First gen 1.6 HDiF and 2.0 HDiF, both 16v, they weren't the best. Later they made the 1.6 e-HDI, back to 8v, older engine, much more reliable and they made massive changes. Not only in the Peugeot's, but also Ford and Volvo used the engines (1.6 TDCi/1.6d/1.6 DrivE)...

So it's a general rule to avoid the 1.6 16v HDiF, get an older 1.6 HDI or later 1.6 e-HDI 8v 😛

Or, the bulletproof 2.0 HDI in the 307. Just 90hp, but that thing can run forever 🙃
