FBI has suburbans.
yes
ive just never seen any in person
I saw a few responding in a convoy once. Strangely it was nowhere near anything special. They had US government plates
🤔
idk if it was a test or something but they were flying through my town
i think there were four or five of them
i don't remember that well though I think I was like 10 at the time or something
This is my latest creation. It is a small block chevy, 383 stroker with a 6-71 blower. It is a 4-bolt main block, Scat crank, steel I-beam rods, Mahl blower pistons, ProComp aluminum heads and a Howards blower cam. Blower is a Weiand straight rotor 6-71 running at 8% underdrive. With 9 pounds of boost, it runs on 93 octane pump gas. Carbs are Ca...
It's custom. I believe the chassis/door were stretched 8 inches or so.
These cars are used for parking enforcement, traffic control, and patrolling in Central Park and other areas that aren't friendly to larger police cars.
I know
so neat though. plus bikes suck lol i'd rather have the smart anyday
not to mention in the rain. bikes really suck then
Doesn't look to be streched tbh
Maybe they moved the seat a bit back but the chassis looks standard
here's Shaq and John Cena in a smart car
No idea I can't remember why 😂
Ew
My transmission went out on the highway
Chevy
How?
Im not sure, i think it was defective. Only 20k miles, never really thrashed, and its automatic.
I was going 60, the car lurched, and i could smell a disintegrated clutch.
Its under warranty, and the Hyundai said the whole transmission needs to be replaced. Im not going to question it, since its free
Yeah, not a great start to the week
@scenic storm
You know damn well I can gap you
And you'd roll over in the corners
Dude has a prius
@burnt orchid
yes
Cringe @burnt orchid
no u
clutch AuTomAtiC? WhEn
Since the 90s.
Dual clutch automatics are pretty common. Tho mainly among the Germans and Koreans.
Just taking the piss mate
learns about engineering
"JuSt TaKiNg ThE pIsS mAtE"
rip in peace
still more reliable than a Nissan pos
and more fuel efficient
Petrol getting more expensive every month
Yea, makes me glad my new daily gets about 500 miles out of 10 gallons
A bit higher than mine
The petrol engine of Ertiga is a 1462cc unit which generates a power of 91.19bhp and a torque of 122nm. The 1462cc CNG engine of Ertiga puts out 103.26bhp of power and 138nm of torque.
how the heck does the cng variant have more power
better compression or something
i feel good when i see 79 HP in my saloon compared to big cars having 90 HP
weak
1999 suburban k1500 (5.7l) had like 255
too weak
but for a 940 kg car
it really has a bad intake i suppose
totally restrictive
cummins swap it
??
Going to decrease the power to weight even more if you do.
but, incredibly large amount of power

I like the way this guy thinks
im currently driving a car with 22kg/kW. 😦
My car is about 1350kg and 61kW (83ps)
or how I would say it: hella slow acceleration.
900kg saloon car ver nice
Radeon RX 350 rare photos
Rip 900kg cars the smallest cars nowadays are all above 900 👀
Miata is one of the lighter cars. And that's still above 1,000 kg.
Because of the law requiring safety shit
And people only wanting to buy taller and larger cars.
trucks
nearly became a sandwich between some parked car at the curb and some guy in a cateye duramax dually
was ok tho since kool truck
want to be safe? get one of these thicc bois nothing will be able to harm you
exept crew cab
Pretty sure they're exempt from testing over a certain weight.
Size being safety is a bit of a fallacy
ok but if someone in a small car rams you guess who will come out in better condition
hm
thicc
Vandalism or a technical defect?
Unknown reason
im pretty sure my car has a collapsed cat but how did it pass the MOT emissions test
maybe its just clogged but not sure how
I think my Supra is sitting at about 1100kg right now with the motor out. I can pick it up from either end.
So it can’t be very much
Heck it may be less than 1100
probably correct. now i live in the US and a guy I know had a collapsed cat and his car passed emissions. The worker told him to get it replaced but he said the reason why is because the collapse restricted the airflow and there was still some material left inside that restricted airflow.
because it has no engine
Roasted
I have no idea what you roasted though because i have suburban kid blocked.
literally this dude child
Aren't you the child?
I saw one of those the other day rip
o:
have to pay more for nationwide breakdown cover because my cars are over 16 years old
such ageism
ive seen a few of those fat mustang'nt's
shooooot you pay for breakdown coverage? i just fix on the side of the road.
my cars are 27 and 34 years old
my cars are both 24 years old
I simply don't break down lol
and if I do, I either fix them myself on the spot or have my dad come with a trailer
-_- older then most people here
Corolla is 2 years old, Jeep is 20.
I dont have them to fix the car I have them to tow it home
its £60/y
my cars are 26 and 35
I dont have space for a trailer
Anyone into trucks? Just moved to Canada and bought my first lol
that seems like a lot
What kind?
Its not when you factor in the cost to transport a car 400 miles
This is personal cover for any car I am in. As I like buying shitboxes which I may be buying from far away its useful
This is fun n all
But we pissed off enough people going 10 miles plus its probably maybe not good for the gearbox
@burnt orchid Hoovies Rip Tide Blue 2005 Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum, the pinnacle of GMT800, is for sale.
As the ultimate GMT800 admirer, you must purchase it
Chevy Silverado 1500 2012 with the 5.3l v8 😄
The only truck I drive is a daf with a 13 liter i6 engine
I was gone for a week and this collects dust so bad
1:1 scale in height, but width and length not accurate
welp lol I had that for 5 years never knew
road maintenance slowly disappears from this point
you mean 10:1?

Dream cad
done well for 180k miles without any proper servicing.
probably just a spark or fuel issue then will be able to do some more
Camry's don't die. They just take a break to let others catch up.
Its a pretty rare car over here. people often take pictures of spotting it.
the 305 front brake discs are funny when compared to modern cars
futuristic looking caliper though, no sliders to seize up.
tiny brakes
at the end it looks like the surface of the moon 😂
theres a 60mph major road a little further up with a nasty bit of surface on a bend which gives you a burst of understeer
its not so bad now that im on 205's
heh
you should see the brakes on my Golf
239mm rotors
my Jetta has the bigger vented rotors
they're a whopping 256mm
Corrados and most MK3 VR6s have 280mm rotors
vented are probably way better, ive had a far bit of fade with the saab.
dont know what these unvented ones on the peugeot are going to be like but its not a very quick car.
there is a GTX model of the 305 which got vented brakes
Vented for cooling. Brakes fade really quick once hot
Those discs would heat up so fast
2021 new Chevy Trail Boss
@fathom socket cool, also i think someone owns a similar truck here, a red one it also has that badge on the side
@viscid atlas does it have the Trail Boss sticker in the back
@viscid atlas do you want to see my purse?
Sure

this road was fun
IIRC it was the a628 from manchester to sheffield
IDK if taking the a57 would be better tho
You are now legally driving on the RIGHT side of the road
oooh damn that looks like a nice beamer too
Rip
murderer
OOOF
That will be an expensive repair cuz it's a BMW
Last MOT of that car
"Overall body condition is poor, many welded plates and patches, some tape covering holes in wing edges."
"Oil leak, but not excessive Engine has an epic long term leak that congeals on the front of the block instead of dripping off. (8.4.1 (a) (i))"
Was my friends, got sold onto someone who ran out of fuel and instead of getting fuel opted for towing it with a rope but instead the towing eyelet ripped out with the lower valence. Then the next owner hit 2 deer and now he has it back as it was going to be scrapped which he didnt want to happen.
is there a gtx 480 in your tailpipe
Ford dividends are back on the menu.
Turns out their Q3 earnings are better than anyone expected.
How it feels like driving around in a vw up
Charlie Roberts was at the VW Breakout Show at Santa Pod Raceway in his VW UP, which is fitted with a VW 2.3l V5 Golf and gearbox, which produced 200bhp on the rollers at EST Performance. He has been running in the mid 13's on this setup, but with the added help of a 75hp shot of NOS, he broke into the 12's with the quickest run being a 12.72 @ ...
F10?
Have you ever heard of Golf IV Hans Dahlbäck?
Cool
Took the photo at VW Museum in Wolfsburg, Germany
Who says a sedan isn’t practical 😂
Laughs in long hatchback
Uh
I’m still waiting Apple
For ur car
In collaboration with Toyota or Honda
No
That’s too low
Even iPhones can do more
But Apple thinks of longevity
I hope
I JUST hope if they design a car they should be collabed with a good reliable automaker like Toyota
But this looks like a Mercedes’ rip off
What the
But all of my Apple products including my dads he got from the 2G onwards they actually work fine
Unless u count for the dogslow software
Only recent Apple thing that gave up for us was a iPad 6th gen
The port layout wasn’t good they put plastic brackets inside instead of the aluminum or steel
Imagine curbing the wheel on this thing
I would buy no joke
Not gonna be Toyota. They have no real incentive
lol it'll be GM
Dad absolutely attacked the unpainted speedbump, I glance up from my phone and see it and im just like "I accept fate".
When I first got pranked by it in the saab I saw it and ending up skidding over it while trying my best to slow down.
temperature sensor broke?
Maybe idk
It overheated in summer and it cools too much in winter
Also i have no compression on cylinder one
At least when cold
I need to get a proper compression tester and boroscope
That was from 2018 we didn’t hear anything else from then 😦
At least Honda
I hope not GM is not good for longevity
My 911 got a new exhaust
It sounds awesome
Flat 6
Ugh I really want the gt2 rs but i guess my current turbo will be fine
I actually driven one when I went to the dealership in South Carolina. It shifts instantly and handles like a race car there is no play on the wheel you can move the car left and right slightly with your finger it is that responsive. But I can't afford one lol
Sadly I don't own a super car but I'm perfectly happy with my daily driver truck that takes me to every state in the us. Just hope my Engine won't blow up at 410k miles. I can always get a new engine with 70k miles on it
Got that new chunky brown coolant
Heard it's good for
Not finishing jokes apparently
I heard you cant mix oil and water
undoes drain plug on a subaru
Sure looks mixed too me
@cursive hazel show me your 911
prolly from overheating
did you ever replace your thermostat
sounds like its sticking
no
Mmmm choccy milk
I think at this point IDK if it's even worth
should've investigated why your car was overheating to begin with
and pay closer attention to the gauges so you can shut it off before it gets too hot
ooh send pix
Honda isn't doing EVs right now
Their US products will use GM platforms
based?
isnt the Honda E made by Honda alone?
finna kms now, i really want a apple car
It is, it's the mercedes vision gt with apple logos. (and weird wheels)
Ye
Lol that’s what I expected
I really wouldn’t want Mercedes’ callab with Apple
At least BMW at the least
Check the cooling as always a car is just like a pc
One reason the best car for a pc enthusiast is a Porsche 911, when you open the rear engine door, you will see 2 fans that look like a pc’s fan lol
Yes, and the Honda e is is only one car, and last I heard it's a one off platform.
One that isn't particularly good imo. It's stylish, cute, and techy, but practical it is not. Also it's basically disappeared from media since it dropped
It's also selling horrendously bad
So far this year, Honda managed to sell 16 Honda e's in 🇳🇱 , which is a 0.0067% market share
Hell, even more Ferrari Roma's have been registered (17)
And it's not like EVs aren't selling.. over 20% of new cars sold are BEVs
~50.000 so far this year, of which 16 Honda e's
Love all the gas guzzlers biden brought here to the climate conference.
I dont think they had a single EV to atleast pretend
5 planes and 85 cars
Realities of keeping your staff safe outweigh all else.
Wouldn't be surprised if the next presidential limo turns out to be an EV.
lol then again the weight of armor and batteries?
Well that seems very on-brand
They do, and this is one of them.
Banned in the Carolinas, and I never really saw that when I lived in Alabama.

what would you pick

I'd go with the 505

It looks hideous
I only buy Burtons then
Imagine not buying Donkervoort
Never heard of them, but they are at least not as expensive as Spyker
Burton are some 2 seat convertibles based on 2CV's
Burton Car Company makes cares based on Citroën 2CV
Ah de lelijke eend, my dad hates them lol. Childhood traumas of going holiday while the car was too cramped lol
Imaging sitting in a Peel P50
At least you can park it next to your desk at work
the first cylinder is shot
there is a lot of white smoke coming from the exhaust and strongly smells like gasoline
but no signs of blown headgasket
I just noticed this sticker on my cars door that says where it was built, how neat.
That's pretty cool
I know most cars have something similar, but nothing that loud and proud.
Pulled this off in VR AC two days ago
understeered and hit wall, but did a 360 next to a friend lmao
Texas 🏇 🤠
Yee haw

Just sitting 4 minutes in the bus and i see already 5 cars without taillights on in the dark

Omg
It sounds so good
And is appreciating like crazy
Next year the John Frost bridge will be closed for 6 weeks
Wrong photo or channel?
this is what happens when a company like tesla is anti right to repair
No, we're not worthy to work on our saviors creation. Some see it as a lack of repair, but Elon knows what's best for us
||/s||
Another reason to not buy a Toyota https://www.reddit.com/r/electricvehicles/comments/qlze2i/toyota_calls_on_congress_to_shoot_down_unionbuilt/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
doesn't matter what engine you put in, you can't fix garbage
Toyota Aygo is a Peugeot 107 with some Japanese witchcraft
@fathom socket mk1 focus owners when
friends winter car for £350 with 8 months of MOT.
well, I agree that tesla is garbage, but it's super cool how they rebuilt the thing to fit a v8 engine/driveshaft/cooling/fuel, and still have a full interior/have the touchscreen still work
Like I said, you can't fix garbage
The design of the shell is poor in every aspect
also can't forget that "oooooooh V8 swap! I've never seen that before...." said with extreme sarcasm
i feel you're missing the point of the exercise though, it's basically a giant middle finger to tesla
a v8 swap in a normal car is common, but not in an electric vehicle, they had to basically reengineer the entire body to fit everything
it's the only one in the world like that
speaking of v8 swaps anybody see that widebody ls swapped delorean in progress rn
that think is looking crisp
don't know about a ls delorian, but i did see a 2jz one

i'm so happy that turbo ls's are a thing now
for the longest time people were just sticking blowers on them and calling it a day
i have never messed with an ls
pretty sure there's been a few swapped teslas at this point
although i have one being shipped to me as we speak 😂
seen worse
as far as I know, that's not the case, but i could be wrong
thats after a repair thats been done already heh
I found two different LS swap Tesla videos on YouTube, and 100% remember hearing of a turbo rotary swap Tesla at one point
at least it doesn't look like someone fixed it with construction foam
is it common to use construction foam on cars
if you are shady yes
this one was a fake
mainly to get things through inspections
this one was the one in the video/pic i posted
Friend had a BX which the enter rear quarter was made of wood sheets covered with plaster / filler shite.
it legit has some huge holes in the side from rust and they were trying to support the exterior paneling
@charred depot but also my focus has no compression on cylinder 1
add some oil to the fuel
ohhhhh ouch
like polyfilla ontop of a sheet of wood
so what i want to do for my stuff
sadly this one got taken apart, too much time needed.
is actually weld in patch panels where things have rusted
with tig or something
and try to smooth the metal out for painting
and i havent decided if thats a crazy idea yet
that is normal with a mig
i just dont like the thought of using fiberglass or whatever bondo is to fix issues like that
it just feels wrong
this is how my fix does look like
there was a hole the front passager door lengtwise
just a bit of welding needed
what even is that?
Vauxhall Chevette
why does it sound like a GM name
Well it is a vauxhall
idk much about vauxhall other than it's just a british opel now
The welding goes pretty quick but most of the repair panels for these cars have to fabricated and cant be bought
inner arches are annoying along with front bumpers
the front bumper is the reason that car is cut up into pieces, it sacrificed that.
Eh but u don’t know the effort they put into any engine they design, it goes through countless iterations of stress which is mostly not done in a regular basis
Could be a good homemade Ariel atom
ah 70's budget car suspension, truly the best choice.
All auto companies put great effort into engineering their cars. Plus, that doesn’t excuse the fact that Toyota lobbies against EVs and does other shady things.
I dont think any large company is innocent.
Ye
Ye I think their leaning more toward hydrogen
They should be focusing on EVs
however
ev's are NOT ready for prime time
work on them
sure
i have an issue with us trying to push them so hard without factoring in consequences like skyrocketing power grid load
essentially, i can see why toyota would want to push back a little bit
but i still havent read why they are doing it
EVs are as ready for primetime as any time now.
And smart charging and building out infrastructure will happen.
As it did with the adoption of more and more appliances.
Pretty sure their testing on ev’s
Just like how it took 14 years for the next gen tundra
Toyota's focus on EVs could be stronger.
14 years for the next Tundra... problem 14 years for a sequel requires a revolution.
It probably is
Toyota needs to push the narrative like they did in the 80s.
Right now they have a single product, not yet on sale.
Meanwhile Hyundai and GM are working out the inevitable teething issues. And Ford has leapfrogged Toyota on hybrid tech.
Not on hybrid tech
Toyota is still king on that
But I’ll agree on the ev situation
The F150 PowerBoost is far more versatile than anything Toyota makes.
I FORCE MAX power train is far superior
Ford's powerboost idea alone has leap frogged most EV makers on being able to use the vehicle in home powering situations.
How is the iForce Maxx superior?
It lacks the ability to power a house.
Ohhhhh
It's a straight up conventional hybrid powertrain.
Ye
But how can it do that
More power... maybe? But we all know that modern turbo engines are a boost up away from more power.
kilowatts of power output and lots of outlets.
I guess the only thing holding Toyota back is just the reliability
Oh
one sec
It's a glorified generator at this point, but the concept is sound imo.
I'm honestly hoping the iForce-Maxx at least beats ford on fuel economy. Otherwise that's going to be embarrassing.
At least Toyota does have the reliability thing going for them.... and the styling imo. lol
I guess Audi's dealership has it's own private road called 4 rings.
Oh and that's a really good shape 1990s or 2000s ram 2500
24 Valve it
no 12valve all the way
hmm, do you think ev's are gonna have some kinda specialized job for servicing them?
like current automechanics?
Yeah. They will. Considering that they deal with high currents. A normal technician can do stuff like the suspension, etc. But maybe not dig into the battery.
prob can specialize with training or something
lamo my guardian is an automechanic, so every time an ev like a tesla comes in, he just calls in a tow truck or something
DAFaq happened here

So this british with a machete showed up and cut my truck in half because i ran into him, i literally couldn't do anything
Omg
35k for a modern Gallardo
Their has to be a major catch
For sure
Where dit you het that photo?
I’m pretty sure
Flat 6 turbo >>> NA v10 @ performance
Datsun
The time when Nissan was good and before the engine was “plastic”
21 911 turbo vs 14 gallardo, the porsche has 10 more hp
imagine only liking cars from one country
not true
ever seen a porsche
I prefer my Corolla
lolwut
no they dont
literally all cars from the 60s/70s/80s are the same few cars with different badges stuck on
the corolla probably has more power than the engines in those old cars
Since your insults are about as mature
My car makes more per liter than any barge from the 70s
8 liters, 200 horsepower
My car 2 liters gets 170
What do you drive?
your car makes 0 hp
Thought so
he doesnt
Acting like one isn't hard
I had total brakes failure
Got me this far
Ye but again weight distribution in Porsche makes it I think win
Base 911 can beat any m3 or m4
Like a modern one
Uh
Gallardo > Huracon
i wonder who would win? totally not completely obvious to anybody with even 1/512 of a brain cell
...
yes, because 70s muscle cars, much like 90s toyota supras, come with 1500hp stock from the factory
Of course
And are worth more than a house
And the Lambo only makes how much again?

All faster than anything from the 70s
https://youtu.be/Mr5V0uDnUQY
when vtec kicks in
cant
Yes every Porsche is exactly alike!
i understand you like older american lux cars more but
our cayenne has pretty worn down summer tires rn
we found a set of wheels with KO2s mounted on them
it's gonna look really stupid, but really cool too
thats fine for summers :^|
48 rn
by about 3 or 4 degrees lol
35F here
no one I know has anything other than summers.
ooh on monday there's a high of 62
a lot of people i know have all seasons lol
I'd be burning at 62

That's freakishly warm
I cant wait for snow to come, I may be getting 2 winter tyres this year
wait 62 c or f?
||That's my joke||
110c is boiling
lame joke

a few years ago the temperature was 90+ where i live, that was horrible
Imagine using inferior Fahrenheit
Need to install some grit dispensers at the wheels of the saab
Imagine not using SI units
some truck companies here dont even fit winter tyres so the motorways are chaos
thats wonderful
it basically becomes one truck gets stuck, another truck starts overtaking that truck and gets stuck next to it.
I don't fit winter tires
neither but its tempting as I change my route
i have all seasons
ive seen people try to take on the hills and eh
very convenient because the weather can change on a dime where i live
i wake up and drive to work in the morning in very cold winter temperatures, then drive home feeling like it's the summer
been caught out by snow before
The peugeot has some very old winter tyres on it I think
atleast on the front

imagine using only one and not using both like a boss

Oof
I'm glad I was able to pull him out of the car that was spilling gas oil and transmission fluids
Not a scratch on him. Toyota did a good job
can I have that car tho?
looks more drivable than mine
how did he do that
Loose gravel and his age was 91 so his reaction time isn't as great he says
I'm happy to hear he's fine
I heard it was use to get unstuck in sandy areas like the beach or the Sandy desert.
Or you can just put a dance music and do that haha
theres a website where you can see the most recent car spots
the most recent car spot in my city (25th october)
heres the most recent spot in the world
<autogespot.com> i think
@finite belfry 996 turbo are very interesting purchases
i think 996, 997.1 and 997.2 are going to go up in price in the next 10 years
7 wheel drive lol
We drive the new 2022 Toyota Tundra and talk to the engineers about the development. These big changes to the engine and platform make it closer to the new Land Cruiser in terms of design. The updated technology brings it closer to the Ford F150, RAM 1500 and, Chevy Silverado. We discuss the pros and cons and more.
#tundra #toyota #landcruiser
...
Long story short. New Tundra is essentially a Land Cruiser with a bed
the video was captured at 2:59-3:00pm ish.
Captured on I-95 south
My mom got a accident on camera
Yeye
Those things are ancient
Pretty sure their also unreliable
Are the v6 land cruisers reliable?
1989 Dodge Ram D350 Dually Cummins Turbo Diesel
neat
That's clean af
I saw a mint Suzuki Ignis Sport on the freeway today.
Behold the beast
At least it's not a three wheeler.
It was free too
best be changing it over to a manual
I was gonna slap a t56 on it
But
I found a working 4l80e for 600 bucks out of a truck
And i can setup paddle shifters for that

Lmao
I don't disagree manuals are fun
But i have always wanted paddle shifters
And paddle shifters in a 79 firebird sounds amazing
Plus it was already an automatic to begin with using a turbo 350
And the thought of hacking on the tunnel for a stick and screwing that up gives me the heebie jeebies
I really want to slap a BMW drivetrain in a cheapshit saab
it will be alot of fabrication but
Fabrication is fun tho
Have a space for it now too then there is a drift track nearby I can roll up to and confuse some people
Will never be able to drive it on the road sadly
Y not
explaining that one to insurance
Paddle shifters are OK
yeah so we just like cut half the floor out and the entire boot
Insurance on something like i have will already be astronomical
Almost 20 year old with an ls swapped muscle car lmao
Its high enough which is why I wont even do suspension modifications
Do they actually look at it when you add it
Here they don't care, don't even have to walk in to add something
lol
Depends but usually no. however modified cars get pulled over and if I were to be involved in a accident or pulled over id be banned from driving.
not a risk im going to take
They get pulled over just for being modified?
Yes. When we take out insurance we are forced to explicitly state there is no modifications.
police car sees a civic dragging its ass "no modifications"
Wait where are you even
The "Kirkcaldy modified car police".
States?
Scotland
Ah
Yeah i could make mine emissions legal here if i wanted to lol
Its an engine out of an 04 avalanche
Emissions is the least of my problems
So i just take it to a place and they verify it works as i did in the donor vehicle
And it's emissions legal
Most insurance companies here wont even insure engine swaps let alone cutting half the floor out for a tunnel.
I'm just saying i could even get it that far if i cared
I don't remember if ours explicitly ask or not
But you regularly see modded cars around here that are fully registered
here its well known to be very much a big nono. Why you rarely see anything interesting outside of dumb aesthetic mods.
Kinda like how I'm not going to Cali
They fine you for a cold air intake iirc
Course they would have to know
id love to swap a little diesel into my saab to save money on fuel. but that would just be transferring the money spent on fuel to a hiked insurance rate.
Hell you can just drive with no plates here most of the time in my state
Cops just don't care
I would recommend not doing that lol
One day you could come across one in a bad mood
id probably take the risk if it was fines and not lol get banned from driving for atleast a year then when you get unbanned have to pay 5x the amount for insurance.
But then we are in the middle of the whole police defunding thing here so that might be taming them
As long as modifications don't mess with emissions, it should be fine imo
oh and I suppose noise regulations.
we technically have to declare down to a sticker to our insurance companies
Idc about emissions it's a waste of everyone's time and money
I wouldn't say money.
all these people putting fake M badges on their car then having it stolen and their claim denied
Especially since the coal rollers can just stop coal rolling
Higher emissions have been linked to increased medical costs.
Which in the US everyone does have to pay at the end of the day.
That's 20 dollars added to your insurance premiums.
And EPA when they do catch you, will fine you a decent amount.
Frankly getting the EPA to actually fine private owners means those owners 10000% deserved it.
And then the rest of the time like one of my friends
One of his o2 sensors is messed up
Stock vehicle
So it's running a tad lean from the altitude
Yeah, I doubt they're gonna throw much of a tizzy over that.
And that won't pass emissions
I can't speak for state emissions, I was only referring to federal.
I'm talking specifically about our state emissions testing here
Its absolutely infuriating
Yeah, but by the same count I'm all for cleaner air.
You wont even be tested here if you have an EML on
The US, especially the midwest would benefit greatly from some form of safety inspection on road going cars.
Some cars should NOT be on the road.
At the very least it would incentivize people to actually take care of their rides.
I'm for cleaner air so long as the 500 year old people making the regulations that don't understand physics and engineering don't start going way beyond what is feasible
Nothing the government has proposed is impossible.
I remember when everyone screeched at the back up camera mandate.
Turns out the cost of adding that in wasn't hundreds of dollars rather tens.
Every year, we just keep pushing harder and harder
We have to. You can always buy another car. You can't buy another environment.
majority of modern cars have horrible screens might aswell use them for something useful.
And automakers have risen to the challenge each time successfully.
Yeah no i don't appreciate being told what I'm going to have on my car at all
That was just for new cars no?
I appreciate automakers being held to a standard.
And I like having ABS, airbags, and a few dozen other safety goodies.
and yes. That is for new cars.
so no real issue
Its pretty much why i like old cars
And to be fair, the market has largely pushed for safer cars with strong safety tech.
Bring MOT to America
^
There are cars that should not be on the road.
Abs is nice
ABS has saved my ass a few times.
you never know when you might want to deploy smoke screen
I get that people can do that pump brake thing, but a modern system is going to trounce your foot 10/10 times in most conditions.
And apparently modern SUVs will fill in the niche conditions like sand... which is wild.
I don't like it mainly because it makes brake bleeding way harder
Im a huge self vehicle repair kind of person
had no problems with just a vacuum bleeder at the caliper.
Don't you have to activate the abs actuator though?
I'll take the inconvenience personally. There's a good chance I'll never personally work on my Corolla.
no
Everything I've seen is that you have to
Jeep tho? meh. I'll sell it if something serious brakes.
Or some have a bleeder on them if you are lucky
never heard of it and our civic had all of its hardlines done by the time it was scrapped.
I imagine a lot of OBDII tools have a bleed function for the ABS unit.
There are a lot of things you can still DIY engine wise, but you either need computers... or heaven help most owners... a proprietary piece of streamed software.
Its only if you want to replace all of the fluid you need to do that
I know getting the rear brakes changed in the Corolla are going to be a pain to replace.
alternatively you can flush the system, bleed it. go out for a drive and slam on the brakes then flush it through again.
I get why electronic parking brakes are a thing. But I don't like them.
That's my boomer breaking point.
I just like the idea that it's your sheer strength that's keeping the car from moving. You gotta pull hard on the parking brake to make it stay. Or press it down all the way. The button? Is my finger really all that's needed to keep 3000 pounds of steel from moving on a hill? So I pull/push the button twice just to be sure.
never trust the handbrake anyway
dads car didnt have a handbrake for basically 3 years but were able to adjust it out so far each year for the MOT that the rusted solid mechanism being pulled on would put enough force on the shoes.
then it ran out shoes and we were forced to actually solve the problem
hill starts were fun in the hyundai
clutch took a fair bit of punishment from my dad but seems it was the throwout bearing that has suffered and not the friction material.
will maybe be the point it gets scrapped. he doesent really care what he drives but doubt I can fob the saab off to him with its fuel economy.
will probably be worth it to just fix the hyundai the way prices are going.
thats the thing i just want to bleed the brakes and be done
and not faf with a computer to do it properly
if the abs module had a bleeder id be fine but i really got the impression thats a luxury
well you dont really need to do that unless you are anal about getting every drop out
if you replace your fluid every year youll be just fine
I don’t really mind if my handbrake is electronic or mechanical. I only use it when parking on a hill.
Electronic handbrake will add more fuses into ur fuse box lol
saying goodbye to the saab is tempting :^(
28mpg and we are heading for £1.50/l since its a GM car theres plenty of engines which could be used to make it viable with modern fuel prices but id need to discuss with an insurance company first.
Id hate for a relatively clean shell to be scrapped but tis the reality
itd be a shame if I stuck a super long trailer on my car and ran out of fuel right at the junction to my insurance companies office after they dont allow me to swap to a more efficient engine.
¯_(ツ)_/¯

Huh. So if you passed the test between 1997 and 2021 you get BE thrown in for free?
28mpg isn't enough?
I thought my 16 was alright
I'm happy as long as I get below 8 L/100km
i have around 7.1/100km .. when driving nice its around 9/100km 😄
28 highway for my s10 and I added a sensor to make it 32mph on highway. I made it use low rpms when I travel.
M-Town?
man im excited for next summer so my dad can get our cossie up and running
my 28 mpg is 23 us mpg or 10 litres/100km and thats from cruising at 60mph. Its enough but I could easily have so much better and save over £1000 on fuel.
anyone have a screen protector they can recommend for model y?
or is this wrong channel?
top ten start for these two? what year is it?
Where is VER?
now p1 started p3... biggest suprise during the SC is Mazepin P11
cant wait for the snow this year https://youtu.be/aYOfPKd7e4c
A very unlucky Tesla Model 3 slides down a hill in Glasgow, Scotland during last nights snow fall.
bUt I hAvE fOuR wHeEl DrIvE
If I buy winter tyres we wont get a drop of snow this year
Going warp drive in my friends 2019 ford escape
bro just full throttle it, i've played Dirt Rally ik what to do
Bro we have the same thing happening every year but with buses
Motorways generally get fucked each year by truck companies who wont fit winter tyres, and theres alot of them.
Anyone here seen a Rivian R1T in person before???
1988 Dodge Aries K LE Wagon
Welp. How's this for life? I'm forced to sell my Mustang convertible, and pretty upset about it.
For those curious, here she is.
Fair, 190k miles
Priced to move quickly!
This is Déjá, my very first sports car. I'm actually pretty bummed about this, but I've no choice but to sell her. Between COVID-19, the subsequent shutdowns, and career complications that have arisen because of it, that event caused severe financial problems for me to the point that I can't even afford ...
Man, this sucks.
I really, really hate being broke.
I'm just glad my daily is an '04 manual.
did the ford Escape the reality?
Haha
Gasly was off the radar the entire race... just like in zandvoort
I have one of those, not a 10th anniversary tho
It’s so fun to drive
Good good 🙂
True, but he's carrying Alpha Tauri single handedly to fifth in the constructors.
I mean, Tsunoda only has 4 points more than Russel.
Meanwhile
He had a lap in p12... his new record lol
A few in p11 actually under the safety car
And don't forget the fastest lap in Spa Francorchamps
yes of course... he is the best driver this year
I see a bright future for him at Haas Uralkali Racing
He should've gotten the second Alfa seat. He could learn from Bottas and a less toxic environment
2x Mercedes-Benz Class C city police cars
I saw an normal Police Audi A6 with sirens today, near Delft.
up to £1.50/l for deesel at ze gulf. wonder when petrol will hit £1.50 in town.
It's a B-Class?
you can get diesel for free from a truck driver like me
300 free liters in a normal full tank.
400
they got that much from the reserve tank from me
you cant beat kubica in an equal car
let alone in a superior car
How much do you drive a week? And do you only drive in Sweden?
Yeah. I only drive around the Stockholm area. I work 40-ish hours a week. But a lot of that time I'm just "available" for when they need material moved from one place to another.
So about 1000 km a week?
I drive only in other peoples car at this moment (I dont have a car by myself). Since i did get my license (24 Sep) i drove like 1700 km. About +- 500 km in The Netherlands, +- 500 km in Germany, +-200km in Denmark and +-500km in Sweden
It all depends on the day. The lowest I have driven in a day was about 45 km's. Which was more or less to the place of work, parked. And then drove back again.
The long trip (Germany, Sweden and Denmark) was about 3 weeks ago on my seasonal trip to Sweden i did drove like half the trip in my fathers VW T4. The rest of my mileage so far i did it with car sharing (Greenwheels, Mywheels, BlaBlaCar) short trips in the city of Zutphen and Doesburg, The Netherlands
How do i recognise Sweden in terms of roads? ||The pavement in Sweden is so loud as hell.||
German tarmac can also be loud AF
Asphalt or concrete slabs?
Sweden uses pretty much only asphalt for its freeways.
Only E4 thru Uppsala and E20 between Eskilstuna and Södertälje have concrete slabs if I mind correctly
my experience with concrete is that they have way less traction.
But my only experience is on a shoddily constructed private road
Concrete is way, way harder than asphalt. So it survives longer. As long as it doesn't crack from the winters.
And for traction, that all depends on how you surface the concrete.
pretty rough on the private road
Concrete is also more expensive.
Asphalt gets reused.
Doesn't help that they want to close down the place here in Sweden that provides us with the majority of the product used in concrete.
German highways are originally built on concrete slabs, but it will mostly be replaced by asphalt.
Sweden did have some concrete highways, because the Germans build a few stretches there.
The Netherlands have no more concrete roads more on motorways, we use now porous asphalt. the last concrete road one was between Hengelo and German border but it is replaced by ZOAB in 2012.
can see the surface pretty well in this pic, it looks rougher in person I think
in the wet it does not feel nice
The Dutch use still concrete at roundabouts and cycle paths
We used to have a Citroën XM estate.
that BX went to car heaven sadly
All cars go to heaven.
that entire painted area on the back was chicken wire on a piece of wood covered with plaster or some sort of filler and painted
also moderately screwed fancy french suspension
Surprisingly enough, the suspension didn't fail on us.
this one was pretty neglected
At one point we had a busted battery. Had a hole in it.
It had a turbo XUD so that was yoinked
I wouldnt mind a BX but the suspension is a bit of a put off
Both
you can buy the peugeot off me
Can't be a diesel tho
there is just one cng station in my city and many people are getting cng cars so refuling can take a whole day
1988 Dodge Ramcharger LE
Well i have hopefully found a place that builds motors
An my justy getting a new one
That an S10 ? @stray kernel o:
And with a way better car he could learn what real f1 pace is like... i mean he has a teacher already but he is driving for another team
honking at a honda jazz then wheelspinning away towards some police officers
nothing to see here
Hopefully Haas can make a better car next year, but my expectations are not high.
