sure on older platforms by setting multipliers manually tthen leaving on auto volts, this just lowers their performance (if that) compared to setting proper EDC and TDC values

leaving pbo on "enabled" is just some default motherboard profile for those limits, along with -/+ 0 on co and 0 max boost offset

because proper wattage limits are high enough that your cpu will never hit them but it isnt requesting too much power which ends up making the am4 cpus slow themselves down somehow

just as an example, you can cut back cost by going with lower GPU - for example 5070 will be somewhat faster than 3080 you originally planned, so you could save $300 there. You might not need the full 9950x3d, maybe you will be fine with 9800x3d with half the cores, $200 saved there.

I have a i5 14500 and a 4060. I am trying to get into dc vr and need a better gpu. Right now I can get a 5070 or 9070 for around 1,100 aud and 9070 xt for 1,169 aud but I have a 650 watt power supply meaning I would have to upgrade to get the 9070 xt which would set me back 130 aud. Additionally I know the 50 series super is coming and the 5070 super with 18 gigabytes of vram would look great for dcs vr but would the 9070 still better?

Additionally when I sell my 4060 i would be on integrated graphics so would it be worth the wait for a 5070 super?

Drive locking up due firmware issue can be a thing; firmware issue being caused by normal OS command can be a thing (ie system sends TRIM command, and drive locks up - that is drive's fault, not OS).

But full power cycle and drive not visible was always clearly a drive or dying drive issue to me.

Ok I'm very lucky turns out that the screws for this io are in fact not retention screws so they do come out so this is an easy replacement the fans screws are the same
