I used to play FF7 Rebirth on my RTX 2080 at 4k (Well... not really since I would play with DLSS enabled). I should try that on the 9070 XT to see what the difference is like. The way I do it is by manually exchanging the SDP (in the photo they are the offer and answer codes) to get the info they need to establish the connection

I remember AMD having really unstable drivers back in the day. When I had my Radeon HD 4870, that was one of my reasons for switching to Nvidia (GTX 680) when I did upgrade from that. From what I have heard though that reputation is kinda reversed these days and Nvidia now has the more unstable drivers lol

This isn't to do with file sharing but I did once look into p2p network programming when I was looking at creating multiplayer games. Since a lot of older multiplayer games rely on p2p networking. It seemed really over my head though, networking is surprisingly complex.

I bought one of the more powerful overclocked models, the AORUS Radeon RX 9070 XT ELITE. From what I have heard there isn't a massive difference between the stock and OC models though, I mostly wanted it for the big cooler since I assumed it would be quiet (and it is, thankfully)

yeah this was like 20 years ago, there were libraries for it back then but nowhere near as robust as we would get now. I also had an attitude back then like "I should try and program/understand everything" which isn't productive lol

thankfully I grew out of that eventually... although I still do like to dabble with writing game console emulators as a hobby for my low level fix.

This system is cool but there is some things I have to figure out, there is no actual bandwidth limit from WebRTC itself but if you send too much too fast the clients can get overwhelmed

I think that looks nicer than mine honestly, but since Gigabyte served me well with my GTX 680 and RTX 2080 I went for them out of habit.

I think the most hellish thing I tried with low level programming was when I decided it would be a good idea to write my own operating system...

I did get a very simple kernel working where it would print whatever you typed onto the screen, then I gave up lol.

Sounds similar to me yeah, it seems like a good idea when you first think of it, but then you realise just how complex a (real) OS is lol, still I did learn a lot from it, from writing the bootloader, and then how to draw characters to the screen, and handle CPU interrupts from the keyboard etc
