rate the UI gang
b650 is cheaper but im worried that it doesnt have pcie5 for my gpu
I’d go for the b850
24 for the screwdriver alone
yeah
The difference is completely negligible
U look into the fanttik
i want the best performance from my gpu
@true stirrup should i buy the x870 or the b850
Could u like send the one your talking abt lol
And yeah if u looked into the link it’s chargeable
i was talking about the ifixit precision electric screwdriver
ahh
check reviews
I have lol
if they'r good then thats fine
this is something I thought u be doing as comparing to which is better in your opinion
else look for trusted brand
i have no experience in using electric screwdrivers
the one i have used was makita
for bigger bits
Oh well not as in experience but just looking it up or like looking at the reviews for both lol
hmm
If that B850 has a gen 5 slot for for that then
it doesnt but is the x870 worth 20 bucks extra? i mean it isnt anything too insane
and for god knows why reason x670 is more expensive than x870
ts not mature content bro 😭😭
or this
Even a 5090 loses less than 1% performance going from PCIe gen 5 to gen 4
So if that B850 doesn't have a gen 5 slot you might as well go with B650 which is cheaper
@mental linden yeah i think buy that one and if you dont like it, return it
isnt gen 5 mandatory on all b850s
cant find varieties of them
😭😭😭
also tell me how it is so i could know as well
damn alright ill look better the next time so just to be clear a b850 or b650 with gen 5 or a x870
goof
Do as you wish
alr thanks
is 181W the highest a 12900KF can use without OC or smth?
you never knew what they were going to do with them
that i can agree with
at intel default settings yea
there should be 2 profiles in the bios
“performance” and “extreme”
nope, that can use around 250w before you think about power unlocking and OC
after that a 12900k can max out at 450w when fully power unlocked
depends intel has presets in the bios
performance is likely 181 PL2
and extreme is 250
you can just use xtu when it comes to intel tbh
the only cpu i've seen to essentially come close into matching a 12900k in power draw is a power unlocked 11700k
oc is a rabbit hole though
for sure
with amd the bios is your only choice, you can't use nor trust ryzen master
i’ve already rma’d a few 13900k’s so far
amd oc is easier imo
static voltage on my 3600 made it do 4.575ghz
didnt even need to touch anything else
with pbo yeah, way easier, but also though there's no safe static voltage tbh
quick and easy oc
didnt wanna set adaptive
got the B450 + 3600 for $60 anyway
do not show 3rd party key seller sites, also dumb way to give out your card details when microsoft offers you ways for it to be free
where's the free thing again?
microsoft documents
I didn't give my credit card info cuz I paid with my PayPal balance
But yeah since today I've cracked every Windows I owned but I wanted to test
you've not cracked any version of windows, you can literally run it for free
Yeah but the fucking watermark bro
Lmao
that's just the activation which is also free via microsoft
at this point, you're dumb if you use any third party site when it comes to windows/offices to pay for a key
doesn't look like it, also super dumb for showing this
Showing what
did ya check your dm?
the activator scripts that's using kms
What's Dumb about it...
it's against ToS idiot
AFAIK we can't say it here it's against the rules
I'm not an idiot I just forgot you monkey
nope, you're clearly an idiot
ur racist too wow so crazy
Oh sorry I didn't know you were the all mighty god
What's racist about it...
Look at yourself in the mirror before speaking ok.
i do, i also explained enough to you and explained the how to to someone else
Wtf is that doing here
Some MASSIVE scripts that would be of GRAVE danger to you if you used them
so DO NOT search for them
Huh
what’s better new rx 9060 xt 16gb or used rx 6800 xt
The new one
Better drivers, features and I think performance too
https://www.applegadgetsbd.com/product/lenovo-loq-15arp9-amd-ryzen-7-7435hs-gaming-laptop
How's this
A tiny bit bellow $1k USD
xx50 gpu 💔
4060 or above is over $1300 USD
In my area
I personally don't want 4050s and have the right to criticise them as I use a decent desktop GPU myself 💀
Never Again fcking RGB
What the hell can possibly can make specific sectors of RGB to give different collor?
My hype for RGB in pc cases is slowly fading
Just don't
I'm going for a more subtle look now
Dont use RGB, too many cables to much hastle, then the case will get dirty and u will see the dust
Not really
Its a fucking head ache
I clean mine regularly and cables isn't really a problem
as much i love my PC
It's clean and nice looking I like it
I will NEVER again use any RGB
Is that a fishtank or
Fully blacked out looks so good
My system is a Ryzen 7 5700x and rx 7800xt but when I upgrade my GPU I might also do case swap since my current case is small. If I do a case swap I will also do a sleeper build
Mid tower case?
Or something smaller
skip it tbh
I'm not sure I want it to be atx but also fit a bigger gpu kinda without the case being too big
Can you find me something better than 💀
Rauko my good man , u still hanging around here? 👀
Ah
I got a mid tower case but
This guy barely fits in there
What gpu is this?
Nitro+ 9070 XT
That's huge
Or at least it looks huge compared to the fans
God, I'm gonna rip out those fcking fans in a moment
💀💀
Those green sectors are giving me a headache
Better than what I had before
What the
That's a 240mm rad on top
3 years have almost passed already and fcking iCUE software is still shit
GPU is huge
480
rgb is a headache in general
The old one is still better than the new
My setup
Anyway , Yes, Fuck RGB and Fuck iCUE
now must figure out how to sort out those bloody sectors
any ideas?
Rgb?
Can't see it
well it's in battlestations , just search Fire Hazard in a Box.
Mars gaiming
Got one
Used it once
I have a small ITX system that stopped working. I suspect the (proprietary to the case) PSU has failed. The front panel led is still glowing but when I press the power button absolutely nothing happens after a one quarter spin of the cpu fan. Is there any easy way to confirm it's the PSU that is broken?
Sniff the psu
no bbq
i have seen many psu's blow up
Voltmeter is your friend
just a bit of smoke
i wouldn't know which of the many many pins to measure
Prob got silence boom
the psu also doesn't seem to have an on/off switch
the ones that go to motherboard ofc
from the cpu 4pin or the mobo longer one?
it came in the Inwin Chopin (stock picture)
What gpu is that
power man
A psu smol
Flex
tf does microsoft think people use this for
Isn't that a price of a 5080?
bro wtf
"yo hop on we gotta chat with ai bot"
very interesting talk
👌
What is up with glass mousepads and them having the cringiest or ugliest designs on them
Like 90% of glass mousepad designs are these
people that care enough about their mousepad’s “performance” to sacrifice comfort are mostly degenerates
I just want to replace my deskmat with something small
Glass mousepads looked interesting
they’re just plain uncomfortable imo
Anyone familiar with RGB software?
Glass
Need help
people really underestimate how much the little cushion of a mousepad helps with comfort
glass mousepad emergency shiv material
anyone know how to fix my webcam
My fcking RGB Fans started acting up , everything was fine until today , basically , the whole fan is shining in blue, EXCEPT 1/8th of it shines in green , on top of that iCUE wont detect the 7th fan that's not connected to commander pro
I tried changing the bloody iCUE RGB settings , but then again , there's this one sector that shines in a different color , any ideas how to fix that?
Pic for reference
and btw , this fan is not connected to the same port as the 3 on top/front nor can be detected by iCUE and yet all the fans have the same issue
what the best thermal paste
i was thinking Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Extreme
That's not a thermal paste
That's Liquid Metal
yea my bad
Meaning you need something like the thermal grizzly sealing frame, it also requires reapplication after a while
really
hello
hi
synology sucks
what is the best out of the box experience in terms of a nas for OneDrive / Sharepoint like performance?
Yes, otherwise the liquid metal will leak out and kill components
Synology drive is a HOT MESS
intresting
did they not back track on that
Imo, you're far better off building your own NAS
100%
it is incredibly simple to setup, and you will get far better value
Greater customizability as well
no what i mean is, with Synology Drive Client.. if I apply permissions to a folder to someone, and then take those permissions away, a local copy of the file stays on the clients computer
or the fact that it took 3 hours for one user to see a file another newly created. one excel file.
lol
custom it probs best
i have a printer scanning via smb to the synology, in synology drive it takes sometimes 3-5 hours for a PDF to show up
ONE PDF!!!
If you're adamant not to build your own NAS, i would look at reviews of specific NAS products, not just brands as a whole
synology support: yea just use smb
to be fair, SMB kinda sucks
thats y we have FOSS, Free and Open-Source Software
but what FOSS replaces onedrive ? nextcloud?
is nextcloud FAST? and is opening it to the enter safe ?
I have my own truenas at home, this is for a customer. looking for more of a drop in solution
dont hahe to user nextcloud
what are your suggestions ?
ubiquiti has a nas
i was looking at videos on those recently, i wish i saw them before i bought this thing
just don't buy drives from ubiquiti, they're so expensive
the synology it works nice and is easy to setup, but the little things kill it
and they are just wd drives
https://store.ui.com/us/en/products/unas-2 look clean
it would have tied in so nice too
the network is a UCG Ultra and a 48 port poe
ubi switch
im not mad you're mad
lol
but aren't these like pretty new
yea
i did purchasing in May or so
you could do cutom and use HexOS
@grizzled frost what the best noctua thermal past
and do they have a dark mode on there site
Fuck iCUE 🙂

should i change anything
what's it for
gaming and work and a budget of 5k AUD
is there a feature on the x870e that you need that isn't present on cheaper boards
Only feature X870 has over something like a B650 is PCIE 5 lanes iirc
USB 4 and usually >2.5g networking is the big ones for x870e
i think the gen 5 m.2 and probly the usb heads cause i was thing of adding Lian Li UNI FAN SL Wireless LCD 51.45 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack
**>**2.5g
thunderbolt 3 is also inferior to USB4
anyone here a controller expert
But you can just get a 10g lan card for fairly cheap
the usb headers i think and the gen 5 m.2
rma mobo returns today, praying the operation was a success
Nvm they're like 100 bucks jesus
Only thing i can really complain about is the value of the PSU, AIO, and M.2
You could go as low as a 750w, though i'd go for something like an 850w
the max internt that the isp will give us it 1gb or 500mb
gen5x2 is the same interface speed as gen4x4
mangled some pins (again) 3 times in total but one was on a board that holds an i3 2120 from like literal 2009 or somethin
on M2_1 its a Gen5x4
LGA is curse'd
The drive itself is gen5x2
thats all i have to say and need to say on that matter
bru
Which is just a gen4 ssd
But rebranded as gen5
my main issue with gen5x2 is that if it ends up in a gen4 slot you get half the interface speed since it'll be stuck at gen4x2
is there a good 4tb m.2 that is Gen5x4
gen 4 is good enough for the masses
never mind then
you dont NEED gen 5
ok
also australia has 230v don't they?
what i've read is dram is a fairly important part of buying m.2's as well as total storage and if its a name brand or not
yea
that's how i would sort it if i had to
so PSU efficiency is gonna be good no matter what, so why waste money on a platinum PSU
Gen5 only useful if you're transferring 100gb+ files constantly
ok
with windose iso i might need to
who the hell pays for a windows install
gen 5 is for like, professional youtubers and video editors type people
oh windows ISO, yeah it's <8gb
Honestly, gen5x2 makes more sense, since that's literally just gen4x4 compressed into only two lanes bandwidth wise.
no one in this chat
Which is a bad thing, it means it's at best equal, but if it ends up in a non gen5 slot you now have a gen4x2 drive
Who use ntlite to make the windose install bearable
Strangely, a number of people do... Who have been in this chat and server before too.
its usefull
True.
Isn't windows install already very simple
i believe they mean like debloating the install
Just get windows 11 pro workstation
budget people doesn't care about B550 being old
Comes pre-debloated
yea and makeing it faster and skipping the online user
when it comes to m.2 and ssd i pretty much only trust samsung and WD drives and seagate barracudas/exos for HDD spinning platter
Make those budget saving changes, and see if you can swing a better NVIDIA GPU
You can just use rufus for that
i aint touchin that fikwot shit i seen on amazon
me when iot ltsc
samsung has some of the highest failure rates nowadays
yea but ntlite you can remove app and do other things and presetup a local user
ah, thats interesting, well, thats who i would trust first
Well, at least Samsung was smart about it when they did this for one of their latest drives, having that fall back to x4 for gens 3 and 4 depending on what the board supports or has enabled.
That's not how PCIE links work though
At that point you'd already have to have the PCIE gen5x4 link, so you'd just use that
there's no way to have both gen5x2 and gen4x4 without just having gen5x4
You can already uninstall pretty much every single app without the use of 3rd party apps
fair
thoughts on using Lian Li PW24-1W Strimer Wireless 24-PIN and Lian Li PW16081W Strimer Wireless 12+4
Everytime I install windows I just uninstall 99% of Microsofts apps through control panel
how often do you install windows
why not iot ltsc instead of pro workstation
i use BCUninstaller
i work at a computer business
Fairly often since I buy lots of tech
overpriced garbage that most people won't benefit from
i buy lots of tech, but the vast majority of my computers run on linux
Poop
only thing that runs windows is my desktop
prove it
I'd assume that basically all they did with their storage controller was have it firmware limited to only use x2 for gen 5, then use all 4 for Gen 4/3, since yeah. You already have the physical connections, so there's no way to physically not use all of them unless two are then disabled in a specific mode.
Only device that I own that runs on linux is my Steam Deck and my android phones
so it's just samsung being greedy by pointlessly disabling functionality that already exists on the drive
And my future game server soon
nzxt
It should arrive today
i kept using iot ltsc, no thanks
use pelican Panle
why u left ztt
drama about me
your profile is wild
what was it
when i was posting nonsense shit
It's normal
i lwk do that all the time
and i was annoying and weird
what r some good nzxt products
I'd imagine another potential nerf is that the controller also is more limited hardware wise with weaker or just less microcontroller cores as well, which would limit full performance if they were using all four lanes anyway. The point of that drive lineup I'm basically mentioning was to be a cheaper and "more efficient" gen 5 consumer drive.
they didnt ban you no?
high ranked ppl are tired of me
no
So I imagine they did more than only just turn off lanes in firmware if we talk cost cutting.
it cant be that bad
Ayyy I’m Russian too
high chance of toxicity, drama, cyberbullying
Glad to see another Russian in this server
notice how u are immediately greeted
I regret mentioning same things, posting nonsense shit.
i post the same gif 10 times a day
Bro is having feelings of regret over a shitty discord server
no ragrets
Bro might be too chronically online
Here
we are different
You are not green
regular*
greens are regulars
emerald
And bread role is sigmas
Awesome freaking performance
crazy. much higher than upload speeds
Green better ngl
I remember bread roles having access to image perms in public chat I wonder if green roles have access to that aswell
@distant frigate are you using vpn to use discord and youtube on your iphone?
It’s 5G lol
I don’t expect symmetrical speeds on 5G unlike fiber
i forgot to read about its t-mobile
i forgot you're traveling and living in another country
Hello, anyone know if 5600x will work fine with a 3070 but a 650w seasonic s12III?
it will work
yes
I have a 3600 in the pc rn and havent had issues
Here’s my home internet
i heard the formular air mesh g4 is equivalent to aerocool cs-107
close ish to what
Much better upload speeds but it’s expected since it’s full fiber
I have a 3600 in there rn and it works just fine
both r top mounted psu cases with front panel fans
550
very much isn't close, 3070 only consumes 220w, 5600 being 88w
yes i don't disagree but it's nice to have like 30% on the top for transient spikes
so like 350w worst case scenario including other components
So ill be just fine?
mhm
Ye speed
some flavors of the 3070 can do 260w, and also drives, fans, mobo itself etc
650 is good tho it will work fine, i just prefer 700-750
I have a 1000w psu sitting in my house but its an unknown brand so id rather not use it over the seasonic
yep use the seasonic
fans are very low wattage, like less than 10w for your whole case worth of fans, drives are usually single digit watts too, mobo power draw isn't particularly heigh either
it adds up
Also while i am here my 3070 runs at 80c+ when at 100% should i be worried?
but i am not saying 650 watts isn't good it's fine
doesn't add up to an additional 300-250w of power draw
my bare minimum is not worry about it ever, never revisit a customer
you don't get an extra 300w of power draw from misc case accessories
Anybody lol?
That's not what the system specs are
it's performance doesn't increase or decrease fps
I want 5090 .
Mum says we have a 5090 at home
It sounds like he already has the 650w PSU
R9 290X2/390X2
why would you buy another PSU now, just to potentially need another new one in future
better than the 12v-2x6 connector
I mean ill upgrade the gpu eventually so the psu is gonna be upgraded too
iroh, my brother, 650w is fine.. relax your butthole. i just like more powa
it was powercolor designing it
Ye 4 8 pin like 5090
holy shit 4 of 8-pins, even better than 12vhpwr
Soo is my gpu too hot?
on the upper end of normal
you need to setup a fan curve
i have 4070 normal and it only need a 8 pin connector
i prefer 80c or below, 75 is my favourite number.
they say that 90c is ok but that's insane
I like 67
very hot.
Hot like my döner
thermal throttle point for the 3070 is 87c
I mean 81 82 like 84 is peak but thats while running a benchamrk
anything below that is perfectly fine
nada
In games its usually under 80c
87 is too hot 85 is too hot
when doom dark ages released 5600x went to 90 degrees first night due to bad coding
Very much isn't, there's nothing wrong with temp in the 80s
80 is good, 75 is awesome .. the cooler it is the more efficient it runs the less power it uses
i know because the next day it had an update and no longer went past like 75c
anything north of like 85-86 is danger zone to me..
itx powerhouse from 2015
if the chip has to throttle something is not right
I could repaste it again lol
Not right, sure, but isn't dangerous in any way
5600x must hate me
My hotspot is very high tho
also 85-86 isn't thermal throttling
meme i made about it
what is "very high"
100+
i said it's the danger zone
100 = deado
anything above that
Danger zone implies danger, which there is none
i don't accept
Even at thermal throttle you won't be causing any damage
Thats hotspot tho
That's the whole point of the thermal throttle limit
iroh u don know nothin dawg
The whole card is 80
What fan speed
more than 110
well, 100c is literally the point at which water (and most other things) melt or begin to break down
so, 100 is the limit for me
seller tested furmark (76c default fanspeed)
actually it's mostly just water that gets damaged at 100c
the reason other things get damaged at 100c is usually from the water in it boiling
there’s also lots of things that degrade at 40c
so would you consider 40c dangerous?
allat to get beaten by a 780ti with 1/3 the power draw
The point at which other things degrade isn’t a great measure for what is safe for electronics
though 100c is a good limit
Titan Z:
but would you trade you nano for a 980ti tho
one more chime before i leave, at the scale of things we are talking about, cannot be seen with the bare eye. the changes that temperature make are different. processors that run at 75c or less during their lifetime will outlive a chip regularly hitting 90c.
i have seen it
rx6300 oem
gpus as well fall under that category
Atleast PowerColor, Sapphire and XFX has ITX-sized PCB for RX Vega 56.
at 90c, you can begin to smell your computer
why not reference?
downgrade from r9 nano in performance
blower cooling 💀
more technology m stuff
1 fan, basically the same as a nano
my windforce 970 gets to like 78-80c while running roblox with 3 fans at 1800rpm
same
the nano has fans, while reference vegas has blowers
but they look cool
not cool but cool
I had a Vega 64 that died pretty recently, reference design cooler
sick card when it was new, that blower design tho.. jeeze.. 300 watt card and it was HOT
JET ENGINE
rx vega nano confirmed
but when 40 series semi blower
Gimi the cpu
chillen
aio mod your nano
no. the temps are fine
sick card
and normal
it would look tuff
I upgraded to a rtx 3060 ti. nice card and cheap
just AIO the Sapphire Pulse RX Vega 56 for R9 Fury X looking like.
its a 120 not 360
damn
you can mod it into a 420
i don't think i can put R9 Nano cooling on Sapphire Pulse RX Vega 56, due to ITX looking PCB.
if u want
New cpu
xfx also has itx looking pcb for rx vega 56 and 64, the heatsink is bigger than pcb.
how many cores? all. all the cores.
16c/32t 2.6ghz
Exactly! 😁
3.1ghz all core
18/36
thats turboboost
3.6 boost
Max turbo 3.6, max all core turbo 3.1
- The non A is 18
ahhh
But with significantly lower all core boosts
i see
But I'm pairing it with my current high end motherboard so I can just remove the turbo time limit
cheap too
So effectively, 3.1ghz all core
Keep in mind, this is intel broadwell 5th gen so roughly around zen 2 IPC.
So this would perform like a zen 2 chip at 3.1ghz so not too shit
the radeon vii has same power consumption as vega 64
So performance wise this is a downclocked 3950x
how much does power cost there
would it have not been more cost effective to get a used 5600x at that point lol
in the long run
I think my current plan is 8cents/kwh
jesus
Yes but less performance
really,
Yes, the performance on this multi core wise is around i7 11700k
im figuring about how bigger or smaller is die size on vega 56 compared to r9 nano
Broadwell was the first 14nm architecture.
what metric do you use to judge performance
It's about the same +-1%
So it's not even that anci3nt
yep, broadwell was a huge change. i remember it vividly
Multi core wise this CPU is slightly slower than the 5700x
I didn't go for the 5600x route because it would've taken around ten years with my usage to get back the money spent on new motherboard and the cpu
but you could find a used one on facebook board ram cpu for like 250
Ram I got already as my system has 32GB of ddr4
Even less than that
i just bought a full pc, 16gb ram, 5600x, 3060ti, ssds for 500 bucks
keep in mind i live far away so import was extra
Am4 boards are getting quite expensive in my country unless buying an entire pc
new ones for sure
Used ones too
gotta hunt the dealz
Especially the boards with the i/o and pcie I need for my peripherals
true
As my current motherboard has a ton of pcie and sata, which is needed for my drives
that is a huge factor
Although I am going to be retiring my old spinning rust drives
it's the worst thing about modern pc's, the pci-e lanes
Got some nvme:s lying around
I think like 1400 1500rpm
And this motherboard has 12 sata and 7 pcie slots
Full size
Or 4 were x16 and 3 were x8 iirc
This is the ancient relic pc in question. Been serving me well for some years
I just wanted more cpu performance and the xeon for 40€ was a steal
I mainly play lightweight games so the GPU is fine. It's a 1070. If I need slightly more performance, I have a 1080 lying around.
Rgb
Rgb was the craze back then. Doesn't look all that old
You are old
The cables are a mess because the case is absolutely awful
Tempted to get a fractal case. The north xl or pop air xl seem rather good
I got a coller master one
I can't just get any case. It has to be E-ATX
And also supoort eatx properly unlike this awful case I got now
E atx was Chunky?
Yes
Island
I got atx
On my matx mobo
Wtf why is matx bad
Then buy me a atx one
I didn't really have an option for that. The matx and atx x99 boards were just too cut down
I got b350 or so
B450M Pro-VDH MAX is it
It's not bad but u have mismatched case
I got the blue to
Cheep was it
Atx case on matx mobo is frowned upon
How about an E-ATX case and an ITX motherboard?
literally impossible
it's not that bad
It was 65 total
If I have a GPU with 2x8 Pin but only 1x6 Pin & 1x6+2 Pin Connector can I still use it? The 225W + 75W from the PCIe Slot should satisfy the 300W Power Draw of the Card. Does it check on boot if all of the Pins are connected?
no it's fucking not
Yes it is
maybe in your brain, but in the real world? It doesn't fucking matter
it's literally aesthetics
take advantage of the unused space at the bottom of the PC to put in figs or decoration
or vertical mount the GPU and you won't be able to tell the difference
it literally doesn't fucking matter, and if you tell people it does, you should feel bad about your life choices up until this point
._.
saying that like it's not standard on any modern board from the past 5-10 years
what gpu exactly?
only in ztt would it be frowned upon. here it would be mor advantageous
kinda true ztt community is dookie... very dookie... They would be angry about something like that
can literally vertically mount the gpu with no issues and gain mor airflow for it
vertically mounted gpu never sags
after consideration I'm thinking of getting one of those gaming handhelds with the 395
ofc my PC still hasn't sold soooo
I just said the model of the motherboard? X99e-ws-usb3.1
I'm sad that all of them only have LCDs though
because I was really hoping I would finally get to use a device with a good OLED screen
Steam deck oled
weaker hardware than the 395+
the usb part isn't needed tbh
It's still the name of the motherboard
As there were multiple different versions of the board
There was the normal one, 10G, IPMI etc
But the steam deck has better optimization
And on most games that support the steam deck, it will be a better experience than if you used other handhelds
Since those other ones run windows which is a desktop os so most games won't be good on them
dawg I genuinely don't think you know what you're talking about
why
games aren't optimized for the steam deck they're just certified to run on linux
at that point all that needs to work is the controller which is done by steam anyways
plus I was going to install Linux anyways
not always true
I've got a pc with a 7800x3D and an rx6800, which I use primarily for VR and Unity game development. I'm already happy with the performance, but I want to be able to use a tool called Bakery that unfortunately only works on nvidia GPUs. If I wanna keep at least the same performance and amount of VRAM that I already have, what's my best option for swapping to nvidia, and what does that look like in terms of price?
Also beamng has custom optimizations for steam deck
yes and I'm sure they don't matter
I guarantee any game that works on linux will work on any gaming handheld with Linux installed
YOU don't matter, bub
also brick rigs is also a good example of why steam dih gets more attention
Lego
the reason I say this is because I have experience with Linux gaming as I do it every day
and I have a damn good idea of what will cause problems
running on a handheld is NOT one of them
Devs will put effort to work specifically for steam deck but not so much for random handheld with random hardware with random loonix
Linus
Linux tec tip reference
you are clueless and that's ok
High ratio beef here
the cool part of Linux is that it runs anywhere and the specific hardware doesn't make a difference at all
He's just mean I say real stuff
maybe the architecture could but not in this case because it's the same arch
You are real?
the controller API and the display and all that is abstracted away by the kernel and drivers
can i run linux on my waterbottle
Yes
tutoril
Open bottl aand ad tiny linus in it
there is no difference between the steam deck and any other Linux gaming handheld to the games
linux i said not linus
except maybe some environment flags that you can just set
r/linuxsucks guys go read up on it fellas
😡😡😡😡
it's ez so
give the tiny linus a tiny pc with tiny linux
but then the tiny linux has tiny endless errors and bugs and dies
f tier ragebait
Ye s is base Variant but x is final
oh
i wanna install linux into my cars engine
a friend wants to do a pc so i helped him... anyone knows if this is a good list? https://it.pcpartpicker.com/list/sRFfqH
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Aerocool D501A V2 ATX Mid Tower
unrelated but interesting
buns pc
is the 2tb samaung ssd really important?
no
more
Get an air cooler for cheaper and a 7800x or 7700x.
Next up get a cheaper ssd like a wd 790 or 770.
Then also get a cheaper monitor it's really overpriced for what it is. Don't get Alienware it's overpriced.
the alienware its actually one of the cheapest qd-oleds
oh it's an oled
anyways should i keep a QD-OLED or get a asus rog WOLED?
its 10 euros cheaper the rog
idk
wsp gng
I own a QD-OLED it's really nice
wsppp
This is 3rd gen OLED not the best not the worst
which chat good 1 or 2
I pretty much got the same monitor but QD-OLED instead of WOLED
i saw that QD-OLED is a bit better
there's this alienware QD-OLED
I'd recommend comparing the feature set on which one to get
I got my monitor cause it came with a KVM switch
Get an hp tn panel😍😍
essentially a 4070 minimum
I was also recommended a 5060 TI 16GB, how does that compare?
some people yap so hard it shows they have no clue at all
the 4070 is better
It only has 12gb vram I believe
7700xt/9060xt are directly comparable to the 6800
still better than a 5060ti tbh
The vram specifically is extremely important for vr, vrchat especially
4070 is directly comparable to a 3080 also
is waiting for an OLED 395 handheld worth it or should I just settle for an lcd
4070 is around a 3080
4070 Super is around a 3090 (albeit a lot less less vram)
still doesn't mean a 5060ti is what you'd go for, and like i said, a 4070 would be the minimum nvidia card to compare to it
at much greater performance, or you can go secondhand with a 3090/3090ti
long time no see aran
Good People, any piece of software to sync one and every piece of RGB , that will be able to save the settings on the device and wont require the said piece of software to be on all the time?
Sup Rauko , Sup Barusu
Hope u guys are good
openrgb or signalrgb are the 2 ideal ones
Signal gives me such a headache, and it requires to be on all the time
and doing ok here, getting a little annoyed with my ender 3
literally depends on what you plan on doing
I tend to be hesitant when I'm told a spec isn't as important as I think it is, last time that happened was when I being recommended an OLED monitor. People told me the "MSI OLED Care: Panel Protect" thing wouldn't be anything to worry about but sure enough it became my main problem with the monitor, to the point where I'm considering selling it
you're after a gpu that will match the performance you're getting or better than while being a nvidia card, quite literally a 4070 is your starting point
anything that performs better over a 4070 from that point onwards is where you look at
Does the 5060 TI 16GB perform worse than rx6800?
So You're printing huh?
for raw raster: probably similar, or slightly faster
same performance or very near it
but it's not going to be a big performance jump
learning to, or trying to learn to
Like I said, I'm not looking for a performance jump
yup anymore adjustments? https://it.pcpartpicker.com/list/ my friend specificaly said that he wants a 7800x3d
Choose Your Parts
and said 200 euros budget and it to look good
I see i see
I literally only need nvidia for software compatibility
link fail, you need to use the one from the box above compatibility
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Aerocool D501A V2 ATX Mid Tower
better
i copied it bad mb
So that should be fine then
Does he know why he wants it
Or did he just see youtube videos 🥀
idk
I think I have gotten close to the perfect windows handheld setup (Ally X):
I used GHelper to:
- Rebind AC button to launch or focus Playnite because if you start another Playnite process, it just will focus the window instead of starting another instance.
- Rebind CC button to Win+G so it behaves like the xbox button
Then I kept almost all the Armoury Crate SE services running except for the one that listens for AC/CC button presses.
I configured ACSE to have CC exist in gamebar as opposed to the sidebar (Hence the use of Win+G) so I can still change settings easily
Then I wrote some extensions and a theme for playnite that makes fullscreen mode have support for exiting or focusing a game's window for easier multitasking and provide system info like disk space and network info on the home screen
I have a few things I want to work on when I have more time:
- Figure out how to disable long pressing CC button to send Ctr+Alt+Del
- Write my own service to listen for Asus hotkeys so I can set long press and short press macros. This wil let long press CC be Win+Tab for multitasking and long pressing AC to do something else like launch Discord's overlay or something
he says he wants a good pc that will last him long 🥀 😭 🙏
maybe the 7700x is the best way to go
Tell him he don't need allat
still would go for the 4070, the performance increase would be more benificial to you
my 5700x will last me 10 years I did the math thats on 1440p, on 1080p even longer
yup its not a big deal between 7700x and 7800x3d
7800x3d is fine especially if this is just gaming, but the cooler and ram are primarily the ones i'd change in that build
air cooling better
I think the price increase isn't very justified if I can get what I need without spending more than $200 total
Exactly
he wants it to look good too any tips?
to me "lasting long" and water cooling doesnt sound right
@vapid onyx sorry for the ping but if u don't mind make a gc with u, me and ur friend he seems lowk stupid and we need to set him straight... 😡
ts fortnight?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaIG5SltY8s
Tell him a 9700x is a better choice unless getting a much more powerful GPU.
Use the money saved on the CPU for other upgrades
(Barring outlier titles that *realy REALLY abuse the x3d cache)

Exactly water cooling is poo
I wouldn't get it even if it was a best high end one
tru
Air cooling ftw
extra work and money for no reason
an AIO will outlive most enthusiasts use of a PC
i think ill go whit the 7700x cause the 9700x is a bit overpriced and close to 7800x3d
cool
air cooling works as well
Also, in my original message, I literally said "I'm already happy with my current performance" in bold text lol
so thats my personal recommendation
WD
tbh dude, 9700x offers the same performance as a 7700x especially when it comes to gaming
but so do AIOs. Hating on them for no good reason is pointless
why is it we live in a world that we have invented and use and sell gpu sag devices, but we don't have a device to ensure proper installation of lga type cpu
if people want to use an AIO, let them use an AIO
i am not hating
but i am not loving either

Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, Phanteks XT PRO ATX Mid Tower
i just recommended air cooler didnt force him
Aio will die sooner and be worse for quality
He wants his pc to last long, so aids cooler isn't for him
most people don't care about it 5+ years later
see rauko also removed aio
Rauko the smart one
his friend wants longevity
liquid cooling is just more efficient at thermal transfer than air cooling, but it's still the same amount of heat being transfered
If you're pinching pennies: Air Cooling is cheaper.
But some people still want AIOs.
you can expect ine to use pc for more then 10 years
do not try to pit me against tkitch, you won't win
you never know
He doesn't want them period why are you trying to force urself onto him
people say that, but no PC you build today will be good for gaming in 10 years, doubly so if you're being cheap
my gtx 980 is still running 🤣
well hey maybe he wont use it for gaming in 10 years
only he can tell that
Hello guys is there any mobo/Volting values expert here ? Two of my PSUs died in 3 months and its definitely not coming from the PSUs from what am seeing, are these Mobo voltages within good range or something seems off ?
Please i dont want to have a 3rd PSU die on me
PS: Mobo is ASUS X870 TUF gaming PLUS WIFI
he's just wrong and when gets proven wrong changes the subject
i dont wanna get into this argument so you guys do what you usually do ☮️
You also didn't pinch pennies when buying a 980 when it was new
that was a baller gpu back in the day
get warshipped nerd
My rx 7800xt will be good for long too I didn't pinch penips
what country?
hahahaha
penips
Dude what's up with the kids in the server being megadumb today
some people do have to pinch pennies
idk, but it's a little ridiculous today
not everyone's earning money to spend it all on pc
ya i and even then they will last for big time
speaking of "changing the subject"
Nobody said to.
if you dont want to play newer games
nope, tkitch is correct on what he's said, for me it's a question of the cpu being used and if it's really worth it, i also run a 240mm aio on my 5600x and it's not for aesthetics uses
I have friend who has 1050/ti he still plays stuff on it
Even some new games they work for him
i am talking to @stray portal
you're on a public channel, deal with it
same to you
if you want a private convo? Go to DMs
low setting and 60 fps?
you are contradicting yourself
some of us pinch pennies not because we have to, because we can see the performance where it's at and where it's worth it
prove it rofl
I don't know the exact ways but he also played VR games on it
I should get a vr headset tbh
Probably low settings tho
those must be some weak-ass VR games, cuz even in 2017, the 1050TI was bad at VR
yep but someone people have to pinch pennies because of their financial situation
my friend played cs2 on his igpu
the voltages look fine, but what where the psu's you bought previously and what do you have now?
actualy a really good igpu
Get ready for disappointment I have been a vr enthusiast for some time it's just getting worse and worse
I have a 9800X3D with a 4070Ti, previous PSUs were COoler master X850 Platinum and then the Corsair RM1000e 2025 edition (that i rebought today)
dont get mad please 🙏
I have 2 headsets a quest 2 (decked out with accesories) and a psvr2
I honestly regret the psvr2, the quest 2 using steam link was amazing even tho it has flaws
You sure that VIN3 at 1.640V is fine? as well as that VIN2 VIN4 and VIN7
@rigid fjord You think 512mb of dram is enough for a 256gb sata ssd
vin isn't vcore though
Rec room, left for dead 2, tons of other stuff I don't specifically remember. Never played VR chat it's full of freakers and gooners
iirc cpus nowadays still have the final vrm stage on the die
This HP mini pc I ordered came with a Samsung 860 Evo if it's good enough I'll keep it if it's not I'll replace it with a random kioxia 256gb nvme
expected
try vr mc
with that combo you really don't need more than 850w tbh, and from what i can see of that snapshot, yes it looks fine, if anything check to see if you're running the latest bios
I played quest craft a while I should try vivecraft
for a sata drive that low a capacity, yeah it's ideal
vivecraft?
vr cs2 would be fun
Also wtf I bought this minipc as 8/256 but it has 2 256gb drives? One nvme and other sata
It's a mod for Java you can basically get mods and stuff
I'm planning on using this minipc as a game server host would sata be fine or should I use nvme instead
wait do you get it from curseforge or sum?
Curseforge and modrinth
msata for the other slot from the looks of it
i dont have space for all that
Honestly don't get one or if you really want one get a quest 2 or 3s
thats a topic for future
But I wouldn't buy into it, it's becoming a dead platform
oh
I'm fine with my current storage setup doubt I'll need more than 256gb for now
yeah i updated it like 2 months ago, also there is a little detail that i forgot but i did some tweaking in the BIOS for example Global Cstate control was disabled, and the MC voltage was at 1.424 and i manually set it to 1.2 according to google it was way too high (VDDIO/MC was at 1.424)
And more importantly there is one factor i forgot to mention, my CPU was only plugged with 1 8pin in the mobo the last 3 months, could it be the issue there that it wasnt getting enough power in full load ? I added this morming the second 8pin to the mobo
Currently planning on using this as a minecraft server
500 goof
Vr in general has been on a decline for a while
256 ok but 500 goof
Also after the wow factor wears off, having to strap a toaster to ur face is horrible
nope, you'd only need a single 8 pin eps cable for that cpu
was it ever so popular
Quest 2 got 20 million sales while quest 3 only had 2 million
f
soo what could have killed both my PSUs?
yeah, 256gb more than enough for that, though if you can increase the ram, 16-32gb would be more ideal
I think 16gb would be enough as I'll be installing Linux on this
some kind of short happening would be one way to kill it
you can add more ram later
ah, running it without a gui?
Yeah
that most definitely what happened cause i heard an explosion inside the PSU when it happened, but i have a short UPS protection. its this massive battery that regulates the power. So it has to come from either heat or bad VRM?
Someone recommend me to use pelican panel
I also got a Kioxia ssd but that doesn't seem to have dram from the looks of it
Nvm it does
ok
US
@rigid fjord any idea what could have caused it? i was blaming the mobo at first cause 2 PSUs in 3 months thats not ok
What if 6 psu’s died in 7 months
no way that happened to someone
Six sevennn
Get out.
ive seen that it can draw up to 160-180 and the 8pin can only handle 150max
