why?
rip
More performance ofc
I'm with @tidal geyser on this. For gaming, 27" 4k is silly
Welp
wtf do you want 4k 27"
why not
what gpu do you have again?
there are huge improvments with this in games like forza so...
rx 5700xt
I mean, do what you want I don't give a shit, but the benefits are minimal
saying thats a supported gpu really does stretches rebar far
Shit, I game at 48"
anyone know whats up? arent showing any updates
like yeah it technically is but its not enough to really notice anything in a good few games
I have a 27inch ips already so I just want to pair another 27inch with it
I play forza
would a 5700xt really see a boost from rebar? I'd be surprisd if it was more than a few fps
also this opens the door to buying an intel arc gpu
is it 4k?
is qbit connected to it
1440p
You want to pair a 4k 27 with a 1440 27?
when you get the stats, mention me, I'd be curious to know how much of a boost you get
yes
im forza its almost like buying a new gpu
Yeah nah
its deluge and yeah it should be, its putting the downloads from the searches
lemme go pull up the results
i didnt manually add these files
also you need to search from lidarr
I want to leave static content on the 1440p ips
i did yeah
and game on the 4k
to prevent burn ins
Gt 730
rip
You can do that. You don't need to have the same size.
burn in is nowhere near as much of a problem as you think, especially on a current gen oled
fun fact you can also connect spotify to lidarr
ill prob need to buy a table bc of this
yeah, doesnt solve my problem though 😭
but it stop giving power to the pcie slot first ig speaking that the card had no signs of life
I mean, if that's the case you probably needed one anyway...
hmm
forget the avg improvements, that 0.1% is gamechanging
remember this alsow allows me to consider an arc gpu in the future. i'd say its well worth it
oh interesting... its lower
wait what is the root folder of lidarr
but 1% is higher
/home/elfie/music
which is an smb share it has write access to
now ... that MAY be due to testing problems, I can't be sure, there's not enough sample size.
where does it store the music after its downloaded?
oh right sample size
hmmmmm
idk it doesnt move it
8gb rabar or the clip
No, I mean sample size of 1. The 0.1% low might be an abberation
dang, that's noteworthy
what tutorial did you follow
forza 4
every other game is 1-4fps difference some having better 1% lows and thats it, same fps
my main concern is forza since I play that alot
i CANNOT stand to 50 series nvidia cards
second pic, you just need to do /music
in the mount point?
better 1% lows is worth it - it makes a big difference. You'll feel 1% lows before you feel average
yes
so /music ?
yes
ok
right
ok lemme check
How long before 9070 reviews can be shown
i see what you did wrong
anyways im PRAYING the modded bios that I found in the dell forums in TPU actually works on this gpu
wut
tommorow
😭 🙏
when connecting the fans do i plug the fans to eachother and plug the last one to the hub?
In how many hours, I don’t live in the us sorry
Finally got my fan splitter in
but like what did i do wrong?
lidarr and qbit both need access to the same folders
you mean the download folder? the download folder isnt my music folder
they both has access to mnt/Apollo/music-downloads
i know but thats where lidarr grabs it from
wait you are using prowlarr
yeah it doesnt solve image captchas i dont think
thats besides the point, the indexer does its due duty and sets them to download in deluge
hmmmm
i think the issue here is that lidarr cant reach delunge
can someone tell me the app thats being used for these benchmark numbers
yeah, it might just be the indexer talking to it maybe
rivatuner
for me i can see if something is being downloaded
thx
msi after burner/RTSS
oh god, 10100 and GT730?
yeah it worked like that
looks like frameview
noope
ok
intel core i9 13th gen with a gt 610
lol 10100 with a large IGPU
bottleneck of doom and dispair
frameview is all green well by default
ok
the i9 is too weak for my gt 610
my 1680v3 is too weak for my nvs 310
THATS WHAT IT WAS
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 258V
XD
what did you do
still doesnt import lemme just retry
turn on label plugin
i have no clue what that is
I love gambling on old untested GPUs, ~2,3euro for each one
My pc has no airflow. It too will be on fire
it has A LOT
you have panel gaps worse then tesla
Take the front panel and side panel off and enjoy the dust and airflow
You think this will run well with the pannels? I'm seriously thinking of grabbing another case at this point ngl
yes
although the fucking firmware on the lunar lake video is weird and shit. It doesn't Just Work like my older intel laptop did
hmm @tidal geyser interesting
unless you do a 14900k and 5090 you will be fine
hmmm
I plan on sticking a 7 9800x3d and a 5070 ti
try to do another song
the whole album failed
both known for their efficiency
and 3 of them
try another album
yes to /music
its a share that it can read at the very least, im not sure about writing
i think its 777 lol
yeah i did everyone@ modify
hmmmm
Updated my bios, it did its restarts, now when it restarted the last time I’m just looking at a black screen, this normal, orrr
hold on 2 secs it might not be working
oh look the cousin to my case
YES
You've got a Max?
why did changing my psu fix my cpu temp issue?
The speed of my cpu hasn't changed, but the temp has significantly
it used to idle around 50-60, now it's idling as low as 40
less heat from psu? idk
yay
since you did not mesure idle ya dummy
i swear almost nobody here has measured idle temps
wdym i didn't measure idle
Explain "idle" because I measured idle temps
user error
no you did not, idle is when the system is doing NOTHING and NOTHING AT ALL
most people think it is when its just sitting
K so I should turn off my computer
you should never ever use the bios to measure idle temps
anyways, idgaf if I used the wrong word or the right word. Why has my temp dropped 10 degrees randomly? All I did was change psu
YES, na kidding but most users have some random shit program in the background using like 20% of the cpu amd gpu or something
my pc is doing the exact same stuff as before

I AM TRYING TO EXPLAIN ITS NOT random
Right. So when my pc was sat there at 50-60 degrees doing very little, a change of psu and now it's at 40 whilst doing very little isn't random? All you've done is complain that I didn't use the right word.
you are meant to be in windows with no other program open then hwinfo
I then went to the bios to undervolt it by negative -15, which didn't change anything
yapfest
anyways idle temps do not matter
I just want to know, could my old PSU have caused higher temps?
i need a graphics/drawing tablet whatever the fuck its called
yes or no, it's that simple. All you had to say was "Your psu couldve been causing higher temps" why you gotta be pedantic over 1 wrong word as if it's the end of the world
then idk why my temps are 10 degrees lower now
its not
wdym its not
thermodynamics is not random
or at least this time around your not updating windows, there is not a extra program running you updated to more efficient drivers
your room is colder
or some other shit changed, physically
CPU shifted and has better contact with heatsink
package used to say 60-70 degrees whilst doing nothing. Just on my desktop.
maybe you did not screw the case in all the way or had the side panel open
Yay
yayfest
no wonder why its wrong
he is using hwmonitor
then why am i seeing hwmonitor
why tf are you being pedantic?
i am not
yes tf you are
you are the one claiming 10c cooler and i am trying to explain
Someone telling this 7900xt for $300 😂😂😂😂
oh my god, it's almost like it's the same numbers
It is 10 degrees cooler, are you telling me, my eyes are wrong?
its meant to read the same sensors but hwmonitor is known to have issues
What u two arguing about
i am telling you there is millions of factors that might have chnaged
he claims his pc is 10c cooler by replacing the PSU
I never said it was certain
imagine if he installed the psu upside down
you said it fixed your issue
so that is pretty certain to me
also even 80c on that cpu is not a temp issue
Yes, and im asking why because it makes no sense. Therefore, i'm not 100% certain thats the case. I asked. And you never gave an explicit, clear answer. Instead you complained and moaned about my incorrect terminology as if this is a fucking essay.
Lmao?!!?
40 degrees and 50 degrees are only a few watts apart, since air coolers hardly take effect until at least 70 ish
usually PSUs are either 20C or 20,000C, no in-between
Idle temps are mostly useless
i never said you used the wrong terminology, i said most people do not know how to measure idle
unless you're on an AIO, in which case that's a significant difference
i also said this
wacom
I never said "changing my psu 100% fixed my cpu temps" I asked why, because it doesn't make sense.
@tidal geyser tell me that card is shot lmao
the "why" is; it didn't significantly change the temps, what you're seeing is most likely measurement error or maybe the new PSU has different airflow/fans
what did you mean by this then
Like are you measuring the idle temps while in the mobo bios or on the desktop and how long has it been running blah blah blah
Are you stupid? I'm asking why... it makes no sense. Is that me being 100% sure, or are you blind?
what was the temp in the room
I AM TRYING TO EXPLAIN
Was the home AC running?
im in the uk, we don't have AC
my room temp drops 10C when I open the door 😭
Was your door or window open
Nope, same environment.
We have uni room sensors which control the temp in the room, we get little influence.
how long did you test, what was the power draw?
Only 1050 more episodes of one piece
power draw being the most important factor here
the writers wrote 1049 episodes and then were like "nah we should do some more"
The power draw never really changed and was always around 30-40 watts
is the psu installed the right way?
I even removed the heatsink, and re-adjusted all the fans. I don't want to know why for no reason, I'm just confused because I tried everything, dusting, new thermal paste, everything, yet the only time it works is when I get a new PSU. I'm not claiming that the new PSU is confirmed to be a method of dropping temps, but it was only once I redone that, and re-seated the gpu that temps dropped.
I always forget British people can't afford home AC 😢
It can only be installed one way.
nope
Hell, we can't afford anything here atm.
Ah, mine can only be installed one way.
also 60c for that cpu idle is normal
yes, but 40 seems better for doing nothing
Its not a problem, im just confused as to what I did to fix it, if anything
the newer psu might have supported better power states or the bios got reset and it was enabled for whatever reason
Yucky Brits
there are so many factors here
Alright, anyways, perhaps when I lay my pc down the cooler had better contact with the cpu, idk. I'm just happy it's lower. I've also decided to upgrade to a 9070xt, as the price looks to be around 470
what
the price in the uk will be £570
oh, nvm. I just converted usd to gbp, but that's not tasty
Fuck that
Greedy fucks
its midnight for you in 7min
would my cpu be a bottleneck? Ofc there's 100% going to be a bottleneck, but would performance be decent?
1440p monitor eh its fine
1080p defo grab a 5700X3D
4k more then fine for most games
1440p
anyways ama head off
My search for a pc case locally continues
you know you could also unscrew the 4 screws and get the same cooling performance as a lot of modern cases
Pardon my ignorance but wouldn't removing the panel just screw up air distribution or some tech mumbo jumbo
Or am I completely overthinking how fans work in a pc
Not for a front panel
Oh okay thanks I wasn't sure how that worked
Fortunately there is a dust cover behind the panel
It depends! That's the good thing about fluid dynamics - it's hard.
If your case had excellent air flow and distribution, yes, it would fuck it up. The chances of that being the case are minimal though
Every time you think the word "bottleneck", just ... Don't.
:3
Every PC has a bottle neck
Bottlenecks don't exist. Not like people seem to think they do.
I think I grasp what you mean
Well, my r5 3600 had stutters with my 6750xt which is why I upgraded. So I've experienced a bottleneck before, I just don't wanna replicate that
everything is a bottleneck and that means nothing is a bottleneck(?)
it doesnt really make sense tbh but all you need to know is that modern hardware wont bottleneck the way you think it will
Nope
Nope
Nope
... You're missing the point entirely
the bottleneck is subjective to what your doing with the computer
Computers and modern software is extremely complex, and unless your PC build is absolutely insane, there is no "bottleneck", there's just relative performance
If we're being strictly, CPUs
In that exact moment, not even the game.
a workstation is going to be heavilty gpu limited if you try to game, but a gaming desktop trying to do heavy workloads may be cpu limited
and it could be the other way around depending on the app/game
You can't even say that with confidence
things like star citizen, factorio, and space engineers are going to almost always cpu limit you
i.e there's currently no consumer CPU on the market that can fully utilize a 4090 (or 5090 for that matter) without being CPU limited
incorrect
The entire concept of a bottleneck, and "matching" CPU/GPU is stupid
technically, any cpu could fully utilize a 4090
just depends on the resolution you run at
..... At 1080p when gaming, sure
youd have to go 8k then
In that case, it's literally a bottleneck. But it's the exception, not the rule.
wdym nope, the 3600 bottlenecked the 6750xt, I experienced it
hardware unboxed tested that even at 4k most pre 2020 cpus cant even fully use a 4080 which itself is a huge step below 4090
and what were you playing with it
1080p, so it was a bottleneck
You experienced performance issues.
what g a m e
every game
"bottleneck" is entirely wrong
Just because you get less frames than other CPUs while using it doesn't mean it's automatically a bottleneck lol
It wasn't less frames, it was stuttering
constant, my fps was high, but constant stuttering because the cpu couldn't keep up
You don't actually understand how this works
that doesnt sound like a cpu problem lol
That sounds like a ram problem tbh
it looks more like running out of ram
In four dimms of mixed speeds running jedec?
32gb ddr4 3600. problem only left when I went to my new cpu
each frame takes cpu and gpu power, but higher resolutions take an exponential amount of gpu power
We don't have a CPU/gpu pair that's equal with each other
I could've played at 1440p, making it more gpu bound
But i didn't have a 1440p monitor and virtual resolution looked terrible
generally more gpu bound is the goal, because on cpu bound you start having performance issues with background tasks
I know, but the difference between the 3600 and 6750xt was drastic
I like how, I explain what happened, the thing which fixed it, and everyone tells me nope, as if I didn't have to fix it myself 2 years ago

I'm no pc expert, but if every game stuttered because I paired my 3600 with a 6750xt, then it stuttered because of that.
yeah, the panzer max-g
where you playing max graphics
maxing out graphic settings should balance things out
It stuttered because you had a problem
oh, what was his issue
"pc doesn't work right" -> bottleneck
... not how it works
I don't know
You have no other data. Your problem was fixed when you changed hardware - that doesn't mean there is an inherent issue.
what you experienced was not a bottleneck there, it's definitely some settings elsewhere causing the issue
and i'm saying this due to previously using an r5 3600
The only REAL bottleneck is B580 with older CPUs and non rebar, and 4090+ power GPUs at low resolutions (which is stupid anyway)
and due to them being EXTREMELY common and widely benchmarked and used.
People often come and say "I'm buying X video card, will I be bottlenecked by my Z CPU?" - as if the X video card won't give them a performance upgrade from their current card, and they would never upgrade their CPU.
I think they're just wanting to know how much to spend on a card to make sure it's not held back too much, and they're not overspending on an upgrade they won't get to properly experience.
except they have used a "bottleneck calculator" and it told them they are "10% bottlenecked"
as if that has a useful meaning
Yeah, that part's goofy. But asking people who will have first-hand experience isn't a bad thing to do.
Sounds like you have a bottleneck and are just compensating for it Bob
oh no, that part is absolutely perfect, my point is the term 'bottleneck' is stupid and useless. By and for idiots.
I have 0% bottleneck
I'll give you a bottleneck
How so?
.... literally everything I have said so far
it wasn't the cpu not being able to keep up, seriously, the r5 3600 can definitely handle an rx6750xt, a lot of stutters especially micro stuttering could be pointed down at settings like levels of anti aliasing being done or a background task suddenly taking place
i don't think it's wrong to use language like that to ask questions because others will probably know what you mean. no need to be 100% correct all the time
I've only been following since the message from 6 minutes ago.
The entire concept is not useful
People typically come in freaking out over a "10% bottleneck" because they are upgrading their video card.
trouble is, bottlenecking is not a catch all term for use to say where the issue will be
also the term 'bottleneck' implies a hard and significant limitation
I think you're painting it with too wide of a brush, which to be fair, it is a problem when people do. But when used properly, the term is useful.
hell some probably see a 1% bottleneck and assume the worse
neither of which applies.
how is it used properly then? because I don't see that, basically ever.
definitely, the person who was asking for help here earlier was using 100% it incorrectly lmao
this conversation is still happening
It also conveys absolutely insane bullshit - if you want useful, look at the intel frame time charts.
we're nerds and geeks, it'll continue on til the end of time
It's not a simple pipeline
If your GPU's sitting at, say 60% usage and one of your threads is maxed out, you can say your CPU is bottlenecking your GPU.
No, you can't.
Why not?
5070 12 GB of vram is a bottle neck right
thats not the cpus fault
thats the fault of the workload
its not as simple as saying its uneven and therefore a bottleneck
fuck no, that's more on the program itself
maybe that's all the GPU needs to do? Maybe it's actually limited on a different part of the GPU? Maybe it's an inherent limitation or design of the engine?
Performance is still being heavily limited (or bottlenecked) by single threaded CPU performance.
Rate the $6 cad keyboard
it's also not bottlenecked - because typically upgrading GPU will still result in increased performance
or maybe the workload doesn't need 100% of the gou in the first place
is it? You don't know that.
Also a patch could come out next week for the game and suddenly it uses 100% of the GPU and gets higher framerates.
or it uses 100% of the GPU and gets the SAME framerates
If a single CPU thread is at 100% in games, almost all of the time that'll be where you're bound.
or it used to use 100% of the GPU, now it uses 60%, and gets the SAME framerates - is it still a bottleneck?
I love how the 5070 scores the same perf as the 7900XTX because why not be as bad as the cards that already suck at rt and be massively behind every other card in your generation
It's not like we have well optimized games that will fully use the cpu and gpu
look at minecraft, it only needs 1-2 cores on a cpu to run but doesn't even use the gpu tbh, or if when it does, it's a minor blip for the gpu to notice
"a game is CPU bound in terms of upper limits" -> "omg my hardware is bottlenecked"
It was alright but the space or enter bar is killing me
I can hears ittt
That's not what I'm saying, lol.
If it has more vram it would be better but it ran out 😢
It literally is
But okay, I'll let you guys have your opinions.
But for $6 7/10 decent 8/10 for real clicky keys
IJTGC changes a lot of the drawing routines depending on whether you have more or less than 12GB VRAM, it's not exactly fair to benchmark them side-by-side
the game checks when you open it
This is why it's by and for idiots - because it's a massive oversimplification that provides no useful outputs.
Copied over from the forum:
Eh Apple charges 1200 dollars for the iPhone 16 Pro Max which has 8GB of ram
apple has got to be a joke company
they’re feeding off the actual foundation steve built
FUCK ME!!! Just dropped my portable monitor onto its cables fromt he desk and now it no longer recvives a hdmi signal
On top of what steve made, they just threw shit at it and said “alr thats good enuf”
nah that's tesla
Feels mate
and I litterally just spent $470 yesterday on things for my PC
oof that sucks
My 8.9" monitor on my desk has stopped working 😦
I am now down to a single monitor again
The double dang just one of those weeks
No other display out ports?
@hexed tapir Single mini hdmi input and 2 USB-C ports
On that note, my phone touchscreen won't cooperate with me now.
Dooom intensifies see xD frig man. Sounds like everyones roughing it
I believe it is possessed
You can see the damage to the hdmi port
The minihdmi port is now crocked in the case
Do they make protective cases for portable monitors?
Oddly enough my pops called and told me his laptops no longer working or showing his hard drive
everyones techs/luck on the fritz
Usually no
I think this was either my 3rd or 4th portable monitor
since about 2018
One every 2 years
What curse has Nvidia 50 series brought upon us?
yeah roughly for some stupid reason like this
not directly but it's possible to use one for a tablet on some of hem

I use it mainly with my laptop but I was using it with my desktop since I had to give my secondary 24" to my step dad since he broke the screen on his AIO

raytracing 😭
Main monitor is 27"
so my pc is 3 degrees cooler with the glass on than with it off
ok
Sounds about right sicne it is able to properly pull air through the fans
Monitor itself still works
just no hdmi? only usb C?
yup
unfortunate, but worse things have happened
Yeah I can use it for my phone and tablet still but not any HDMI devices like my PC/Laptop
... you could simply use a DP or HDMI to USB C cable
Would that power the monitor as well or just do video?
You can get one that does
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-USB-C-Adapter-Thunderbolt-Compatible/dp/B083KTYFCW hopefully something like this will work
PoE monitors 😋
The monitor does have 2 USB-C ports which is good
The FUQ?
Still cheaper than current options for 5090s💀
External portable monitor case/frame gave me this great sponsored ad
FUCK ME!! Hate when this is a thing
I have an extensive collection of converters and adapters
USB c to c USB would be too simple
yes, but it was an example
I don't think I ever seen a USB c to HDMI cable in person
Right? It is usually the other way around @hexed tapir
I have several 😄
My wfh setup uses two USB C to DP cables
my dock setup on my other setup uses USB C to HDMI for the main screen because 4k120
UGH!!! *Note: one-way chord, exclusively from USB-C host devices to HDMI displays.
yes, this is the VAST majority of cables
Buried in the notes of the listing NEVER in the title
So this is going to be a while to find the CORRECT cable
I have a VGA to HDMI to USB C setup, whjch allows me to use my portable monitor easily on servers
coworker has a rad GPD device with HDMI in
Finding tech stuff outside of pcpartpicker will slowly have you descend into insanity. You don’t have to take my word for it
Ffs I can't find any phone style portable monitor cases only the damn sleeves
Need to double check my GPU for mutiple DP ports https://www.amazon.com.au/AmazonBasics-Bi-Directional-USB-C-DisplayPort-Cable/dp/B081VK1KHV
... pcpartpicker does not have USB C to HDMI cables 🙂
I wish they did
that is signal only, I would get a power+signal cable. Although I have spent literally hundreds of dollars reducing cables, so eh
? my monitor came with a flip cover/stand
I have 2 c ports on the monitor so 2 cables isn't a problem for me
Also laptops because I don’t want to do that song and dance fighting store search engines for what I am looking for
IGG campaign will live on 5th Nov https://igg.me/at/gpdpocket3
wrong. Two cables is the WORST
Unacceptable.
The reason you can't go USB-C (DP) out to HDMI in is because HDMI is stupid
oh boy howdy is it
Displayport is not stupid and is backward compatible with HDMI
yeah posted that one need to double check my GPU for multiple DP outputs
How will the 9070xt compare to the 7900xtx? Which one will be faster for native gaming
Inconclusive. We don't have enough definitive data
I computerd the computer
Gotcha, thanks
Ok look like DP to C cable will work as it looks like I have 3DP ports and a single HDMI port on my 3070 Ti
So that is good won't have to dig around looking for HDMI TO USB-C
Lmao
I got a lot of those laying around
UGH!!! Damn it Amazon why does it have to be OUT OF BLOODY STOCK???
and why do the rest of them have to be BLOODY $30+++?
Could spend $50 on Amazon or AliExpress on a new 15 inch 1080p portable monitor
1m is roughly 3 feet right?
I guess
M is a little more than a yard
Google does exist
and a yard is 3 feet lol
Or Bing!
that too

Unless your Australian
And it probably isn’t battery powered
You're looking at amazon.com.au
Why the heck am I in the AU?

If you’re gonna hit him with the power supply, can I hit you with the computer?
Found this thing
Please have it be msrp.
Nuh uh
come onnnn
Is that a 5090
Ok I am going to go lay down and watch some anime before I fall asleep here
Totally
i remember when you could get those for like $100 (and they were still relevant). we have gone downhill as a society 🥲
Wowza how did you get one 🤩🤩🤩
but there is no MSRP as amd isn't selling the reference cards so the prices they have put out are just Suggested Estimated Price
Uhm 128 megabytes of vram
MSRP is MSRP regardless of if they actually released a card
That's enough to run chatgpt 4o 🤪🤪🤪
I can play gta six
consider: loooooooooooong gpu
hey, i need help identifying a problem
a friend recently assembled a pc with a 8700g and it's using the integrated gpu for a while
and a couple days ago randomly some white specks appear on the screen just like those radiation filters that camera gets when it's exposed to something radioactive
there are no "regular" artifacts
the pc is running at fairly low temps
we tried to switch monitors and hdmi cables
what the heck can it be? we considered a faulty igpu but we cannot test otherwise
Wait can that connector work in modern slots?
no
but there is no MSRP its a Suggested Estimated Price so AMD is estimating what they will be
Gawd dammit
i found a video of similar error happening
i don't know if i can post links tho
Have you tried resetting the BIOS to defaults?
Still a suggestion. So my point stands
yeah, nothing happened
we're considering that it might be a shitty hdmi cable
That could be, too. I have a second-hand RX 6700xt where the HDMI port is faulty, but only on the BIOS screen.
hm, maybe
whats the rest of the PCB for? 😭
it fits into a security bracket on the motherboard
ohh
this gpu came from a power mac g4, and because apple, it's weird
oh,quite understandable 😭
yeah
To put your drink somewhere of course!
Deshroudin ram
Big fat CPU cooler
Moving first fan up for this shroud prevents side panel from closing
your fault for buying vengeance
T-create exists, is A die, and has a proper LP heatsink
Gaming on a gt 730
Hitch hiker thumb
Those are actually on the DDR5 leap shopping cart. I don't know jack shit about memory latency, but seen price comparable stuff from kingbank with much lower cas latency. Got a take on that?
Absolute best bang for buck CPU cooler for a i5 6600 with a high chance of upgrading to a i7 6700k in the future?
anything you can find in the ewaste clearance section
any cooler that costs more than $5 won't be worth it
is the Thermalright TR-TPFX850-W a good psu? lowk cant find anything info on it
Put together this optiplex attrosity.

Hey I’m asking this cause I’ve been trying to fix this for weeks and can’t figure it out my laptop is stuck at 0.39 ghz I tried reinstalling windows going to Linux etc and can’t fix it Linux worked better but it was still slow it’s the Lenovo legion 5 15ARH05 please help me
hi guys, i want to play monster hunter wilds with some emulators up(LD player) which should i get for cpu 7950X3D or 9800X3d?
Have you checked the temperatures in hwinfo? Also #1027757333117415424 is the correct channel
Ok I have it’s not throttling I’ve checked and I’ll look there
Not the greatest speeds, but still a lot faster and snappier than SATA
Kinda want to test the 512GB kioxia Or the WD Black I have lying around to see if they are any faster
Hotdog car
Really different use case cpus
i just need something that can handle both but im leaning on 9800x3d
Yeah go for that.
All a 7950x3d could do better than in your emulation use case is RPCS3 PPU module compilation.
also do i get more fps in wilds using 9800x3d at 1080p? im currently at 1440p with 4070tis
More than likely unless you're coming from...like. a 12700k or 5700x3d
im curerntly at r5 7600
this is the price of 5090 in my country, thats 2900 USD
in my country,we can either buy this gpus from amazon or...we cant.
still working on rebar being added to my bios lol
My man can read hex.
Dude can godmode software
i wish 50 series never existed.
firefox, here i come!
i hope firefox keeps their promise and not get rid of it
😭 btw you can also use ublock origin lite
works the same
Edge :)
whats it got over firefox?
got it
Hella telemetry. Ham fisted AI features. Bloated interface.
And maybe a few somewhat useful windows integrations
not really

bro call of duty is gonna eat throug hmy storage
a day will come when it will be 1TB
https://www.amazon.com/CLX-Set-Gaming-Desktop-Processor/dp/B0C2RL6N2K/ref=sr_1_5?sr=8-5 this my pc i wanna get better ram can someone recommend me some
A true gaming system, this CLX SET delivers outstanding computing power and visual performance! It's driven by a Liquid-Cooled 13th Gen 24-Core/32-Thread Intel Core i9 13900KF 3GHz processor (Max. Turbo Speed of 5.8GHz) and 64GB of Dual-Channel RGB DDR5-5600 memory. The 12GB GeForce RTX 4070 vide...
nah
Personally I advocate for Floorp or Zen (if you can tolerate vertical tabs)
Fireforks a-plenty
I FUCKING DID IT LETS GOOOO
uhh is bar 1 supposed to be 256
I DID IT AND IT WORKS WELL!!
115-120fps vs 130-140fps

this means intel arc gpus are now an option for me!
Okay price, since the 5080 is 1k (in theory)
most of the other ones were quite a bit more expensive, maybe this guy just was ahead of the curve and it was priced to sell and its not a scam? i know not to contact him off ebay and how to dispute it if it is a scam so should be good
Mid to high settings
Buying a last gen card for near MSRP
I think it should be fine
Wait for tomorrow and the review
Cause theoretically the 9070XT is a slightly better or will be a better 7800XT
Oh ok yeah
It's for sure way better then a 7800xt
Cuz all we have are hints and rumors
alright well i cant get current gen for MSRP and "current gen" is like not even a week old lmao
(And may or may not be useful amd slides)
What about not XT then just the 9070 how would you compare that to a 7800XT
The non xt looks like ass from the specs alone
The 7900gre was better than the 7800xt and amd claims a up to 40% uplift in performance over the 7900gre
Ahhh so that’s why the rumoured prices are so high
Spec sheet based prediction is....like 10% of what you can rely on in prelaunch. Personally. Todays GPU market is fucked.
Got my 7900xt for $640 just shy of a year ago
I’ll never believe rumours like these
600? You kidding?
Msrp is 600
Still. Wouldn't hold your breath about even getting one
Well that’s like lots in $AUD
Well AUD has its own bullshit taxes and shizzle
If you won the emu war things would be cheaper
Only thing I don’t like about Australia is our currency is cooked
Well we didn’t because they were armed
9070xt shld be playing 1440p ultra settings
Smrt
Old data, also the 5070= 4070super the 9070xr will be plenty good for 1440p
I just want my first PC already I know so much and enjoy everything besides decoding annoying marketing terms and saving money
How accurate do you guys think the rumoured prices are because I can never trust rumoured prices
goodmorning guys. i want to get 650w psu. i will use it probly for 3060-3060ti-3070-4070 do you think is enough?
yes
Yeah
ye
which budget psu should i get i have 2 options: fps hv pro and msi a650bn
Getting it from a channel vendor? Should be accurate
what if nvidia made a unit that could process graphics
check reviews
dont cheap out on psu, get something thats on the cult list at the very least
What if NVIDIA made a consumer product
nah they just do networking
nvidia makes great AI mainframes, they should consider selling some GPUs
actually right now using other pc with msi a550bn theres no problem. can i go again?
I don’t understand getting a “budget” PSU I swear all the good wattage and good name brand PSU aren’t expensive at all
Back in my day....we had an Nvidia GPU rendering graphics and another one dedicated to physics. 🧓
what about the other two
Extra VRAM
Them chatgpts not leveraging phyx cards smhn
i want MXM modules back.
there was no reason other then money for them to be removed.
MXM?
swappable laptop gpus
Oh
also socketed cpus for laptops would be lit again
How long ago were they standard
Imagine a gpu board partner that just gave you a heatsink with 120mm fan mounts
What’s the next big thing in GPU development
Software gimmicks to pawn off the AI tech to gamers
You can make a die as big as you want
Size non factor
Bro I swear the AI stuff is so annoying
but in the end it's about yield per disc
its funny. uhh. the GTX1080M is faster then the 2080Max Q
the other 2080 mobile chips are non MXM so they are excluded
Bro what
I meant like most power possible while still making it smaller like more power per unit squared or whatever I’m probably on to nothing
Give it like. 4 more years.
Are you fucking high
A lil yea
yes
Ay
same tbh.
I'm always high fuck you mean
But this is bullshit
That's the vibe
That's a pretty nice error message won't lie
Seen funnier
IDEK where I'm at half the time
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-2080-mobile.c3312 pair this with a I7 2960XE for the funny

In case anyone missed it, he wants $300 lol.
Bro
As long as you can pretend you know what you're doing I see no problem
Ain’t no way
Swear
That’s crazy
Who sat on bros GPU
This seems like a better use of 300$ for something that got sat on every day
i wonder if my old dell precision could handle a 150w MXM module
id have to make sure i have the rest of the laptop in a pretty efficient state.
but i like funny actually bulletproof laptop
100% fan speed till the laptop can no longer be on your lap without giving you 3rd degree burns if the AC brick doesn't shit out first
What time is the 9070 reviews going live
with the amount of metal this thing has its gonna take ALOT
Name brand doesn't equal good
ID Cooling FROZN A410 good cooler?
Ok but like a commonly bought Corsair 850W power supply isn’t gonna blow up
There’s not really a reason to try and cheap out on a PSU
They aren’t expensive
They're more likely to than a lot of cheaper stuff
Oh really
That makes zero sense
The fact you can get better ones for cheaper certainly is a reason
He pulled that out his ass
wait can the CAN/USA tarrif impact shipping like a package as a gift WTF?
Rme uses a low life span sleeve bearing fan that for most users would put the PSU out of commission if it fails. A thermal take gf1 is often cheaper for example and is both better electrically, and in the sense it uses a more reliable fan
What I can say about cheap psus
Cheap fans.
Big brand doesn't mean good
Cheap fans are loud.
A lot of the cheaper big brands psus are actually more guilty of cheaping out on fans
Cheap psus can have....cheap inductors.
Cheap inuctors. Can vibrate loudly
Again, not inherently
Ok but like if your buying something of a common market brand that sells it’s not going to explode
It's about the model and design
I'm matching your ambiguity
It will be completely fine
Not the price , not the brand
This assumption is just wrong
These companies don’t just intentionally make PSU models prone to exploding
Honoring good warranties is expensive as hell
No company makes models prone to exploding
But some models are more likely to
Ok
And those models often times from big brands can cost more than less likely to fail models
But my point is your not saving that much money by buying something other than what everyone else is
For the same quality? Yes you sure as hell are
You don’t really need to get a cheap PSU
If you buy your PSU at a best buy or similar...you can get a new one the same day yours hypothetically exploded
Rmx I'd say is comparable to a gf1 and theyre often nearly double the price
If you can afford a whole PC but not a PSU what’s the point
What psus does best buy sell. Corsairs
And they less Razer mice
Doesn't mean a thing. Best buy selling a bad product doesn't fix it
They also sell Logitech MX master mice there
Also bad
Which is the best mouse on the market objectively
Actually, arguably worse
If the market was an eating contest
I'm implying they're overweight as hell for their size relative to other cheaper options
None of the big brands make good mice
Yes...
If you're not a valorant or cs2 player I don't see the problem
Same with keyboards
Ok what
Same with basically anything infact
The bigger the brand the more you're paying for name almost always
Yes but at the same time you aren’t gonna get a no name because they often don’t have reviews or any publicity
But that's not the discussion now isnit
You can’t just intentionally avoid all brand names entirely
If you want to say don't get unreviewed psu that's fine
Don't get small brands is just ignorance speaking though
Eh. Hard to find a custom keyboard enthusiast that spent less than your average Cheeto dusted blue switch gaming keyboard user
The assumption big brands mean good psus is also ignorance speaking
I see you don't know the first thing about keyboards
I would say similar for a mouse I’m not gonna go buy a brand literally no one has heard of just because I’ll save 45 bucks or something
Keyboard perf per $ literally peaks under $100
You fail to give examples in every "supporting" statement you've made
Arguably best perf per $ imo is hi75 and that's a $50 CNC aluminum board
In what?
I have an example of the biggest and most popular Corsair psu having a massive issue relative to a cheaper better thermal take psu
Massive issue?
I gave this example
How massive
What example haven't I given?
I don’t agree with buying $300 mice or keyboards but I’m not gonna buy something no one even knew existed
Before you said razer mice nothing
I'd say using a sleeve bearing fan on a psu is a pretty massive issue
Sure, I'll elaborate
Any decent durable 1tb nvmes
Most cases on the market preinstalled fans are these
???
And that's a massive issue?
CRINGE
RM850X (most popular PSU) has an FDB btw
The whole v3 line uses proprietary switches with a weak actuation feel and sound that makes them feel like membranes while costing more than mice using the same paw 3950 sensor that are lighter by a margin of around 2-3x and running at similar prices to magnesium and carbon fiber counter parts
They voted for it :)
Is that good enough?
I said they, not you :)
No, most psus use fdb or ball bearing fans
No disagreement there.
But that's the selling point. It's silent

Which tend to be much more reliable and less likely to die from dust
I've just been buying straight from Taiwanese brands in Canada, no tariffs here 🤣
The click isn't silent, it's just mushy...
Stretched out feeling
Eh. Beg to differ. Still would define as "plenty tactile"
The frequency of a gpro is so high it's almost irritating to go back to
Rmx isn't rme. Rmx line is actually pretty good used, but new it's usually very overpriced
I'll agree here. Yea
More than half of the population can't read above a 6th grade level so can't you blame 'em?
And again, that's what happens when you buy big brands
Reliable warranties?
You pay for name... Hence why it's a good idea to buy based off what you get and not brand
You're new to warranty claims if you think big brands mean good support or warranties
You're especially new to the PC space if you believe that
Eh. Something reassuring about the idea of a 5+ year free replacement if anything goes wrong just appeals to me.
But...I buy Corsair psus and noctua fans
But to an extent if the product and pricing are basically identical I would buy whatever has better reviews or has been bought more and I’ve heard of
This was pleasantly forward moving chat until you felt like throwing this one out
Both are overpriced usually and aren't the only things in the world with warranties...
You can enjoy them though
But don't argue people should get them cause why get smaller brands
Cause the answer is simply they're usually better and cheaper
I’m curious as to what your setup is because you seem to just call like everything anyone knows of overpriced
Smaller brand in the PC space usually translated to....eastern nations to put it bluntly
You're especially new to the PC space if you believe that
Not at all
Would you say ekwb is bigger or techN
And on the electronic side it's almost all from eastern nations
Corsair doesn't make their psus In a log cabin in Michigan
Not the argument here
They buy them from oems like great wall and super flower
Sure.
Yeah but not everyone wants to research like exactly the beast cheapest oem product you can find
thats dope
isnt there actually no western only brand
maybe evga
Which is fine
If it’s in someone’s budget and they have heard of the company and it has decent reviews people are going to buy it
PNY
But don't complain about people not buying the big brand
Cause again, big brands has 0 correlation with good
The point is the big brand offers expedient and reliable support for that.
This whole thing is strawman
Big brands don't offered reliable support in most cases
normally they get big bc of their products being good
not all
but some
And I'd argue almost never more reliable support than the smaller boutique brands
No I’m just saying I don’t see the reason to need to look for a budget PSU because most PSUs on the market aren’t expensive
Where's this "most cases" statement come from
Normally it's because marketing
That's very declarative
