so you're going to try and flip a system that isn't worth more than $350
a system like this goes for a considerable amount more than $350 here
rl quick can someoen tell met he diffrence between the cloud gatew a y fib er anmd the gateway fiebr form ubiquti pls
what country?
good point
UK
there isn’t even a GPU
so £350 still, and no it doesn't go for more than that
dawg i fixed this n6000s preformance
with default MSRs it is weirdly locked at 1.1GHz for most of the time, but apparently by making the turbo register 0x2121212121212121 the CPU allowed itself to run at 3.1GHz across all cores (0x21.. shouldve done 3.3 but im not complaining, my CPU can actually preform now) for nearly 100% of the time
the 5060 is what's driving the price on this up
pcs have gotten way more expensive
also basing the price on someone selling via facebook is no good
yes cuz its either low balling and u get a deal or its 3000$ "i know what I got"
facebook marketplace is a can be good but not always good place for PCs
I know but it's just to show you the market here
like I know I could get easily £400 for this
that's like the only good deal tbh and it's also collection only
not the only good deal
3600 + 5700xt going for £320
5700xt>6600
though a 5700xt is equal to a 6600xt
for 400-500, i'd expect a 5600 + 6600xt
So, just re-thermaled my GPU with PTM 7950, ran Furmark and this is what I got. Should the memory junction be this much higher?
do an actual benchmark test using something like 3dmark
I don't have the money for it
you can get the demo for it for free on steam or their website
This is Cyberpunk 1080p maxed everything with raytracing on (should have mentioned that this is a Radeon rx7900 XTX). These good temps?
Let’s be fr will ts arrive before Christmas
I’m just about to go with this build, any last minute advice before I go with it? https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/wmqzBq
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5090, HYTE Y70 ATX Mid Tower
yes, decent temps
I’m sorry why is ram that expensive atm
ram, ssd and fans to be changed tbh
Crazy prices tbh
Because of price or..?
prices, performance, and tbh there's way better options
also windows is free to use
I’m okay with the overspend 😅 more just want to make sure it’ll all work and be performing well
What would you recommend for fans and SSD?
RAM I think I’ll just stick where I am because I know it’s going to be a big spend regardless 😅
Even the memory junction temperature? Though to be fair I did JUST start running things with the new PTM an hour ago
this is what happens when you buy shitty sata ssds with 'nand cache' bullshit
the drive is idle btw
@livid fern do you know if the montech titan gold is using corsair's type 4 pinout?
games are non functional on this thing, time to go spend some money on nvme drives since I got 3 more slots
yes
Sooooooo, what I did worked then?
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/YVpw9C saving you £200 while still keeping the performance, and increasing storage capacity
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5090, HYTE Y70 ATX Mid Tower
it be working yes
this is what happens when you buy shitty
satassds
FTFY*
SATA isn't the problem, just get decent SSDs
Thanks 🙂
i left a video running on repeat through jellyfin for an extended time to test/provoke errors and came back to it having crashed/locked up and this screen on my hexos server. does anybody smarter than me know what the heck is going on?
So I just ran furmark again and the vram (which, I guess is the memory junction shit) maxed out at 98°C. Is that normal?
I think I may have put too much putty on the vram
hmm
choices
choices
Imo save the money and get a bigger case with more fans
Is this too much? God I hope it isn't, I can't fucking put myself through doing all that shit over again
yes, the vram won't thermally shut down til 120c, and it only causes issues by throttling when it hits above 100c
also @azure topaz Finished that stress test full load everthingt including ram and no issues poped up, might have been that the ram needed cooling and kept overheating.
you should only use ptm7950 on the core, and then use pads on vram/vrms
I did only use PTM7950 on the core, the vRam is where I put the putty
This is where I put the putty
ok
Even at idle, 80°C is good for vram?
yes
Man I'm reading so many conflicting things
I really don't want to rip this fucker back open again and redo this this has been such an unbelievably stressful day
the core you never want to see it go above 85c, the vram you don't want to see it go above 95c
furmark is essentially a power virus, not a benchmark/stresstest
And it's at 76°C right now with the hotspot at 48°C with only Firefox and Steam open
Hello, I am trying to upgrade my computer to Windows 11. I have enabled fTPM in my bios (b450m bazooka v2). However, windows shows me that my TPM sub version is 1.38.
Any ideas on how I can get this compatible? Do I need to do a bios update? Or is something else incompatible?
your bios should always be up to date
Just ran 3Dmark, these are my numbers
VRam peaked at 92°C
Has technonogy finally advanced enough to where we can have "hide camera cutout" as always on?
yup, good
Should it really be 75°C at idle though? The card isn't being hurt by that, is it?
is the ram market cooked?
it's not being hurt, and if you want it cooler at idle, you'd disable zero rpm mode and set a custom curve
Zero RPM mode?
argb header
also why tf is it that high??
because its ebay
also because of the ai rush making things like so much higher
like why tho, jeez just make more ram
@azure topaz sorry for the ping again, sadly even wit full stress tests and everything done to the PC and adding a fan to the ram, it still rebooted after a bit of VR on.
back to psu?
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/gcZTsp
any recommendations for this parts list? i cant really add more money to it
its for my friend
im in canada
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5500, Arc B580, Deepcool CG580 ATX Mid Tower
yes, get a 5600 instead of a 5500
r u sure?
its a 110 dollars more
is it still worth it
yes
the 5500 performs no better than a 3600 but with half the cache and pcie gen3 only
I personally have a 5800x3d myself
where as a 5600 has 20-25% more performance over a 3600
We went to microcenter and picked out a lian li one instead, what's wrong with the SSD tho?
And ended up getting a 750w PSU aswell
Also got ram for such a good price
The ram was 400 but got it for 280
It's from some random company but literally best deal I think
sn5000 is $50 cheaper while having basically the same performance
<@&750150305383186585> rule #5
For an open box aouros one
Damn
Why it loud asf
Have u guys ever heard of klevv? That's the company we got the ram from
120mm fan at around 6000 RPM
yes, they have some decent ram and most mobo brands test using their ram
We got this for 280
It was I think 6000mt
But we did a pick up for it from microcenter and the sticker on it said 400
32gb
show me
only 3 companies mass produce chips themself (micron, samsung and sk hynx)
other just package it in sticks and sell it
Does anyone have the win10 media creation tool exe installed on their PC or know where I could find it?
Actully dw think I found it
use rufus
State of the Xbox:
I think the hdmi port is dead and only the av port is working and it’s a falcon made after April so it’s not destined to have the rrod
Bought this on an impulse, switches are swappable. What should I replace the corsair switches with?
What ever you like most
Just sticking to what I know and using a USB lol
Only ever used scratchy cherry mx switches before and some gateron reds
This keyboard seems to use Hall effects switches, not sure if you can or should swap those
Yeah, but with normal ones or only Hall effects ones?
Probably only hall
Ohhh well that answers my question
The stabs are really nice
Hey all. I'm trying to strike a laptop this black friday. I have a surface pro 7 that has started to give up on me a little (the keyboard and kickstand don't work so well anymore), and so I'm looking for a new laptop. I really enjoy the 2-in-1 form factor the surface gave me, but from my search, other than the Z13 (which is expensive and doesn't even have a place to put a dedicated pen), there aren't many good 2-in-1 options. So I'm considering getting a dedicated laptop and just keeping my surface around as a tablet, which is what I use it for anyway these days.
I need a laptop that can do a lot of multitasking (probably 32 gb ram?), I want something that can run Minecraft (modded), Hytale when it releases, and Dead by Daylight, but I don't want some huge, bulky gaming laptop covered in tacky designs and rgb. Any recommendations?
if you are in US look at the HP omnibook x there is a model for 999$ with i9, 32gb ram and i think 2tb ssd
has a very nice screen too
Well, went ahead and let my anxiety take over. Have a killing migraine but I now put thermal pads and the PTM reapplied. Took 2 tries this time. Here's hoping I'll never have to do this ever again.
how good are intel arc 140v graphics?
slightly better than integrated i believe
can they even run dead by daylight?
i mean i ran portal on an i3 with awful integrated graphics
you can do anything with anything
forgot to mention this deal is at bestbuy ^
otherwise if you want a discrete GPU you are looking at either workstation laptops or gaming laptops
workstation gets pricey
so there's no inbetween intel arc and a discrete gpu
?!?!
On a scale of one to absolutely cooked how cooked am I??
Wait your telling me I could just trouble shoot and go into windows 11
💀
The hell is this even for then??
I’m so confused
Why not 1 strip of pad per row?
Like I’ve never seen anyone cut out a thermal pad for each individual ram module
I thought overflow was a problem
Been pretty crud tbh pc wise
does anyone know how to set up Hwmonitor, it says that the progarm isnt compatible with my operating system.
Whelp, after doing thermals 4 times for this fucking card I guess I'm just gonna have to deal with the fact that it'll never be perfect. After an hour of idling it's at 74°C at the VRam, even after adjusting the fan curve. Just going to have to deal with it, I suppose.
there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that
thats good
perfectly normal
But that's at idle, it shouldn't be that temp at idle
depends on the fan speed
1,700rpm but it didn't seem to make much of an impact on the vram
cooler doesn’t really care about vram anyways
and “idle” isn’t essentially meaningless
what do you mean?
the vram isn’t the focus of the cooler, so the amount of heat it can pull from it is fairly low
so what do i do? what can i do? is it supposed to run this warm? I've changed the thermals like, 4 times
my friend has the taichi version that he also rethermaled and that maxes at like 78 in furmark
maxed out at 94 in 3dmark
normal
what do you mean “rethermaled” also that’s normal
redid the thermals, like took out all the shitty factory AsRock thermals and reapplied new thermals
as in thermal pads?
as in absolutely everything
ptm7950 on the dye, thermal putty on the vram (which i did, but then the vram was really hot again, so i used pads this time, and it appears the exact same), and thermal pads on the other shit
i ran no thermal pads on my 2080ti with a waterblock so basically no airflow and it still worked fine dont worry too much
94 is perfectly normal
you weren't here during my first experience with this, but trust me when i say the stock thermals were appalling
see all that debris? all of this was the stock factory thermals. it was disgusting, AND it ran hot
Isn't 95 like, the danger zone tho?
In general yes but in some cases thats fine
but not all the times thats the case so its always best bet to check your thermals
100c is for vram
also what the hell, did you buy this new?
that is not what a new card looks like at all
That's all I've been doing, 80% of the time I'm playing games I'm looking at HWiNFO to make sure I'm not killing my card
Yep! From new.
where’d you buy it from?
Newegg
i 100% would have returned that, that is not a new GPU
or at the very least one that was stored improperly
That was after about a year of use, not out of the box. But it still shouldn't look like that a year later.
do you happen to live in a really high humidity environment?
Also I'm not the only one, go ahead and do some research on the phantom gaming asrock 7900xtx, everyone deals with this
I live in Florida, but my room wasn't overly humid.
anyways, 94c is perfectly acceptable and you’re unlikely to see much improvement
furmark isn’t true to actual use anyways
94 was in 3dmark
It was higher in Furmark
Anyone here play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle? I have settings optimization questions for a specific area of the game.
Went to 98 in Furmark
Keep in mind, this is vram and not hotspot were talking about. 94c memory junction temperature (vram)
94c is the very upper end of fine, but fine nonetheless
It automatically starts throttling at a certain temperature, right? I'm not killing my card in the process?
Ngl, i always forgot how shitty black friday sales are
@grizzled frost are you from us of a? Asking because im curious about black friday sales in the states
is it fine if i leave a micro usb connected to my pc
"sales" they just raise prices then lower them back to normal within a month
like i would like to have it on my desk but not connected to anything
so i can just pull out my controller and connect it
like it shouldnt fuck anything up
As long as you arent storing the other end inside the pc next to the motherboard, dont worry
nu its on my desk
Im saying there's no way anything bad will happen unless it touches a pin or something, you're almost definitely fine
gotcha
yessir
You don't get deals at all here, just fake sales
the above is accurate
Been hunting just meh
Hell, some things go up with how they adjust the price lmao
Wonder if black friday is meant to warn you that we're at a tipping point
If so its been at that point for years but idk
the only legit deal I've seen is the 30% drop for the LG 27GX700A
the hot new tandem oled monitor
exactly
Baldurs Gate 3 max everything. Not terrible
Well it can accelerate the degrading process over a long period of time but yeah
sup
i am downloading something and its saying that the speed is 3 mb/s and in task manager it says its 30 does any1 know why
What program are you using to download <thing>? A screenshot showing the speed in the app/program will help, too.
Anyone want to go steal some ddr5 ram might be more profitable then stealing copper
gang yall reckon i sit this overpriced ahh test (165usd)
to learn how to use microsoft defender like a pro!!!!
i pretty sure copper worth more
cheaper than comptia security+ believe it or not
per pound? no way
absolutely not, if you fail I bet it's non refundable
?
i won't fail though i'm just saying is it worth it to learn how to use ms defender lol
ram is worth astronomically
more per pound than copper
no
even just the pure silicon is
copper is like 4.50 a pound
idk microsoft has literally nothing to do with general stuff other than associates
which is not cheap at all but ram would be in the thousands at urrent value rn
hundreds of thousands depending on the type of ram
yah
my kit of ram would be 1200usd to buy rn
my kit is high speed so it was somewhat spared from stupid ram prices
it's azure defender lol
100 of those would probably be less than a pound
I bought my ram right before ram prices jumped lol
165usd to know how to use a basically useless (well not anymore) simple antivirus is not worth it, some Indian guy in YouTube could teach you for free in 20 minutes how to setup a good antivirus
unironically buying an 8k kit and tuning it to 6k c30 is cheaper and better than buying an 6k30 kit rn
Ah welcome back to 1994 for ram costs
i don't think you know what a career certification is??????
you can reprogram XMP's+add your own to sticks to make it 6k c30
oh it's for a career
the 165usd isn’t to learn anything, it’s to prove you know something
if you validate it and do proper memoory tests theres nothing wrong
it's proof that i know azure microsoft defender at a level that will allow me to defend companies from cyber attacks
didn't see that it's a career thing
yes exactly
the certification is just that, a certification, it certifies your knowledge
i see people on hwbot buying 4800 hynix sticks and then binning them to 6kc30 and reselling them
mine on amazon is 300
It was normally at 90$, was selling at 110$. I was wondering why the price wasn't going back down and looked up the news. Bought it right away after that. I think the kit is $200 now.
exactly yeah, i'm just doing one for the shits and giggles i'm ngl i'm not really going into IT i think it just looks nice on my CV and i've got summer break and i have nothing better to do
my kiy it is 400$ and i spent 240$ on it
i need my ccna at some point
mmmm
mine came with my prebuilt
well it's your money
fair enuf
my kit is at 1200 last i checked and i spent 330 on it
I with there weren't prerequesites though like being an associate
is ddr4 hella expensive too
literally just an excuse for them to make you spend more money
yes
yeah like if im in an industry vet it's silly i have to sit through fundamentals and associate levels
ddr3 is minimally affected at least
Remember when one single ram stick was enough to buy a 5080 in the consumer market
guess it's good I found the 16gb kit in a dumpster, would've been a better find if it was after prices skyrocketed but sure whatever
time to sell all the ddr4 out of my servers for instant cash
i could probably make more money than i spent on the servers as a whole
I wonder if I could sell an 8GB stick for expensive
but nobody wants 8GB
so im gonna go with no
JESUS
deedeeare three
😭
thats more epensive than ram prices rn
it could even be more than the average monthly morage
Which kit?!
That's like a 300% increase in price
I originally bought my Klevv 48GB 6000 CL30 kit for $150 USD and now it's slightly over $370 USD
And this is from Klevv's offical listing on Amazon
prolly somewhere there yeah

Just save money getting a single 16gb kit...
1027.32
In today's money, that is slightly cheaper than how much a single 16 megabyte stick was going for 30 some years ago

1027$ for 16GB of DDR5
I'm very happy I got my ram when it was at the cheapest.

Back in my day 2x16 cl30 6000 was $98!
you could buy a ps5 with that
I got 2x16 6000mhz white rgb for 92 USD last year,
@azure topaz@grizzled frost pladium or however it's spelt, is worth way more per gram than copper is per pound
rhodium also
though both of these require you to strip smd resistors and capacitors from boards then a process of melting them down for the metals
i feel weird for going team razer, I already have audiophile iems though 😔
I don't understand this shit dude, I just quit Baldur's Gate 3 and the memory junction temperature went up 4 degrees
What the hell is that how the hell does that even happen
who loves 3d
I know I do
Why in the everliving fuck would you pay that much for a craptastic razer headset....
If you already have audiophile shit, spend that money on a good mic and mic arm
And use your other headsets
paying for razer is like getting cut with a razor blade
A dull and shitty one at that
indeed
@rigid fjord A techtuber finally got his hands on a 6500XT..... 8GB
and I tell you, AMD really hampered the thing with 4gb of ram
its like only 15-20% gap from 6600, and is almost 100% performance than 4gb
what hampers it more so is that it only usess pcie x4
they should have kept it x8 and 8gb ram, then it would sell like pancakes
would have been nice if they did, but tbf, it's a laptop gpu that got brought to desktop due to gpu and silicon crisis
LMAO the Windows 7 restore theme, increase performance by a ton
my CPU used to barely go over 4.80 GHz now it goes over 5.10 GHz LMAOOO
Hi, could anyone tell me with PSU is better, XPG cybercore 1300 plat or EVGA P3 1200W? I have the P3 in my main rig and just got XPG brand new in box from FB marketplace. I know on the PSU tier list the XPG is A+ in official ranking, but the P3 only have unofficial ranking of B+. Which one should I used for my main and which one should I put to the second rig?
an a+ psu would be the best option but tbh, there is no advantage going for a platinum rated psu over a gold rated psu
they both plat
and i bet you paid almost double for them over a gold rated psu of the same/similar wattage
I got it for 100 CAD
No way in hell I'm spending graphics card money on ram
if you want ddr5, you definitely will do
I have one stick of 16 gb ddr5 it will have to do for now
me with an am4 build still, definitely the wise route
even though i could likely sell my 2 kits of ddr4 ram for the price of ddr5
black friday 2023 i got 128Gb ddr4 for about 200€
today it's about 340€ for a 64Gb (2*32Gb) kit
i could resell both of my 16gb kits for 130+ per pair
i paid 65 of one and 71 for the other
Tbh you’re spending entry level gpu money on ram now. If you gonna spend that much on a gpu you’re gonna spend it on ram.
And they’ve worked that out. Gg consumer prices for pc builders forever now
My shitty kit cost me £110. It’s now out of stock and hit an all time high of £300. It sold out at 280 2 days ago
Insane tbfh
I'm trying to play games on Linux. Any suggestions for playable games?
WHY DOES SAMSUNG install two messaging apps by default and you can't disable, God forbid uninstall, either.
Guys what specs should a pc/laptop have in order to do these:
Web browsing (just normal)
YouTube
Watching movies
Retro gaming (nothing super crazy I was Thinking Minecraft,San Andreas other low-end games)
Anyone here play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle? I have settings optimization questions for a specific area of the game.
Most laptop's with an Intel i3 / AMD equivalent, 8GB RAM, and at least 256GB storage can handle such tasks. That said, while nothing is ever future proof, don't skimp on processing power, RAM, or storage if you know you'll grow into it.
Even Minecraft?
Is i5 6th gen laptop/mini pc good ?
I should I opt for higher stuff
is sabrent a good brand of SSDs
That... was not part of your original ask, but technically, yes... for Minecraft it really depends on how many mods you're planning to run. And if you want shaders... I just don't recommend that on a laptop. (IMO, it's not worth getting a laptop with a GPU just for the purpose of running Minecraft with shaders. But of course, you do you. 👍 )
If you want to run Windows on it, not for regular daily use. Windows 11 doesn't support 6th gen Intel.
Don't buy based on brands; buy based on models. Sabrent makes good SSDs, but as with all brands, they also make hot garbage. (And even their good SSDs can be Dead on Arrival. Friend's Sabrent Rocket died in 6 months.)
No shaders, just normal plain Minecraft maybe with 1-2 texture packs
So what specs should I opt for ? @formal sonnet
Today's modern processors can run lots of stuff (even more demanding games) "acceptably" though for the more demanding one's you either have to turn the settings way down or suffer with poor framerates. Minecraft though should be fine.

Nah I was Thinking mini pc
Since laptop will be expensive just for shitty monitor webcam etc
Which I have already
Minisforum
what's a minisforum
Those are a lot of assumptions, but if you already have peripherals, a desktop might make sense.
Yesss
Get some crazy stuff in sff
Should I go with PNY for SO DIMM ram?
doesnt matter
Specifically, 16gb 5600mhz DDR5
I would start your search by getting familiar with Mini PC's before you narrow anything down.
https://sts10.github.io/2022/11/12/mini-pc-buying-guide.html
https://www.reddit.com/r/MiniPCs/comments/1hxtacs/2025_general_mini_pc_guide_usa/
Do you have a (family) house with one or two mediocre computer monitors, speakers, keyboards and mice? Do you want a decent, cheap desktop for browsing the ‘net, watching videos, maybe some light document editing work? I did! So I decided to do some research. Why a mini PC As...
I know, I just want good warranty policy and reliability
Corsair vengeance isn't in stock
A company that seems to be on some sort of drugs they will put anything into sff if they could they would put a 5090 into a 1” cube
Also I need recommendations for a decent Tri mode wireless mouse under $65 USD
Price range?
Then I'll research on my own
Same size as the Razer Viper Mini
My country won't match,so just give your recommendation (well don't say Ryzen 9 9800x3d with 32gb ram)
Something that will perfectly match what I'm doing
In general (and for your scenario), I tend to recommend at least an Intel i5 (or AMD equivalent), 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage.
You don't have to buy new / current generation stuff; but I wouldn't go with anything older than ~3 years if you're looking to get multiple years of life out of it. Technically, Intel 8th gen is still supported by Windows 11... for now. Reading between the lines, it feels like Microsoft will follow in Apple's footsteps and start to drop support for older hardware, one generation at a time with each subsequent Windows build version. Just a hunch though.
Yess I'm buying used
Okay something like this then it’ll do a little gaming probably handle triple a games at up to 60hz 1080 p and is otherwise a fun little thing
That's what the ram on that pc looks like

Good morning everyone
@rigid fjord I actually have some games and some stuff from the DOS and Windows 95 era we still have all these years back
Mostly CDs and some 3.5 floppies
does anyone here have a asus vp249qgr monitor?
https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/895445814128812073/1444244191134617670/20251129_092850.jpg?ex=692c00b7&is=692aaf37&hm=7b58a5ca1eced565bcbd50cffb86562ac898cf1f8f24a6b0b0f74abed541b5eb&=&format=webp&width=1291&height=968 this is the issue i have. horizontal lines started appearing last month across my entire taskbar, i first noticed them on the right side across my action centre icon but then it spread to the entire panel horizontally over the taskbar
one reddit user said it's a horizontal driver chip failure? not sure if that's actually the case
WTF IS THAT UNIT
some people on the ltt forum said changing the refresh rate resolved their issue, on my end it actually makes it worse because the entire bottom part is now flickering, it's not that visible but if you pay close attention you can see it
oh wow at 50hz it's really visible.. not only that even the colours are different
I havbe this thing with my monitor where sometimes my screen wont refresh but when i move my mouse it will up date some of that section (alr updated gpu drivers)
wolframalpha.com you can just type in and it works out units
it dose silly things like works out L/100KM to m^2
Canadian gas mileage.... converted to... area?
(I know of Wolfram, just didn't know it would try to do weird conversions.)
ok 1000L is 1m^3
and 1KM is 1000m^1 so you can just simplity to M^2
I know I know, I still just find conversions like this to be... strange. Or rather, just not something I'd ever need in everyday life. An engineer somewhere probably converts such units everyday though. 👍
well if you magicly had a tube of fuel that cost secion is how much fule you need to keep going'
So what you're saying is... I need to go steal purchase a jetliner airplane? 🤔
at least its not as cursed as nm:sqrot(nm)
phone hotspot is actually pretty good
Should i get this phone? Omix O1 Next 5G
Or this Samsung Galaxy A16 (4 GB / 128 GB)
Crank that dial to max
Layla AI, developed by Layla Networks, is designed to be fully self-hosted and locally run on your device, supporting on-device LLMs and Stable Diffusion for image generation without requiring internet connectivity. It emphasizes privacy, offline functionality, and allows advanced users to load custom GGUF models.
In contrast, RedMagic Mora is not self-hosted in the same sense—she relies on pre-loaded assets and limited cloud-dependent features, with no support for user-loaded AI models or local LLM inference. Despite RedMagic phones being powerful gaming devices, Nubia has not leveraged that hardware for local AI hosting like Layla does.
i don't like making MY ai talk for me but facts are facts boys...
Ehem, mods
you know its not good when they say "please" rofl

yep, i use sketchup
im working on my battlestation
why is buildcores not showing all the parts some of them just go invisible
ive got a grim sense of humor when things like ai-psycosis get said... its a defence mechanism....
here my secret sauce, what im going to build for those who read my prior message...

ive got a song if you'd like
solved
Saved for later
that's edo-ram
fpga boards look similar
fun part is that, before win 98, those are all 16bit games, and from win98 onwards the games are at least 32bit, and win 7 onwards the games could be 64 bit
you guys watch thought emporium?
why are RAM prices so cooked rn wtf?
sparknotes please dont link me to a 45 minute long video on market manipulation
thanks mora red magic and the rest of the em... /s
basically the current RAM shortage is primarily driven by AI server farms. Memory manufacturers like Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron have redirected production capacity from standard server DRAM to high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and advanced DRAM needed for AI chips, fueling an "AI arms race." This shift has caused a severe supply crunch, with major U.S. and Chinese hyperscalers receiving only about 70% of their server DRAM orders and facing price surges of up to 50%
god i hope we get a unibomber 2.0
AI
ted kaczinski-er
i refuse to call it AI. Its not intelligent it doesnt think. Glorified clanker. Only has so many resources bc of rich people afraid of rokos basalisk
military ai Palentir, war...
i guess im only surprised bc it took so long for ram prices to jump compared to GPUs
my pc begs for an upgrade, i think one more 16 gb stick of ram would be nice and affordable begin of this renovation
Chat, should I make the jump to am5 now or stay on my am4
but theres a catch
AM5 has a pretty good upgradability path, i will.
core i7 8700 and R9 390msi 8gb 2015 build, thanks austin, linus, jayztwocents... it still holds
gpu, artifacted a repaste fixed it and well i saw the v-ram had scarred the pcb yet still beam ng drive at 1080 100fps
Ram prices are fucky rn switching to am5 means that I gotta swap my CPU ram and mb
yeah its worth it for me since i have an older build i guess... made it last
Thanking Jayztwocents is wild
14 year old me needed a good midrange he said R9 390msi and well he was right
the cheapest new ddr4 16 gb 3200 stick is $126 in my country, what are you dealing with?
U asked a question yes
I mean does a 14 year old have many options at all lol
For c 3.1
Its type4 except the 24pin
2k euro build crazy but put in a RX 6700 and it'll get 7 more years, i knew a little
if i remember right nzxt core is also type4 except the 24pin
for gaming you dont need 32gb
I would definitely get no less than 32GB
and get ddr4 used, its gonna be expensive as hell used
with a new ddr5 build maybe
with a DDR5 build absolutely because 8GB DDR5 DIMMs are handicapped, but on a DDR4 build, I would still absolutely get 32GB
meanwhile here in france i saw a 5600mhz ddr5 32Gb for 60 in a thrift store, alas funds are hard
shit take a loan and sell it idk
hah
ehh for gaming you can probably put your money elsewhere
Nah, 32GB is minimum in 2025
thats fair, but honestly i think i can stay on 16 gbs for little more time, its not the weakest part of my current pc
@rigid fjord Titan gold likely uses type4 pcb's. Let me check
maybe until ai bubble will pop, i hope this shit will crash
doubt it...
wait 2 years maybe
what else do you have in there for reference
i say in four it'll stabalize, back to 2015 era
okies, as there's a 1200w one at a really good price
Everyone is focusing on RAM but have you seen large die/big RAM GPU availability?
yeah no rx 9070 24gb card
nvidia no longer supplying vram to board partners :)
i like how theres nothing positive about 99% of ai
genuinely what do we need video generation for
with all the processing power it takes
the 1% is self host... 3b q 4 IMPISH_LLAMA model on my S23
Doesn't even exist.
I am saying this:
Philadelphia area Micro Center has 3 models of 5090 .... that's it. And all are AIOs.
its why i look to AMD now..
umm, i upgraded it in the mining era last time and my funds got me a gt 1030 with a ryzen 3 1200
Its been this way now for nearly 2+ weeks
ok yeah fuck the ram lol youve got other problems
My theory is AI is hitting large die and large VRAM packages
why odes it have an aio attached to it
outdated driver homies 🥺
they make AIO GPUs, but they are not popular due to fitment... but yeah our MC (and almost every single one I search) has no air-cooled 5090s
maybe a rx 580 8gb and ryzen 5 3600 for the price of that 16gb stick
i can get a rx 6700 xt with a r5 5600 currently in my country
but i dont know how to buy used gpu safely
none the less, rx 6000 series used to mine crypto
3600 + 6600/6600xt build for the price of some ddr5 sticks/kits
we live in an interesting timeline
doesnt really matter
just broken or not for me
i feel inclined to sell my 32gb kit but then i will have no ram
its like housing prices
hold onto to it, i regret not being able to buy the one i saw for 60 next morning it was gone
Deepcool PX series uses type4
PX-G is CSZ so same platform as titan gold. I have no info about montech using their own pinouts
What is this for? It came with my GPU – it has ARGB
aura argb headder? im only guessing
What is this
what gpu?
I have standard male and female 3-pin 5V as well
Red Devil 6900 XT
5V 3-pin ARGB adapter / bridge (proprietary sync dongle)
It is not a power connector and not required for the GPU to function. It is only for RGB synchronization.
Here’s what it’s for in practice:
The Red Devil has:
its own onboard RGB
and a pass-through ARGB sync option
That little piece acts as:
a bridge
or format adapter
between:
the GPU’s small proprietary RGB header
and a standard 3-pin 5V ARGB motherboard header
That’s why you also have:
a standard male 3-pin 5V
and a standard female 3-pin 5V
The tiny block is just the translation layer between PowerColor’s internal RGB wiring and standard Aura/Mystic/Polychrome headers.
Important warning (seriously):
Never plug that into a 12V 4-pin RGB header.
If someone forces that:
GPU RGB dies instantly
sometimes the motherboard RGB controller with it
Correct ARGB pinout is:
5V → Data → Ground
If the motherboard header does not explicitly say 5V / D / G, do not use it.
RGB?
Намерено с Google от reddit.com
yep RGB
What RGB?
But why and where do I plug this into
I have normal 5V as well
the lighting red green blue white
small connector into mobo propriatairy into card if not compatible and otherwise use the special wire
sync works with Works with:
ASUS Aura Sync (5V only)
MSI JRAINBOW (5V)
Gigabyte D_LED (5V)
ASRock Polychrome ARGB (5V)
do you guys know of Cortical labs?
prompt-crastinated this not vibe-coded lmao
How's WLMouse
i'm running an off brand wireless lazer mouse, i bet they pretty good haha
I'm just tryna get a good mouse that'll last me 5+ years
And something premium while I'm at it
dont do razer my naga lasted a year...
Razer is razer
trying to sell a 7600 and b650, buyer asked me if i could also sell the 32gb kit in the picture
I'm running a viper mini for 3ish years now
Hell no
Will he pay extra
i mean probably
but hes probably hoping that i don't know about ddr5 prices
i need ddr5 for myself too yk
gluttony is ill-advised, he don't deserve the gpu, how much?
Just added another TB of storage to my computer.
gpu ?
yeah
my only experience with verbatim is their dogshit products dying
I was told they were good.
idk not selling any gpus
idk anything about blu rays so maybe theyre good at that
oh ryzen 7600 not rx ok
I'm gonna use them for backups.
Can anyone help me out with this?
chat how cooked am i?
tf u runnin
chat gpt. one 3 day long chat plus had a bunch of extra research going on
Was at the flea market today, saw a bunch of early 2010s laptops
And some early 2000s
im exaggerating lol
its fine i just forgot tabs
just never seen my system go to 13 gigs before, i just hopped from W10 to 11 is the isseu
meanwile my 2011 laptop with 12GB on CashyOs at 1.17 - 3, cool MS
whats a long lasting and good 2tb drive?
that does not consumer your ram
if it didn't why are all the ai companies buying ram
extra tabs? they do
no just one long gpt is minimal the ai's ram use is on their system not the user's
way you said it made it sound like you had a local version
i do aswell on my S23
key word is ai companies and not consumers
they outpricing like heck lol
they dont even have power capacity to turn all of it on, its just sitting on a shelf
sorry, just an OG halo fan that wants what's best dude chill
clearly don't just vibe-code aigen images... das fair but neuro-sama... das cool
Should I go for the WLMouse Beast X Mini or the Stride?
Or should I go for the much cheaper MChose L7 Ultra (even though this is a bit too big for me I think)
whess come alive
Anyone know how to fix this?
yes but did you turn pc off and on again?
Did you click more info
yes
What’s it say
Yes
what headset do you have?
yes, it needs to be upgraded to 32gb
16gb ain't making it anymore
Bigscreen beyond 2e
@arctic furnace is your GPU running the latest drivers?
it was great in 2010's but now we've got win11 and 2025 so requirements raised not only OS wise but even games started to require 32gb at least
I installed them today I’m using a 3080
no it needs linux but i'm not going to mess with FL on it yet since it just work fine, just meme bro
if linux then okay but windows 32gb only
Windows doesn’t use a static amount of ram so it doesn’t matter
If you need more it will release some that it’s using to cache files (well any data)
a connoisseur i see
What if i have windows with 64gb
then u are okay m8
then you sell XD
What if you have windows with 256GB
I think there’s an upper cap it’s not that high
Sell half of it and become rich
Honestly
Skill issue 😔
16GB is FINE
Not ideal, but it works.
16gb isnt even enough for one game
Depends what game
let me launch beam ng drive then but inno if you memeing
Minecraft (a game known for needing adequate memory to play well) can run on my laptop with 8GB of ram just fine
yes i need 64gb for 1080p roblox 💔
see how dumb that sounds
yes
no it dosent
buy things to your needs not what people perceive as “standard”
It sounds pretty dumb, considering it’s not close to being true at all
not so wise words
in what scenario will roblox need 64gb?
What
3 roblox instances + 120 tabs and discord and other programs open
read ^ for context
Atp run 3 vms
Bros farming bubble gum sim or something lmao what you need 3 instances for
you might as well say 6969 instances of roblox 6969 tabs of chrome and 6969 apps of discord XD
hilarious man
I remember my friend used to farm that game and couldn’t figure out how to run multiple instances
69 funny number haha
Ha
67
Haha
yea misleading people into buying more than they need especially with expensive ram prices now is just wrong lol
buy to your needs
Theres no tired emoji on discord 😔
Its js a square or smth
hmm
I mean this
Its optimal fan placement you wouldn't get it
thanks
its like those toilet bowl cases
how do u do this and not think "maybe i mounted it wrong"
2015 build...
this is genuinely impressive
like how do you even manage to do that
if you say so dude
once u go above 240 you cant go back
240 is low
bro its beam on the biggest map from the mod section...
Tell that to 42% of gamers that run on 16GB
1080p?
wow what a flex
360 is low once you get the rog 540hz monitor you cant go back
360 1080 and 1440p 240
do you have that sir?
1080p is just not it anymore bro, should be running 144hz on a 4k OLED display minimum
im being fr yall are just trolling
nope i dont need a 540 hz monitor for work XD
👍
im being fr in everything i said
Yah and we’re saying you’re talking bs
^
well thats my opinion you can disagree
this is so ironic...
And we’re explaining how it’s literally wrong
Sometimes there’s bad opinions, this is one of them
my opinion is not wrong
your just disagreeing
i can say the same about your opinion but that wouldnt make sense
not everyone has 500HZ money bro....
Yes we can have opinions but openly setting people down by indirectly calling their computer shit by saying their FPS is low is totally immature 😔
where did i say that
we know you have a nasa pc but keep it to yourself ❤️
where did i say i have nasa pc or boast about my pc
You’re saying 16GB isn’t enough anymore, the fact that the majority of people playing use 16GB setups, the steam machine just came out with 16GB which matches the average gamers specs already proves you wrong
right here
There’s nothing to disagree with, you’re just plainly wrong
you mount the bracket to the cooler wrong
old cooler mounts sucked
proper contact
80 fps is great
i know cause i did that
“thats the minimum” openly setting down people who have <240hz screens
smartest ltt members
thanks
you really are, dude. man i shoulve let my gpu burn ig
Fh5 + other programs are above 16gb already
lmao are you the guy with the 96 degree vram XTX
Tested dat on my 9950x + 5080 rig
nah R9 390msi 8gb
dang baller card
ive heard alot of bad things about xtx besides rt performance its perfect and ive heard alot of people with very hot xtxs but when i had mine it never hit 70c
remember to repaste every 3 years boys
ye pump out is a bitch
Oh yeah thats a thing i gotta do
How often do i repaste cpu?
You don’t have to run max settings to play games btw
i ran it on 3440 x 1440 max settings msaa x8
cpu depends heavily, mine still just at a chill 50 idle 43, never repasted 2017 thats 7, forgor i went from i7 4500k to i7 8700
has anyone tried buying on alibaba hard drives ?
i feel like if you have a 1440p ultrawide monitor you’d have enough money to get a 32gb kit of ram but then again you couldve won it in a lucky draw
9999999999 parts selected
hows temps?
If it’s a stupid low price, it’s not real
92C rn
well, both were bought by normal money, without any lucky draws and shit
Repasting doesn't even help?
Then the R9 390(X) just ran hot as 290X
Oh, I had a Gigabyte R9 390 G1 and 94°C at load, even with spread repasting.
check this
it goes to 95, driver yells i don't care lol
Dual-fan
now that would be almost debatable lmao
I sold it and I went to R9 Nano
Under 70°C at load
lmao yeah
honestly if you had an am4 platform ram was mad cheap like a few months ago
ECC ddr4 was like $8 for a 16gb stick
albeit its slow as balls
Yeah 😭
I was looking at upgrading stuff too, maybe buying a second rig
not anymore lmao
for the meme added obs
oh boy you can tell the settings are on like the lowest lmaooo
it is what it is
Me, who has 8 GB RAM and Windows idles at 1.4 GB:
I disabled useless services and deleted useless background tasks on Windows 11 IoT LTSC
i cooked 3 usb drives trying with rufus
IoT LTSC doesn't even have Copilot
I wouldn't recommend 16gb if you have a decent ish rig (though honestly with ram prices rn I'd recommend it lol)
32gb is pretty good, but I also wouldn't say its the minimum ngl.
I'm a casual gamer
low end rig doesn't make you a casual gamer, it makes you a hardend rockstar doing all for more frames
This is true.
real.
honestly
the times I felt happiest as a gamer
was when I had low end hardware or a jank ass setup
csgo on an i5 laptop 32fps ACEs yeah...
going for this yall
https://www.wlmouse.com/products/wlmouse-drg?variant=50340261396778
like yeah I wanted a better setup, and yeah its nice
but I remember my laptop with some pentium, playing minecraft, I was pretty happy
(until I built so much and the frams started dropping)
not a fan of valorant but the white one looks cool
which one looks better
the first link you sent ngl
thats the second image
considering my set up, I thought the first one looks better
I already have a circus of a mouse
my current one
This, got vanilla Minecraft medium settings running 60FPS stable on the i5-4300U
Was super fun
it's better on pc with all the mods you can use
because real gamer at that point
yes, but i can't fit it in my pocket lmao, they REALLY should've put it on the googleplay/appstore by now...
Do you enter the BIOS of MSI with DEL?
that or f2 button
yes
try both
if not f9
(not at the same time)
well racking it like a piano has always worked for me
That's better.
Is 40 euros worth it for the dram cache on a 2tb drive on my OS drive? Its basically the difference between about 120 and 160 euros.
cute!
@rigid fjord choose
is that the mini pro
yes
beethoven must be proud of you
I think I prefer the metallic finish of the regular beast x mini
looks more premium for something that costs more than my keyboard
dyk if they cover the customs fees and whatever if I order it?
depends on country
Bangladesh
did u order anything from overseas before
using Aliexpress only\
did they charge extra qfterwards
be prepared to pay the customs fee just in case
i highly doubt they stated everything
What do you guys think about these asiahorse fans?
they’re aite for aesthetics
not like if ur buying these infinity mirror fans ur going for performance anyway
Yeah nah. I want my pc to look pretty lol
how much would it be
its ur country look it up dawg
you be making the hardware work for you at that point tbf
Does anyone use Enterprise on a personal computer?
it might add $70 USD...
cant even cancel the order
are gpu companies like palit inno3d and gainward worth looking ad or not
Does anybody know where I can get a rgb hub like the Corsair one, where I can control each fan separately? I can’t use the Corsair one for standard rgb fans sadly
a usb based fan hub
Can’t seem to find one. All the ones I can find are addressed via the 5 or 12v rgb connector and simple power.
Only one I can find is the Corsair commander, which i can’t use for my fans.
https://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/ProductCategory/16073.html?q=rtx 5080 i want to buy myself a rtx 5080 now there are many different comanies and i cant descide which one i should get now i am looking forward to getting help at this topic my prefences are good performing good quality and still more on the quieter side and NO GIGABYTE my budget is around 900-1.100€ and please explain me why
Yes, cards are fine. Iirc just brands that arent as active globally like Asus, Gigabyte etc
Someone asked me why people spend $2000+ on PC's when a $500 PC "runs just as well." I'm actually baffled at this position, because any $2000 PC with the parts picked by a competent builder will absolutely shitstomp a $500 PC (assuming all new parts for both)
the RTX 5080 and lianli build theory
"a competent builder" you mean random guys on the internet that are either drunk or high?
Idk if the dude just thinks people spend 4x the money just for vibes or something, or if he's only ever played on a potato
Hey man, building a PC high is pretty fun lol
Ironically I think I picked out my whole build recently while baked lol
i ain't hating, i'm included in the "high or drunk" category
Depends on the kind of games said guy plays, also if he only thinks in 1080p...but yeah
i want it so bad its so pretty
Yeah he's probably referring to like CSGO or Fortnite or one of those games that can run on a toaster
so bad for your loop
guys so quick tech troubleshoot. My brother's pc hasnt been turned on in a while and when we turned it on, it kept going from windows to bios and gave blue screens, and now it boots but no display or power to mouse and keyboard. what the fuck is wrong?
That's a nice purple color
yeah thats the only thing holding it back for me 😭
i reseated the ram and did the cmos battery thing but still nothing
Did you have any power surges or something similar since it's been off?
yeah now that i think about it i think we actually did
power surge like in a storm when the power cuts out
(or when the lightning strikes?)
PSU might've gotten fried
kaboom
Yeah like if your outlets get hit with too much current/voltage or when power cuts out
Bro for 2k you can get a 9800x3d, 7900xtx b850, 32gb 6000 cl30 if you spend wisely and arent picky
no psu is fine i think the fans turn on rgb works on pc
in what world lol that ram kit is over $300 alone rn
This world
Have you SEEN current ram prices lol
you misread my statement
i was saying "in what world can u get that for $3k" cause ram is insane rn
PSU's have multiple voltage rails. Fans and RGB can usually run off the 5V rail even if others are dead, so it can look like it's working
XTX holy RDNA3 aged milk
a whole grand holy shit 😭
Yeah I definitely did
Sure if we count every bubble for tech prices then a pc like that is 5k. And even with a ram kit at 300 l, 7900xtx or 9070xt which are similar in performance can be had for 700 ish.
9800x3d for 450
And then you have 500 for a psu, case and other misc stuff.
other than the psu what could it be?
Motherboard would be my other guess
we are in a beautiful tech economy rn
well fuck that computer then. thanks for the help. it anyways had it coming being 5 yrs old and being used like crazy before being turned off for a while.
Damn the prices went down from when I built smh. I mean I still did get mine for $600 MSRP, but I could've saved $20🥲
You could always try taking it to like Geek Squad or something
For sure
I just figured since it was my first PC build I'd save up some extra and go all out for some future proofing
did i mention i dont live in america?
Oops my bad
ill just take it outside and pump the axe in it a few times
Exactly. You can get pretty much the best possible PC build for 2k except for like a 5080 or 5090. Unless youre one of yhe people who only buy the overpriced ASUS OC SUPER GAMER ULTRA RGB DUAL BIOS BS cards.
Mine was the cheapest 9070xt I could find since I'll just overlock it myself. Though I'm surprised of how massive of a heatsink it came with for the price. The PCB is only a 2 fan wide size, but it's a three fan heatsink. Card stays below 50°C playing BF6 at 1440p Ultra settings
If you dont mind hunting deals, using 2nd hand parts you can pretty much get it for 1500 as well
The only parts I wouldn't really mess with second hand are HDDs (if anyone still uses those), Motherboards, and PSUs
on 1 website it say my psu is compatible with the gpu i am buying but on a other it say its not.
any 1 experiance with a coolermaster MWE Gold 750 and a GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GAMING OC 16G
Buying a more expensive version of a card is most of the time a waste of money.
Better spend the extra money on a better CPU, more storage or a ram kit with better timings.
My whole pc is second hand including drives. Only my mobo is bought new back when I bought it.
Yeah I wish I was able to find a ram kit with better timing near me, but even the 6400 CL38 kit I got was $200 for 32GB. This was like just as the prices started doubling (now it's like tripled)
If youre EU just buy on Aliexpress. 6000 cl28 for like 210. Excl BFCM discount
Mrrp
Fair enough, it's just usually not worth the risk of messing with second hand PSU's imo. That's not to say it's always bad though, I mean it's most likely usually fine

If I would've bought online I def could've found a better kit for the price but my adhd was impatient and I bought my kit in store lol
It's Micron Die so I can't even tighten up the timings myself
I am just debating on either upgrading from a 6700XT to a 9070XT or upgrading from AM4 5800x to AM5 with a b850, 9700X and 32Gb 6000 cl30.
Though with a 9800x3D I don't think RAM timings matter all that much
it matters less, yes
@opal dock i respect the username

What's the easiest way to transfer files from Android phone to ipad without using internet?
Theres an option to transfer from android
Harro ace :3
How?
Bluetooth and nearby share don't work
I'd probably go with the GPU upgrade for gaming but that's a tough choice so I'm not too sure
SurfShark
Never used it, ill find a guide from apple if i can
Ok

I may be able to get an R7 2700 & 16GB (either 2x8 or 1x16) by trading in my case, fans, and a USB WiFi Adapter I had lying around
