oh, one more thing; @bronze jay Nvidia GPUs are a little funky on Linux - make sure you use the "driver manager" to make it work, and I strongly recommend you switch to the "Nvidia proprietary drivers". If you're on AMD or Intel, it'll work perfectly fine.

long explanation; AMD and Intel both publicly release their GPU driver code, so Linux just uses that. Nvidia doesn't distribute the code, they only publicly release the driver, so the Linux kernel has no idea what's going on inside it. It still works basically the same as Windows, though. There's also a driver called "Nouveau", which is written by a bunch of people who are trying to reverse-engineer Nvidia GPUs, but it's very slow and it only works well on, like, 2020 GPUs or older.

also sidenote; the Linux AMD GPU drivers are backwards-compatible all the way back to ATI GPUs from the 90s, so lmao have fun

as a sorta TLDR of why; when the CPU needs to do something with memorry not actively being worked on, it has to fetch that from "the memory subsystem"
if that data was recently used, it might be in the cache (L1, L2, or L3), if its not it will request it from main memory (the DIMMs)
when doing this the CPU is IDLE and doing nothing, but this isn't reported in task manager as idle
the delay here is on the order of < 100ns, very very quick, however, for a 5GHz CPU thats 500 clock cycles, a lot of work can be done in 500 clock cycles
and thats for every, single, miss, shit adds up
and as a very TLDR that becomes
larger L3 means more stuff in L3, which means less waiting around for main memory to respond, more time the CPU is actually doing useful work

Not really. It honestly depends on what experience you want. Try to go to a microcenter or at least a best buy and look at different displays to see which technology to see what you like.

The technology isn't that important. It's more so what you can do with it because you can now get LCD displays with high refresh rates and others that don't have it as an example.

Most of the time that's true if you want it to be color accurate. However I suggest that because it'll give you an idea of what you'd like to get. Then you can go do some research on some specific models.

When I got my monitor at Microcenter I wasn't as concerned with how it looked. But what features I wanted because I was mostly going to use it to game. If I did content creation then I would look at different features like how color accurate it is as an example.
