if you haven't touched voltage, then it isn't overvolted
shroud = cover, nothing more nothing else, anyone saying otherwise be an idiot
lol 👍
a 5700g can pull anywhere between 0.9v and 1.5v
My 18 core xeon pulls ~0.875v
a hear me out is supposed to be unreasonable, that is the most reasonable purchase i have ever seen
Hi there, would somebody be up to help me choose between 2 monitors?
🥶
don't ask to ask, just ask
K, I wanna undervolt and the tutorial I am watching said that 1-1.1 is normal, I wanna undervolt mainly cus temps
I already have a powerful laptop with a 16" wqxga 165hz monitor with high srgb and RGB.
But my laptop is a little to far from me on my desk when coding. So I want a bigger monitor as second screen
For 60bucks I hesitate between the AOC 23.8" LED - 24B31H and the PHILIPS 24E2N1110. They have exactly the same specs on paper.
Seems legit
Legit🔥
don't try to manually undervolt it, there's no safe voltage for it, do PBO tuning with CO tuning
time to buy 60 of em and have a petabyte
cheapest petabyte ever
Erm, what is PBO and CO?
precision boost override, curve optimizer, you do these from bios
Precision Boost Overclock, essentially how your CPU uses the thermal and power headroom it has to boost as high as possible
Why do that when i can buy 4 of these
nvm this is clearly the better purchase
Won't that make it hotter?
Yes, yes it will
But that quite literally doesn't matter in the slightest
Its black chat
interesting
Quite literally does when its on the verge of 100C
yeah you have other problems if your CPU is almost at 100C
Lol, I did ask for ask because as always nobody responded.
if they have the same specs on paper, buy the cheaper one
Both same price but one is on discount.
But ion know what to do. I cant ask for a new cpu cooler cus I upgraded my gpu yesterday and my parents will think that I did something wrong and will yell at me and make me take it to a service place
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/H9CZxr/ same price, and runs a little faster
then get whichever looks better
what kind of CPU cooler?
Stock
or get the one on the discount cuz it'd theoretically be worth more
also your parents sound like truly lovely people
depends on how it's tuned, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't
So i was taking out a dvi to vga adapter, my standoff came out, i tried putting it back in, tightened too hard and uhh
Fucking hell, i hate the stupid screws on old video connectors
I thought this. However it'll be a lil more complicated for me to get it
a bit reluctant to buy from any site other than amazon... lol
just lazy to setup accounts is all.
How come
HOLY FUCKING SHIT BALLS, how the hell did you manage to do that
I have maybe 1 full thread left on it lmao... Fml
new egg is fine for you to buy from tbh
newegg is basically just like electronics amazon
this happens more than you think
Because I have a 40€ gift card that isn't valid for the aoc website
I was tightening it, and i heard click and shit fell out of my screwdriver shaft
i know, i'm just lazy to make an account for it. i suppose i should make one eventually, so might as well
so then why are you saying it's the same price.... 🤦♂️
why were you using a screwdriver???
finger tight is fine
How else am i gonna put it back?
$220 because the $30 off code
maybe a quarter turn with a screwdriver after
My fingers too big lel
Because logically I could just spend the gift car on regular shopping and buy the other monitor with the economies....
i saw, yes!
atp could you just look through my parts list? lol
send the link here
Looks like i should be able to push the old snapped off one out by screwing in a not snapped one
anything marked "purchased" is a part from my old pc that i'm not replacing
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8kscWc
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, Fractal Design Meshify 2 Mini MicroATX Mid Tower
Luckily i have
looks good, though gpu wise my own preference would have been a 9070xt
i want NVENC for recording & streaming
plus the cuda cores are nice as well
i also had a question - with switching out so many parts will I run into some issues with the SSD?
i don't see any issues as long as the ssd's firmware is updated
Doing more undervolting fun with shitty laptop, Yipee
win 11 24h2 and ssd death twice over is not fun
might i run into weird driver quirks and/or windows license issues?
i mean like, without wiping the SSD
DDU fix gpu driver issues, and you can always uninstall the drivers for your current mobo as it is before doing a swap over
I see okay
I'll come back here for help before doing that then lol. No idea what to do about that
as for licensing, if you used a microsoft account to log into windows originally, then it should reactivate it
if not, there are always ways around it for free
I installed an SSD that went from a 2060 to 3070ti and an older Intel to 13600k and it has issues now
I don’t feel like fixing them
tbf, a clean install is usually the better way of doing it
but, with the way win10 and win 11 are, you don't have to always do that
yeah but i have a lot of random shit setup on my pc i'm not trying to reinstall
i'd look into a better cooler, then look into doing actual tuning for the cpu
i do recommend to always have games on a secondary drive
oh? how come? wouldn't they run faster/better on the first drive as it has better transfer speeds etc...
if windows fucks up, you don't have to reinstall everything
also less wear on the main drive
and no, transfer speeds means nothing for the games tbh
you won't be beating a sata ssd for speeds when gaming
hell even for the OS itself you're not beating a sata ssd
yes, seriously, the difference between a sata ssd and a nvme drive for loading a game is 0.01 seconds
something you'll never notice, nor will make a difference
also the higher the sequential speed is, you won't have any advantages
with nvme's you don't even need dram cache
either way, i'd rather not do a fresh install because there's a ton of random bullshit and settings i'd rather not redo. what's the best way to just transfer things directly, given i'm replacing my motherboard, gpu, cpu?
sata ssd's, sure dram cache is a benefit, but on nvmes, none for the average user, only in production work does it have an advantage
pretty much, and if you use steam, there's a function built in for you to transfer games over between drives
sorry so what's the best way to transfer things directly?
ignore the last line lol
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6M32v4
can someone help me find black friday upgrades for my PC this is my current PC
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, Lian Li LANCOOL 217 ATX Mid Tower
hey, do yall reckon it'd be easier to just buy every single part for brand new PC and sell my entire old PC
and how do you guys recommend picking out a case?
@rigid fjord hey sorry to bother, are you still there? i had some questions and you seem pretty knowledgable
If your current pc is really old then you don't really have a choice
For the case just pick out something that looks good to you and has a mesh front panel
not that old, i built it in early 2023 iirc
and the mesh front panel is very important?
You want good airflow
If you are going for a fish tank case then it will be part of the back panel
Specs?
gpu, cpu, ram, mobo are all getting replaced anyways.
i'm mainly talking case + cpu cooler (which is a fractal design meshify 2 mini, and a peerless assassin)
Good case and a good cooler
Should probably get more case fans since my new build might run hot
Right now literally only running stock fans (140mm in the front, 120mm in the back)
I was thinking of getting this case: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zysV3C/lian-li-lancool-207-atx-mid-tower-case-lan207rx. Good amount of stock fans & doesn't look bad at all
or maybe a Fractal North and I'll just get my own fans
still about, but many other knowledgable people here, i be also off cooking food
i see
i never understood how to install additional case fans, or what sort of fans to get / placement etc..
what's your current full system specs?
the basics for what you want happening inside your case for airflow
currently i'm running 3060 ti, ryzen 5 5600
also fan wise, my personal go to, is arctic fans
yes i've looked at them before
then you're still golden and could just upgrade the gpu
i was told it would get massively bottlenecked by the CPU 😅
how about these? ^^^
whoever said that is a fucking idiot
oh 😭
perfect, you could even go to the newer p12 pro pst's
i'm running an rx590 with my r5 5600x, i could pair a 5090 with the 5600x and be fine
yes this is an old pickout i did maybe a year ago
i'm running 5600, not 5600x
same difference
?!
yup, a 5600x = 5600 with a letter added to it and a 200mhx extra boost
performance wise, no noticable difference between the 2
😭 so you don't think it will get bottlenecked at all, the 5070 ti i'd like to get
it wouldn't no
i see okay
people missuse the word 'bottleneck'
and then, i currently have 2 stock fans in my PC rn, should I use them as well as the new fans or take the stock ones out and replace with the new?
peopel also use 'bottleneck' calculators, and that's on the same level as UBM for reviews/benchmarks
what fan arrangement should I use if I buy 5 fans
You can mix fans as much as you want
personally, replace 'em
2-3 on the front, and 2 for top/rear
then create a custom fan curve with either the mobo's own software or using remo's fan control
i'm not sure if my case has space for top fans 😭😭 cooler takes up soo much space already
just opened up my pc. need to do some dusting.
you have the meshify 2 right?
meshify 2 mini, which is the mATX mid tower version
so, 2 front, 2 top, 1 rear
and for cleaning dust off of non-electronic components (the case) do i need to use a microfiber cloth?
hey guys sorry to bother but, ah yes thanks linus
oh yeah i saw this 😭
meshify 2 mini shown with one of the biggest air coolers in the case @ancient shale
do you think i can fit top fans?
easily doable
meanwhile the one they actually forgot the PPI destroyer (Q24G2A)
got it. would i need to remove mobo before installing
nope, you could wiggle it around the cooler as you've got it currently
If I get a fan hub should I plug in cpu fan or chassis fan?
chassis
chassis fan header
Oh ok how many fans can a header talk to?
21/22" as well as 20" 1080p exists as well so not surprised that 24" 1440p exists LOL
i wish 22 did at 1440p i dont understand who makes these things
i7-4600U 😈
i7 8700
8840HS for me in laptop form
What game?
i need a new laptop
Heck there are plenty of 15.6" 1080p monitors
this one just thermal throttles too much
keeps hitting 97C even after changing thermal paste and cleaning out the fans/vents
Pretty sure there are some 15.6" 1600p monitors
thats a tablet not a monitor bro...
a single header is rated for 1A usually, so you never want to go above that, it's recommended to never do more than 3 fans per header, however that can differe depending on fan manufacturer
my gpu started glitching out and then i crashed while running minecraft again😭
idk whats making it unstable
drivers?
Even with sata power?
8845hs also you mean
its normal for a laptop the way you push it its mc...
im talking about just regular usage
I heard alot about how gpu prices are going to rise soon and im starting to get worried. So I was wondering should I buy my gpu on black friday/cyber monday or buy it now
laptop gets all happy boosts to 3.5GHz and then halts like it hits a brick wall and thermal throttles down to 2.4GHz cap
that makes a large difference, and if you're using a powered hub, then you could put enough fans on it to cover for 5A, if it was molex powered you'd do enough fans to cover for up to 11A
Uh so no power bc I only can install 2 more
hey what's the difference between:
- Arctic P12 "Fluid Dynamic Bearing" fans https://www.microcenter.com/product/600916/arctic-cooling-p12-fluid-dynamic-bearing-120mm-case-fan-5-pack
- Arctic P12 Pro PST fans https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DJDDCG4M
install cashyOs linux ig
all a powered hub needs to communicate with the mobo is the tachometer sensor wire and pwm wire
So no power extra can go Fans?
the p12's are DC fans, p12 pwm pst and p12 pro pst are 4 pin pwm fans that also daisy chain
second hand market, what are you rolling with now?
just wanted to come on here and ask if anyone else is having the problem with windows 11 where if you have 2 different wallpapers for your 2 monitors it keeps setting both of them to the same one when you leave it alone for 10 minutes
did i format the smart data or what
the power is from the sata/molex connector on the hub instead, you don't want the power being sent back to the mobo itself
when you say daisy chain, that means like, it can connect off one header to the motherboard, and then the others connect to each other?
yes
My laptop is a 8840HS based one so not fully but I wouldn't mind a 8845HS based mini pc for a HTPC setup
my san disk went from 240gb to 220 when i used to have it as OS drive lol lots of windows 10 refreshes
this is on the end of the fans that daisy chain
ah i'll figure it out
well windows has its own definition of a gigabyte
Oh ok am i fine with it?
like these
you should be yes
nothing to do with that its just rewrites
Ah ok thx for help :3
ah maybe recovery partitions and stuff
idk actually just guessing
i see. and what does that mean exactly
usage bits get 'stuck' cant be go back from 1 to 0 or 0 to 1 aver a certain amount of times
even though this shows for the argb version, if you ignore what it shows for the argb plugh, and focus on the fan plug side, you can connect them like this
Check partitions in disk management
i'm so confused rn
several fans of a single header
rgb connector ❌
argb connector ✅
A rgb
you don't want to plug argb fan into rgb header because it could fry the fan if there is a lack or if the safety features fail
and the mb could just send 12v into the 5v circuits like it's ok
fakeeeeeeeeee
My PSU has had problems before, you guys reckon it can handle this?
"has had problems"
yeah okay i understand
A R G B
bin it
it used to just shut off randomly for no reason 😭 stopped out of nowhere.
ARR GIGABYTE
Like drinking to much
ngl id say bin it but in all honestly id keep using it too
MSI Wargbberger
💔 i was thinking of buying the corsair 750e
Argb maxxing
Buy 1800W thoe
1800w 95+ diamond mining psu
consider checking the spl psu tierlist, look up retailers for their whole psu portfolio and then check the list what tier it is
rm750e is good tho
yeah it's rank A iirc?
Tier A Blue highlight - Quiet operation under moderate load
it tends to be loud, poor qc from hong hua
like don't be surprised if the rme arrives with an audibly rattly fan out of the box
bruh
quick yes or no
damn
Isn't 6400 better than 6000
ramageddon prices bro
Used?
then what psu can i go for? need 750+ watts with a good price & psu tier list rating, and no... rattle...
brand new
I'd rather stay with my nugget 1151 6th gen PC than buy RAM at these prices brand new
i've had so many xpg core reactors I & II, one cooler master mwe v2 gold, corsair units with ha1225h12f-z that i can say you're more likely to get a loud unit of a psu with that fan than quiet one
Buy second hand
corsair and cl30 tho
💔 what PSU has a quiet fan then
Buying RAM at the price of a GPU is lowkey stupid
the more expensive units less valued based psus tend to have better fans
sorted by 80+ gold at my micro center... no results 💔
Is 6000 vs 6400 like 3000 vs 3200, or like 3200 vs 3600?
such as 💔
bequiet
hey so real quick i need some help- i have a desktop with i7 12700kf with 6800xt - I have $1600 to spend at micro center because of a gift card, i need to get a solid laptop for school but should i use the extra money and upgrade my gpu or save for later?
i have a bequiet psu right now and it is pretty quiet, but it's had like random power failures out of nowhere before 😭
more like the latter comparison
should be quieter
is it worth it to get a 850w PSU, in case I ever want to upgrade? even though 750w is well enough to cover my 5070 ti
wdym?
3200 and 3600
is that too expensive?
probably
a bit yes
a little extra never hurts
Looking at the Wi-Fi 7 cards, there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between an $80 and a $40 pcie card. Am I just being blind/hasty?
depends on the model
for an extra 5 bucks i can get 850w of the same model: https://www.amazon.com/quiet-Certification-semi-Passive-Technology-Overclocked/dp/B0FBY3F1NT/
Pure Power 13 M 850W is a high-performance, ATX 3.1-compliant power supply, fully compatible with PCIe 5.1 GPUs. With 80 PLUS Gold certification and up to 94.4% efficiency, it delivers reliable power while minimizing energy loss and heat. A silent 120mm semi-passive be quiet! fan ensures ultra-qu...
i can tell you which psus have a meh fan but can't quite tell you which budget ones have a good one
Seriously, buy used RAM
acceptable y
Don't pay twice the price for a stupid basic 2x16 6000/30 kit
my planned rig is 509 watts, could even run off of my current 550w PSU 😭
used a rx 6600 is 250 ish euros here so maybe try your luck there
I got 6700 XT for this price an year and a half ago
A used 6600 is like 140€
avoid if you care abt potential noise
oh well half of fans in budget B-A tier psus aren't ideal
that's estimated when it comes to pdpp, not an exact amount
ding ding thank you idk modern gpu but i found them for 150 now gg
pdpp?
pcpp**
Back when these money could buy you a 1070
windows is bitlockering every fucking drive i plug in raaaaahhh im trying to sell these
Those were the times
ehh buyer cna figure it out fuck it
should i spend an extra $5 to get 850w, or just should get 750w
im still rocking an r9 390 msi 8gig
i guess new 3090 price is 700 euros, i got mine for 500
5$ why not
What's the brand? Certificate?
Hi everyone, I'm looking for a new blue case for the OnePlus 13 and I've come across the the Nilkin Super Frosted Shield Pro for the OnePlus 13. The reviews are great but however a Redditor made a video in which he or she mentions that there is a gap between the edge of the display and the case. He uploaded that video to a post over here: https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/1myt7j6/oneplus_13_case_comparison_nillkin_vs_ringke/
Does anyone else have the Nilkin Super Froster Shield Pro for the OnePlus 13? And if you have it can you confirm that what the Redditor mentions in his post and video is true? Can you lastly recommend the mentioned case to me lastly?
Thanks for your time and answers in advance!
850w is a much cooler number
very sad such old card is 700 on the second hand market
get a 9070xt for that lol
assuming its the same quality
minimum
average is 800
be quiet brand, 80+ gold
disagreed but okay
Tell use the two models
fake
Bump with two examples:
$80: TP Link TBE 550E
$40: MSI Herald-BE
3/4 sounds better than 17/20 @craggy cove
be quiet! 13 M 850W fully modular 80+ gold
be quiet! 13 M 750W fully modular 80+ gold
Same models
I did tell you
Get the 850W lol
but 5 extra bucks 💔
plus i have to order it from amazon as opposed to my micro center
what do you mean back then the 1070 was 600
the 750w one is not worth it
Talking about used market
and 850w is prob overkill for you
right but 750w sounds like compromise 850w is so eshseuoffh
Aye it isn't
slobbering over 850w rn
Get 850W
Pretty good deal rn for Black Friday, usually the 850W is 130 USD
lies
i just bought my r9 390 8gig new man idk nvidia always seems expensive
do not make my mistake.
rtx 5060 ti also has 8gbs of vram, cant see the problem here
10 years later yup tots normal lol
Remember when 580 8GB was an overkill compared to the 4GB ver? And nobody recommended it
game devs are thicc aswell with their un opti garbo
wow what a coincidence
because when you have a R9 390 no need to upgrade artifacting? melting vram pcb portion, just repaste and send it lol
still does 100 fps in beam ng
high power draw = high bills ez
bigger numier bettere
i plugged in the dickhead drive, if i touch it, it explodes
meanwhile the 1060 3gb was gimped in more ways than the vram
1050 ti xt
300w idle and? lmao
crystaldiskinfo doesnt like this drive and this drive doesnt like crystaldiskinfo
I prefer 3-fan R9 280X
even older wow my msi was one of the first to put led sooo yeah
295x2
Louder than your wife
mine is hotter then your mother
????????????????????????
i hope that was over 10 years ago, because if you paid new prices for it now, someone will need to slap some sense into you
The chip being different but NVIDIA selling them both as 1060
970 with 0.5gb of fake vram
ill put this image on the drive and ill see what happens
artifacting and burnt PCB doesnt happen in a jiffy lol
#nvidiadidnothingwrong
1650 being the worst GPU ever, absolute pile of garbage
Why did 1650 Super got discontinued
you haven't seen some of the nvidia cards have you?
12 pin
Still better than 1030 DDR4
yep it exploded
thats why ill go rx 9070tx next
when did ram become so expensive
1 its 64 gigs 2 6000 mhz plus rgb why are you even surprised man its hell out there dude
5090 astral btw
So i sold someone a rx 5700 xt gaming pc a while a go, they messaged me they good a new monitor, and its a lg ultragear 4k monitor. They told me theres no sound from the speakers. I thing theres bigger fish to fry here, any advice?
i got this exact RAM december of last year for 90USD, now look
I cant just tell them to get a 1080p monitor
1 the seller, 2 it's 64gb, 3, its' a 6000 cl30 kit, 4, the upcharge in dram ic's that make vram/ram
its 130 to 200 euro here so idk tbh tarifs ig
That’s wild
I still can’t believe my 96GB kits are worth 400+ each now
Sounds like their problem now, if it’s been a while
Most likely a problem with the monitor, not the PC
Its been like a year
tariffs on tech were already lifted
But i told him if he has any problems i csn help
Yeah, I don’t offer support after around 3 months usually
And I’ve sold 75+ PC’s atp
9070 xt or 5070 ti?
Bump x2
team red
Do you want ray tracing
it'd be pretty nice yeah
Then the 5070 Ti would be better at it
569.99 USD?
The NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti delivers strong performance in Cyberpunk 2077, especially with ray tracing and path tracing enabled. At 1440p, it achieves 57 fps
The AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT demonstrates strong performance in Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing enabled, particularly when paired with FSR 4 upscaling and frame generation. At 1440p resolution, the card achieves an average of 68 fps... brave ai
uhoh sycophant or real ill verify later
Well yah frame gen
no frame gen vs frame gen probably gonna get higher FPS with frame gen
i see fair, i want beam ng in vr not raytracing
I wish I had a wheel for beamng
And maybe even pedals
Would make the game a lot more fun
my t150 is falling appart so ps5 controller will do until i get that t500 new thingy
its crazy how much the ram prices have gone up each one of my ram kits i bought for £160 are now £434 each
i can't wait for foveated rendering to become more of a widespread thing for VR
And probably gonna keep riding as supply is squeezed
a 330usd kit i bought last year is now 1150usd
i wonder how much my ram would cost in the us now lol
I can’t seem to find a good average price
But I bought two of these kits for F5-6800J3446F48GX2-RS5K $250 total excluding taxes
Early this year
Auction on eBay, today they’re a lot more
my kit is 4x32 6000 mts cl30 so it would be about $810 in the us now
Google shows $600 each kit now
That’s wild
Which one?
2x48 6000 cl30 venegeance
how is that more expensive than my kit
How is that more expensive than my kit
what is your kit?
no idea, maybe cause it's a speed that will actually run on am5
look at that for an increase on the ram lol
What’s with the AMD IMCs being so dookie?
ask amd
what capacity?
Interesting
i mean 4 dimm kits are dum
That’s my kit on PCPP
Not if you want stable 4 dimms
Instead of mixing
you shouldn't be running 4 dimms to begin with, especially on am5
mines stable and ive overclocked it all manually
what do u mean
What gear is it running in
Like 2:1, 4:1
I don’t think you’ll be running gear 2 on AM5 with 4 dimms tbh
Especially if you’re OC’ing
where does it say
Your BIOS
Or maybe in an application like CPU-Z that shows memory stuff also
Not sure about the second part though I forgot
i think its gear 2
You think or know? Show
doesnt that mean it is
That’s 1:1
thats half my actual speed
5200MT/s
yes
it could probably go further than 5200mts it just takes 15 minutes to memory train each time i do anything in the bios
ive had literally no issues in the long time ive ran it
Did you run memory benchmarks?
Yea
You could be seeing no issues but there could be still errors
You must’ve hit the lottery I don’t think it’s that easy for AM5 to run 1:1 with 4x32 at 5200
Yea but my cpu still runs at 95c lol
I have to install fans specifically for my RAM
My old undervolt just removed its self for no reason
They get too hot when overclocking and so they start erroring
I bet I could hit 6000MT/s if they had adequate cooling
I’m talking about mine ^^^
oh ok
Yah mb message was split
I gotta stop typing like this
But yah there was getting toasting, I think the low 90s?
Or maybe even mid
This was months ago I don’t remember but @azure topaz is the RAM OC master
I finally got some money to play with floppa, I will buy a better mobo and cpu for better IMC + active ram cooling
guys, should i get 9600x & 5070ti or 7800x3d & 5070
i know my rams got more in it i just cant be bothered waiting all that time for it to train
Yah I can’t imagine the memory training times on am5
I was already waiting many minutes on my 13900kf
idk how they make am5 run so stupidly hot too
PBO
And I had 192gb, imagine you did 💀
like i dont even need to run my fans 99% of the time even when its at 95c because the cooler doesnt get hot
and a chonky IHS
AM5 can do 100C right? Instead of 95 like Intel?
with fans on 200rpm or 2000 rpm it makes no difference to temperatures
Check if the ram die is Hynix
If it is just try to copy a buildzoid preset
reverse
max temp isn't what temp the cpu actually runs at
my cooler can cool a 250w intel chip easily but 120 watts on amd is too much
cant they just make it better
So AM5 runs hotter than Intel but more efficient?
yes
how does that work
You’d think heat dissipation is less efficient
it is, that's why the delta has to be higher
i may as well just set my fans to run as slow as possible all the time
or set them to the gpu sensor
crazy how the 5090 founders edition is considerably smaller than my card, quieter, draws 1.5x more power
idk why manufacturers dont just make efficient designs instead of massive bricks
Oh man I can’t wait for the big build I have planned, 169CFM for the fans
you say that like it's easy to make efficient designs
It’s these 140s https://pcpartpicker.com/product/bMxxFT/iceberg-thermal-icegale-xtra-169-cfm-140-mm-fans-2-pack-icegale14x-a2a
i wish there was more stock of founders cards so i could have a nice small card
Bump x3
who is actually spending like 40% more than msrp to get an assus brick
genius idea
Hard wire
no way I "have" privacy
well you would probably need aluminium supports
other than that and the electronics, yeah
You can’t 3d print electronics yet? Booo
prusa 3d prints parts for their 3d printers
yeah you can
it's just not economical
I meant with a regular 3d printer
how are you gonna print copper with a normal 3d printer?
i mean you can probably feed enameled copper through lol
The same way you can do other metal 3d printing?
you can't 3d print metal.. on a normal printer
your printer is NOT hitting 2000c
yeah but that wouldn't be a "regular 3d printer"
Why not
poo is being sold for 380€
DIY it to have a hotter nozzle
copper melts at 1500c 😭
Yo that GPU sag is crazy for that thin of a card
that's a h&s violation having 1500c in such a small package
Wait nvm im seeing stuff

typa toolhead you need for that temp
Then let’s ignore any laws
slightly faker metal 3d printing
Is there a conductive metal that would melt with a regular 3d printer?
There has to be
oh here's your homemade one
See I told you am genius
gallium and gold i guess..
gallium not effective as a wire and gold is only used for stuff like ENIG plating
I like how after I run a ram stress test my idle ram drops from 24gb to 11gb
Then we have a start
Guys do I wait for the 10 billion core next gen intel?
Or just go with core ultra
Tf is even happening with Nova Lake? Is it still gonna be like (16p + 8e + 2lp) * 2?
52 core consumer CPU
I lied
16p 32e 4lp
Whats happening with many core arm cpus I haven't heard anything in a while other than amperes 512 core cpus
i know there were systems being made with like 4 of them per server
i think it had like 12 ram channels and could do about 6tb per cpu
at am5 memory training speeds that would be 12 hours per cpu
i havent heard anything from them in a long time anyway
im guessing if it isnt good for ai no one is interested anymore
will i run into any major issues running a 5070 ti with only 1 140mm intake and 1 120mm exhaust fans?
Probably not
Can't. Power lines are too old to be better than WiFi and I'm on the opposite end of the building + separate floor
You wont have any major issues anyway if it overheats it will just reduce clocks until it can hold temperature
👍 thanks guys. i'm just wondering because my fans take a lot longer to ship than the rest of my parts, so like a week i will be with only stock fans
Depends on your case and specific graphics card manufacturer too
does the building have tv caoxial running through it?
I got a phone cable for dial up.
i know youre looking for wifi but theres probably coaxial running through the building and it would almost certainly offer lower latency and faster speeds especially across the building and between floors
nothing like the top circular one?
as for the pcie cards, as long as theyre the same chip, the price difference shouldnt matter too much
https://youtu.be/86LnUk2Dk50 hmmmm?
The streets of Discord just got more lethal because there's a new Discord ban exploit that allows you to ban anyone on Discord....
But is there a catch? It this even real? And how does this exploit even work?
Well, unfortunately you can be a complete Discord noob and figure out how to do this. And to make things even worse, I don't even think ...
yo got a question i buy power is a good or bad pc brand cuz im getting mixed reviews from my freind?
solidly mediocre
build yourself
mid
aight
yah build it yourself, will turn out cheaper and youll learn something
cuz i found these specs for 1500 and was wondering if it worth
i just thought it looked fishy cuz it doesn’t specify the motherboard and other parts
well it definitely seems to be a more competative pricing
actually, nvm im looking now
my idea there was quite possibly the worst aio config ive sene
Oh no, the house is much older than that. We did have a cable once upon a time leading from the wall to the outside box, but Xfinity snipped it when we no longer used it
wow, assholes
this one does have gpu sag however
why do some matx boards not have the pcie x16 in the 1st slot
put some books or something under it 😭
so goofy
Yeah.. I've been tempted to connect and pull the cable through with a new one attached.
you can fit like a triple a battery under that
personally i use hundreds of 300mah lithium batteries as packing material
i just did something very similar through a pillar
Hmm...
there was existing cable that I tied some ethernet to and just pulled as hard as I could
CPU cooler clearance afaik
took about half an hour, finally got it through
kept getting stuck because the pillar was filled with existing cable
Ah, wonderful. There's essentially nothing there to my knowledge.
do also consider that most ATX boards put the 1st x16 in slot #2 as well
why?
the exception is boards that have 4 of them, which basically dont exist today (except for HEDT/workstation, where theres usually more than 4)
also cooler clearance afaik
ive never seen that tbh
i usually see the top slot is x16 in x16 mode with gen 5
then the bottom 2 are x16 in x4 mode
the brackets have a defined location, the primary x16 doesn't
im saying that the top/primary x16 slot is the second bracket
first one
heat speader is very thick to maintain am4 cooler compatibility
i hope am5 does not get the same fate
am6 oops
I would rather buy a new cooler amd have lower temps than have the shit we have now
u guys think £115 is a decent amount for a 7600x? im selling my old one, idk if i should accept the offer tho ngl
yeah they’re technically all compatible
so, with a slightly different hole pattern, AM2 coolers work on AM5
oh, yea, clip coolers exist, i forget about those things
for the life of me I cant find a board with 2 x16 slots that run in either x16/x0 or x8/x8 and an x4 slot also
doesn’t exist
Why dont they just make the board thicker and ihs thinner
intel/amd shenanigans
i just cant find one with an extra x4
this is called pcie bifurcation
yah, we talked about it some months ago
yeah
wait lemme ask AI its gotten much better since hten
idk if there’s any boards with 20 lanes for the user like dat
maybe 2x16 and a nvme slot
i need also 4 nvme slots
and now you’re out of lanes
8 lanes assuming drives run at 2 lanes each
16 for the main pcie slots
4 for your extra slot
can you run drives at x1
depending on your board it is possible i think
yeah i’m pretty sure
28 lanes, cpus give 20
then it could work, isnt that still like 2GB/s per drive?
board surely gives 8 but how they decide to use those lanes is unfortunately beyond you
something like that
yah it fucking sucks
yeah i doubt you’re finding a board with all of that
but id like the ability to have 2 GPUs and an HBA
The extra GPU is for quick swapping when I dev my Hyper-V scripts
so just x16 and then x4 x4?
the other card doesn’t need to be out into an x8 slot just an x16 physical
something like this
im upgrading cpu
as listed in the spec somewhere lol
265k z890 ocf
285k
wait the taichi ocf can do x16 x8 and x4
oh but only 1 nvme
wait no
huh? how is there so many and it has x16 and x8 without bifurcation?
its perfect
it’s bifurcating them for sure i think
main slots share lanes
it dont say anything about sharing tho
rest don’t
i literally can go find out 💀😭
ah
please check
read the manual yourself first i’m about to walk to the store
bruh
loser
ill just ask perplexity im too lazy
😭😭
Thats my (18 minus 7) yo cousins build that he got fr running roblox and valorant….. hes using a 60Hz monitor because he doesn’t understand refresh rate… it was 1.8k$
🥀
tuff?
not fast enough
how much do u expect?
why did ram prices have to skyrocket now
10 billion
because AI nerds
idots fr
i aint got god's pc bro
when i was just about to pull the plug to buy a new pc
(im one of them but I bought early this year before the increase)
same
yessir
i had them running 5600MT/s stable in gear 2 but I broke that so its just running the JEDEC default speed
upgrading CPU and Motherboard so I can OC to 6000MT/s
keep in mind the ocf only has 2 dimm slots
bruh
there’s a non ocf taichi
why would you recommend a board with 2 slots to me
see if that fits the bill
currently dont need more than 32gb rn but i want to build a new nas, and atp ram is prob costing more than my cpu+mobo :/
i forget you’re a 4 slot freak
i did it because it was a crazy deal
$250 for the 4 dimms
thats cheap
took many months of just watching ebay auctions hoping someone would miss it
i bought the microcenter bundle early last year
hp greenies rated for 4800 in this board doin 8600
theyre just not as nerdy as you
wait floppa didnt you say you dont like asrock
why do you have the taichi ocf
might be cooked that i already have a case, psu and aio ready for my build but no cpu, mobo and ram 💀
nah
329$ oc board
no lol
no
oh I see why its got one less slot
good question but that made me laugh
they have their own lanes
could be io changes, etc
this fast enough for you?
READ: bw=21.3GiB/s (22.9GB/s), 161.0MiB/s-184.0MiB/s (168.0MB/s-193.0MB/s), io=1280GiB (1374GB),
WRITE: bw=9996MiB/s (10.5GB/s), 75.6MiB/s- 82.8MiB/s ( 79.3MB/s- 86.8MB/s), io= 586GiB ( 629GB),
ay
@azure topaz your kind words pls
not fast enough
thats 6, and you have 2+4, because chipset
why made you laf
all 4 on the chipset can be used at x4 speeds individually
however, they all share an x4 link back to the CPU from the chipset, so you can get at most x4 from them combined at once
you’re telling me 100GB/s+ configs are fitting thru a handful of pcie lanes
well anyway my point is I want x16 x8 x4 slots and 4 nvme
this wouldve been the perfect board
that was using most of that server's resources to bench that, its not going to go that much faster
maybe theyre super special lanes
wait for 64gb sticks to come out
not pcie anymore is it
they already exist but im not spending more
my own kits cost $700/each now
i meant for like xhewpet
oh
said server, its no slouch
mid cpu
i have a 10700 if that means anything
have you tried upgrading so you can OC RAM higher?
or would it not help
you think i have a 10700 in my daily
idfk you said you have a 10700
oh servers
my server lol
i forgot you plebs dont daily on your server
i have z890
yea, and i have a 3570k
is that half a terabyte of ram?
yes, yes it is
it is fast computer
yah servers can do a lot of ram
i daily 9000 ram
8x64GB
i am aware. I was making sure my eyes weren't deceiving me and reading a extra character
51.2gb ram yes
crazy amount fr
my dream r940 build was 8x32gb ddr4 with 4 sockets doing 28 cores each thats 224 threads
wait, you dont have another computer to be your server?
heh, ive got more threads from one CPU
my tiny server
no, my main rn once upgraded will be the server for everything, basically it will have VMs with my 4090 paravirtualized to each VM
2x4tb hdds just brrrr-in away
ive run that kind of setup, its not perfect
on Hyper-V, I built my own script to automate this process https://github.com/DanielChrobak/Hyper-V-GPU-Manager
chrobak more like
though i did it on KVM
you’re telling me i can split my uhd 630 in half
yes
uhd 315
old yeah
but it can run vanilla minecraft at a stable 60fps at 1080p with medium settings
so its a beast tbh, and its undervolted
yeah hSwell isn’t too slow
it’s got avx2 and such. it’s what i consider the bare minimum nowadays
i find it crazy though, can do like 10 chunks in render and 8 simulation
and fancy graphics
it was fun, got to install modded bios
yah stuff that old is always more fun cause we figure out most of the cool stuff like 10 years too late
Is Crucial X10 a good external ssd?
Yo im back
Hey it’s coming up to Christmas and I wanted to buy my girlfriend a new gpu because she doesn’t really play graphically intense games but she likes Minecraft shaders and intense Skyrim graphics mods which she currently can’t run, does anyone know if nvidis cards are better for this? Idk if shaders use tensor cores or not, would anyone be able to recommend a new gpu for her?
Is it posable to just install windows to that spare 512 and boot off that than uninstall windows off the 1tb?
@azure topaz actually the regular taichi will work
its got only x16 and x4 slot but the x16 supports riser card for x8/x8 or x8/x4/x4
well yeah thats how pcie bifur works lol
oops
i think i mixed that up in my head when I was searching
i was thinking of the lane sharing
so like 2 x16s was either x16/x0 or x8/x8
wtf is a girlfriend
lol
thanks for the help sigma
i will see if I can find a good price first
should do above 6k hopefully
my inner jew must be satisfied
check the site i told you in dms
how tf is this board in the rog series
rog prebuilds generally were terrible in that era
my only question
why is the cmos battery slot photoshoppped in
quite poorly
prob cause they used a stock photo
but its
but aliexpress mobos dont come with cmos batteries
there in th e stock photo
in the stock photo there is a cmos battery prob
youre a cmos battery
kinda still suck
yah
find my cr2032s.
am i supposed to have them at home or loot them from other electronics
i do the 2nd one
stole one from a guitar tuner to use in a b550m
incredible
theee uss invadin venezuela for oilll
they want the newly discovered bingoid fields
hearts and minds
Oil is everything
Trying to find what's going on my cousin's PC, it's randomly turning off. PSU issue?
probably
i think you got a randomizer in your PSu
does it turn off under a heavy load?
Probably GPU taking more from the PSU than it has
or its just a bad power supply
Or overheating
It just turns off doing barely anything. One chrome tab open, one download running. Some times it doesn't even get to desktop
yeah probably psu then
Yea PSU is dying i guess
check if its thermal throttling in the bios
GPU is a GT730, it doesn't it have a power connector
maybe its hitting tj max at 105c
this doesnt matter
should be able to read cpu temp
if its at like 70+ c it could be thermal shutdown instead
This BIOS is ass, it doesn't have temps
ok here
I'm gonna reseat the cables and if it doesn't help I'll tell him his PSU is failing
if the system shuts down faster the 2nd time trying after a while of letting it cool down
its thermal shut down
if it doesnt and its truly random its psu
But I managed HWinfo once, it was 70°+ but it didn't seem to be thermal throttling
Thermal shut down it just shut downs, right? It doesn't reboot?
probably depends
i have a chieftec psu that shut down 10 sec after reaching windows but somehow survived an entire bios update
i did the bios update cause the seller told me it was a mobo issue for some reason
hey, can y'all help me find some good DDR5 RAM with RGB for a good price?
i saw these which look pretty good but i heard the vengeance line was unstable?
Yeah I'll rule it out as the PSU
Can anyone help me with upgrading to windows 11?
I cant seem to find out why it deems my pc not fullfilling of the min specs.
Specs:
CPU: I5-10400f
GPU: RTX 3060 12GB
RAM: 32GB 3200mhz
2.5tb total storage
Secure boot + TPM 2.0 are enabled.
For War thunder?
No why? Havent played in ages, i was doing tpm 2.0 and secureboot anyways for bf6 and thought might aswell just do the windows 11 aswell at this point
Ah ok wana know or do you know what came in last updates
Bro if i cared id check myself idiot
mean 🙁
Strange
Like i only need to do is to get a 3000 series ryzen or 5000 one
then i can also get win 11
how are you trying to upgrade
Like i dont get it (Its german if you wana translate)
thru the app?
try just downloading the windows 11 iso, extracting it, then running the setup.exe inside
should allow you to upgrade in place
Left "your pc currently dosnt fulfill the minimum requirements" right "this pc fullfils the requirements"
Hey y'all, quick question. Someone I know lost their S20 FE and they now need a replacement. Would it be better to go for a new S25 FE for $475 US or an eBay Refurbished S25 for $430 US? I'm leaning towards the latter, but I don't know if it'll compromise on water resistance or the like.
s25 is 6.2" and has a better chip
s25 fe is 6.7" and has an exynass chip
so idk probably s25
unless the small screen is a problem
Nah smaller screen is better, just worried about the water resistance
i would assume they glued it back correctly
so it would also be water resistant, yes
well you pull the old glue/seal off like string cheese
then apply a new one
or thats my idea of it
gonna replace my first battery when it arrives
can someone help me with Xiaomi G Pro 27i vs Q27G3XMN in #peripherals
RAM prices are getting worse and worse... when is this gonna stop please
My gskill 6000mhz costed me $199 on Nov 2. Now they're $256
outperforming the s&p 500 💪
when the bubble pops
Please?
manufacturing is not getting increased any time soon
one of the smallest price hike's i've seen in ram pricing
my ram kit went from 330usd to 1150usd
you guys dont know this but weve had a shortage of dram literally every major gen
d4 was insanely expensive upon release
Idk, I lucked out by striking a deal on a second hand pair that were brand new. I got the deal like right after the prices hiked. Not the best but it worked at least
oh no i'm aware, hence why i'm just waiting for it to drop again
read the rtings reviews and decide whats more important for you
although bdie (my goat) is still pretty cheap
d5 too when alder lake came out!
no im talking more expensive than d5 was
