Honestly. Not really, if your 4080 does what you want and plays the games at frame rates you like. I can’t justify it.

If someone was building a new machine from scratch, then it depends on how much you’re willing to spend and what you plan to play at what resolutions. Right now 40series cards are second hand only at a price I can’t justify

I did the same, I asked on this same channel, I watched Linus’ and Steve’s benchmarks, and I decided that for my use case which will be 1080p with a potential 1440p display upgrade down the line. A 5080 is what I would like.

I understand you're frustrations. Like I said, a 1440p display upgrade will come down the line at some point, as for the 4080super alternative, the US market at least where I am has been completely unreasonable where I can't get a 4080 super from MSI, Gigabyte, Asus, or Zotac for a reasonable price. Id be paying way more now for a 4080 super than I would for a 5080, and have no warranty. A 4080 super from Zotac on amazon which is sold by a 2nd hand market place is $1600. I have bought second hand PC parts in the past and have never once had a good experience. So respectfully I will pass on that.

I once even was reluctant of accepting AMD cpus during 3rd gen ryzen, but for my new build ive decided I wanted to switch it up, i saw the reviews for the core ultra, i saw the performance benchmarks for Ryzen 7000x3d vs 14th gen, and i saw that AMD was supporting the AM5 socket up until 2027. Even some friends who have used AMD cpus currently with 3rd and 5th gen Ryzen have told me theyve had no complaints about its performance. So my build im working has a 9800x3d 😄
