I've used aomei to clone my OS drive before and it worked fine, it's more the 2nd part that is tricky. back then I was cloning from a conventional sata ssd to an nvme, so I later just plugged the sata drive back in via an external usb adapter and wiped it. right now I'm planning to clone from an nvme to another nvme, idk if usb adapters exist for those but I don't have one so idk how to best wipe it afterwards
