youll see the rated gpu boost clock at 83 degrees on almost any nvidia card
latency is the time it takes for everything in your pc to compute what's going on. low fps means it's taking longer for your gpu to render each frame, hence the higher latency with lower fps'. frame gen would make the end result look smoother but doesn't do anything to reduce the latency
thats where nv cards throttle below their advertised boost
i don't think my latency would be high with the hardware i'd have
Usually systems don't have latency problems unless running networked or something causes them.
I got it, so here what's am going through do, lasagna main dish, Cesar salad next to it, a homemade mango slush and prob a bit of feta cheese cuz why not with sum.olive oil to top it off,
latency is a very broad thing and can describe just about anything
frame gen doesnt care abt what you have, it still has to hold back the frame to generate the middle ones
No lol
how bad of latency are we talking about?
it's mainly dependent on the base frame rate you're upscaling from. you can have a 5090 but if you're trying to upscale from 1440p30fps to 8k120fps, the image will look sharp, it'll look smooth, but the moment you move your camera you'll realize it doesn't feel like 120fps
Upscaling only works flawlessly for video
You can never fake low latency on interactive media
That 120fps of fake frames gonna feel like you're using a 10 bucks wireless mouse
so never use fsr3 then, got it
frame gen works great if you're going from like ~50fps to higher frame rates. it's just that if you're fps is too low to begin with it doesn't really make for a good playing experience
just don't expect to turn 14fps into 140 and have it feel great
its hard to describe in words u kinda have to try it
everybody has a different tolerance for latency, so you should definitely try it for yourself and see what works best for you
the image looks smooth but u dont get the responsiveness of actual high fps
if i wanted to do 1080p ultra with raytracing i'd probably get 60fps max, but basically what you're saying is you wouldn't even bother with FSR3 in that instance?
just try cloud gaming with slow internet
Yes, lol, latency only becomes a problem if a regular system either is running suboptimally for some reason (be it software or hardware) or the network causes it, the latency inside a single properly programmed PC is negligible. One great example of this is frame generation itself, everyone who's trying these games with lots of fake frames is reporting the same thing, noticeable latency, the game runs at low frame rate, the fake frames are not responsive, they have no new data, therefore they are part of the latency gap causing latency, latency is a discrete effect.
fging 60 to 120 probably isnt too bad
if you're starting with 60fps, and the game isn't a competitive twitch shooter, it should feel fine
my standards are so low that i can tolerate fging 30 to 60
WOW
fair enough
does turning on RGB affect frame rate? or no?
yes
Nope
i assume its cyberpunk which isnt rly a superfast fps
RGB software makes fps worse
add me to that bottom answer bc neither have i
in my experience, it works best in single player games
If your pc can't handle it.
my pc pre dates RGB
real and true
Yeah, you get an FPS ding.
computer from before color tv's
at least i got more fps in forngith then 13400F+4060
Noice
on hwubs latest test xtx gets 55fps on cyberpunk rt ultra w quality fsr on 1440p (so its 1706x960)
if theyre dropping to 1080p ultra then fging that it probably wont be too bad
You know what i take upscaling over frame generation any day, at least every frame has new data, they should have focused on it.
real talk the rgb wont impact frames if your devices have their own memory to store it on, but a lot of rgb software and especially reaction lighting can cause unecessary performance overhead that you realistically wont notice unless you're comparing directly
Idk how people live with RGB, static color is best
those rainbow sharts look so tacky
the neat part about rgb is having options
i dont have any
Bc you can make your ARGB and RGB static if it's controllable.
Yeah but its just like a set and forget thing
well bc my monitor supports full RGB range so
just set it to a static color instead of having rainbow barf everywhere
looks like an eyesore
You know rgb is one of the smallest color spaces in use, right?
0 0 255 blue for maximum anti sleep effect
YES
there's other options too tho. my keyboard used to have a bonfire-esque animation that matched my case and aio
I can't pretend to understand what that means
fuck that circadian rythm
i do 255 0 0 24/7
reminding me i have to work in the morning
wtf
Basically RGB can represent x% of the real color space, other standards represent more %
okay i need new airpods max
And other restricted color spaces represent less
yes
yes
i have a bluetooth headset and when the mic works the sound quality is bad
is not being able to turn them off as big of an issue as people make it seem
do you turn off normal airpods?
Can you make it any redder?
not really no, it turns itself off in like 15 mins if you leave it alone
more paint yeah
anything that i can do to fix it
buy a new headset or a dedicated microphone
you put it in the case and they disconnect
Dude, that's the reddest lit PC i've ever seen, it's bizarrely red
but if you leave them out they also just disconnect
i ave a bluetooth headset
its red
in fact the airpods max case is one of the most blunderous pieces of engineering to exist
Wait, it is literally red? Like red paint?
some of the case is painted red
needs more red
if you take one out it disconnects until the sensor is convered and if you take out both they stay connected but you can turn them off
oh thats it
Noice, i always get full black, it's so bland.
if i make red = speed?
is it the price
Fun fact: Red light causes nightmares and hallucinations on long exposures if there's no other light sources
red means fast
nah not even
thank god
i need friends bro
i paid $225 for my airpods max used and theyre such good headphones i just have this issue now that they just stop working 20% of the time
True, i hate apple but the airpods max case is a work of art.
xmp my goat
nuhuh
Puts you in an endless day phase if you use it continuously.
my circadia has no rythm
sweat
yes
i take however much melatonin i need to sleep then set how many alarms it takes to wake up
ill kms before i ever mess with ram overclocking
krill issue
Melatonin doesn't work for me 😦 i need medicine
XMP xtrame mediocre profile
It sux
my entire computer is not stock™️
oh shit i need to change out my cpu tmrw
OC TO MOON
thanks for reminding me

overclock your psu
it's 50/50 for me atp. it used to be so bad i was taking like 80mg to fall asleep nightly but i got it back under control. but ever since daylight savings my sleep schedule has been getting worse again
if replacing the fan wiht a better one counts im gonna do that soon
while i have a great unit its older and the stock fan is some ballbearing junk
im avoiding taking more than necessary but regardless of how tired i get my brain wont shut down
overclock your ssd
That's still good, i take 100mg of quetiapine (not sure it's written like this) literally makes me fall to the ground if i don't lie down, that works.
pcie bclk 100.1, effectively overclocking my ssd by .1%
aint that motherboard
bclk used for ALL
the bclk influences the base clock of every device on the system as it is the base clock lol
pcie baseclock is specifically for PCIE based devices, so, nvme counts
overclock your bios chip
i did on my mothers pc
Can you OC the base clock and use a lower multiplier?
replace with bigger capacity
this wwould be stupid, but yes
it is useful in very very few scenarios and extreme overclocking is all of them
Interesting.
only worth it going for world recoerd
yes
True, but may become relevant if we need higher internal bandwidths for some reason.
most/all pcie devices will start to freak out past 103 bclk
your ssds will start dying extremely quickly past 103
gpus dont like past 103 but are generally much tolerable to it
IT KILLS SSDs?
lets asy i not stable at 46ratio bt 45 works try 45 wiw 101bclk for 45mhz more
bro its the base clock of your system
can
it is the timer in which everything is influenced, you can assume speeding it up wwill affect SOMETHING
Damn, base clock is the OG of the clocks.
your cpu, ram, pcie, etc clock are all based off that
thats how ratios exist, 43*100(base clock speed)
=4.3ghz
Even sata?
my cpu agt 42*100mhz
yes sicne chipset is runs of bclk
sata uses pcie lanes just like everything else
Interesting.
i remember reading an article waaaaaaay back when about this guy kept burning through CPUs by overclocking them too much so he bought a much higher tier cpu and underclocked it to about the bottleneck limit of his GPU and he never had a problem with it
if he was "burning through cpus" he was overclocking incorrectly
but why?
this is when you have to take an overall look at the process and think "why are they dying"
and then fix it
oh absolutely, but it's an incredibly interesting solution
So our computers are all bottlenecked because companies keep the base clock low instead of engineering for a high base clock that enables our processors to get closer to the tb/s they can actually pull, interesting.
so you dont spend exorbitant amounts of money
?
does underclocking a CPU really extend the life of it?
@azure topaz welp I've made a decision on a case for the LGA 1851 build
Btw most processors can read close to 2tb/s from cache.
not realy
big nas?
not mine
i was talking about this yesterday but computer lifespan is something to forget exists
for all intents and purposes every computer will be useless before the silicon degrades to no function
your gpu will be functionally useless long before it decays into a brick
there is silicon from the 80s functioning perfectly
The read speeds of L1 (if i'm not mistaken) cache are around that. It's so fast ram reads can't possibly overwhelm it
and?
/ there are other things to worry about breaking (ex: storage) long before the actual processor
My GPU pls hold on 😭🙏
And we all have bottlenecks because those read speeds don't translate to real performance because we can't possibly feed the processor enough data to supply it's maximum input due to bandwith limits.
Well it's the case that Guilty has
if anyones awake, Im building my first pc but im running into an issue installing my gpu where it looks like the red devil 9070xt is the wrong way around to fit into the case
L1 ment to get data with in like 1 or 2 clocks for a single core L2 is larger but not as fast L3 is for all cores and way larger
are the fans supposed to be pointing downwards? becaues thats the only way I can get it work
hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Sure, bud, but you're not getting my point, the point is that the processor could pull more data and the bus doesn't even come close to it.
RUN pyprime as send score
speed
and uhhh 1b
No wonder your pc's red.
its fast
It truly is.
and cb23 for fun
👏🏻
i need better then stock 4790k
what chip?
4790k
ah ah
and my 7900x3d absolutely annihilating my 13900ks cause it has AVX512
ran a few tims 8.438s
ycrunch? or superpi
super pi
ah ah nice nice
damn my hp240 wworkstation has a 450w 80+ platinum psu
and my dell actual server/workstation has a 425w 80+ gold
#scammed
i assume dell wouldn’t lie about what PSU they are giving people
mini neutron bomb
and hp would? im confused
well either of them
the point was that the dell is a higher class machine and has a worse rated power supply lol
just a silly
i guess
guys my laptop reached a max of 101°C on my CPU what do i do
fry an egg on it
@azure topaz what u think of music
seven
i didnt know hp made mugs, memory books, calanders and cards??
well IMAX has socks and postcards n hoodies
I have a couple HP pens :)
LOLL
There’s def some filler on there but it was a enjoyable album
Kdot went crazy on good credit
what should i do with my old ryzen athlon desktop? its probably not able to power-on but maybe it wlll b a fun project to clean it up and get it runni\ng normally
ya itll have wlr effect
try cooking up a steak
yes
Would it still cool
yes
Okay thanks
but make sure the intake direction is toward the radiator
It sucks away from the radiator
Highkey
Guys i installed new ram and i have a cpu debug light
It's probably doing memory training, first start?
Yes
When i reinstalled my old ram it works fine and boots immediately
ok, in simple terms, what is a DCP watchdog violation
Memory training, just wait and it'll end
Overheating cpu
something is unstable
Unless the ram is not in working order.
damn laptops. . .
probably not, its just a sign of general system instability
I took it from another pc
alright guess ill lower max temp to 85
still will help my hands from sweating
Well, put it in, start the pc and wait a few minutes, larger memory tales longer.
Even with a cpu debug light?
and/or where is it lmao
20 should make sure, if it doesn't become able to start after that the ram is either janked or has poor contact.
Ah nvm it posts now
bro instead of chasing nothing id try a windows reinstall rather than trying to fix whats acctually going wrong in windows 😭
See, it was training, it probably turns the debug light on.
it does
Never noticed it before.
But i put it in and out many times and restarted and tried with other RAM
It probably finished training at some point.
so your first idea, instead of seeing what the issue is, is to do the step that quite literally takes the longest and is the most disruptive
Wait, it booted into the bios. I just continued and now it’s a black screen.
No debug light
youve been looking at this issue for like, weeks, a windows reinstall takes fucking 4 hours and that includes getting software back
Well, check the bios in the ram, it should state the ram.
I does but i proceeded and now its a black screeb
Tf do you mean weeks?? im not even talking about my damn gpu. im talking about my Laptop
Wait, you got a black screen IN THE BIOS?
the laptop that you were having issues with last week and i told you to ddu?
also in what world does a windows install take 4 hours lmfao
was an Entirely different error
No i pressed leave bios and it didnt post but now i turned it off n restarted and it works fine now
Great, if it doesn't check the ram page in the bios itself, prehaps it doesn't have an internal clock stater.
an unstable computer is an unstable computer, past a certain point its worth it to just reinstall windows rather than spend hours researcching something
usually will fix most issues, if not, its a hardware problem
the other error i was video tdr something because of windows trying to use my graphics card while its disabled
Now i have a DIFFERENT bluescreen that just happened
like, what is hard to understand about this
okay but youre not seeing my point i dont care that its different 😭
Quick question. Do I need thermal pads on both sides of my ram, swapping to new ram and it had dimms on both side
Just get your data out and reset, fr.
nevermind, its like talking to a brick wall with you
a computer that is bluescreening is a computer that is bluescreening
no, you are the brick wall who refuses to try actual fixes when someone tries helping you, it took you like 30 minutes just to try a ddu when you were asking for help bro
Actually dimms don't actually need cooling at all, they do it mostly for looks, unless we're talking oc memory.
reinstalling windows isnt an automatic magical fix for everything
it kind of is though... lol
It literally is unless you have a firmware issue.
Hm ok so I should be fine with one side having it and one side not
if its not a hardware problem, its a wwindows problem, if something is fucked up in windows, reinstalling it fixes it.
If you think it is then i feel bad for anyone in this server you have tried to help
Sure but if there are chips on both you should put on both.
Just for balance.
Shoot my current thermal pads are too thick
Too thick is tough.
If I were to put two
Too wide we cut, too thick is complex.
I might order thinner but that puts my pc on service for a day or two
Two?
😭 okay man, other people here would advise you the same thing
Buddy, use it the way it is, buy the pads, put them in later, a couple of days aren't a problem if you're not planning on OCing them.
"oh hey an error that we dont know the actual cause of, however we can find that cause my looking at dump files, lets just reinstall windows instead and hope it fixes the problem"
It’s just doing it for the looks lol
like, you see how dumb that sounds

That then brings up another problem what thickness do I get…
okay man
why reinstall windows when we can actually LOOK at whats causing the problem to begin with
True but makes the status of the pc "in service" instead of a maintenance timeout until you get the pads.
the issue is that the problem is very generic, and there are not very many people who have the skills to read a minidump and actually tell whats going wrong
Because sometimes it isn't worth it.
so rather than chasing leads that dont exist/are a wild goosechase with a million causes
its easier to just, reinstall windows because that will fix it
agree for me at least if I cannot solve it within an hour then I am nuking the installation without question.
the minidump files, the files specifically made to show the exact cause of the problem at hand
the files that you dont fucking know how to even open let alone read bro
and instead, you just want to do a generic ass solution that might not even be the problem
thats why i asked how to read them
a generic solution that has never not worked if it wasnt a hardware or pre-packed driver problem 😭
Seconded, over an hour spent on critical software troubleshooting is an absolute waste of time if you can quickly reinstall safely.
Got it got it, the thickness of my current ones is 1.5 so I gotta get .75 thickness right?
if it takes days of research, or hours of research may as well spend that time doing something you know is going to work
it is literally that simple
actual brick wall, my god
You should use the same thickness and model on both sides, if 1.5 makes the other side touch the shield it's 0.75
😭
ok so its just laziness
what more do you want from me bro you got like 4 people agreeing with me
Gotcha hopefully it’s a available thickness
yeah totally
we're all just a whole bunch of lazy people who dont want to spend time fixing anything
instead of finding the issue, whats causing it, or how to fix it, you just decide to reinstall windows, hope it works, and deal with issues later
because the issue is not worth fixing manually
Ain't nobody got time to teach you such an obscure and complex skill, google it or stop wasting everyone's time including your own.
why do you want to take more time to do the same thing
so it actually gets f i x e d
perhaps even, the same thing but worse
Don't forget they're kinda squishy.
that is the fucking thing here yo, it gets fixed either way
So you have some tolerance.
Yea the closest they have is either .5 or 1.0
if there is a file meseed up somewhere thats needs repairing, a windows install will fix it
if there is something that needs to be reinstalled, a windows reinstall will fix it
I'm preety sure dimms use 1.0 usually.
Also a solution I was using alot when my moms work had me working with them for a year. If it got bad enough but I used it wayy too often lol.
Gotcha I’ll get that then
if it takes more than an hour its generally not worth chasing the fix for
I mean, try getting a 1mm shim or at least check with a ruler
directly after saying windows takes 4 hours to install
because more times than not it takes longer to find and apply the fix than just quickly doing a windows reinstall
in the worst case <3
brother i can get my computer from no os to playing games with my friends in about an hour
4 hours for windows, what is the worst case here? windows 11 on a 5000 rpm hard drive? lmfao
Windows doesn't (usually) take 4h to install and the time you spend resetting windows is at least sure to fix the problem
that is what worst means lol
fair enough lmao
i also said including programs
so also factoring slow internet it could take a while i get it
but if thats not a factor
its not a factor
thats fair i guess
from a floopy disk
oh god
I think it would take longer
i also think it would take longer LOL
Any specific brand I should get for thermal pads on Amazon?
Way longer, even for win 10
i think it would take longer just to do the action of swapping between all like 2 million floppies it would take up
like just the action of "please put disk 4 into the reader"
eh whatever, that particular error only happened once so ill just leave it for now
Don't get phase change pads, get regular pads with high conductivity (>10)
happens again anytime soon ill actually look into it
also probably fine, if its not a persistent issue its prolly just a fluke
i thought this was a more persistent issue like more than once
first times its ever happened on this laptop at least
only bluescreens i ever get are the video TDR timeouts lmao
i figure youve owned it for at least a bit so
Just check the pad's specs for conductivity and don't buy crazy chinese brands with no reviews.
Gotcha
since last june
is it on the manufacturer windows version?
Thermalright has some but it’s a big sheet and I already hate messing with thermal pads…
no thats just the video tdr timeouts
yeah, havent reinstalled anything
Btw there's this crazy pcm pad that replaces good thermal paste and you never have to change it (good for pcs you never intend to swap the CPU of)
the only actual change i did to windows was going into registries and disabling all the copilot bullshit
i mean yeah if you end up with more persistent bluescreens its probably worth it to back things up and do it over anyways
the method
i do a lot of shit to my windows install but none of them are stupid fuckin debloat scripts
me looking at the NPU on task manager being 0% usage at all times
no microsoft account, no one drive, no anaylitics, no preinstalled programs
lmfao
Or should I get .5 thickness and stack it:….
Don't stack pads, each interface is less conductivity
is it ddr4? if its ddr4 thats even more of a reason not to care
unless your overclocking THAT much, it should be fine without one
But I got these heatsinks for a reason I need da lookssss it’s ddr5
you can buy 1mm/1.5mm pads its no biggie
If you're gonna have the trouble to do it do it with the best performance, double interface, not triple.
Yea I’m just trying to find one that isn’t annoying
if your dimms are dual sided you should easily get away with 1mm pads
just get a big sheet and keep it around, 1mm is a common thickness to need
Floppa how hard actually IS it to read dump files though? lmao
Yeah, seconded, as i said, they're squishy
Screw it I’ll get a big sheet and deal with cutting it
Hi guys, what type of frames should I be expecting? If I play Fortnite on performance settings with a Ryzen 5 7500 F and a AMD RX 7800 XT
i have no idea, im sure someone doing actual windows development could with ease, or someone just smarter than me, but i odnt think its a common skilll lol
Yeah, man, always get the big sheet
fair enough
kind of why i dont think trying to find a way to read them would end up any good
i do need to figure out these tdr timeouts, shits getting annoying when i go between classes
It's cheaper, never goes bad if properly stored and you can cut it to size for ANY cooling need what you got covers.
anything in the bios about the gpu? or naw
yeah exactly
idk, havent actually opened the bios on this laptop like, at all lmao
just cut it out and leave it in a shelf at the top of your closet in the bag it came in
havent had a reason too 🤣
Yeah, should be fresh enough, sealed bag if moisture is an issue
usually they come in sealed bags so
Yea sadly there’s not any that’s 120 long so I think I’m going to have to get two sheets worth and use a small chunk to cover the rest
i got some generic thermalright OEM pads and theyre nice and in a bag
Yeah, even the manufacturers usually use more than one pad for dimms.
Just not stacked, never stacked
yeah, 1 for each set of chips on either side of the dimm
someitmes theyre weird and mega long but you see that on DDR5, not DDR4
because DDR5 has the power delivery on dimm
i also need to figure out what is up with these xfx cards
2 sheets of 200mm x 100 screw it
No, more than that, sometimes they don't have the big pads so they put in split pads, it's not an issue, most people never even notice.
Just put the seam over empty space and it's ok.
Ok thank yall ill just stick with my old ram until the new pads arrive
In fact cutting precise quadrilateral shapes that cover each chip works just as well, what matters is the chips interfacing with the shield.
Don’t feel like taking them apparent anyways
I hate disassembling those.
Dimms with screws are nice
lol those are aftermarket
Most have none.
those didnt either lol
performance computer
probably not as effective, these are actually waterblocks lol
Those look like you accidentally dripped paint all over them and tried to make into a ram sandwich
lol yeah it took some cleaning when i was done putting them togehter 💀
Use rubbery alcohol
yes i know
Buddy, where's the H2O?
so the top bit has a place to screw on the real block of the block
Oh
so if there was an rgb version it would make that part of it worse but im sure you could find something aftermarket that has rgb yeah
Man, honestly, makes no difference, just costs more, we can stick rgb into anything.
makes a difference if you actually need the dimm cooling lol
No, you can have the exact same cooler with a couple of ARGB strips embedded, it's not that hard.
A header here, a couple of LEDs there and voila
I really liked this design, seems to catch the dimms well
Could be improved, ofc, but it is really nice.
the brand of heatsinks/waterblock i have is pretty terrible yes, there are other brands that are similar looking that perform and look better
Interesting, but honestly that seems like enough to stabilize ram
i can keep a good temperature until i go above like 1.76 volts
well, more like 1.7 ill say
Oh, you're overvolting it, yeah, that's hardcore
I mean you could just run tem with insane XPG profiles...
Makes them hot too.
I don't consider it actual oc.
Guys how do j make my website appear on google searches
XMP you mean? yeah, but manually overclocking is way faster, XMP is very lax on all the timings
Yeah, unless the ram is pre-checked for XMP and has the exact profiles embedded, then it's instant
Should I even try to oc on my gskill flare x5 ram?
probably not
I got them as a upgrade since it was 64gb for $90 lol
if youre asking that, no
lol you’re right
but if you want to learn sure go ahead its fun
I kinda do but I’ve attempted it before on drr4 and it’s so tedious
but like as a general recommendation for a better computer? no
yes sir
my computer has been tested for 24 hours straight before i call it stable :)
😭
It's hardly worth it, honestly, RAM runs better without high overvolted OCs.
dub
2/3 so far, just need to get to undervolting my gpu
Does anyone know if vengeance shields are actually any good at cooling?
everything in my computer is at just about the edge of what i can get away with
assume no stock memory heatspreader is good.
Heck yea
they are all universally pretty bad
I got 5200 rgb vengeance but i want to oc it to at least 6400
especially if you have rgb
Floppa u listen to uk underground?
I mean, there is vengeance with the same shield that runs at 6400 out of the box.
the extra power draw of those LEDs really increases the dimm temperature
I’m not insanely tapped in but I like alot of the artist coming up
That's a joke, right?
i mean yes, temps arent that much of an issue
no lol, stock heatsinks when i had the RGB on, the SPD temp increased ~10c
it seems like a joke but when you realise the LEDs on those dimms draw as much as the ic's themself...
i mean like, gamers
It's just a ram stick
Oh yea is it normal for one gpu fan to be spinning on under load?
Like jesus, do you need that much luminosity?
okay well at least like 50% of the ic's wattage, at least a signficiant amount, you get it
Just got discord fire fox and Spotify up but only one fan is spinning which I find kinda odd
i mean it is odd but some gpus are like that yea
what fan is it, curious
im guessing far right
The most left?
okay so the core fan, yes that makes sense
Probably right since mines flipped lol
If it ramps up and the rest start is ok, just means the middle fan has a steeper curve.
you havea fancy card with 3 fan controllers, goated
okay so the far right which also makes sense cause thats where the heat goes on the heatsink
wow physics
still a fancy card
Ahh ok lol was overthinking it
Fan controllers are internal to the GPUs, if it can have different curves on each it means it has individual control lanes.
It is good.
Love my pc but I can’t wait to swap aio just because 😭
Woah that sound scary
and get a board with 1dpc
I just got mine but idk if i like it bc the PSU is late
when you need more cooling performance but you already have a good cooler there is really only one way..
Eh I don't fuck with DD though that's just me
Lmao
Boy, that's a TIGHT case, in both senses
I love it tho it was so annoying but so rewarding to build
delidding, getting rid of the indium based solder and replacing it with conductonaut makes the thermal interface to the ihs both thinner and more effective
Which is a surprise to some considering most of the builds I do
Are you using high flow high pressure fans or something? It seems quite restrictive
Yea using the best fans possible, air slimmer and t30
so even delidding, then just setting the IHS back on top of the chip (without ANY seal or anything, just plop it) still works to drop temps by an easy 15c
Noice
and a contact frame is dope and ensures your ihs is in the right spot as well
I got this 8 heatpipe air cooler, i never go past 70, on any load without OC.
uhhhh
in day to day use my chip does not get warm
in benchmarking for scores it gets very warm
Is it OCed?
yes lol
Nice, it makes sense then.
Mine never got hot because i kept it at stock, it's really nice how low your averages can be with a high watt cooler on a low watt CPU
i mean if im just playing games or really doing anyhting i do on my computer it wont really go above like 70 so
Nice, and that's with an OC, really nice.
The two only reasons I do the builds I do are primarily for these reasons:
- I simply can
- It looks cool
fair fair, i just like doing the most to my hardware
i dailied a shunted 3080 for a long ass time
Floppa should open a custom OC build business, you'd be flappa then, flappin all the bills of the profits, buddy, honestly, 70 average with that tight a system in heavy gaming loads with OC is like truly impressive.
What's the differences between PBO stock and enhanced on a 9800x3d?
the 3080's best score, top 66 out of all lhr 3080s in timespy
Without custom voltage controller or with?
without, stock cooling
NOICE
PBO eats up to 140w max
9800x3d stock is like 120w
I came from a 13700k, nothing scares me in terms of cpu power draw
Cya guys, it's 5:20 here
yea any1 coming from intel’s 13th n 14th gen wont be scared, 253w stock i9
not stock configuration>
Yeh though more than half of folks in the custom WC communities will say the same thing. It's become more of a hobby and even an art form nowadays. It's also seeing a decent rise of new members too

oc is returning
Why is this?
well youre making the thickness of the thermal interface go down
and youre replacing the thermal interface with something thats just flat out better in the first place
(liquid metal)
its not neccessary to glue the ihs back on (and again, this adds thickness)
so you can just leave it, the ILM/your contact frame will hold it in place
I’d just use the pressure of the cooler if it’s fine
exactly
my pc isnt supposed to sound like a washing machine right
i just had a schizo moment where i thought something was unplugged from my PC
Depends
yeah LEDs dont affect performance that much
depending on how your AIO is mounted yes
It’s weird because it just started occurring
Can u show ur radiator
It came along with some weird buzzing noise in my headphones
I plugged in a usb webcam and all this started happening including my pc bluescreening
Hmm
Did u try unplugging the cam and uninstalling the driver of the cam? Did u check device manager for any faults?
Here's what I made an autograph on my tablet!
Ew ai
What??
😭
I’m trying to help here
Disconnect the USB webcam immediately and observe whether the AIO returns to normal operation.
• Inspect your USB ports and cables for any visible damage or loose connections.
• Review your Windows Event Viewer logs around the blue screen time to see if any USB or hardware errors are reported.
• Update your system BIOS and all drivers (especially USB and any AIO-related software).
• If possible, test the webcam on another computer to rule out a defective device.
• If the problem persists, consider contacting the AIO manufacturer’s support or checking for warranty options, as this behavior might indicate an impending cooler failure.
Addressing these points should help pinpoint whether it’s a faulty USB device, a power issue, or a sign of failing cooler hardware.
Try this if u can
Acting like I haven’t already unplugged the usb
Im thinking of getting an android auto headunit for the car, any suggestions on what one as theres loads
its just either coil whine or fan resonance
I haven’t read it all, but usb doesn’t make noise
chatgpt ahh answer
But hey don’t take my advice
I mean the cam worked fine on my other pc and didn’t cause any issues
There is a possibility that if u aio was already a bit on the bad side and one lil surge could have made it worse
Its just a windows moment
I’m hearing his pump make weird noises aswell
Its not going to be long before its stops working
Usb power surges do not effect other components
because if it did youd turn ur board into a sophisticated paperweight
It could if the aio is connected to the motherboard
hey yall, i’m trying to decide whether or not to upgrade. How much of a difference would I notice if I upgraded from a 2070 super to something like a 4060
And thats always the case
I am sorry but isn't 228W on a 420W PSU fucking ABSYMAL
Power irregularaties can make irregularities over ur ports
why is intel iGPU driver package being 830 MB in size???
This really faint scratching noise is really what’s scaring me
If thats sounds fine to u?
The wonders of nzxt aios
It doesn’t thats windows alright 😂😂😂
on avg its around like +10% perf
unless u really really want frame gen try to get something better imo
And there’s very minimal load on the cpu
Mine never sounded like that
The bluescreens were windows fault
Ofc
the aio is doing aio things
this is why we dont recommend nzxt aio
$300 aio that loses to $90 ones and that $210 difference gets u a 2 inch screen that u cant even fully chose what to show can afford you an entire 1440p monitor instead
i mean it's bigger than nvidia driver package
theres no cause, other than flaming people for buying the worst aio you possibly could get
yes
It’s a prebuilt built but ya
If my cooler would sound like that I’d def change it
i’m just looking for an upgrade. Been using the 2070 super for 5 years pretty hard. So figured it was time to get an upgrade
well 4060 is too little of an upgrade
also whats wrong with using it for 5 years
there are people on the same pc for 15 years
@steel umbra https://www.takealot.com/patriot-viper-steel-ddr4-16gb-2x8gb-3600mhz-kit/PLID94927739
any recs at about the same price?
if anything be proud that u got a lot of value out of it
With the current prices its not worth it
i play gtav with quite a bit of mods. I only get lime 60 fps
and 4060 will get you 66 fps
aim for something better
Jup
so I want to upgrade to something better. Have any suggestions? I have a Ryzen 5 7600x and 32gb of DDR5 ram
Yea man idk it just definitely doesn’t seem normal especially the fact that it wasn’t happening a few days ago
I play 1080p
When in doubt change it would be my approach 😂
Hey guys I am trying to unlock the bootloader of a redmi device but I am facing some issues, can anyone help me?
not looking to spend like 1,000 dollars either. Looking to spend like $600-$700
Well if u play on 1080 look for a second hand 2080super or maybe like a amd 6600xt or a 3060ti
That would be okay
But choosing a card with more then 12gb would be advisable if u want to play future games
Yea that would be cool but I don’t got money to just go out and buy a new cpu cooler lol
would that be a sizeable difference? going from a 2070 super to a 2080 super?
Cheaper and less prone to faults
I have a 2080super in my second build
And its still playing all my games just fine
Its a big jump in performance
do i buy this, sorry if someone responded already and i didint see it
Is this a possibility?
still no
current phone samsung galaxy a6
its marginally better than 4060
congrats, youll get +11% instead of 10%
11% is maybe what he’s looking for?
U can’t presume a bigger jump if u don’t want to pay a premium
theyre the kind of guy who is unsatisfied with 60fps, you think theyll be fine with 67 fps?
My 2080 super still provides good fps in games like cyberpunk even
@fresh patrol will you be fine with spending allat money (that u dont have a lot of apparently) to turn ur 60fps to 67
So why wouldn’t it help with gya 😂😂
Sorry we are talking more like 120-150 fps
Ewo check youtube 2080super 1080p benchmarks
You’ll see its a bigger jump then u may think
they have a 2070 super
no
Thats a bench of 2080super in gta ultra settings
Would u be ok with these kinds of fps?
and? the 2070 super already gets 90% of that

is english not your primary language
He’s saying he has 60 ?
i get around 60-70fps rn with like high settings and graphics n textures mods
that is a on device issue then
most people who make videos like that tend to have a CLEAN computer
and "upgrading" to 2080super wont improve that much too bc it still has 8gb vram
I have those fps’s with mine
anyways a rtx 3070 would be miles better
but the best would be something like a rx 7800 xt or rx 9070 xt
Same gen GPU upgrades never makes sense
up to what cpu he has
what fps you get with ur 2080 super is irrelevant because 2070super will just be 90% of that
10% is too little of an upgrade to spend an entire new gpu on especially for a guy who expressed that they dont have a lot of money
Thats what I said but he is on a budget
so not worth it to go 3050 6GB to 3090
Thats his choice
thats even more fucking reason to get something better than a 10% upgrade
What kind of bump he wants
imagine spending all ur money that u dont have a lot of to go from 60 to 66 fucking fps
Omg he is not 😂😂
he is
only
theyre not gonna go from 60fps to 140fps
For my kids
its the same generation gpu
with the same vram
weak, i have a 7900 XTX, rtx 2080, HAD rtx 3060 and so on and so forth
i got a better gpu for raster
Fine*
so is my rtx 2070 in my laptop
@tidal geyser I am sorry but you have to suffer this stupidity with me
Said friend I told you about, who was using an R5 1600 with a GT 730 and IED 420W PSU (228W on 12V line) just told me that he wanted to use the remaining 20 euros after buying a 1050ti on WAR THUNDER 💔
you know the guy is using graphics mods making the game harder to run right?...
I told him to either keep it or buy a better drive
2080 super is fine for you
is it fine for them to buy a whole new gpu with money they barely have to get a 10% upgrade over their 2070 super?
everyday i spend,i wonder hwo things wouldve been different if sim wouldve kept his BUSH💔💔
But he wants to spend it on war thunder 💔
notice that you are not them
I am going to bash my skull in he's so stupid 💔💔💔
well its his money
He complains about how shit the game runs on his PC yet refuses to upgrade right
What i’m saying its his choice
And whenever he crashes or frame drops, guess who he'll complain too lol
the high fps ur getting in base game is irrelevant
if ur getting 140 fps itll be in the 120-130s too if u had a 2070 super instead on the same pc
He needs to choose whats best for him a small upgrade or a bigger upgrade save or spend what u have now
you seem to be under the mistake that theyre gonna go from 60fps (because theyre playing with mods) to 140fps (on your unmodded base game)
To be honest even a cpu upgrade could give more fps on that res
lmfao they have a 7600x
Also a cheaper optiok
that is what they have
the only upgrades they can make is 7800x3d or 9800x3d
7600x is a 6core
nope
cool?
i was just looking for some recommendations, ian think it was gone be this big of a thing
a i9 14900k is 8 core
*during gaming
and i want you to look at the prices of these lmao
5700x3d?
what is your budget
WHAT????????
I’d hope to spend between like 400-700 but can go over

its worse then the 7600x in gaming overall
and you already have the entire build, but ONLY looking for a gpu upgrade?
the pcs already completely built and has been being used for the last like year. Just looking to get a new GPU and swap them out basically
whats the best panel that isn’t OLED
If any of you are NAS nerds then hmu here https://discord.com/channels/375436620578684930/1350403400122105896
are you in the US
yea
new market is shite rn
try to score a used 3080/6800xt or something
OLEDs do not burn in anymore really
tbh i might wanna wait a month or two and look for a 9070 XT
just the one i seen is £570 and my friend dont wanna spend that
Gimme hex codes
Nope
there are some 7800xts are $650 but thats pushing it
and they used to be common at 450 lmao
so why not ask best monitor on a budget
friend recommended a 7900xtx or 6750xt
source?
7900 XTX is like 900$+
yes lol
in cache dependent games it only MATCHES ryzen 7000 non x3d
but in non cache dependent games, its last gen AND slashed clock speed kill it
guess the gpu
yea that’s what someone else said. Just wait and try to get a 9070
he just wants 1440p and 240hz
An old one?
are you in the US
IPS
what about TN
sad
yes
@fresh patrol do u live near any micro center
what would be the difference if I got a 7900xtx compared to now
yeah forgot you used pound earlier
I'd avoid TN if at all possible
nope, closest is like hours away
XTX is faster in raster but 9070 xt is WAY faster in RT and has a way better upscaler
isn't it AMD's top of the line GPU?
okay whats a solid choice for a 1440p ips 240hz
- can your psu handle it
- its around +93% perf so double ig
I have a 3ds with a TN top screen, it's fine
pretty sure it can
Which is mostly open world games right?
yeah IPS would've been better
I for some reason wanna say my PC has like an 800watt power supply or something
find out
i’m like 90% sure it’s 800w
3ds is small enough that the way you hold it and the angles you view it the downside of TN isnt much noticeable
not the case with a monitor
Comparing apples to apricots
find out now
You have to be hundred
still, I'd have preferred one with ips on both screens
i say this as an asian cheepskate guy who has 2 tn monitors bc it was free/dirt cheap
even i dont like it
I don't understand why Nintendo manufactured and approved something with two different display technologies, on the same device
i do
its due to availability
I just bought a g8 oddysey oled its a beauty
yeah but this diminishes the value of their products and their company image
yea it’s 800w
are they fine with that?
yes
what model
I even feel like its better then my lg c3 in image quality
doesn’t have like any branding on it
pic
why does it matter the brand?
it does not
i am trying to find the product
i have seen too many PSUs said to be like 1KW but then turn out to be utter trash
cuz sim is trying to find what psu you have
i could buy one for 20 bucks :P
i can’t figure it out, and I can’t take it out
both sides are black and unmarked, only thing is a like barcode on the back
is this a prebuilt computer
info is probs on the top
yo is it rlly that bad if i get a 9070xt from a scalper for 1200$ cad
cus i think with tax its basically 1100$
yea not doing all that. Going off it being an 800w like 80 Gold PSU
but F tier
mmmmm yes
as in bad to buy or go for it
both
i really don’t know PCs like that so I don’t understand
i mean ill try talking him down to at minimum 1150 so he breaks even
he seems desperate he alr dropped the price
from 1300
the powersupply can be built badly and have a high risk to kill EVERY single part in the pc or burn down your house
i mean it’s been going for 5 years and has never gave me a single issue
aka why i am trying to find out so i can try and find it in this list over good and bad PSUs https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/1/d/1akCHL7Vhzk_EhrpIGkz8zTEvYfLDcaSpZRB6Xt6JWkc/preview?pli=1#gid=1973454078
iit should be lowr
the 9070 xt should use about 1.5-2X more power then your current gpu i do believe
canada omputers had for like 900 or something
not anymore ig
how much would a power supply be?
up to you but a good enough 850w should be like 100-120
tax bro
i know someone got for like 870?
should I only get a 9070 xt if I can get it for $600?
still better than 1200
what province are you in
toronto bro
bro is cooked
i aint getting shit
naa it might not go that low for a while but even at 700$ its pretty ok
two two my vert croski
please dont
Anyone know what could be causing this?
Pretty much every single person has told me something different
whats wrong?
The noise
And the weird screeching noise
It also causes some weird static in my headphones
is the 5070ti a good deal? at msrp or nah
Eh
i found a source that can help me find stock
then again i have a 1440p monitor atm
i think im fine with a 9070xt atm
Yea it’s not a huge different in performance

Ohhh
So he just buys loads of steam decks for cheap and up charges ?
he has 4 steam deck OLEDs
It says quantity of 2 for the 512gb so he has 5 😭🙏
yeah no he did something funky to get them
I assume this listing is the exact same thing https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126790754112?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=EIjvpDzBSqu&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=huq-iwsutta&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
27 sold
They probably been sat in the box a year and warranty’s run out on them lol
na the steam deck OLED is just too popular
Should I buy directly from steam?
yes
Okay thanks
Atleast I know I will have the 1 year warranty and everything is brand new
you can even buy a steam deck for 300 but the old model from CeX
https://uk.webuy.com/product-detail?id=SHGPVSD64GBB&categoryName=HANDHELD-GAMING-PCS&superCatName=COMPUTING&title=&queryID=5EC6330FC3B2924495A7382C03966115&position=4
I've not yet got a gpu for my system, I was planning to get a 7700xt, 7800xt, 7900xt or a 9070xt (finance) but, should I just get a 4060 instead?
I was looking to get the oled model because I have enough for it and I’m assuming it’s better
Cex machine
by a lot
4060 isn't that great, what's your budget?
Would buying a used oled model be a better option or should I buy new?
i would not bother with it
how much does it say the deck OLED is on steam
£479 on steam
all those amd gpus you listed are 1440p bangers
7900xt pushing 4k
and you ask about getting one of the worst value cards one can buy with a 4060
why is the range so large
u go from a 4060 to a thing that performs triple of 4060
