what do you mean
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dr7WRV how about now for @hexed rapids build with a 2k max budget no case or SSD needed
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
networking speeds
very very noice
I need help chosing an used laptop

RIGHT on it for me, this shit min maxed to hell
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/L29J9C
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
xps 13 intel 7300u and a thinkpad t480s i5 8350u
xd this fuckn board for a 9800X3D lets fkn go
the one that can be used in 2 months without malware
well officially
wot
only 8th gen and up gets windows 11 officially
thinkpad
reliable and 4c/8t
also 2 vs 4 cores
well, I'm fine installing win 11 with an iso, don't worry about it
ffs mate, at some point MS will find a way to fully lock it out
the xps has touchscreen wich is kinda useful
anyways 2 core vs 4 core
true
my surface does too
would rather have 2 extra cores
and you know officially support for win11
fireball
its a 120w chip so this shit gonna work somehow but yeeaa
now this board is something i should use with my r5 7400f
i ment this kind of fireball
there is also this one, has an i5 1145g7, but it's 2000 brl, the other thinkpad is 1600
mo modern mo better
there are 2 maybes
maybe yes
maybe no
same amount of cores tho
gpu performance is better?
yus
260$ per month for 70 fps in black myth
GPU Specifications
GPU Name‡
Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics
just use geforce now
or you know buy a good loacl computer
you are renting a pc?
Looks good enough for a 9950x
in eco mode 100%
whats a good cpu to upgrade in the intel side? i dont want to spend money on a new mobo cuz i have a semi high end one
nah was just looking at prices
Nah the vrms are good enough to handle it full load
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8hyXQd what do yall think do note i have storage and a lian li 011 dynamic evo rgb
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070
i would imagine that board with some basic cooling around the VRMs should be able to do 100-150
why did you change the psu??
any 5600u, 5650u, 5800u, 5850u based laptops?
I found one with a ryzen 5500u
ehhhhh zen2 based
5625u, 5825u would be nice as well
ryzen is using an older architecture and vega is problematic sometimes, but idk, change my mind
one sec let me go back
yeah
huh
wat
on laptops
mines fine
looks fine
the psu is fine just expensive
cybercore for $129 is a good deal, though some 850w like the century ii would be more than enough
I'd never pick up a $180 psu for a rtx 5070 personally though
you do know that gpu is A LOT worse and has 4GB less vram
i changed the psu because theres no price available
something like a 850w super flower zillion is more than plenty
you did not notice it
i know, 5070 now
oh $799 what the fuck
what do you do that needs more then 32GB of ram
💀
9800x3d for 5070 lmfao
a ryzen 7 2700u is any good?
no
200$ AIO i would imagine worse then a 50$ one
do not go below zen2
wouldn't get anything older 4000 series for amd laptops
let me revise the list
are you even in usa
right
cuz this looks like a non usa list put on pcpp so shit prices
u cant have possibly picked this $800 5070 while staring at the other $600 5070s
I live in brazil
yes
whats a good cpu to upgrade in the intel side? i dont want to spend money on a new mobo cuz i have a semi high end one. (i have a i5 12400F)
14900ks
bro i dont have an aio
why do u want to upgrade 12400f is still good for most stuff
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rp29zP new list
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
cool its max 250w with a modern bios
so i should leave it as is right?
Then it’s either 14400 or 14600
why 200$ psu
14600k
I have an i7 14700kf with a Lian li ga 2 trinity performance and it can still peak at 80 degrees 🙏
is intel 13th&14th gen instability still a thing
I have a 14600k paired with my 5070ti, i think its great
Not from my experience
Not with the bios updates
old bios?
Newest
update bios and new cpu
contact frame?
i wanted 1000w and a higher certification or should i go lower end i only know 2 good brands
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
Sadly nope it’s either a the normal standard one or an overpriced thermal grizzly one (I don’t have any others available to buy or order)
dats a pc
wait so any 14th gen other than i9 right?
makes sense
are you in usa? 14600k is $170 rn just get that one
nope 13600k and 14600k also died
$170? goddamn
yes
I was thinking of switching to a arctic lf3 360 pro
at that point 70$ more and change your entire pc to am5 if MC is the name of the game by you
with this list should i go for a better gpu since i have the budget
AIOs are really not my thing but yea no that is one of the best ones money can buy
get a better monitor
I have a thermalright 360mm aio on my 14600k lmao
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO ATX Mid Tower
9070 xt on top
id just sleep, 80c on a cpu that on max uses 200-250w is good enough
10% or smn
o yea 80c is nothing
laws of thermodynamics is fun
i have a samsung 34" odyssey g5
Yeah but I’ve had other problems with it not even Lian li support could help me with so it’s really easier for me to replace it
OLED?
what problems
ips right?
get an oled monitor
It’s a long explanation but long story short whenever you boot the pc the pump rolls a coin whether it turns on that time or not
RMA it?
I have the same monitor but smaller with a 9070 xt 🥀
inb4 thats what lian li wasnt helping them abt
mine is 34" but u used to just use a tv
They tested it from where I bought it from and they said it’s working fine
ps5 is still expensive?
i dono shake your pc
no i have always used monitors
What for
loosen up the shit next to your pump or smn
i could never afford them before
I don’t think that’s the problem
anyhow a air cooler cant have that problem
monitors are cheaper??
I’d rather go the aesthetic way of aios than having a block in the middle of my pc
ive had the same cheap "smart" tv for about 10 years
same
well no need to worry if your pc is gonna overheat and die (well turn off but its not the best for it) every day you turn on the pc
I check that the pump turns on it’s basically gambling
If it doesn’t I just turn it off and turn it back on
ive had my aio for about 5 years and my cpu with load max temp is about 40
40c
uh that is a actual issue
okay that looks cool butttt an aio looks so much better
unless your room is like 0c something BAD BAD BAD is going on
what do you mean
the laws of thermodynamics??
But the main one here that I can simplify is the closer the temperature is to ambient/the temperature around you the harder it is to cool bellow that while the other way around the hotter something is the easier it is to cool
my room stays about 68f what ever that conversion is and thats at about 50% load on a game ill see about 40-50c
f to pay respect for having to use that
Ill take mine apart and clean/re-paste it
hmmmmmmm
also i own a 8086k well i did and it not fuckn being temp monitored GOD DAMIT
also my icue software reads different than my msi software (msi motherboard) why is that
is rx9070xt good for streaming ?
yes
it will explode and eat teh whole universe
if it works it works
😂
my screen turned into some weird repeating pattern and my mouse was still visible but was also a segment of the repeating pattern and now my gpu doesnt show up in task manager and adrenalin is saying its incompatible, did my gpu die?
also it crashed after sometime of the weird pattern
wait actually I just realized my cpu doesnt have integrated graphics so my gpu definitely still works, but I also had a game say it wasnt compatible with direct x 11
Need help my PC crashed than put me on bit locker I do it than it puts me in the recovery screen I tried everything but it won't load
anyone think there shuld be a option for a gpu between 400-500 dollars
How do i do that
open ur pc and unplug
NUTELLA
see the green thing
No my brother has a PC tho
then take the green ssd out
which psu is that, those cables don’t look good
Idk it a pre build
red connectors, mustard cables
so prbly a cheap 650 or 750w
check which model
it shouldn’t be cheaped out on a psu
do you know if you have more then one drive
it looks like a cheap b550 mobo so it prbly dont got two nvme slots
1 sec
Is someone buying am4 new again
The guy not even in this chat?
he is he said "1 sec" tho
It was someone different talking about am4 somehow
Bomb
ye cheap ah 750w
the psu is prbly fine
So my problem is psu or boot drive
?
boot drive its just a cheap psu and the psu is something that you dont want to be cheaping out on
I could have a dual socket 10 core xeon aka 20 cores total that gets beaten by like a i5
That is the issue, there is no cpu that will give a major uplift that then does not cost the price of a new platform
2028 or smn
????????
20
Also your gonna be GPU limited on a modern game unless your already at 500 fps
9800x3d
Even a R5 7600x3d would do that considering you have a R5 5500
He just bought a 5500 for 70$
return it and
75$"
320$ is not a lot by my standard but ok
A new 7800x3d is like 320
Get a good job
good, get that
Eh even the 9600x should nuke a 5500 straight to hell even a 5700x3d gets a light one
You are mostly gaming right?
Also it's a dead platform already well kinda
It's funny how well intel holds its value
I3 12100f
It has 8 "cores" well as the oc sees it
What???
It still like on par with a 5500
costs more, less available
The 7600x3d I think has non gaming performance like a r3 if there was a actual one for am5
it doesnt
Today we're comparing AMD's fastest quad core to Intel's fastest quad core. Both are probably considered obsolete in a world where 6 cores or above are the norm, but let's see which comes out on top!
0:00 Intro and Test Specs
1:29 Cinebench R23
1:38 Cyberpunk 2077
1:59 Stalker 2
2:29 Counter-Strike 2
2:53 Forza Horizon 5
3:45 Grand Theft Auto V...
8300g hehe
hey, any atx case recommendations, preferably single-layer mesh front and solid side panel, under $200 usd
8300g
the more tasteful the better
crappy desktop bersion of 7440u
the mobo and ram isnt same price tho
are companies just no longer making good high-efficiency 550W psus
cwt, hec platforms
or do you mean like titanium, ruby?
Same performance maybe even better on the 7500f while also not being on a dead platform
I love buying used tx550m
you will be missed 😔
nothing
got all the parts for my build ordered (along with some i already have and the stuff i’m getting from a friend)
looking to build next week :)
i’m so excited
Selling your am4 shit to then go am6 badaboom you got it
Am6
Has not been made for I feel like 2 years
2026 will be zen 6 and I almost feel amd will do a gap year or a refresh before am6
Is there like, something to do with PC fans you aren’t using. Other than try to sell them
Usw them?
you can buy an external fan controller and use it to cool hot foods or something
Itd make no sense for me to use them in my pc. Unless i build an entire second PC around the fans lol
$10 and shipping will net you 4 140s and 3 120s lol
if you have a solder station, you could put the fan near a window and connect it to your solder station with an aluminum duct hose or something for ventilation
personally, I use one of my fans to quickly cool rice down for making sushi
so what
speaking of hot wheels, their quality has gone down :c
Do you have that single rear as intake
And the other 2 as exhaust
You need some reverse flow fans lol
or just flip the fans
That too
try harder
it feels wack putting a 850W psu in such a mid-range pc
But you can get solid 850w for cheap
Vetroo fully modular 850w $90
they parts swapped that one
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Thermaltake Versa H16 ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
ooh wait I should use a p51 instead
Wouldn’t a 9600x pair better with like a 9070/9070xt
well a 9070 xt is like $400 more than a 9060 xt
I think there are better places to budget cut if the goal is gpu performance
Or go used gpu
there we go https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9tFtTM
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, Radeon RX 9060 XT, Thermaltake Versa H16 ARGB MicroATX Mini Tower
could try for even lower latency with a 9800x3d
no intel optane
$170 for 1tb ssd 😭
LSFG definitely runs significantly better on my Intel B760 system than it did on my AMD B550 system.
thermalright royal knight is the competitor to scythe fuma 3
Is a used EVGA 3080ti FTW3 Ultra worth it for 385 or should I get the 9060xt. Also is there any better gpus for a better price that I can get for around 500 max
385 is a very good price
its used and from Facebook market place and idk if its crypto mined or messed up
fuck yah, after 4 hours of being stupid
I finally got these 2 LoRa modules to communicate
nicely done
The issue wasnt me for the most part, it seems that PuTTy just cant read the serial output from them
385 for a 3080 ti seems like a a no-brainer to me. The only reason I might ever consider a 9060 xt over it is if power consumption is a huge concern
from techpowerup it says 3080 ti performs 30% better for whatever they're using to test, while using double the power over the 9060 xt, 350W vs 160W
I guess there's also the added bonus of the 9060 xt having 4gb more vram
can someone help me use
are the C13 cables that go from the PSU to the wall universal?
it's probably more than that
3080ti is being tested at 4k, 9060xt at 1080p
3080 is already 32% faster at 4k
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/sapphire-radeon-rx-9060-xt-pulse-oc/33.html
The Sapphire Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB sells close to MSRP, yet it features a factory overclock and higher power limit. In our testing, its cooler remained whisper-quiet even at full load. Interestingly, this model uses Samsung memory, whereas all other cards we've tested so far use Hynix.
the C13 bit is universal with all C14 connectors, what is on the other end is generally the same within a region
it can be 120v or 240v, at varying amperages
so just get a standard US C13 cable and that should work?
Cool. my power supply provided cable is doing some funky stuff so i wanna just get it replaced
wdym "funky stuff"
i hit it the wrong way and it says "time to turn pc off"
shuts the pc off
that didn't answer either of my questions
am i blind or are there no instructions
i move the cable and it makes a sound and then my computer turns off
like a small popping sound?
about that
please unplug that cable like yesterday
cable gonzo i guess
Kind of sounds like the psu not the cable
That's just an AI summary. See if the email contains actually useful information.
Images of both connectors on the cable please
oh i see now
i cant return the item for another day it seems
i thought it already processed because the ai summary came out like 8 hours after they already sent the email
K workin in the dark so hold on
dont ever rely on AI summaries
Yes
Doubt you can tell anything light in room is garbage
what
Like I didn’t hear the psu make a sound
Throw that cable away yesterday
Yeah okay got it
your power cable should never make noises
Just started today so
What it sounds like is there's damaged shielding inside the cable, allowing the inside conducors to arc when moved into a certain position
Do you want a photo of the plug on the psu?
PSU looks fine
It could be how the cable was extended and left though
It was a rats nest back there and it was just kinda laying in a bunch
Got any recommendations for a new cable? XD
literally anything that is 5-15p (your wall outlet) to c13
Doesn’t it need to be a certain amperage?
you can look for it to be rated for 12amp, but it doesn't really matter a whole lot in your case
a single computer doesn't really draw all that much power
is 4060 a good upgrade from a 1050 ti?
So I’m looking to build a NAS to hold files videos, photos, and other stuff for school and my family I’m considering building a nas using my old parts (I think ryzen 5 3600 and rtx 2060 32 gb of ram) but unfortunately the motherboard is a micro, ITX and a case is a micro ITX small form factor so I would have to buy a new case to hold the drive bays my utter option for custom route is to build the nas using a Mac mini M4 so if for any reason, I don’t like using the Nas I can use it as a computer for my mum my other option that I went to Micro Center today to look at is to get the ugreen duo bay nas i’m looking at the prices right now if I go to custom route with the old PC parts it’s around 200 if I get used parts off of eBay, but if the case is slightly bigger, I might have to get a full size ATX power supply so that’s just at a cost
So give or take if I go custom PC using my old parts it’s around $250 without any of the dives
Mac mini probably 680 with the 3d printed enclosure
And you ugreen is around $500 with the drives
Going to post this on both channels
Friend has this setup, and all the other commonly suggested cards (arc cards/9060/9060xt/5060) are more expensive then the 4060 by a decent margin
he would also get 16 gb of 3200mhz dual channel
a used 4060?
what country, since it looks like a 9060 xt 16gb is the same price as a new 4060 in the US
whereas a 9060 xt 8gb is $250
macedonia
Агрегатор за компјутерски компоненти во Македонија. Селекција на делови, цени и проверка за компатибилност при склопување на компјутери.
our pcpp version
doe it doesnt have his parts so i used pcpp
anyone know of A2 hosting and is it any good?
it seems decent looking for cheap but good hosting for a year
@grizzled frost what damage could have been done from this incident? And how may I notice it.
wow gpu market sucks there
check if you can get your hands on a used rx 6700 xt, 2080 super, or rtx 3070 for cheaper
I mean theoretically you could kill every component in your computer at once, but since your breaker is still untripped i doubt any damage was caused
basically look for performance degradation, instability, or devices not showing up
arc b580 > rtx 4060 if that's an option, but it seems like that's not possible
None of that has happened so far.
And if I get the new cable and it still does that. Then I have to get Corsair involved huh…
Yep!
Everything breaks or almost breaks right before I move….
Mhm
6700xt costs 10000mkd, i suggested it to him but he is thinking about it.
It's on an fb marketplace and he isn't knowledgeable with pcs
Sigh. Okay thanks. Let’s hope everything will work out tmmrw. I already found the cord I’m gonna get so lol
How come Linus didn't do a "lothleth thcaling" video till now
Anything wrong with putting the aio like this
why tubing on top not good
It doesn’t matter where the tubes on the aio r ?
On the block no
Ight bet Ty
i get no takers on my tech support 💀
Spend your Taylor Swift money on a second monitor
u dont even have a mousepad
We also need more pictures of the cat
this setup looks like my principles office
I have a new one on-order because my cat clawed all over it
If there's no video evidence, the cat didn't do it
I want for Apple to make a new monitor and I’ll buy it immediately as I want a triple monitor setup
I’m kinda biased to Apple..
wow decapitated macbook
Just buy monitors from apple supplier LG
I may have dropped it when the lid was fully open
average american student
I'm SO VERY VERY sorry you also have to deal with HP's LaserJet 4300 series of printers.
I think it’s good tho as I print 1500 pages each month and HP send me new ones every 3 months and I had bad experiences with Epson and Brother and have to buy ink every week even with the high yield ones
Yeah when they work, they're fine. We have a fleet of 4301fdw models at work... their firmware was extremely dodgy prior to an update in December 2024. They're relatively stable now, but like... HP was selling a printer with what amounts to BETA firmware prior to that update.
The only thing I hate is how there are random errors and have to force reset it and the frames are horrible
You can even see it in the video
oh noooooooooo HP printer
most unreliable pieces of shit on this planet
I had one that died after a year
not this specific one but still an HP one
Also, you're sort of kind doxed yourself with your certificates (shows first and last name and your highschool) and graduation photo
HP LaserJets are fine besides an inkjet. HP inkjets are the worst POS ever
I don’t even go there anymore so I think it’s fine but thank you for telling me
People can find you that way even if you don't go there anymore.
Gotta delete that
guys, im getting 77* celeius while im just broswing, have discord open and writing notes. This isn't good/normal, right?
whats ur specs
some ancient tech can have discord eating 50% of their CPU
source: my guy that was on some 4th gen intel platform
So why would a PCI card only work in this particular slot?
it's a raid card
If I plug it into PCIEX4 or PCIEX1_3 it doesn't read
wdym
can i please get some build help? i cant figure out if im supposed to remove the ssd mounts or add one
this is what it looks like underneath the heatsink
my ssd is an sn5000
The card only works when plugged into this port. When plugged into the other ports it does not work.
what card is it
well, it's a direct memory access card
ya know for "research"
But I was reading something about PCH slots and other slots that go directly to the CPU
if i have an extra £200, should i change from buying a 9070xt to a 5070ti?
or are the gains just not worth it
whats the msrp of both cards respectively and what are u looking at
like msrp vs ur buying prices
so its like more or less a £200 difference but are the gains worth it
Do u need cuda?
not sure what that is
the only other benefits of 5070Ti is better upscaling availability, MFG, RTX VSR and RTX HDR
also i found a 9070xt for msrp at 599
get whatever is closest to msrp
eh i dont think i care that much about it, just looking to ensure ill be fine for a few years
ill get the 9070xt then
then ya dont
lmaoo
am i the only one using 35 GB per hour for video streaming
completely lossless, i hate compression
hey i just wanna confirm something
so my mobo came with m.2 screws but also a heatsink
if i plugged in the m.2 screw the heatsink wouldn't screw back on
so i just removed the m.2 screw and used the heatsink screw through the ssd
is that fine?
i gave up on relying on documentation a long time ago
i could never understand that shit anyway
they all suck half of the time
or theyre incorrect entirely
ok im stupid i touched the fucking paste on the cooler
pov ur movie streaming is using 30% of an RTX 4070
hey does the orientation of a 5600x wraith stealth stock cooler matter
please don't suggest a 3070 dude, the amount of asset culling it does just to keep up performance is terribad
what do you guys think of this https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/4m27jn
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
6700xt would be ideal tbh, that or a 7700xt
you forgot to add the ram, and i'd change the ssd
oops
1: no ram
2: overpriced SSD that average users/gamers wont notice
3: If its a new build, 5070Ti over TiS
and uh remove this...
nah, just mark it as purchased for 0.00 aud
LMAO
but yeah dont buy that...
gotcha
just simply "acquire" Windows
how do i add ram
from microsoft for free
@hidden nymph any suggestions for ram
nah nah nah totally legit bro
how do i add the ram
any suggestions for ram
also if u dont have an older cpu lying around i wouldnt get this mobo
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
this one is to be ignored
alr lmao
just ensuring they dont get a mobo that doesnt have the correct bios
ive done that once.
you really don't know that b650's are already compatible with it
ur acting like ive looked up a b650 specifically already
😭
i got no clue hoe to build a pc
i feel scared buying theese parts
what if something goes wrong
💀
a pc is the adult version of lego/mechano
as long as you follow a tutorial you cant mess up
im building a pc for my brother, do i get him an rx 6600 or an rtx 3060? 1080p gaming btw
99% of the info you need is in the manual @spare finch
unless ur me and dont understand manuals
get a used 6600xt or 6700xt tbh
i am safe!!
always consult the manual for your front panel header for sure
my brother insists on brand new gpu's welp
btw i have a budget of 3500 AUD
then a 7600 or 7700xt or 9060xt if you go amd
Ok thanks
welp ur good now that youve removed purchasing windows from the equation
yeah
a 6600 let alone a 3060 won't ever be new in this day or age
hes not rlly going to be 4k gaming or 1440p gaming
whats the budget
b580 may be able to squeeze in
its not a crazy powerful gpu but the vram will help it overtake the 3060/6600
so is this good now????? https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/zm7Th7
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
na its alr settled
no ram?
i think he'll go for the rx 7600
i'll buy that separately
no because of the ssd and no ram, also that 5070 is worser than a 4070ti super
youve made it worse than the list rauko gave you
doesn't matter, both a 4070ti or 4070ti super are better than a 5070 @spare finch
No
Ngl y'all need to learn how to save up money
@abstract wigeon this good???????https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/fpFG4p
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
basically the same performance
between the 5070ti and 9070xt i just tell people to get whatever is cheaper
which is better though
?
they are near identical
neither is 'better' in any way thats worth more money
@abstract wigeon is this good now??? https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/fpFG4p
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
Good news for the unemployed
yeah looks good
perfect
Theoretically In an alternate universe we could have GPUs that have vram slots?
we had that over 20 years ago
If not add then swap the vram modules
What was the name
also sound cards with it
ati rage
Imagine buying any GPU and just being able to give it more vram as you wish
single stick, you just replace it with a higher capacity
I mean we can change vram right now also
Except that they make it hard or impossible to do
there was these with sockets the ram could be pulled out from also
Like of they would just provide the tools to do it properly you could just go to a service shop
Actually nvm I remembered that soldering the chips is quite hard
Very precise
a soundcard where ram = cache
Dammnnn
This would add significant latency I would assume if used in modern GPUs
Ignore the fact that we have huge ass coolers
very much so
Latency isn't the problem. It's more so bandwidth
Yeah so we would need to stick to the small modules we have now, but would it be possible to make that modular
just insert ram
Would it be like small cpu slots like we have in motherboards
There's a reason GPUs use higher latency and higher bandwidth GDDR and HBM memories
No, it would be soldered down or even on an interposer for maximum speed
It looks quite far away, on modern cards the chips are in a square and quite close to the main processing unit (correct me if I'm wrong)
an even older gpu that used ram as cache @wheat torrent
I would assume having a ram stick in the corner would add noticeable latency, bandwidth aside
Those looks so unique
and finally another one where you can just add ram
Yes they're closer because that way you get better signaling. However if you were to put ram slots on a GPU you wouldn't get anywhere close to the same bandwidth
GPUs don't care so much about latency because they can keep enough jobs in flight to hide it
Well I'm not talking about traditional ram slots per say, just modular vram
You would very likely not be able to get the same density and/or performance as GPUs these days
Some even have it on an interposer
You think so?
Yes
I don't remember but do modern GPUs have vram on both side or only one side?
Some have both
sodimm's could be used but there would be latency and bandwidth issues tbh
and technically, gpu's use qdr not ddr
Sodimms aren't nearly dense enough and the interface is bad for signal integrity
What about keeping them soldered as right now except making it easier to replace would that be possible
tell that to the ddr5 ones
There's a reason ddr5 sodimms cap out lower than soldered ddr5 and desktop dimms
the main thing is, for gpu's, dispite the clock speed the ram has it has a much higher bandwith than what ddr of the same gen has
That's because it uses a larger bus size
So small yet so much electricity passes through them, for this one everything is so compact I can't see any space to make it modular
Why did they make the 5000 PCB so small, any reason?
Just so they can use 2 blow through fans?
I think that's the wrong name
hey can someone help me it’s my first build
What if each vram module would go in like you put the CPUs
But with some smaller equivalent
Density would be a concern
wouldn't work so well
There do exist sockets for bga chips and I wouldn't recommend using them. They're not great
They require extremely high compressive force to work and the ones I've used usually took a few attempts to get seated correctly
Look how much bigger the older generation GPUs are
Size issue?
bga vs lga
Size, signal integrity
Actually nvm its same size I didn't notice
how do i find where the power thingie is?
like the place where i put a screw driver to turn it on
power thingie....?
Motherboard manual
reballing these are a bitch btw
Like having a modular option for consumer
Closest to reality probably would be having it less of a hassle for someone who has the skills to do it
What would that get you?
btw
On top of that you have to fight the software I recall
any wires i need to make sure dont get caught somewhere
cus im just on a test bench, havent put the mobo in so far
vbios
I think even if you do it right there are limitations or something that stops you
Yeah vbios
Why whenever I’m streaming on discord this happens? Does anybody know why?
But It was possible on 3000 I think
It doesn't happen the whole time either, and when this does happen my ram and everything of my pc is doing fine how do I fix this?
okay so
rauko but it's a short question tho
here's what the manual says but i still dont know which ones to touch with my screwdriver\
they have a signature bit of code, if it don't match correctly, the vbios might not be accepted
Maybe the one labeled power switch...?
it clearly states it there, power switch
Buy now: 2080ti22g.com
Today, I'm going to modify a 2080 Ti graphics card. It's a blower-style 2080 Ti. I want to upgrade it to 22GB and also replace the stock cooling solution with a triple-fan cooler. The method for upgrading the VRAM is widely available online. It's not technically challenging and there are plenty of videos that demonstrate ...
yea but
This is the one I watched
Why are you not giving the same response to others tho :(*
do i need to touch 6 and 8 together? im sorry ive never done this before
Yes
because they're not after something that's a tech support question
I don't think any service center in my country would agree to do this job
On a more modern GPU
Only touch 6 and 8 and only touch it briefly for the pc to turn in
so i have this 5-year old ROG STRIX laptop that just fixed because of possibly motherboard issue.
should i continue using it or just sell?
they're not, it's usually always a custom job by someone who's into EE
I mean if you just fixed it, is there any reason to get rid of it?
i did it for about a sec and nothing happened
Didn't China have like a bunch of 4000 series with upgraded vram that you could buy a while ago?
time for #1027757333117415424
Am I remembering that right
Make sure everything is plugged in and the psu switch turned on. If plugged into a power strip make sure that is also turned on
yea the power strip is turned on
and i did a bios flash before
Is the power supply switch turned on as well
Also until now I still don't understand why China has dragon GPUs but we don't
gpu, atx 24 and cpu
Sent picture
@winged sky@thorn escarp take it to #1027757333117415424
Why?
This should be a quick fix
because the message won't be interupted, and it's the smart thing
my brother said "too old to operate in this day and age"
How old is it....???
Wait
Cpu: 13900k 160
Mobo: Z790 Tuf wifi 60
Gpu: Galax 4070S 220
Storage: 2TB 970 EVO 0
PSU: MSI 1000w gold 80
Ram:??
Cooler:??
Case:??
My build so far. Hopefully I can keep it under 750.
just passed 5 years old
5 years old, bruh thats more than fine
all of these are secondhand parts right?
Also hilarious because I see 15 year old computers running just fine
20 old GPUs are borderline e-waste today
I have a hard time imagining 5090s GPUs being ewaste in 20 years
Yeah. Except the Psu. That's new.
I found a 2tb nvme in the mobo I got today 😭
Isn't that the fake Samsung ssds
in a bottom slot
It is not
970 evo plus, old but no not fake
I was checking the mobo and I was like why is there chips there? Lol
I did not see the Samsung logo, there are some SSDs in my country that are like the same sticker except it doesn't say its Samsung
Its 1090 or something
that is a fake one made to look like a samsung model
Also these somewhat cheap 13W/mk Amazon thermal pads are great. It dropped my mem temp by 16C on a 4070S vs the owl tree 6W/mk one
1080/1090 on a red writing and black label, both fake models @wheat torrent
that's what i told to my brother
but maybe he's concerned of my usage
on weekend i can play like morning to morning, and all this time, i never unplug the power cord
and always running turbo mode
The only thing id be worried about is you cooking your battery by never unplugging it
Found the image
as i said
literally knock off's to fool people into thinking it's a samsung drive
not similar, it's the exact same format for a samsung label
Yeah Its messed up
you've missed out on the fake WD sata ssd's from over a year ago
I would also be extremely surprised if it's anywhere in the same order of magnitude as 4tb
Its weird that ssd just have a flimsy sticker on top
I'd guess 64go or less
wd vs fakes to make you think they're wd drives
Lmao
One of my buddies fell for that couple weeks ago.
Relatively small light weight tech
So scammers have fun with them
But to be honest there are such products for everything
Not only small tech
Ahhh the good ol 1gb usb drive stuffed in a generic 2.5inch ssd shell
you missed out on the "2tb" usb thumb drives that are barely 2gb in actual capacity
Ouch..
Hope he didnt lose too much money on that
being observant enough to note the differences, saves you a headache
Love me some 999999999 lumen flashlight on top of that
that i want to ask as well
is gaming laptop by design, can stay plugged?
I love how it has the same UK dispatch thing 3 times to try and really sell it
the fact it states it's from london there, screams scam
The only issue with gaming laptops is usually the batteries dont last that long under gaming loads anyway, and when people leave them on the charger because of that it just roasts the hell out of the batteries
I need to buy a motherboard this week
This is the third computer of mine but I'm still not going to build it myself
After my other motherboard died I am paranoid to build a PC
But its fun
I'll just pay 10 dollars at a service shop and they will do it better than me
I mean that's still good
I tried following every rule but the motherboard just fried itself somehow
I consider myself tech savvy but it still died and I ain't touching it no more
Guys I have a question. Is there a feature like console sharing for PCs like if I have my main Microsoft acc and my friend gives me his acc with gamepass and like I get to play bo6 using on my main
actually, more modern ones only charge up to 80% most of the time to prevent damaging the battery
Dayum only 10 bucks?
Or no
Yeah it's cheap
And it's not some corporate type service center
Its just 2 dudes, very good service
Yeaaa but those batteries still get tired fairly quickly
I offered to tip them but they refused
Bring em some beers, I'm sure they'll appreciate it
batteries have a "memory" so yeah, over time the chargabilty changes over time
I have Razer nari headphones and the dongle is known to get fucked by the voltage regulator or whatever, a simple fix is to short that, but it's very small and I didn't have the required tools
My old msi gaming laptop with a 1060 3gb only lasted like 2-3 hours max while gaming even from the beginning lol
I paid like 5 dollars and they did it, even 3d printed a new housing for the dongle
I just gave them a reddit post showcasing how to do it
razer and poor quality is their average
Idk how they managed to do this
There are posts and posts and posts of the same issue I was having
they have a keylogger as official software, and a hardware based rootkit called a mouse
literally nothing decent from razer
I got the headphones for 7 dollars so i can't complain
if it has wifi on the mobo, it's wise to do so
But I don't like Razer also
okioki
Make sure you put them on after you put it all in the case. Ive seen people not do that and get pissed at it for not fitting right XD
what's worse, is that they copy logitech designs and just make it in shittier quality
ofc! hah
Which is incredible cause Logitech keyboards suck ass. Ive had nothing but issues from Logitech gaming keyboards
I want a Bluetooth mice, I think I will go with Logitech, but pulsar caught my eye also
Their office ones are fine though, which is hilarious cause those are usually only like 10-15 bucks
lol the one my motherboard came with broke after many removals. Not the two separate antennas but the pop up kind.
Ended up stealing one from a system I built for someone.
They still have yet to notice the system is missing it.
If they do just call it payment XD
lol
damn close to 2am and here I am about to do some quick part swapping on my system.
Am I the only one who spent more on peripherals than their computer
idk how much of a difference it would make to the deepcool cooler but swapping out the stock fan it came with to the Noctua A12x25 I have unopened.
Lol
can i place my mobo which is on my mobo box on a bed
it wont cause static or anything right?
im gonna ready up the case
If it stays on the box it will he fine
oki
Hmm brown and beige
hey so
how do i ready up the case?
put the io shield and make sure all the mounts are in the right place?
is that it

Remove side panels, don't forget io shield and that's it
Pretty much. Id install the psu and route the cables where they need to be as well cause some cases make it a pain in the ass to do after the motherboard is installed
gotcha
the back cables seem to be the most hectic part
because at least with the mobo i had an idea of something
here i dont know what anything does
Cable management is the hardest part of computer building. Or well, the most annoying at least
Put the motherboard in the case without screwing anything down, take a picture of it in there, use that picture to make sure the cables go to the right places without the motherboard being in there
also i have like 3 pre installed fans so yeh
Cpu power cable that one is really annoying once the motherboard and cooler are.
gotcha
the little things on the io shield
Depends on the case still, some are incredibly tight
when i push em down, they need to be at 90 degrees right?
The prongs that poke out of it?
ya
yes that too haven't had a case that made it easy yet so that cable is first connected then I feed it through the back lol.
the things i was the most afraid of: bios flash and cpu installation were a breeze
Don't bend them unless they go inside a port or get in the way
gotcha
Indeed. Cpu power cable is always the first one I run
so i shouldnt bend the hdmi ones at all?
since i will never use that port on the mobo
cus no igpu
Bonus bloody sacrifice to the pc gods if you have an air cooler already mounted while trying to do it.
Unless it gets stuck in the port you should be fine
huh i cant really get the io shield installed
is it supposed to latch onto the little things
Ya gotta push like you're giving birth from the inside
Along the edges
@torpid axle for airflow does it get better than this? Excluding no case scenarios. I assume just bigger holes but at that point you get too much dust?
oki
Holy mesh batman
What case is that???
Meshroom s
not really any better, and yup it can mean more dust
I could buy one of those building prototype cases without walls
and just cover it in mesh...
Buy a sheet of mesh and bend it...
they're not the best though, just some of the most expensive ones
their sound profile can be matched or beaten with cheaper fans tbh
most annoying, never the hardest
It is when you're working in a friend's crappy case with next to no space for anything wider than a sata cable
What would be the downsides of getting this and covering it with metal mesh
Would grounding be a problem
can i just remove the tray for my hdd?
I mean mesh without any filtering is still gonna get dusty
i'll never install an hdd or a sata ssd
You say that until the day ya need more storage
i have 3 tbs of ext storage
basilisk line of mice are a lower quality clones of the g502's
I just realized there is no where to put "case fans"
broo intel is literally on its last legs this is so sad to watch
one laptop which will have no games so i can offload all my data to it
so an itx build then
and a home pc with another terabyte
Eeeeehhhhhhhh external storage is ok and all but can be prone it getting knocked about if you aren't careful
They sat on their asses for too long unfortunately
they literally havent even made an good attempt into the APU market
they literally have no good APUs
not when compared to AMD
Which is hilarious cause up till ryzen 7000 most of their desktop chips simply didnt even have an igpu
hey what partition scheme should i use mbr or gpt
yeah but then when AMD dropped that iGPU into it, it is insanely good.
always gpt unless it's a system from before 2010
and all this is fine right
Oh yea they were cooking some good stuff there
Yup
i wont have to open the cmd and whatnot
my AMD Radeon 9 8945HS has a fucking 780M inside of it and IT COOKS.
aight ty!
i remember using mbr when i installed fedora i think
it holds it own bro
if you are one of those people who tend to develop an emotional attachment to a large corporation that doesnt give a fuck about you
im not lol
its sad bc there wont be much in the way of competition
which is a bad thing for everyone.
no matter who you are
ya that I agree
so a 7840/8840 under another name tbh
Breh, the issue with it is if Intel goes away, AMD will just become the new Intel and sit on their asses
dont thing that sad is the right word tho
yeh ik
its sad when AMD realizes theyre the only one making chips and will charge whatever they want
is there any good video editing app for ubuntu, that require no or low manual configuration?
Its sad that amd will sit on their asses XD
so yes it is sad...
i can use wtv word i want to describe it, and ur wallet will be feeling sad too
what screws do i need for my psu?
there's like a fuck ton of them in the pouch my case came with
the ones that came with the psu
oops
there's also the ones marked 6/32th
wait there's 2 pouches with the psu
one of them is screws and the other is a do not eat desiccant
whats the latter
common sense says what you choose, if you don't have it, then there's no helping you
Dessicant absorbs moisture
now now, we might see natural selection in action
😑
Nah it won't actually harm you unless you eat a ton of it.
you never know with some people
so nice of msi to offer some crunchy snacks
How do you know
Because ive read up on it? There's also a good few vids about people who have eaten them
MUSIC by @jakechudnow
That is not even it
That is candy
i may have fucked up one of the psu screws
it just keeps rotating
should i replace it with the 5th one?
or just let it be?
Back it out and make sure its actually lined up. You'd feel it resist quite a bit before it strips
surveillance drones just floating around
it wont come out either, my psu is in place, surely there's no problem if one screw isnt all the way in right?
its not like it's a cooler or heatsink
what do you guys think of this https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/zm7Th7
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
Should be fine till you have to pull the psu out again
still a no
100$ CPU cooler for a 80w cpu XD
Wtf
aussie dollary doo's
