The first pc I installed a cpu cooler on, the screws went in fine when I did the X screwing pattern. The second pc won't screw in no matter how hard I try, it's so difficult one of the screws never screws in and the other 3 do. When I intentionally put more force on the corner of the cpu cooler with that annoying screw and let it screw in partially first, the other 3 won't screw in. 2 questions, anyone know how to do this easier, and is it bad the cpu cooler wiggled around a lot from the un-screwing and re-screwing for the thermal paste? It still had complete contact with the cpu but wiggled a good amount.

People on here don't know how to fix it, the game devs don't know how to fix it, no one knows how to solve my crashing issues now on top of now my Desktop Manager is using 90%+ on games like overwatch and other games when my HAGS is disabled? I have so many fixes tried suggested by a whole slew of people and nothing has worked and things seem to be getting worse.

I took apart 2 different pcs, cleaned them, put them back together. The only issue is that I didn't reapply thermal paste after installing everything. So I turned on both pcs for a few minutes to make sure everything worked (except the cpu). Ive now waited for the thermal paste, I applied some to the pc for my first time in an X pattern, put the cpu cooler on and screwed the screws in an X pattern. Great first PC completed, I move on to the second PC, apply the thermal paste. Everything is going great and now it's time to screw the cpu cooler back in. First screw slightly tightened, then the one diagonal to that one, same thing for the other 2. I repeat the process, I think great the cpu cooler is in place now. I was wrong tho, only 3 of the screws were in. So I thought, "Hmm.. no biggy gotta unscrew them all again in order for each of them to screw in together. I repeated it, again only 3 screws. I tried a few more times, same thing. I tried another method and slightly applied pressure to the screw that wouldn't cooperate's corner of the cpu cooler. I screwed it in slightly and began to screw in the other screws. But it wouldn't allow the other screws to go in, I think I got 1 other one maybe 2, but again I couldn't get all 4. This went on for nearly 45 minutes.

TLDR: thermal paste applied. CPU cooler I screw in all 4 screws, only 3 were actually screwed in. I tried like 100 times and either 3 screws are in and the 1 problem screw isn't, or the problem screw is in and the other 3 aren't sometimes 2. It feels like if I lightly thread the problem screw even slightly the other 3 refuse to cooperate, my guess is that the top portion of the screw hole might be stripped. Ive tried for nearly 45 minutes.

I partially screwed in the problem screw. The screw diagonal to it, couldn't reach its hole even if I pushed slightly. So I.... pushed the screwdriver down decently hard till it COULD reach and screwed it till it was as screwed in as the problem screw, releasing the pressure. And then finished the other 2 screws. I didn't damage anything, but I did push harder than what I was comfortable with. But it was really the only option.
