Okay, I think I found a suitable monitor for myself
Oled right?
Samsung OLED 4k UHD
Don't tell it's a fucking ips
👎
122 USD total,
Through a YouTube review, using SpyderX Pro, 100% sRGB, 79% NTSC, 83 % Adobe RGB, 88% P3
I hate discord blocking so much
:<
Don't call her that
Its alive
-IPS ofcourse, 1080p, 200Hz
bare minimum tbh
Get oled
True...........
I don't have OLED money
do you even have one
I do have an OLED though
AMOLED phone :3
My tv is oled
Am i blocked too?
Wasn't talking about TV, monitor
And phone os
4090 in da vm for today
Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode
Skull
Anyway @dim sinew
IPS, 200Hz, 100/79/83/88% sRGB, NTSC, Adobe RGB, DCI-P3, HDR10
How much hz?
twenty billion
It looks pretty, and I get to have decent colours on a budget phone :3!!!

we should be writing data to memory by hand instead of it being automated by the system
For purchase?
Already owned?
Applications?
Also techpowerup has lots of reviews available
Which of 5 OLEDs should I use to watch a movie tonight? LG C4, LG G5, S90D my MSI 27QPX, or my Laptop
Just curious since I see them a lot when looking at different ssds and want to know generally their quality
would they be good enough for gaming
editing?
and longevity yk
the worst one
I recall Samsung mentioning like 10 years ago that they had approached price parity to LCD on AMOLED displays at 5"
Small AMOLEDs are simply cost efficient to produce. Of course, LCDs have also gotten cheaper since then
I shall check
Does oled have bigger life span than ips?
and did any get swapped
My oled tv died had to repair burn in issues
on your aio display
Oh that's interesting
Didn't know they reached such similar prices that long ago
IPS might technically last longer, but if you treat them right they can last 5+ years easily
even ips can face burn in btw
yeah
the backlight leds can die over time
honestly the samsung S90D
Economies of scale
Samsung was making so many OLED phone panels they had to make it affordable to produce
or the film that reflects light can deform from heat
You saw the video where they use a projector through the IPS/display thing and it comes out super high resolution?
Hmm but only time I notice difference is when there is dark
Moments in movies
There is no difference in colour ful scene if ignore contrasts
nop
IPS are good for budget
TBH I notice instantly when using OLED, I've got the good high end shit so I know what's up
Oh sorry infinite contrast https://youtu.be/qXrn4MqY1Wo?si=6gqNFQnqN31syeX7
Merging an old TV with an old projector creates magical results! Also, start using Odoo today! https://www.odoo.com/r/y7C

It’s really cool
I mean, I kinda expected that they reached that sort of cost efficiency when my phone of all models has an AMOLED screen (A16)
I don't watch on my ips laptop I only use my tv and phone which are oled
i've got an OLED phone but I don't bother watching on that, same with my laptop
There's probably still some LCD phones but pretty rare
I use a laptop from 2013 to watch movies, you really don’t need anything special
I beg to differ but oh well
Is it vga screen god dont
Looks like the neighbor in front of our house recently got FTTH from Cox. Awesome
No haha
TA screen more worst than u think
interesting y
Black patch on side views
It looks really good, the dark areas
I forgot if it’s any similar to OLED
Probably ultrabudgets or unknown brands / both
I've got about a $6400 setup in my living room for watching movies, I know my displays
I hate grey thing in dark areas
In ips
Guys when did android have dynamic island
My phone just updated with dynamic island ripoff 😭

How many sound bars are sitting in boxes
2, but those are in my room
Cool
just the one soundbar in the living room
Is soundbar better than tv speakers?
I’ve had the same soundbar that I won at a picnic for a decade almost lol, since I was 9 years old I’ve had it
than the TV speakers? Yes
Idk why when I put my tv speakers on high volume I see distortion is it normal or my speaker is cooked

It's on wooden desk btw might be vibration
You see the sound waves distorted?
that's normal for the shitty cheap speakers they put in TVs
When there is bass I see buzzz sound
Like distorted boom
Even voices in movie have buzzz with them on high volume
Might have to get good soundbar
I need to understand one thing

Got a Dumb Question here is Thermal Paste Thermal Paste ?
Why not?
You said the same thing
I mean does brand matter ?
Yes

Best buy is normally over priced
Wdym
Are any of them locally any good I can pick up ?
Going in that
Thats a project?
toothpaste would work in that
Yeah
I had to get new cpu for it
Not a project :/
Just maintenance
A project would be getting one and setting up a server on it

Should I run Linxs on my Optiplex ?
Yes and no

Because I got these HDD from my bro and our in my main gaming rig along with my Gen 4 M.2
Or would it just be better for to get blueary / dvd drive and just burn on my Ganing PC or just get blueray drive for Optiplex ?
Thought about putting 6 tb one in Optiplex

which one should i get for my ryzen 9 9800x3d? (I know both are bad but you know how those times are)
I already told you those are fine to get
turns out, yes. new b550m arrived and still only 1 channel works
Are ampere cpus only in god damn us

:uuh:
Is a later budget release
The 5700x are 5800s that couldn’t clock high enough
and 5600 is a bit poopier 5600x
Is it safe for my pc to be running on low mains power like 100-160v when the normal is 220v (voltage drops in my area during winters)
Like do i need something specific of is my ups enough
Msi mag a750 gl btw
just hit the power button instead of backspace thats great
Most psus take anywhere from 100-240v
That and the UPS should keep things tidy enough
I'm aware of that, but the problem is ups has built in avr (which is kinda good) but it heats the psu up shortening it's life span (according to my knowledge)
I was thinking about a voltage stabilizer and a ups but i have to get them. Can i use it on mains till then?
I have to benchmark my pc, a brand new build
I wouldn’t worry about it too much, they’re pretty hearty things
And even if it gets warm it’s better than getting slammed with a voltage excursion
I do care about a 'system' like it's my wife or smth
Does your UPS use a simulated sine or pure sine wave
I do agree with you there, but I'm not gonna do her bad because something else is worse
See I've got a really expensive inverter/ups at home (that broke a couple days ago (pure sine wave) atm i don't have a ups or a voltage stabilizer
The broken one is 12v x 2 150 ah each, and also pure sine wave
It powers the whole house
For what reason could I possibly want the 210 hz one instead of the 240 hz one?
https://www.canadacomputers.com/en/25-29-gaming-monitors/271656/asus-tuf-gaming-27-qhd-fast-ips-210hz-0-3ms-gtg-gaming-monitor-vg27aq5a.html
The latter also has 400 nits compared to 300
The 240 hz is better imo, only if you are brand obsessed or smth
Yeah frr
Some user reported backlight bleed but that’s all
That's 5-7% user experience
what about 6-7%
They experience bleed and shi'
u missed the joke
i hated my acer, they use extremely cheap panels
Why
I mean how’d you notice it
Indeed
hey everyone i recently got some free SONOS play 1 speakers but i cant figure out how to use them as pc speakers since they dont have aux in/out and i cant connect them with wifi
washed out, tons of backlight bleed, overall build quality is cheap too
Is it safe for my pc to be running on low mains power like 100-160v when the normal is 220v (voltage drops in my area during winters)
Thanks, you got a pic?
no i sold that monitor like 2 years ago lmaoo
Which one?
That looks awful. Doesn't it?
Are you using ASUS now?
no i went to a gigabyte m27q x
this one, cant remember if i had the 180hz or the 240
Anyone here with ASUS experience? (Monitors)
Anyone thats good with pc? My pc cant find my graphics card, its completly seated correctly and i have done bio drivers update, windows clean reinstall, ddu. Have no clue what to do now. I can join vc and use cam/screenrecord to make it easier.
Arghh I feel like 210 hz ASUS is gonna be a bad refresh rate
u wont notice 210 to 240, hell i barely noticed 165 to 240

Unless you want a fiber optic laser pointer
Drivers from the official site of your mobo
And also install nvidia drivers
Come vc
Nah but 210 sucks cuz it doesn’t have that many divisors
I did update drivers already and nvidia wont launch since it doenst recognise my 5070 ti
Can you show your pc like live
On vc
Yes, is there even voice chats on this discord server?
Nope are you in ltt?
Ztt
Nope
Send me a friend request join vc there
Like 240 is divisible by 60, 120, 2, 4, 8, 16, etc
I did
Personally didn’t enjoy having to play rdr2 at 55 fps capped (165 hz; 165/3=55)
1080p or 1440p ?
Are 1080p 27 inch monitors that bad ?
1440
yeah i can see individual pixels when i used one
@ivory mountain Does 1080p on a 1440p monitor look bad?
Then returned that one and got this one
i mean it looks like 1080p
But not so crisp?
i mean it depends on the size of the monitor
27”
ass
im playing on 1440p 27"
1080p on 27" looks terrible
Damn
There's a certain "standard" you want for monitors
For example, on 1080p you'll want 24 inches, on 1440p it's 32 inches (but 27 inches looks a lot better)
I’ve got an RX 6800, Ryzen 7 7700X and 2x16 GB 6000 MHz CL30 DDR5 RAM so I think 1440p240 should be the sweet spot
Oh ok thanks
For 4K to look the same I think it's like 40 inches, but nobody sane buys 4K 40 inches
higher resolution and lower screen size looks the most crisp
4k OLED 1 inch
3.0 GHz on 128 cores sound quite good
Would you guys agree or is it too high? I’m tryna play Rocket League but also maybe some games at 1080p (like rdr2)
It’s only CA$219.99 anyway
The ppi you want in monitors is roughly 90 ppi btw
There are 6.5" 4K screens, which have 642.63ppi
Don't forget about PPD
ASUS rog strix x870e or MSI Carbon x870e
You can have 600 PPI but if it's one inch from the eye then it's not a fair comparison
You have to account for PPD
Even on +24 inch monitors
concorde? I posted the video to show the blue twinkle led ram. The other stick is back to rainbow barf now. No idea what made it decide to do red for a bit. I guess signal or open rgb was able to convince it even though it didn't see it. I suppose you could be hearing this in the background though since that machine is basically right next to it.
I mean, I could try that but both the occt and hci tests were pretty good at detecting errors that memtest86+ couldn't find.
Ye, wasn't in question however
Is also a looot more complicated to explain to people like Elliot
Will the GHz Matter performance wise or since the i5 has more cores ?
Why are either of them even a consideration
The 7100T is infinitely worse, but both of them suck
I have a spare evga 2080 ti lying around that i dont know what to do with
i3-7100T has 3.4GHz turbo, i5-7500T has 3.3GHz turbo. The difference is next to nothing, but i5 has real 4 cores, there is no contest, i5-7500T is the better of the two for anything
LLM. Use it with LM Studio or Ollama
It wont fit in my nas and wont fit in my current pc as a second card
getting 2v1'ed
I have no use for an LLM
a good reason to build another PC
i dont need another pc
then sell it. Or gift it to someone in family who neds a better GPU
They make a i7 7700T I think is what it is
But went the i5 7500t since it was $25 dollars lets
Mrrp
7700T was $60-$75
When 7500t wants $26
my friend was asking me for help with why a game was running so badly so I tell them to check the settings and the resolution was set to 4K (their laptop has a 3050m)
I can that laptop with 3050 won’t run 4k maybe depending on game
But very few
Nothing recent
we were trying to run Marvel Rivals so it was not liking it (Unreal Engine 5 moment)
Unreal engine 5 trying not to crash (impossible challenge)
checked the resolution + DLSS and they were getting like 80fps
I play older single players game story games
I played TombRaider and Farcry and other game like that
80 fps is good
Not if you have a high refresh rate monitor
they are, though having an extra test to check the stability of the timigns helps
Mine as 140hz 1080p monitor or 120 I can’t remember
Opinions on MSI PRO MP251L E2?
I am considering getting it with Redragon K551 and Logitech G102.
Looks like a pudding 🍮 ngl
Are these custom keycaps or you bought 'em?
I bought em off amazon
Send me the Uniform Resource Locator.
U can just say link yk... Brb
they're called pudding keycaps

What would be a good price for a 2080ti?
$200-250
Are you selling or buying one
Wdym no ace attorney, it's fair enough for a used GPU
@ivory olive what country are you in?
Too expensive.

Go amd
My friend isn't tech savvy. Prob not gonna do that.
You dont need to be tech savvy to use amd
What's ur recommendation the total PC budget is 700-800 and I already spent 330 on 14900k Z790 and 32 gb ddr5
14900k is overkill, but id say 6800 or 6750xt, or 7600xt
I know 14900k is overkill but it's cheap. Gotta take advantage of the people "upgrading" to amd
Valid
definitely not a 7600xt
go for a 9060xt
Mb
not going to happen
4060ti has the same performance but newer, though a 9060xt has even better performance
and uses less power too, no?
it has double the vram of the 7600 but not the bitbus to make actual use of it, making it an utter disappointment
Actually maybe If I sell the 14900k and get like a 12700k instead to free up $
yes
Hmmmmm
drop to a 13600k instead
same performance as a 12900k when it comes to gaming, and almost the same for production work
I know.
raptor lake vindication
though tbh, would be better off with a 7600x
7600x over 13600k?
yeah
Interesting
especially if gaming is the aim
bought a 13600kf cause ddr5 prices
Nah it's too late. I already have a Z790
Is 210 hz a terrible refresh rate considering its horrible divisors?
7600x + b650/b850 mobo + 6000 cl30 ddr5 , then get the likes of a 9060xt (16gb), that'll set you back around 650-700
the 14900k is good
keep it
I know. I have a 13900ks at 7600 cl34 tuned. Awesome cpu.
no
it’s fine
you could say the same abt 165hz
I'm getting more fps in overkill than hub benchmark in whatever setting they are using stock on bf6
Cuz I had a bad experience with 165 hz, considering I had to play rdr2 at 55 fps capped to avoid screen tearing
This is what I'm doing ATM
😂👌
that’s strange
"what is VRR"
variable reload release
How
Yep
didn’t enable vrr right?
or you don’t have the option for some reason
@steel umbra Wait no I had to play at 82.5 fps capped
Because my PC couldn’t handle higher fps
82.5 fps is a weird number
Let's goooo lol, finally got home internet 😜
I knew when commissions was on the line they was going to figure out a way to to bypass the system cuz I'm right on the edge of where they allow it 500mbps for $35/month 🤘
does anyone know if this has an nvme or a sata ssd inside it?
you could’ve done 110fps… do you not have the option for gsync, freesync or any vrr?
Should I jump on this? A Z790 eagle ax wifi and 32gb hynix M die kit for 200
110 is not a divisor of 165?
This was my old monitor that I don’t have access to anymore
it is not but it shouldn’t cause issues
Shii this decision is so hard between these two monitors.
Pros with the ASUS:
- Far better reputation (the other one allegedly had backlight bleed from one review)
- Lower price
Cons with the ASUS:
- Lower refresh rate
- Bad refresh rate considering limited amount of divisors
- 300 nits instead of 400 nits
@steel umbra
check yourself for a review for these monitors you listed
either way 40 bucks for 1TB is lowkey cheap ngl
the review should have: color accuracy, contrast ratio, pixel response, etc.
i wonder if it has dram
The more nits can stand for a better image
pixel response includes - pic of a moving object on the screen (optionally), overshoot, undershoot (ghosting), transition aka how fast the pixel shifts to it’s correct values
Doesn’t have a video review sadly
if you find a review that lists visual graph of how the pixels response by switching to certain grays, blacks, white that’s the best like rtings
avoid
short by cheapest and check each until you find one with a review and you think it’s satisfactory
Okay
I'd in general avoid Acer as they often don't disclose their specs
when is the best time to buy for black friday deals?
Avoid unless recommended by a media or know what you are getting
What specs do they specifically not show?
Lemokey X3 with pudding go brrr
Is Samsung reputable when it comes to gaming monitors?
I am left with the impression that they are trying to hide some specs
as in what specficially
This is usually if you start nicpicking
because I use a site to compare monitors
mediocre yes
this is what I use
@tacit star
i had the pain of trying the old odyssey g5
Wdym
the VA model was horrendous
I am not saying that Acer is bad
oops you scrolled through a bit of text
samsung monitor: here ya you like yellow and trails rite
here
If the panel (and factory calibration) is better then i'd 100% go for it over the Asus
they both have the same color depth natively, but ASUS has 10 bit via FRC
Samsung is a bit brighter, but ASUS has a wider color gamut
There’s also a third one
Great price but I’m skeptical about it
400 nits btw
Well if everything is the same then look for things like factory calibration, cables included, etc.
They don’t include a displayport 1.4 cable
Bootleg crap HDMI then?
Prolly
Ngl, this was the shit to have back in the ddr3 days
A great thing about DP is that you can use AdaptiveSync (or FreeSync or G SYNC) on practically any monitors that has one of those 3 but not the other
and also better color depth (less banding)
Well usually if everything is the same then you start nitpicking about the small details you prefer in order to pick the right monitor
If you were me, which monitor would you pick out of the three I sent?
Imo the asus is a bit better
screen real estate is a fraction smaller but thats like barely much
“Screen real estate” 😭
Basically how much bezels are there
the fun parts
Rauko are you good at picking monitors
Cl 10🔥
Yeah... Especially when you're figuring out how to have 66 and 33 work
And there are more important things like firmware and button control
@white pawnany monitor you look at, check to see if there's a review of it on rtings.com
Oh yes, fuck you button controls, joystick has to take over
I am talking to you, Acer
Not of the one I’m considering
funily enough, no if i was to pick a monitor, i'd end up choosing a tv instead
Don't Monitors Unboxed have a video about a particular model, or "The best monitor" for what you are looking for?
Unfortunately they can't test every monitor
is ts game a gacha what is it
The only video I found was an AI reading an AI script 💀
The acer i have has both.
I know, I ask if there is a video about the monitors he is looking at or at least mentioning them in a ranking
that's hub's other channel, and yes it has reviews of several monitors, but there's also the likes of rtingswhich shows what it'll be better for
The buttons for menu shortcuts and joysticks for navigation
then you be on the wrong channel
I know who HUB and MUB are lol
And also power button..
why would anyone buy this
I just searched on YouTube. VG272U
The swag.
And also
Fuck you external power supply
RGB
mine is internal at least yay
Mine too
tbf, its a "business monitor"
Fuck you external power supply, fuck you LED bleed, fuck you raised blacks, so here I am using AW2725DF
Flat ultrawide
Holy fuck ram prices are CRAZY high, im having more trouble convincing that custom building is better to my friend now
Fuck you curved screen, and whatever else you think of
I think i have an overkill nas
A dell/alienware aio is an interesting choice
Its a part from my old nas
The mobo died
Does it work well at least?
Gaming nas
Yes
what the fuck are these prices..
(these are in $SGD btw)
Hai wormm
Usually theyre not made by them anyways, i think asetek or someone
4 memory sticks? That's more than your wedding ring
same model under another name from acer
The aio is from 2012 btw
I could get a mobo and cpu combo for that price....
Hi, does the MSI MAG 274QF X24 worth it?
I'm from Israel and my budget is about 1.3k nis ₪
Prob asetek then
170 hz?
?
remember there's no such thing as overkill, only "open fire" and "cover me, i need to reload"
I hate when they have a fixed stand also
Oh yes, fuck you fixed stand
Took WAYY longer to set up then it should, but yay!
@tacit star you do realize its ddr3, right?
what website is this? i wanna test mine!
waiting for the "you used over 1.2TB "warning" emails
And I frankensteined a shtbox
Hey folks, for those interested in the Steam Machine, I made a comprehensive breakdown of its specs + a bunch of info you may find relevant :

Hi everyone, does the MSI MAG 274QF X24 worth it?
I'm from Israel and my budget is about 1.3k nis ₪
I don't actually, didn't pay attention to the mb
Fast.com ran by Netflix
Is that a 64gb kit?
Imagine having data caps in 2025
32GB crucial pro
My ISP abandoned the data caps here
2x16
Its ddr4..
god damn brother, I can't tell if the case is tiny or that ARC is gigantic
@night delta i have the 2x32gb crucial ddr4 pro 3200 kit :3
Actually most do in USA now unless you get their highest price tier.
But it's not actually a data limit it's a "we will deprioritize you on our towers" limit
The shtbox is tiny
Its 15L in size
Do y’all think backlight bleed would be covered by my warranty 😭
The arc card is only 260mm long
Damn
My pings aren't amazing, but it's 5g so 🤷
B580? Or a770?
500mbps for $35/ month isn't bad for USA
B580
Why is your gpu lowk arching
W
Unlimited 5G data here
The heatsink is
Yeah
Meanwhile i should be moving these into a case
No idea, runs cool though
Yeah same, but after 1.2 TB they slow you down
nah no case is fine
It’s cuz it’s Intel arc, get it?
@night delta
okay, that's reassuring hahaha
I was wondering how long are they making those for a moment
Si
It looks so empty in there
Is that mini ITX in an eATX case 😭
T-Mobile has done good here for their 5G
Full atx in a corsair 800d
Honestly waiting for 6G
Btw if yall are wondering if im cooking the cpu or not:
@white pawn if you think that looks small, wait till you see my main
Thermaltake psu...
Is it an overall bad idea to buy a 1440p240 monitor with these specs?
RX 6800, Ryzen 7 7700X and 2x16 GB 6000 MHz CL30 DDR5 RAM
@white pawn
Damn
Full atx in a super tower
I slightly tuned the latency down tho
Me when ewaste spec frp locked phone
CL20 vs 22
cardboard ?
And I thought used 2x16 3600/16 RGB for €130 is expensive
Forces air to go up instead of through the bottom vents
for people thinking the current prices are bad i must remind them, that in september 2018 i bought a 4x16GB DDR4-3200CL14 GSkill Trident Z RGB quad kit for.... 975 euros
Bought RIGHT before the ramageddon
yes i make that system out of spare parts
3200 and no RGB, not interested
Doesn't matter how good the deal is
i paid like $270 ish for my trident rams, now they're $600....
@night delta
Chat
But i dont like rgb.. :((
Its not rgb
So i meant the other guy mb
Also wtf, 22 timing at 3200, say no more
I got this kit brand new for $80 cad off fbmp, i saved quite a bit
I tuned it down to 20 at 3200
Not even close to 16 (or 14)
I think I could do it down to those levels on this ram, but 100% not on this board
I don't want to bother with overclocking, I hate this
Also the lack of RGB is a dealbreaker for me
Specially not when I have to do this lmao
tis perfect
i rather have no rgb or just static color
back in 2023 when i build my new PC i went for AM4 because RAM was so much cheaper + lots of used parts on ebay
how times have changed with DDR4 pricing...
is 574 good price for 9950x3d?
I love RGB
Fast ram but not my style
Why?
I never liked the looks of gskill ram for some reason
https://www.gskill.com/product/165/166/1536561087/F4-3200C14Q-64GTZR-EOL my expensive ones
They look good objectively, but not for my style
anyone know why my spekers are so low volume up al the way
RGB and the timings for 3600 were more important to me, so that's what I got
Good for u then
ohms
Too high impedance or the speakers are shot
yours and mine is probably the same thing, just "rated" differently, plus mine is twice the modules
Or theyre just really tiny
prob i am out $2 i brought them at estate sale lol
i didnt know
4x8 instead of 2x16?
Also make sure both computer and speaker volume is up
logitech
And application volume
Logitech what? Check the model at the back
no. yours is b-die 2x16GB DDR4-3600CL16. Mine is b-die 4x16GB DDR4-3200CL14. And both are Trident Z RGB. So the only diff between your modules and my modules is what is flashed into the SPD, plus that i got twice the module count 😄
I don't need 64, and 64 is too expensive for something I won't utilise 😶
bruh my headphones stopped working
well, as i said, i bought these in 2018. At peak of DDR4 pricing. 975 euros. Current prices are nowhere as bad as back then
I think 3600/16 is in most cases better than 3200/14 unless you are doing some niche tasks like video rendering? Where the timing matters heaps
Those were the dark times
rip these chinese headphones
what i say that they are literally the same chips, only SPD is different because yours were made later. Hell, i overclocked them to 3600CL14 just by changing the RAM clock in BIOS.
Logi z313
Its missing its subwoofer systemf thats also its amplifer
Thats why its so quiet
Goofy speakers
if ur alls headphones stopped working what would you all do
I already unplugged, plugged back in, checked audio drivers,~~ cried in a corner ~~
Hope you didn't pay more then $10 for them
No wonder its quiet
He's missing the sub/amp
so not broken but def missing a part
Use my speaker system
bruh
Seeing the tops, reminds me i need to dust them off
my pc setup is under a loft bed so it gets very dusty often
but i mean i know there is audio coming from my pc so its a headphone thing
Are these good specs for the Acer one? Specifically looking for great colors
https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/comparison/ba8332bf24
bruh my internetj ust died
$2 lol
Great. I hate manual overclocking so XMP profile suits me excellent
Hi everyone, does the MSI MAG 274QF X24 worth it?
I'm from Israel and my budget is about 1.3k nis ₪ / 400 USD
Is there anything else I should check out? (nothing from the list is available or in my budget)
Playing competitive
Is this what debloat windows looks like?
Translate to USD
400 usd
hey guys, 7800x3d or 9700x? ;D
7800x3d
I was in the exact same place a month and a half ago, 7800x3d all the way
next question
7800x3D with 9060XT
or
7700 with RTX 5070
5070 is way faster
ok i figured out my headphones are working now
the audio output changed somehow 😭 🥀
i forgot i did a windows update last night so ig that fricked it up?
You plan to play 1080p or 1440p?
It all comes down to that
If you go with the 5070 save some money and go with a 9600x instead of the 7700x
5070 is the much better pick
the difference between choosing a 5060 8GB or 5070 12GB is literally like $115, im gonna tell my friend to go with the 5070
love soldering

guys how do i download internet hack
ew val
Any ideas what I can do with these stiff hoses? Had to move the cooler from the top because of a clearance issue :9
lmao
invest in some white clips and you could curl it a bit mor so it'll look a little cleaner with the gpu installed

u guys think the Crucial T710 4TB SSD for 300usd is a good deal?
no
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Fd3NnQ/ there is this also
Yeah I friggin' love it omg
wait til you see 4k on a 40"+ screen
And it's 210 hz as well, feels like I'm literally in heaven
Glossy OLED 4k 40"
I'm in love with the colors of this monitor too, genuinely good IPS on this one
The blacks are pretty black to me
Haven't turned off my lights yet tho
I need to get myself an oled panel. Go with they way of Plouffe with the Alienware UW
I'm jumping into rdr2 my pc aint gonna be able to handle this haha
4k 144hz tv's exist to make you go nah to a monitor
Big TV gaming is neat and all but I prefer monitor on a desktop. Could just be because I play fps games
Yeah I'm getting a new controller so I can play rl again
Steam controller >:D
miniled
wait until you see 8k
Wait til you see 16k
8K is too early. Not nearly enough 8k content
It's all about the PPI, not the resolution.
yeah 1440p is just so much better
Yeah this monitor was US$160 AFTER tax
not bad for 1440
Now go buy a nice keyboard
as long as the panel color quality is good
I have a $7 keyboard lol
oof yeah time to get yourself something nice lol
Ima wish for it for christmas instead
previous versions of the same tv
A hall-effect keyboard
the even better models that'll cost you a kidney for it
Oh neat. I've seen Glorious' new hall effect switches but haven't gotten a chance to try em yet
more reasons to get a keyboard
Good peripherals are just as, if not, more important than the PC you're using them on
exactly
Depends
1080p looks like 720p on this monitor 💀
pretty sure u can flip ur block and the actual plate of the lf3
Oh absolutely but if you're running a 1440p system then most definitely
Not all peripherals are equal
And I'm not saying more expensive peripherals are better than cheaper ones
I'm clocking this system:
RX 6800, Ryzen 7 7700X and 2x16 GB 6000 MHz CL30 DDR5 RAM
like a average mouse and keyboard is enough for mst
Might be a huge CPU bottleneck but anyway
what is average anyways
nah it's fine
i'm personally running a 6800 too
Think biggest difference for peripherals is monitor
but with a 12900k
6800 is pretty damn good
like 50 bucks each
But I can't play RDR2 at 1440p and achieve 200 fps tho
Whats the refresh rate of your monitor?
Its cheap as well
200 hz, 210 if you overclock it
I see
Im getting a worse tier gpu next upgrade
I don't see why anyone in their right mind would get a 540 hz monitor
prob going for 70 series nivida gpu after im done with my 7900xtx
Ima try out geometry dash rn lol at least I've got the G502 Hero
this thing using to much power
540hz I can see if you're playing at an esports level but otherwise not necessary in the slightest
Haven't played gd in like 2 years
Something where you need that high pixel refresh in something like CS2
g502 is too expensive these days
Exactly
the new g502 is like 200 cad
I got the hero wired
Is that the one that goes with the wireless charger though?
why is a mouse that has been refreshed for like 10 years so exoensive
Even so too expensive but just curious
Because if I'm not mistaken there's different versions of the g502 now
lightspeed, hero, etc.
lightspeed is just the hero but in wireless form
ah right. Been a minute since I've looked at Logitech's offerings
Geometry dash lookin like heaven somehow
and a g502x is no different from the lightspeed but having it look more closer to a g-pro
I've personally got an xtrfy m4 wireless that has treated me well for quite some time.
i have a g502 hero with extra weights put into it
I will say I do miss the infinite scrolling of the g502
No ghosting, amazing colors, 1440p200, this is amazing
Are there any settings I should tweak after getting it?
Other than freesync
I'd say just kinda work with the settings to adjust to your liking. Find the brightness, sharpness, contrast, gamma, and color temp your eyes feel most fond with
Also make sure that you have appropriate response times and Hz set on the monitor
Sometimes that can be easily overlooked
I JUST FOUND A SETTING THAT MADE IT EVEN BRIGHTER SOMEHOW
only do this while calibrating it with adobe's colour profile
this links to the profile btw
chat
cheapest 3080 heatsink that I can buy?
there is none, it has to match the 3080 you're using
I see, thought they were all compatible but guess not
I have the EVGA FTW3 3080
is there any way to run a gpu without a heatsink or waterblock?
not for gaming but for like
testing
nope
You should be able to find a used one on like ebay or something but make sure you get all the thermal pads and whatnot. Not something you want to mess with really unless you know exactly what you're doing.

There is currently a bundle AMD bundle going on micro center, pairing the 7800x3d with the ASUS B650E-E TUF Gaming WiFi AM5 I plan on pairing it with the 9060xt but wanted to know is that motherboard gonna hurt me in the long run
I have a herman miller at work and i was wondering if its worth buying a herman miller for the home office
if you can assemble a chair no
unless it really fits your posture
I got an Attack Shark X11 because of that one video about off-brand mice earlier this year. Damn, this thing feels as premium as my old Superlight did, before it's scroll wheel died cause Logitech kinda sucks.
It may be mean to you and hurt your feelings
But the board will perform fine
@plain cypress overclock
Excuse me what
I'm not overclocking rn
Do I need to undervolt the 5070ti
no but you can ig
at 900mv w/2.6ghz core i only drew like 215w in gaming
you can get it down to like 180 or something im sure and probably not lose much perf
the 75 usd 2tb sn850x hasnt shipped, only a label created for 8 days, am I cooked 😭
faecbook marketplace
after giving the policy a quick read it seems itd be protected
Hurt my feelings I’m confused I just want the hard truth 😭
You should always undervolt
$400 NAS
Please help (can be used IDC) minimum 8tb
Or 4tb it doesn’t matter toooooo much
random office pc and three 4tb hdds for 8tb
so i just got a new pc. Looking inside it seems to complicated for me to install my hdds. Anyone know of a good hard drive docking station? I have 4 drives. I can find decent 2 bay ones but not 4
i'm gonna overvolt just to spite you
HDDs are one of the simpler things to install... unless your case / motherboard doesn't have enough connections for your drives, of course. If you share details about your computer, we might be able to help.
If this computer is a pre-built, share the exact MAKE and MODEL number. If this is a custom-built computer, share the Case and Motherboard manufacturer and models.
The "best" <thing> is the <thing> that lets you get the shit done that you need to do. For some, this is MacOS. For others, this is Windows, For even others, this is Linux. And for those over there, this might be OpenVMS.
Should i get the legion 5i 5050 or the acer nitro v16s with a 5060
benchmarks say that the legion exceeds the nitro in every way except fo battery life though
That's a very 90s mindset to have
There was a reason why they were on death's doorstep in circa 1996-1997
Questionable pricing combined with abysmal marketing during the Spindler regime and breifly Amelio
Not saying it is like that now for Apple
But that mindset was one of the catalysts to their near-death experience during that period
I need some laptop advice guys
I found an HP ryzen 9, rtx 4070, 16 gb upgradeable for $1700, 1 tb ssd
Personally, I'd get the Lenovo because they make the service manuals available for most of their products.
I also found an alienware ultra 9, rtx 5070, 32 gigs and 2 tb ssd for the same price
which one should I go for?
had some fun with my RAM, tCL from 16 to 14, and tRCD from 18 to 16, the voltage was 1.36V stock and it seems to do fine, the system does respond quite a little better too
if the CPU supported over 2400MHz im sure it'd be even better but 7th gen intel is 2400MHz cap
also with HP theres a chance that u will have a hinge sticking out the back within 2 years, guarentee
Just a quick thing, where do I put the front panel connector? I assume on the left of the picture from the mobo?
Only with certain models, and only if you don't treat your laptop like the precision electronic device it is.
@formal sonnet (sorry for the ping 😅)
fair, my HP x360 was a 360 convertable, probably one of the reasons it had this issue, though it took 4 or 5 years (7 years since the original owners purchase) and not 2
With the information provided, the Alienware is only just over 1 year old at most, so that's what I'd go with.
still wishing I had my HP x360, was an i3 8130U and served the convinience of solid power for my use case, and portability (though the battery was a little worn out)
of course in 2023 i didnt know how easy the fix wouldve been and i just scrapped it
it was literally just missing screws.
it's brand new
I mean the realease date of the parts.
oh
but alienware's cooling systems aren't really good apparently
my i5 7400 PC (or more rather my fathers 😊 ) is like 7 or 8 years old and is still going strong
recently upgraded it from single channel 8GB to dual channel 16GB
i did for mine too but when i was reseating the rams due to some display issue, i somehow broke a slot
the 2nd ram still isn't being picked up lol
4GB RX 580, not 8GB but it plays say, BeamNG.Drive solid (older versions)
i prefer version 0.14, it works on everything with solid hardware that ive owned, and it has enough cars and maps to have fun
😭
what CPU there
ryzen 5 5500U
not bad, solid CPU
somehow cpuz readin my extra ram but not the system itself
sick
thanks 4 lmk
yo can someone help me and my homie with this shit
we have a post in tech support titled "Utility using high CPU% all the time" and we lowkey need some help
you can type this into chatgpt "how to fix "Utility using high CPU% all the time"
it will give you stuff to try normally what i do day to day lol
yea but it's just gonna recite the same exact thing from the reddit threads and windows threads we've already read to try and fix this issue
half the people have said to uninstall microsoft edge and it did nothing for us
and plus he already did and it literally did exactly as i said it would
what is using the most right now?
it pulled from reddit and windows for the response we already read
MORE DINGO COOKIN
chris titus debloat script, use it, disable telementary, save and exit
bro I hate microsoft so much
telemetry is already disabled through ultimate windows tweaker when he first set his pc up
editing the INF file for your GPU driver does not update the data even after reinstalling the drivers
unless it's another sort of thing
its so fucking stupid
i mean we can still try it and see if it works
im trying to update the driver date and version because the hyper-v gpu paravirtualization driver that gets generated by microsoft is so old that some games just think youre running such outdated hardware that you cant use anything other than the low settings
i have 2 8gb rams
it initially worked but i once reseated the rams a couple days ago and the 2nd slot stopped working altogether
win11?
i can't change the memory settings on the BIOS. it's locked for HP laptops ;-;
good luck blud
thx
if i had enough storage and ram, my cpu could handle dual booting 😭
last time i bricked my system bc my baby sister unplugged my usb flash drive
ryzen 5 stuck with 256 gb ssd and 8 gb ram. absolute trash combo
😂
i have a ryzen 7 3800x and 32gb of ddr4 and rtx 2070 super
then slow pc idk
oh and integrated graphics - 512 mb
reinstall windows obtain cpu
and a 1tb nvme ssd and 320gb hard drive
dand brotha
yea i built it
i have like a 600 gb hard drive but i got like 250 left
my laptop's main drive is an ssd. so it's interchangeable as well
dang
but me broke 😭
dang nice
i would've dual booted kali linux lol
im itching to make a windows 11 vm with an iso in win 11
Lmao
It's not about being broke? I could purchase multiple entire ecosystem's of Apple products right now. That doesn't mean they're the "best" option for my needs. But they might be for someone else's needs.
