Alrighty, let's see, another friend of my needs help with his PC, says it's crashing constantly even though he's reset it, downloaded drivers and deleted old ones, updated them, reseated everything, basically every common fix, I told him to check CPU paste, possibly overheating but no, low temps. I asked more questions but nothing.

He still says it's crashing or acting slow.

Keep in mind his build is DDR5 ram, an rtx 4090, and an Intel i9 13900k

Weird that something so high end would be acting up.

He's on a 13900k, if he's not an enthusiast or his heads under a rock, he may have a wildly outdated BIOS that's pushign that CPU way too far and/or a degraded CPU. This was and still is for people on launch BIOSes a major issue.

If the BIOS update and default settings doesn't fix it, its very possible his CPU is permanently damaged and may still be eligible for an RMA through Intel. This has been a huge story over he last year and a half with 13/14th gen.

unless you changed bios settings (and wrongly) its not drawing 300

especially in just a game

even stock my chip only hits like 120w in games sometimes more on the loading screen

unfortunately there isnt amazing ways to fix this quickly
