Saw a post for a "16GB GTX 1080Ti"
Especially with a school version
WinPE
does a woled or qd oled have clearer text? someone told me one has blacker black but one better image quaility to do with tesxt
I am pretty sure the guy's either lying, or mistyped
@red badge
It took me 4 hours cus It was throwing out a cpu error light for a ram stick that wasn't completely in. I fixated on the cpu and only found out about the ram as a last resort
I know of ways around it, but I can't 100% take your word that you have permission to do this
I don’t see why unattended install wouldnt work
so is 2500K
Don’t think ti will override, while othe version
Was just talking about the 2100 since I had one lying around lol
Who cares
I do, school wanted to throw the pc's away and I have permission of the IT guy to take any tech stuff I like as long as they've thrown it away.
I can send a ss for proof if you want?
It'll be in Dutch tho
I mean, I'd rather I don't promote stealing which many students do.
But if they had permission to not turn it to ewaste, then that's fair
You’re right
I can dm you
Alright
At least you didnt have to do this
Oh god that cable management
Have you ever done hard line?
Thankfully not
Not much i can do
This case is awful for cable management
No
Yup
Incorrect
Huh
That was a way of saying agreed
Ah
Steering Wheel
Stealing wheel
WHAT
Dead server
230 for a 3070 TuF... 40 more for an RX 6800,,, I wonder which is the beter deal /s
has anyone here used ethernet over coax as a replacement for wifi in their house?
Any of the gaming handhelds able to beat my i7-6700, GTX 1070, 32gb ddr4 2133mt ?
Yup
Which one?
Z1 extreme
All of them with a z1 extreme
The rog ally?
Ye
Or does a steam deck have that too?
Nope, steam deck does not
The Igpu can beat the 1070?
It's about on par iirc
Dam but oh well
But the cpu is a lot better
And ram
also draws probably a fifth of the power
GDDR5 vs GDDR6
Well I play modded skyrim and modded Minecraft so
And also acts as a mini computer
I need more CPU than GPU anyway
The RoG Ally
So if the GPU is on par it's good
Bruh
Looking into it, the 1070 is still probably 10%-15% faster. Just a huge cpu gap
What does tuf stand for
No idea
And everything else
I'm seeing this happen in Canada too, criminals are shipping the GPU cores to China, some buy them to sell for scams, some sell direct after ripping the core off.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNZytzv0GKs
After a few months of looking for this guy, we finally found who we believe to be the alleged local GPU scammer. Thanks to multiple of you in the comments and emails, we were able to set up a meet to pretend to buy a GPU off him.
Original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJlFmyr8c14&t=2s
Thank you to the emailer who went by "Advanced" f...
Ofc
RoG though is known
Should I wait for the new rog ally
The one with the extreme CPU?
Is that a Roblox character
Z1 extreme
Yeah
No didn't they announce the ally 2 at PC con or whatever this year
General Question: What GPU is best for a 1000 USD build?
Nope, they didn't confirm using z2 or z2 extreme soon
Linus did a video on it when he reviewed the new vrs
CES…?
Marketplace availability? Tasks?
Any already owned parts?
Used 6900?
Lets's say from scratch.
Man... imagine spending $1400 on a card with 16gb of vram...
Oh is the x the one I'm thinking of
imagine
Fair fair
CPU?
7800 XT on Amazon is (allegedly) 489
Will take note.
I've tried speccing $1k builds with a 7800 xt. But many people play a lot of cpu heavy games
Unless it's just my friends
A cheaper option is the 7600/7600X for entry into the modern sockets
Does that 1000 include screen, Mouse & KB or just the case
oh okay
Oh, many people also want wifi
7600 cpu fine for all desktop games i only recommend 9800x3d for vr
nah let's just say the PC itself
im so excited for 4gb gpus to fall more out of favor, im going to have so much cheap hardware to use
You can get some pretty good peripherals for around 200ish, btw
Amazon has MSI 1440p 100/120/144Hz monitors in the 110-140 range
9800x3d for vr?
Oh okay, thanks
the one time where just about always it will be gpu bound
Is the 4060 worth it?
no
b580 and then rx 7600
and 4060 only if way cheaper then both by a lot
lookiong for a full size wireless mouse witht he two sidxe buttons sick n tiredx these wires
Thank you very much for the info👍 👍 👍
i wish egpu enclosures were cheaper
i wish egpus really did anything
well for gaming
for gpu acceleration it can be good
Yes ish
I know a lot of vr gamers run potato cpus on 4090s because muh gpu bound but it's an awful experience lows matter 100x more than avg/high in vr
@sullen helm
Here are the specs I've chosen so far for a $1k pre tax build. Just put in a used $400 gpu.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jHsFmC
Note: spent extra $30 on an overclockable board + $30 more for wifi.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Thermaltake View 270 Plus TG ARGB ATX Mid Tower
So those compressed air cans, I was using one to dust a screen but must have been holding the can wrong and some "juice" (liquid) squirted from the can onto the screen but then almost immediately evaporated.. any chance this stuff is going to damage the finish of the screen ?
4060 isn't that worth it lmao
Nope
For a similar price you can probably nab a 7800 used
Well everything’s possible
it all looks fine tbh
More worth it than 5070ti
Lowkey, 5070 ti value vs last gen is fine. It's just that it is NOT a generational uplift.
Just a 4070 ti super duper
The only big upgrade was the 5090
True
4070ti good because it had dual transcoder like the 4090
5080 = 4080 super duper
5070 ti = 4070 ti super duper
5070 = 4070 super?
i cant see any odvous tarnishing of the screen surface that could have been caused by this so im just checking to see if it could
At the cost of 1-3k, and burning power cables
Small price to pay for the best. You can buy a new house, but you can't buy a new 5090
Lmfao
It’s extremely unlikely, that is just compressed air
It's what makes the hole in our ozone, but is so tiny that it doesn't really do much
i just want my laptop to run something but theyre all more expensive than the gpu I would want to put in it would cost
Egpus = need to invest more at first then commit to laptops forever and use the egpu for new laptops without a dgpu going forward
High investment cost, decent longterm use
Good if you will always use a laptop, bad vs a pc
At 750 the 5070ti is about 12% better performance than the 4070ti super and has a price $50 less than the msrp of that card meaning you get actually like 20% better performance per dollar.
HOWEVER.
If you adjust the price of the 5070ti to what it actually is since there’s literally only one card at msrp, at $900 the 5070ti is actually the same price to performance ratio as a 4070ti super at $800.
THEN.
If you look at the 5070ti’s that cost over 900 you’re actually getting WORSE price to performance than the 4070ti super at $800.
Whomp whomp.
Conclusion? Buy 5070ti only if you have a 4070 non ti non super or worse and try to get the msrp one. Don’t pay more than $800 for a 5070ti because if you do, you might as well just try to find a used 4070ti super.
but it was a liquid on the screen which is not ment to happen unless you hold the can wrong like i did .. so i do wonder
Is it safe to run a GTX 1080 with a 7800x3d with a 700w powersupply?
Why are you using a 1080
or NO2
No it’ll blow up lol
Esp non Ti
Because I don't have a new GPU yet
How'd you manage a 7800X3D but not like 330ish for some midliner GPU
Nothings wrong, study chemistry or physics
I use iGPU, and nothing is wrong with it
They're good GPUs, but not when paired with a CPU that obviously can do better with a newer card
Well 700 is not much. What risks are with using a low wattage power supply?
Wild. I’m on a 4070ti super and I’m gonna wait a good while before upgrading. Maybe the 50 series super refresh, maybe 60 series, maybe longer. Who knows.
500w is too ridiculous to spend on gpu power for 10 extra frames and 800 extra bucks
Haven't bought the gpu yet and I still have my old GPU
and the chance to melt
my cpu can do better with a newer card too, i just have not had any reason to upgrade as of late
Fair enough, it'll work for now
i have a meer 3060
Thought it was made of mostly refrigerant and only part of that is co2
dont see me upgrading for a long time
7800x3d is a baller cpu friend got one from walmart of all places way below market value if i caught that i would not have got my 9800x3d
I gave my girlfriend my old pc with a 3060 12gb in it. Still a very capable card at 1080p.
That's an understandable reason, only upgrade when you can't run what you like, eh?
1080 is still midliner gpu
Lower end midliner, 1080Ti is a different story
I got a 480hz monitor coming soon... I may need a 9800x3d
700fps in cs and lol
My 7600x is gonna struggle
7600x is fine
Valo is probably close to 480
yeah, currenly i only have a 1080p monitor too, so dont have to render as many pixels either
yeah but recent games only is a unoptimized contest
its why I like forza horizon\
they are the example of how to optimize modern games
Forza horizon is a godsend
i was wrong is mostly a hydrocarbon like butane or propane
I still play fh4 at 120fps on my rog ally z1 extreme
but it i under high pressure in the can keeping it a liquid
Modern games? Nah, all we're running is HL2 4K 144Hz
im running at 1440p and thankfull for DLSS lol
Too bad the 5090s don't have PhysX
I really wish other devs optimize their games than push
gpu to airconditioning tier wattages
Quick question
to play their mess
what
Whatt?
and no suppourt for 32 bit cuda
How would Need For Speed MW 2013 run with an i5 12400F & 6800 on 1440p :3
good enough
so its still not likey to damage the screen right ?
Don't forget that the watts used = heat added to your room. So it is an electric heater... you may need to account for double the wattage to run a window ac unit
honestly most newer graphically intenive games are kind of miserable gameplay wise imo. they release in unfinished states to make money
I want to relive the days of trolling cop AI with the Ariel Atom
5 FPS on Borderlands 2
yeeep, terrible pick for tropical countries
that cpu+gpu combo aged really well, lots of vram, doesn't explode
yep! those hydrocarbons evaporate quickly
wonderful for the wintertime great lakes region however
sooo I am definitely now a iGPU supremacist
specially 780m and above now climbing to real gpu territory
Good CPU, good GPU with no VRAM based bottlenecks, and cheap
yeah it gets sub 60 fps in 32 bit cuda games
The next gen apu from amd is pretty much just a small gpu with the cpu. But the chip is massive and unlikely to come to pcs
I built a theoretical case from the ground up with it and barely broke 680
thats cool
would really make a lot of headroom for AMD market share vs team green though\
since note there are a LOT of people using laptops
I like my surface pro, nice and quiet and has enough power to play some light 3d games
8060s, it's as fast as the 4070 laptop according to rumors
Dang
these kind of data makes gpus more irrelevant
If they got an 8060s speed gpu in a desktop cpu for a good price, then amd could actually get a decent marketshare
But their last gen of apus kinda sucked for the price
I think it should be close
a little slower then 4070m which is impressive, enough gpu power for 1440p gaming
some laptops aint
like you cant see a ryzen 9 with 1650 performance at sub 600 new
True, but you can sometimes see a ryzen 7 7735hs + 7700s for $700
I got it for $600 actually
During bf+cm
is it normal for my gpus idle temp to be 23 degrees celcius?
depends on the place, but given that that same spec is not 700 usd but 1000 usd
thats like a slightly warm room temp
yes
If amd made an ITX board with an igp thats desktop 5070ti power DGPUs are basically obsolete
ok thank you
This goes on sale often https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-tuf-gaming-a16-16-165hz-gaming-laptop-fhd-amd-ryzen-7-7735hs-with-16gb-ddr5-memory-radeon-rx7700s-512gb-pcie-ssd-off-black/6560989.p?skuId=6560989
It used to be $700 consistently, but this time they made it $750, idk why
I got it for $600
Can someone tell me a cheap motherboard that supports ryzen 5 1600af and 1050Ti
Something something probably tariffs adding 10% to the cog
thats a bargain for 600
would have bought that one if available here, sadly its 900 here
my gpu idles at 800 degrees kelvin should i turn it into a forge for iron
and 900 is too much for me
Any cheap am4 motherboard from ebay that works
only8gb vram rip if was 12+ would be perfect
like an a320 mb?
Unfortunate, Canada or eu?
Middle east
and the best deal is a ryzen 9 7940hs with 780m for 600 sub slightly,
Probably because of the pic of starfield. Instant devaluation
7700s is not the fastest, but still a good deal. I don't think it needs 12gb
go to bed bro
I'd just avoid laptops there tbh
for a friday?
yeep
I only got a laptop for my wife.
I bought myself an rog ally z1e for when I travel - as it's faster than my 8750h + 1070 max q laptop(that has no batteries, over heats, and the fans are loud)
on a note, this vivobook r9 will be my wife's when I go vacation in 10 months
then I buy myself a proper next gen igpu laptop
Ooo, I spend too much
this is good for her since her laptop is a aging LG laptop
yea something like that
I have a pc + rog ally + unused half broken laptop(I can fix it but it's too slow tbh)
My wife has a desktop + laptop that I showed
like.... 15 years old
its for my brother for his 1st pc
Nah that's slower than a phone
yeeep, well back then she needed a laptop with very small budget
Any Samsung phone with dex + monitor would be a better pc
so I bought based on that budget specifically back then
and she wasnt my wife yet back then
I bought my wife(back then gf) a switch
But built her a 1700 + rx 580 pc for cheap later
LUCKILY IT WAS AM4, she's still using the pc but with a 5700x3d, rx 6600, and a new case
The am4 board at the time was $50
have to upgrade her engagement switch to marriage steam deck
Lol she wants another art monitor
She has a Wacom at her desk + 165hz monitor + a mobile drawing monitor for when she travels already...
Consumerism in the US is insane
0 debt though, never get into debt for wants
well bought my wife similarly--- except a smartphone
I got my wife the s24+ a few months ago
S24+, samsung watch, galaxy ring, and the buds3 pro xd
mine is abit on the red recently since my mom passed away suddenly--- and I had to return to my home 4 days after vacation
Happy wife = happy life ig
That's unfortunate, you should take a longer vacation if possible
And don't spend on tech - it can wait. In fact, the longer you wait, the better the tech is for less
cant afford that one man, but I use my anguish of not being able to give her the best is driving me to new speeds at work
using new tech at every turn
Just don't burn out
like AI--- I was just spectating casually years back, I got used to it in 2 hours recently
Even more important when there are two wives 🙂
doubt ill be burnt fast, specially with AI
4 hours worth of my work cut to 30 minutes
I can't imagine having 2 wives, I don't think I'd enjoy my time
main reason rn that I wont get burned out, have to provide well for wife
I'm a dev, the ai still sucks for me unless I make it so specific that I could've finished coding it
lol! Well, I meant two lesbians, not a poly situation
but poly too
I mean.. in that case, doesn't it mean that both partners would try hard for each other
well it still has holes, but is now useful enough that you can use AI to leverage programming skills full of holes into a good low level programmer
such as me, I am one--- but too lazy to memorize commands up
It does. it's like a happy wife happy life snake eating its tail
but I can definitely form code, and AI exponentially extended my arm basically by 10x
It's been shown that using AI too much measurably lowers your cognitive ability. Be careful
Why do women gotta be so pretty
My wife is staying at home - kinda jealous of her lifestyle lol. But she is studying art
its more like depends on how you use it, I use it as tool
it lowers your cog if you use it as average workload
but at cinebench tiers, such as invention stuff where you cant cover all fields
AI can help you achieve making your invention come true instead of fail 80% of the time
is crucial p3 plus good enough or is there something better at a similar/lower price, thinking of getting it for my laptop which uses gen 3
what price can you get it for?
Stuff from teamgroup and sometimes the msi m482 if you want 2tb
Boinkiv
yeah @red badge, please dev it deeper
Guess what
I need it for me to cover my weakness in some areas, trying to develop a new type of engine
Around $65 for 1tb
you bought one?
A teamgroup nvme ssd is either faster for the same price or the same for a lower price
Take a look at the Teamgroup MP44L. You might be able to get that for less
gpu?
Yes
6800 for $270 is insane
well its decent price
Good condition too, PowerColor
Insane in these trying times*
16GB Red Devil
make sure it doesnt have burn mark
3070s are cheaper but not worth it
I got my 6800xt for $350. I see it being bought for $450-$500 now.
So adjusting it down to the 6800, $270 is a great deal
that brand tends to have burnt out 6000 series the past few years
Testing available
then yeah, get it
I have an asus tuf 6800xt, I love asus's products, just hate their customer support
Give it till summer till I have some moneh
Asus genuinely makes good products and has good ideas - they just have a bad support system
Oh yeah it is quite cheaper i can get one for $57.50
And pricing
ASUS; Good products, bad people handling
That too, sometimes overpriced - but the used market cuts it down to the rest
Used asus 6800xt was the same price as the other 6800xt
ASUS 5090 asking 1k more for cables that don't burn:
Faster and more tbw too, so overall a better ssd
No XTs here, like literally
Around.. 3 On sale at any given time in total
Asus 5090 also had checks on each cable
And a rear fan lmao
And if you had an asus psu to pair, it'd load balance
no it wouldnt
NVidia PSU
Asus psu + 5090 = load balancing + power checks, overall the safest combo
DLSS 4.0 Wattage
But expensive af
The asus thor psu has load balancing iirc, let me pull it up
300 real Watts, 700 AI Watts
the card can still melt
it is useless
the only way this can be changed is nvidia changing the way the connector is implemented and perhaps the connector as well
Fair, but asus having 2 extra important steps is not a bad thing
its a bad thing cause it does effectively nothing
if you still have 1 12v wire plugged in, you still only have 1 12v wire to loaad balance across
do you see the problem here?
That's where the other sensors on the asus 5090 comes in
It sees only 1 cable and limits it
if you use their bloatware and constantly eye for the notification
Well, on their over priced high end card
tbf, that's been a thing for intel for a long time
I mean I never said I was a fan of the 12v cable. I was just saying that asus has seemingly done the most to try to prevent damaging stuff given the nightmare that is the 12v
12v high failure rate cable
im not saying its a bad connector im saying these things youre talking about dont do anything
msi have done this also
If I believe asus at face value, they are checking voltages, connections, and load balance
im not trying to rag on you im trying to give info
the issue is that some cables or cards or something will unplug/get loose on the power wires
there is no way to load balance a cable that is physically not real
therefore the issue is not fixed
msi's version of the 12vhpwr cable @red badge
I mean the setup I was talking about had stuff on both the psu and the gpu - so it should be able to detect issues
Theoretically
if it doesnt save the card theres no point
:3
:3
and it doesnt save the card becaause it doesnt turn it off
i can now order anything from Japan
2 colours on the cable so you'd know that it's plugged in fully
because the card does not know whether there is 1 or 6 12v wires plugged into it
and it does not care
the problem lies here
can someone help im trying to fix my nvidia control panel for like a month but still nothing
the card SHOULD know how many power wires are plugged into it, or at leasat have more than 1 requirement for the card to power on
technically it is a bad connector for the current load being shoved down it
"in spec" to melt like nothing
there is not really any 1 solution we can do, we have to rely on manu engineers to actually fix it rather than giving us software bandaids
amazon or newegg
there is a fix that could have solved this tbh
xt60 2+4?
i made a post like 3 weeks ago and no one answered me
that would work as one fix, but tbh mini fit connector as a 2x6
Remember when the 5090 was rumored to have 2 of those 12v cables... it may have helped
Have you tried ddu then reinstalling to the new nvidia drivers?
alr thanks
I mean
Thats what XT60 would do lmao
I was more thinking of splitting 600w through 2 separate cables
Oh you mean if it messes up
did you not read this
😭
yes i reinstaled whole nvidia app 3 times
minifit connector pins are rated for 13amps, the nano/micro fit connectors pins are only rated for 8.5amps
Wouldn't sensors on the gpu fix it? Like sense if a wire is not properly in then shut down or go into super power saving mode
If the power delivery isn't proper*
Have communication between the psu + gpu to check the expected input
the card will draw 600w on 1 single 16awg 12v wire
The problem is lack of load balancing between the wires of the cable, not a poor connector
if you have two connectors and the same failure happens you end up with 600w on two 16awg 12v wires
would require a gate chip so, it could do possibly, however it's no better than the use of the sense cable that you can easily blank out
regardless it is out of spec
Having proper communication + sensors on both the gpu and psu can do a lot more than just check connections. It could also load balance
There are probably 999 different solutions to the issue - but none of it is cost effective to be implemented universally
um
Just give me my 8 pins back
explain why the 3090ti's 12vhpwr was perfect with no issues
(they implemented it properly)
relatable
wish I had more
I wonder if the 12vhpwr standard has any specifications on load balancing across the v+ pins
the 3090ti saw the 12vhpwr connection as 3x8pins, allowing for load balancing across 3 pairs of power wires
and it could see if they were properly connected or not
afaik, no
ok if thats true then 100% of these issues are on pci-sig
yes some amount of blame is to the aib engineers
i dont think the pcie 8 pin or 6 pin has load balancing specs. its up to the implement
mini fit sigma
mini fit being the normal one til pcie 5 power cable
nano fit being basically what nvidia is now using
the connectors differences
those are expensive-ass connector sets
god mega-fit is probably $20 a connector
but it looks so COOL
we could have just been just using minifit connectors still
instead of 2x4 in multiple sets, a straight up 2x6/2x8 would have worked straight away
maybe we should just do what the car industry does for their 10,000A 12VDC connections:
tbh yeah lets commit to that board mounted power connector
such tiny cables
Bro is flabbergasted over me booping his nose
wire current loads per distance @azure topaz
yeah instead of melting connectors we get fucking fires awesome
its now too ridiculous that gpu power needs to be designed to the mb
use xt60
itd be so ezpz
REDUCE PIN COUNT
motherboards with extinguishers
15a/12ga looks good

Fun fact about electricity; power companies typically use dc for long distances because ac will have far more losses over the same distance
Ah I get it now
https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/s/jNsxl5AjIJ
I'm only half kidding, honestly I'd be down for GPU connectors that are just two big bolt-down terminals. If you put a little cover on it, I'm sure you could make it look "gamer". Bonus points because it lets you route cables at 90 degrees
on 12awg you could do 20a on a short distance easily
yeah for sure
Isn't it the opposite?
No
thread-on posts so you can have styled post heads
Ac became popular because dc couldn't go very far
Which is why our psus convert ac to dc
xt60 might actually work here guys
btw is anyone here using one of those frankenstein x99 xeon combos from aliexpress?
I feel like you're trolling
i dont recommend it
i mean yeah its janky as hell
but. miyconst on youtube is very informative when it comes to thosee
hey guys i got a question, how come discord picks up my system audio even with my mic disconnected?
I know this because my dad (now is retired) has his masters in electrical engineering, and worked on the 500kv transmission lines
please get all your info from him and his sourcees
On my channel I am testing different computer hardware and software.

that screw shoved there is triggering
hes the china mobo guy
thanks! any specific video you recommend as a allrounder cautionary tale or just ANY
I initially read that as misogynist
lol Civ 7 is currently a mess @rigid fjord
whatever fits your board, hes probably done a review/video on what you have
okay thanks again!
mhmm mhm yw
or xt90
hows it acting?
lots of OP stuff
I really wonder why, but I wanna buy that thing
Yup, there's the added context. DC is only better at very high voltages going very long distances
Otherwise, ac is typically better for distance runs
too much exploits, like you can triple stack catherine the great perks ingame
\
TLDR: all wires will have resistance of course, but AC current also incurs resistance because of the fluctuating magnetic field, which doesn't happen in DC. This is why power companies often build big expensive converters that convert AC to high voltage DC for long distance transmission, and then convert it back when it gets there. If the wire is long enough, the power savings make it worth converting. Your friendly neighborhood power pole is def AC though
originally, Nikola Tesla invented AC to make it easier to build electric motors
Whats your source?
physics and wikipedia
bro is into electricity
anderson connector 😉
or have a roman LEGION beat a modern tank(just like a FX 8370X3D beating Ultra 7 285V)
@rigid fjord
😳
if we use the price of 14 cents per kwh, and it takes about 2.5 kwh to desalinize 1 cubic meter of water, and theres, 1,3 billion cubic meters of water... wouldnt it only cost like 378 million to turn all that water into drinking water, this is of course ignoring the dead animals from removing the salt, but thats kinda wild that you could make all that drinking water using reverse osmosis

Fx 8370x3d?
what
metaphorical, but would be fun seeing
I'm a quantum physicist and computer engineer who works at a quantum computing company doing atomic simulations
but more impressive; my 4080 Super can hold +1650MHz VRAM clocks 😎
I don't know a ton about ASRock PSUs, but this looks like a decent bundle

Fx failed for a reason
i dont think you quite understand why fx was as bad as it was

B570 and 650W PSU for $279
cheaper to dig at a natural spring and pump from an aquafer
Gimme :3
Where do you store the clean water? Since if you put it back into the ocean- surely it's a lot less efficient at cleaning the salt lol
link above 🙂
Omw to drive there and consume them
i mean you could pump it back into the ocean...
lol
in my stomach
- It's been under heated debate for years: How many cores do AMD FX processors actually have? The content in this video gets very technical, so I invite you to pause and rewind segments that you many have subconsciously brushed-over. This was interesting to learn, and I hope you're able to pull something out of this as well.
FACEBOOK: https:...
time traveller: "oh gee I hope I didn't mess up the timeline"
the timeline: AMD Ryzen 7 FX-8350X3D DESTROYS the Intel Pentium 7
You put it back into the ocean. Then you now have the same volume of water that has salt - just less of it
Idk why, but my brain went to thinking about lga 771 quad core xeons when seeing this
I'm sure the desalination plants are based on volume of water - not the amount of salt
eventually you would keep going and that would remove all the salt...
True, it would just take a lot longer than your initial calculations
Pentium 7, stuck at 14nm +++++++.....

@trim idol wanna see a funny cpu?
don't you put the clean water... into the water system? like, that's the part you drink?
always
OOH okay desalinating the ocean, gotcha
Well if we're talking about cleaning the entire ocean
Lol
Intels way of getting quad cores
what the.....
anderson connectors, and more secure than the xt60/90
Did best buy forgor to drop their 5070TIs?
"It's one CPU... I swear"
Oh btw I used an fx cpu! They pretty much gave it for -$50 but only if I got a motherboard + gpu with it
Yes, intel essentially duct taped 2 cpus together to make a quad core
basically 2 c2ds
this chip was designed by a junior engineer, John Ryzen, who would later leave Intel and found his own company; AMD
it would be hard to realistically do an implement like this through 2 pins cause even 12ga wire only does like 20a
Fx 8320 was free, r9 380 was -$50, but I had to also buy a motherboard
They were trying to get rid of fx + motherboard stock lol
it was more so, how it wouldnt take that much and some of the more wealthy people could actually do it and make, more drinking water for the world,
I still have an FX 8350 system. I kinda love it. I call it big red
Cant tell if you’re joking or not
do i be a dumbass
me who causally has wired up 10awg with 30a
No
it is literally exactly two C2Ds, they literally just took two dual-socket CPUs and put them in the same socket. They arn't even plugged into each other, they communicate through the chipset 😭
well i mean im goin by spec
oof
20a/ft
Iirc, it's cheaper to send water over than to build plants, pay for workers, maintain the plant, and get the fresh water back in many countries
Yes and no
Hence why we send water instead of doing all that
imagine a 7950X3D except with no I/O die. The CCDs are synchronized through your chipset
I used to daily drive an lga 771 system @limpid dune
yes but 12v 30a, so............
They do act as 1 cpu and work very well for that
insane how i've upgraded my pc to where i'm happy it being in the recommended sections, kindof my dream ;D
360w on 2 wires
Desalination plant = land, workers, upkeep, electricity.
To get that electricity, you need a better source of electricity in many areas that need fresh water.
So now you need to pay for a better energy source + power plant, then you keep going down the line.
But shipping water over or building a well is cheaper in most areas
@trim idol whats worse about that; is that my 2008 mac pro that i used to daily had 4 cpus (technically speaking)
820 for a new 7900xt is under resale price right?
ayy, I have an FX-8350 that I daily at 5.0GHz. it can hit 5.2GHz if I put it outside on a snowy day because canada
It was using lga 771 with ram that is notorious for running hot as fuck
I have mine up around 5GHz as well.I forget exactly where it sits.
Cad or us?
also not a long term solution though
True, but the cost to set it up + maintain is so prohibitively high that they can't afford the upkeep
I mean, the LGA771 still used the old system where the MMU was in the chipset, so all RAM signals had to go through the chipset (because that's where the RAM was connected). Doodoofart latencies were just kind of normal
It's pretty decent right now
still be safer than using nano-fit
Like shipping water tends to be cheaper than the upkeep
RAM latencies? what's an L3 cache? cmon bro, it's 2005 and the new pentium 4 can hit 3.5 GHz
Build a well whenever possible ofc
US
Fun fact, in some places in Mexico, Coca-Cola was cheaper than fresh water. So they drink a lot of coke instead, ruining their health
though anderson connectors are a bitch to pull apart without an added in handle for them @azure topaz
one must imagine sisyphus trying to remove an ATX motherboard connector
Imo probably not worth. It was much cheaper until recently, and the 9070xt is likely to be about the same performance for less if it doesn't go out of stock
the big power one, idk what it's called
24 pin?
yeah, the 24 pin. they should make skyscrapers out of those things, given how strong they are
The gigabyte ax370 rev1 board I have in my wife's system is a little irregular and not the standard atx board... so it overhangs a bit with non standard screw holes on the right side(so I can't screw them down). So whenever I plug and unplug the 24 pin, I have to hold it from behind or else it flexes lol
it's just a 2x12 molex 5557 connector tbf
I think a keyboard for the first time has given me mental illness
a cherry viola k60 board with SA keycaps is not the play
12VHPWR
- 600W
- 12 pins, small
- catches fire, weak aura
24-pin ATX
- 150W
- 24 chunky pins (feat. sensing lines)
- not one single fire in 40 years of use
why doesn't nvidia simply use 4 24-pin connectors for the 5090?
Is it hard to type on?
this fucking this is HIDEOUS
tried downloading windows to my new ssd still ain’t working but if this helps i already have windows on my old ssd cause this is a prebuilt
it's not really hard to type on it's just really really really weird
Why doesn't nvidia just attach a psu to the card and let us plug it into the wall?
the pressure curve is absurd
going from 45 grams to something like 80 on the bottom out
why does nvidia bother with VRMs? simply feed 120VAC directly into the silicon, this will cause 0 issues I'm sure
the RGB is really pretty but man this thing is weird all around
Just up the frame gen every year too
no wonder cherry violas didn't take off
Instead of upgrading things, release 6x frame gen
@azure topaz@lapis condor@left dove mc4, best one to handle 600w over 2 wires
too bulky
"but the AC signal will mean the GPU reboots 60 times every second" okay??? so?? it'll just generate one frame every time it reboots, easy
see theres this thing called a rectifier
Eventually we'll have mini fusion generators, we can get one specifically for the new nvidia xx90 gpu in 2090
nah, it would mean the gpu comes with the wire to directly plug into the psu
What fresh hell is this conversation?
Time to make a new topic.
Samsung dex is the future of computing
i have no clue
When our phones are fast enough - we can use our phones as pcs anywhere
Woot! I just sold my i7 9700k system with a B580 GPU for $750
technically already out, but takes a long time to build, produces 5MW per reactor
Just get a nexdock or something
Fusion or fission?
Awesome
I want my already existing 5MW fusion reactor 😄
I've already laid in my supply of tritium
Fusion has only recently been net positive in energy
can't remember which, but they're known as SMR's
I want mini fusion generators that are just attached to my house. I'll get a 2nd one for my xx90 gpu
It would be fission. that's where atoms are split
Commercial Fusion is still 10 years away
Yea, fission is the only one that we can actually do for a profit lol
Always 10 years away
10 years = Soon(TM)
What will come out first, fusion generators or elder scrolls 6?
ES6 was announced in 2018
It's been 7 years
Just 10 more to go!
i blew the power grid 4 times in separate countries and now i am globally wanted for millions worth in damages trying to make a fusion generator
how could i see msrp for sapphire pulse rx 6600 xt 8gb?
by googling it
why
this image is AI
It's actually surprisingly easy to mess up the grid in at least a smaller area
we are so cooked
How?
Very helpful, thanks
yw
ai has figured out how to do what happens to cameras in low light conditions
we are cooked
the prompt was just anicent china
a trollface
doom
Doom
i thought doom takes up more space than that
You can cave dive in it
Draw a copy of the Mona Lisa on the cover
where could i find a 1.5mb version of doom
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cc1j-MbVVA apparently soon to be able to have a mini reactor in a 40t container's footprint
Kaleidos is a portable fission microreactor being developed by Radiant.
Developed using modern hardware-in-the-loop simulation technologies and high fidelity simulation provided by the U.S. national labs, Kaleidos aims to provide clean, reliable power to remote communities and emergency services.
Definitely fission, but still cool
gog.com maybe
Is it just my system or cinebench sucks at loading x3d cpus?
Doesn't take advantage of the l3 cache
cinebench shows more for production use, and tbf the cache isn't a great use for that
The L3 cache is shared across all cores, so its most useful for workloads where the cores need to swap data, or one core picks up another core's work.
Cinebench doesn't do that as much. Each core gets its task and does it till its done, so it doesn't need to swap data with other cores.
For instance sandboxes make my 7800x3d generate more heat than cinebench
with non x3ds it's the opposite
yeah, probably a lot of core hopping for sandboxes
found the old image i wanted, @azure topaz this gives you a general idea of what each gauged wire can max out at
Explains
P95 hmmm
nice
cinebench and 3Dmark overwhelmingly prefer Intel silicon 😅 they don't do as much of a pointer-chasing workload as, say, a badly-written Unity game
@limpid dune how did you get 1000 Mhz on VRAM
Shit's crazy out there. This is more than I paid for thsi card...
jeeze
I still don't have a German accent lmfao
like for me anything above 930 causes either crashes or driver timeouts
Universe sandbox, max out settings before the engine gets hammered for maximum gpu heat!
4080 Supers are weird; Nvidia specced them with 26Gb/s VRAM but they're clocked at 24Gb/s inorder to match the 4080 non-super. So you can basically bump them up to 26.5Gb/s with no fear.
Other cards will behave differently, but yeah, I added a +1650MT/s offset to my VRAM and it's stable, giving me ~13,000MT/s total
So
||with that plus an undervolt, it's almost as powerful as the 5080 😭 😭 😭 ||
not 40 series
I need an at least 500gb 2280 m.2 sata drive
I fully know nvme is faster, but the computer only takes m. 2 sata
Where does one find such drive that's reliable?
teamgroup MP33
4080 super ti
Where do you live
oh wait no
remember that 40 series GPUs use PAM4 signalling on the VRAM bus, which means there are effectively 8 transfers per clock. the true VRAM clock is 1438MHz but there are 11,500MT/s
the teamgroup MS30 is the sata.
https://www.amazon.com/TEAMGROUP-512GB-Solid-State-Drive/dp/B07H21182F/
Thanks, will note that down
I have one of those in a system rn 🙂
Oh
Yeah, note that one down, not the first one, lol
Yup, just edited the note
also why did I even need to OC my RX Vega 56 just so Persona 3 Reload wouldn't stutter
yet another american system which makes no sense. Why increasing number means decreasing diameter 😄
Basically when a have a bit more cash to spare, I'll fully fix my macbook
It has a known issue of display cable frying the mainboard, so I'll retrofit like a portable monitor into it, just so it can be used as a laptop again because currently it is on the edge of that issue
lmao
Fooled some of my classmates that i know hacking
Does anybody in here have a setup with 90x60 table setup?
I wonder what can i do for mine to make it look better
types in "ancient china"
AI draws neon lights
"SO REALISTIC"
Anybody knows if i can put normal sized graphics card in a mini atx case i have sent the parts i have on the right
what is a zipbomb and what happens to my pc if i uhh, unzipped it?
tbf there's also swg which is numbered the same, where the higher number = lower current rated wire capacity, i.e. 30awg/swg = 1 amp
btw rtx laptops havent gone up in price
so ppl can go for those if youre looking to get sm new instead of a gpu
its still funny i can sell my used gpu for more than i bought it rn
sigh
They actually launched it this time? Not a paper launch?
Surprising
wdym, the 4070 super has been out for a while now
💀
Oh im tripping i just saw the 70 and assumed it was a 5070 lmao
A dual for €799..
this used to be listed at 1800 just before
even pc builders are raising prices
and its used
PC so expensive now, thats why i havent gotten a new one in around a decade
Gpu prices are sort of stagnating both used and new
I definetly would like a new and better machine but its just too much
Nvydia created new mini crisis
these were 500 just 6 months ago...

can you fit an big 3 fan rx 6800 in a mini atx case?
2700$
Its been used for 8 months
oh wait its 4090 not 5090
Yeah
nvm
Ridiculous
Everything else is just negative. Another point of failure (bad connection etc), costs money
Im so awkward dude
My boss got emotional today because she was quittin and cried with me and 1 coworker. I didnt know what to say to her so patted her on her back and i said "it's gonna be alright" and left for lunch 😭😭
So i've realized the new gpu i'll have has newer pcie, and my motherboard do be ancient, i'm kinda sad and bit stressed, i've seen how the gpu performs generally and i wonder if it's going to be rly bad that it's on a motherboard like in the image text?
you might be able to still find a dual fan asus 7900gre just like that on amazon. last time i checked it was actually from amazon uk
a 7900xt is cheaper here
yeah but there are no dual fan versions i kno of
guys will chieftronic powerplay 750fc 80 gold be enough for r7 5700x3d and 7900 xt (PERHAPS maybe even XTX not sure) ?
oh i thought u were looking for parts lol, 6950xt is god tier
ehhh i got it used and it doesnt feel too greta bth
tbh*, im probably upgrading my cpu tho
Put it into pc parts picker and check wattage and if it’s at least 100-200 above the recommended then you’re good
how come thermal paste doesnt spill off the cpu edges?
Friction and physics
650W with a 7900 XTX would most likely work as well.
CPU 200W max ish
GPU 370W max ish
Rest of system maybe 30W
im just asking cuz its so weird how people put so much thermal paste sometimes and it just doesnt spill lol. probably something to do with surface tension
wanna get this
ye but transiest spikes ( around 450w as far as i see on web ) look scary on xtx
why does that actually seem so cheap
its not too bad
its average amazon prices
plus free shipping
amazon so expensive sometimes in us
theres way better laptop deals here
The PSU should be able to handle transient spikes unless its garbage.
Im personally on a 12900k and rtx 3070 with a 550W or 650W psu (dont remember)
It also probably does when the cpu heats up and the paste becomes more viscus
u think the psu is good built tho? Its placed high in A tier on cultist tierlist but i cant find any reviews on net about it
If it’s name brand and high star rating with a decent amount of reviews you’ll be alright homie
Just as long as it isn’t some hella cheap one
if it's on the tier list. but still you should be able to find reviews for it.
i accidentally deleted my message lol
Why the dude with the 2070 delete his question its valid, no stupid questions in of building just stupid fuck ups
mistake bro
guys how many pins does a 5080 need and a 5090 too pls
All good
What was the question
yeah u wont notice too much until you turn on fram gen ||(joke lol)||
Does anyone know the preformance increase i will have switching from a rtx 2070 super to a 5070ti in After Effects?
some good dealss here for eu peeps
what i meant to say
https://gaminglaptop.deals
@warm sage daily laptop deals
A pretty good increase in performance like very noticeable
4080 laptop for 1900 usd on here rn
its there but theres not many reviews about it
which one?
chieftec / chieftronic powerplay gold
Probably double the performance
thats amazing then cause the 8gb vram currently isn’t holding its own weight

8gbs won’t do you good in 2024 the 16 will be a huge boost also with the better and way more cuda cores
It comes next week i managed to get #2 queue postion in scan UK for the gpu
Hell yeah
holy crap what
its a damn good deal
I'm certain there would be a massive difference there.
we dont have deals like that here xd
I hope you were able to get the msrp btw
Msrp doesn’t exist 😂
oh my thank you, much love, i had such panik, didn't know they had that on the website, calmed me down by a lot gawd daym xd
So as long as you're not editing raw 4k or 8k footage anyway. Lol.
Umm about that…
Yeah you’re right 💀 I would have waited personally but if you didn’t then who cares, you’re money and your time

I paid £900 for the white gigabyte one
😐
is this a decent build (my first ever build and it is £823.50)
Well i upscale from 1080p to 4k then put it into after effects
If it says ssd required, can I still use an hdd (its the only one I have rn with enough storage)
Damn rip youll probably be happy with it either way considering the boost you’ll get from the 2070
Was wondering too, technically im in recommended section, unless ssd is very big deal for them
I would reccomend AMD for that budget, but it looks decent
I even dropped another 240 on a new case and aio
What did you get
Hold up. Why wouldn't you upscale in AE rather than before? Like what's the thought process here even?
anyone here know the difference between acer predator helios and triton?
ae doesn’t have it built in?
Is amd more efficient than intel for light tasks?
Depends on for what
lmao i paid msrp in my country for the gigashit eagle oc one
I'd imagine they're around the same or the difference is very marginal, enough not to matter.
First one is gpu sag btw
I can’t believe i paid an extra £80 cause i want a screen on my aio
Is it possible to use plugins to solve or is that another thing AE can't do either?
I wanted to so bad when I was building mine a few months ago but I didn’t wanna shill the money out I already spent 2100 usd
isn't an issue if you get a decent psu
its only £80 its fine
wait i think i saw a plugin which intoplates and upscales
balls fucking chat was scrolled up
woohooo pizza for dinner
ignore that i'm going to blow myself up bye
That makes it £180 total for the aio
for an aio its really bad pricing for sure
also should i buy the evangelion perfume/cologne
or maybe the tensura perfume/cologne
what cpu you getting
But screen though
Well now you noticed then. Lmao.
im just upgrading the gpu and everything else is looks like the case and aio
just put a raspberry pi screen in the case lol
What cpu are you running?
lmfao
oh
got a used gpu Sapphire RX 6600 XT
Pulse OC for 185eur, msrp around 400ish eur
alright ig
is that a good combo?
5070ti/5900x?
Possibly might run into a heavy cpu bottleneck but I mean who cares
You could upgrade later you’ll already get a good performance boost
What I was with my 5600x and 4070 ti super
Yh
And how is that a bottleneck exactly?
The option i had was upgrade to am5 and get the best ram and cpu available now or new gpu
Solely for gaming or also for heavy video editing too?
Gaming too
just scored a free lenovo think centre
I was running 100% cpu and like 70% gpu gaming
If the latter, then I'd take a point given from a guy who runs a studio for a living from last night and just... Not upgrade to anything with DDR5, if you also value stability.
On which games exactly?
is thgis a good pc build (my first build and it costs £823.55)
Well, if you also use high-res cameras too with some specific hardware setups anyway.
But speed
Go on am5 so its future proof
Am4 has no more room to grow
Cinema-grade setups are fairly unusual in their requirements.
what is a am5
socket
A socket type.
its the clipset
oh ok
No. It's literally a socket type.
AM5 is better than AM4 by AM1
what he said
Space marine 2
chipset* and you are still wrong
i will look for a better one
They already got that. Lol.
Better what?
Any AMD 7000 or 9000 CPUs
Why is that?
motherboard because the person said am4 is bad
when i try filter it for am5 it only comes up with am4
always best to have two inputs than one
Thoughts? I am really interested about your opinions about am4
hate on am4 💔
Am4 isn’t bad its just has NO ROOM for upgrades and there’s newer and better for the same prices or similar
this is beyond stupid
Do you have an am4 CPU already selected
My 5800X3D still beats 14700 in most gaming workloads
i think so
That is why you're only getting AM4 boards
Something more than likely to do with DDR5's nature of operation, especially on the current systems that use that memory type, though it's probably something very specific in technicality and I'm not entirely sure of what that would be.
it is a AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 3.4 GHz 8-Core Processor
This feels like it was made when Zen1 came out
looks like 2017
ok let me try help you out let me go on pc part picker
ok
Too many people helping out E
yup that extra cache is insane
Go submit a #1106613567966429224
it is very good i need alot of help#
wish i had people help me with e
i did alrwady
Hmm I do hope my new keyboard ends up being nice. It's semi mechanical
Yeah
AM5 is 7000 and 9000 series CPUs
Mecha membrane. I think I can deal with that
wellll
8000
/8000 series APUs
there is ryzen 8000
Yooouu sure it's not something like this per chance?
https://steamcommunity.com/app/2183900/discussions/0/4852155593258042815/
but we do not talk about those
I'm not entertaining this
this is my first ever pc build
I mean ryzen 8k is good for just APUs.
No, you need gnrh agonists
And iirc really good at ram overclocking cause APU go brrrr
i need an upgrade because rn i have a laptop with a 3080 ti
monolithic
i think
Wrong channel
14700kf benchmark from a psychopath
Gpu prices are absolutely shit used and new so being under £860 is hard i suggest waiting for the 50 series to cool down then buy
That's the big thing that makes the difference for ram OC fr
Hm interesting I’m only on the gaming side of pcs so I didn’t know that
oh
But what about 65w
Up for now my tc1 lovelys ❤️
Could have been that’s around the time I got the game, got my new pc last last month
my laptop is 3080 laptop gpu , 11th gen intel core i7 11800h 2.30ghz
Old system is still running good cpu at 11 degeres celcius constantly and gpu is at 40 celcius
Idk, 300w 8p cores in linpack>>>>
Then in other words, it's probably a software issue, not a bottleneck issue.
@weary nacelle whats your max max price for the pc alone
around 800
I can power both my cpu and my 6800XT with that
Fair enough I stand corrected thanks homie
yes it is
it can go abit above tho
And I'm saying that as someone running a 7900XT, which is close to the same performance as a 4070 Ti Super... Paired with a Ryzen 3600.
that would mean his room is 51 degrees fahrenheit
you cant have a computer colder than the ambient temperature of your room
I can power my R5 5500 and rx570 4gb with that 🥴
myfault
