Still not perfect, but that is a massive improvement.
Looking good, how do people even get it to such state
just perm stained
also around the edges of the front console in the bottom pic is not final
that was just extracted and didnt cleanup the stuff being thrown around
I would care sitting in dirt
What are those metal things for?
seats
Seat rails I assume?
yep
Some people don't care when they are sitting in a pile of dirt with bugs crawling on them.
Oh.
Funky.
i detail all our vehicles on the weekends in the summers for company i work for and make anywhere from 18-24k$ in straight cash profit every year off of it
really enjoyable side hustle
also because i do it on the weekends im not out spending money
which is the real saver
really dont need a huge investment to get into detailing either
well bois im taking off from work now so im going to head out . tis the weekend
nice chatting
We tried to make my brothers Volvo a bit better also by cleaning it and putting it in a 4-layer class coating
oooh
It's a Metallic Black, idk the exact color name
You know what, if you could somehow make that tape into something that lasts longer it might be a neat look.
vinyl
Had some help by a friend who does it for a living
tron car
Took us 3 days
yaeh nice! learning from somoene in the industry is the best way
It really isnt t
Its makes you really proud tho
i enjoy it
it is very rewarding
5 hours on that hood
Looked nice afterwards
Is that ceramic stuff worth it in the long run?

if you are putting the work into correcting the paint make it last
What's better, ceramic coating or glass coating?
Ceramic
^

alr bois im outta here! weekend time
Your gonna want to have your cars paint fully cleaned and corrected before putting it on
I have not seen much about it after you apply it, so I'm curious about how long it lasts and if it would cause problems.
Because whats under the ceramic coat stays under
Oh yeah, totally. I'm just curious about the product.
Lasts 5-6 year
Avalon king is a good product
It fills in all the tiny little imperfections in the paint making it extremely smooth shiny and hydrophobic
@tepid wing https://youtu.be/SuUfTVf_mMU
@Ed Bolian doesn't like cleaning cars and has been skeptical of ceramic coatings since they started to become prevalent in the industry. How will he feel after he tries one out?
Armor Shield IX is the best Ceramic Coating product for automotive enthusiasts. Add protection and shine to your vehicle, that'll last a minimum of 2 years with just o...
I put a ceramic wax on mine, does that count?
Not even close lol
Peugeot's always look clean
my car needs a big polish
Big polish man?
yes
Nice
polish polishing man
So thinkibg of turning my 93 geo tracker into a drift car
Sounds dumb af but seems funny af
Why not hypermile it instead
Drifting sounds fun but I wouldn't do that at the expense of a set of tires
My car is already old, I don't want to push it any more than is absolutely necessary
my partner & I like to drift his old Civic in the winter
That looks like a lot of fun
Nice.

Okay so boys my gmc has having the stability track going off on my car I tried replugging the sensors in by my tire it’s still going out any recommendation
It's a car.
Its from a time before kia picked up being an actual competitor in europe, that's why i had to google what it is 👀
It certainly looks like a car from the 90s
That's basically what I think also.
Which is why I just said what I did "It's a car"
Cars from that age is a big hit-or-miss depending on their price and condition.
I don't know anything about kia before Hyundai/kia became an actually decent brand in Europe
Well.. except the 3 doored veloster
Which is odd
Ah it was the Shuma in Europe
Sold poorly in 🇳🇱 , basically sold just between 1999-2004, not even 1700 units total over those years
In 1999 they sold 40k Astra's alone
30k Golf's and 22k Focus's, all in the same segment as the Shuma
Noooo
Volvo?
if hyundai releases this vehicle its gonna be huge
easily the best cyberpunk-esque vehicle, absolutely drop dead gorgeous
elons cybertruck aint got nothing on it
It looks sorta similar to the Alpha 5 in a way.
Doesn't it look a bit too much like the delorean?
yeah i thinl it was the inspiration
Ah, makes sense then, yeah it looks cool
Hope the makers of the delorean don't complain about it or anything
Would be cool if the n vision became a thing
yeah though its hard to say so as the promises are quite high
afaik its gonna have like 670hp
and some insane stats
like 600km range
Doesn't sound that outrageous
I think any company can do that kind of power if they want to
Now, if it's reliable or not... That's a different topic lol
its still gonna be an hydrogen cell powered car, so thats a very new technology which may not be able to reach the desired specs
but its nice to dream of such posibilities
That's fair
Let's see how it goes
Nope: 1974 Pony Coupe Concept was the inspiration
Also why it says 74 on the front
nvm then it was that
Kind of goes along with the Ioniq 5
Hydrogen is interesting but sadly not that great to produce in the present time - it can be done fairly cleanly but the energy consumption and loss of efficiency makes it rn while energy production isn't completely renewable worse than battery EVs
EVs are pretty bad, too
EVs kinda have the same issue as long as energy is produced by burning coal
Well even if not
The production of the batteries is pretty bad
and they release ozone
They're not better and batteries are awful for the environment too
Well further, solar panels leeching heavy metals into waterways is a thing too
Its all been completely ignored
Like i honestly don't know what the plan is with all the batteries
Wind mill production requires intense VOCs for fiberglass during the creation of the fans...
It's the same plan California had for solar 20 years ago
"Just do it"
and then "we'll figure it out later"
But now they're having cadmium and selenium show up in ground water...
And you won't ever get around the emissions that get produced by the production of anything
Right
And when you do it at a larger scale it becomes more evident
It's very frustrating to think about
Where EVs are even worse than combustion
And idk where hydrogen stands in that regard
hydrogen isnt too environmentally healthy either
There are so few EVs on the road today, but man, when there is a collision that involves a fire it's epic
I like the idea that germany had - put wires above the autobahn like trains have for the trucks
then what
Decrease battery size of the trucks so they still can drive the non motorway bit to the destination
Yeah but
now you're talking super high voltage AC
As someone who grew up in Philadelphia, PA...... ....
"watch out for the third rail"
A third rail, also known as a live rail, electric rail or conductor rail, is a method of providing electric power to a railway locomotive or train, through a semi-continuous rigid conductor placed alongside or between the rails of a railway track. It is used typically in a mass transit or rapid transit system, which has alignments in its own cor...
So don't touch the third rail.
Well its a wire above the road, you kinda have to want to touch it
People treat high voltage electricity like it's something remarkably more dangerous.
Like idk we do all over Europe with our trains
Because it is
It requires less amperage to be life-ending
More so than putting a highly flammable liquid in a car?
One that's notable for catching fire at most conditions?
Overhead wires are safe unless you walk around with a ladder all the time.
This is a science experiment that we heard about in chemistry class. Our teacher told us not to try it so we did. It works because the liquid gasoline does not have the same amount of energy as the vaporous gasoline, meaning it won't combust.
Sorry for the cell phone quality image.
Physics 😉
No - that ignited the fumes, which would be an aerosol
That's now how those gas canisters work.
I have welded up fuel tanks - we run a vacuum on the vent port to evac vapor... then weld with liquid gasoline in side
🤔
Yerp
And I don't believe you.
OK, don't.
And we've been using high voltage electrical for trains for decades now.
And we've used it for buses in various other cities.
No one dies weldding
Oh they die.
Nah
@dusk ocean thats what it looks like
Yep I am familiar
In fact, the risks associated with workplace operations that include welding, cutting, and brazing result in the deaths of approximately 60 workers each year in the United States alone. This number translates to a risk of greater than four fatal injuries in every thousand workers over their careers.
People die. Deal with it.
@bitter compass we've had it before Germany
Batteries are shit at storing large amounts of energy.
Removing them from a truck or reducing the amount needed would be brilliant not just for cost and efficiency but the environment.
@dense shard Far more people die of electrocution than welding my bud
Don't move the goal posts.
I didn't
you literally said this.
Yes it's statistically inconsequential to say 60 people a year die
And how many die a year from touching the bad rail?
Or rather to be fair to the specific thing being talked about... how many die from touching the overhead wires?
how are welding and touching something you shouldnt even being compared
Because @dense shard made it so
I didn't bring up welding.
You did.
Dont shove this off onto me.
I stand by overhead gantries powering EVs as a viable and practical solution to shipping freight cross country.
Practical and safe.
Because carbon monoxide poisoning is real. Because diesel emissions are bad for the environment. And a centralized means of power generation is cleaner due to scale of economics assuming you aren't using renewables from the get go.
So yes. What Germany is testing out isn't just brilliant, but it should be straight up obvious.
Worst comes to worst Philly will spend a few extra dollars telling people not to touch the overhead wires on the roads.
And the total lifetime carbon emissions of renewables vs. coal isn't even close.
we got shown made up videos in school of kids playing on tracks and one of them giving the other person a baloon, the baloon floats up and they get blown up
very edumicational
As with nuclear fuel, batteries, and half a dozen other things. We don't recycle wind generator blades or solar panels because it isn't economically feasible.
We can, but we don't. Because building it a new and tossing the old shit is cheap.
It should also be obvious that trolley busses are better than battery busses within cities but well.. that stalemate argument but then they can divert from the route which they also could do with a smaller battery kinda destroys the discussion about that topic
Why would you need to divert?
Accidents etc or road works
Buses running on a fixed route is what maxes buses feasible in teh first place. If you need an emergency bus route or something uses something powered by biodiesel.
Roadworks don't happen suddenly. Unless your city council is filled with absolute morons.
You can work around it, with it, or plan in advance.
Accidents do happen, and need to be cleared as fast as possible. But sometimes you're going to have a few hours of delays.
Happened in Japan with trains when I was there.
It's the same freaking thing with mail trucks in the US.
Well i think its also a stupid discussion.. but muuh batteries such new
People let themselves get distracted by a 10% scenario and let that decide policy for the other 90%.
And i also think that is a bit because trolley busses are looked at as something the soviets did and thats bad...
if we have EV trucks we'd save on literally everything
waaaah but what about rural communities
They don't get direct mail deliveries anyway. They have PO BOXes
The soviets were bad yes. But believe you me, trolley buses were a cynical measure to make up for the lack of batteries and/or fuel to power said buses.
And trying to use soviet bad as an excuse for any good idea they had is a shit way forward in life. But that's dangerously close to veering into political tangents.
As someone who grew up in a rural disconnected area public transport there is literally a joke anyways, oh you have a train station? Sure trains won't drive because there is unexpected snow in winter at 1000 meters above sea level
Yes rural areas need to be taken under consideration.
But you can't let policy for literally everything else be dictated by a tiny minority.
You can still have conventional solutions for rural mail delivery... not that it is an issue in the US.
And public transport only exists because the government forces the DB to keep them because they're not worth it
Half the mail delivery people here drive imported Jeep Cherokees anyway.
Our buses were pretty solid tho.. there were times where my village was the only ones at school with the people from the local town because everything else broke down because of snow
Like they only drive like 3-4 times a day
But they actually drove
That's fine by my count.
I do enjoy how rather than improving public transport they just increase the punishment of driving
heaven forbid you provide a carrot when the stick is so much fun and that much cheaper.
theres nothing wrong with them increasing the cost of driving if they actually provide an alternative
One main issue of public transport compared to cars for people like me is just the cost - i need a car because we don't have anything in my village and for that public transport isn't running often enough, but for commuting to work where there's a connection im actually cheaper when taking the car and im faster 👀
I don't have public transportation at all.
we have it but its like 30 miles to go 5
never goes where you want
30 minutes of driving vs over 2 hours of public transport
What about the enthusiast
they can pay
Si
Why add a cost to something that's not an issue
well I guess cars present little issue in the middle of nowhere
but in cities
areas where people exist
Cars in cities are an issue, cars in rural areas are necessary
Well that's just how the city's are, if you add more public transportation, they will clutter the road. Plus then people who have to take stuff from place to place need to ask someone
So there's a need for them
its been done
Public transport actually relieves the clutter on the roads
And underground/railway exists it doesn't have to be on the road
But there's not enough as is, add more huge busses and crap then there's clutter made of them
one bus vs 30 cars
Busses are fairly inefficient public transport
A underground or train has insanely more capacity and is faster
Even a tram is better than a bus
Ok, then putting in more trains takes time, money, and is a pain
does that mean it isnt the solution
No, but it's not a bear future solution. And certainly not a mainstream one
what do you mean by not mainstream?
Even something inefficient as a bus is like 15 meters long and can replace like 20-30 cars which each is like 4 meters long + space in between
yeah busses arent great but are still alot better than cars
Buses are better than cars
Because they reduce congestion and reduce parking issues in the city
You know what else is expensive?
Adding more lanes
You know what doesn't fix congestion? Adding more lanes
And they reduce demand for parking spots which means you can give more space to pedestrians and trees and more space for pedestrians increases walkability which results in more business
- the reason why Europe has a lot of pedestrian only areas
And decreasing the amount of cars on the roads and making roads smaller makes driving also more enjoyable and less stressing
There's a reason a lot of village people hate driving in cities
Because multilaned roads with a lot of traffic weird specific turning lanes are stressing if you don't know the exact way
lots of people driving who arent comfortable with it, but its their only option
to this day i hate driving in Munich like i avoid it with any chance
I also avoid it because the company car is a i3
I like me cars but I dont really commute with them, car share with other people from my work.
daily driver will be an 80's diesel so not exactly up there on environmentalism but tis what it is
Well I'm cool with my pos car that will single handedly take like 30 years off the earth. Brap brap intensifies
wooooo new Porsche for my dads collection (84 944 in the back)
apologies for interruptin the convo
That's sick
yessiiiiir, once it’s running I gotta take pics with it and my 84 300zx
I’ve got a couple w the 924
D E L O R E A N
My favorite looking gen of the zupra imo but I'll wait for the argument
I think the current gen is damn good looking.
MK IV was just... fat.
A big blobby car.
The front looks kinda ugly
MK III looks pretty good, but it's very much 80s.
rear looks chonk
Proportionally the MK V Supra looks the best.
mk4 is just soo nice
People really don't give BMW enough credit for the B58
It's every bit as robust as the old 2JZ
How
did they fix the issue where the timing chain is on the front not the back ?
Is that an actual issue?
yes
Last I heard the timing chains don't have issues on these engines.
they still need to be replaced after some time
and taking the whole engine out to do it is the dumbest thing ever
That doesn't make them less robust?
And last I heard timing chains can last the life of the engine.
but can easily be replaced
a engine out is still more expensive
But done at a fraction of the frequency a timing belt is.
Assuming you ever need to do a chain.
50 for a belt every 2- 3 years
If you are DIY'ing it, I imagine the chain is what. 100 dollars?
or a chin every 150k km
Last I checked. The million mile Frontier had chain guides replaced at 500k.
And that was just in case.
If Nissan can do it, I imagine BMW has done it better.
wont happen
BMW is completely different compared to Nissan
BMW makes things for people with a lot of money or middle class
nissan makes everything for people below
Nissan makes things at the cheapest possible price.
Consumer be damned.
Toyota had requirements BMW had to meet before they just dropped anything in there.
still work longer than a BMW
I'd say the B58 has proven itself. I'm not seeing any timing chain issues on these motors.
Where is Toyota going bankrupt?
They were not too long ago
Toyota annual net income for 2022 was $25.366B, a 20.19% increase from 2021. Toyota annual net income for 2021 was $21.105B, a 10.49% increase from 2020. Toyota annual net income for 2020 was $19.101B, a 12.72% increase from 2019.
When?
Toyota's finances are healthier than a lot of countries.
because they make money it doesnt mean they are profitable
When haven't they been profitable, and when have they been in any danger of dying out in the last 30 years?
Say what you want, but thanks to a collaboration with BMW and Subaru. Toyota can offer affordable sports cars.
Great, find me the article, cause I'm not seeing a single thing about Toyota going out of business.
And say what you want about timing chain placement.
But the B58 has insane potential. Closed deck, solid design. It can take boost like a champ.
2jz still better
2jz block is still in production
completely different leagues
its good
one has to meet strict emissions standards and return good fuel economy
If a 2jz wasnt better than a b58 it wouldnt be used in motosports
That's the thing isn't it. From factory the new B58 does more power, fewer emissions, and returns better fuel economy.
and very common in engine swaps
LS is also swapped into everything.
Nothing is cheap anymore.
A junkyard LS is cheap
So it's better than a 2JZ
its easier to find
It's used in more race cars, more boutique builds, cheaper, and has even higher potential than the 2JZ.
B58 is better for a road going automobile
Hell by your logic the K20 is the best engine every made.
B58 isnt that good
It's better.
its ok but its flawed by design
The flaw is one you made up.
that is clearly a flaw
engine out job is payed for over the 2JZ by all the fuel saved : )
imagine making a car that has the timing change on the side you can fix
Once again, if you ever need to take the engine out.
Imagine making a car in which the chain isn't lifetime of the vehicle.
#nissan #generalmotors
I would expect the B58 to be better and more refined than an engine designed and made in the 90's
Call it what you want. They aren't considered consumables like timing belts are.
When does a timing chain need to be replaced? The timing chain normally needs to be replaced between 80,000 and 120,000 miles unless there is a specific problem. Issues with the chain are common in higher mileage vehicles.
it need to be replaced
they stretch
That's weird. No manual I have ever read has any mention of replacing a timing chain at such a low mileage.
I mean maybe a GM vehicle.
They're notorious for stretching chains within warranty.
even chain stretches
In older cars, sure.
newer vehicles too
ones that have a timing chain
Cause of the 3 cars in my garage, 0 mention timing chain replacements.
Incidentally all 3 have timing chains.
they dont its just when an issue arises
If an issue arises.
Usually long after the car starts rusting out.
I'm assuming regular oil changes.
Also, don't read articles for that, read their financial reports instead. A lot of clickbait articles out there, wouldn't want to rely on that.
like my B205 some people run into issues at 100k, some 200k, and some 300k
That's a huge mileage range.
Cause if I was driving a modern GM V6 with timing chains I'd absolutely be worried.
Rumors are the issue was so bad GM asked oil makers to create a new standard that doesn't fuck their engines up.
Which knowing American automakers I do believe.
im running a 30 year old timing belt on one of my cars but the engine is toast so if it goes it goes
it still looks decent
Like a man with a family history of heart troubles.
mega exhausts out the dipstick
He looks fine, but his heart could explode any second now.
I ran out of fuel yesterday and it was cranking over mega fast
got out peeled away timing cover to my relief
So the car only gets compression in the suspension, not engine?
it still seems to have its factory fresh 50hp
I have another engine to go in but I want to refurbish it so its not incontinent
have to put a pan under my cars when parking at my parents
Where is this data from btw?
Toyota annual/quarterly revenue history and growth rate from 2010 to 2022. Revenue can be defined as the amount of money a company receives from its customers in exchange for the sales of goods or services. Revenue is the top line item on an income statement from which all costs and expenses are subtracted to arrive at net income.
...
I'm assuming they're getting their data from Toyota's financials
ty
Ive been toying with the idea of putting a modern engine in but
gotta keep it real and totally unrefined with the dashboard bouncing
Fortunately my oldest car only has 80k miles.
1987 305 only has 150k miles
Subaru has 44k and Toyota 18k.
Best part is the Outback has the big 6 cylinder. So fewer headgasket issues and no ringland
mines suffer with head gasket engines as they are a old design
but new laminated ones are made so it can be brought up to modern longevity
the one in my 305 leaks oil from the headgasket
To think Subaru licked the heads and called it good as far as head gasket material went.
That was a joke, but they were really not enough for forced induction.
Numbers seem to add up, ty ty 👍
proud 85hp
oh good, thanks for the confirmation. That would have been a bit embarrassing otherwise.
I'm not always right, but I'm never wrong.
Nah it should be fine, website seems reliable, and most of them are
I just like to make double checks and all
And it's interesting
true
305 goes for its MOT next week, it cant fail the amount of work that has gone into it.
[murphy has entered the room]
windscreen is delaminated though which imo is fine but they might not like it
I'm both happy and sad the US doesn't have inspections.
Happy because I'm lazy and don't want to spend money, sad because holy shit some of these cars shouldn't be on the road.
will be the first time back on the road legally since 1998
I have a new windscreen lined up just its a fair bit away and id like to drive the 305 there to collect it
finally got a new door hinge so this washer bodge can go
had become so worn the roll pin had bent inside the hinge so couldnt be driven out
You know you're in for a rough dinner check when
That sounds about right though
Can the fun rich ppl not eat McDonald's?
last year there was a huracan at my local burger king. lamborghinis are allowed to be at fast food places there’s nothing wrong with that.
not saying they cant
me personally a large fan of mcdonalds
i have nothing against rich people eating at mcdonalds
i go to McDonald's with a 911 on a monthly basis
nice
its funny
because all the drivethru windows and stuff are ment for like, non low cars
Let's say you wanted to buy a car with the intention of replacing the engine, is there a way to tell if the transmission blew up if the engine did?
yes
the seller will usually say
Pro tip never buy a modern volkswagen.
@bitter compass ironic based on our conversation the other day re: overhead train power "Dozens of Brand-New BMWs Destroyed by Overhead Train Line Damage" https://www.bmwblog.com/2022/07/16/brand-new-bmws-destroyed/
Could just have been someone who were lazy enough not to use their card and move it around at the yard. No idea.
Well.. that has fairly little to do with the electricity i actually would say that i might have been the incident why i have been in Landshut last week
Because someone threw a bicycle in the overhead wires and that stopped the entire traintraffic that goes through landshut
tfw your r35 catches fire and causes an hour long traffic jam
at least the fire would have matched the sunset orange
is that the V10 R8 or V8
You're right except proof that things overhead don't always stay there. And when they're electrified....
Daw, no pictures of the carnage.
Alse are any new Europen semi trucks with manual?
I guess there is. But few, and far between from what I have seen.
good
Most trucks are just computerized manuals.
Went to get food and saw this sneaky r32
280z 😳
The Dodge Challenger started production 14 years ago.
Meaning that you can get your learners permit in some states, and practice drive with a car that started production when you were born, and that's still being made to this day.
ok
i thought the challenger came out a long long time ago
14 years doesnt seem right
i know for a fact they were started in the 70s
I obviously mean for the current generation of the car.

hey everybody
so
my 2015 mazda 6 came with the tomtom navigation system/media interface thing and it has usb input and bluetooth input aswell
however the original chip that came with it (the one in it right now) is faulty (it has some issues with downloading phone data and taking a stupid long time to connect and stuff like that)
do you think that because the car is now out of warranty that Mazda will replace it for free? I have a service bulletin and part number and everything
im just wondering because it is an original manufacturing defect but idk if that falls under the warranty or not...
https://mazdas247.com/forum/attachments/sb09-008-15-pdf.210392/
here's the bulletin
ZOOMIN
Maybe this belongs in #gaming, but I'm wondering what I might look at for a "wheel and pedals" for driving sims... realistically, around the $300 mark (I'm not going to use it enough to spend more than that).
Expected games will be Forza Motorsport, AC, and F1
(If it matters, I also have a Series X, so cross compatibility might be nice)
logitech g920 is $300 or less
Imagine a bulletin being made because you just released a 3G car.
(That isn't what this is, but that would be funny)
This might be the next move
This is fine.
Don't you mean the next... Mow?
Toasty.
And yes. The oil is damn toasty.
I think a car in my neighborhood lost its coolent while parked.
A huge off colored water looking puddle under it and we didn't have any rain or anything.
Maybe they just drove over a drink

i mean, technically the dodge Challenger existed and was produced in the 70s and 60s too sooo
I mean the current generation.
And i still can't say which one is the charger and which one the challenger
Isn't the current gt-r even longer running?
Ok its just one year longer
oof
I'm so late
Do you get punished for it ?
I know companies pay a fee for late pick ups or deliveries
Basically yeah, but I have advised
The problem I have a 2nd load.
I won't make in time
@fathom socket (:
Btw. This truck was also low on oil.
Dip stick was dry when I checked.
I had to add 10 liters of oil.
How much it takes?
do they not have a level sensor on such expensiv machinery
jesus
Also it brakes kind funny
i wonder why….
Oh no
I do have one. But didn't warn me.
do they do any maintenance
Barely on this truck. Lol
This is a Volvo FM crane+hooklift
If broken blame driver
Usually

Everything is the driver's fault
Operator overloaded you with 5 tonnes? Tough luck.
It's your fault.
current gen is boring af so meh
car
zoom
Niiiice
my first car :) (haven't finished my license yet though
)
Cleeeeeeeeen as fuck
https://i.insider.com/62c85673114c1e001872bdff?width=1300&format=jpeg&auto=webp the Rivian r1s looks like a new bronco lol
Still looks really good tho
black out the silver and your set man
nice ride
Yeah whoever got the car didn't have the best design choices
I think half a tank for my personal car is 30 liters. Or about the same as the guy above.
How good of an experience has it been for anyone who tried installing a turbocharger in a naturally aspirated petrol engine
thinking of doing it with my 5th gen city
More hassle than it's worth.
why though
wanted to know more about its shortcomings
cant find any well written explanation
Your current car doesn't know how to handle boost.
So you would have to get a new computer and everything.
ohhh, would need to remap the car's fuel injection and all as well
makes sense ty
Hmmmm this is actually alright
Blazer EV name is wrong... but on paper definitely looks interesting
GM is doing well with their EV's now (Lyriq, and now this)
same here, 28 gallon tank : (
Meanwhile. I'm paying that much for 8 gallons. :)
jesus rest in peace
I think it was $140 for a full tank. 61 liters, in this case.
I paid that much for a full tank as well but gas prices near me are tanking by the day which is nice
Yeah they're going down here atm also... but probably going up soon again due to the EUR/USD rate 🥲
my electric piglet
hopefully not 🤞
I still think its funny that my hometown indirectly forces bigger manly men to drive those
Like i kinda get it its enough for that village but seeing a man double the size of me getting out of those is just hilarious
its one of the reasons i love driving it around, im from ukraine, and before 2022 i would drive it around in our area, take it off road, its so small and light it can go anywhere lol
They're amazing
well does it run
I done messed up.
Wait what, did you smash the cabin?
Follow it, where does it end?
It's the rotor/bucket attachment. It flopped to the side when I folded the crane.
Cracked the plastic intake, and scratched up the paint something good.
Lets do some nighttime driving in Sweden
305 gets its MOT tomorrow morning, only pass
N54 335i with pure S2 turbos and rebuilt block with suspension and brake upgrade
easy 700 hp and a track weapon
doable for 30K
Well I'm 16 so if I find 30k I'll take u up on that! (Not sarcasm)
But for now I need something cheap
can find a nice 325i for $6-7K
N52 is a very very reliable engine
in-line 6 beauty
those things are tiny
smaller than a miata
speaking of miata
im currently trying to buy an NB miata
to turn into a nice daily driver
also track car
I need to fit it in a tiny spot in driveway, and it's light, so I can run on less power, And still get the performance
i saw one the other day
Get a Civic or Corolla.
Good cheap reliable
BMW is gonna bankrupt ya in fairly short order on repair costs alone.
If you can get a somewhat new one you could get a Comma Three for advanced driver assistance features.
IDK what even is that
Wtf is air injection pump?
It might something to do with check engine light?
Like I got some abnormal pollution error
Yup that's perfectly possible, it basically forces air in the exhaust to clean unburned fuel from the exhaust
So that would make perfect sense
oh
That's a tow bill.
Hmmm this didn't age well 😛
By french standards, it's good to go
Flawless MOT

Thats a big baguette
...Biguette?
You know. I looked over that MOT again. Sounds cheaper to scrap it...
That is a Peugeot, a bunch of crap
Most cars that sit for 24 years are like this regardless of brand
But it costs me basically nothing to fix
Service brake is just a mistake handbrake needs made tighter
Wheel bearings were expected but i was just going to send it
It is a very tame fail

oh whistlindiesel
Me and my friends were at silver lake dunes and saw him launch a red gwagon
his cameraman took a vid of my friends bronco as well
check kbb but it looks good
LMAOOOOO
bro it has a 1 of rocket bunny kit, custom work wheels and a supercharged ls from a corvette, which will output 1000hp, and is sponsored by Michelin 😭
it says "world's fastest multipla" on the wheels
best looking multipla too
which doesnt say much
the original kit looked like an srt but the guys said they wanted to keep the multipla's ugliness so kei miura had to make another one
its a fair price
Look pretty much the whole reason why you shouldn't buy a golf gti
i’d do it if thats what u want
It seems it does not do anything
No air or anything
305 all fixed basically. Just need my knuckle back from the garage once they press in the new bearing
An actual boot floor instead of wood
Hmmm it should, but maybe the fan is also broken
Tbh I'd just tape the hose for now, no need to replace it
Idk if the fan should always be blowing
I wanted to test it, but I have to way to press the accelerator pedal
I did and it melted off
I've also tried to blow in to it
Damn did it
Is it resting against the engine?
Might also be why it broke in the first place
I heard something pop
Old plastic + heat = snap
Hmmm so the pop is when it broke again?
Ah a pop when blowing
Yeah that makes sense, that's a valve
So only the air from the pump can go in the exhaust
But not the exhaust gasses back to the pump
O still need to fix overheating
I think maybe eliminating thermostat would be a good place to start
Or is the aftermarket radiator not being able to cool the engine
Thermostat is probably a good place to start
Also, what tape did you use? Duct tape should be capable of ~200°C which should be fine?
Ah no 200 Fahrenheit which is 93 celcius, yeah that might fail
It did
Classic
You probably need some aluminium foil tape
https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b40067935/
Kek that's probably going to be expensive
Kekw 25€ for 4.5m
Oeh yes tape like this, so you can make your engine bay look like a McLaren F1
Just €20 for 5m, up to 400 degrees
Oh, we're going Tavarish spec?
Certified gm
I think I should better off order a new tube
Headlight switch stopped working so i ripped it out and ran green wire
Or hecc, just use stapler and expoxy
Now imagine having automatic lights
My headlights turn on randomly when my car is parked
Kek classic COM2000
Headlights go off with ignition in the saab so this is fine
I have another switch just forgot ot at home and its getting dark
idk why but whenever I get into my car even during the day the fog lights turn on
I drive for a minute and if it’s day they turn off but if it’s night it switches to normal headlights
pretty weird
Fog lights don't work, hugh beams don't work, left turn signal does not work
I have to blink it manually
We do a tech Wednesday video Level 2 and 3 Assisted driving focusing on GMs latest super cruise system. We dive into the good and bad of how it helps, what is real, and what is science fiction. Needless to say, great marketing can't make cars safely drive without human help.
#cars #selfdriving #tech
Everyone got them self driving cars, but refuse to take responsibility.
The only people that advertise as if they have FSD are scams and Tesla.
Which is a scam stock price wise, but at least you get something that kinda works when you get the advanced driver assistance package.
love to hear it "pagani scraps EV plans for more V12 supercars"
I think there are already some self driving ride in semi-controled environment (limited in certain part of city and have a team behind it to do real-time problem solving)
I think it called Waymo, and you might have guessed it is under Google.
Tesla on other hand still really meh.
It doesn't seems like user-owned FSD going to happen too soon.
Remote supported "FSD" as subscription might happen much sooner tho I guess.
But I doubt if that is the bright future many people would dream.
Yeah I'm not going to pay 200/month for FSD (if I had the option)
I can basically run my entire car for 200/month
what louis says is turning out pretty true
"you won't own anything and you'll be happy"
BMW heated seat subscription is a thing
200 is cute, I hope it won't be like 699 on top of a 6.9k option of a 168k flagship car.
cars should not include subscription services period, you're paying for the car, if youre not getting to use its features for free after already purchasing the car, its not worth its price tag
they could charge 1$ and it still won't be worth it
thats like buying a car, and having to pay monthly to use the roadside repair kit
Remote support is an great excuse of subscription tho.
And that would be a huge drive for manufacturers to stop there.
no subscription service is a great excuse
remote support should be given out as a warranty period thing, and if the owner wants to extend their warranty, they can
imagine if the 8th and the 9th gear in an automatic gearbox was a subscription service
That still become a subscription of a kind.
They can make excuses like "it is unsafe without remote support so we have to charge monthly or yearly."
yes, its dumb and dont give money to companies that do that
I think it would be still pretty attractive if the price is right, but I think they won't come cheap anytime soon.
Isn't that what Tesla is asking now?
Ngl idk because > Tesla
🤮
Ngl if you only going to use it on like a road trip or something, it might be cheaper to just "subscribe" for a month?
Not that I'm a fan of subscription services or everything
I don't consider the Tesla one "real thing" yet but yeah I might not using the terms right.
Ah I thought you were talking about Tesla's FSD because you mentioned FSD 😛
But you mean autonomous driving in general?
Yeah
I won't pay 200 for the Tesla crap too TBH
But I didn't like Tesla since long ago so I don't think I will own one anyways.
(Unless it improves a lot eventually.
INNOVATIVE

Well same
But Tesla FSD also isn't FSD
Just one big marketing scheme

You only hate tesla because you drive an opel and not a tesla or elon is our lord and saviour
Sure let's go with that
Atleast the panel gaps on my 15k Opel are nicer than those of a 100k Tesla
Man i hate this rich ass man who acts like he's down to earth 👀
Oi my 10k vw up has better build quality than any tesla probably will ever have
I am driving an 10 yrs old X1 and ordered the coming iX1
Call me boring.
Hi boring, I'm MK
I probably agree, and you know my stance on VW 😛
Tbf mk7 golf + related cars, and.. well.. current gen up.. are well built
Like extremely well built
NL prices for the new X1 are crazy tho... X1 sDrive 18i €51624, iX1 xDrive 30 €55274
Just 3.5k more to go from a 3-cyl to an EV
Skoda's have nicer interiors nowadays for the similar cars
Octavia is nicer than a Golf, Enyaq nicer than an ID.4
Idk why VW exists anymore
There's a better version for basically every VW elsewhere within VAG
Idk why seat exists
I am going to get the EV(iX1), I heard that they aren't going to NA tho, sad story.
We have tax discount for EV here for now so EV are pretty attractive for us.
So we can make memes like this
Leon is nicer looking than a Golf tho
Well commercial vehicles.. transporter caddy and crafter don't have other versions within vag
Nvm crafter man exists
Which is just a rebadged crafter
And yeah.. caddy being based on the golf nowadays
Guys. I think that I am overweight.
Makes it meh anyways
Or a Seat Inca
Without tax discount we are paying almost 50% extra, the base price would be like 45k here with tax discount.
I've been telling you that for years
Ngl, I get it, but subsidizing luxury products is the stupidest thing ever
Every car that has some sort of government grant or whatever here just gets exported after 5 years so bye bye our tax money's
Tesla's you could drive for literally 0€/month
Stupidest thing ever
You have to put an old combustion car on the sacrifice altar for the discount tho.
Their target was like reducing combustion engines.
So let the rich drive a Tesla for free and let the poor pay for it
Oh god like one of those clunkers for cash things? 🥲
Letting perfectly good cars go to waste
Of course they're pushing here for EVs, electricity grid can barely handle 2% of the cars being BEV atm, let alone 90+% in the future
Yet they're still subsidizing the purchase of cars, they can better use the money the improve the infrastructure
The cars will follow when there's a proper infrastructure and more choice as car makers are coming out with more models (forced by regulations or not)
I won't say that is the brightest idea, but I believe the subsidiary pushed a lot of need of infrastructure and the drive of people building that.
They have subsidiary for infrastructure too.
Hmm maybe where you live, but not here
We are kinda early adopters here.
Sure, but if I look in the near future specifically for my country ( 🇳🇱 ), they want to make it that in 2025 as a company car (and 75% of new car sales are company cars) you can only register a BEV.
2025, that's just 3 years, no way the current infrastructure can handle such massive change
Cities and companies can't install more public chargers as the infrastructure can't handle it
But what is their solution? Limiting solar production to 50% of the inverters capacity to reduce stress on the infrastructure... Literally counter effective

Hot take: Nuclear are almost the greenest energy.
(It is kinda true in terms of CO2 tho, only wind farm in prime location can beat Nuclear in terms of lifetime CO2)
I'm all good for nuclear power
The fear of disaster in general public are hard to change tho.
So let's pray better technology would come in-time.
It always get's compared to Fukushima and Chernobyl.. Fukushima was build at a horrendous place not suited for such powerplant, and Chernobyl... like let's compare it to something build in the Soviet Union in the 70's, that's definitely comparable to a modern Western powerplant
Even if we have a lot of these, fossil fuel still murder way more people daily by the exhaust even when they worked perfectly fine, the difference is those deaths (often slow and painful) won't go headlines.
I like trucks.
Not politics.
Okay I'll stop here.
IDK, looks like it is for professionals that I don't know a lot.
But a refrigerator on the road is always nice.
Microwave too
Nissan.
Ah yes the NV400 or what is it
Yeah.
Same, but different, but still same
Been doing a bit of crane work
i drive a porsche and i still hate Tesla, no consumer should get a product thats that badly manufactured for that amount of $$, freaking Dacia has better QA
Final adjustments on the doors of a Dacia's Sandero in Russia
better panel gaps than a tesla :)
Oh definitely
Car meeting in Sweden
Is that part just made of straight rust sheesh
I don’t think so
Imo software updates and firmware and all that crap should be free forever
It’s like buying a copy of Microsoft Office (back when you still could) and them only updating it for a year
that's not support
Support for what then
remote support would be a technician helping you out with your adobe pdf reader installation in the computer sense
Isn’t that a thing already for free?
no?
why is there an option for a technician to help you on the Mazda website
do they just tell you what you need
hmph
thats the 1 thing i could see not being free, just in warranty period because it requires active workers with wages
true
id totally get an MX-5, im kinda trying to make my parents get one
since i moved out and they're only 2 ppl now
nice
