Nah. Older BMW's really aren't that bad. The problem is just how dense newer cars are being made. So the part itself might not be too bad to find at a reasonable price. But the hours to change it is wildly different to other cars.

I got eibach springs, and bilstein shocks. So that was a nice chunk of change.
The rear springs had actually rusted away, and taken away half a turn at the bottom.
So I figured that replacing shocks and springs on all four corners was the right thing to do.

used them for couple thousand miles but they werent that great and with a damaged engine mount constant wheelspin was undesirable

Nah its hybrid.. so the motors get you going quick with no wheelspin at all... then as the motors shut off and the engine takes over, you'll end up one wheel peeling it at about 60mph.

Problem with Tesla.. is if you get a flat tyre they come and get you, they recover to their own tesla garage.. and they only fit their own approved tyres. They'll charge you roughly £400 per tyre.
