Aside from the Si, no
Lol
1.0T: 6MT or CVT
1.5T: 6MT or CVT
1.6d: 6MT
Didn't even know they still sold it with a diesel
Is that the sedan or the hatchback
And that's for the 5 door, we don't have a Si
Uhm
Hatchback
Although, that's the old Civic I think
The new one isn't here yet
Oh that explains why
Only the civic hatchback sport offers a manual it looks like
Which is kinda weird
Yeah forgot there's a new one
The rest have a CVT
Ah
(Plus the Si which is manual)
We don't have any other body variant
Oh ok
We did have the sedan... But that was discontinued
The only Honda's we can get now:
- CRV
- HRV
- Civic Hatch, old model
- e
Oh wow they offer a lot in the states
Ok no there's also the Jazz (Fit), my bad, forgot that one
Yeah Passport, Insight, Accord, Ridgeline, Clarity....
HRV, CRV, Passport, Pilot, Civic sedan and hatchback, insight, accord, clarity, odyssey, ridgeline, and some hybrids
Yeah I copied from their site lol
We are back to where we were 40 years ago
big cars and bad mileage
That’s not that true though
The people that were driving sedans now are driving small crossovers
It's a bit compensated with PHEV's, hybrids and EV's now I think?
I quite like the Bolt
But if you leave those urban areas almost nobody has an EV
Such a shame GM didn't want to sell them here
Me too, it’s a perfect city/suburban car
I drove one a few years ago and it was quite nice :)
Yeah I also drove it once, quite decent indeed
Although Europe is getting some nice EV city cars like the Peugeot e208
Haven't driven the e-208 but I have driven the Corsa-e
Same car just a different coat
Quite zippy
Just sad the new Corsa is waaay less spacious as the Corsa I have :/
That sucks
I can't fit in it properly, I'm up against the B-pillar
Well that's a trend with most new small cars weirdly
I need to get a larger car after this
Not because I need it, but I must because I don't fit
Lol, don't think they'll share a lot with Chrysler
True
Unless Chrysler is going to make small hatchbacks and crossovers xD
lol
Stellantis is actually doing quite well atm in Europe
Yeah
Especially Opel and Peugeot with their new models, sales are going very well
And they look quite good
I think it’s kind of sad that GM pulled out of Europe but at the same time they had no clue what they were doing
Well tbh, I'm also sad in one way Opel doesn't have the "freedom" anymore they had under GM
Some things they could do differently, which they now can't
Mostly just stupid stuff
Yeah
But like indicator and wiper stalks are now Peugeot stuff which is just inferior to what Opel used
Small things like that
People bemoan GM interiors but I think they aren’t bad, and it’s better than what some other brands are doing
But Opel was loosing money for over 20 years, and within 1.5 year under PSA they're making a profit
And with Holden being gone there’s no more fun stuff like the monaro vxr or Chevy SS 😢
True
Definitely better than any Ford
I do really want an Opel Insignia (Buick Regal)... The last GM Opel and I think it's the best Opel in like 20 years or so
They saved the best for last
Especially the charger and challenger 🤢
I wanted a Buick Regal tourx for a while, too bad they discontinued that car
GM’s big problem is it makes cool stuff but then doesn’t advertise it
I wante another Focus mk1
I want a TourX but without the cladding xD
The focus mk1 looks kinda derpy though
my Puegeout already has electrical problems
Like this
Bruh
Lol how
Yes I love these
We had a 307 for 10 years with 0 electrical issues
Don't laugh, but I want it with the 1.6 Turbo
That sucks, especially in the winter
200hp tho
Ah ours didn't have those
Blinking fast?
That's a known issue, contacts wear out in the headlights
Unaffordable here
😢
Even these are still 30+k if you can even find one
Blinks randomly
Also you know why the Buick Regal is discontinued?
at least when turning the wheel
As it's an Opel, and GM doesn't want to pay PSA for it 😛
Ah, classic COM2000
We even got a facelifted Insignia
so I guess I need the entire stock thingy
Looks nice
Yeah center ring or something like that
Yeah love them
One of the few modern cars I also fit in extremely well
I also sat in a Ford Mondeo recently (Fusion), but the seat can't go low enough for me. And when I'm sitting comfortably, no one can sit behind me. In the Insignia, loads of space
Apparently it's possible to fix it relatively cheap, you just need to be handy and be able to get the required part
Dunno 90s GM interiors were pretty atrocious.
They were maybe on par with Ford at the time... maybe.
Yeah, that was 30 years ago. Now they’re much better
They're still behind the foreign competition imo
GM's design language remains 20 years outdated, Ford's looks like it's recycled from what Nissan used 15 years ago, and Chrysler is recycled mercedes from the early 00s. The cost cutting era.
I agree with you
Not that the Americans make cars anymore apart from Chrysler in the US these days.
Although I think people complain too much about the quality of interior materials. I care about the quality of the buttons, the seats, the wheel and the shifter but not really anything else
It’s silly to say one car is worse than another because it has “creaky plastic” or “not enough soft touch,” are you really going to be touching that anyway?
soft touch is a meme
but there is definitely low quality surfaces
My biggest gripe about my Honda's interior is it looks and feels cheap
The plastics look cheap af, and it has some weird material in some spots that scratch extremely easily. The cloth materials feel nice, but look cheap as fuck
ironically the car costs more than the Corolla Hybrid, and I thought the Corolla Hybrid had a much more premium feeling interior
Vredestein did shut down their manufacturing site in Enschede
@charred depot literally looks like russia slums engineering
the lift cable has only broken once
that doesnt give me a good feeling
@civic girder ive been in the shittiest to the best road cars, and the only interiors that havent felt cheap to me so far has been porsche and audi
and not gonna lie even my S13s redone interior felt better than some of the newer hondas and toyotas
So today I've tried to get in someone's else car
All puegeots 307 sw look the same
I was wondering why my car wouldn't open
lol
not many people drive 997.1s around here so i have never tried to get into someone elses car
I’ve done that before too 😂
I tend to read car plates so even if my car wasnt as rare as it is I doubt id do it
I love spotting unmarked police cars
Never had that happen to me before
Dude i swear if you have a nice car everyone thinka your either rich or drug dealer
Co workers haha funny you sold some kg's
Like bruh
Makes sense
Also them judging from their company car which is more expensive probably

Yeah but they are old
Lets talk sticker price from back in the day 🤣
I mean it was still expenaive 2nd hand tho
I think modern Toyota interiors aren't significantly better than their 90s cars. Cheaper more flimsy feeling materials in some places, but similar level of quality. Never owned an older Honda so I can't compare.
My 80s Camry has outstandingly good build quality. 280k miles, 30 years later, and zero rattles ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I dunno man. New American ford vehicles have been on a tear
The interior in the Mach e, the maverick, the bronco, the F150 lightning have all gotten high praise
The maverick has one of the the nicest interiors of any vehicle at its price point
Interior wise? I suppose that’s fair
I'll be able to give a more thorough review when my dad's Mach E finally gets through production
Infotainment and gauge cluster are pretty good, but you’re right. There’s some cost cutting at that price point which is unsurprising in a new electric car
my dad's Ford Fusion on the other hand, that interior is garbage
But in terms of like soft touch and stuff, the maverick seems to strike a really good balance between cost cutting and looking nice
the materials feel nice, but the layout is abysmal and the build quality is eh
Yeah, and the eco sport and kuga aren’t good either
My mate has a puma he rated highly
even my dad has grown to somewhat hate the fusion
it only has 50k miles but he's been dailying my mom's van lately
What van?
he wants to sign the fusion over to one of my siblings as soon as his Mach E shows up
Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid
Leagues better than the gas only model. Still suffers some of Chrylser's general cost cutting shit, and the rotary dial shift knob is the dumbest thing invented for a car
Worse than a hunt and peck shifter?
But otherwise it's a great van
I’ve never used either but my parents get on fine with their rotary shifter
More than the button ones?
they're not nearly notchy enough and you can't accurately just shove it in gear
I think the button shifter in my Honda is ok
Fair enough- I suppose rotary shifters are not all created equally
I’ve never had an automatic. I drove a golf r wagon the other day and that had a normal stick shifter for the automatic, which I like because you can do it without looking
New Golf's have like a toggle switch of an inch tall
Yeah those are weird too
Clit shifter
yeah the linear sliders for automatics are way better than anything else
notchy and predictable
plus you can typically slide from reverse to drive without using the release lever, which is just so convenient
plus you can easily change between neutral and drive the same way
the weird ass tree shifters and column shifters aren't too bad. Column shifters can be super annoying tho bc they're not the most predictable and don't feature the same lockouts that linear shifters have
this is what I mean by "tree" shifter
Yeah best are just those in "1 line" imho
the shifter in my car would give you guys an aneurysm 😂
i like the gated automatics, no button to press
you just move it
same with column shifters
dial shifters suck tho
I'll just keep this
sorry i live in a country where almost no cars come with a maual side from cheap shitboxes or expensive, unpractial sports cars 🤷♂️
and a few hot hatch type cars but those are slowly becoming auto too
Yeah it's also beginning to get harder here to find a new car with a manual unless you keep it to the smaller segments
If you go a bit larger, you have a manual on the base engine sometimes, or no manual at all
Saab lost power so I put my foot to the floor while in second and it suddenly burst to life as I zoomed away from the police car behind
yeah, here if you want anything but the base spec you probably have to get auto. there are a few exceptions tho
all camaros come with a manual and i think you can get a manual in all mustangs but the gt500
Still mostly manual up here even crossover clowns
and theres stuff like a few honda civic trims, chevy spark, a few hyundais, m3, the blackwings, probably some more
miata
If I had the choice I'd still go for a manual
Most small / medium used car lots around here dont even stock automatics as they dont move.
plus most people just dont care here if the car is auto or manual
😩 😩 👀 👀
My parents dont care for a manual its just what they are used to and the way things are here.
driving is a chore to a lot of people, and you drive because you have to not because you want to
What?
It really depends on the area here, here it's still mostly manual but moving towards the coast you see more manuals as there are more traffic jams and stuff
- near the coast there are more company car, many company car buyers now go for autos
did you guys have to learn manual for your drivers license
if we dont we cant drive a manual
We have to otherwise we can't drive manuals
lol
Im rocking old shitty cars aslong as I can so the first automatic I see will be an EV
makes sense
i want to buy a miata at some point so learning to drive manual will be a "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it" deal
Something about a car which if I hadnt of wasted too much time on it would be in the scrapyard. It is worthless I could drive it into a wall and be at little loss but I do love it too much to do that.
If you pass your test in an automatic, you get a special note on your drivers license which states you are only allowed to drive vehicles with an automatic transmission
true
And as 90% or something like that used to be manuals, people got a drivers license for a manual.
And even today as a new driver, most go for a manual license as often 1st cars are still manuals
that brake hose ferrule scares the shit out of me
You pick manual over automatic?
yeah, it's like you saved it from "death" even though its completely worthless. that feeling is nice
There is a loophole tho
My friend is the king of that
If I had the choice, definitely
his blue car there was beyond fucked but hes brought it back
Why tho?
More engaging
This
What
It is
You just told us you havent driven one
So it is not more engaging at all?
You can shit manually in automatic as well with pedals etc thats even cooler
And for everyday driving ans traffic jams, auto all day every day
bit pointless though isnt it
That's not "cooler"
I don’t know, can’t tell you. But from my perspective it’s just people who think they’re the best because they drive manual
Imho
Ah yes traffic jams, weirdly enough I'm only in like 2 traffic jams a year
To each his own i gues haha, i would never go back to manual i think
Ah im in 2 per day if i go to the office hahaha
I drive alot while slightly tired so that little extra bit of engagement and consideration.
Well yes maybe then I'd also prefer a automatic
But that's not the case for me
i just like how it drives, granted i have never driven a "slow" auto
Only dual clutches i think
Dual clutch is great
Not slow car, but slow auto that shifts slower then manual
when the DCT service is
I also rather have a nice slushbox (ZF 8HP or something like that) than a DCT, but that's just personal preference
My car has a 10 speed “slushbox” and in the sport tuning mode it shifts as fast as a PDK or DCT.
Plus the advantages of having a torque converter
Doesn’t downshift very quickly though
DCT is dual clutch shortcut?
Yeah
Yes
Hmm i never really had any high costs on my DSG's
how old your car
yes
My car now is from 2012 but it has s tronic, i thibk its DSG rebranded not sure tho
well id hope it would last 9 years
Be glad you don't own a VAG product with the dry clutch DSG (1.6 TDI, 1.0-1.2-1.4TSI)... those clutches can go very fast
I have had a 17 a clasa with DCT and a golf R with DSG
I dont understand what you are saying
The wet clutch DSG's are way better
Ah okay i mean thats fair
Im just speaking from my expierence with them
My polo gti was manuel tho
I do a fair bit of stop and go traffic now but it doesent bother me too much as my job involves pulling and carrying cable
clutch feels like it doesent exist by the time I get out of work
I had a Tahoe with the 4 speed, that transmission/engine combo wasn’t too bad
Perfect for towing stuff which I occasionally did at the time
sad fuel economy noises
That was like 2012
I’ve always driven manuals, but definitely want an automatic next. My car being manual doesn’t give me any additional engagement, though I know a lot enthusiasts think so
That car got like 12 mpg 😂
Driving a DSG in non sport mode would probably take some getting used to- when you’re expecting instant response
Drive a car with no brakes and youll be glad its a manual theres an advantage
How often would you run into that though
Plus autos let you go into manual mode and choose a gear
could the torque converter not disengage if the engine speed went too low
me, once in 2-3 years of driving
In my case I could just turn my car off to bring it to a pretty fast stop
True
often vastly cheaper insurance for manuals for whatever reason be it vehicle cost or driver data
Probably as they're cheaper ?
another thing is over here if you have an automatic license and you insure an automatic, you will pay more than a "full"(manual) license holder insuring an automatic
Another thing that they discriminate you on car insurance in the UK is the gender
I believe that got stopped a few years back
it was a very stark difference back when it was a thing though
I am glad that I have a nearly full B license (without E)
In my opinion they should give restriction code 69 to people who have been caught driving drunk multiple times
Yes 2nd time caught -> alcohol lock
I know that in Sweden all work vehicles have alcohol lock. Even police cars and ambulances
Yes, this became illegal
I CAN HAZ CARS?
I wish they would do that here In Canada lol.
I pay more as a 23 yr old male then a 23 yr old female would, and I drive for a living doen some pretty shitty roads
It’s an odds game!
Very true
Like they literally take all the variables and stats they have access to
And minimax them or whatever to give you a price
It's neat learning what happens elsewhere tho.
Like the whole manual vs auto license that's new to me kinda makes sense but also weird.
I went from a 2013 gti dsg to a 2019 gti 6mt, I couldn't imagine having to retake my license just to drive my new car
But over here gender is a protected category so it ran afoul of discrimination legislation. Can’t discriminate by gender, sexuality, race or nationality
Which makes 100% sense. That's how it should be
Which is why almost all instructors teach in manual vehicles
Makes sense, I just woke up might have not read everything 100% haha.
Over here people do 20-40 hours with an instructor on average before they can pass their test and drive alone.
Man that would save a whole lot of headaches haha
It's ridiculous how many people just Get there licenses here.
You aren't even allowed to learn with your parents or anything
Learning with an instructor is kind of mandated in that way
You do a learners test at like 14 and drove with someone 18yrs or older until your 16 then you get your probationary full license some rules and stipulations until your 18 then you can get your 100% full license
I had 30hrs of lessons, average is 40-45
Man we need that here
You can learn with you parents in the uk but fuck that
I litteraly don't need any time behind the wheel to get my licenses
I could just wing it all
Well you can try to take a test without any lessons, but 100% you won't pass xD
I passed all my tests first try, but the amount of people I know that have had to redo them 3,4 or 5 times is nuts
Hell, instructors won't even risk to take you to an exam without them having instructed you themselves for a few lessons
I also passed both theoretical and practical exam first try
Last I checked most people fail the first time over here
Yall should come here and drive around for a day, I'm suprised I haven't gone bald yet ripping my hair out in frustration
Theres no way I wasnt failing the first time with my nerves
I'm by no means the best driver but the practice and time and skill I've learnt and put behind the wheel just driving, finding open lots and putting myself in "situations" and driving for my job I'm better then most of the population in my province lmao.
Makes me really want the gov't to rethink our driving standards
I take it you are in the US
Canada
Same thing :^)
Luckily it's been a tame winter so far
Imagine not having a front license plate
*glorious *
Im so glad we do not need front plates
Now i wish i could just get rid of the rear Lmao
I'm so used to it now
My front bumper even has a specific cutout for it
So without it, it would just look weird
Yea thats fair
Most countries in Europe have white plates
Netherlands?
🇳🇱 was like "Nah fam, Bright yellow it is"
Yes
Although actually I'm now also used to the yellow plates so I find it better than white plates, especially on white cars
Always wanted to go, see where my heritage came fron
Your ancestors are Dutch?
Partially haha, my dad's side is Cree and Scottish, my moms is Dutch, German, Ukrainian, and a few others
Oof
That bear plate
I had the black NL stickers makes it a bit better
Litteraly a polar bear haha I love Canada
My sisters car paint juat dying aftwr washing
It's amazing, I'd move to there just to get that plate
😂
How tf is the metal underneath the point polished and shiny
Just from being wet probably
Hahaha the bright side of things
Btw your Mk7 GTI... Doesn't it have like a different engine then in Europe?
Um I'm not to sure
All i know is its gen 3 EA888 with performance pack option so like 238bhp
I think the main thing is just petrol difference
In Europe & ROW : Recommended is (97 RON (93-94 AKI) ) and minimum is 95 RON (~90-91 AKI) for reduced performance. 93 AKI surprisingly is not available in some parts of the USA so cannot be used as a base to estimate power output nationwide unless VW wants to risk a lawsuit.
In USA /Canada: Recommended is (91 AKI (95 RON) ) and minimum is (87 AKI) for reduced performance. 87 AKI is not available in most of the world.
Mine has only ever seen 95 and 97 Ron (91-94aki)
I do know the European models have a separate set of injectors in the inlet
Which I think the US model doesn't have
Noep the don't, at least mine doesn't haha. Haven't seen one since I've had my hands in there.
Some Audi's and other models do but not the vw
Yeah to European GTI's have both MPI as direct injection
That's probably the main difference
The difference between Canadian and USA cars is crazy too Tho, America. Got shafted with them for 5he most part haha

Minot stuff like Color and options but still lol they get what they get
Brb need to find my glasses so I can see what I type
Many US Mk7 Golfs from what I've seen don't even have automatic Climate Control, while I think it was standard here on GTI's*
I got lucky. I have the 6mt autobahn edition so all the fancy
Paid like s trim gti price haha
Hell not even GTI's, you see a nicely equiped US regular Golf with satnav leather seats etc but no climate control
S is base right?
Yea
Idk we don't have that naming scheme here
Oh lol my bad
VW here are like Easyline, Trendline, Comfortline, Highline etc
Which is S, SE, SEL, SEL Premium or something I think?
No worries
The actually ditched this, now it's stuff like <nameless>, Life, Style, R-Line Business
Na naming scheme uses trend line and such but everywhere lists them as either s, SE, and autobahn
Then what ever special edition they come out with
Oof
I'm madd jealy th9
Yall get the clubsport model
I want those seats for mine so bad
You won't be jealous when you hear the 🇳🇱 prices
Hahaha you're probably right
🚀
We also get white plates. Mainly for trailers up to 750kg, but I will mount instead of the yellow on the front and just change for MOt
Yes but not on cars themsselvers
32 lessons and passed1st time
Also that's very illegal, they'll pull you over if you have that on your car instead of the white plate
I like spec on mine vs like the fully loaded autobahn.
6mt
LSD
Upgraded radio
Leather
Only thing I don't have is the dynamic cruise and adaptive suspension which I never would have used anyway. Cars getting coil overs and if im catching up to someone ill just pass them anyway haha
My sisters car paint juat dying aftwr washing
You ordered it new?
Reeeepost 😛
Last one sitting on the lot haha. If I had more time I would have custom ordered but this one was brand new and fit the bill anysay

Cars in stock isn't really a thing here, or it must be for high volume models
Definitely not for a GTI
Which you can imagine with the price
Mk8 GTI Clubsport isn't even sold here officially as they know it's a lost cause, but they would be ~60k - 65k euros (86-93k CAD)
Noice gg
I commited sacrilege tho. I removed the golf ball shifter and put a different one in when I did my short throw

Ouch. I'm not the biggest fan of the mk8 yet
What's a .heic file lol
High efficiency image format
I never use my phone camera so idk what the settings. Are lmao.

Pretty clear for 15x digital zoom tho lol
Are those tinted aftermarket units are did you tint the rear lights yourself?
This is what the normal looks like lmao
Nah what
You posted it like 15 minutes ago also
Oof, highly illegal here
Wait what
It technically is here tho but there still bright af and I've had it on for a year plus now jaha
Hmm yes i see weird
Here
oof
I rebel
I plan on getting the euro tailights for it tho it's just hard to spend a grand on them haha
One sec
Any reason you went with the GTI instead of the R ?
Uhm that line yes, but that red block is something they definitely won't do
Mainly price, it was hard to justify a 15k difference for barely awd and the little bit more power I found the r to not handle as well as the gti either plus I can do more with my car with the money I saved
Price?
I mean he has the 7,5 gti the facelift
Well purchased it new
The 7r is on par at least not a 15k difference not even here i think
I picked mine up for 35 cad all in, the r was just over 50k cad all in here
My god 63k for the new new gti
I prefer the last generation VW Golf. Mk 7.5, or whatever you want to call it.
I think it was.
Mk7.5 > Mk8 anytime
The 7 gti performance is almost same price as 7 r
100%
Golf R32 last good one
The Golf 8 is worse in almost everything
Yess
The new gti has 300hp tho same as the R
But mah technology.
Mk7 r
I love my 7.5 tho. My mk6 was fun but I honestly got bored of the dsg switching to manual 7.5 was a good move for me
Besides the fact my dsg went and broke lol
I like the looks of the golf gti more then R, but it felt idk slower the 7 non clubsport etc
So true
I drive on streets that are 4 lanes wide every day
A street isn't narrow if a truck and a car can pass.
Mk8 R? Are you blind?
Ahahahahahaha
I can see the appeal that people would like
But personally there's just to much bad changes that I can't get behind and the looks just arnt there for me
The looks, interior, ease of use, cost cutting...
Oh and the ridiculous price tag
65k here, or 95k CAD / 75k USD
I need exhaust for my car badly
Ohno the fart noises
you just hate everything 😛
😏
No, but fart noises are just unnecessary and annoying
how is it annoying you only hear it if they go full out
if you drive normal its super muffled
Because the average R driver is only going full out in residential areas
Lul
like GTI's S3's like all these cars make these noises you know this right
like a45 c63 etc etc etc
bruh
Is that a Chrysler 300
Si
5,7 V8 Hemi
I do not miss fart noises haha
Exported 5 years ago
it was my mates first car

imagine
Wow
I love it was a company car first
yes hahaha
I’m sad they got rid of the SRT 300
Now people leasing electric Kona's and stuff
This guy was like lemme get a V8 300C
Love him
like this thing handled like ass, the iside ass, but the sound
That’s a pretty sweet first car though
was so good
That about sums up Chrysler
yhe car he got after i liked more
What did he get after
E class
Bruh
Nice
this thing had like 30k km's
i dont like the beige inside but the 300c had it aswell
All black interior or busy
Bust
What's that under the mirror
Oof he only had it for a year?
Yup
Full AMG line but no dual zone AC 👀
bc its useless
and then you can go
dual zone ac but no ambient light
ambient light but no red belts
etc etc etc
OOF
this guy

I know, it's a Merc. Everything is an option
or a package with one thing you want and 9 you dont want
Radar detector
That's also a very Mercedes thing to do, put a frequently opted feature in an option pack with useless stuff and ask 4k for it, instead of just the single option
Everything can be selected separately, but that option? Nah fam
I hate when they do that
Same
@fathom socket Something for you? (The article is in Dutch) https://www.autoweek.nl/autonieuws/artikel/peugeot-405-1995-liefhebber-gezocht/

Great cars
I am actually waiting for the new Grand Tour episode
1 week
Side note, steel shifter in too hot or too cold weather is not fun haha
Can relate
You only need to shift once
Not specifically with the shifter
Metal pieces in general suck in hot or cold weather
True

My car has metal shift paddles though, so
Flappy paddles

At least I assume, I’ve never driven an f1 car xD
Lol
I just noticed that
True
For basic transportation a spark isn’t bad
It’s on the same “dirt cheap” tier as the Mitsubishi Mirage
Waay better than the Mirage
Any day
We used to have many cars in that class/segment
Spark (Opel Karl) was one of the better imho
Lol
Turbo go
Luckily no sedan, only the hatchback
I don’t think we ever got a sedan either
I thought Mirage G4 was a thing
Yeah
We had a sonic hatchback and a sonic sedan though
Cruze too
We had a Cruze diesel hatchback at one point
beast
Same
Although Chevrolet stopped selling in Europe in 2013 or 2014
Wow that recently
We had a diesel version of almost every car here
Even the Sonic
(called Aveo here)
Diesel sales are dropping now
But we used to have them in everything
Even in cars the size of a Chevrolet Spark
GM in the 70s and VW a few years ago basically killed off diesel cars (aside from trucks) in the US
They have a Tahoe diesel now though
Kinda cool
Sadly diesel is now also dying due to dieselgate
My brother has a diesel Volvo hatchback
Also had a diesel Fiat Punto (car sized like my Corsa, or Ford Fiesta/Chevrolet Sonic for your reference)
Diesel can be great for passenger cars also if you do longer trips
Nice
I'd still drive a diesel if necessary
GM makes a 6.6L TT V8 diesel 😂
445HP and 910Lb-Ft torque
Ford has one too, theirs is a 6.7
But it's taxes high here so it only makes sense if you do more than 15k miles/year
Yeah those big truck V8's are awesome
If I lived in Europe I’d consider a diesel
They are
One of my friends has an f350 with the 6.7, that truck is a beast
Makes sense
I drive a 6.6 duramax 2019 denali for work. Not a bad truck but much prefer the ford's
Remapped my brothers Volvo diesel
Base was just 120hp
Now 180hp which is ... Actually very reasonable
And 400Nm / 300ft lb?
Lol
I like all the trucks, but I think fords look the best
Earthen clay is the color
Cleaner than my home
Very beautiful
I like the RAM's the most personally
100%
The rams are nice

It's 100000x better than a Golf Mk8 😛

When it is pre PSA
Well yeah it's the same as the GM Chevrolet Spark
Most Cantas is diesel operated if i mind correctly
Yeah
Disabled car: Petrol; "Normal" 45 km wagon: Diesel
Yeah
About diesel, a company from Loenen, Veluwe makes motorcycles based on VW TDI engines
Cool
Man. The new scirroco, pole and lupo
I wish i could get
Need an ltt beanie just for this thing
Was sitting in my school lot today and someone pulls up with a lifted full cab full bed f350
With power extend running boards
That was one damn big truck if i do say so
New Scirocco? 🤔
Well newest gen.
We haven't had a scirroco in yeaaars here
And corrodo so much want
I should just move to Europe
Yeah I can’t understand why US trucks don’t have more diesel V8s
Like can you even buy the new defender with a 6cyl diesel in the US? Seems like the perfect engine for that sort of car
If you have a car as big and heavy as a US light duty truck for towing and hauling and shit, a big ol’ Diesel engine with great low end torque would be the best thing
Europe it's also gone since 2017, which has been the same model since 2008. Based on the Mk5 Golf so ancient
In some markets even discontinued earlier (2013)
I don’t know much about off roading but I feel like diesel would be well suited to off-road vehicles
Which one?
Yeah it’s pretty weird, all the 1/2 ton trucks have 6 cyl diesels.
Oops wrong message
Meant to reply to a different one
That duramax i6 is pretty good tho, I drove a yukon with one and it was not bad
Can't you also get that engine in the Escalade?
Yeah
The Tahoe and suburban have it too
They have the same engines as the Silverado minus the 4 cylinder
Wait there's a 4-cyl for the Silverado?
Yeah lol
It has 310hp and 420lbft of torque though
It’s the same engine that’s in my car actually

Idk don't think I'd get a truck with a 4 cyl
No offense
It's perfect for your CT4
But a truck?
If the truck ever gets used for it's intended purpose, it won't last as long
Although if it's a truck solely used for city driving... It's probably fine
I wouldn’t buy a 4 cylinder truck either
If I was in the market for a truck I’d skip the V6 too, at least in the Silverado and the ram
The 5.3 is good tho
Literally made for the truck
CT4 uses a truck engine
Sure, but yeah it just doesn't fit a truck
Damn it even features cylinder deactivation? On a 4-cyl truck? What's it using then, 2 cylinders?
Our daily driver truck is a 6.2L that gets 13mpg
Meanwhile my company has buses that have 1.6 liter engines with like 80 hp
New hobby just now started!
Cool
It's stock speed is 31mph my big motor is coming next week and I'll swap it and it will hit 106 mph with a bigger battery. Something tells me it's my biggest new hobby yet.
woah cool a cars channel
how sweet
Here is my car
The 3 series
Claudia is the name, bad fuel economy is the game
Do you have any mods?
Well i guess the exhaust is a "mod" but its mostly just because the muffler hanger broke off
so i had a shop weld in a pipe
I also cut out the charcoal filter
From the airbox
its for emissions, and its a non removable filter element that gets clogged over the years
Gets better throttle response now
Im a simple girl, all i wanted was rwd and a 6 speed manual
that is what i got
I love how it never snows in Vancouver until the one time i park on the street
We are not going there
Rip
I'm looking to get a e92 330i as a daily but haven't found a good one yet (m sport package, manual, in good state)
E92 imo is one of the most beautiful cars

335i then?
Or no e92 at all?
325i from sept 07 onwards has same 3.0 motor from the 330i
Ouch
That sucks
The 335i is cool and all
Turbo, power woo. Etc etc
But the 330i is more a drivers car
Dream car still is e92 m3 though
Dct
Stripped
Caged
The sound
Ohhh
I go to nurburgring a lot, a lot of them there
The sound is the tits
Before the rona i went almost twice a month
🥰
3hr drive if traffic is cool
350km
😍 😍
A fast 4 series would be cool too
Little more modern
But the e92 still is the goat
6 cyl sounds so good
I currently own a 4 cyl shitbox without interior and a bicycle
suprised my starters still alive, been having to start the engine while driving
300mm front brakes
Team dynamics pro race 1.2 15" 7j
Nankang ns2r
Some powerflex stuff, some suspension stuff and no interior
Rims are a tight fit over the brakes 😂
It's fun
Track in the rain is nice and slippery
That starter hurts
pop starts with a broken engine mount
Meanwhile I've had this ford for almost 4 years
0 issues
Untill i started modifying it
I had no maf for a few a days so everytime I put the clutch in the engine would turn off
my coolant pipes are all soaked with oil im suprised they havent deteriorated
£450 saab with less issues :^)
Wut
To be fair what % of people driving them would actually check their gauges
I never drive moderately
😂
Next year again
Asap
Got this one printed and hung up on the wall behind my desk
Haha
For me the pre lift focus looks like it has an evil face
Same with puegeout 307
With orange cheeks 🤣
Yep
I havent quite worked out how I will fit a engine and a hoist in my boot but ill work that out when I get there
atleast your rear suspension is slightly more advanced than: beam
I want to take the saab on a trackday but they cost half as much as I paid for the car over here
mainly just porsches etc
I always wanted to take my focus on track
I dont need insurance : )
But it became a 3 cylinder
Don't need insurance on track
unless ofcourse you are worried about destroying your car
Ahh yes, but still the beam ones can be the most fun ones
Nurburgring, 30 eur a lap
325 aud for 5x 20 min is cheap
I could move my sway bar link by hand. Car might handle better now with new ones although it is pretty rolly.
its probably still rolly
I can drive away 160 eur on the nurburgring in under an hour
5 laps
Easy sub 10 mins
And my car is slow
Just dont bin it
Id like to drive to the nurburgring to do a few laps but I dont quite trust this car enough not to breakdown
all the way from Scotland
Trust my 1987 peugeot 305 more although with its 50hp
not the best for trackdays
can barely merge onto a motorway
Keep momentum
it has a top speed of like 80-90mph
I overtook a porsche 3x in my slow piece of shit
theres slow and then theres slooow
