Main use will be solidworks, photo and video editing, website design and the odd gaming session.

Do I go biggest gpu I can get for the price as that's my best longevity option for gaming and AI crap or go the better cpu with better threading performance for solidworks and the extra efficiency from cpu and lower gpu are just a bonus? Will most likely be plugged in the wall majority of the time or worse case a couple of hours away from the wall so efficiency isn't a huge deal breaker.

So I was plugging in a USB-C cable into the back of my desktop and accidentally plugged it into a USB-A slot. Wasn't properly looking at the port and missed it since they're right beside one another.

Windows played the connected device notification sound.

So I didn't realize I had done anything wrong.

Once I noticed the device wasn't being recongized I unplugged it and realized what I did. Plugged it into the proper USB-C port and it worked fine.

Plugged up a USB-A device to the USB-A port, and it worked fine.

I didn't trip anything and the computer did not shut off at all.

I think I accidentally bridged the two data lines on a USB A 3.0 slot with the USB-C male line. So Windows triggered the USB connected notification sound.

Nothing seemed to get damaged. But I guess I missed the power lines so I avoided anything bad happening.
