I got it used through a craigs list like website. I asked if they had a receipt and said "of course". The "receipt" was a word document from the original seller saying he ripped it out of an OEM PC. Didn't bother argueing because it was $300 in 2022 and GPU prices were still a bit stupid. The OEM doesn't have an updated VBIOS for rebar. It's from Zotac so I asked their support. They didn't know which GPU it was, but said it looked like the Twin Frozr so I could try that one, but they didn't really know. And I'm a bit sketched out with updating VBIOS randomly.

No idea, I have a 3 year old MSI motherboard. You should only need to enable Secure Boot and ensure the system is booting as UEFI, and not Legacy or CSM mode. (Unless, perhaps, AMD systems need more things?)

Edge is literally just Chromium under the hood. You can either use it, or just ignore it. WebView2 is part of Edge and one of the core components of Windows 11. well if you did mess something up and you did so little damage you can't tell, then the symptom when you power on will be a) the fan blades scrape against something and make some noise b) the fan blades spin off axis and have a super obvious wobble or c) the fans don't spin anymore

yeah that's really the biggest danger is spinning them very fast and creating voltage. some fans have a lot of play in their bearings when they are not spinning at full speed and can wobble a few degrees off axis

i know i've had some larger computer fans that the blade can completely slide off the motor if you were too rough with it and just popped it back on and it was good to go

but that one you could definitely move 5 degrees off axis right out of the box and it was fine
