well eh
I see. Was just worried about battery health lol.
I should make it. give the world trust issues
huh??
was worried it was gonna degrade the battery of the mouse
Wait I am not meant to use the switch charger to charge my speakers?
so do not charge it at all?
from what i remember its not really actual PD
also if it works after plugging it in that means it just works
unless it splodes right after its fine
wdym
Considering I’ve done it a few times it’s should be okay
i learnt not every cable that fits is the same with my old steam link
plugged into laptop charger and popped it
was it usb c on both ends
charging it at all will make the battery degrade
Guys -
Gigabyte M27Q X vs MSI Optix G274QPX
Finding both for the same exact price - gigabyte doesnt include shipping yet though
Help on the choice appreciated - was going msi but 1 unit of gigabyte popped up
Ik but I thought using a charger rated well above the provided cable will expedite the process
huh
there is a reason iphones still charge at glacial speeds
USB-C Power Delivery first requires negotiation of charging power, so your device will provide it's power limit and the power brick will abide by it
well ok not as much anymore
yup
the device can only charge so fast
Guys, some help appreciated here
most mice anyways only charge at like 1w
Doesn't matter if the cable/brick are rated for 240w, if the mouse says 5w max, it'll charge at 5w
the attack shark x3 claims it needs a like 5w charger but can make do with 0.5w
slightly different specs, but one isn't necessarily better than the other, make the decision bsaed on the specs
i need to check how much it pulls when charging
Changed my mind about buying a camera
As much as I want to take pretty pictures :> - I sorta need better peripherals
Pretty sure there are cases where the voltage and amps can mess things up if they are too high?
anyone here use vxe r1 pro max?
voltage yes but that is why we have PD
stop it
what's wrong
that is something you never do
expound
ipads wont charge without pd, no?
Nice weather innit?
you mean to say to just ask straight up?
That’s free cooling
just absolute zero, nothing to worry about
Actually pretty hot ngl
Might need to wear sunscreen today
Leaning towards msi
thinking of building a sleeper build
enter
I have had that thought a number of times and my goto case for it would be an old Dell Optiplex NX/GX case likely the double height one
I would need to do something about airflow for modern parts of course since that case is from the P2/P3 era of computing
I have always loved that style of case honestly
What is p2
Player 2 usually
I meant P3
Haha get it
Its funny because thats not what you asked
But also that does not make sense
I know, its probably not true either
Pentium 2 and 3
same
I had a Optiplex GX115 with a p3@933mhz and 384megs of ram and a 80gb hdd paired with a Nvidia FX 5500(it was plenty for the older games I would play)
Thing was so easy to work in it was great
2 buttons and prop it open and you are set
The Pentium II is a brand of sixth-generation Intel x86 microprocessors based on the P6 microarchitecture, introduced on May 7, 1997. It combined the P6 microarchitecture seen on the Pentium Pro with the MMX instruction set of the Pentium MMX, and is the second processor using the Pentium brand.
Containing 7.5 million transistors (27.4 million i...
How do I check if my motherboard usb c port is just for data transfer or it supports pd
Check the manual honestly @harsh vector
I've been reading it
If it doesn't say anything then it likely doesn't
when is AMD gonna release 10800XT which rumored to use N3P or 2nm process node
i wanna upgrade my CPU
We don't know when the next cpus are going to be released
why do you need a new amd GPU to upgrade your cpu
they either mean x or x3d
i mean the 9800x3d is already more than enough for even a 5090 in 1440p/4k gaming
but yeah I plan on at least a 7900 XT to replace my 3070 Ti thanks to it failing in newer titles at 1440p thanks to the lack of vram on the damn thing fucking nvidia shafting all these gpus
Hopefully my 5800x3d can hold out until AM6
That's all I see related to usb c
might be worth waiting for 50 super if real
which hopefully all the bugs will be worked out of AM5/DDR5
Like I said if it doesn't sya then just assume it doesn't
i mean all USB C ports are going to support at least a bit of power delivery
Iff those aren't around the $600-$650 range then they are useless for me
might just be 500mAmps honestly lol
Rip, I've been using it to charge my ipad and ps5 controller. Gotta move it to my monitor then
you can just say .5a
I know some MB's charge devices even when off via 1 USB port
BUT those ports are usually labeled in the manual at least
Running games on a 6k display must be hella difficult?
about twice as difficult as 4k
DLSS/XESS/FSR makes a BIG difference for that @wheat torrent
Holy moly
Then theres the running at less resolution and then scaling to fit the screen LOL
i mean there's about 2x the pixels
then I assume I shouldn't use it on my ps5 controller as well?
AKA what we were doing before BEFORE the upscaling techs came out
I am thinking of the idea of getting a retina 32 inch
kinda defeats the point of a higher resolution monitor
It would just tkae longer to charge honestly
Depends on the resolution of 6k
"6k" is a nonstandard resolution, so there's a couple common variations
and what res you are interscaling LOL
I mean ps5 controller can only do 5v tho can't it
I would imagine it's just usb
your options are:
3008x1692
2004x1128
1503x846
and anything beyond that is abysmal
take that res and divide it by the most common used resolutions and see if any can run in interger scaling mode without bars
5v input via usb but is converted down to 4.2v for charging the battery inside the controller, and 3.3v for pretty much the rest of the circuitry
There ain't a single common resolution that integer scales with it
Hmm
Yeah none of those are common honestly
Agreed
5070super 18gb might be
The displays must look phenomenal though I assume
Apple does good with their display tech
even their IPS panels are quite good
Retina resolution with very good colors and saturations
What panels do they use I didnt see anything mentioned, it must be oled
Hopefully as I am looking to future proof for VR ontop of 1440p gaming and once games start requring the full 16GB opf VRAM then tossing Vr ontop of not going to work well as that requries an addionatal 1-1.5gb of vram
depends on the device
Mmmm miniled, IPS or tandem oled
Which is partly why I am looking at the 7900 XT at least with its 20GB of vram I was hoping that the 7900 XTX would drop to sub $650 by the end of the year but it doesn't look like it
They cost a fortune
$1k stand anyone?
Nvidia and 9000 has better memory management
Also most of their displays are DP alt mode only
just as an extra fuck you to anyone with a non-apple device
What does this mean for me
Just use a DP to USB-C cable
the apple engineers are just like "but 60hz on apple is basically 120hz on windows"
Currently how I am using my portable 15.6" monitor on my desktop

like that one clip where an apple engineer erroneously claims 8gb ram on mac is equivalent to 16gb ram on windows
I think I'll skip and settle with a normal oled
Weren't iphones stuck with 4gb of ram for the longest time?
But 6k Apple display must be godly
till the 14, which is 6gb
My tablet has double that LOL
16 is 8gb
seemingly it's "every two generations at 2gb of ram"
maybe the 18 will jump to 12gb!
Plus I have no 32 inch version in my country only 27 and it costs 2500usd the cheapest
the fact the iphone 16 has the same amount of ram as the base model mac from like 6 months ago? is crazy
u mean 480*
Anyone know of a mouse with a "clutch" on the side and a HI DPI setting at about 9k at the lowest and doesn't suffer from double clicking issues after a time of use?
My Razer Baslisk v1 is having the double click issue and its driving me up a wall
Well yea, "razer"
"but lighter mice are scientifically better"
-vaux
G503 should be good
I do not have the space for a light mouse
Vaux is a idiot
I know people like that use low dpi and their entire arm for mouse movements and I have never had the proper space for that minus one time with my corner desk but that was well after having used a TINY desk that would barely fit a 24" main and a 20" secondary both 16:10 LOL
Meaning i was forced to use the max 7200DPI on my Razer Death Adder 3.5G even for basic windows usage
Well how much idle memory does macos use
so I was forced to use minute movements using my wrists
and thus since I was using that for basically half my life its what I am use to using
Hence the "clutch" on the side of my basalisk being helpful for sniping in shooters like Fallout series
for more precise aiming by dropping the dpi down to like 800 or less
I know people swear by the 502 LOL
how
grumbles every search I am doing for the 503 brings up the 502 instead
Minus a reddit review without any links https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/jcto7l/i_bring_to_you_the_logitech_g503_aka_my_personal/
does the g503 even exist
Just like 2 images and thats it
5 years ago according to reddit LOL
So something exists that fits my critera of a mouse
criteria being?
"clutch" on the side for dropping the DPI for shooters heavier mouse and at least a 9k DPI setting
Looks like my current mouse is 107g in weight
at least according to razer
and one that doesn't suffer from double clicks after a while as that is what my current mouse is suffering from and its driving me NUTS I can't even drag windows around my desktop because of it
becuase it does a double click instead of click and hold
would buttons work for this?
id go for a m913
sensor for me atleast is good enough
wonderful for productivity
I need to be able to switch between low and standard(hi) in a blink of an eye so the clutch works perfectly with that for aiming down sights of a sniper rifle
Wireless over wired for desktop usage?
m913 is a MMO mouse LOL
pressing one of the buttons on the top is fine
what idk what that is
12 side buttons LOL
some games i dont even bother playing without it
never played an mmorpg in my life
so uhh
unless terraria counts but idk
maybe for you but that isn't going to work for me for switching between 9k and 400/800dpi on the fly
my amd software refuses to show anything except the first frame of some games when i try to record
you can very easily just press one of the 2 buttons
theres 5 modes you can cycle through
simply change it about
Whats the lowest those sliders can go?
Whats a good gpu with a price range of 500-600 dollars rn?
rtx 6070
The 5070 is still over $750
i said 6070
100
tech chat 1 is oddly silent
whys everyone in tech chat 2
whats so good about tech chat 2
its not even the original
Ok because all the fluff just says 1000 as the lowest
Hello you all, its me again, I also want to buy a second storage for this laptop ROG Strix G153 G513QY Advantage Edition I just want it for extra storage https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-Internal-Gaming-MZ-V8P2T0B-AM/dp/B09JHL33X7?th=1, it doesn't have to be fancy, is this a good one?
SAMSUNG 980 PRO SSD with integrated heatsink disperses heat to maintain speed, power efficiency, and thermal control, preventing downtime from overheating on Playstation 5 and PCs. Powered by an in-house controller designed to harmonize the flash memory components and the interface for top speed ...
wtf is that link, so long...
%2!!!
I don't know bro
anyway, samsung 990 pro is good drive, but pricey
idk what this is but i had it on, is it good or bad
what would you recommend instead?
whas that mean
sn5000
He had a link with like 30 %2
lol
does a %2 do something or is it js tracking and advertising stuff?
Just advertising tracking stoof it was a chungus link
something like a lexar nm790 or 990 evo plus or something would probably be good enough for you
why nothing from WD
wd's are good too
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/scaryfoster/saved/#view=mLBmFT
is this build good? Anything u would replace?
Saved Part Lists
https://www.amazon.com/Lexar-7400-6500-NM790-NVME/dp/B0C4ZV5Y7X lilke this one, right?
sn5000
the good wd's here are expensive af tho
sn5000
75 euro for 1 tb refurbished, yikes, samsung evo is 60ish new
where tf do you live
Netherlands
Check tweakers.net for netherlands
the sn5000 is cheaper?
shit
no wait what
the sn500 is still cheaper?
how can I make sure this one will fit in my laptop?
what was the old ssd
or just take a pic of it
I haven't opened yet, is with the stock ssd
install and open crystal disk info
well yea its a laptop
105c is a little warm there buddy
a little
you could get a 2tb drive for that price
idk if ur talking to me or notm but its a desktop
huh
nzxt motherboard?
nah
uuuuuhhhhhh
asus TUF, so tuff🥀
i think that i lwk got scammed and i wanna change my gpu and a new cpu fan cus im with the stock amd one
@swift night get either one of these instead
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/f4cG3C/silicon-power-ud90-2-tb-m2-2280-pcie-40-x4-nvme-solid-state-drive-sp02kgbp44ud9005
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
thanks!
just get a sn5000
wasn't P400 Lite tlc
it is
yeah just get that then it's cheap
but first link is what they tend to go for
the SN5000 is 20 bucks more
yeah nvm @swift night don't get the ssd from the first link get the 2nd one instead aka this
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hkmNnQ/patriot-p400-lite-2-tb-m2-2280-pcie-40-x4-nvme-solid-state-drive-p400lp2kgm28h
amazon is almost everywhere now
lol. Congratulations you have fiber internet
Just need an ONT and router.
Waiting on a Norwegian branch.
na just gonna wait a week for stuff from ali
thanks again!
may iask what cpu you have
r5 5700G
crazy
what country
are you using the igpu
no you do not
(i did not know shit about pcs when i got my pc)
r7 5700G mb mb
no, gtx 1650
that you can have
why a 5700g then
the igpu is probably better lol
specific link was for america
i do not know
it was a friend of a family member that are co workers
from Paraguay, gonna buy it from USA and ship it here
fair enough
hm from my knowledge a r7 5700g should not be getting that high unless you forgot to peel the plastic off the cooler or you dont have one attached to begin with, those g chips dont pull a lot of power anyway
ay caramba
it absolutely shouldnt be that hot yeah
pre built, and i didnt know shit about pcs so i saw r7 and nvidia and i was like "ah yes thats good)
kind of
id recommend upgrading that gpu lol
anyway yeah it shouldnt be that hot
i would recommend figuring out the temps before upgrading anything
yeah
no shit, the guy said he re-applied thermal paste, didnt do shit (i think he didnt even peel the sticker off the cooler, which is a stock amd one) and my parents wont let me get thermal paste so i can remove the cooler so i can re-apply and potentially change it
worry about that before an upgrade
i would be going for a 2nd hand 4060ti 16gb
wdym they arent letting you get thermal paste thats such a random thing
it costs as much as a regular 4060
thats fine
same price as the p400 lite
they do not trust me, think ima break my pc fr
😭 🥀
amn is at risk of eating the thermal paste for better body temps
body temp before = 37.5c
body temp after = 36c
rel
i would recommend taking the cooler off and seeing if the stickers on or some shit
dont i need thermal paste, so i can put it back on ?
you do
yeah just have a quick look
wat
see what the issue is
i need thermal paste cuh
yea ya need new thermalpaste
i dont care for g chips but i actually feel bad for that one
if the sticker is still on it id take the sticker off and just not use the pc until you do get thermal paste
one of my close friends asked me if the part list from a company was a good deal or not, i saw so many red flags and had to ask how much they where charging for it.. in gbp it was iirc 1800, it had a 7500f, x870e board from asus, 1 stick of 32gb 5600 cl40, rtx 5060 ti (8gb) n a 1tb ssd, i told him he was gonna get scammed so i made him a list with good parts for straight gaming while costing like 100-200 more
9800X3D and 5070 ti?
as you can fully fir those in there
why this over the earlier recommendation? or it is just another option?
look at the speed
9070xt, he wanted pure amd
yea das good too
bargained with my parents
and im getting thermal paste tommorow 🗣️
im doing the switch up from amd gpu to nvidia which probably isnt the best idea rn considering drivers
good.. im thinking, get the 5080 now or wait till the super releases, same exact gpu in terms of specs just one has 24 gigs
man fuck chatgpt plus, im tryna ask it which thermal paste that is available in the electronics store is the best
we're really doomed
the amount of people i've seen use ChatGPT for pc tips is alarming
bro, there is litterally no info on the pastes on the site
and it aint like they are some popular ones
i think?
mx6
i use thermalrights own paste, i havent had any issues with thermals
just get that
yea just use the paste that comes with the cooler
for him he wants to replace his
so got no spare
cheesecake
ah then yea, mx6 is an easy route
its cheap and good
anything tech related should never be asked to "ai's"
there is the thermal grizzly conductonaut available here, and btw i do not know what came with or if the guy that made my pc used
my rx 580 is just begging to be retired bro i can barely run gta 5 with high settings
Don't use Liquid Metal
oh?
o hell no
It is conductive, so if you leak any it will kill your motherbaord
oh damn
You need a specific barrier, and it requires reapplication after a period of time
there is grizzly kryonaut
never use LM's on gpu's also
a midrange card from like 10 years ago
from what i remember isnt the liquid metal shit for like the extreme overclockers that know exactly what their doing
wanna replace thermalpaste every 3 months?
man idk what each thermal paste is and is made out of
also mostly only good for direct die
nah, as i said there is no info on what these pastes are
and there we have thermalpads now
it just wont die but at the same time it works for half the shit i play (with fans at max speed obv)
if it says "LM" next to it, it's liquid metal
maybe send pics here?
ignore "термопаста" it means thermal paste
not looking to upgrade anything in my rig, its pretty dated at this point anyway
is that why my temps suck?
next rebuild would be mini itx am5
wtf there is mx6
is that good?
why tf do you think i said it before
idk, it may be shit
also holy hell kingpin stuff is there, do not go for it but just wow
how could i know
maybe check the chart specifically provided to you
too hard
cant read
what?
just grab the arctic mx-4/mx-6
duh
i would buy it just to frame it lmao
would i5 12600KF with a B580 cause a high amount of bottleneck in 1080P
none
is kingpin also LM?
stop trusting random bottleneck websites
no, it just sucks
oh lol
dude, im a rookie wym
save me 9060xt
na im just not sure how it performs i think its good but no clue how long it lasts
come save me 9060xt
nobody with a brain uses the b word
anyways what is your current specs
non
fucking bummed i got denied for scholarship else i would've gone ham for a new build
Test run of the gas furnace
im getting my first pc
what is your budget and contry
Looking for good rgb fans. not too expensive cus i plan on installing 10 of them
blow it up
I can smell the dust lol
35K just for the case and Turkey
Arctic P12 pst ARGB
yummy turkey
rip welp cant help much there then
those specs should be fine
i'm not knowledgeable on deli meat
I didn’t really hear the limit switch turn much and I was starting to get a little worried
The limit switch is basically a metal wheel. Atleast in this furnace
buy that one
do not buy 60%'s for the love of god
i love mine
just buy one with a numpad
we love function over minimality

numpads are useless
what are your choices
tenkeyless my beloved
they are usefull for me
numpad is overrated, i have one and i use it only for random controls on warthunder, tkl is goated
yup main is TKL and another on the way from ali
Razer, MSI, SteelSeries, Logitech
razer is overpriced, with generally subpar quality
never get mainstream peripherals other than monitors
and malware like firmware
So not like.. Keychron?
yea js buy one of those random keyboards with features no one will use
Keychron is not mainstream
Keychron is a good option
Keychron is not really considered mainstream, so they're exempt from that advice.
this is the thing i got for 30$, not really rec it unless super budget
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009672124579.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.71.74421802fuhZ26
I own a Keychron K2v2 and Keychron wouldn't be my first choice
Personal preference
In fact, they're a great choice, so I'd recommend them over mainstream options.
so much good stuff on ali
what budget?
i would say a keychron v6 though
V5 QMK is $50
i have an apex pro tkl and its pretty good but damn its 200€ new lol
i got it for 100$
2 of the leds have died, the scroll wheel jumps around and the oled has burn in
yep i bought mine from a pawn shop for 50€
absolutely recommend this
defects ofc not mentioned
tkl with numpad is the way to go
i recommend changing the keycaps for either the steelseries prsmcaps or any other pudding keycap of your choice
the abs ones kinda sucked
so like 80-85%
hollywood being Hollywood once again
do you know what tkl is
What is it? A motorola?
tenkey less ik
this guy just blew my mind
i added another message onto it
tkl is without the numpad
Pixel 6 or pro or pixel 7 or pro
Separate numpad I think they mean..
LEMME GET A PIZZA WITH NOTHIN
ik i added another message onto it as i said, its like an 80-85% instead of the 75%
I was being facetious
how would that work
Its always a pixel or iphone
lemme get a tkl keyboard with a numpad
the bottom left of the numpad is right next to the right arrow
you mean 1800 compact
what am i gonna do with all that saved space?
jork
smaller than 1800 compact
could make it just fit in a backpack
no right ctrl?
move your mouse 1.5 inches more left
smaller than 1800 bigger than tkl
not possible
what a funky thing
Wtf the 80% one has it
well im sorry but it is
no it has the home del end kinda buttons
this exists btw
how
Hmmmm I've had an 80% for a while and I've done pretty fine with.
1800 has the f keys right, mine doesnt, theres no space in between the numpad and arrow keys, its compact like a tkl
its more compact than the 1800 compact
I wonder if it would also be fine going with a 65% next or so.
no f1 and such keys is 65% and such
I want to try numpad but thats just another thing for me to keep track of rn. Still set on 96%
expanded 65% is what it sounds like you have
nvm it is a 75%
wtf is that
my exact keyboard
it makes no sense
makes a ton of sense
left handed numpad FTW
why not just add the buttons that are on top as extra buttons with fn for the f1 keys
Oh shoot. Forgot about that.
and just had the extra row for dedicated f1 keys
Okay, 75% it is then.
80% is tkl'
das is 80%
thats a 1800
noooo wtf is that
?
cursed
That would be my exact keyboard. Its a full that gives me the benefits of a smaller one
opinions
confused
i really do not like the keys
its low profile
low profile boards are quite nice
So it comes with a Mac layout out of the box and gives you the keys to switch it over to windows
my bad im stupid
Oh hey, this is the kind I had been looking into... Just not with that enter key in particular.
they feel really quick
yeah
keychron is partnered with apple iirc
not me buying pudding keycaps just to disable the rgb on my keyboard
Well that's interesting to know.
thats crazy
I have my keys set to a dull red color
reminds me of many oem laptop keyboards
i dont even know if this keyboard has rgb
So I don't blow my eyes out in the dark. I live in florida and the windows here SUCK so I need to keep them covered during the hotter days and yeah there is no overhead light in this room just 2 lamps on oppisite corners of the room LOL
I don't even have a cieling fan in here let alone a ceiling mounted light
i dont think ive ever actually seen a ceiling fan before
990 pro 2tb with heatsink 115€, yea or nah
You need to look up more often when inside places. Lol.
rn i have a 1tb and 500gb ssd but i could sell them for like 80€ or something
Agreed
someone wrote gullible on the ceiling
no, grab a sn580 or mp44l 2tb for like 70-90
yeah no like ive literally never seen a ceiling fan in person before
they just arent common here i guess
And then another wrote "stupid" on the floor.
:(
sn580
Interesting.
Literally every single one of the 15ish houses my grandparents moved into had a ceiling fan lol
how do people decide what motherboard to go for? I'm doing my first build and seeing a lot of mixed reviews, most are to avoid asrock because of cpu frying
what country?
estonia
its not hot enough for that i guess
Since I live in the south all places have multiple cieling fans in the building LOL
990 pro 2tb for 115€ new from some weird reseller tho
what country?
ah, able to buy from amazon germany dude?
Slovenia
odd
if its real ofc da good stuff
yes
What CPU?
9800x3d
tho i dont think theres anything much better
If it proves anything, we have four in my house and one above the back porch.
Get the cheapest B650 that has decent vrm heatsinks and enough IO for you
I have a post already, just want some quick clarification
o yes
try messing with some of these dude, would need to conver from mains to 5v but saying that, they're fully dimmable
most of the time i see one online or in a pic or something its in a relatively hot country like spain
yup LOL
no need but like 30€ after selling my current sata ones like why not
we just dont really need them here
I just don't have one in my room which is annoying
rip io shield
i once tried modifying an old io shield to fit a newer mobo but i just ended up cutting half the metal out lol
metalworking expert
hi https
hello brownie
ceiling fans look kinda scary ngl
they unironically look like something out of final destination

hmm, the ones i would normally link are either matching that for price or not available til like november/december time
your telling me the spinning blades going like 500rpm above your head isnt scary??
nand cartel at it again i guess
I get finding another culture's norm to be foreign, but another climate's essential being out of a surreal scifi is something else.
nope
870 evo 1tb i bought for 50€ on sale is now 100€ holy
No, because they don't even go that fast.
ddr4 also went from 30€ to 40€ (2x8gb)
i think there is actually a scene in final destination or some other horror where some guy does get chopped up by a ceiling fan
Most start from 50rpm and stop at 200.
There are high speed ones that exists too, but they only go up to 380 or 400.
the worst you get from a fan blade breaking off a ceiling fan is a bruise
dang
Why does that build look so damn good from the back
it looks a lot faster in the videos ive seen
A celing fan fell on me before
The worst you could get is stand up while one is at full speed and totally get banged up.
You can fracture ur finger by sticking it in one
i imagine theyre made of something that doesnt like rip your head off tbf
Meanwhile this, this is the opposite direction of the worst that could also happen.
Like complely
While spinning high speed
I got tickled nothing bad
they're not that fast, centrifugal forces would cause it to break if it goes above a certain rpm, they're mainly slow spinners for a reason
It felt like I got punched in the stomach
anyway yeah ceiling fans are incredibly odd to me they just look kinda dangerous even though theyre probably fine
really? id imagine they spin kinda fast
bitch slapped by a fan basically
or are they just like 5 metres wide
My fan is a 6 speed transmission smart alexa support atomberg
You can pulverised ur freaking finger
nope, they're not fully balanced on the blades
oh fair
you could do that with a hammer. so?
if you properly watch a ceiling fan, most of them have a wobble to them
should I get a 2 terabyte ssd?
Most ceiling fan blades on them are rounded at the edges and the materials are usually wood. Metal ones are also fashioned in the same way where they have soft edges. The ones that might not are usually only in the industrial setting or such like a warehouse or something and those tend not only to be massive and have many blades, but also spin very slowly and have far sturdier mounting.
Sure
i dono should you?
for games or whatnot, yes
Also nowadays fans come with a safety cable and fan blade fail safes and a switch that trips when the fan wobbles too much or detaches
that's what im thinking rn
what are reasons not to
idk tbh
And they don't have enough torque to flop around if they come off
so why ask
They indeed do. There's even plenty with lengthier mounts that have something of a balljoint or such to compensate for those forces as well without shaking their mounts much.
internally, most have either a steel wire or chain that's for preventing it from fully falling and hittign the floor
because most people told me not to
who and why
That's what I meant a steelbwire
yall anyone have suggestions for 850 euro build in italy, must be from amazon
I mean... It's not wrong advice either.
ik
Mostly modded minecraft, 32gb of RAM, possibly reasonably futureproof
but this 2 terabyte ssd is only 90 euros
was just looking for quick tips
Which one exactly?
would u say that is undoable
its physicly not possible yes

whats a verbatim
im asking for a friend, i did tell them they dont really need 32gb, since the build they made was with DDR4 and AM4 but hey
"futureproof"
Word for word
yeah thats what i was tryina to tell em
would you reckon a r7 5700 and 5060 be bottlenecked
Hhhmmmmmmm....
he kinda wants it to be able to play gta VI in future so uhm if anyone has any ideas, ik its not official but eh
thats fair enough
they still look insanely odd
Anyone know anything about Verbatim drives in particular?
no
they barely fit innit
They be verbatim
They fit just fine
i suppose a 120mm case fan going like 2000rpm doesnt do much damage to you so they wouldnt
it has a bunch of good reviews
they cut fingernails nicely
ehh
They've been around for years, 50+ years iirc? Pretty good quality, especially for the price
if you look up the shaft on this, you'll find there's a ball that's grooved as a keying that holds the fan into the top cover where it's mounted to the ceiling, some even have it so that has an extra separate mount to take any extra weight/strain off the shaft
Ssd from the brand "copied"
"nicely"
ive accidentally stuck my finger into one and it didnt do anything
Ngl, I think the best way to fix that viewpoint... Would be to look at photos of a Lowe's or Home Depot, specifically in their ceiling fans departments.
Why is bro stroking ut
the chain ones tend to be better than the steel wired ones tbh
should I get it or save my money?
for a second I thought in the first picture it was Gordon Ramsey with a mixer of some sort
tightening a screw for the shaft to the fan itself
i did not think theyd use a dedicated ceiling fan box
We indian people don't need fan boxes
any reason a lights wiring wouldnt work for a ceiling fan?
I mean how much are you willing to spend on the drive?
its 90 euros for 2 terabytes
the ssd looks solid
in many places they do, but many use a basic one that screws straight into the plasterboard (more preferable if at least one side went up into som timber instead
Question, why does nvidia base their 50 series cards off 5 nm process node instead of 4nm or 3nm like n3e or n3p?
it has the same speed as my current ssd
I mean, speed-wise the Kingston NV2 should be faster
piss poor cable being used
because theyre greedy 😂
Same price iirc and would be easier warranty wise
no i actually dont have a lcue im joking
Probably, they are deterring the improvement for future generation just to make as much money as possible
so I shouldn't get this?
They wanna make the generational leap as incremental as possible
oh i dont have a clue i was joking
Anyway Vaux, here's your dose of ceiling fanness out of a Lowes. Lol.
huh they arent that big
Choice is yours
also is there really that massive of a market for ceiling fans?
some use the casing itself to act as both the mounting bracket and box for wiring
yes, a large one
i assume in countries where it actually gets over like 30c
i do think the uk will need ceiling fans soon it gets really fucking hot in the summers
nope, even in cooler climates it helps promote airflow in a room
Mmmm well, they can always be bigger, like the ones I mentioned for warehouses and such.
damn that is a fan
you're so dumb with this statement, they've been available for at least 20-30 years for uk homes
Woahhh
ive literally never seen one let alone installed one
i imagine soon we'll be needing some
best one ever
I mean, he's compared them to something out Final Destination. I could excuse it if he finds them that foreign in concept.
Myyy goodness, that must be quite the amount of weigh on them rafters.
i've helped install a couple, and have seen more than the ones i've helped with
I've done so too.
i find them foreign in concept because ive literally never seen one in person
Mainly ones that had to be installed in my room, which has happened a few times.
I saw this at an military airport and they spin so slow www
nah, solid wood, better than plasterboard, also duaal threaded screws being used
And so goddamn but
Can you recommend which you would go for? I would have gone for the B650M AORUS ELITE AX but it's not in stock as I believe it's newly launched. So it's either TUF B650M or MSI B650M and both are selling for the same price (£130).
everything be foreign to you then
i think its quite interesting ive never seen one since i used to be an electrician
Which MSI B650M exactly?
this is funny and makes me question
Well yeah, but of course you really would want to only mount it to that sort and nothing else. In houses like mine, it's more than just a bit much... And that's not counting even the amount of space it takes up too. Lol.
I want one where to buy?
I like the choice of lighting diffusement here.
it's a shame i can never have a ceiling fan in my room due to having a parrot
I just have to make sure mine's flush enough to the ceiling so it's not that low.
even then i still wouldn't be able to use it tbh, my parrot gets to free roam in my room for pretty much all the day
would love to have this one essentially @rose stream
I love my Amazon workers
Honestly get whichever one of those two looks better to you
There are basically no differences in what they offer
Forget this message which exact Asus tuff b650m is it? I just found one that is not that good
at least they aimed to hide it so it don't get stolen, unlike fedex
Nah I told them to do it
And they complied
@rose stream you ever seen the ceiling fans where the blades themself light up?
Mmm. Not quite the exact one I'd prefer, but I will say it's aesthetic is gorgeous.
Was just to test to make sure it worked it’s going with a 9959x3d
Hmmm... Well that's definitely different. I was almost expecting something to do some fiber optics in it's design or was fully LED lit with diffusion all across the blades' edges.
It’s sold out going to buy one when it’s in stock
A gamer ceiling fan for me is just a ceiling fan with no light
TUF GAMING B650M-PLUS WIFI is equipped with outstanding features, including 6-layer PCB design, DDR5, PCIe 5.0 M.2 support, Realtek 2.5Gb Ethernet, Vertical M.2 slot (Key E), rear USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C®, front USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C®, BIOS FlashBack™, DisplayPort/HDMI, USB4® (Thunderbolt™ 4) header, Addressable Gen 2 headers, Aura RGB header,...
@rigid fjord
there be wifi6/6e for ya
Creaperhead just suggested it randomly
TUF has 1x5.0 PCIe m.2 slot but both my drives are 4.0 anyway
Its probably good
it'll be a decent wifi card, and you can easily upgrade it for faster wifi tbh
I'll install it today and then have fun with it
This shit better be fuckin true
last time i bought an intel wifi card it freaked out on my amd system and only worked on my intel one
full factory reset and official drivers, guess the ax210 just didnt like my ryzen
Yeah get whichever of those 2 you prefer
just remember it's as fast as ethernet, but comes with ways to disrupt it by like distance from the router and walls being in the way
Wait I have a ryzen system
ymmv
As long as it's running 400mbps we good
intel cards are supposedly the best option, compared to mediateks and such
sample size: 1
I just built this computer and I’ve been trying to install windows to it but it always restarts during the process. This build is for my little cousin whose birthday is soon and I need help ASAP. Please and thank you
I think the TUF has the edge especially for looks and the clearance for the CPU cooler is better, is there anything I should consider or should I hit the buy button?
yeah i thought so, never heard of a ax52
thanks for the help too
Yeah for looks I agree the TUF looks better
Heatsinks clearance is not a problem on either tho
So yeah if you prefer how the TUF looks go for it
the wifi card worked after installing drivers, but right after a restart device manager didnt like it
just ended up giving it to my brother and it works fine now
really good compared to those tiny usb dongles
I bet..
Used to use one of those when I was younger, it was pretty bad
Mostly hardwire now other machine has wifi on the motherboard though
i have one of those asrock motherboards where you can add your own wifi card
I'm building in a A3 so a concern was an air cooler fitting with the GPU being in the first slot, though haven't decided if AIO is the way instead
would you go AIO or AC?
thanks again for your input, new to this and want to relieve any headaches when I go to put it all together
which i think should be the standard for non wifi motherboards
I think I had this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00762YNMG/
though finding a wifi card with the antenna wires n stuff is weird sometimes
supports ubuntu!
I think I had to fanangle drivers in when I used it. Probably fine now
ok this is also wifi 4 lol
This was like 2019
i see why some routers still advertise wifi 5 as a selling point
Pixel 10 5G
A dualtower air cooler would be enough
The AIO would basically only be for looks unless there really is a clearance problem with your case
not quite but sure
though still including 5g in 2025 is also weird
well i suppose
oof
it's the ax200 that definitely works with amd in comparison to the ax210/ax201
damn lol, live and learn
my router isnt even wifi 6e so that was stupid
Well hopefully itll be fine. 3 people recommended the thing
ax200 = wifi 6 btw
yep i bought this wifi 6 router
got a pretty good deal but uhh all my stuff is hardwired so
i dont think i need the wifi 6 speeds on my phone
tbf, the bonus of wifi cards nowadays is that it has BT built in
and i dont use the special rog "gaming" features either
I did this but specifically for VR, and partially for openwrt with the one I chose
But that came later
125hz polling rates and audio with 2 second delay for all
I thought all of those pcie wifi cards had bluetooth. Or at least vast majority.
Guess I havent really looked much
cant remember the last time i needed bluetooth on a pc
when you install it, make sure you got a usb 2.0 header free on the mobo
wsp
they usually do
I thought it was wsg
ps3/ps4 controller use on your pc 😉
isnt wsg and wsp the same?
I'll make sure
it's how the BT is done with those cards
I guess they have the same meaning but idk. Im old I guess.
Yep, makes sense
wsg = what's good
wsp= what's up
So yeah basically the same meaning
Dont see the reason in turning "whats poppin" into 3 letters
sadly never used a controller in my life (wiimote doesnt count)
tried buying one on fb marketplace but just got ghosted lol
I mean these arent pagers or t9s lol
ebay/amazon instead for sure, and 8btido 🙂
i am too tired writing everything in long form tbh
Gonna be a long life
I missed an Ender 3 for 37€ today
It sold out during checkout 🥲
tbf, t9's are stupid
Gang, i need dat asap
im gonna play like a game journalist if i ever get one
damn, that sucks, and they're stupidly easy to modyfy
cmon, dont do that to us 😭
tbf we werent writing emails or sending messages every 5 seconds on phones when T9s were a thing. Unless you had a blackberry
i literally disable predictive text on every phone i have
well, i did own a blackberry for quiet a while when i was 11 ish
Hi
I think it was a 9900 or a 9780
LG Remarq
Pretty good monitor
To be honest I was more upset I got a phone that year than a bug sanctuary thing I wanted as a kid lmao
210€, "75hz but feels like its more" ???
I know and since it was this dirt cheap I could have just spent some extra money on upgrades and not feel bad about it
I think thats a bit overpriced
i remember air traffic control selling 50 inch monitors for 200€
Motion smoothing?
only like 5 years old too
i'mma be spending around £100 on upgrading mine, part of it is extending the height it can print up to
probably, vaseline can be enjoyed by all
I have this one
isnt the best, but its running
its a dell
i can't find any larger beds for my ender 3 that what it comes with sadly
got it in a pack with my PC
because it is
i have a cheapo 240hz va, ghosts like crazy but eh 85€
let me turn my head to see the time
I miss having a curved screen tbh
That's great
The upgradability really is awesome
problem was using other screens felt very weird
85 feels good
Makes sense. Im still single monitor somehow though
10€ upgrade from my 144hz curved i said why not
When I went from a 34" curve ultrawide to a 42" flat, the difference made it feel like the flat screen was literally bending away from me. Took about a week to adjust.
Balling ass PC, I call myself an enthusiast and a linux user and I only have the one monitor like
the centre was bulging for me

a second monitor simply doesnt fit on my desk lol
it is, up to a point tbh, it also can be limiting in some ways
HyperX Armada 27" comes with an arm mount for the monitor
and has caused plenty of crashes in source games
Is using Linux in a VM fine, I dont want to boot it up separate everytime i try using
I have a windows install on another drive but I havent used it in a long time
like 150€ more than similar offerings here so yeah
150€ arm mount rather
Boot it up once in a while so whatever Im doing will "just work" but otherwise I do pretty much everything here
I mean, my dad does use my PC for his work, soo I don't want him to feel uncomfortable
So glad I dont play any games that need this.. Genuine pain
genius system, so if i want to avoid secure boot i just buy an older system without secure boot?
well atleast until october
isnt that the windows 10 eol
2 weeks before actually
ye
its really not
unless you're running old hardware
tbh i like it now
and linux stumped me the first time i used it
i probably gotta fiddle with it a lot
I mostly mean anticheats that require stuff like this especially.
startallback and all that
why so
ah
FUD, plain and simple. After 4 years i'm convinced its just the clueless who love to complain.
Hate windows 11 for that
so clean
It isnt that bad 😭
Win 11 is as bad as win 10
If at this point in 2025 you still haven't used 11 and think its horrible, there isn't much anyone can do. You're simply out of the loop and just believing headlines.
idk dont want my ssd bricked (apparently that was a hoax?)
I love complaining about the fact I feel the need to disable a ton of windows features to make the OS usable yeh.
also its still slower than windows 10 in gaming, somehow
sometimes
I don't game often, soo not a issue for me at all
35 asterisks
... more FUD, and no it was not a hoax but it also wasn't MS's fault. This is the kinda thing i'm talking about, if you only go headline deep you're (not just you) so underinformed.
