Yeah, I don't fly with it myself anymore. I set up my browser to be locked down and run vpns and have slowly transitioned a lot of aspects of my personal information to be more locked down. It has potential to make many overtly laborious tasks way more efficient for us, in theory giving humans more time to do more important things. eBay / PayPal usually sides more with the buyer, however, it depends on the situation. For example, sometimes these scam sellers bank on the buyer not noticing they've been sold a fake, and hope enough time passes so the buyer cannot claim eBay Buyer Protection. Sometimes they'll cancel the listing after you win, asking you to message them via WhatsApp / Telegram / etc. to then pay via another method so you won't be covered under Buyer Protection, which absolutely violates eBay's ToS.

But like, what if they send a card that's a real card, and it looks right, and it's the right weight on a scale, the right dimensions, it works when plugged in and reports to be the 6000 ada, but it's some other, older, cheper card? I know that's an issue with storage, an SD card can report 2 TB but be 2 GB, you don't really notice until you put more than 2GB on it... is that, a thing, for GPUs as well?

That's a great question for eBay to answer. They should. But... if the person handling your case at eBay isn't attentive to how a GPU should work, you may have to fight for your case. Up to you if it's worth the risk.

The first question you should ask yourself is Do you need to use DDU? In my 15+ years doing computer things... I've only needed to DDU / purge GPU drivers 3 times - 2 of those were on poorly built laptops.

You should be able to fully uninstall the prior drivers from Windows Add/Remove programs, download the driver version you want from nVidia's website, physically disconnect your PC from the internet, reboot, then install the old drivers from the file you downloaded before disconnecting from internet. You can still use DDU if you want, but I've seen it nuke people's WiFi / network drivers before so... up to you.
