I'm surprised the battery still works. That said, all my Nintendo device's from over 15 years ago have Li-ION batteries that still hold some kind of charge so... who knows. Either way... old batteries are a dangerous game.

I wouldn't be like hey buy this FOR gaming, but it's not like back in the day where if you wanted to do any gaming the igp was absolute dog 💩. LUNAR LAKE igp was really good.

And it gives you that bandwidth that you're looking for, where you have battery efficiency doing basically really light tasks... like apple levels of efficiency (actually better in my use cases) .. but you have a little bit of igp power if you need to flex it.

Look if all you need is very basic applications so borderline Chromebook.. but you're looking for like something more premium than a $200 Chromebook I think Windows ARM makes sense as long as the price is low enough on the unit.

I think premium Chromebooks are really hard to justify above 350 US Dollars no matter how nice the feature set. Because Chrome OS is just Chrome Os.

But if you're looking for more premium features but you have a use case that's relatively light that's when I think Windows arm starts to make sense because then you have actual native applications (Microsoft office) .

Again assuming the price is correct.. please make sure you're looking at historical price data just cuz it says 80% off for Black Friday it does not mean it's actually 80% off the price it was a month ago...

Uhh it's just Intel's thin and light efficient work per watt chips are known as lunar Lake. Arrow lake has better performance but significantly worse battery life.

Lunar lake is fantastic at single threaded but does not do very well with multi-threaded tasks.

Arrow Lake does really good at multi-threaded tasks as well as single threaded.

I just went through a whole laptop saga.

In the end I ended up with a MacBook Pro because for the vast majority of my light duty tests I have all the battery life I need. But sometimes I need to do more intensive tasks and the Apple can do that (though she guzzles the battery when she does)

But lunar Lake just wasn't quite there when I needed to do slightly intensive tasks. and stepping up to arrow Lake hurt battery life more than I was willing to give up.

I will note that my particular lunar Lake was a heavily discounted 16 gig model... if it was 32 gigs I probably would have been more inclined to just keep it.... but I run so many Chrome tabs and the way that Windows 11 likes to use 16 gigs of memory we were constantly fighting.

And they gave it some terrible SSD in the unit, so anytime we hit the page file it was like 2006 all over again.... Everything became a slideshow

To me unless they're under $350 I don't have a reason to justify them.. because the problem is is you can get a used MacBook Air for $400 or less... And even if all you're doing is web browsing you're going to enjoy the MacBook Air more than the Chromebook...

I'll be honest, the oldest iPhone I Owned was the SE 1 and personally from what I have seen and researched, I didn't see much of a difference of the iPhones pre the iPhone 4 because the late 2000's didn't have a solid mobile infrastructure yet as smartphones were really expensive and niche for the average consumer, so many people still used flip/slider phones and Blackberries. The iPhone 4 pretty much changed all of that when they made much better app integration for various apps and mobile games much easier to use in 2010

. Unfortunately or unfortunately I was there.. og phone was $499 at the time if you bought something on contract you would pay about 90 for a BlackBerry.

The issue with OG was although it was the first like smartphone media consumption with apps not just mobile web.. being on EDGE made it unusable effectively whenever you try to watch YouTube... Additionally it was an AT&T exclusive for the mobile infrastructure issues are an AT&T issue..

3G increased the speed by like 300% of the mobile network.. but 3GS finally gave us a really good processor and they kept the price the same

then you had iPhone 4 which was the final AT&T exclusive thank God although that phone was stupid because you were holding it wrong it would just stop connecting to anything...

But, prior to that smartphones like Windows phone were all about getting work done . Blackberry could do some entertainment but it wasn't really amazing at it I mean it supported a lot of codec so that was cool. iPhone was the first like consumer centric smartphone.

At the time of iPhone 2G the LG chocolate for Verizon was taking off and that was a feature phone focused on media... I was there for all this 😭😭😭

I was literally in elementary school when all of these phones launched, so it's probably why I didn't have a strong opinion of these phones. I just ranked the phones pre-iPhone 4 in the same tier mainly because of the fact that they were ahead of their time back then, but the infrastructure (and relative pricing as a common good) wasn't really there for the average consumer to want to buy one over the average "dumbphone"
