as long as you don’t cut heatpipes that’s fine
Also this is probably going to just hold common files for my brother & his coworkers' git/commit and stuff
So not much high power usage
then your 4570 would do fine
Verstanden
does that mean understood i’m regarded
I might just try another comapnies visualizer app
Your?
Sir it's even worse, 4460 </3
same shit different refresh
Mhm, don't worry you're disregarded
Is that the x99 stuff
yes
Anyway yeah I think I'll just stick to 8400 & 16-32GB
alternatively called c612 for servers
which is literally the same cjopset
Would it make a difference between HDD / SSD on this during server use
you can even still overclock on c612
Ofcourse the boot is going to be an NVMe if possible
Why
nau
you’ll probably need a card
Card?
How benchmark
like a pcie x4 to nvme 4x
Ooh
benchmark?
Or just sata… thats plenty for git
stuff from pre 6th gen is almost guaranteed not to have nvme
Well, 8th gen and up have PCIe x4 slots
other then that motherboard that was now updated to do so
oh my fault this is for the 8th disregard
I don't want to use pre 6th except for doohickey machines tbh
Is it possible to do that without ja king eith other operating systems? Benchmark hypervisor
nah you can do it on anything as long as it’s got usb boot
I am not turning my 4460 into a server
That thing deserves to rest
I KNOW but not on that one motherboard
which?
ehhhhh
it was on tech quicky
i was surprised to find out my precision supports pcie boot
forgor what it was but i think it was a 4th gen one or was it even older
i don’t even need to use the USB chip
although my haswell mini pc has nvme slots
o it was tech linked
although it doesn’t support nvme boot you can do the usb trick with it(i literally did that)
i think this is for if you don’t want to do the USB method
i think they updated it to support pcie booting
ofc
i was talking with the method
@azure topaz
Sooo
Mp33l TLC 256GB NVMe + WD 1TB HDD?
I can't really find MLC, and SLC would be too expensive
no
tlc is optimal
It's a git/commit server
MLC and SLC for anything consumer is dumb
ah ah i keep getting mixed up i’m sorry
For my own personal machine I am running a Lexar 1TB drive
slay
Don't be, I get it :3
Well not RIGHT now, right now I am currently running nothing lmao
Disassembled the PSU, so the 240GB SATA & 2009 Dell HDD are just sitting there
:3’ing rn
That damm 7200 spinner is older than me
The second I can I am moving everything on it on a new spinner
@kindred halo heres the hdd in my imac
Yummy
WD brand drive
crazy to me that mac can kinda feel okay on a hdd
Holy shit it's 2006
i have a 1tb hdd from 2008 in perfect health
That's 5 years older than me Jesus H. Christ </3
(cause it was hardly used)
This re2 is as old as me, and still works like brand new
I always hear this shit about HDDs being unreliable for long term but your drives are like almost 2 decades old
What gives
</3
Yeah, im old 😔
Tfym old </3 - 2006 isn't even 2 decades ago
1.9 decades
Holy shite on a shitestick I just found the best deal for a 2TB HDD in my life
Seagate 2TB spinner for 35 pre tax
L
So around 39 total I think
Shit costs like 55 average here
@kindred halo i paid $15 cad for my 2012 hitachi ultrastar
Old issue with it is that because its a 16 head enterprise hdd, its loud as fuck
could it be that my cpu wont go under 45°C in idle cuz of the OC i applied within AMD Radeon Software? i used this Auto OC feature
Oh clearance sale too lol
Lemme check my used market
45c idle is not bad
it used to be around 30 35
xD i got nothing open except HWmonitor
Unless its an enterprise drive, avoid used hdd’s
I don't want to get used anyway
@kindred halo
8x16gb ddr3, 2x xeon x5675’s, 2x rx 570’s, 4x 1tb hdd’s (raid 10, so its only 2tb)
And a 1tb ssd for a boot drive
I have no idea how much a system like this would’ve cost
Not counting the rx 570’s since those are much newer than the rest of the system
After i changed thermal paste my pc wont show screen but lamps start, fans etc
i dont have intergrated graphichs only graphichs card,
i tried replugging the card but dosnt do anything, tried clear cmos wont work, tried different ram wont work
Furry
Says the furry
Yeah I cracked my egg too pey ton found it

here
I love how i saw a message from me saying “ratio”
Hm?
Honestly I like how servers look
Yeah?
Mac pro
:3
Hallmark movie
Test
I5 8400, 32GB at 2666MHz, 256GB TLC MP33L booter, 2TB Seagate HDD (new), GTX 1060 6gb / RX 570/580 2x
Okay is a dual GPU that necessary
Congrats, you've devised a midrange gaming PC from 2017
Because I can barely find any dual PCIe slot motherboards
Lmao
OOOOO guess what I just found
@empty quartz
I can throw a 7700 into this easily
i think my brother has the am4 version of this or something very similar
an ugly beast of a board
good luck in a few months unless this is what i hope it is for (a server)
It looks fineeee
It is - theoretical one
I wouldn't go below 8th gen for my own uses
ngl the only thing i can really see anything before 8th gen and ryzen 2000 is only for a server
- I am hardset on 13400F + RX 6700 XT
Yeah?
I am not dropping any GPU that's PCIe 4.0 into this, probably just 570/580s or 1060s
what why
You strike me as a "forever builder"
Server
constantly talking about this oddball builds that never go anywhere
that makes it even worse kinda
I am waiting till I can get my own proper machine
Then I can shut up about building
Oh
at least i swapped my 7940x server for a 11900 and saved so much power that the ENTIRE 11900 AND HDDs use as much as the cpu and mobo alone on the old boy
aka 11900 with HDDs kinda just done built is like 75w
7940x was like 130-200w+
It's more of something to have silly fun with rather than anything serious
I have been summoned
:3
My oddball builds are just masterpieces of cursed
Ooop gtg now
ngl im considering buying like 10 or 5 phanteks xt pro ultras
i use an amd gpu 😭 no wonder my fps is so shit
eh?
it beats a 5080
well on par with a 5080 if you have the 9070 xt
look at this shit
im on 6900xt
welp then you are ONLY on par with a 5060 ti
im on 1440p ultra nightmare preset so im getting 65 fps
Use Linux
i have 64
im okay
i have 96GB :3
W ram amounts
only 6000MT smh
I still have 16 gigs of RAM on my desktop. One of these days I’ll double it
How about quad
Only with your credit card
Imagine only 6400MT/s smh
what a solid laptop for streaming videos and some lite gaming
with decent battery life
but not apple
slim 7i aura
omnibook ultra flip
@true stirrup doom dark ages on nightmare 😭
saw the slim aura but only could find it in 16gb of ram
wouldnt that be an issue down the line
since its soldered
id go 32 ideally
one the Lenovo website couldnt find the 32gb model
you only have one stick of ram
will the screen look bad since its IPS and not oled like other models
I really need to buy a second one
lmao
it truely is a switcheroo, nvidia with the bad drivers and the fine wine effect when they improve them over time
the issue is that amd cards never really did at semi large scale brick or semi brick themselves
I thought they sorted out the bricking issue
hahhahaha
good joke
no no there is more of it happening now
hmmmm im looking at a i9 9900k and 2080 ti pc for 500$
looks like ass, ngl considering spending 100$ on a phanteks xt pro ultra then deep cleaning and repasting everything in it and then selling it for like 700-800$
hx 1050
flipping is cringe
well eating is fun also roof
but no the thing i keep saying is that i DO NOT want to flip i NEED to do MASSIVE changes
a fuck it was not considering buying it as i am not drowning in cash
buuuuut its too good to let up
or not welp im too poor
the 4tb one is $249 but it's the ideal drive for gaming tbh, at 2tb i'd sooner look at a mp44l or sn580 tbh
this case would be ideal to turn into a nas dude
AAAAAA you are making me want it mor
welp f it ama buy it lucky for me i will get money just in time anyways
i could see you putting in around 8-12 hdd's and double that in ssd's
id buy it bro
whats the ram
32GB
not bad
welp only a few days left and i can use more then like 500$ on my main card
well yea ish or 12100
12100 beats it in single core tbf
oh dang
WELP fuck it transferring the 500$ now and then buying the puter tomorrow
yeah, none of that +++++ bullshit intel used to do
good luck
thanks hopefully my house doesn’t burn down
no not THAT issue the other ones
Hope you have stable drivers
welp in case this happens again i will save up 1000000000$ just in case so i can buy anything, but no i will defo start selling of as much as i own
I have too many shitty PSUs
well.
Sell them as a bundle to ltt, like they did for the broken parts PC 😆
home come nvidia is so bad/amd so good in this game? are nvidia drivers that bad
how the turns have tabled
Is the ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615LR-MS97 a good deal for 1999.99 Micro center has a sale on it rn and i cant decide if its worth it? also is it a MC exclusive because that specific model isn't on the rog or ASUS website?
some games favor amd gpus and some nvidia
you have it backwards for that game specifically lol
Nvidia has been ahead for a while now both in terms of raw GPU power and creating CUDA to allow devs to more easily use the massively parallel operations, led to pytorch (wrapper/bindings for CUDA from python to underlying C++ sdk). Old neural networks consequently got ported to run on pytorch (largely) hence all the AI buzz, neural networks became more usable with "big data" and massively parallel processing. ATI has been the "underdog" for since the late 90s (or at least by 2006 when bought by amd) generally means going to be better price to performance, it varies one generation to another but is the general trend.
Generally speaking amd/ati better power efficiency, better cost to performance, Intel and Nvidia higher overall cost higher power draw/heat but peak performance is best (changed over time some where amd high core count makes up for lower overall top end clock speeds).
Could I get some recommendations for an air cooler for my future Ryzen 5 7600x?
Anyone has expirience with Synology's RackStations? Im thinking of getting a RS819
this is so dumb, its cheaper to buy a brand new ssd that is a whole TB over a very used 512GB ssd, and yes yes qlc shit bla bla bla but meh
Is this monitor still good or should i pay a little more for MSI MPG 271QRX QD-OLED or Gigabyte AORUS FO27Q
@rigid fjord im doing it, ama buy a fkn QLC ssd
don't do it dude, you may face shrinkages and headaches
Basically any dual tower cooler on the market lmao
huh might buy some SSDs from proshop but cases from komplett
im running out of all parts
I know it's the obvious choice, but: https://www.thermalright.com/product/peerless-assassin-120-se-argb/
Same one I put in. Thank you
i need more ram, PSUs, especially gpus, and storage, but i have lots of motherboards
most of the AM4 ones are missing cpus
Does anyone know
o well ama sleep on it and get it next week
get whatever is cheapest
I have a good idea, lets slap a LP cooler on the 9950x3d
Some guy with a creative ass inventor’s mind probably did it before
Probably fine on eco mode
This is ai generated 💀
How did you get it so wrong
hey guys im dealing with some virus problem is there anyone with some knowledge that could help me out?
Should i risk it not working?
ati amd radeon arrx 9070 xt gddr6 16gb graphics card 2k uhd hdr gaming
Seller says ,,vga error" but unsure if its the gpu or the screen
Cause it turns on but no screen.
buyer protection?
Its fb marketplace.
i can’t tell you then
Is it worth risking?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Razer-Viper-Pro-Ultra-Lightweight-Hyperspeed/dp/B0C6V1F6KR
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Razer-Viper-Pro-Ultra-lightweight-HyperPolling/dp/B0CSPN2G5Z
Are either worth it?
Coming from a Model O wired, I tried a g502 wireless and hated it
Afew people discouraged the viper v2 pro and said it beaks easily, others just said "no" without reasoning. And suggested the Viper V3 pro instead and said "it's much better", "it has a new shape" but cost wise it's £130 compared to £79
Nvidia GPUs are wildly more efficent than AMD...
My inital budget was roughly £80 as I dont play competetive but also want something that's good and will last.
I have £60 amazon credit so takes away from the cost a little as well
check out chinesium stuff 🇨🇳
tbh if we’re comparing 7000 and before yes
9070XT and 5070Ti pretty much consume the same power
what does the 9070XT draw
304w base same with the 5070ti
and no im not counting those 4 watts for any difference lmao
depending on how you tune the card both eat 230-250w with a UV
Okay apparently if one molex fan leds broke all of them brakes
i unplugged two of them now lights works again
but i think i'm gonna overheat
have you seen power spikes on 9070xt 😄
On stock scenario its gone up to 623 watt on somebody that i was building pc for
yes, ive seen mine spike to 440w using Pbios (330w) and +10% PL (equalling to 364w)
this is just 1 game?
i believe it’s total system draw
Feedback for HUB: if it's total system power it should say that on the chart
whys 5080 all the way at the bottom LMAO
bottom in power*
i dunno error?
sorry but im gonna have to invalidate this data chart for this, the data im seeing here is hella wonky
is getting electrocuted dangerous? mid amount of electrocution not too extreme but sometimes it burns where i touch
unless this is power spikes
short answer: yes
Would you like to try for yourself?
cancer?
idk maybe dying
i mean everyday i'm getting electrocuted thats why i am asking
getting paralysed
i have none branded psu with bad case
hmmm
what kinda stupid question is getting electrocuted in all honesty
problem is i'm not touching live wire or anything
idk this feels like some sort of appealing to ignorance, even other reviewers will tell you the 9070xt draws more than a 5070 ti
I'm just toucing the case
in gaming stock the 5070ti draws less than 9070xt
9070xt is a card that you need to tune
the 5070ti stock draws like 250w+ in gaming while the XT easily hits 300w
But if you properly tune both cards with a UV, in this situation my 9070xt, I’ve managed to get stock performance at 231w with some rare spikes to 250
i meant 9070 xt draws more
my brain
Whereas on the 5070ti it also drops to 230w area with a UV
no no, it is my fault for not explaining properly
so you can do with a 5070 ti…
the undervolting argument does not hold when you’re undervolting only the underdog

unless yw me to add the warning: This is based on personal experience, results may vary across different systems and silicone chips
it can do 200w btw
I know, for some reason AMD doesnt allow a PL below -30%
bro what amd is way less power efficient??
thats AI generated
ok it might not be AI generated but the way its structured it sounds like chatgpt shat that out and it got processed through another AI
Hows the Logitech G Pro X Superlight over the viper v2 / v3 pro? the superlight is 89.99, v2 pro 79.50 and v3 pro 130
try the mice for themself if u can
its mainly about ur type of grip and which suits best
Im coming from a model o wired, which suits me fine but dont want to re-order as it died on my only 1y past RMA and their support are shit
g502 wireless wasn't for me, I returned that
The superlight, v3 pro and model o all seem roughly identical in size / length, although the v3 pro is a bit more than I was hoping to spend. the suepr light is a little over budget but more willing to pay that price than the v3 pro
Do you mind a lighter chassis?
I can't say for sure if I'd prefer it or not, as long as it's not super fragile I dont see why it wouldnt be an issue
I’d suggest trying the lamzu maya if thats possible
quite similar shape to the above
So unless I just buy once and cry once for the viper v3 pro if it's really worth it, unless there's something else I can go for. I dont game competitively but still play some stuff like fortnite occasionally with friends, rarley bo6 but would play a new release
I asked AI earlier what it thinks my grip looks like on the model o and it said "relaxed / palmed claw"
Bonus to ordering on amazon, as mentioned i have £60 credit
Apparently the viper v3 pro would be a better fit based on the "relaxed / palmed claw" that I was using on my current mouse
Just more than I was hoping to spend
Whats the difference?
basically none, they just have a few different variants
Just pick the color you want tbh
Just curious cos one is white and 59.99 called "EWEADN" other is black, 49.99 and called "MAMBASNAKE"
Yeah I have no clue lol
Or is that literally just because it's a different colour so it's their way of branding that
@boreal vine would probably be able to explain more, they're the one that recommened it to me
Rather than just having a different colour and being called the same thing
But this one looks pretty decent
I heard some of them are somewhat different
fundamentally they are similar tho
the more expensive one (55) has grip tape and extra feet included in the box
I just don't want something that will be unfomcy, the g305 looks too small for me, the v2 / v3 pro / superlight all looked pretty decent in comparison to the build of the model o
the cheaper one (50) does not
Ah, I don't know if I'd even use grip tape but no harm in getting it just incase
Think Ill go with this one and see how it is
https://www.amazon.co.uk/MAMBASNAKE-SUPERLIGHT-PAW3950MAX-Wireless-Adjustable-Black/dp/B0DJ72TGD7
55.99
I like mine a lot
I have 2 of them, they're great
nice light weight ouse
So confusing, my pc which isnt logged in says delivery tomorrow, 24th
My phone which is on prime says 26th
Placed the order, cost me nothing 🙏 😂
Can you resend the link for the web driver? I cant find it lol
Thanks for the help, will update once I get it and use it a little.
Is there anything I need to do for when it arrives like get a software & drivers
Ive got a question for you all, Im a bit confused
Im currently playing Sons Of The Forest at 1440p native, using DLSS quality. Because I hate TAA, I try to play with it off, and use DLDSR and DLSS together for some added clarity
So, how is that when I activate 2.25x dldsr to render at 3840x2160, I gain about 30 frames over rendering at 1440p
Im using DLSS in both instances, and AA in neither
Is this a case of a cpu bottleneck being relieved by stressing the GPU harder?
Because from what Ive noticed in other situations, typically DLDSR would cause a performance drop
Dayum, I was wrong, I can save a lot more money building my own r940
Almost $2k used, can probably build it for $1.6-1.7k
But Ill need to make a custom backplane for 3.5 drives
and chassis
im considering waiting for the rtx 5000 super cards, why they take so long tho
(prolly Q4 this year or CES next)
bc i aint paying 900-1200€ for 16gb of vram
What’s a good brand I can guy a hard drive from? Looking for anywhere to 2-4tb under $100
seagate
As if prices will be better lmao
Yo anyone know why on my new pc i cant install windows cuz it wont detect my ssd? the first thing the windows installer greets me with is an install for raid drivers and wont let me proceed until i install them. Before i install them i can click shift f10 and type list disk to see that it recognizes my ssd but after i install the raid drivers it makes my ssd disappear
turn off intel vmd in bios
you don't need that
Alr ill give it a shot but i was looking for it earlier and i couldnt find it is it possible my bios doesnt have it
it can be called intel rapid storage technology too
Alr ill look for that thank u
How many years is this?
atleast 1
i mean im kinda hoping theyll be similar somehow considering how it was with the 4080S
Anyone that plays fivem is are the quant mods worth it the $10 a month?
You’re doing something wrong if you’re paying for mods
I’m not I’m just asking if it’s worth it
My official answer is no its not
It’s a $10 a month subscription
Fuck no
Yeah so I built this with buildcores, what do yall think of this mess 😭🥀 https://buildcores.com/builds/2YrXpV?share=true
3D PC Builder and Part Picker. Find compatible parts for the lowest prices and see how your build looks before you buy.
ooh cheap
deal
buy it
whats the chance of me going deaf?
as long as it's not any louder than 80dB
i dont have any frame of reference for how loud that is
if you have a smartphone, you could install a sound meter on your phone to get a rough idea
it won't be that accurate though,
my whole ass body just jerked
sounds like your muscles got too relaxed
I was looking at KVMs and kept seeing nothing but praise for Level1Tech KVMs, and I have seen LLT work with Level1Techs before, so I had a question for anyone who follows Wendell from Level1Techs and their products. Does he disclose at all that his KVM's are manufactured by Rexton at all? As far as I can tell the Level1Techs acts as the distributor of the product with an undisclosed markup. They might own the design and Rexton manufactures, but it seems that Rexton does B2B sales for their KVMs. Like I initially said I see nothing but praise for the Level1tech KVMs but not much about it being manufactured and distributed by a different company.
Did you think they made them in their garage? lol
Are you disappointed that the water bottles on lttstore.com aren't made by Linus in Canada?
Are you disappointed that when you go to the supermarket they don't put their margin on the price sticker?
Don't need the sass
You can't say anything about sass
I just did 😬
No, but LTT does do their best at disclosing where their products come from. I don't care if some else manufactures a product. But when you charge 2-3x price without disclosing that you're just a distributor, is pretty disingenuous. Now if you own the design that completely different totally get that. But that's not the discourse I see around their products. If you're charging for something that high should try to be genuine in your disclosures.
How do you put a price on their firmware?
haiii :DD
a 2-3 ish years after i built my pc im looking for a GPU upgrade, i currently have a 3060 and im looking to get a better card,
im looking into a 5070, but im wondering if there are more cost efficient avaliable, thanks :D
Can you say with 100% certainty they develop their own firmware? I find it hard to believe now they just don't ship it with the parent manufacturer's firmware now. Especially when firmware for closed products like those tend to be immutable.
price range between 500 to maayybe 600s
I would encourage you to contact L1T if you want proper answers. Not everything is some elaborate sham
🥀
meow
your upload ping is higher than my download speed 😭
Yeah..... tell me about it
Also what the hell
i love internet
You just have a a 2.5 gigabit connection??
I hate internet
Guess how long it took me to download flight sim 2020
1 morbillion years
8 days
I wanna recreate my dads old gaming computer from what 2000-1 he remembers that he had a 1gb HDD, a "intell pentium maybe a 4 or whatever was new at the time but was close to the top of the line", some top of the line Nvidia card, monsoon speakers "they were flat", 4 supposed 128 MB ram sticks, a CD drive, and from the photo of his room he showed me he had what looked like a hp designed case, go with the case being black except the silver faceplate that was rounded. Any idea what he had?
If you're in Vancouver I have a Pentium 4 you can have for free, don't know about the other stuff, can you send me a photo of the case?
Oh nice I live in Ohio but I'm willing to pay for shipping
Or if you need me to pay for the CPU anyway
It might not be worth it for a Pentium 4
It's worth it to me
I also have the stock cooler
I'll see if I can get it to work. I have to go now cause night time but If you need some other stuff from Pentium 4 and core 2 duo era
in fact
Anyone think that wireless charging mouse pad Logitech sells is worth it? I’d have to buy a mouse as well
Yeah I do have to go too if you have any like HT'S specifically I'm going to guess if that's the one but yeah I'll pay for shipping I'll contact you and sometime in the morning
Even if not I'll still take them anyway
This is pretty much the best photo I have
Let me see if I can get a slightly better
I really only have the one photo to go on after because someone took some photos out of the album because they were jealous
This looks pretty similar
Yo, should I go for a 4080 or a RX9070 XT
5090 whatever is significantly cheaper
AMD
AMD is cheaper by $40
Alright
Get the AMD card
Yes
I’d get the 9070XT if you’re willing to wait for their featureset to catch up
nvidia rn better featureset and more dlss implementation
I was planning on the 9070 xt as well, just saw that they lowered the price of the 4080 in my area so I asked here
just came here to say i changed pc case and upgraded my cpu cooler, and i frigin forgot to take the sticker off
the most basic mistake
I care more about raw performance than fake frames sooo
AMD it is
thankfully i noticed right away on the temp tests and shut it off before any damage was done
both have fake frames buddy
Yes but in terms of actual raw performance, the 9070 xt is better for the price
i believe 4080 still barely pulls ahead of the 9070xt in RT
but for warranties, 9070xt has it
I don't really care all that much about RT if I'm being honest
i have a opportunity to get a 5090 aorus master ice for 3.3k rn lol
can i afford it? yes
is it a smart move? no
9070xt is the better performer for raw fps
And it will get better with age
I saw some dude complaining about amd cards having a 2 year warranty so he got an Nvidia one instead, which has 5 years of warranty in my area
Yup
Yessir
my nvidia broke and my amd didnt 🔥
Speaking of Nvidia, I'll need to repaste my gpu soon
I mean when the time comes for 6090 which I want I can sell it and it’ll prob retain 80-90% value
I've only have one gpu in my life (other than iGPUs), and that's my current one
its not a bad idea but for me? nah
Warranties are generally not an AMD/Nvidea thing, it's a ASUS/MSI/PNY/ZOTAC/Gigabyte/etc thing
Oo
what gpu do you have rn? if you dont mind me asking
Yeah but local distributors offer a 2 year warranty extra for those cards in my region
9070xt
So it's 3+2 years most of the time
Is this a decent first build? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gLRWC8
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7800 XT, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
so far as I know only zotac offers 3+2, gigabyte is 3+1 the rest are like 3
Oh yup
Man that's a GPU bound build
Wdym?
did bro think it was a 7600xt
It's one hell of a rapid CPU for that graphics card
I got is as a decent bundle from microcenter
And then i though it was a 7900xt. I should sleep
im using a 13900kf and a 1650 super
Oh yeah, include the pricing in the list then
7950x3d + gtx 650
Price jump from 5070 to 5080 is fucking stupid
well theres a whole gpu inbetween
so it makes sense
Is it £500-£600 worth of difference tho?
statistically if I get a 5070ti Ill lose a higher % of its value compared to the 5090, but ofc the 5090 is worth more so ill lose more money on that
theres the 5070ti
Yes, and my point still stands
It still makes 0 sense for a 5070 to be £550 and a 5080 to be £1200
£720-920
then just get that lol
wait nvm it was the cpu mobo and ram
thats the middle ground for a reason
I'm not getting any of them
The pricing is fucking stupid.
I'm just saying, the 5070 -> 5080 price diff is stupid
not really condiering how much better it is
Yes really considering it's fucking stupid
and its 2 gpus ahead of it
Doesnt warrant the price diff
a 5080 can outperform a 4090 for less
Okay, make it cheaper too
very rarely
The pricing is stupid
5080 has a slight edge over 4080 super
Realistically, Nvidia could 100% lower prices and make a fuck ton of profit still
bro when youre running a company your aim is to MAXIMISE profits
Not lower prices by 100% before someone assumes that's what I mean.
More people would buy Nvidia if they markdown prices, making more profit
Prices on everything are stupid these days man
true consoles are only 200$ and run as good as pcs 5x the price
fish, capture, capitalize
I know, fucking freddos are overpriced asf
theyre main revenue dosent even come from gaming cards anymore so
same with amd their stuff is overpriced too
ai companies pay anything for the best shit
Ehhhh a 700$ ps5 runs 4k games as good as a 1000$ pc
Doesn't mean I can't complain about the 5080 being 225% the price of the 5070
a 200$ ps5
Hey so just a quick question. I have an RTX 3070 at the moment paired with a ryzen 9 3900x. I want to upgrade soon, and I'm thinking about a 5060ti and ryzen 5 7600x. I want to get a second opinion on it.
mine was 200$ so theyre 200
Where the hell are you finding a ps5 for 200$
Nah, not worth it. 5060ti a bit pants
if u get the 5060ti get the 16g version
where the hell do people get 9070xts for 600 lol
That's what I was thinking
3070 to 5060 ti is not a very good upgrade imo, just gaming right?
5060ti is like a 3080
Yeah, more so for gaming than anything else
pass this gen
good cpu upgrade, but if u can I’d suggest u to go with 5070ti
3070 is still solid
^
Another thing I wanna say, which is an unpopular opinion. Don't buy the weakest gpu in the lineup and complain it's the weakest in the line up. If a GPU has 8gb of vram and u buy it, don't then complain it doesn't have 12, because you bought it knowing it had 8.
unless u go from 1080p to 1440p u dont need a gpu upgrade tbh
consoles run almost every game perfectly and theyre 3070 preformence
Vram is the most stupid shit in the world. Just lower the settings plebface.
The thing is that I keep running into issues with it where I don't think I should be. I keep my drivers and everything up to date but it still lacks in performance sometimes
ultra and high have very little difference in most games
please don’t compare console optimized games to deskop dgpus
If anyone has any idea what he is talking about lmk
Exactly and it makes a world of difference
nooo how am i going to run all ultra settings in 4k raytracing pathtracing
i get 60fps on an aaa 2025 game on a 4gb gpu
just change settingsd fr
I mean, I want my games to look good but also get solid performance at the same time
I saw a video testing the 5060ti 8gb version. Complaining that it can't do raytracing, ultra settings at 1080p. Then don't use raytracing? Oh, and then they enabled dlss quality, vram dropped and it ran fine.
So, who gives a shit
who cares about not using dlss and fg on a low tier gpu lol
there are many 2023-2025 aaa’s that won’t run 60 even at low settings
on 4gb gpu
the real problem with the 8gb is that the vram problem got highlighted on pcie 4.0 vs 5.0 lmao, 20% diff between the 2 when its being choked
well spiderman 2 does
just ignore drivers fr
I recently went from an rx6750xt 12gb to rtx 3080 10gb, and it's faster. People said, "stupid cause you're losing vram", mofo I play Minecraft. And tbh, I tried cyberpunk, 3080 ran better. Tried starfield, 3080. I don't miss that 2gb at all
yea wait for the 60 series and even more absurd prices 🤑
Just ignore them and move on fr
Yes it's a Dell dimension 3000
Not Tarkov eating my 3070 alive
man i wish ts 4090 worked
Yes I'm 99% sure
What FPS u getting at what settings?
It even has the little lip on top as well
i need.
Sushi?
I have everything at almost the lowest I can get it to and most maps I'm getting anywhere between 15 and 35 fps
the log
any light troop when
I can manage to get 45 fps on streets of tarkov but 10 on something like lighthouse
I've done a bunch of optimizing and tried a bunch of different settings that are supposed to help with fps
🤑
its so weird how fps feels like its half on pc
like 30 on console feels like 60 on pc
The only thing I got to work was optimizing tarkov through the nvidia app and setting it all the way to performance
Stupid question but I installed a new CPU today as well as an AIO but unfortunately the AIO I have needs a proprietary part to actually turn on but I wanted to make sure the rebuild went okay. Is it bad if I turn on the PC for like a minute just to make sure it boots up and then immediately shut down even though the AIO doesn't have power currently?
Also just one more thing I noticed is that with all my games, I can't enable ultra performace or max performance whatever it is for dlss. The most it lets me go to is just performance and the next performance option is greyed out
to be fair thats no t ncessarily wrong
Theyre the best 1440p cards
the way things are going it's going to be a 1080p card in no time
It already is
Ive seen it gets 90fps at 1080p
the game gets like 300 with dlss and fg (you're supposed to use them)
I seen an astral 5090 for 2400 on marketplace should I cop
True gaming pc
Side by side
yes
Its like 10h away
Idk why it hasn't already sold tho because its a very popular city
Crazy deal 🥀
https://youtube.com/shorts/oSby6zbinsI?si=IZlnZdGiycBVpETQ 🤤 except the 50
Heya :) I've got a question regarding Radeons
... is this genuinely a link to a webpage that goes into why not going straight into a question is a bad thing ?
I don't know if this is the right place to ask my question, so in case it's not, I'd get redirected to the proper place
You will if you say it too
That's fair, but I was in the process of typing the question out
I earned some money, what GPU do I buy at this moment
ideally <$CAD 500, 1440p
Anyway : I'm upgrading soon. I've already decided on the 9800x3d and 64gb of 6000 ddr5. I'm ditching nvidia and got told to go for the Radeon 7900xtx. I can't find either it or the 9070xt on gpumonkey, and I can't seem to find other comparison websites that aren't userbenchmark.
Considering I want to be able to game at 4k60/1440p120, does the extra vram of the 7900xtx make more sense, or is the 9070xt a better bet?
I don't play anything in particular. I might want to eventually stream, but surely that can't factor too much into the decision
Gpu monkey is not a gaming comparison website
Just get the 9070 xt
Ok, thanks
is used an option?
Used what
xtx is better than 9070xt in raster but draws more powah, has worse scaling with rt, etc.
It is to a degree. If you're asking for budget reasons, it's not really a factor
amongus sekond hand
I'll be 3000€ in the hole by the end of this process anyway
I have a 7900 xtx, just get the 9070 xt
the the
I don't plan on enabling RT. Does that change anything?
Too bad a lot of modern games force it
if you’re up only for gaming raster then get the xtx (aslong it’s the similar price or lower)
That's true
Nau the 9070 xt ain't too far behind a 7900 xtx while also having good rt and upscaling capability
7900Xtx is 1k brand new, 9070xt is 800 brand new
9070 xt
I can't find either in my vicinity on my country's equivalent of craigslist
xtx makes sense if it’s similarly priced
I see
maybe used? 4080/super, xtx
Unless I can find the 4080 for reaaaaal cheap (comparatively)
You will not
I ordered the Bigscreen beyond 2e
9070XT
Unless ur playing 4k, u dont need another 8gb vram
-Better RT
-Better powerdraw
-FSR4 is a better upscaler than FSR3
Wow that last part is funny
I said I want to game at 4k60
More like 120 on that bad boy
nope, many crazy people are selling their almost expired 4080 for brand new 5070ti prices
4k60 also doesnt need 24gb vram
I earned some money, what GPU do I buy at this moment
ideally <$CAD 500, 1440p
plus the only cards with 24gb+ vram are XTX, 4090 and 5090
O yeah memory management on the 9070 xt is VERY VERY good
Yeah, I just checked and the cheapest I found don't go below 900€, which is 100€ more than a brand new 9070xt :/
I also bought the limited edition Vr chat storage case , and an enamel pin and shoelace buckle set , and a T-shirt

How long would you guys say a 7800x3d and 9070 xt last
in ur case its basically the same argument of 5070ti or 9070xt
4-6 years give or take
Try to answer this guy too, tho, please :') It's the second time they ask and I feel like I'm taking all the focus of the chat
20 years
but since moores lore lowk dying probably more
yeah for pacman maybe
it all depends if devs still wont optimise their game
People are still using I dono xp era computers and such
no lmao
Oh, ok, in that sense
chances are 16gb by that time will be today’s 8gb
I'm playing a game from the 90s rn
Not in the "gaming at high settings" sense
Very fun, but very scary
Well thank y'all very much, I'll be getting the 9070xt with the 9800x3d
Want to know what it's called?
16gb? in 2024? yuck
Is he talking about ram or vram?
If it's ram, very yuck
VRAM buddy read the context
Okay buddy
... is 16gb vram genuinely low? There aren't many cards with more than that below a month's worth of salary
12 GB might as well be minimum at this point
:/ Now it sounds like I should get the 7900xtx
16gb isnt low, just that more modern games are really pushing it, some people have had problems with 16gb at 4k and that was on like 4080 and 5080, where nvidia uses abt 1gb less vram than amd
Just get whatever you want
I see. It's a "problem" on the very high end, not an actual issue that concerns me
Funny thing is if you asked this last year I would've suggested the neatly priced 7900 GRE
GRE?
I overpaid for my 4070 super
I know GER is short for Germany, but I've never heard of GRE
I overpaid for my 4070 TI
golden rabbit edition
Golden rabbit edition
I think I said this already but if I was getting the 4070 super i would've gone for the FE
hah me fasteros u sloweros
Before; Chinese only
You were here before
And you’re on pc
Cheats
nah skill issue does not count
If I wanted advice on what I should look for/get for a build, where would I go for that?
well... no one help?
I earned some money, what GPU do I buy at this moment
ideally <$CAD 500, 1440p
another question really, should I go with Intel or AMD GPU
thanks
GRE used to mean Great Rabbit Edition, now its Great Radeon Edition
Golden
It's also 16gb gddr6 and at only 650 for a sapphire nitro+. I imagine the 9070xt is better by a great enough margin to justify the price difference
i’m not saying the 7900 gre is good nowadays
o wait its golden? damn
just that i got it at under msrp when it was relevant
glorified 7800xt
Makes sense
@austere crypt wtf?
deglorified navi 31
Would a 12g RTX 5070 be a good upgrade from a 1050Ti for 1920x1080 gaming
Yea sure why not
Might go with a 5060 instead, so i can get 16GB
yes
5060ti 16gb version?
lttcord users is this per*ume worth it
it's like 11-12 USD idk the exchange rate today
yeah the RTX 5060Ti 16G
I've not smelt it, how can I judge it?
you would be better off upgradinbg to a 9070, 5070's probably way more expensive too
it's fr*nch
tough to say, 9070 is more exp in the US than 5070 I heard
Nah the 5070 is 819 while the RX 9070 is 1.3-1.4k
what the f-
Australian GPU prices
yea 5070 u go
Not one bit. I sneeze at the smell of most perfumes.
Alright well my current GPU larger than the 5070 so it should fit neatly
What’s the rule of thumb for finding the needed wattage psu for your pc?
If it's mid ranged 850, if it's high ranged 1600
What driver should I install for my storage
RAID or VMD
This is my OS drive
Or do I need AHCI. help me figure out
what are you trying to do exactly

yes
awesome profile sim
o yeah cat cool
long time no see
i should really change the banner pic
NO CHANGING PROFILE PICTURES
agree, been a while
you can't tell me what to do
Hey! I have a Amd Ryzen 5 5600x, Geforce 3060, and 16gb of ram, My rust wont run above 60 fps even on the lowest settings. Id my setup outdated or to bad for rust? What should i do😁 will upgrading from 2800mhz 16gb ram to 32gb 3600mhz make a big difference in performance?😁 thanks
how's it going?
:(
decently enough, what about you ?
about the usual for me
glad to hear
more like letterbox tbh
i have a great idea, so i have a NUC and a shit ton of PSUs that should never meet the power of a gpu and too many 1TB HDDs.
ama try and make a NAS out of dis shit with a god dam nuc and i might be able to make it the size of a smol box or smn
i knew buying this was a good idea
probs red ringed
50/50 on it working or not in a nuc dude
nau it will trust
OMG that is true due to this being a pcie device i can do EZ passtrough for truenas or something
you never know with some nuc's tbf
Not very much PCIe in a decapitated laptop
considering i put a pcie 3 x4 nvme ssd in it i feel like it should work
i have from 4th gen to 5th gen to 6th gen to 9th gen to 10th gen NUCs
i am the NUC king
i think he will try to force it to work
which one to get used rtx 2060 super or rx 6600
it's actually ruining the picture
rtx 2060 super
6600 has more horsepower but 2060 super I believe has more vram? so I’d get the 2060 super and slap dlss on it
thank you
shrink
just looking to be better than 1650 😄
both the same vram but 2060 has tensor cores cuda and ofc upscaling as in dlss 4
tbh i prefer nvidia never used amd gpus
They both have 8GB of VRAM
There are some rarer 12GB versions of the 2060 super tho but it's not that easy to find one
If both are the same then ig I’d still take the 2060 super just for the dlss
That's sick
@rigid fjord Those batteries you suggested for controller, with 1 charge I used them over 50 hours and it's not even half yet
Duracell 1300mAh
they last so long
good batteries do that
looks good to me tbh
So the vetroo has an 8pin pcie but my hub needs a 6pin. Does anyone know where id get an 8pin to 6pin?
in Georgia
your vetroo also has a 6+2 pin pcie there if you actually read your manual
My eyes skipped over that oml
could someone help me here please, (i currently have an ipad pro m4 13 inch and i’ll hopefully soon be getting a 5080 or 5090 desktop computer due to me getting a loan with uni), in september ill be starting university ill be doing an animation course, 1 would i need a laptop and 2 if so what laptop should i get for university?
What are you studying?
i said in the message an animation course
Oh lol sorry 😭
it’s a bachelor of arts degree honours in animation
it’s fine lol easily done
Hmm. I would say a Macbook, however I would check for software compatibility (in regards to whatever animation software is used)
why macbook?
Battery life
You know how long your iPad lasts? A Macbook will last a similar amount of time
PC laptops struggle battery wise
my ipad roughly last a whole day depending how much i use it
Most windows laptops you'd want to top up throughout the day
i’ve heard the hp pavilion 16 has good battery life
would you say the macbook would last longer, also are you talking about macbook pro or macbook air?
Either. Macbook pro will last a couple hours longer, but macbook air still lasts about 2 working days
That one does look to have good battery life
macbook air does 15 hours and macbook pro does 24 hours
i don’t really need an expensive laptop as i’ll have the pc and ipad i’ll be using plus pcs at uni, this is just for more portability typing and bringing files with me back home
Have you tried a mac/do you like it? Some people can never get used to it and prefer windows
i used my exs mac it’s alright, but not a fan of macos
Yeah might want to go for a pc then
No point buying a fancy mac if you don't like macos haha
well i’ll be getting a pc from a loan i’ll be getting from university
That's nice, I'm taking some design principles into account such as trace highways and bundling components close to ics
yh i prefer windows in general
It's not perfect but It wasn't meant to crafted like a masterpiece
I didn't even rotate the ics to align correctly lol
Mac
So at uni they'd have PCs for you I'd assume?
might see if i can find a good one second hand from cex
yh they have a pc room
You could just... Try without a laptop for a bit. Use your iPad with a keyboard for note taking
I know a couple people who just use an ipad pro as their computer
ok
I don't support that route but if it works it works I guess
I heard they are trying to make it more like macos now which is nice
well if the new ipad os 19 coming out apparently it’s gonna be more like mac os
Mm
If they have a PC at home, and a PC at uni, they can do the "real computer" things there, I see them being a good candidate for it
what keyboard and trackpad case should i get?
Personally a functional laptop computer is something I prefer more
Magic thingy official apple
fair, well i don’t know what i’ll prefer
£300 💀
Just gotta wait till ipados 19 imo and try it out in store
It's very good apparently
They already have an ipad
Fair enough, amazing battery life and portability if their workhorses are elsewhere
Ya veo
could get a cheap laptop with that money
I mena you could try aftermarket cases I guess
Heck, they could even remote access their PC at home from an ipad if they really wanted
Sorta something like that yeah
I love the way onshape and RDP does it
Very low latency and efficient
I have a friend who uses a Logitech one I think
Moonlight or parsec
Moonlight is game streaming no?
And desktop
Is parsec actually quick? I havent tried it out
Or multi monitor
Does it work fine on bad networks? And is it lower latency than windows RDP?
RDP will be lower latency than Parsec, and is optimised for "officey" things
Parsec is saving my life in uni
plus i could use the laptop along side the desktop pc at home as like a second monitor
It's very fast even on slow networks
You can use your ipad as that
Shame it's paid
That is what I do with moonlight
But RDP isn't a great idea for most people because they're idiots
It's completely free
Hmmm
I thought it had to be paid
Everything I am talking about is freeee
Parsec has questionable MFA
I'll try it out I guess
Would moonlight offer comparable latency?
Well you need Google authenticator or some other authenticator to log in
But once you're logged in, no MFA at all. That's horrible
If your session token is stolen, full access with no MFA
