Anyway I know my screen is shite but atleast it's not AliExpress shite
It seems very left and right though, some say it's amazing and some say it's trash, guess that's a testament to AliExpress quality
I need to figure out how to fix saturation on Samsung screens hhhhhhh
aight aight, yeah I'm looking on fb marketplace as well but i'll look on ebay the now
I love AliExpress for myself, when I'm dealing with customers, hell naw šš
Quality Control depends on the mood
That is so true
"Feeling nice not gonna get the 5 year old sweatshop worker fired today idk"
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1082188323733377/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks this look any decent for price?
See posts, photos and more on Facebook.
When their qc workers have a 5 minute break the production keeps going šš
it's fb marketplace
I feel like they will get fired if they stop too many bad screens because that's expensive losses lol
Cheaper to just scam customers and not refund
Or refund if they are super insistent
that psu looks like its going to do what a rpg does
They aren't losing any money + it's like 1/1000 bad purchases that are so stubborn
Don't forget the companies that just disappear once you purchase from them
Part List - Intel Core i5-12400F, Arc B580, GAMDIAS TALOS E3 MESH ATX Mid Tower
Fixed
I mean most companies on AliExpress are quite large now if you buy from AliExpress choice
Eyyyyy we're both using Gamdias cases :3
Yeah I understand that, but you still gotta remember the random brands that pop up and disappear once they ship
don't ever bother with marketplace for pc's when you're in the uk
It's like a store that packs everything up into a disguised U-Haul and runs off once you leave
Fair enough
could do an r5 7500f/7600 + b580 also
I get paid in a few hours so depending on what I can find on ebay I may very well order all that stuff and build my first pc aha
You can charge back aliPay payment processing platform in that case if it's a massive purchase, imo not worth getting your Ali account purged
god dam this makes me feel bad feels
Lessgo we got the fiber installed
as long as you still have plenty of reserve money then i do not
Nah Iām working with like 3.5K but I got shit loads of bills too and want to get my provisional an shit and some other stuff sorted ahaha
yeah wait on a pc if possible
do not get a pc with an r5 5500 inside ever
That's assuming I even have one lol
You never know tomorrow I might get that one off of awd it and make you all disappointed I chose the easiest way out to get probably a mid tier pc š
The only online shop I've bought from was Shein
Why hahaha
For tiny little accessories
Yeah it's not a direct payment
Itās probably shite
They make 2060S' lmao
I pay my purchases to AliExpress London
As in refund, or paying THEM?
What I think sucks is that they change their fucking address every 3 days
Thatās fair thatās fair haha
Paying them
Oh, odd
A couple months ago it was www.aliexpress.com as the paying account, now it's aliexpress (all lowercase lol)
Then back to aliexpress
During the same day
I think I might work as an ATT tech
Itās fun what they do, you just run cables outside and inside, their installations
2 hours per location
Double pay on weekends
And itās union
thoughts?
Coupon
really bad combo purchase
And their PayPal address is "PayPal *AliPay EUR"
well no shi bro š
You asked I answered
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Arc B580, GAMDIAS TALOS E3 MESH ATX Mid Tower
Wdym?
Any idea how much UK AliExpress 7500f are?
Liam. Does your profile picture consist of yourself, as a person, exhaling intoxicants?
vro ur nt tuff
it basically has a 4th gen intel i7 inside and you'd be paying more than it's worth for the build
it's heroin smoke
Interesting.
around £150, which ain't worth it when you can get the 7600x for £155
ahh i getchu i getchu
but still would that run alright, looks fuck load better than what i have rn and still pretty cheap
what do u intend to do on it
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/156805571591 nope, but the one i just linked will do, it's also much better specced
play like rust and custom zombies on black ops 3. I got a ps5 for anything really else
You can have a pc that looks good and runs like shit lol
prime example of my old pc before i upgraded
sell the ps5, keep the controller, spend double money on a crazy good pc
yeah i got numped with the one i got but i was in dire ned so i could playu defiance again so not too bothered about it
Then you gotta buy the games for pc
i'd swap the case and gpu on this, resell the gpu on to make some money back and shove in either a b580 or a 7700xt
do people actually actively spend money on a 3050 on ebay? š
the 3050 is at least usable
surprisingly yes
thats concerning
still funny a 3050 has dlss 4.0
Iām so glad the ONT is built into the modem/router now
im not
I didnāt really want a big ass box on the side of the house
I mean I could but my missus uses the ps5 so I'm tryna avoid selling it haha but that was going to be the plan
wat mine is in the house
there are 2 fiber lines that come in too
oh youre married
Interesting
nah but we ben together 3 years
I don't want to sell my soul away yet im only 20 lol
ben
ATT usually installed the separate ONT outside where the termination is
gramps
marrying someone is NOT selling your soul vro do NOT mix that up š
i bet that is a 2nd gen i7
They did this before
I mean you never know these days unless you read the fine print aha
im sorry to pop in and potentially interrupt but I made a thread in tech support and would really appreciate some help if someone can take a look (its about PC Case fans) Thank you so much, sorry again!
i prefer that as you can do your own gateway ez pz
go on then !!
hey i do not have an ONT
can't recommend a b580 with this bad of driver overhead
The ATT gateways are fine, nice 5Gb port
in one game?
i never knew a cpu could heavily impact performance by THAT much
also at 1080p in 2025 XD
4th or 6th gen more likely
since it does not
also was that not something a massive case last year or something
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/405418673569 also another viable r5 5600 build that's reasonably priced for it's specs @sturdy cargo
sorry im not sure what you mean

yeah most likely will be fixed in the future but I wouldnt buy a GPU to get a promis in the future, I would want my full cards performance now imo
its already fixed
you have to renew prenups?
well ofc with modern hardware
Thereās an imposter Daniel
No I mean update them when your finances change
Amend it
oh yeah obviously
Is the RTX 3050 not better than the gtx1070?
i would way rather have a 3050 then even a 1080 tbh
So between that and the one I found on eBay what would you go for?
same
The core i7 3050
i dono some r5 7500f and b580
I'm thinking this but with the core i7
Bruh, dont
It has the same dog shit cpu in it
yeah but i can upgrade that can I not?
No
it would be a fair bit better yes, you still have a ton of upgradability with either one i linked
no
You are buying intel, you will buy into a dead platform
The i3 10100 will beat that unnamed i7
no, do not look at any quad cored i7's
ngl even a 8100 might
Not the 10th gen i3 šš
even a 12100f would tbh
a 12100f beats a 9700k
12100f would murder it
right i'll avoid intel altogether for cpu haha
and a 5600/5600x murders a 12100f
r5 7500f and b580
whatever you do don't buy an Ebay PC
what why????
if its shipped GREAT buyers protection.
he is lying its not a 5060 its a 4060
is v expensive but the same type of specs?
they are bad, that 3050 is going to be bottlenecked by that i7 4th genš¤£
okay okay I'll avoid this one like the plague ahaha
fr I was expressing my feelings of that CPU choice
excuse me..
well we the people who do this day in day out already sent him some GOOD ebay listings
pls buy that
no
what's wrong with a 5060
like a 500 pound pc or smn
Yah thereās a lot of sellers who list GPUs incorrectly hoping buyers wonāt notice
I returned 3 computers before I got an actual 4090
yes
I wish eBay actually punished those kind of people
Better then the others you posted
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Arc B580, KOLINK Observatory Y AMD SE ATX Mid Tower
One of the best so far even better then mine
:3
has that nvme drive got dram sir?
Wait a620 mobo that's why it's cheaper
@hexed tapir wanna look over my micro ATX build, $1.5k budget before taxes
does it matter at all??
a620
anyways you are not losing out on anything with it anyways
Iām still trying to see if it can be improved any more
wrong, you just don't buy the ebay specials, you do actual research on ebay
yes because the system will perform bad after a few reads and writes
CPU ocing
no??
Sure
nope PBO is still a thing on em
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 5070, Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower
dumb question asked tbh, dram cache ios not needed
this sarcastic lol or should i actually consider this pc?
i think its just manual OC something you should never do on ryzen
I feel for the price, itās pretty well specced
Not even newegg respects intel
lol
make sure you wish him good look with them hdd speeds
Use the $20 in fans on a better case
totally wrong
where did you get any of this from
the mp33 pro is tlc nand, not qlc nand
his arse
what we think of the liquid cooled one though?
You donāt need liquid cooling at your specs
no
pointless
peerless assassin would do the trick
SSDs without their own RAM are appearing on the market as a way to make the speed of an SSD available at lower prices. But is this tradeoff worth it, and why do SSDs even have RAM, anyway?
Share your mouse and keyboard between multiple computers with Synergy! Save 50% here: https://symless.com/synergy/tq10
Techquickie Merch Store: https://www....
what's that?
air cooler from thermalright
still the same tech
we are not buying a 2.5 sata ssd??
and its not QLC
Technology advances you know
also most SSDs have a cache like thingy built in
Im seeing only sata ssds in this video
ahh right i getchu, would you reckon I go for it anyways an say fuggit? I just wanna run rust at at aleast 60 fps and black ops 3 at 60, 120 would be a bonus aha but idrc ahaha
Why are we assuming 7 year old tech in NVMe SSDs?
this is about as good an info as using curdled milk for drinks
The liquid cooler wont do much I assure you but sure go ahead
nein
550MB sate vs 2200MB nvme drive
The liquid cooler wonāt get you from 60 to 120 fps
aircooler from idcooling for the same performance but cheaper
i don't mean the liquid cooler itself i mean the pc with the liquid cooler though does that look okay or should I avoid
If you care about performance, build your own pc and budget parts well
Fair enough
I FUCKINHG KNEW IT
just make the list i sent
what if i break something while building it xD
skill issue
You shouldnāt
People say building a computer is hard, if you read manuals it isnāt
Requires serious amounts of stupidity to mess up (I shouldn't be saying this)
Or follow along a youtube video
Exactly, I watch a YouTube video for my mobo connectors on my first build
The first time I unplugged the front panel connectors accidentally, my heart stopped
Yee, I didnt know there were words on the motherboard when I did mines
skull issue**
i would not call 150GB a few but you do you
skjull issue
I was trying to plug an age cable in that was above the front panel connectors but
There wasn't enough room because of my gpu
age cable?
Argb**
also this is the non pro
Icl i'm definitely just buying one pre built I'll avoid intel and go for ryzzen though haha
thanks for tell me i guess but in the toxic manner we are all here to learn
Back then I didn't know how to deal with PCs properly (still don't but way better than I was back then)
And I got so scared
I might buy this
The list we sent are better
you also cant just go around saying what ever you please
it's pre built, i don't gotta worry, it should let me run rust and other games moderately better
also there is no point for me to give a shit, every time somebody does this shit a lot of the time it takes a lot of time to explain stuff like this was not the case
the 7600X and b580 is better in every way
more ram and better
I know but I'd end up fucking up my own build ahaha
Why do people want help and when youāre offered a way better price to performance option they donāt want it
Itās a good learning experience to build a computer
You would have to feed your parts to your puppy to fuck up
"HAHAHAHA" "I FUCKINHG KNEW IT" nice way to get a point across
Youāll know how to troubleshoot if something happened because youāll have a basic understanding of the insides
at this pricing you should be looking at lga 1700 builds or am5 builds tbh
so as you say, you shouldnt worry about getting a dramless drive if you are getting nvme?
i already sent a list
if its TLC
i sent one also before
here is a list of TLC ssds and QLC ssds
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1B27_j9NDPU3cNlj2HKcrfpJKHkOf-Oi1DbuuQva2gT4/htmlview?pli=1#gid=0
Dram only matters for large file transfers, gaming it does not matter
even SLC and MLC
not even then unless it's to do with video editing
Yeah, or something like a nas
its funny when a guy bought a 4TB p3 plus and was i think extracting a large file wondering why his speeds were stuck at 70MB
the only reasons to have a dram cached drive is if it's sata 2.5 ssd's or you're 3d rendering, video editing or mass code compiling
unless you are doing 25gig even HDDs are fine
Yah 300MB/s is good
dram can be good but now a days does not reall matter
Eh
the last dramless drive i owned made league stutter of all things so i just spend the couple bucks extra for a quality drive
For a regular user?
1GB/s and higher is good
probably works better now with hmb but not something i care to try again
What do they need that for though
and then doing optane for metadata
Not hard to achieve, any decent nvme can achieve it
I use my optane for write cache
heya, could I get another set of eyes on a thread I posted? I could use some help. https://discord.com/channels/375436620578684930/1374122167033401395
thank you, sorry!
Sorry, I'm blind, I cannot read your messages
thats okay
Man no I remember why I tend to avoid windows for development
You do passthrough or partition?
Mac OS all the way
any ssd can be cache for that tbh
Real men have fabs dram on their SSDs
Ikr, it made my life so nice, I have a gen 3 nvme for write cache and the optane for read
Ik, i mean for just big boy transfer stuff
Same
i wanna do dat too
Where steam link pro ultra Max
Have you tried partitioning?
ama try and get my landlord to DMZ my gateway
Lmao
I found the impact on performance between a partition and host is super small
bob how smort is it to DMZ a extra gateway
Yah, you can
I just donāt know which drivers you move to the guest
Why? AMD issue?
Youāre copying drivers directly from the host so thatās not the issue
a decent 1tb or 2tb ssd would work for that, especially an nvme one
Wonāt any TLC NVMe be fine?
it would but the bigger the drive, the more it has to fill up as cache before slowing down no?
I have no clue
Yup, thats why mine are 500gig write cashe and 16gig read cache (the optane was 15 bucks and it's 16gigs lmao)
I thought it was funny
Yeah but it's laggy af
Itās fine
Random lag spikes
Iām close to a server though
It hates modded servers
Sim check out the mod modflared
Ah mines just vanilla with the bedrock/java crossplay mod
also doesn't people need to have the playit on their own pc
Ah, i ended up using tailscale lmao
from my understanding DMZ just forwards all the ports?
Iād check out modflared
kinda just opens that thing to everything but considering i have a unifi gateway with a shit ton of different protection stuff i feel safe enough
You just need your own cloudflare domain and the mod installed
What does that do, never looked at it
I see, I'm not paying money rn, too broke lmao
@tidal geyser all of these for $130 what do you think
Ah, I paid like $10 for a year
But valid af I get it
in Norway most places have a public ip
If tailscale is working no need to change
i dono nice also fyi the cooler comes with thermal paste
Its as fast as the server network speed is š
cant be faster then 150 rn
yeah but i got the thermal paste for my other projects, now im regretting it i shouldve gotten this one but whatever
Won? Congratulations
also what do you guys think that is a good thermal paste to buy in bulk other than aliexpress GD-2?
I liked modflared for modded servers as you can just include it in the mod folder pack and it should just let them connect
just to see if im thinking right, lets say i make a minecraft server with my setup then portforward on my unifi gateway for the server it will just work well should right?
Awsome
then it will just go to the puplic ip
yeah put a tenner on slots and won 950 quid on a 10P spin hahahaa buzzinggg
save that £950 in to building a pc
hmmm how does one do that
i cant portforward on cloudflare
i just wanna play minecraft
You don't need to. That's the point of CloudFlare tunnels?
then every person would need the cloudflare client
I play Minecraft Java Vanilla with Vibrant Shaders on
That's the downside to tailscale
might get a pc with bigger budget now
main issue with tailscale is that you still need to port forward
No
for good speeds
I haven't really played with shaders or mods mainly because it got tiring
i meant
the benefit of tailscale is that it still works without it
I got the full gigabit speeds without that
wat
Yup. Your options are either:
a) use a VPN/tunneling service, which requires all devices be "part of" that service/network.
b) use a VPS (either your own, or playit.gg) between the Minecraft server and players.
oh, or c) get an ISP connection that doesn't restrict what you can/can't do with it.
welp im either going to buy my own networking or just use my own gateway and change my entire networking setup
i still feel like DMZ should work
Or run a wire to every end users pc š¤
i think i explained it wrong maybe i dono
can't a cloudflare dns point to the tunneling ip?
the b60 looks interesting, i wonder how it will game, given its a professional card
Yes, however, the free tier only handles web traffic, and you still need to port forward if you're just doing DNS.
I want the duel gpu version
ah bugger
yeah im curious about that one
wonder if games can take advantage of two gpus
No
Not really anymore. SLI / Crossfire died years ago.
not even when they are on the same like, board?
was thinking the dns would be what everyone else joins using while it feeds to the tunneling ip and that then sends to the portforwarded server
Close to a decade
gtx 690
funny
should i touhc this weird copper circle piece on my crt monitor it looks dusty and i think i need to dust it
Dual GPU (on the same board) is NOT the same thing as Dual GPUs (2x same model of GPUs on a motherboard).
No, and linus also said it's 2 gpus on 1 board, but they are not connected, they act as 2 separate gpus, the whole point of it was to put more gpus in a server
ah
missed that
If you're referring to something like this, then what @clear canyon said.
https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/gpus/maxsun-unveils-intel-dual-gpu-battlemage-graphics-card-with-48gb-gddr6-to-compete-with-nvidia-and-amd
Dude i want that duel gpu, that gets me excited, haven't seen a duel gpu in ages
š¤
It's 2 B70s in a single PCIe slot trench coat
Eh, if your workload can make use of it, would be nice. Thing is, most professional GPUs aren't designed for gaming, and more importantly, games aren't developed to take advantage of professional GPU compute power.
it should be
Why are we dueling GPUs
work computers are not meant for gaming, OMG
To put more gpus in the same server
But why pit them against each other
i enjoy making things do things they are not supposed to do
:3
i need gaming benchmarks NOW
Oh you mean dual GPUs
Yeah, they got a new intel card that has 2 gpus on 1 card
Yeah I was commenting on the spelling error the whole time
But linus did say that it will accept gaming drivers, so its totally possible
honestly i suspect they will be weaker for gaming
Well yeah lol
Lower clocks than B580
Also blower coolers be loud
Workstation/server gpus are clocked lower for stability
it's not going to be better than a single b580
not that we can't adjust that after the fact
actually it'll probably be worse because of this ^^
These may actually be locked down
Not all are overclockable, but id assume these will be
Or less apt VRMs
Linus said they are not blocked like other ones from amd and nvidia
So possibly not
I thought he was referring to AIBs being allowed to make these cards in different form factors
That too, intel isn't limiting them to a design
he says intel won't prevent you from installing gaming drivers
There are some with 8pin power, the duel has the burning cable connector
If they can be OC'd I probably wouldn't expect that much OC headroom is all
But I think they could still keep the clocks on these locked regardless of the driver
because they don't know how to duel banjo's
We just gotta see
The B50 I'd imagine is locked since its designed for slot power
Well I guess it technically could have no power limit slider but unlocked clock
I lost track of how many days into the melted gpu fix I am but itās working good after a few days of running :)
Yes :)
Good luck. 1MB is well under the minimum requirement.
not possible, also would be one of the dumbest things possible someone could do
nope that's just you
I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, it's best not make claims about things that aren't possible.
It probably is possible if ur willing to go through weeks of headaches and if ur like MattKC or something but no one is going to do that and the solution would genuinely just be page everything.
and run everything way slower while fucking it up even more so, nah
Iām not saying itād be practical
where are we storing the page file in the 1gb drive that wonāt even fit the os itself
Could be very silly, I want to see it happen
How much FPS would you get on medium graphics red dead 2 on these specs
how big of a problem is this š¬š¬š¬
Kind of a big problem. All Operating Systems need some free space for "working" temporary files.
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/CNBzRV
What upgrade would be recommended for 400Ā£
Main games : occasional triple a title , cyberpunk, r6 and beamng

dam š
cpu and gpu
Itās building up pressure and will explode, you should hand it to your worst enemy
bet
5700x3d with 32gbs and save up for 5070?

what's the software to use for a simple NAS build nowadays?
Hey guys, I want to build my own NAS, but which NAS software allows automatic phone backups like Synology's DS file app does?
Swap
Nothing
You need to use a 3rd party docker
does the photoprism + photosync combo still work?
That is not a phone backup that is only pictures
oh gotcha

5600/5600x and get a 6700xt/6750xt/6800xt/7700xt
you'd use nextcloud in a docker
id get the better gpu first ngl
32gb ddr4 used is cheap so probably that
then gpu
then upgrade cpu
Am4 is no longer getting better cpu might aswell get the second best cpu on that platform for gaming
@mental mural
I upgraded from 5600x to 5700x3d
assuming youāre at 1080p iād say go x3d first
3060 is fineā¢ļø and youāll see a bigger benefit at the low res
Iām having trouble deciding whether I should go for an IPS monitor or VA. Iām upgrading my 1080p monitor to a 1440 p monitor and the ips panels are a bit more expensive but should I spend the extra or is va just as good. How does it compare?
I would also go cpu first, you may have lower fps but likely you'll get much less stutters than if you would have a 3600x + 7800xt
x3d brainrot
youll only see the benefits if u pick an extremely high end gpu AND then proceed to choose not to play at high resolution
hey guys, for some reason the usbc port on my case doesnt work. Does anyone know where i can find a replacement (or what to search on Aliexpress) ?
nah, there's plenty of games that I play in 4k high that are still CPU bottlenecked, that's why I upgraded
is it plugged in to your motherboard?
i need almost exactly something like this just for the usbc port to be a little more exposed
i saw good uplift at 1440p depending on the title going 12900ks -> 7800x3d
for every 1 game that x3d benefits at high resolution theres 20 games that benefit if they got a better gpu first instead
considering zen 2 is pretty aged iād replace that first
yup, triple checked and re plugged, tried with different usb devices too, also tried charging
pardon me for looking at benchmarks and data instead of age as a reason for replacement
yeah even if they get a 5600x, I'd get that before the gpu
anything zen 3 really
the benchmarks and data would align with that though
.
This is very similar to the one I bought for my case that didn't have USB-C front panel at all.
https://www.amazon.ca/MZHOU-Motherboard-Extension-Internal-Charging/dp/B083FRW542
The USB 3.1 port interface is using the USB 3.0 pin set and more.It is design to be backwards compatible (will explain later). There are no official release of the specs for the USB 3.1 header yet (as of this writing), But first motherboard with this is the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS IX FORMULA,STR...
you mean the benchmarks using an rtx 5090 at 1080p?
thatās how you test cpus yes
this is quite literally exactly what i need lmao i just need the usbc to be a little more exposed and to be able to find this on aliexpress cz amazon doesnt ship here
The black housing around the USB C port was mostly just rubberized plastic, so you could trim away some of it with a sharp box cutter knife.
oh yeah sure that too
with a scalpel**
yeah fair enough, the 3060 probably wouldn't allow for the 3600X to be bottlenecking in enough cases for a cpu upgrade to make sense immediately
gpu first
Well thats sucks :c Guess I'll be paying for iCloud again once I got rid of this Synology diskstation
@rigid fjord they restocked + a big ass discount on everything ended up getting all of this for $130
Yee. Scalpel, box cutter, acetalene torch. Really, whatever you have lying around that's both sharp and sturdy.
Then might aswell go am5 soon as possible
i am having a hard time finding this on aliexpress for some reason
found this??
loads more expensive, and considering your GPU budget it isn't gonna do a whole lot for you to upgrade to AM5 now
what does this have to do with anything
I mean after gpu
buy gpu now, get new platform later is how i read it
if ur income isnt 0 or incredibly low its better to get the best gpu u can now since youll eventually earn enough to upgrade the cpu too
if the budget is exactly 400 forever then thats when it makes sense to do the get 5600/x+ midtier used gpu thing
noice though the cooler itself comes with mx-4/mx-6 tbh
this is male to male usb C
hmmge
yeah but i wanted that for some of my other projects
If I have income get a 5070 and upgrade later on and if 400 rn get a 5600x with a 7700xt ?
found this which could be of use but the usbc on my case is more exposed
kinda yeh
Not exactly double performance from a 3060
1.75x on 1440p, still pretty big
but ye u need to step up to 5070/4070S/7800xt tier for the 2x
Right so I think with some consideration what imma do is Iām going to just upgrade what I have, even though itāll be basically a whole new pc - imma get a new motherboard, imma get a new cpu for said motherboard, ram, and a new graphics card, and a new power supply, and Iāll keep the case and cooling
True 7800xt is very close to double performance and is about 70 more than the 5060ti
now that is a type E header for usb c to female usb c, and you could easily trim the sheating back to expose more of the usb c female if needs be
im guessing that these are universal and should work fine with my rm850?
iād double check
as an extension yeah it will work
extensions work on any psu bc they go on the output side of the cables which are standardized
if itās directly connected to the psu then iād double check it
Extensions should work fine, as they're just extending the end of an existing PSU cable. However, I would advise NOT extending PCIe power cables going to a GPU, especially if the end of the cable is using the Perfectly Never Catches Fire or Melts⢠12pin mini power connection for newer GPUs.
yeah im not planning on extending that because corsair just sent me a type4 cable for their psus to 12vhpwr so im fine with that plus i have the nitro+ 9070xt which hides the cables so it doesnt get seen at all, im just talking about the other cables in the system, CPU EPS & ATX 24P
Next generation of GPUs will just have a wall plug attached
i'd sooner use corsair's own premium cables instead tbh
yeah but theyre super more expensive and out of stock
70 series will require an appliance outlet
also out of stock LMAO
you only go for the starter kit not the pro kit
fair enough cz i only want the cpu eps and atx 24p
which is purely in the starter kit + 2 pcie cables
yeah i know
you could look for sellers of it near you
lol ur funny
dude is this stolenš like its way too cheap
or a scam
also true
yeah no its defintly a scam
lol, too big for my tiny hands
Just found 64gb ddr4 2400 LRDIMMs for $40 each
Thatās kinda a snag, considering 16x32gb is $380 cheapest I could find, 8x64gb is $320
how good are teamgroup ssds compared to other companies?
Howās this for price? Cad btw
Massive ass scam
You should mail them a pipe bomb /s
Lmao true
And the description says $3500
don't you all love when you are trying to record your computer crashing and it refuses to crash? Maybe it is camera cra-shy
It means you found the fix
i am willing to bet my livelihood that it will crash as soon as i stop recording
just pretend you're not looking
Get a secrutiy NAS or NVR, point camera at it 24/7. Solved
it crashed during my work hours today :v
thought of it, but it's a stress induced crash, it's a faulty gpu
raspi build with a camera and use that to monitor it
i am considering using my 3d printer's camera to record my usage until it finally crashes
it is connected to a headless laptop that probably has enough storage to do so
but it is mildly infuriating that i can't seem to replicate the right stress patterns to just straight up record it
threaten it with a sledge hammer, it'll start working properly again for you
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ARukaDFuYow it works with cars tbh
they say violence isn't the answer, because it's the solution instead
has there been any update on the 9800x3d + asrock boards issues?
how much you think my pc worth?

3 billion
Sooo?
1 usd is like a gazillion cad so do the math
hard to keep track oof the exchange rates at the moment
last i recalleed was around the 1.3 range
Iād sell the GPU for 1500?
so like 1200cad ish
thanks again. i have the insert and stuff ordereed. went with an lg drive though
Violence isn't the answer, it's the question. The answer is yes.
luckily those areent your gpu
I canāt afford that š
5070 cyclone
Pound?
i got this went a lil over budget but i think i done well cause it's brand new and i can have some room for upgrades in the future what we thinking?
I want to get this case the heat that comes from the rx7900xtx is ridiculous
that's sick, also yes GBP, did I over pay??
get the 9000d airflow
some questions about AI generated graphics...
a. Does the difference in architecture make that big of a difference? FSR 4 and FSR 3 seem miles apart but are only limited to the 9000 series cards which is out of my budget right now. Hearing all the rage and people talk about AI frames online makes me want to spend extra to buy it but I think its not worth it to go 200$ overbudget for that right?
b. Coming from a GTX 1060, do I need to know anything beforehand when turning it on?
also btw I got the ryzen 5600 i think instead of 5500 cause someone said 5500 is bad ahaha
5500 is that bad but 5600 is better even the ryzen 5 5600x is good I ran that with a rx6700xt
so overall you think i done good?
it's like a fuck load better than whatever this thing is hahaha
That moment when your cricket phone corrupts
Wat thing
wormm
meant to send this like 15 minutes ago but my puppy shat and got a we bit on the floor cause his pads are apparently not good enough hahaha
I just got a free (potentially dead) ssd from work
if its dead, turn it into a keychain
we dont need to know that, also stop using speccy.
Nah, im gonna see if i can get it working
obviously, but if it ends up being completely dead, might as well turn it into something cool
Nah, if it still dont work, im using it to prove a point to a wd glazer
i'm tempted to buy a dead LGA cpu and turn it into a keychain
is there any way to know how long Intel UHD Graphics 630 will maintain driver support?
you do ned to know that. he told me to tell you
Ask intel
so that's a no
but i feel like drivers for iGPUs are less important than drivers for dGPUs
You dont need to manually install igpu drivers
RTX 4060 or RX 7600XT what do you guys like more?
Neither
ideally neither
Even after your edit, neither
wow he chose overpaying for a prebuilt even though he was on a budget
true, but the question is how long it will receive updates
How are we supposed to know?
if we make enough gusses, one of them is bound to be correct
Thats like asking a dodo bird what the meaning to life the universe and everything is
doodoo bird
We cant know because none of us are the ceo of intel (afaik)
Huh
what me lmao, hell yeah, looked decent enough and was a lot less stressful hahah
our phone plans have a 5GB hotspot limit
Wtf ššš
you can bypass it using an app on android called PdaNet
because nobody needs a hotspot, we pay for unlimited data
then you dont overpay for extra hotspot data
Unlimited data means no limit, doesnt matter if you do hotspot or not
Thats false advertising
find me any isp that does that
no isp has truly unlimited data
My home Internet
My isp does
we're talking cellular
what is it
Telus
Unlimited then throttled speeds
Yeah, which is still unlimited
Throttled speed, by definition, are a type of limit. š Therefore, connections that throttle speeds after a certain amount of data cannot legally advertise their plans as "unlimited."
The throttle telus does to my phone is still like 500mbit
It actually doesnt even make a difference because my sim is too old
Give it a young blood transfusion
Same for my cellular data usage because my phone is from 2017. Doesn't even support VoLTE properly.
We dont even have that here
Fuck verison, and fuck at&t
im going off of this
You can get anything if you're willing to pay
Become the isp
So youāre going off of that when im literally the one who uses telus?
yes, youre 1 person, compared to the actual company
Alright alright, clam down. š Are we, perhaps, conflating Telus HOME internet vs Telus CELLULAR plans? Both are subject to different limitations and/or rules...
You may also be on a legacy/grandfathered plan
No thats cellular, its mentioned multiple times across the page
Probably
That might explain why its never slowed down after data maxes out
But i dont need to worry about data limits anymore
Iirc, my limit is like 250-300gb/month
The FUP is also likely seldom enforced
512Kbps is a standard throttle speed afaik everywhere
Its never been enforced for me
Just used to get a message, and that was it
Nope :)
Telstra and their MVNOs throttle mobile services to 1.5Mbps after a service exceeds it's data cap
lucky
@frigid blade wanna know the funny thing
what
Im pretty sure my isp doesnt even have a hotspot limit
maybe not ur plan
i just looked at the home page and the limit is written for each plan
Its a limit for the whole plan
Not for only hotspots
yah but that includes hotspots no?

Let's goooooo
If my plan is 50gb of 5g speeds, i can use 50gb of data however i want
what else would shareable data mean
Not cordless
@broken perch
@empty quartz
Theyāre not cableless
Just have a cable grommet to hide them
Gn fell the fuck off
ššš
Examples
Its like a dock for the fan. But you can literally take the fans out, and walk away with them spinning. I'd call that cableless
First I've seen it implemented this way. Just love seeing new tech become streamlined.
Not the first to do that
Corsair has had that for ages
Bro thatās like saying a charger is wireless because you can pull your phone out anytime while itās charging
@broken perch corsair did it better
Is cool tho
I just love seeing tech that was obscure, become more streamlined. Like the Back to Front motherboards for instance. The all in one front IO cables, lol.
To be fair, all cases should be giving all in one front IO cables now. I HATE even to this day, having those crappy little individual cables.
Moyai
-_- hate hard line cooling.... so much.
Works great. Looks great. Pain in the ass the build.
Why is it because it's hard?
This is clearly not hardline
Custom loop, however you wana word it.
There is a major difference between hard line watercooling, and soft tubing
Not really. It's still essentially the same just matters on the material. And the tools needed to do what you want with the line.
fix that sag yo
You might need to actually try watercooling your pc before you say something like this
Its still a line going from a pump / reservoir to radiator etc.
nonono they're quite different in terms of difficulty
hardline is much more difficult
and you need different tools too
@empty quartz I just realized you added an extra 4 in 69420, why would you do that
I literally jist said that
No you didnt
You said theyāre essentially the same
Im saying its the essentially the same in terms of performance. But the build you need different tools and parts obviouslly
you need something to heat the tubes, something to help you bend it, some sort of saw to cut the tubes, and something to deburr the tubes for hardline
meanwhile softline is just measure that shit and just snip it
oh did I mention that hardline is a lot more fucked to get the measurements right?
Dont even need proper tools, all you need is a sharp utility knife
Why would anyone do hardline over soft? Looks?
Im wording things improperly, thats on me. But yes, I meant that the performance is essentially the same. But the tools needed time and effort, cost etc obviously differ greatly
Basically
basically yeah
hardline when done well looks great
but tbh a shitty hardline build looks worse than softline
@broken perch whats so bad about a custom loop anyways
Iād like to water cool my pc but I wonāt need to, it will be all the way in the basement where itās like 60F base temp lol
Nothing bad about it. My original point was just the maintenance that goes into it. The points of failure. The cost associated etc etc
very few people need to watercool their PC
Well I have a 13900kf and 4090, thatās why I was thinking about it
Points of failure are caused by user error and negligence
meh
i think cost is my main gripe
Itās already liquid cooled, but Iāll be changing it to the server setup and donāt want water also because of thst
I donāt want a leak with 20 drives in the case
20 14+TB drives
Not true at all. You can be the best pc builder in the world. But if one teeny part is faulty, you might not realize until a week later when you have a small leak.
that's not really an issue
Donāt most pumps now have sensors for leaks?
Why do you have that much storage in your main system
Fucking idiot
Not yet, when I upgrade to server setup
You need to actually try watercooling before you say shit like this
if you properly test a loop before filling, then if it does leak it would be super slow
They are usualy based off pressure. So depending on the leak, it might not register until its too late.
hell, I let my PC leak for like, a month
because the leak was so slow that I couldn't find it and I couldn't be bothered to fix it
Wanna see the upgrade? @frail delta
I've built dozens of system liquid cooled my friend. I worded it incorrectly earlier. So dont act like a prick.
Not really, no
Part List - Intel Core i9-13900KF, GeForce RTX 4090, Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2 ATX Full Tower
custom looping is just not really sensible for a majorirty of people because you can usually go up a tier in performance for the same price
thatās why you get an air tester and let it sit for an hour, or even overnight, see the needle move, you have a leak somewhere
but if it's your hobby then like, go for it
unless the needle goes up, then you have a witch
Why is the upgrade using a 4 year old chip
most air testers tell you to do it for 15 minutes
Because thatās what I have now
Same thing as simple as choosing black parts vs white ones lol. Just looks. But you pay for that look unforunately.
you don't need to test for an hour much less a day
most air testers are bitches, do it for an hour
Mobo will be used so $200 instead of the $400
at least once, to see if a rad or something has a micro leak
subsequent leak tests can be less strenuous
Thereās nothing wrong with a 13900kf either I donāt need an upgrade
You can meme all you want. Just shows your immaturity.
that's a waste of time
Well, other than degrading
you're building a watertight system, not an airtight
But I did my bios update
If it works, isn't suffering from their issues, nothing wrong with it at all
there's quite the distinction there
The margin between the two isnāt all that wide
uh, no
tryna figure out if the laptop im using comes with 1 or 2 sticks
if you're that paranoid, then after you fill it you can leave the pump running overnight with the rest of the system powered off
im guessing 1 as its 8gb of ddr4
and if it leaks then, well it's not going to kill anything
download hwinfo and see what it says
but I really don't see the point in pressure testing it longer than the manufacturer suggested time
Pop off the back of it. What laptop is it?
especially since it's proably going to leak air anyways
no, it very much shouldnāt leak air
a well assembled loop should be air tight
dude you don't know what you're talking about, full stop
Does it have windows? It will say in task manager how many slots are being used
But what if its an air cooled system ... giggity
No.
Yes.
if youāre trying to claim the small amount of losses to material porosity makes it ānot air tightā then yeah, next to nothing is air tight
have you ever even built a custom loop?
i really don't think you know what you're talking about at all
Yes
How am i being immature?
Im just posting a gif to represent my opinion on your statement
if watercooled loops werenāt air tight, why does basically every major watercooling component vendor sell air test kits
because air leaks far easier than water, so if it's air tight enough after 15 minutes, then it should easily hold water
If im immature, youāre a newborn
dell g5
shit its 2 4gb sticks
so i need to buy 2 8gb sticks
Yar, no clue about your specific laptop. Hopefully its not soldered in, or behind the cpu / gpu cooler or something wonky.
alphacool: test for 15 minutes
But "typically" jist remove the few screws off the back, and you should easily be able to tell if you can replace the ram.@fickle ivy
You don't have to wait for a full hour, that's redudant
this is sorta my friends laptop
so i wanna see if i can get them to upgrade the ram and i pay for it
as i live with him
I mean. You can look up a video and see how easy it is. Some laptops are super easy to get into and tell.
and i wanna use it to make gaming content
Removing the back won't harm it. But again, id look up a video for the laptop. On one of my legions, simply removing 6 screws and I can easily remove the back.
Some are a nightmare to open, and or add remove hardware.
Itās not hard just donāt forget to organize the screws
And donāt lose them
My laptop is missing 4 screens
Thankfully all from different areas
As someone who works at a glorified apple repair center, i agree
Oh no I think windows is trying to update on a 512Kbps connection, I just installed it
Yup, and some screws are different sizes too.
Iām not even past the setup
Iām surprised this laptop doesnāt have an SSD when a 2 generation older one does
But yeah, pop off the back, and you can tell in 2 seconds if you can change out the ram. If the laptop is 5 years or younger, it probably allows you to swap out the ram. But still wont know until you Crack her open.
Most laptops within the last 2 decades have upgradable ram
it look slike it should be
Definitely, I have a laptop with 4600U and itās got upgradable ddr3 up to 16GB
You just love to argue. And no, they dont. Each company has their different tiers of laptop. And the lower ones almost never let you swap out ram.
Yah itās upgradable
The dimms are covered by plastic
I have laptops from 25 years ago and newer, and all of them are upgradable
Yup, that little black sheathe flips up. Or you can take it off entirelly.
I was just telling my parents that you know something is wrong when a laptop 2 generations better is being outperformed by a laptop 2 generations older running a heavier OS
Congrats? But no, it depends on the laptop really. You could have two legion 5s, and one is swappable, the other is not.
One night be 2 years old the other 1 year and is a different model
You got it mixed up
Companies have really only started soldering ram within the last 10 years
I canāt believe the older laptop had an SSD and the newer one had a HDD
I really dont. The problem with laptop manufacturers, one year difference on a model can make a huge change on what can be done or not done to it.
planned obsolescence is the trend rn
not rn, but past few years and onward
And like you said, a laptop from 10 years ago might allow you to add storage, ram etc. But a new model might only allow storage, and not ram, or vice versa
The difference is 2 generations, 4600U vs 6500U, they were both bought when the CPUs came out
As someone who browsed laptop options I can say 90% of the non gaming ones are soldered
aka most of the bunch being turned ewaste
Nah thatās not true, a lot of the dell latitude are not soldered
Personally, I wish companies would just make slightly thicker laptops so they can actually add someone decent cooling.
And those models are a lot of the market share
gaming laptop^
Help all my work is in the trash!
Those literally exist
Empty the trash :p
eh dont keep up with dell, they didnt offer any specs I wanted
I love a clean windows install, 2.3GB RAM idle
for the price range I had
Exactly. They keep going thinner and thinner on gaming laptops. I get some people travel with em, but the vast majority just toss it into a bag. An extra inch would give them so much extra room for cooling, and not make much of a difference in the travel department
I forget the name of the one laptop that came out in the early 2000's, but it was a THICK boi
they want to create thinner to challenge themselves and upsell even more fr
now nobody wants to carry a heavy ass gaming laptop
@broken perch i think i know something we can agree on
It wouldn't even add much more weight too. Would just be thicker. Still though, the pc world is just fubar at the moment with these prices.
im pretty sure we still have some decently bulky punchers
How thick? I wanna see if it is thicker than my mac
Like half inch to an inch at most. But it would allow a decent sized fan to make a massive difference.
I have you matched
My macbook pro is 0.98ā

@broken perch also, i do want to apologize, i was in a bitchy mood because i was hungry and had to deal with really dumb customers at work.
All good my friend. I dont take anything people say here to heart. I have a hard time getting thought into words at times and gets me into trouble more often then not. Case in point. But its all good.
Im still trying to find this beefy ass laptop from early 2000s, thing is like 3 inches thick.

ive seen people say that fast chargers degrades a phones battery much quicker, is this true?
If you charge to 100% and always leave it plugged in, yes, it can.
does that just go for all chargers?
Its the amount of battery cycles that kills the battery. And using a fast charger from 0-100% constantly does degrade it
Pretty much, it just degrades faster because of the speed its being charged. But we are talking something like .... if the phone on a normal charger would last 10 years the fast one might only let it get 8, or 9
Its negligible
Funny thing, using a fast charger isnt actually the issue
Its actually related to what percent you charge it to
Yeah, its just the cycles being put on the battery basically, and if you fully drain it
so basically no reason to use a slow vs fast unless you're wanting a tiny little bit more time
Like constantly draining the battery, and charging it to 100% is what will degrade it the fastest
Ive only put 40 cycles on my iphone 16 pro max since february
Proof:
Yup, and if you do a conservative mode on the phone / laptop, so ot only charges to 80%, etc, it helps prolong the life of the battery.
But these are all negligible.
I don't even know if mine says the cycle count.
i dont see that for me
Might need to enable developer mode, not sure.
As others have said, it's not so much the speed of charging - it's how low / high you charge it, and the heat. Tis why I avoid wireless charging in most situations, as it often increases heat generation compared to wired charging.
But yeah, my s23 ultra doesn't say. Im kind of curious what it would be at
therefore keep phone in fridge /s
I live in an extremely hot state it averages like 90+ everyday
and i forget i got a phone so its probably cooked
i actually have a usb fan pointing on my phone and charger brick when charging cuz both get hot asf
And fast charging generates more heat. But yeah, again, negligible. We talking weeks off the life span in the grand scheme of things.
2 years on my 14 pro, 80% health
i got the 11
But what kills them most is completely draining. Then fully charging.
its at 83 rn
while it's not the biggest factor to be concerned about (especially with normal 20-45W fast chargers), charge rate does increase degradation
For those who have Samsung, this is how you see battery cycles count i guess.
once you go above 3C (~45W on a 4Ahr 3.7V battery), it gets pretty bad

May have to ask
But it's also not just that you need a sufficient psu, but also a pcie slot that has enough power output for the gpu that will be used
While it's technically standardized at a max of 75W, only shitty OEM motherboards are likely to provide less than that
Thinkcentre m700...
I was thinking about getting GTX 1050 ti, but it's 75 watts while the pcie I heard was 30watts ish
Well my budget cant
Nah in Philippines the GTX 1650 go like one and a half of a GTX 1050 ti retail here
