I recommend giving these tracks a listen as they're bangers also
banger
you can't go wrong with GWN
id crank the volume but its 8:30 in the morning and im in my dorm lmao
sup

fucking banger
vibe shift but still a banger

by how much percent does 3060ti exceed the 4060
1080p and 1440p charts
the differeence between them is very small wouldn't even call it an upgrade

Anime "The God of High School" Web
http://goh-anime.com/onair...
time to wake the peple next door
i'd just wait until you can afford something like a used 6800xt/4070/4070 Super'
you can find used 6800xt's regularly for 300
bestest dubstep song https://open.spotify.com/track/0QIYINh2AwmOmdu8CRYvlw?si=86057d654b2c4cf6
have you lessened ass again
I own a 6800xt currently playing games like Dying Light The Beast and Cyberpunk at max settings at 1440p at 160fps
you should see the anime it's from
getting a 5070 soon most likely
i watching RFDS
so not much time for anima
broo deadmau5 ghosts n stuff is so good
i hate wifi, why cant my device just choose the AP that has the best connection??
try watching god of highschool then
any martin garrix fans here?
what the fuck is a b840 board
its wrose chipset then a620
instead i have one SSID for one side, and another for the other 😭
literally relabelled a620 but worser
no overclocking and pcie gen3 link to chipset
how the fuck is a B840 chipset worse than a620
only pcie gen 3 to chipset
i just thought it was a slightly worse b850
nope
that makes no sense why not name it just a810
its 50% bandwith to the chipset vs a620
THIS
whatever helps to make the sale ig
AMD really needs to fix their naming for their products
they only changed 1 thing and it made it worse
they're selling a B840M board for same price as a really good b650 board lmao
best part its not listed on amd info about chipset page
bet you many a620's going for the same price as a good b650
jesus
should i use the anti static wristband when installing a new gpu? or do i not have to, cuz idk where it is lol
Asus has a B840 board for 211€ lmao
Asus also has a A620 board for 195€
they're not ITX they're both ATX so no ITX tax
damn would be cool to own a Sapphire board but they only make matx boards bruh
dont forget amd has the r5 8400 and r5 8500 and the 8400 is way better
i have a feeling most of the time "untested" means "we couldnt get it to work, so we pretend we didnt even check"
I see a bent pin on the x670e board
cant see it on the screen you shared but i believe you
I'm tempted to buy the x670e
if its a single bent pin, it might be worth the gamble
at the bottom near the little square thing
in the middle
id still try to negotiate it down more though, pointing out the obviously bent pin
they already did point that out
ah, ok. id still try to negotiate a bit more :D
should be smbus
Want to breathe some new life into my old hp laptop, what linux distro i should use?
No popups and still getting updates lol
Tbf i did just turn it on in weeks but still
It isn't officially supported by 11 either so uhh
how are you supposed to mount these things
those don't look mountable
you.. don't?
those just look you put on top of somewhere
because its meant for a big home or office
I sent a 50€ + shipping offer
its not an enterprise device meant to be hidden behind the drop ceiling
seems pretty consumer grade form factor
if your question is whether one of the bent pins is an unused one, then it very much looks like that to me, yes
do you even own it
im looking for wifi mesh stuff
ough they want full price 65€ since they've gotten 65€ offers
do you also have a 3d printer
currently doing the shit thing of two SSIDs in one house
used to
best of luck! :)
you do realize meshed devices could be literally just 2 routers with easymesh enabled, right
instead of spending $500 on an overkill mesh system, just get 2 $120 routers and mesh em
easymesh?
tp link
ah so its like access points that mesh together to prevent clashing?
its a mesh standard so you can actually mix supported access points/routers. doesnt even need to be the same manufacturer
its literally mesh networking just like the devices you're complaining about
one ssid and all
if what you currently use is somewhat modern, there is a non-zero chance that it already has easymesh support
so check your devices first before you buy more stuff
the newer version of my router does, mine doesnt
so good news
thanks alot ISP
now you only have to buy one router
still two, and i have to disable WLAN on my ISP router
Ohh i misread, my b
because i cant change my ISP router!
lemme guess, xfinity
router is ZTE, ISP is turkcell
damn, that sucks. was worth a shot though
It's literally been unplugged for 5 minutes, what
well if tplink is cheapish in your region, I'd suggest them. I use their networking devices a lot and I've never had an issue
oh well fuck there ya go bud
second that, as cheap as they are, they are surprisingly reliable
tplink is ass
"wuhh china network device" don't care shit works good
infact tp link in general has a monopoly
charging bricks, cables, etc.
every tech shop just sells tp link and nothing else 😭

they're missing so much basic settings and stuff in their router settings
would it be neccessary to upgrade my asus rog strix b450 f gaming motherboard to a newer motherboard maybe a b550, since the pcie is only 3.0 and i just got a 5070
on a budget it gets the job done. their jetstream stuff is a bit hit or miss, you have some advanced features that nobody needs and some basic features just lacking. the omada stuff is pretty solid from what ive seen, but i havent used it personally yet
nah
the 4090 runs the same on pcie 2x16 vs 5x16
I'm running pcie 3 on my 5070ti on 10th gen intel, works just fine, homeslice
so i just need to get 2 of their easymesh "range extenders" (cough just an access point cough) since im not replacing my ISP router
just cant be bothered to do all the cables again 😭
looks better than the old one
their range extenders are pretty ass ngl
literally just get 2 of their routers
yeah the plug in ones def. are
preferably 6e
overpriced too. like almost all range extenders
6e hasnt been certified here yet 😭
lolwhat
is it neccessary to use the esd wristband when i swap gpus or do i not need it? just to be safe cuz then ill look for it, idk where it is lol
yes we're still on wifi 6
Hey, needing some advice.
Trying to get a TPM 2.0 module for my motherboard but don't know where or what exactly I'm looking for.
Can someone help me?
even 5G is still not a thing here yet
whats your cpu
oh my god bruh
in nearly 30 years i havent used one yet, but maybe i will some day
Intel Core i7-5960X
can someone tell me how you can run the proper stress test/stability test for RAM on y-cruncher?
Even with a TPM module addon it won't make the system win11 compliant
thats to say: no, youre gonna be fine without one. if you have one lying around, sure, use it. but i wouldnt go buy one for a gpu swap
Already bypass the windows 11 and running on windows 11.
Plus, not needing it to make my system windows 11 compliant.
well i have one but idk where it is and i think its on the loft bruh i aint gonna go on the loft just to look for it if it isnt neccessary
well, theres your answer. no esd strap it is :D
i should probably move my chair mat then right, cus its not plastic, its like idek what it is like filt type shit
theres a video collab between LTT and electroboom to show how much you can torture equipment with ESD and it still wont break
yea well i just want to be safe thats all
touch a piece of grounded metal before you do the swap (like a radiator in your home or the outside of a PSU thats plugged in but not turned on), dont wear socks on carpet and youre 99.9% safe
plus: even if there is an ESD, its likely not going to do any harm
aight im gonna move the chair mat and take my socks off then
I don't think I've ever once used ESD mitigation
sounds like a decent plan
same, but if he wants to play it really safe, im not gonna stop him :)
i had a period where i got electric shocks from litterally everything, i hated it
isnt really the case anymore tho idk why
dry weather can do that
i mean i guess its probably my work shoes cuz they have some antistatic shit on them
W airtox
also i should probably upgrade to windows 11, but when i tried installing windows 11 last week, when my pc rebooted it just came with a black screen and some error, did it 2 times until it just booted back into windows 10 bruh
New 5600X/5060 build
needs more fans
Agreed
you put a 360mm aio..
on a 5600x..
I’ll put some outside the case too
Indeed, it’s a flip
I hate it
Too bad so sad
Life will go on, you can still be happy
also all negative pressure = bad
Reverse fans
anyone that knows what this could be
snaf
shame it has a 5060 inside it
Was going to have a 3070TI, but saved that for a 5700X build
this build is like something ratchet would fucking do
something failed to upgrade most likely. shouldve given you an error. id just try again and pay attention to any error messages, maybe you missed it by being distracted on your phone or something
It’s a flip, my job is to make it look good 💀
hmm
the difference, this has been decently cable managed
and there's only one gpu
I should hope it has only one GPU and is decently cable managed 😭
looks great
Appreciate it
why does my 5070 have a cancer warning on it 💀
lead? bpa?
thank california, everything that touches their land has a prop65 warning on it
if you dont eat it you should be ok
it just says cancer and reproductive harms
yeah it's a prop65 sticker
what if i lick it?
Looks even more Fortnite kid PC with ARGB 😂
only one way to find out :)
does a dell optiplex have good power efficiency/low power usage
@left dove Cooler La CPU
see look at that normal af build
thinking of having something to run network-wide DPI bypass at home so i dont need to use a VPN on my phone
gym bro's be actively taking lead btw
Whar?
explains so much tbh
Bruh why am i not getting the windows 11 popup on windows 10
because your pc sucks tbh
gonna eat a gpu next time i go to the gym (which is never)
Fish tank cases ew </3
I have windows 10 pro on this thing
(Doesn’t understand the idea of selling to the meta buyer)
(I am just giving my own opinion)
ok
No, i wanna see the "this pc is unsupported" bs
is it rare to find a pc case that has the window on the other side?
(Your opinion is dumb if I’m looking to flip the PC)
(I didn't even know you were trying to flip it)
the smaller ones yes, they typically use laptop grade chips, which is ideal for power efficiency. you dont lose that much power, but gain a lot in efficiency
your flippage is dumb if you think 3rd party opinions are dumb
sit down you turnip
(Maybe look at the chat 3 lines below it)
Microsoft, please give me the popup
Or do i have to activate first
If they’re from flippers, they’re valid. Not non-flippers
lmao ok kid
Flipping is a whole different animal
is there anything here i should upgrade next apart from psu ofc
<@&750150305383186585> scam/advertising
Bro thinks he’s on that type stuff Fr Fr
tuff
Comet/Perplexity scrapes ur entire computer when you install it to train their AI
Fr bro just built different
Wdym? I use comet lol
Microsoft
Please give me the "this pc is too shit" popup
Just installed it for the free chess reviews 😂
ohhh my god jonathan is a techbro this explains so much
What does this even mean lol
this pc is ass, session terminated.
inb4 he thinks that's a compliment
the way hes saying it is wrong, but what hes saying isnt entirely. if you flip stuff, you need to look at what the market wants. while i personally dont like a fishtank case too much, its really popular and sells extremely well. so creating a pc for yourself or creating one to flip is a different thing
Is it ok to ask tech support questions in this chat or should I do that somewhere else
ask
Exactly, bro actually has comprehensive thinking skills. My personal is a blackout build, I don’t make those to sell
you can always ask but may or may not get an answe, but #1027757333117415424 is for support threads
All the sources in their vulnerabilities and other suspicious shit they do can be found here
https://www.reddit.com/r/discordapp/comments/1nygt7n/a_friend_sent_me_this_is_it_true/
flippage usually equates to scalpage nowadays, something that I am vehemently against
Bet thx
LOL
Listed this freaking thing for 50€ on fb marketplace
I got it for free lol
Then put windows 11 on it and welp now people will probably want it
You obviously understand nothing about flipping, thats the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time 😂
No dedicated vram?
i mean, just like any business you can do it ethically or you can scam people. im fine if people flip it in an ethical way, but if you jack up prices like mad, youre essentially scamming people. im very much against that
Yeah but windows lists that
depends on the bios, some don't
It has windows 11 and that's all people want
So I just built a new pc and having a problem with drive. It’s a weird problem. Any suggestions would be nice. Whenever I do a warm boot (like a restart) my m.2 does not get detected in bios. But when I do a cold start (like shut down or complete power off) it loads up and boots in to windows no problem.
I make about $200 per build on average, bc Im good at getting deals 👌
Windows shares the amount of vram ur apu/igpu is given
if it works it works, your being against it wont change anything
Not talking about the laptop, that’s chill
I see, so that laptop price is fine ig lol
If you can sell it for that, I don’t deal in laptops
Purely a custom builds flipper
For example the dgpu is completely disabled on this via Mux and it still says 128mb of vram is given to the UHD graphics
do you buy new stuff and built a pc and sell it?
I mean I'd probably put more but also like I'm not all crazy, this thing was like 370€ new in 2016, now considered ewaste by Microsoft, except not by me, and not by normies that see "ooh, windows 11, that's good"
and not all bios' do the same thing, some don't do that.
Finnish moment
I even owned a laptop years ago that had almost the same CPU/APU slightly better also by HP
I source the parts for a PC, build it, download windows and drivers, test it, and then sell for a profit
Ah, kk
laitteen nimi miau
not if it's using a 'T' sku chip, it's low power but not great
Some about 63 builds this year
Devices name is miau cuz I'm ultra based type shit
thats not flipping tbh, you'r charging for the work you do
depends entirely what you use it for. for many applications T sku's are completely fine
I always called it flipping lol, but yes, that is what I get payed for
well its not flipping and many people do that
the 'U' ones are better while still be low power, and tend to be cpu ones
Cool
goof
Should be selling this one tomorrow, forgive the sucky pics
so where do you buy stuff from?
click better pics
Marketplace, eBay, Amazon, Newegg, several Canadian sites
Occasionally aliexpress for certain things
oh a canadian, I have a question
that technically is flipping, though custom builds
Go ahead
princess auto, is that like, y'all's store for super cheap auto tools
they are better all-rounders (performance and power efficiency), but still, in many situations a T sku is more than enough :) im a huge advocate of: choose the right tool for the job. a cpu might be bad for many jobs, but theres also a lot that a seemingly bad cpu is actually pretty great for, as its cheaper and still powerful enough
it's their harbor freight
I KNEW IT
i think it's the same owner or something
Basically
My dad uses it a ton for our cars, I haven’t needed to get anything from there yet
I call it flipping bc my profit varies per build, based on the deals I get
propper flipping would be buying an already built pc cheaply, doing aa bit of tidy up/refurbishment and then selling it on for a bit mor
I’ve done that a couple times, on insane deals
But I always do things like case swaps, cooler swaps, etc
Put different parts from it in different builds
Harbor freight is goated
i wonder if harbor freight still sells that dinky-ass 2-stroke inverter genny
ehhhhh, sort of
Sometimes their shit's great, other times it's an absolute nightmare
Their engines are goated
I have a rule I will never break around Harbor Freight purchases:
If it failing could significantly, and very reasonably, impact my physical well being or life?
I do not buy Harbor Freight.
they don't sell engines?
I have a big ol toolbox from harby fruit, thing's beefy as fuck and holds so much
They sell some bitchin' toolboxes
and I got it in a pretty blue
actually its pretty close to the floatplane role
maybe a little brighter
They do, its their predator lineup
I have their predator 212 that i modded and slapped into my minibike
i mean still, there is some effort put into it
true flipping is just buying and reselling for profit
well atleast thats what i consider flipping
every time you post this thing it makes me wanna add an engine to my bike
a monkey motorbike
I need to take new pics of it, ill finish rebuilding it soon
Lol

private server
reminds me of this, the honda monkey 125
awww its cute
Thats a neat bike
it looks like it's for a kid but has a proper 125cc engine in and is for adults
👀
Mine is geared to go 40mph, so its very low end
yeah, no noisy hair dryer 50cc engine in it
you can do 70mph on the monkey tbh
when you see an adult on one @left dove
Well its geared for that but its also a 125cc so its not gonna get there quick, mine has an automatic and it gets to its top speed very fast lol
im kinda scared that this winter is gonna suck butt if the weather keeps doing this
I really don't want another ice storm 😭
the pushbike equivalent to it @left dove
what the fuck is that shit
a monkey push bike
I hate it
try it
gonna toss its ass in the arc furnace
looks fun
New ISP doing more work here
Yeah lmao. Address exposed
They are moving the lines down because of clearance. Don’t think they need the incumbent ISP’s permission to move their lines down
Ahhhh there’s cranks. Neat
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7600, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
How is the PC Build list?
this gets like a 2/10
overpaying for everything but the cpu and cooler
87$for 1tb is crazy
mobo, ram and ssd can be changed, windows is free to get, also gpu can be changed
just bought this laptop for 100 dollars thats close to brand new https://laptopwithlinux.com/product/tongfang-pf5nu1g-amd-linux-laptop/
i think itd do well as a linux machine
Hi everyone, making a PC for a friend who has a budget of around £500 and wants to play in 1080p medium settings. The graphics card will be used which is why it has no price on it in the parts list. Any feedback?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 5700 XT, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
youtube mobile minor new ui changed yay or nay? i like
change the ssd and you'd be golden
What should I go for instead?
what storage capacity do yall recommend?
At least 1tb
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower
i need advice
and cpu?
from someone who actually knows their pcs
Depends what you want to do/play
is there any like mid-high spec one you rec?
im looking to upgrade from my i5-10400F + GTX 1660 Super to a Ryzen 7 5800X + RX 9060 XT 16GB
just about how good of an upgrade would this be
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, Radeon RX 5700 XT, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
depends on use case
quite a bit.
so its worth it?
good chunk of an upgrade tbh
yes?
i mean sorry vro i just suck at PCs ngl and yeah
Thanks!
It's a good upgrade, I'd do it
im planning on using one ssd for moving files and the other for gaming
you could possibly get a 5600/5600x for around £60 on ebay
Again, depends what you're doing.
What resolution are you playing in, what graphics card are you using and what games do you plan to play?
also would a be quiet! pure rock 6 work well with the R7 5800X
i see
so for an OS drive you don't need more than 500gb tbh, after that gaming wise a 2tb or better one, and for general storage a decent 4tb hdd instead
what brand is good for hdd?
it would work but the cost of it is probably double that of a pa120se
product not brand on any kind of tech
in sweden i found a pure rock 6 for 40 euros lol
Pure rock 6 doesn't exist and pure rock eitherway is ass
what hdd specs are good then?
wd red plus, wd red pro, seagate ironwolf, seagate exos @gaunt gulch
Ohh, mate it would be quicker but if you're changing platforms you might as well go AM5. Best if you want to future proof, and not be stuck with the old hardware. If I was you I'd get a solid B650 motherboard and a Ryzen 5 9600X. You'll thank yourself in the future.
i wish i had that money
To be fair it's probably the same price as getting a 5800X.
9600x is a waste of money majority of the time
How??
just get the 7500F/7600/7600x whichever is cheaper
why
Less money but not by much and a lot less efficient
very minor difference between a 7500f/7600/7600x vs a 9600x
but big difference in price
you got to look at the price, break down for am4 mobo + 5800x + ddr4 vs am5 mobo + ddr5 + 7500f/7600/7600x
In the UK it's a £30 difference and worth it if you ask me.
meh not really when the difference between the 2 are negligible
same performance as the 7600x while costing more
it's not
It's not just about the performance - it's also a hell of a lot more efficient.
pbo tuning can get you that
effiecency is the least of ur worries with AMD
Yes but he mentioned he's not good with PCs so I doubt he'll want to do that
7600 is more effiecent eitherway
and eitherway the difference is 5w lmfao
that's like a penny in a year
guys
if you want to help me https://discord.com/channels/375436620578684930/1428046173671002274
Mint time
less tbh, more like 0.01p a year
an undervolt easily achieves the same thing
just eco mode with pbo tuning, it'll be the same performance still
It'd be cool if labs tested how long CPUs / Graphics cards can function on temps over 90 degrees, and figure out how much life span they loose from hitting those temps if any at all.
well if you test amd, they're going to take forever, especially with 7000 and 9000 series ryzens
the newer thermal algorithm means it can run at 95c 24/7/395(396) permanently
free itmes from temu 🤑🤑
cpus are built to run at those temps forever pretty much
only degrading thing you can have in cpus if you overvolt them
graphics cards should be the same thing it's just AMD and Nvidia have limits that if you reach a certain temp they'll slowdown the gpu to make it run cooler
iirc for AMD it's 93C and Nvidia I can't remember maybe 73C
Do you think a processor from AMD that hits 95c regularly will have a shorter life span, or do you think it doesn't matter?
it doesn't matter
with laptops you'lll see ur cpu usually sit around that temperature area quite often
unless said laptop has beefy cooling
Laptops run hotter than fuck, get used to it
An AMD processor constantly running at 95C can prob still outlast every other components of your PC
get warshipped, rofl
:(
bro said rofl
Any CPU running at 95C will probably be the last part standing in any computer.
(possibly with the RAM)
ROTFLOLMAOBBQ!!1@!2!OEN!
i just wanted people to give W's for corsair power supplies, shit got water damaged, but safety precaution kicked in and only PSU went to heaven, not the pc as a whole
lmaoborgini
You should only worry about a dying processor due to high temperature if you want to keep it for more than 20 years
got new PSU and my pc lives on
So, the PSU did exactly what a properly made PSU is supposed to do?
(Most likely you will just sell it on the marketplace and get a new cpu just in a few years )
The best 9800x3d after 20 years is probably only worth a few cents
That's actually really cool to know, I imagine that CPU cooling with an AIO, vs a cheapper heat sink is kind of a waste of money then.
it won't matter especially on 7000 and 9000 series ryzens
That... doesn't seem like a bar that should be worthy of crazy praise?
I sold an Intel E5700 a few days ago only for half a dollar
Nobody would purchase an old cpu priced at a dollar
as some may know, it's possible for PSU to take the whole PC with it
shitty psu's be shitty. Which is why we tell people to buy good ones.
Funny story about PSUs, I went cheap and had 3 of them die on my old PC, and the computer never died xD
til you realise he's probably used to thermaltake "smart" psu line previously 😉
well PSU can be shitty and good at the same time, thing can be great for efficiency but can have missing/bad safety precautions. and vice versa
I just wonder how cheap did you go. All three of cheap PSUs going wrong at the lifespan of one single PC is quite rare, just saying
corsair rm750e
efficiency rating doesn't make a good psu
partly
poop
no, a psu with bad protections is a shitty psu.
80+ rating doesn't mean shit
nope
Flac sounds good but none of my audio hardware are enough to make a difference
i am not talking 80+, mostly cybernetics
same fuckin' difference in this case.
I think 99% of people couldn’t tell the difference between flac and aac 256kbps
I can't tell the difference between 128k mp3 and FLAC
it's possible for the psu to be safe af yet be unefficient as shit
no it's not
how so?
Yeh they sound all kinda the same with my equipment
gigabyte p750gm, gold efficiency psu, tier F psu, explodes
corsair cx750-f, bronze efficiency, tier B psu, doesn't explode @wide cargo
Same with me I guess.
The best I'm gonna get is from my Compact Discs, but I don't have the money or even care about audiophile stuff.
No company is going to put the effort and cost into making a PSU with proper protections and then have it fail 80+ or Cybenetics
lower efficiency while being better overal is possible, but no it won't be unefficient as shit
well tier list is something else tho, which takes safety in the tier rating as well
True. It really depends on whether it’s a switch or linear PSU.
And nothing rated B or higher will have poor protections
I imagine with PSUs that the capacitors quality would affect saftey and effiency wouldn't it go hand and hand?
I have three linear PSUs as my bench power supply, and they’re more efficient than cheap switch supplies
takes alot of things into consideration not just safety or efficiency
i am aware
it's less the caps for protection, it's other parts
that's what i meant, i didnt mean it literally
It really depends on what types of power supply it is and the purpose it is for.
you're trying to make a point that's essentially academic, and also not really a thing.
Nothing with A-Tier protections will be worse then 80+ Silver
agreed
Switch power supplies are cheaper, better in some scenarios, and safe
Just less efficient than linear supplies
you are saying it like water damage is predictable
like yeah i got extremely lucky, i agree
for the water damage to hit correct place for safety precaution to activate
yes and no, there are psu's out there that have false efficiency ratings due to a single unit being sent for testing while the same model but a complete redesign/parts have been swapped to the point it has a higher rating than it actually is as a product
to a company like Lian Li or Corsair or Seasonic that makes really good PSUs?
Yeah, it's fairly predictable
They've got years of testing to know what to expect
stop with the shitty AI, we don't fucking care
there are ALOT of variables in play,
looks and points daggers right at aresgame
how the psu is mounted? which way the water is going? did the water hit rails or input stage?
etc etc etc
can't predict really everything
[6] Review sample manipulation / post review design downgrades / frequent component changes without significant differences in branding / paid reviews
rolls eyes
zesty
It's crazy to think that in 20 years our phones may be powerful enough to host a local AI that can do anything with out limits because you can run your own local processing.
it's already powerful enough right now
unless companies limit our hardware to stay at one stage for longer times. looks at nvidia and 8gb of vram
I might be one of them
i don't disagree
I imagine that things like hashing passwords will be quit trivial soon, even 16 characters.
I could perhaps lower the audio quality down, 2mb/s a bit high
can spotify fckin release lossless on linux spotify launcher (ik it's far from legit lossless)
its still a good upgrade in audio quality
Just use tidal, it's worth it if you have good headphones.
agreed
what rock have you been hiding under for the past 5 or so years?
nuh uh
The issue with self hosting is that my clients don't have good recommendion system, I have to play albums or shuffle all songs
having spotify with friends
doubt they would all want to move out
to something else
me who could run his own version privately if he wanted, just because
Tidal was decent but it was super obnoxious having titles constantly come & go off the platform
ddns, dns, and remote control script + web accessible dj app
speaking of self hosted
This is what we've been doing ever since Spotify Family launched. Everyone's ingrained into the social features too, which the other platforms didn't (and still don't?) have at the time so we're sticking with Spotify for now. I also have locally backed up FLAC files of all our CDs though. Very handy when I want more quality or to play Audiosurf.
I'm just hosting an music server
Accessible through web domain, and clients can connect to it
the ddns be for separately audio transfers
what do y'all prefer for the basic necessities in terms of selfhosting? i.e. OS, file server, VMs/containers, media servers
so, via something like a shoutcast ddns/client or via the likes of jellyfin etc?
fucking shoutcast my god
my networking is full on openwrt
they still exist surprisingly
HOW
openwrt is freaking godsend
icecast also
Navidrome hosted on docker
Then cloudflared tunnel to the port
I tried openwrt, my router was shit and has like 256 mb of ram at the time, and it crashed and froze.
anybody here heard of pangolin?
I was thinking of getting a rasbery pi to do routing.
pangolins are cute, yeah
i meant reverse proxy
it works great
practically the only thing i paid for was the domain in my homelab
my routers have 256 MB of ddr3 ram
works fine on my side
even with VLAN's
mint done
the laptop is HP Pavillion G6 btw
someone pls help me
openwrt can work on a friggin' spud with an antenna jammed into it
yeh, thing is godsend
especially if you like digging into UART flashing of stuff :P
I've always preferred listening to CDs.
eugh, puritan ||/j||
I tried hosting a samba server on it, and a open wire, I think that was too much.
yeah no
don't use openWRT as a "Server"
it's not worth it
I might owrt my tp link
anyways
if anybody finds one of these puppies on sale: https://www.cudy.com/en-eu/products/wr3000-1-0#specs
great owrt machines
good with vlans and wifi as well
Is doing a not ehternet connected wifi mesh easy with openwrt?
ehhh it's doable, but it does need some skill for cli
iirc
i also not recommend ever doing mesh systems
hugely against it 99% of the time
Why is that?
stability, interference and stuff
Cisco light weight APs have auto detection for that.
I agree, but running a cable can be a bitch xD
you will thank yourself later
for doing it
and when you are about to run them
The only reason why I was thinking about mesh is for out doors. It'd be cool to watch tv in a hot tub while it's snowing.
dont forget to run reserves as well
anyways, my homelab "map"
I use to do that for a job, the best way to do that is to take out the length you need then grab the cable from the box as your end point that way you run two cables.
How do i figure out the pinout of this crap?
I guess the little dot is probably pin 1
Do you guys recommend I get a mic instead of headphones with a mic?
if you do want the quality ofc
Aight thank you
afik there is head sets with good mics and audio, however, they are much more expensive than getting them seperate
nothing in datasheets?
I don't know if this thing has a datasheet
what is this "thing"
Digital signage pc
got model number and maker?
also in theory you could just use multimeter
and find ground and 5v, considering it's usb2
rest being data iirc
Maker is aopen and model is DE3450 Z
Depends entirely on why you need a mic. 🤷 for online gaming, headset mic can be fine. For professional music recording, dedicated mic will be much better.
orrrrr if you just want a mic :P
My snow ball is over 10 years old at this point, the only shitty part about it is the USB type B port on it.
condenser mic, meh
Got a basic 3D printed sag bracket!!!
whats wrong with a condenser?
not the pick for "gamers or streamers", unless you sing ofc
I don't really need the headset mic cuz my pc has a speaker, or do I?
or you want keyboard ASMR
What? What does your PC having a speaker have to do with getting a microphone...? I am confused.
lol, I thought that was rage bait, I wasn't going there.
No I'm replying to what you said about headset mic
But if i had to guess, the motherboard is used across multiple models
anyways, i believe MOST people should buy dynamic microphones with XLR for gamers
instead of condenser mic
it's not even that expensive nowadays to get an audio interface with xlr cable and xlr dynamic mic
also talking about audio
sony mdr-7506 are pretty good headphones
Are they expensive?
Okay thank you
pretty much best headphones for the price

o shit
Clean brick
lenovo in the gpu game
it'd be cleaner if it didn't have rgb
Optional
yeah i was very surprised by the performance of the cooler on my prime 5070ti
I can barely break 60c
No I get that, I just like the understated blocky design is all
well tbh i am mostly on the smaller pc side, i literally have mATX build myself
i find mATX perfect for 99% of people
I'm very much into pcs being black/beige bricks
No glass, proper sound deadening, proper filtration, ducting potential, etc
oh yeah when I upgrade my tower I'm going to matx & a lian li a3
i have this case, with glass panel tho cuz it was for some reason cheaper with the glass panel
201 is also on my radar but is a little too wide for my plans
Essentially I'm gonna stack it atop of my server beside my desk to free up some floor space
the lights kinda ruin the photo, it looks better irl
no rgb, just wires
also discord compressed the shit out of it
delicious copper spaghetti
I like how they made the brick design not ugly
right??
that usb hub is crazy
Also what's going on with lenovos branding instead of being in the side or the product line logo in the centre there's there a simple logo in the centre.
is it me or the picture is ai
usb3, 90w, individually switched ports
of the lenovo gpu, there is AI smudge everywhere
There used to be like ThinkPad or think centre in a corner or in the middle or the lenovo logo on the edges of. The laptop but now it's just centred and doesn't fit in
I'm ditching the white 4000d soon though
I have a feeling something has to do with this
Ur building a new one or smtn?
it looks AI generated
pretty much yeah
Yeah the inconsistent logo
and the fins
What case are u getting 🤔
Beautiful and simple while being cheap
i am happy with my asus ap201
Im buying something similar when I get my own house and get on my feet
Looks like it can fit a decent aio
Decent port selection in the front
Yuh
@left dove where the psu going? I don't see a space for it
front
Hmm nice
The top is ez detachable so it's ez to clean the aio
I probably won't run an aio tbh
One downside is that the pcie cover looks like those snap off ones which is not nice
No like the break off ones
angled, weird spacing, tabs on the left
Like if you remove u can't put it back
they're individual.
Oh fuck
Didn't see that there I guess the shop has bad pic quality
Overall a nice case
Pretty much the build, unless I decide to go 265k again
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/h7L6Jn
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9700X, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, Lian Li A3-mATX MicroATX Mini Tower
That's dirt cheap omg
because I've bought most of it already lmao
idk mang, i just watch for sales
Same but there's rarely any sales in pc parts cuz most of them come from small shady business
That's the case here
The shit went up to 5k when I was building a pc setup list for my friend
A very low population exists in india who knows a lot about computer who are also minors
why nvidia?
got particular reason?
Cuz yes
dlss is present in nearly all of the games I play
🤔
helps with running native 4k120
Also I got a skateboard signed by the tony hawk
is it the day where people choose gpu based on dlss and fg capabilities?
pretty much, yeah
it's what drove my decision
I don't buy because of "raw horsepower"
I buy what's gonna work for me the best
I also didn't want to drop a grand on a 5080 so getting a 70ti for msrp was good enough for me
None of the chats are active
it's wednesday & people are working
So, I changed PCs and I usually run linux so I wanted to transfer some files.
Problem was none of my PCs have
integrated GPUs so I used an old
Quadro on my old one for video output.
For some reason it fucked up my
monitor and Idk what to do
what do y'all think about openMediaVault?
omv is ok, but only if you add omv extras
windows 10
I don't see anything
just install normal windows 😭
Ik,ik, I used a laptop to see if it fixes itself with win
my server setup
get windows 11
Why does that look like ghosting
Flickers + ghosting from the linux ui
ew
Is this monitor a monitor used for server ?
what's bad about it?
No wonder it got ghosting
i prefer it to 10
truenas
He showed trunas scale docker omv all the flavours
i dont recall omv on ltt
I only really got into it because jake kept using it in vids like 2 years ago
What do yall think of the iPhone 16e
Omv was cook
Iphone 17.
My server
Wow
I found a 16e local used for 180usd
Bruu i wish I was in the land of the free
hey, i had b450m ds3h as my main mobo before
cool
i now have b550m ds3h
Nope, just a cheap IPS gaming monitor
Nice, I would say it’s an excellent board for home servers.
i like your tri display setup
Now to explain, I just switched PCs and I wanted to transfer some files. Neither PC has an iGPU so I used an old Quadro I had laying around on the old PC to have video output. After I started the PC linux looked wierd but I left it as is to transfer stuff. After I switched PCs, I noticed the screem had ghosting of the Linux desktop
thanks
I bet that’s more efficient than my 3600x. I had to manually control its PBO to make it stable under stress & doesn’t burn electricity like a furnace. Also mine doesn’t have a GPU so its computation power is kinda bad.
cpu is quad core and literally maxes out at 75 watts
is decent at encoding too
the iGPU, works great with jellyfin
quite a few containers as well
@rigid fjord I hate windows again, their old updating even when gaming antics are back
(don't ask why i have windows inside docker container)
buy win11 pro duhhhh
nuh uh
smol pool
Im using pro....
idk, user error or something
i have windows 11 pro too]
it cures league of legends and fortnite addictions
WHAT
yeah but no battlefield 6
mid anyways
it do be tiny tbh
as i said, smol
i mean hey, i am not privileged to have hotswappable bays
anti-homeless stuff in pokemon games oh my god bruh
sharta
everything is done with double sided tape inside ATX case of mine
oh god
just went to the Intel museum
NICE
I've never been so happy
please tell me thats with SSDs and not HDDs then
as i said, i am not privileged to buy custom rack case
I've also never spent more in a museum gift shop
you have HDDs secured with tape?
wrong reply, oh well
look, i just have one bay slider inside the case, what am i supposed to do
the case isn't being made anymore
get a case (even if still tower) with more
i am cheap bastard
so no
just now i am crying cuz i paid for new power supply for my pc
PSUs arent that expensive, unless you are buying something gigantic
i do wanna get rack mountable external bay sometime but it's not now
i am student
everything i pay for hurts
ahh, makes sense then
i find 110 bucks expensive as hell for PSU
our resident Mark does
Who’s mark tho
@robust trail someone wants to know about dgx, also hello
@ocean axle also, if it works, don't fix it
no, if it works, but might be a problem in the future, do fix it, because it will break
it won't be a problem tho
a tape secured HDD, yea, fix that
also, what's the max length of sata cables
what nas software do yall use?
truenas scale
openMediaVault
ZFS CLI, but use truenas
bruh PSUs have like a 10 year warranty, and it’s like your pc’s life insurance, it’ll make sure your 3K usd GPU doesn’t end up in the trash
Who thinks linus looks like the pastor from young sheldon?
as i said, it's about point of view
how specific, and an interesting way to enter lmao
i don't have monthly funding
if it works, don't fix it
They're talking about the tape failing and causing physical damage.
^
it ain't failing, it's mounted on the floor, not vertically
floor of the case
that.. is vertically
i still stand by my do do that
I got an RTX 6000 Pro Blackwell***, a ryzen 7 9800x3D and like 12 fans connected, you think I’ll risk my whole set up to save 50bucks? If you can’t buy a good psu, don’t get a PC
with SSDs, sure, whatever
anyways you should still have the drives in a cage so they're spaced enough for proper airflow
but not HDDs
oops
HDDs moving around is a problem, and so is lack of airflow, and so is them not being level
goated altman
i can't get the parts for the cage
the holders specifically
that's the issue
you could quite literally buy just a standalone hdd cage
it does get annoying often
once i get funds for making full on rack bay
it's either big or nothing.
doesnt need to be
its nerf or nothing
you can get something physically small
especially with 24TB+ drives existing
yea, a small cage is fine, because you can get big drives for it
i have different plans
no real need for a ton of bays
well i am planning for 8 slot bay
so, pretty small
for my rack, with the server staying as it is, yet moving the drives externally
and connecting them through a pci-e card
i dont remember what it's called
also, rack isn't necessary
i already have a rack
(external) HBA
then by all means use it
@left dove @wide cargo ill do some readup on both (tho i already know abit anout truenas) , is it worth buying an ssd for the boot drive? or should i just use one of the sas drives that i already have set aside for the rig?
Do ssd
Autocorrect smh
Is ur rack inside a 3d printer
the boot drive doesnt get used much, and should be an SSD (a small cheap one is fine, its basically just ROM)
What

oh, thats a smol networking rack
it's cute and works great
ssd for boot is mandatory
🫡
very recommended, but technically not mandatory*
it'll work with an HDD, but just dont
why tf is the minecraft xbox 360 christmas pack music playing
Mine is kitted out, mildly neglected, and untuned
oh last question, is there a minimum ssd size?
256g is plenty
why is he naked 😭
yes, but basically anything is large enough
a $20 256GB SSD is fine
hwat
the board
i neglected my ender once i started using the centauri carbon, it needs some love and tlc again
you can look up hdd cages still
because I haven't printed a mount for it yet
I've got a bambu a1 mini coming tomorrow that's gonna be printing a bunch of new, more precise parts for basically most things on the old gal
thank you, ill go for that 😄 i had both a 120 and 256 in my basket just didnt know if theres was a “too low”
i have the cage in the case, issue is i don't have plastic doo-dats slidey slidey things
what are the patch panels for, and the two switches
120 is also fine, too small is like, 5GB
DGX?
Sorry I was doing fuckery
even the 16GB optane drives are fine
Also that's just the touch display, not the mainboard
oh perfect
48 port one is my main core switch, the 16 port unmanaged one are cameras
Who wanted to know about Spark?
ah fair enough
mark is here
bigtree screen with wifi add on ?. also you could 3d print the sleds
Spark spark
not wifi, that's the rotary encoder
how is that screen ?
its awesome tbh
oh?, not gotten the wifi addon ?
i couldn't find the correct model for it anywhere
and i ain't modelling dat
I have it paired with a btt skr e3 v2, tmc2209's(?)
Bring me your questions and I will do my best to answer. 🙂
I have a long stretch of usb going behind the couch to the pc so i can just have everything ran off the tower
it's a standard model, mainly for dells
