How can you tell tho?
if parts are replaced sure, and depending on your annual mileage.
Because I care for it, it's a Toyota, and right now I'm willing to put the money into making it run that long.
Everything can go forever at a cost
Ok but at that point you can make an early 2000s S class merc last long too
lol at what cost?
Exactly.
Early 00s Mercedes are famous for falling apart.
Toyota is not.
Hell I'd rather get a rusty old Saab before I get a 2000s Mercedes.
2019, we dont know if they will or wont be known for falling apart
ey
lol
Youre working with an unknown
It's Toyota. They're products are all known.
I prefer 80's and early 90's as they can generally be fixed by monkey brains
Youd be surprised how many times people have bought products because "the company is good" and gotten Fed over
When did a Toyota screw someone over?
Besides the Tundra rusty frames.
And Corolla oil burn issues.
Toyota doesnt have to have done it specifically, thats not to say it WONT ever happen
Even if the engine is strong I had to get a friends 2009 civic going that had a fried fusebox, yes right. And the fuse box is coded to the car.
Classic Honda.
Had to open up both fuse boxes and swap the eeprom chip over as we dont have the tool to program
At least the transmission is good?
Fun ._.
I explicitly trust Toyota to get me to a quarter million miles and beyond.
its going again now but its stuff like that which makes me hate modern cars
Idk. Putting trust basically blindly like that is a bad idea imo.
It's not really blind trust.
250k miles isnt much on a well maintained car
I've done my research, Toyota is a reputable brand, and I have every intention of doing the scheduled maintenance.
Again, reputable brand means nothing
It means a lot.
It really, really, doesnt
How so.
Take PC PSUs for example.
Reputations are earned.
What is a "reputation", to you?
Toyota earned it as Ford earned theres.
Reputation is decades of experience from customers.
And there are many unreliable fords.
If customers have decades of good experiences, it is a good rep.
Did you know Ford has a poor reputation?
I dont look into reputations of brands, i look into the reliability of PRODUCTS
Just as GM has a poor rep, as does Chrysler, Audi, VW, and Mercedes?
Do you know why?
That's literally how reputation is built.
You look at the fucking products.
Dude, what point are you even trying to make?
heres a brand with a reputation, atleast in the old days. over 700k miles
Yes, but guess what, a brand can be reputable, while one of their products isnt reliable.
And the wise versa is also true.
I legit feel like I'm having a stroke.
The Corolla has decades of good following, decades of good engineering, Toyota has decades of experience making a car.
Tell me why I shouldn't trust Toyota with my car lasting a long time.
Lets take the new gen corsair PSUs for example, theyre all good. Except for the VS series, so because the rest are good, corsair is reputable with PSUs in 2022.
But the VS is horrible
LMAO ok
Why "may" it not.
Because im simply not from the future.
Without knowing that model of car hitting that mileage reliably, i wont call that car reliable for thay mileage.
Because I can look to the past to make an informed guess about the future.
You can, it wont be 100%
There are Corollas that have hit 200k.
Cool, they arent 2019 models.
They are
There are OLDER merc S class that are essentially bulletproof
There are E210 Corollas that have hit 200k.
The platform on which it is based? I imagine there are some cars that have hit 400k by now.
Out of how many produced did hit 200K?
No clue. Not everyone drives their cars as much as others.
There are people who have been to space, so will everyone be to space?
100% of the cars that reached 200k can reach 200k.
Fallacy, not everyone can afford to get into space.
And I'm glad you understand what I'm getting at.
So is your argument
A fallacy
Because, again, you're not from the future, you cant and dont know if YOUR car will make it to 250K miles
So you are saying that I shouldn't trust decades of experience, various anecdotes about my car?
I don't know, sure.
But with the right care it will.
Decades of experience with your 2019 Corolla, wow
You really do have a time machine
No, but Toyota has used their experience to get there.
With the right care ALL cars can make it to 1 million miles
You must be a blast in the boardrooms.
You don't know that.
Or did you change your mind?
Depends on what you mean by "right care" doesn't it :)
Is the boat still the same boat if every part is replaced?
So every car, with the "right care" will make it to 1 million miles then
As you can replace every part, multiple times, to make it there.
Ship of Thesus doesn't apply to the legalities of registration and insurance.
Indeed
Do you know why Toyota replaced the frames on some Tundras?
Dude, this doesnt matter, the car in question isnt a tundra
Oh but it matters.
The car in question is specifically a 2019 corolla
Now, DID your 2019 corolla last you 10 years?
Yes. it will.
DID it?
Yes.
Ok, so youre from 2029.
DID it then?
best touch some proper wood not ikea else your corollas gonna get totalled by a truck
Oh, now you know he will actually total it
If it gets totalled that's a different story.
Because hes making an argument here that he cant actually support
What is your argument again?
That you cannot, with 100% certainty, say your car will last you 10 years, or whatever you said it will.
Because I'm pretty damn certain my car can hit 250k barring any unfortunate incidents.
I cannot say it, but what I can say is that my Corolla stands a better chance of doing it than a 2001 Accord.
Or 2019 S class.
Sure, no one ever said anything against this
I said, you cannot say, with 100% certainty, that your car is 100% reliable.
Because its literally too new
Couldnt say that if it was a 100 years old either
Of course. But youd actually have numbers in your hand of failed and non failed examples
Missing the point I feel.
I think you are?
You're saying that toyota is reputable therefore your car will last
Im saying reputability hardly matters now because were talking about a specific car.
Reputability of the brand that is
I can derive a fairly educated guess about a car's longevity via anecdotes and previous models a company may have produced in years prior.
You could, and it could literally not matter.
This is why we dunk on Nissans of any modern vintage. We have come tot he conclusion their CVTs are hopeless.
Imma bail on this highly productive chat and leave you with the best way to ensure reliability.
A second engine is good.
As statistics are funny in the way that, in real life, having a 90% chance to win, and 10% chance to lose, doesnt mean you win because the win chance is higher
@charred depot there was that one mazda someone made for drifting and burnouts with 2 engines
You know 1 engine drives the front, 1 drives the rear, etc
This thing
I is only interested in bangernomics
I have my saab as it was going to be scrapped, and the 305 as it runs on veg oil. They both also appeal to my visual tastes.
Idk, anything thats this weird is inherently interesting to me
i know whats wrong with it
ain’t got no gas in it
Honestly automatic transmission scare me
Obligatory meme
An autozam, cuppachino, or beat, would be the only worthy successors to the lambo
If you can find a reasonable one
Slushbox
When I still drove the daf 106 the automatic gearbox put down shifted to way too high gear when going up hill and started burning the clutch
It doesn't have a clutch 🤔
Honestly driving automatic scares me, because I do it so rarely that i genuinely have to think how i do
If this was you, you are a TERRIBLE driver. The full Macan T video is up on YouTube right now, link in bio.
635
If there's no pitting you might be able to polish it up
But if there's pitting it's probably done for
alright thanks
Apparently my audi has a sport package
I thought it was just a special steering wheel but it isn't just that
According to the internet it has
Leather Wrapped Sport Steering Wheel
Sport Suspension
Includes modifications in springs, 30% stiffer shock absorbers, new helper springs and new stabilizer bars. Suspension is lowered by 20 mm.
Wheels: 16" x 7J 10-Spoke Sport
Tires: 205/55R16 High Performance
Nothing too special but I just found it interesting
meh I can say for sure there was still depression inspiring autos in the 90's
probably mid 2000's is what id say is the turning point
even on the current year mazdang 2 you are getting better mpg with the manual option which suprised me
the cvt in my honda was making a whining noise.
It's around 80k and i'm gonna take it in because I don't know if the transmission fluid has been messed with or changed
I'd say its nice for fuel economy, but that new V6 maserati mc20 they have out now gets similar mpg
Moral of the story. If you have the option of either an auto or a cvt, go for the auto
at least a dct w/ paddles can be fun
but a cvt
i mean the modern honda ones seem pretty good
but in general they seem kinda just
boring
as boring as a trans can be
also, as someone who just learned stick, its absolutely as fun as everyone makes it out to be
my dad taught me how to drive stick its fun it feels badass but i still prefer automatic especially since i dont want to add another layer of distraction when i'm piloting a 1000 pound killing machine
cvts would be better if they were implemented correctly
with a dedicated 1st gear like Toyota did for the hybrid cvt, and without any of the stupid fake shifting bs
which this also assumes its not designed and built poorly, cough Nissan
aka, just buy a Toyota hybrid
I think my honda has a dedicated first gear as well, from what I looked up. It’s been fine, but the other night it felt real weird, and it had a grindy/whiney noise for a bit.
It’s probably needing new transmission fluid
Mines a sport model accord, and honestly, sport mode is actually amazing to drive in
It will accelerate noticeably faster, and the throttle does get more responsive and will rev the car higher
Also the paddles are really cool if you’re goin down some backroads.
It’s just thad drive mode has some acceleration lag, and if you need to accelerate really fast to get on from a short ramp, it can be a little stressful, but it’s nice for cruising
Honda did a surprisingly good job with the cvt tuning, for all it gets crapped on for all i crapped on it
I think most of the bad stuff comes from early cvt tech, and also that whole fiasco with the last gen Nissan lineup
honda s660 exist
I know. But gullwing doors
I only drove Toyota with cvt and I find it better than auto
I drive toyota with CVT and a 3 series with ZHP and the eCVT is so shitty it's painful
it takes 3 seconds for it to get the right ratio
Only 1000 lbs?
Anyhow after driving a manual for a little bit you'll get used to it
the paddles are really cool if you ignore the fact the transmission doesn't have gears for driving
realistically, they're extremely stupid
Fake shifting is dumb and defeats the purpose of a cvt
how?
a cvt is designed to dynamically vary the gear ratio as speed increases, keeping the engine within it's optimal band.
It is also designed to choose a gear ratio that allows the engine to run in it's most fuel efficient rpm window at speed.
By forcing the engine to vary rpm in a simulation of gears, you hurt efficiency and defeat the entire purpose of transmission with no gears
the dedicated 1st gear is only for starting from a stop. They can only do like 8mph max in that gear. It's designed to reduce stress on the cvt drive and improve reliability; Nissan's CVT doesn't have this, and it's why their non-hybrid CVT cars nuke transmissions every 10k miles
i love kei cars. too bad im a giant at 6'+ and 220 lbs. Those pickups next to it make it look even smaller. so funny.
If clarkson can fit in a p.50, there ain't no excuse
facts honestly
Doug demuro too. i believe he's at least 6'4." I'd love to try to sqeeze myself into a kei car,
Probably for companies to worry less about the transmissions that they offer. My Accord is a sport model, but I doubt every person buying an accord wants to have that full performance.
That 9th gen was only offered with a basic auto, the cvt, and a manual option
But I don’t think the auto had a way to manually cjange gears
How is making the transmission worse allowing the company to worry less
Plus, if the normal auto doesn't have a manual mode that's all Honda's choice. Manual mode has been a thing for a long time
Possibly fuel efficiency.
Porches pdk transmission has a faster 0-60 than the manual because of california sound tests
The car industry is weird and there’s always some weird rules ruling what they can do
And priority of efficiency over what’s fun
Tbh, X doubt
Their PDK is faster because you can't shift that fast.
ZHP torque converters and modern DCTs are capable of shifting much faster than any manual
and peak engineering, kng’s LST shifts faster than anything in the world at like 40-50 ms
7 clutches
Would rotary swapping an FSO Polonez be a good idea?
can I even find driveshaft and rear axle strong enough
(under 200 hp for sure, maybe even around 100)
Unsure but I like the Yae sakura pfp
I don't know you but you just gained my respect
didnt play beta
got back to the game after 2 years, didnt know starrail was a thing
I thought HI4 Odyssey was meant to be next
Fair enough
don’t tell anyone i said this but it’s gonna be open world honkai
how do i get to play beta
its changed a fair bit
its a LOT more genshin-y
i dont blame you
Welp, my car was declared totalled so it's CAR SHOPPING TIME.
Looking at the Forester Wilderness Edition and the Bronco Sport Badlands Edition
Consider BMW
the ultimate driving machine
Considering what they're looking at... sounds like BMW is the opposite of what they need.
Could maybe consider a RAV4 TRD.
Those are rad but more expensive and horrible mpg
The fuel economy is better for the RAV4.
It's about 3 grand more expensive MSRP
Bronco is slightly cheaper than a RAV4.
And fuel economy for the Bronco Sport with the 2.0T is dramatically worse than either the Forester and RAV4.
You can always go for a crosstrek. lol
Oh wait for some reason in my mind I was thinking 4Runner and not rav4
Derp
oh 4Runner lol yeah.
Fuel economy of a 90s Jeep, and the price of a brand new one.
The rav4 hybrids are super tempting except the stock is non existent in Oregon
Your best bet is to order from factory.
Aren't most factory orders also a 1+ year waiting list?
My dream car is a rear engined, rear wheel drive wagon from the 70's
lil Volkswagen
or an e30 wagon
both great
my dream car is probably impossible to get even if i had the money
technically my dream car does not exist
Im just another sucker for e30 but its not a BMW :^)
Alpi... Wait that's just bmw in interesting
Is there a Hyundai i30n wagon?
I did like the first gen ford focus
Is there a i30 wagon outside of Europe?
But i agree the world needs more fast wagons
I could technically turbo a first gen focus engine, but it's still a FWD car
There is a single one of my dream car on sale it'd be the perfect one as well but 300k € :(
My e36 did the door panel delete by itself, next level weight reduction
Hopefully nothing will catch on fire
My weight level reduction would be
Buy another car
So 2 bmws and a Ford
The wheels on my mustang are worth more than what I paid for the car
That’s relatable
The wheels on the bmw are with more than the car and all 6 tires on my ford are new and probably worth more than the truck
4 tires for my truck is like $1000
I did 6 on mine it was around $2200
Why did dodge feel the need to put such a weird size on my truck
What is the truck?
2000 dakota r/t
Factory tire size is 255/55r17
I use 255/50r17 because it's cheaper
But the tires that I have now got discontinued
205/55 R16 here 😄
I have 205/55 R16 aswell : ) not meant too though
205/50 would be more correct but more expensive
yeah its a common vag size if I recall which makes it cheaper
If I bought the cheapest garbage tires from discount tire or Costco I could get an entire set for what it costs to get 1 tire on my dakota
I always run decent tires I’m a fan of nitto
I have federals on the dakota
But they discontinued the street legal 255/50r17
And I have michelins on the audi
Goodyears on the firetruck
when you buy a almost 20 year old shitbox to drive around europe
but I miss having 14 inch rims
could afford at least getting some decent quality tyres
My truck is 30, bmw isn’t much newer and the mini is an 08
Subaru Impreza Casa Blanca
Also: 4x Hankook 195/55 R16 is €300 included installation
(buying them online and then installing them at the local garage)
Helping a friend buy a car
I was trying to buy a steering wheel from someone and they sucked at messaging, I would just hit them with an offer
holy grille
Fancy Subie
i have 215/45r18 and they're pretty pricey 😦
I have 205/55r16 and the cheap ones costed me more than some fancy 185/60r14
Considering an Euro bumper to get rid of that orange mark
Is there a clear replacement for the us bumper?
could always sand the reflectors down and use plastic filler then have it painted.
You can just get a painted piece
Every detail of your new BMW should be as sleek as possible; that’s where IND’s painted reflectors come in. Everything about these reflectors is brand new, from the BMW factory cores to the custom car matched factory BMW paints. And with most factory BMW colors offered, you’ll have a nearly perfect paint match every time.
What truly makes these ...
not flush 😤
Nearly invisible once installed
maybe on dark vehicles
Disgusting
205/55R16 is quite cheap as it's one of the most common sizes in Europe
But compared to my old ford's r14 and the income i have
Veyron is faster, but Vectron is stronger 🤔
Less aero dynamics
Bugatti also weights like 50x less
R14's might get more expensive in the near future as 14 is getting less common
I think my neighbour couldn't find any new 12 inch tyres for his car
But can Bugatti pull 30 fully loaded freight wagons?
ay. new toyota just dropped
awd, 3 cylinder, estimated to make 300hp
Hopefully it doesn't end up like the 2017 RS Focus and get marked up and unsellable
Also, they're showing it doing drifty bois in a bunch of the promo shots, so I'm curious if they're gonna try and make it rwd bias
cuz that would be amazing
OOH
IT DOES
The drifty bois should be true
In other news
The Dacia Sandero
@stoic ledge Do you know a website where I can find information on previous vehicles? It doesn’t work on OVI
Previous vehicles as in vehicles which don't exist anymore/are exported/...
Most of them are still on VWE / Finnik
Not coming to Europe :(
Not like it would be affordable here,, probably €70k+
It's supposed to be around $30-$40k
Yeah the GR Yaris was already €54k here
(60k USD)
So the Corolla would definitely be more
Not that I care because I can't afford either of them
Honestly, if I could, I'd get a 2014 Chevy SS
The fact it took america so long to get a proper 4 door that could haul ass was sad
And it was a rebadge holden with a driver side swap
Yeah
big rip
Actually, it was funny because people would actually get holden badges and swap out the chevy ones up here
Used to have a neighbor with one
I'm just excited for more wagons
yes
well america doesn't really get them because for some reason people are obsessed with crossovers
Toyota even has a new crossover with the most unoriginal name
Corolla Cross
But it's the fact they reused the corolla name for an entirely new lie
line
The thing is that the mach-e looks like that stupid i-pace from jaguar
Yeah some people here with Opel's get Vauxhall badges and swap them out....
and the new kia ev6 looks like the both of them
Which is actually smaller than a Corolla and based on the Yaris

At that point, just get a corolla hatch
or a rav4
YOu have a corolla wagon?!
Yes
That actually looks amazing
no, we've never had the wagon
No I meant the regular hatch/sedan versions
Yeah but that's the 1.8 Hybrid I assume
We have hatch and wagon both 1.8 and 2.0 Hybrid
Sedan just 1.8 Hybrid
And again, we only get the sedan or the hatch
Finally I've tidied up the wiring
ooh
We don't have the 2.0 Hybrid
Only a 1.2 Turbo for the non-Hybrids
😛
Corolla Sports Tourer is also sold as a Suzuki Swace
Why the logo lol
you can't get a hybrid with the hatchback here
I think I've mentioned before that sun reflects from it
Ah oof lol
Need put black tape
Mazda 5 was a minivan
fat wagon
Never had a problem with the Peugeot logo reflecting in our 307, but I remember the shifter getting 1000 degrees in summer
You sure it wasn't the 3 or 6?
6 Wagon did exist yes
yeah
Maybe because I drive in mountains and also I have the św version
Y'all still getting the mazda 6
So sunroof
they took it out of america last year
Ah yes we had the Break
Yes
damn
But only with a 2.0 or 2.5 non-turbo, we don't get the 2.5 Turbo
Mazda 3 is 2.0 only
I've added cigarette lighter because too far from window
CX-5 same as this
Those are awesome
But dayum that price
I want to fish high amp wires to the interior of the car, but idk where
also, that's still 82k miles
131k km
yeah
still looks amazing
ye
all amazing
That's never getting sold lol
and sadly we can't import anything until it's 25y/o
it might actually
Looks like they accidently added an extra 6 lol
64990 vs 664990
Yes it's a great car, but it's not that great
Holden performance models could easily become collectables in the future
hell, now they're collectable
clearly
We did technically get another holden back in like 2006
was a rebadged commodore
if i'm correct
This one has 104k miles
The thing is, that was the coolest gm product you can get in america at the time
looks like a caddilac
OOH
Those were cool too
but I don't think they were for public sale
we only got those as police cars
but they were cool
if they had their lights off
Only as PI yes
But as I was saying. When we got the 2006 gto, gm had a fwd cadillac, a fwd impala that was stretched with an ls, and the vette
that was it
The Camaro wasn't out yet, because it was taken off the market until 2008
oh yeah
ye
But, gm ruined so many companies
They just started sharing so many components rebadging so many things
Saab got fekked over
Sharing components isn't a bad thing, but rebadging the hell out of it isn't good
Saturn just became a way for america to sell Opel's over here
Yeah, and after the got rid of Saturn they used Buick 😛
Like the Regal, Cascade, Encore
Oh yeha
Buick is just the cousin who wen to live abroad, and everyone forgot about till some family gathering
Cadillac has some cool things
Their blackwing v8 cars are amazing
Honestly doing what they should've done years ago
It's amazing how PSA turned Opel around from 20 years of losses to a profitable company within 18 months
Idk what GM was doing
(Probably using the Opel R&D for Chevrolet models to keep their shareholders happy or something)
Pls use an EV
Thnx
🙃
GM was just spread too thin honestly. It was Opel, Vauxhall, Holden, Saab, Saturn, Pontiac, Hummer, and Daewoo before they had to sell crap off in 2009
Not including the ones they still have
America doesn't money well
Hummer is back tho (as a subbrand of GMC)
Daewoo was turned in to GM Korea
And basically sold as Chevrolet's and Holden's
(Chevrolet Cruze, Trax)
I think that will take like 30 years, i believe in hybrids more than EVs
I thought Hummer is just a model under gm
If we can get more stuff like the i8 bmw where you can change between full gas and hybrid will be amazing
I ain't sellin my jeep with 14 mpg
it's fun
Is this... a PHEV?
Laughs in 3-6 liters per 100k
5.5 km/l
Buuut not having a speed limit hurts fuel economy
i'm sorry the americans use the stupid
You just gotta know where the police like to chill
Cops will hang out in this little turnouts usuall

I just slow down around them, also checking mirrors to not get caught
The difference between driving 130 or 170 is like 3-4 liters to me, am i still atupid enough to drive with full throttle for the entire highway - yes
That's bs
ha
HGLJKAJ
what
Damn
jeez
I'm looking up stuff, but it's surprisingly difficult to find fines for speeding infractions
Legit, the only thing I can find in my state is how to pay your fines
not how much they cost
i am concern
I gotta admit though, our drivers testing is crap
We don't have restrictions by law but insurance companies often won't give out insurance on high performance cars and young drivers
damn
I will admit
$411 seems a little bit low a fine for driving the wrong way on a freeway
like
maybe take away the licence
America doesn't even do many car evaluations
At 18yo I paid €90/month for my 1.2 Corsa 😛
Now at 23 I pay ~€75/month 🥲
and i've seen so many cars with tabs from 2020
Roax tax?
Vw up for the win i paid 450€/year at 18
It's fun seeing a car with negative camber on just one wheel
on the freeway doing 70
License plate is part of the car
or the punishment

Jesus
I pay 50€ in tax a year
" No person shall drive a vehicle on a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions and having regard to the actual and potential hazards then existing. In every event speed shall be so controlled as may be necessary to avoid colliding with any person, vehicle or other conveyance on or entering the highway in compliance with legal requirements and the duty of all persons to use due care.
It's so fucking vague
Yeah so we have:
- high road tax
- high insurance
- high purchase price
- high fuel prices
🙃
Gotta love it
We have an emisisons tax which can literally triple the car's price
🙃
Depends on the car really
But like a 1.0TSI Golf already has 5k in emissions tax
🙃
Cheaper than Germany
Fuel atm? Could be yeah due to the tax reduction
I don't think that's proper pricing
Or that's hella cheap yeah
€1,792 for Diesel
Paid 2.12 for diesel few days ago
I better not tell my brother it's now 35c less
How the fuk yall livin with that
He'll have a heart attack
Well, time for a road trip this weekend
Damn
Diesel here is €1.989 at cheap stations? So idk where that 1.792 is coming from
Taxes in Germany are a question mark, like some are a joke others are stupid high
Insurance is alright
Purchase price is on the higher end
Fuel people complain, i complain because i pay 10-20 cents more per liter because I don't live in the city
De Heurne
Idk of every German guy I've ever spoken to it's like €250/year they pay for road tax
Insurance is probably comparable
Purchase price is always higher in 🇳🇱 , DE only has the VAT (which was 19% in DE for some time, idk if that's still the case), ours is 21% + always the emissions tax. SO differences in pricing comparing NL vs DE is 99% of the time just the insurance tax
Hmmmmmmmmmmm
bye bye clutch
€1,922 now
Ayee BT-50 in the back gorund lookin mint
I have a fuel tank
Selling my ute for $25,899 drive away lol
The E10 price is correct shown on the photo
Taxes over here i literally do not understand, like i pay 50€ a year, my dad pays 250€ for a more efficient car, then idk if it still is like that but EVs/ phev dont pay taxes at all (but they might have stopped that) and whats up with LNG cars idk
Yup
ONO
I know what I got
That poor D4-D
lmao
Yikes
Thats a pin about to go
Depends what year it is
2006 - 2008 had injector problems
Fair
Bruhh
That clutch is gonna be dust soon lmaooo
I've been driving around town like a grandma in a yaris lately
fuel prices mann
Sounds around right
about*
I shit you not
my injector pump start leaking soon as the fucking prices went up
Use to get 700 - 1000km on a tank
now 300 - 500 if I'm lucky
ripp
Yup
A car is like your gf
Nice paycheck 👉 👈
Yeah
Honestly without a tune
big tires drink fuel
Thats right
screw that 8/100km
I like the sound
Holy fuck really?
Honestly tho
Some of the WLAT motors can drink like a v8 if the injectors are bad
Ye
Don't even think mine would do 170
rpm would be already redlined

I wonder why
fastest I've been is 234kmh in old mates XR6T
Shits sketch at that speed
Yeah uppa the barra
Send it 👌
Haha
Bet the fuel usage is through the roof lol
Better than me
I use to be able to tow trailers and get that good km
Depends
Whaat
I had to tow 550kg on the back of the tray and another 600kg worth of trailer 300km and I used just over half a tank

Mate
I can't even tow in 5th
Trans will go boom 👌
mhm
Weak 5th gear in mine lol
More of a overdrive gear
not suppose to tow in overdrive apparently
I do on flat ground and if I lose speed just down shift?
Trans hasn't shit itself yet

Death wobbles?
Really?

Weight reduction right there
I haven't had problems with rust
moved to a new office, now i can watch the rising fuel prices straight from the window in horror 💩
Old mate I know does beach work

I've been running with the check engine light for 15,000km
nice hilux
i payed 10k for a belt driven turbo
going for around 700-800hp
Just shitbox tings
I've got the pov pack ute
manual windows, no cc, no power mirrors
lmfao
my car is very aussie
maybe
i bought it for 12k
Dang what
it is manual
130k
i am the second owner
previous owner was an old couple
it is also the top tier spec
the ssv line
and it has a few "slight" mods
it has mufflers
it has a full 3" manta stainless system
manta is the way
one of my neighbours is a highway patrol cop who loves it
This is a summary of my car's mods:
Exhaust:
- 4 into 1 Extractors
- high flow cats
- 3" stainless Catback
Engine: - VCM 883 Camshaft
- ls7 Lifters
- Upgraded valve springs and pushrods
- VCM OTR intake
Misc: - Big brake kit
- 20" forged rims
- Upgraded clutch and gearbox
Least you aren't a V6 idiot with 3" and stickers all over it Woodsy
I respect you for that
i wouldn't be caught dead with a straight piped v6
i can just hear the sound of the red p plater in their natural habitat
the only good v6 commodore that sounds decent straight piped is the l67 equipped ones
Hey thats just our culture
the only thing you hear in the night air is the sound of someone redlining the shit out of a Harley or some p plater in their first rwd car doing a skid
tell me i am wrong
hearing the tire screech followed by a bang then silence
i had a p plater in a v6 ve try to race me
nah, he got his picture taken from the back of a ute parked on the side of the road
even more funny was another time, i was at a set of lights when this v6 ve pulled up next to me and the girl in the passenger seat said she liked my car while here bf was next to her
the dude looked sooo embarrassed
an au that still has it's stock exhaust?!?!

fresh speccy AU
not a skid pig
When??
Ripp
Crowbars fixes those problems
Or grinders
Not a issue if the issue isn't there lol
🤌
why not just remove the door altogether?
is that why p platers remove the whole exhaust?
weight reduction
i am on my full
No P plate shenanigans in the UK, must suck
i had the car while i was on my reds
christ theres levels
since i live in the state with little to no p plater restrictions
LMAO
WA
i could drive a Veyron if i wanted to
What?
as long as it had p plates
relocate to britin, we drive on the same side thats basically the only similarity.
don't you have speed cameras every 30 cm's
1mm
They legally have to tell us where they are so if you get caught you are just a dosy fucker
even the mobile ones they have to tell us the locations
"Every grain of road you touch is watched" - UK
WA has a whole total of 12 speed cameras
here I think the punishment is worse for failure to identify
here someones always accountable I believe. no cheeky ways out
Roads laws here are pretty cooked
the fines are nothing here compared to the ass fuckery you will get from insurance
Well here you have to declare everything down to a sticker to your insurance or risk being banned from driving
10mm wider tyres increases your insurance price here
my uprated brakes put my insurance up
yeah
thats really cooked
because anyone with a modified car is a lunatic
??
if you get pulled over and they find out you have undeclared mods you will be banned from driving for a year or two
We have new cameras that look for phones and seat belts
Straight up 1k fine no questions
phone in hand of course
and if you crash into someone you are mega fucked
I start deep frying at 18C
we generally dont claim off insurance here as its not worth it
money deals are done by sane people
Ah fuck those kagnaroos on the road again

Thats why I wanna get a bullbar
Sure if I hit a cow my frames fucked
I had one deer run out yesterday and was going to keep flooring it then my brain engaged and went oh yeah there is probably more.
someone hit my car in a parking lot and caved in their wing, my saab is unscratched.
my car has a tonne of support under the radiator so would probably be fine
the central jacking point is actually directly under the radiator
My intercooler sits low
Yeah crash bar
Intercooler on the older Ranger/BT's are shit tho
I was about to say that I was having a Dejavu moment.
they heat soak
