Yo dudes I finished my new setup and moved my SSDS over to it and whatnot. I switched from Intel to AMD (CPU) and obviously have a totally different MB. My windows seems to not want to activate and when in troubleshooting I should get the option to select "recently got new hardware" but that's not coming up. I've tried booting from a flashdrive but that isn't working either. I'm at a loss here

yeah your license does not transfer over if too much hardware has changed, and a windows 11 install usb should work if you put it to the highest in the boot order

4:2:2 absolutely works, I'm running the newest driver myself. Not sure what the issue is to be honest. I would suggest downloading 576.02 from the website, downloading DDU, running DDU to rip the current driver out completely, rebooting and installing the newest driver

That’s good amount of ram, I’d just check its capacity and latency. The cpu is the best Am4 has to offer so changing that would just be basically building a new pc, so I wouldn’t bother. 2tb is great and the 990 is reliable, the 3080 is still a good card and honestly vram is gonna be your only issue but I don’t think it’s worth upgrading rn unless the games you play it need it.

Right now its between the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 14" (Ryzen 7 350, 32GB LPDDR5X, iGPU, 120hz OLED), the Lenovo Ideapad Slim 5 14" (Ryzen 7 350, 32GB SODIMM, iGPU, 60hz OLED) and the Acer Nitro V14 (Ryzen 7 8845HS, 64GB SODIMM, RTX4050, 120hz IPS).

I really wish I could get the newer Nitro V14 with the Ryzen 7 350 and 165hz display, but I don't see it for sale anywhere.

My current laptop had 16GB when I bought it back in 2018, but this past year I had to upgrade it to 64GB because my work needed a lot of concurrently running programs, and they sucked up a lot of RAM. I would have loved to be able to do this with a future laptop too.
