I realised I couldn't use their max frames because of this. so I swapped them over.

If you have the Nvidia app installed, is likely going to be the simplest

Configuration done with Alt-Z, then from there you can see/change all the hot keys and setup "clipping" where pressing a hotkey will grab and save a clip for x amount of time.

AFAIK Steam and certainly OBS can be configured for software encoding. Game bar has next to no configuration and may not, and of course the Nvidia app won't.

The "quality" you think you'd be losing is not something you're able to visually discerne, and your tradeoff is notably worse gaming performance as the scheduling of cores for gaming and encoding will not be split up like you believe (unless you manually intervene with something like Process lasso.. but no one does this because we have hardware encoding..)

If you want to go against what everyone would suggest due to some belief (without any experience) that you will benefit then by all means.

Thing is, this stuff does improve over time as engine devs eventually start taking plunges even into places they originally didn't want to venture.

One of them to my knowledge is the UE5 devs at Epic are now trying to tackle multithreading beyond just for 1-4.

Ever since UE4, they've used fewer threads because the code complexity wasn't out the roof (for them) and had fewer mistakess to worry about when patching and updating it.

Now however, the performance drawbacks have finally caught up and they're finally choosing to do something about it, even if it does make it more complex than before.

Honestly I think I'll just go with the 8th gen I found other then the scratches around the screen that don't scream beat up just its not is this new (if I put it side to side with a new one) it seems good and I don't need to buy a charger.

I did find one other listing that has some display deep scratches but you can only see them in the right lighting I only saw them on one of a lot of pics of the screen. He did say it is over 85% health on the battery is $10 cheaper and comes with a watch band.

Ran a benchmark using Heaven Benchmark.
Ran a stress test with OCCT.

I play Arc Raiders and it works perfectly fine, but this issue only seems to occur with Battlefield 6.
