it was one of those big Gigabyte brackets

I just bought a different one that fits under the GPU though

I did also buy a 3D printed plastic thing to fit a 120mm fan into the 3 unused CD/DVD drive slots in my case lol

Part of the problem is because its a huge full tower case, the cables aren't long enough to route behind the back of the motherboard tray

but they have horrible horrible bios support, they would like release a board for zen 2 and then never give it bios update. so the board only can use up to like zen 2 and a lot of bug and issues. overclocking also doesn't really work cuz bios suck

The PC seems to run fine in this case anyway. I have a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Radeon RX 9070 XT and it runs just fine. Doesn't get hot enough to cause concern.

However, if you're playing games that would see a massive performance jump from an X3d cache, it muddies that up a bit. I can tell you personally though, I already get 240 fps using dlaa and mfg x4 on a 5070Ti - if your monitor doesn't go over 240hz anyways, I think that cache may not be as useful

Given the games you play it does certainly look like the 7800X3D combo would do better (personally I'd also put the AM5 platform over Intel but that's just me), but with a 1 star review and a very obvious gpu sag on that build I'd be a little worried

You can easily just upgrade your gpu when the time comes anyways, but generally you can expect the AM5 platform to be more reliable than Intel since AMD doesn't commonly shoot themselves in the foot

Your choices are pretty much between better gpu and subpar gaming cpu, and a still good gpu and top end gaming cpu that might be more likely to get damaged in shipping
