Tis up to the manufacturer to decide how this works, and this can vary from model to model. Most laptops are not meant to run at 100% load constantly. That's what a desktop is for, or a "workstation" class laptop.

Even more weird because the US manual does not indicate the monitor was ever released with an external power adapter. The manual says it uses a regular (C13) computer power cable.
