finding ram below 2133 for ddr4 is like trying to find 3200 ddr3, rare as fuck
Cheapest rams (atleast here in Czech) are mostly 2133 (or just jedec speed),
the one timing thats diff (lower) is tcwl, which was set to auto 💀
Got coffee
i have to do some more tweaking to figure out 3800 cl16 as a stable OC
Depends on how many sticks you want it to run
i have 4x 8gb ballistix running at 3600 cl16 from it's original 3200 cl16
logitech formula force EX pc
Meanwhile i struggle to have stable 3440mhz 🥲 on all 4 sticks
Logitech formula force GP, not EX
shit
micron rev.e's are easy to oc, and do have a fair bit of leeway
their exactly the same tbf
Nope
pretty sure the EX is just newer with a belt stabiliser
I have only 4 buttons, +paddle shifter, nothing more, and 2 pedals ofc
this is it running stable
Checked my pc bios and it says secure boot is enabled but im still getting this
😭😭😭😭
crashed a few times under this
That app lets you see them Ohms?? Dayum, and i overclock only via bios
Do you have 2 sticks for those speeds or its 1 stick?
all 4 sticks
zentimings is more for amd only, though hwinfo will show most of this also
this is what it looks like on hwinfo mainly
Gonna install that app, now my pc would have OCCT, other stuff, and that app 😅
use rufus to make your bottable usb, you can bypass everything there (secure boot, online account requirement, tpm)
Rauko, would you mind to help me on friday, or saturday, to overclock the RAM? if my CPU would allow more tho
tbf, there are better people than me at it in #overclocking
I tried there to ask for help with that, noone answered, plus you got similar pc, like the mobo (same chipset, other brand), and CPU (X version and i have G version)
tbh, you'd treat the 5600g as an r5 3600/3600x cpu wise
there's a fairly big difference in performance between a 5600g and 5600x
Thats true, due to the fact the X doesnt have iGPU and having better stats
RAM overclocking is very hard and time intensive, it varies even from CPU to CPU pretty drastically
With W10 reaching end of life and my refusal to use W11, can i just get an anti-virus software for W10 for a few years and call it good?
😬 well, im willing to sacrifice my day to tune it up a bit
it's usually a multi day process
You dont even need the anti-virus, if you dont download cheats/hacks for games, or cracked games
tbf a 5600g is equal to an r5 3600 with a gt1030 tacked on as the igpu
I still dont trust stuff
nope, you can still end up infected/fucked up
Do you know any good video tutorials you can recommend me?
I managed to tune it up kinda in 2 days, while having it stable (ofc the very basic, as cpu speed, and ram frequency, ram voltage) + pbo enabled (set to motherboard)
So linux?
also, the definitions all other antiviruses get is the same ones windows defender gets
pretty much
:(
Anyone know why my laptop sets the freseh rate to 70 hz when i enable g sync even tho its a 165 hz panel?
Linux, Windows 11, or buy a Mac.
you could easily manually tune pbo, the basics would be what's in this image
Windows settings - display - do that there
I dont like w11, dont wanna get a new pc and dont wanna deal with linux yet
Its set at 165
Add 200?? I think i only have like 100-120 written there, not sure tho
So it should be 165hz then
What if i set thermal limit to 65°C 😅 seems like my PC cant go over 54 honestly
you could but if it's not liking it over 54c then you may have an issue with your cooler
i'm thinking of building a new computer, do i need it though?
that's the main thing i'm really thinking about
Its more like i have fans fitted like 3 in front, then 240mm aio, and behind the aio i have the same fans (2) as on front, and exhaust is pretty much as seen on the picture (lian-li 120mm fan, and on top there is exhaust 140mm)
it still does everything fine, it's just that most of my friends would already switch their computer after like 2 years 😭
and i've kept this same one for 4 years and just upgraded it
it still does everything fine, it's just that those friends keep telling me to upgrade
Should be alright to keep your current pc if it handles everything you need perfectly without any issue (low fps)
it handles everything perfectly, just worried for the future and hardware requirements
like way too many games need overpowered specs nowadays
could just be because of denuvo on some of those games lmao
Thats true, but for ultra-quality gaming while having high fps
what aio exactly ?
my monitor is only 1080p 75hz, i don't need really good specs for that
Mind to look at my profile? There is everything abt my pc 😅
is asus dual rtx 4060 evo good for its price range
Yes (very true)
Id take MSI, as its among the top of the 4060 gpu's
hmm, you have a reasonably decent aio then, it should be easily able to hanle the cpu being pushed to 80c+ when under load tbh
hey guys, my microcenter has some 9070 xt's in stock for $699. I would need to save up for around 3 more weeks if I wanna buy it instead of the 7700 xt, do you think I should take the gamble and wait?
i'd soooner pick an rx6700xt, 6750xt,7700xt tbh
Yep, and with my fan speed and all, it doesnt go over 54-55°C, which should be alright while having high temp headroom for overclock
We like gamble
while a 7700xt is a great dgpu for those who want to do a reasonable build, 9070xt is alot more higher performing, mind you, with a 7700xt you can get away without having tho change a psu if you're running 650-750w, a 9070xt i'd want to use a good decent 850w psu with it
ive got a decent 750w but I will power limit the cpu if it gets in the way, if the gpu is still too thirtsy I will downclock it too
me running with a tier A psu tbf
will that cause too much of a hassle?
Whats tier A? 😭 I know 80+, never saw someone use tier A PSU
because I already cable managed and I am NOT interested in replacing this one anytime soon lol
cybernetics I think
@dense pond while under a little bit of load currently
the 80+ efficiency rating means nothing when it comes to psu quality tbh, but the tiering for psu's is due to 2 different lists, originally the cultist psu list and now spl's psu list
Package 48w 😭😭 when i do OCCT it jumps on CPU testing over 100w 😭😭
Ohhh
also i can easily push my cpu way past the pbo limit i have currently set if i wanted
Definitely its not due to PBO set to motherboard 👀
i've got mine set to 97w i believe
I got 1000W if i remember correctly
i don't just test my system with occt, i use cinebench and a few other programs also
rm850x 2024 model is what i have
Basically what thw CPU can handle, without limiting it
occt is garbage for gpu stability test, all it's good for is maybe vram load (when it comes to gpu testing)
pointless, your cpu if it was tuned a little better, 88-95w is all it will draw
I find it quite usefull to use OCCT, for testing stability and for max power my pc can do (CPU)
more for ram and cpu testing stability wise
114w or 117w most i saw, while gaming its around 50-70w usually
really bad take, and that's bait for others
ragebait
spot on
Clearly just my personal experience.
Its 70 tho, i checked it on that refresh rate websote
ragebait #2
80+ [word], withour the [word] its just bait and it mind be bad quality, not even 80% efficiency
if your psu has higher 80+ certification there is a good chance it's okay, other times it can be a bomb or ripple monster
there are very few acceptable 80+ white psus because those are usually group regulated and not decent gr psus
hey pc does black screen with loading cursor on start up after second boot
any idea what issue might be
I feel like a hardware store with any reputation worth mentioning wouldn't sell a bad PSU.
ragebait ultra mega troll 3000 #3
even if it's higher it can be fake or a bomb still
FX-8350, HD7970, and HD7870 x2. We gonna large language our model with this one 🔥
yo for streaming and gaming together with a 5700x3d which graphic would be the best ?
5090
no amd graphic?
i have a 13900kf and last year it tanked, learned about the whole 13/14th gen issues and i got it replaced via RMA by intel. process was smooth but in the last few weeks i been getting some random blue screens and awkward/slow performance in some spaces.
i'm concerned that the updated bios i had gotten last september might not have been enough and i might now have another damaged cpu.
last year i did test every piece of hardware possible against a good working system(i couldn't test teh cpu vs mobo until i got the replacement cpu). Everything had been working flawless until the last month.
So far i've done the basics in software side of sfc/dism settings/drivers etc.
done memtest, cpu testing(tho, cpu never properly failed a test last year either) and default cmos + altering various settings suggested online(currently back on default)
my next step will be os reload to see if maybe the os is the culprit.
anyone know of anyone have their replacement intel cpu go bad too?
Maybe the world outside of Sweden just is trully a dark place after all
stop ragebaitin omg 😭
#1027757333117415424 also maybe
5090 is better than the xtx and 9070xt in 99.9% applications, but yeah the 9070xt does not experience that many melted cables
it also doesn't turn into an expensive paperweight via updates either
not knowing where else to go after the testing ive done, i went to userbenchmark to see what my system is actually performing like vs others and i got back this for results.
granted, idk how reliable of a source this is, but i'd be down to try elsewhere too if anyone has recomendations.
13th% sounds insane for the overall ranking.
i'm using stock settings without overclocking but at worst i would imagine like 80%+?
idk.
Am going to chiba🙏
Id rather go for sightly lower FPS while not bothering for flame inside my pc
yeah, i might go there next. i just wanted to see if anyone knew about the 13/14s having issues after return and also about userbenchmark as a viable test for comparison.
undervoltin
Doing something and not plugging the cable all the way in 👀
its a breath of fresh air from austin
Today is my lucky day I think, I just found $80 in my pocket
For vacation or?
Time to buy fans for my case
Could sm1 help me out in DMs
as this looks like it's from userbenchmark, it's full of bullshit
Ask here
you do realise, they sell p14 maxes as a 5 pack?
I recommend Arctic p12 pwm pst, as i use them and so far they are very very good (basically every Arctic P fan is very good)
yes, couldnt find any in stock
But this is like 104$
And it's american prices, no?
So probably not even taxx included yet for some reason?
How will 80$ cover all that?!?
the maxes are even better tbh, though they lack the power sharing
her grandparents are there so we went there together
well obviously im not gonna pay all of it with the $80 🤣
I need high volume fans for cheap, anyone know any good ones?
The 80$ is what covers some of the actuall price, like a 80$ discount
Like, I need hella airflow, noise isnt an issue
userbenchmark is not viable for anything
do you know of a way to get a comparable benchmark? this system is the first one ive had consistent on/off issues with. every other pc ive had over the last 25 years has consistently worked or if something went wrong it was a replace and good to go. this one has been great for 6 months and the last month its been acting up
I need really good airflow for this next build, because Ill be OC'ing a lot
My RAM is hitting 60C rn when stress testing
I was kinda skeptical abt the MAX version, as my main concern was dB (thus going for 24dB fans, the Lian-li is set to be silent by ear 😅)
Ah, well to me noise isnt an issue
proper reviews from sites like techspot, techpowerup, gamersnexus, there's also using proper benchmarking software
The build will be in the basement in a corner
Water is the solution for the temps being low👀👀
Ive got a system for using the resources in each room already, dont worry about that
Cant have water, too much risk
Will have 20 drives
if size isn’t an issue, literally just a big ass case
while the maxes, max out at around 3000rpm, they're whisper silent up til around 2200-2500 rpm tbh
fractal torrent
yeah, looking for the software name tho.
reviews on everything im running are good except the now known issues with the potential for 13/14th gen to get murdered
wait 20 drives
yes
cinebench, occt, benchmate
4 from board, 16 from HBA
ok. ty. i'll look into those
Its gonna be a mixed use server, Gaming VMs, Storage (mainly for a surveillance system)
If you're interested in the specs https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Lm3KRV
Part List - Intel Core i9-13900KF, GeForce RTX 4090, Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 ATX Full Tower
Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 should be able to unofficially fit 20 drives
They are on those speeds? Dayum, thats good to hear, i have my p12 set to 1800rpm and they are quite silent (had to tinker the lian-li bcs it vibrates 😭 i even had 2nd lian li, the same just white and its sooo bad with vibration)
Are the case fan speeds based on cpu or gpu?
Depends what you want to cool more, if the CPU gets hot faster than GPU, you mind want to base it off of CPU and vice versa
Tbh I wouldnt care if they were full speed all the time
But how much does that mess with the life expectancy
Iceberg Thermal IceGALE Xtra does 169CFM, a 2 pack is $20
Not much tbh, its usually (correct me if im wrong, again) based of running on 70-80% of speed, so around 15-26% less life expectation, but faster the bearing would wear out, or you just swap them out before they reach that life
my p12's are also tuned, though i also run p14's
if you have the same amount of intake as exhaust fans, there shouldnt be any pressure differences right?
i keep the temps around this area usually @dense pond
same fans, same size
I literally only care about airflow for the RAM but having it good for the entire case should be fine, I need these dimms to run 6000MT/s
if the fans are all at the same speed then it's basically neutral airflow in the case
Yes, ok, thats what I thought
Ill also put a fan on the GPU to blow up towards the RAM
Minimum 34 🥲 i reach 26 if i let it sit for 1h on idle without any app running
you want it going like this in the case but with the fans tuned in a way it'll give positive airflow
yah thats what I thought
It will be the 140mm setup like on their page
- 1 more on the GPU
i'm always having something run, if i turn't off most of the stuff, i'd be around 28c idle
ill have to ziptie or something
Does an air cooler for the CPU help with in case airflow compared to liquid?
cuz fans
You want more positive pressure (more intake fans then exhaust, like 3 intake, 1-2 exhaust, all same speed or exhaust slower)
why?
yes but also no
Dust probably, as it wont sit on the stuff inside the pc case
at 169CFM dust will have time to sit?
not really, as a thermal mass, an aio is better at sending heat out of the case more efficiently compared to an air cooler
Ok, just wondering, it has to be air because Im worried about liquid in the case with 20 drives
Yes, it always have time to sit, so the positive pressure help to prevent it for happening too Fast
yes, it's not just about the airflow, it's also about where turbulance can happen, for example how airflow will be when it goes over the gpu in the case
if you’re going to not put aio there don’t put exhaust there
so the top right should be intake so theres slight positive pressure?
Top front fan directed as intake helps RAM temps
no fan at all
you don’t need to out anything there
I need RAM airflow
not on the top it wouldn't tbh,
get an aircooler to blow air down on the ram tbf
im thinking of putting one on top of the GPU and pushing air towards the RAM
you literally have an extra fan on your aio just take it off and rest it on your gpu backplate pointing at the ram
is the 1080 ti still good for medium end games nowadays?
intake then if you’re not going to put dedicated fan on top of the ram, just not exhaust because it doesn’t help or can actually slightly hurt temps
For now, but I plan on upgrading the case soon and im worrying about that now
This mind be good for RAM temps, but also on top you lack the air filter
@dense pond mount a dedicated fan on the ram if doing heavier ram oc instead
Ill have to see if I have a mounting point for it. I know I can ziptie a fan to the top of the GPU
top is always exhaust, never an intake
no need
This set up helped me from having ram on 50-70°C to go aeound 30-50°C tbh
not always, it can hurt temps with some cases, usually does not affect anything it’s useless there, intake would be more advisable
basicly the air there isn’t hot in the first place
so exhaust may steal cooler air
Try different fan orientations and see what suits your needs the best imo
you don’t want more negative pressure where hot components aren’t outputting heat
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DPQ7XPV7/ this exists @frigid blade
Why is it RGB
Who doesnt like RGB (you dont need to hook up the RGB cable)
I don’t like it
fuck rgb
run it without the argb being connected in
So no need to plug the rgb cable in its slot, so it wont light up the lights
ew rgb blades
i’ve tried it with my 4000d, the top most front fan does not really help with any temps, and with a jonsbo d20 where there’s also psu possibly taking air it actually hurt cpu temps
Use single color, not this rgb vomit tbh

Depends on size of the case and where the RAM is located, in my case it helped, as the fan is just on top of the RAM (midi-ATX case, ATX mobo)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CY5MZ5HY there's also this style
How do some same sized fans and same RPM move more air than others
Yah I was looking at this
the scoop of the blades
you shouldn’t have issues with ram temps, so if you can slap that fan on the ram with some brackets you can buy or diy it yourself, it would be better for ram cooling
science even
there's a difference in airflow fan blade designs from those of static pressure blade designs @frigid blade
Heck, even how air moves/behaves
For a 20m distance between my gaming PC and an LG B4 TV, am I better using some sort of fibre HDMI cable for native gaming (better picture and easier surround sound setup) or ethernet client and server and use Moonlight from my Steam Deck docked? I use an Xbox controller via BT.
Only downside is my GPU only has one HDMI port but I could get a DP to HDMI adapter for my current 1080p office TV. Though I plan to upgrade it to 4K HDR next year.
i should’ve bought ph2.0 adapters instead of just xh2.54 big regret because a lot of fsp psus use them :c
I have temp issues because im OCing 4 dimms
Doesnt look that bad as the rainbow vomit
the 2 in the middle are running hot af
dedicated fan
get up to 62C sometimes
Im getting errors during the stress tests because of the temps and I cant push them higher
that and the shitty mobo
A/C unit maybee? Or some fans from around the house to test if that would help (temporarily)
nothing rn, we just moved its empty
Dayum, well, test in night, its colder 👀
I was testing all night because of that
im not for rgb vomit just to make that clear
better to be hot than cold
I have the window open 24/7 because theyre constantly running hot during tests
Im not into the RGB vomit also, i use static single color
i use no rgb
sounds like you should reinstall your ram and cpu
Did that both
cmos reset?
Haven't tried that. Lemme try that
Seems like RGB party
based
Bro is rich 😭 i have it RGB bcs 1. It looks cool 2. It was cheaper
rgb = distraction
Tbh, non-rgb parts are more expensive than rgb
I can just pull the battery for cmos clear right?
literally wrong
I cant wait to show the build once I finish it
You can set them to static 1 color, or even turn them off, have them only sightly lit up, etc.
either bridge two pins or press down a pin to release the cmos battery
Here they are 😭😭
it's still a distraction to me lol
Its gonna be really cool, mini PC in each room streaming ultra low latency Gaming VMs
You wont even notice the latency in inputs
Bcs you have rainbow vomit! (Atleast what you sent here) Thats not how its supposed to be
Thats how CMOS reset is done, yes
or short the jumper if it has one
i found shorting is easier and faster
Yeah it does have 2 pins to short but I just pulled the battery and put back. Same thing.
Is my board DOA 😭
Safer to do the old pulling out, rather than accidentally killing his pc (if he uses wrong jumpers)
its pretty hard to short the wrong ones when the PC is off and without power
i've never sent anything
you don’t have to pull out the battery usually tho, most boards have a clip that will release the battery
Then somebody else with similar color of pfp did
youre talking about the cat pfp
Yeah the clip worked for me.
polarr
Here 👀 im blind tbh
put it on a table for 2+ mins and then put it back
yes, though if you can get a spare reset switch, connect that on to the clr cmos header instead and use that as a remote way to colear the cmos
50% of my NVMe storage just in RAM for 1k$ 😭😭
you also get 80 cores and a cool raid card
there's also a header for it, where you could fit a spare reset button on it instead
im not a fan of the 6148 but its OK
80 cores?? Thats why the 20 core x4 is there for?
Yes, it has 4 sockets
and it still loses to an epyc
💀 i should go dig myself a grave
Okay I pulled the battery, I'll wait a few minutes, thanks so far guys.
dude, they cost $50 each
The epycs cost in the thousands
192c on a single cpu
Bcs they are newer, faster, thus that price
Right, you cant compare a 6148 to any epycs
you’re supposted to unplug the pc before resetting cmos
that's what manuals are for
the RAM itself costs $380 for 8x64gb
Someone might not be fully into PC's to understand that, saw that personaly as my brother wanted to work on his pc (unplugging GPU while all cables were in, pc just set to sleep 😭)
Tell that to someone who doesnt even know what motherboard is 💀 the manual wont help tbh
And its on them for breaking something
Yep, fully aware of it happening, had to stop him or else RIP hours of work to get it back to run
(older pc with 5th gen Intel i5)
Anyway, good night y'all
which ones
all except power for the PSU
trash then
why?
not good yeah
you can find other units with all cables included for a similar pric e
Idk if I should get the G2 or G+
getting most of the cables replaced for that psu’s pin out is going to set you quite few tens of bucks
G2 is better than G+
less budget
wat
less power
bro
you can overdraw it if you need more than 1300w but thats literally the dumbest thing ive ever read
But is it enough for future CPU and GPU upgrades
Same thing. Those 5 flashes. Do I call gigabyte and have them ship me a new board?
I want that Nova Lake CPU
yes bro its enough
52 cores, yummy
with 20 drives?
😭 you can have a 5090 and 14900k both max tuned and still be under 1300w
yes bro with 20 drives
even when they spin up?
?? why would i say yes if i actually meant no
because ur like that
it’s 1300w…
what if I remove my 4090 power limit with vbios mods or whatever
...
good luck with cooling it first
😐
i think i made the cat mad
then u need a different kind of psu
hehehe
@azure topaz someone said not to invest this much into LGA1700
What do you think, worth it for the RAM tune?
I cant really do anything else, the core ultra socket is dead already
so no point in buying that
I hope the Nova Lake socket gets used more than 2 generations
does your motherboard have allowance for 40 drives?
With 2 HBAs? Yah
I made sure I had 2 extra x4 mode lanes
Well, 1 was supposed to be for a NIC, but this board has 10Gb
It kinda just carried over from the previous requirement
I could also do 5 NVMe SSDs but then PCIe slot 1 will run in x8
Which is still enough for my 4090, I think it has less than or a percent performance impact
let me look it up rlly quick, this is why I wanted a high budget PSU that was way higher than youd think Id need
So that it had an upgrade path and can handle a lot of drives
you can always buy another and run two psus
5W idle, 10W max, random read/write 6W
@plush wren wt
400w, that’s 850w for your 4090 and cpu of choice + 50w rest
so 400w, yes youll have enough power
40 drives in 1 rig is nas activities
yipee
I mean, it basically will be
sooo...
I need at least like 10 of those drives for a surveillance system
if you don’t oc your 4090 above 450w and cpu above 400w you’re fine
the rest for shenanigans, I cant afford them all at once, I will buy over time
just run more than one computer dude 😭
Naur, will cost more
a broadwell server is 80$
well i dont want more computers
I eated
@azure topaz why go broadwell when you can go 1366
I kinda wanna host gaming VMs for people, and they can pay to rent
without looking, broadwell is 5:th gen right?
No, it was a joke, kinda
nice
Ill already be doing it for my gf when she goes to uni
they got gigabit internet there so she can just connect to my VM and play games
Since shes got a poopy GPU
so… buy the 1300w with cables
Yah I said I will no?
Er, maybe I didn’t but I added it to my cart
Thanks Floober
anybody know anything abt the 9800x3D and the clock speed?
it’s called firefox
it was running really high last night after my first time doing it but if i set it to 85 degrees will it stay there
Set what
you’re intentionally downclocking?
why
Oh max temp?
9800x3d is rated 95c 24/7 by amd and you have a warranty for that
@azure topaz hear me out
What a shit price
what
?
ah yes shit price for few of kind product
can i get that in freedoms?
For what it is, it’s bad price
that many cad equals to about 68 pennies
why not just buy an R830?
no, it is normal price
probably cheaper than that board
Its a server board
The board itself is $1k CAD for quad socket?
@frigid blade find a cheaper server board like that
You can buy the r940 board and PEM for $600 USD
ok, bit more, but still, https://www.ebay.com/itm/256874011355, whole server
Im talking cad
I found a 4070TI for 500$, I dont know how it compares to the 9070xt but I am pretty unsure about this one since its used and I would be indirectly supporting NVIDIA...
The r940 board has the first 2 CPUs and the PEM has the other 2
yes, im aware, $1,173USD > $1257CAD, thats what i said
too hot
how hot
$1622 CAD, to be exactl, but again, rest of the fucking server
Still, $1k for a quad socket board?
$900*
Take a look at this https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GrtD_TLXDmQMNDNAPJoeXBGeoXeq1ciubJYyG4p_0zc/edit?usp=sharing
I made it a week ago
oh, i guess it would me more correct to buy an R930, rather than R830
that board is for for E7s, not E5s\
Mainboard is $340, PEM $300, the connector for them is like $15
$700 (USD), rest of server, albeit no RAM/CPU
https://www.ebay.com/itm/286257871010
That board that he sent is really expensive for what it is providing
and the R930 is the same E7 4800/8800 v3/v4 CPUs
also consider aliexpress offrers 10-15% discounts
rest of the fucking server
yes
the photo shows the price after discount
with that said, why quad socket?
I cant believe they added 5+ is 3% discount 🤣
Just saw this. That’s cool.
that’s fake discount ignore
Hopefully T-Mobile begins to deploy it soon
focus on aliexpress and store coupons, coins
i have over a 1gbps on mine in france since 3 years
that $10 from $15 is not real for example
thats uplink, not downlink
thats also using sub-6ghz bands, which reach further
This is probably the max download I can get from T-Mobile here
Upload though I think my max is 142 Mbps
What is the difference
from phone to tower, not from tower to phone
Download upload then
Why do you use use uplink
To upload stuff?
because thats what t-mobile said?
and also its measuring just the link (or, say, uplink) to the tower, not the whole chain
Increasing upload speed is definitely harder to achieve than download speed when it comes to cellular networks.
Upload speed is also a bit more affected by distance. So when you go farther away from a tower the first thing that’s going to decrease more is upload speed.
hi
Last Christmas I gave you my heart
I clicked it
the video playing?
No is it high res?
ahh good, troll videos
It didn’t work on mobile
dam
Is this the variable sized video thing?
I love ryzen 💪 🔥
Where it bounces around
yh
sorta, it just gets smaller
yh
Ah
the bullzoder 8000??
hell yeah bro, this thing is AMAZING if you're looking for a room heater. but remember, the CPU degrades above 60C
I'm using it rn (for the memes)
i don’t think it degrades at that temp but it throttles
yes, they’re much more heat sensitive but i don’t recall they degrade above 60c, i’d be worried at like 80c or more
bro my computer has nothing on it
I forgot the OS bricked last night
i installed windows 11 iot enterprise ltsc
because its less bloated
you should grab a quad G34 system for that
just like me under pressure
damn actually it seems like the FX-8350 defaults to a 45W TDP in this motherboard...?
Think I can run win11 on a 2nd gen i7 system.
It's got 8gb of ddr3
I'm guessing it can prob run win 10 but maybe win 11
can someone help me fix my pc
lets go
I can not boot into bios with dual ram please help i posted in support
I asked Chatgpt to replace my old gpu with either the Sapphire Nitro+ 9070 XT and the Sapphire Pure 9070 XT and this is what I got 💀
🥶🥶🥶
For reference, this is the original image
Soooo, which one looks better 😭
Ignore the Nitro+ one there
Just imagine this is over there

it considered sag 😂
AYO 😭😭
the second pic’s fan blades look really nicely constructed, which model is it?
I like how those Sapphire Radeon 9070 XT's look, I went for a Gigabyte one though since my last 3 graphics cards were from them and they seem reliable to me.
Sapphire Pure 9070 XT
i meant version of chatgreedbeetee
Oh like what AI I used to generate it?
yes
I was gonna go for a gigabyte but the White + black theme of the Sapphire pure just made me lock onto that
Chatgpt 💀
version
Lemme check
GPT-4o
If my case had a side window, I probably would have gone for one of those as well. I can't see the inside of my PC while the case is shut though so the way that the Gigabyte one looked wasn't a problem in the end. I went for the Aorus Elite 9070 XT.
hmm didn’t know it could construct fan blades so well (for an ai)
Ooo niceee, I really wanted the Aorus one but no stock here 😭
I was just hoping for a white and black piece of brick that looked identical
I was slightly concerned since this is an OC model with high power usage compared to some of the others, but it seems to be fine. Its stable and quiet anyway
I may build one of these
Heard that the Aorus had some issues when you installed gigabytes software
I haven't even bothered installing that, I can't see the RGB lights on the graphics card anyhow due to my lack of a side window in the case lol. Never felt the need to configure it.
I just installed the AMD driver/software and called it a day.
Ah I see
But rn, I'm really torn between the Sapphire pure and the Sapphire nitro
Dunno which one to get
Nitro has a few concerning points like the connector, reduced cooling capacity than the standard old pulse and the price being $100USD over the Pure
If one of them has the normal PCIE power connectors instead of the single larger connector, I would go for that one personally.
i have a 4070 super when do you think ill need to upgrade
I was thinking that if I spend a bit more on the gpu right now, it'll hopefully last me longer in the long run
Pure has it, a 2x8 pin connector
I would probably get that one then if I was choosing between them. Mine has 3x 8 pin connectors and I prefer that over the single larger connector
yeah ai is too stoopid for that
I'll need to do a lot of bending for the cable of 12VHPWR in my pc case just because of how sapphire decided to put the connector on the back of the gpu
Whenever it starts struggling with a game that you want to play. I only upgraded from a 2080 a few weeks ago.
Although the Sapphire nitro comes with an adapter (3x8 pin to 12-2x6pin)
thats fair
did you upgrade Cpu/ram/mobo and GPU or just GPU
My upgrade will be bigger, currently using a 2060 super 💀
Yeah I don't tend to pre-emptively upgrade my GPU. I just upgrade when I start having to lower my settings too much to keep things playable.
came from intel HD 😭
Same
I did change the CPU/RAM/Mobo as well. I went from a Core i7 8700, 32GB RAM, RTX 2080 to Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 64GB RAM, Radeon 9070 XT
dGPU and iGPU are like night and day
Frrrr
Yeah thats kinda what im scared for cause im on a 13700K but i know im gonna have to jump to amd 😭
I doubt your CPU would bottleneck a graphics card (meaningfully I mean) for awhile at least. Its nowhere near as old as my old one was. Might become a problem in 2 or 3 years perhaps
Probably longer
hopefully it wont burn itself alive first
Does your 4070 use a 12v connector
Uhhh the just one cord one right
Ye
yeah it does
The ominous looking one
its a founders edition
Faced any problems with installation?
Oooo nice
nope it was all good
Ohh
probably shouldve bought cable extensions it looks like crap but it works
Im using the one that came with my PSU that like clicks when its all the way in so you dont cook your GPU
That's the reason why I want the Sapphire pure
But after looking at this
holy sh that thing is gorgeous
Maybe the white doesn't really to well with black
It isn't ik 😭
yeah just buy extensions they're like nothing
nono i meant the card I googled it
Yeah it's sick
Yeah have a custom design in mind
whyd you pick 9070 over 9070 XT
yeeeeeeee displaying that "PURE" like a real gamer move
lol one thing did make me laugh, When I was shopping for my 9070 XT, I saw some kawaii/waifu ones with pictures of anime girls on them.
its amd theres so many
I mean, enough people must be buying them if they are making them...
That's supposed to be the XT version but AI is too dumb for this
Well my prompt was bad
oh shoot thats AI
Yeston 💀
i high key didnt even notice
speaking of how much did yours run you
Check the AIO block 💀💀
Yep, those ones. I did find it quite funny although I wouldn't buy one
hahaha no branding 😭
I could never get one of those
It's a grey block of nothing 😭
But how does the build look with a white gpu
It looks alright
it looks kinda out of place but if you get some like white extensions and other white parts
nzxt c8 reminds me of that Veritasium video
It was around £640 if I remember right, not an awful price
This is my current gpu
Which one 💀
thats not bad almost MSRP
Yeah. slightly higher than MSRP but not much
newest
The first part is easy, the other one will be expensive
got my 4070 Super founders for $600 (freedom dollars)
Haven't watched it yet sadly

If you’re looking for a mo...
yeah high key id say just go for it
Im boutta buy it for $900
performance matters most you can work other stuff out later
i was gonna tweak but that isnt bad
Oh yeah was gonna watch this but had exams at the time
That's horrible tbh
$150+ over MSRP
But no other choice in my area
wait what
Powercolor at 1050 😭
holy sh fr?
Power color isn't even in stock in my region
Yup
those are supposed to be the cheap ones 😭
I could go for the 5070ti but I really don't want Nvidia this time
Ainnoway bruhhhh 💀
yeah im scared for whenever I have to upgrade
A 4070 super here is around $750 to $1300
wheres here
USD
I have heard its quite rough on the Nvidia side at the moment.
Bangladeshi
Driver instability for the most part.
Worse than rough
Maybe Nvidia are using AI to write their drivers, lol.
Wouldn't put it past them...
I've also heard that but my 4070S is doing fine
4090 performance for $549 type of rough
me either atp
with dlss4 on* aah
I have heard its mostly just the newer cards that are havint peoblems. I think drivers for the older cards are quite stable.
And still manages to suffer*
My 2080 seems to be running just fine at the moment, I gave it to my mum after buying the 9070 XT.
my pc like crashed the other day but idk if that was a GPU issue
what does your mom need a 2080 for 😭
That's nice, at least it isn't there inside a drawer or smth
She likes strategy games, currently stuff like Tempest Rising
still feels like 20fps*
8gb vram*
but yeah strictly speaking she doesn't really NEED a 2080, but its better than it being unused gathering dust somewhere.
ok good i was gonna cry if it was like "chrome browsing"
no yeah fs
GTA 4
the m-series macs make me so happy
But guys, for a split second, how do you think the Sapphire Nitro+ would look instead of this
high key a lot better
Among Us UE5 edition
but honestly get whichever one is cheaper 😭
Yeahhh but
we in the trenches we cant be bothered with how it looks
yesss totally makes sense
I mean, the machine she had before was a 2014 Mac Mini, so my old i7 8700 + RTX 2080 is an insane upgrade over that for her
IDEK ANYMORE, gotta make a decision by today, might get the gpu tomorrow
I'd take the old Mac mini if it's free 💀
dang leagues better
homelab 🙏
I have no idea what I am going to do with it yet, but if I decide to get rid of it I'll keep that in mind ^^
It'll be better than some laptops these days 😭
I live on the other side of the world so you don't really need to keep it in mind 💀
yes fr 😭
haha, I doubt I will get rid of it anyway
I like collecting and playing with old machines.
If I do get the cheaper card aka the Sapphire pure, I can easily afford a new monitor
I wish i could
no brainer
But if I were to get the nitro+, things might get a bit harder
where do you get them from 👀
Will the 2x8pins cause a problem
I dont think it would just make sure your PSU can handle it
A mix of places. Some of them are my old machines that I used back when they were new, some I bought from ebay, I think this specific Mac Mini, my workplace gave it to me because it would have been scrapped otherwise.
Yeah recently got the Nzxt one so it'll hopefully be fine
Speaking of my psu, it has really bad coil whine and idk what to do
yeah just check the wattage and make sure you have the right cables and it shouldnt matter
Even when the pc is turned off
Will do 🫡
yeah i see people shitting on nzxt way too often despite their nzxt gold series being really decent for the price they drop at times
I really wanna get into homelabbing but I high key dont wanna drop money on a machine (even if its less than $100 im poor)
I do also have an old 2012 Mac Mini lying around, which I actually bought myself back when it was new. I had to develop an iOS app for a University assignment, and I could never find a mac to use for long enough to do useful development in the university library.
im sorry
2012 i5 Mac mini was the cheapest (new) mac that money could buy at the time I think, ha
The only problem I've had with it is the coil whine and the quality of the connectors but other than that, it's low-key a steal
dont forget the developer subscription
I didn't have to actually publish the app to the store, so thankfully I didn't have to pay that
Oh wow
coil whine is not exactly nzxt’s issue, it can vary unit to unit and how much load
Yeah but this is the first time a psu has had coil whine even when the pc is turned off for me
This was actually back in 2012... it was the latest mac mini at the time. Sadly back then you simply needed a mac to make iOS apps
oh thats fair my condolences for lack of open source software 😦
I only learned one thing from that module to be honest... I hate Objective C and Swift, although I hate Objective C more than Swift lol
Guys I need some advice
And the other part about the quality of the connectors, it feels like Nzxt spent all their budget on the packaging and forgot about the connectors
speaking straight facts
what language you dev in
For my job I mostly work with PHP, but I also know C++ pretty well for personal projects. I like developing game console emulators as a hobby
Also can someone check the Asus XG27ACG out?
that sucks, and as for the shitty connectors i assume they’re stiff, the plastic at the connectors feels like lego and the pins inside are not exactly perfectly aligned?
as a HOBBY 😭 😭
Don't see any reviews on it online
Yup, exactly right
PHP im so sorry for your loss
lol, I just wanted to learn how my childhood game consoles worked internally, specifically the Sega Master System and Mega Drive/Genesis. Its pretty cool to see my old favourite games running inside my own program.
that actually sounds awesome ngl-any of them open source or just hobby stuff
I need some help 🙏
with what
I had forcefully close the back panel with all my strength because the cables just wouldn't want to stay in their places
That's not very informative
Yeah, I didn’t wanna put an essay in the chat
I did open source my Master System emulator although I would be doxxing myself if I posted it here, my MD/Genesis emulator isn't open sourced yet though because its pretty early in development still
Then how are people supposed to help
I think I enjoy using C++ more than PHP, although PHP isn't dreadful.. it has improved a lot since the PHP 5.x days
Yeah I have a PHP book then I proceeded to learn Go instead 😛
My computer only works outside the case I assumed it’s shorting (which is why I put it outside it) but even when it’s outside the case it will not boot
take it all apart then try again
I have been thinking of getting into game development for fun, I used to make games a really long time ago in Dark Basic and Game Maker. I am tempted to try out Godot.
I have three times
Make your own engine you probably could
I did make a couple of simple games for fun in C++ with SFML as well, but nothing big
use unreal you already know C++ lol
For a hobby I think I'd rather use an open source engine, which is why I was thinking of Godot
I haven't used C# in like 15+ years but I have used it before and remember mostly what to expect. The last time I was using it, I played with XNA game development.
You could also just use GDScript
I love C#
I remember liking the C# language itself, but XNA had some pretty nasty limitations which is why I stopped using it
not a fault of the language itself.
Good point about GDScript... my mind immediately went to using C# since its a "real"/well used programming language
but if GDScript is powerful enough, might be fine using that.
I'll have a look at it first rather than jumping right to C#.
i dont know much about godot but from what im aware its kinda like lua and the godot api is like built in
idk about performance vs C# though or if it matters much
good idea
I think you can use C++ in Godot as well, I saw it on the website amusingly
Apparently its not really recommended though because it adds some complexity.
You can use a lot of things cause its open source
well its C++
Amusingly, when I open sourced my Master System emulator, I did actually get a bug report. Somebody actually tried using it ha.
It was having graphics rendering issues in Phantasy Star. There was a bug in the CPU emulation which was causing it. I actually did fix it too.
what graphics api did you use
I used SFML. I know its not quite as commonly used as SDL but its what I know
SFML is a library which wraps to OpenGL (For graphics)
Yeah ive messed with that a little before
Ew
yes i used it a little in C#
ngl I like the old school C feel
Strand mounted small cells. Interesting
I don’t see those in my city lol
I see this in my city but nothing more fancy
i like c# too
I am much more comfortable with object oriented languages since its just what I am used to, but I have played with C a bit and I can see the appeal. C is extremely fast and portable, even compared to C++
I know a lot of C programmers complain about C++ being bloated and too complex.
Which I can kinda agree with....
I like C++ but they're not wrong, it has a massive complex spec.
c++ is way too much for my brain
I have no idea how I managed to get used to it to be honest. Now I am pretty good/fluent with it but I do remember running into the typical struggles with memory management etc when I first started.
big respect
I have never tried using it but I have heard that people are pushing Rust as a replacement for C++ now.
I'll try it out one day but I haven't had the time to yet.
yeah rust is a bit overhyped currently so…
That has crossed my mind, some of the biggest pushers of it do seem very cult-like lol.
I haven't really been in a rush to try it out since I am quite comfortable with C++, but it seems to be common now to hate on C++ and push Rust as much as possible.
it has it’s advantages and disadvantages over other language ofc
I have heard that it has much nicer/automatic memory management
Seems to be the main reason people like it.
Yeah thats exactly what I was saying but ngl im not smart enough to use DMA and stuff
which is why i use go
its blazingly fast guys
here we go 😂
i say that as someone who never has used rust
I remember trying to learn Go a few years ago, I applied for a job and the main language they used was Go, and I didn't know it. (Application said as long as the applicant has programming experience and are willing to learn, go for it...)
The syntax was very strange compared to C++, but it seemed decent
Although, I wonder if Go programmers aren't common or something
since they didn't say I needed to know Go, it was more "If you have experience in other languages and are willing to learn Go, you're welcome to apply"
i think it’s amongst the top 10 most popular and paid programming languages
oh, interesting
yeah idk if they are either i havent seen or met very many (i retract this statement)
Well, I suppose it makes sense to open the job up to anybody who has programming experience and is willing to learn
I guess anybody with years of programming experience should be able to learn/adapt to different languages easily.
Go is really easy to learn ngl I taught myself in like a couple hours
Yeah I remember the experience was similar for me
once I got over the weird syntax, I ported my C++ Chip-8 emulator to it after a couple of days
Haven't used it since then though because I didn't get the job haha
haha thats fair 😭
I remember when I was in university they made me learn a language called Haskell.
That was a very strange and annoyingly strict language. I have never used it again since leaving university either.
I think the teacher/lecturer was just a big fan of functional programming.
think im gunna sell my gpu and just game with a cheaper gpu
Turning the light on and off is basically 1’s and 0’s
That’s a very simple explanation of it though
Not only do we turn it off and on. We also modulate how bright the light is. We also change how quickly it turns on/off
looks like it has been dropped as well
what did you do to it before it blew up
uhh and what exactly happened
any funny modding?
Nope
Turned on the pc
whar happen
I turned on the pc, heard a noise, and then smelled the funny smoke
Was that before or after you lit the funny cigarette?
That literally just happened
open the card
i need help i cant boot with 2 ran https://discord.com/channels/375436620578684930/1376348583237914796
maybe the card is still salvegable if you have soldering skills and no high voltage was sent to the core or memory
When i opened up the system… i plugged in back in, and powered it on, and saw a spark come out of that spot
Remove one and boot . Make sure PC is oof before removing one stuck.
@steel umbra
classic radeon
oh cmon after the black smoke? 💀
what
yeah… that would require some a lot of pcb repair
rip
ewaste now
Nah, too much work for a $12.50 cad gpu
If your PC will not boot with two sticks of ram remove one. Get it stable in the Bios . Then reinsert the other. If it still fails to boot you likely have a bad stick of ram.
i have all info in the post. both stick are fine
honestly if you paid that much you can sell it for parts
You bought a gpu for 13 dollars?
just list the issue because nobody wants to buy a damaged pcb, dead core and mem
you can probably sell it as broken for 20$
Probably
it depends on how ethical you are
fan spins but no post
no need to list all of the details of what happened to the card!
paint over the exposed pcb
nah, tell them it came like that from the factory
“i dropped it”
my fans geeking out again
Your sign to get be quiet fans
that would reduce potential buyers, the best way to say this: some accidental pressure to a spot of the card was applied due to a gravitational pull
And if they refuse you tell them "gravitational pull of your mom"
they look like nzxt
definitely real
Hmmm true
They say card in the name
Can't hurt to try honestly you have buyer safety warranties on this right
1e-50
i would agree if they allow you to test it in your pc ideally before mone
or come testin the card in person
why
how bad is this current fan setup? theres a 120mm on the bottom also sucking in air
Something needs to pull out......
so like this?
Cuz 4k isnt worth it
Yes or out the back
theres no fans out the back 💀
goofy ahh sff layout moment 💔
Ok
yes
it needs high perf for that so it doesnt have to do it again later
if ur pc is loud thats ur fan curve's problem
Mine does usually.
I think its because it puts a lot of strain on the CPU
"See, if i poke the cable right through the radio antenna, while most of the picks end is sticking out, the antennas metal is touching thr co-axial cables metal"
I actually tested this
it fucking works
i can walk all around the original antenna, and theres NO STATIC ANYMORE
..?
Yes
Mine gets quite loud with a 3 fan GPU and a nhd15
what's the best cpu for a 4070 ti super
Ryzen 9 9950X3D
am5 for upgradability
that's too overkill
you asked what the best cpu was, and that’s it
Can anyone answer a few questions i have about building an retro gaming pc. (TLDR; i tried, didnt work, gave up, i want to try and understand why)
when it starts beeping loud
when it stops working- nvm, about a decade ago in your case
Uh
average life expectancy is like 5 years
Well it doesn't do much, just keeps my light strip powered
That's the battery life, not the actual unit
not uncommon for them to push past that, but 22 years is just downright impressive
if the battery dies, it ain’t a UPS anymore
just a power supply
Until you replace the battery
Which I've done 4 times now
that's fine
Strangest brand too
then i reiterate my “when it stops working” answer
I have one that's been in service for about 13 years now
It's this thing, but the OG one like I have the power button is gray
Just replaced batteries in 3 today
so i found this Pentium dual core Dell pc at the local dump... 4gb ram, im trying to turn it to a retro gaming pc. i just cant get windows 98 to install on it. i assume it had to do with it being too new (too much ram that i know for sure) but now it is also struggling installing windows xp.
so my question is, what would prevent from windows 98 (besides ram, and 2gb drive limit, i know that much) or windows XP to be installed on that system?
Ah yes a day after I submit a warranty claim for the dead ring doorbell
Imagine ring scamming me like that
My account was made in 2018 too so like what
I find 98 to be too much of a hassle
sing myok so I just shoved a frayed radio antenna into the coaxial jack
Before:
13 Channels
With the FM/AM Antenna:
WE HAVE 33 CHANNELS
UNIFI FTW
