im looking at some hard drives to buy for a nas. unfortunatly serverpartsdeals switch between not delivering or delivering at an outragous price to where i live so im looking at new drives. i just found out the 24tb barracuda consumer grade is a very compelling price. and the specs look mostly good its even CMR. but its only rated for 2400 power on hours or 100 days per year. i probably wont use it more than that but the nas will be powered on 24/7.

Does nas software like hexos shut the drives down after some time of inactivity?
