i think the confusion in general stemed from the fact that the CPU automaticlly ajdusts its multiplier based on TDP and cooling conditions

i meant Sandy/Ivy "locked" CPUs were actually "limited unlocked"

so if you had a non-K CPU, you could still OC it by 400MHz on every turbo ratio above the official turbo ratio, if you had a P or Z series board

in my case "overclocking" a J4125 involves upping the power limits since thats how the gemini lake automatic turbo scaling system works

so 10W at 2.6GHz, i mgiht get 2.7GHz on 15W
