i got to put on my f||u||ckin double seeing glasses cuz i cant even begin to see the ammount of BULLS||H||IT COME FROM U
model s is slow
heavy and slow
Roadster is vaporware till released... whenever.
Model S generic is... fast. Sure. Not as fast as F1.
Being fast on Pike's Peak is fun, but it's about as useless a flex as bonneville. Great PR, and a nice feather in cap.
I feel like tesla is the same with supra fanboys lmao
maturing is relizing car could have any engine and year and anything but if its good to u, then thats all that matters
Tesla fanboys are honestly funny
They are
but this cat just said the Model S -- literally the fastest production vehicle on the planet -- is slow
Like, he's not wrong that it's heavy. And on a lot of tracks a really fast Porsche/McClaren/Ferrari or whatever is going to beat the model S plaid because of that.
I've seen the Model 3 Performance beat some cars round a race track purely because it goes so hard out of corners, the other cars are obviously flatter and better round a corner, but the sheer straight line speed
So the Plaid is going to set records at some tracks despite its weight for sure
i find funny everyone who believes in tesla
i refuse to accept the revolution
cars should be fun, confortable machines which make you travel from a to b
not this overcomplicated shit which is almost impossible to resell due to update blocks
Well believing in tesla is kinda off the table..
They had a rought start but they found their spot
Even if its the apple of car manufacturers
yes
i hate apple btw
i like asus but their support is pretty bad and the phones are out of the map in prices
you dont have a haynes book of lies for your car?
a haynes manual?
book of lies yes
As an Asus user, for my laptop and I just got rid of my ROG Phone 2,
You are right, their support is AWFUL
Phone prices aren't terrible, just gotta know where to look.
in brazil they are terrible
like s21 level of expensive
and they're rare to find
the only time where the prices where cheap was when i bought my zenfone 5z
it was on carrefour on sale for 1600 reais
My issue is that They release and International and US variant, and the US variants are RARE. 😅 I don't want the Tenncent version :(
So I activated a One Plus 8T I got yesterday
tencent version?
They have the Tencent verision, a non-tencent international version and a hard to find NA version
U make a fair point and yeah there's alot of weight on the bottom making cornering easier but what if a car just moved its wait to the bottom instead of making more if possible
But it's just a heavy car and if it was lighter it's current power would push prolly alot more
But still engines are gonna be favored forever unless the gen z fuck that up too
There's barely any gen z like me that want electric cars to fuck off
Millennials love electric cars—and countries are committing to only sell new electric cars from like 2035
Chances are it gets pushed back, but odds are electric cars will almost completely replace ICE vehicles in the next 40 years
I wonder if these people are just so zoned out, driving on autopilot they are just copying the vehicle infront of them
I do that a lot
I don't hate electric vehicles cause I do see a fairly good future of modding them once aftermarket support gets on board
It will be mostly ricer stuff though which isn't that great but it is what it is
I just want one with relatively standard components. Standard motor controller etc rather than a billion confusers talking to eachother.
Maybe conversion kits will take off, especially if battery technology improves.
It'll take a while before we get proper standardiastion etc
Hopefully the cost of conversion can get decreased to a reasonably affordable amount
That shit look fake as hell
That's ain't a vehicle. And I ain't against the design
And I'm 19.
Shit looks like something straight outta gta lmao
Need for Speed maybe
Power to whoever has the energy to do that
Does anyone know what car this is?
a toyota (/j)
I think this spec sheet applies to the firetruck
The Dodge Neon SRT-4 the official car of flushing the toilet while still sitting on it.
I'm mad
I'm looking for small cars and they are expensive
and a frucking Trabant 601 is worth more then my car
ofcourse, trabants are gems
where tow rope

looks brand new
can anyone help me how I can remove stuck spark plugs from aluminium head?
I ordered rear brake pads this seems slightly extreme for that
15kg and a massive box
all the time you have to leave a space
the fabia was peaking out for overtakes too like it would have the power to safely make one on this bendy road
Found a use for the door pockets
Or condo- ah nvm
2001 Jeep grand cherokee Laredo with the 4.0L I6
I fuckin love this car
i love this style jeep
the engine is a give or take
as this one has 120k miles on it
it was rebuilt at 130
it has 250k on the odometer
i rebuilt the engine myself
this engine has a problem with the oil filter that it too constrictive so the push rod doesnt get enough oil and it causes it to shoot a hole in the side of the block
so any time i see of these jeeps used
i always ask what type of filter is on it
if its oem walk the fuck away
pretty sure one of my friends has like 3 4L I6 cherokees, all of them have at least one new piston and one of them only has one original piston left
may not be 4L, but they are definitely I6s and cherokees. Whatever engine those have, they are apparently notorious for the pistons cracking
Well idk but this is a common issue
I mean great engine for how long it can last but always
Always put a high flow filter
When it blows up, I see an LS swap opportunity.
looks at the budget
Oh yeah, not happening.
Imagine a 6.0l with a T56 6 speed and a super low range transfer case.
Best jeep ever.
looks at budget what budget
I have a pack of gum and 4 bucks and that's saved for the 10mm socket replacement
Oh shit, both aren't happening.
It costed me 2 grand and 6 months for the rebuilt engine
I procrastinated building it
I already drove eastman mad with LS swapping. I suppose I should lay off for the night.
But the one thing I will never like about new cars is
That jeep engine bay has so much open space
New cars are so jam packed
Engine bay space FTW
Ever seen the engine bay of a K1500?
They have a damn storage compartment under the hood.
Nope got a pic
They literally have a storage compartment to the bottom right.
I'll show u a pic of my jeep engine bay when I can
I opened one up and found a quart of power steering fluid and a bunch of wrenches.
These trucks have the easiest ECU replacement ever. Its right under the hood to the right, and you pull on one lever and the whole thing pops out.
Now my 2017 ford escape
Were the spare tire is
There's two computer modules
One is for the tailgate idk what the other one if for I assume the ecu
But I've never seen a new car were a computer module is so easy to look at and take out
Is the Escape a 1.5l?
thx
No its the 2.0 turbo ecoboost
With the 6 speed automatic with the standard shift (clutchless Manuel)
more like:
Where's my 10mm socket!!!?
Mhm
I wonder would a stock jeep 4.0 support a turbo
Yes, but how long and reliably, that's a question for people who know the motors inside and out
Yeah like I said a rebuilt one but idk if it can handle a turb
There's just alot of space under the hood it would loom good
You can turbo anything. Whether or not it's a good idea depends on the motor's design, the supporting mods and setup, and your goals/expectations
Turbo EJs are reliable, but only if you curb your expectations and don't push things too far
The same can be said about a lot of things.
I have a 01
still looks better than my car
^
I mean 4wd with this thing
It doesn't get that bad of gas mileage
And it feels amazing and the interior smells so fucking goos
Good
Weird flex but ok
The car has had uh yk 3 woman in it before my mom took the car
Took it from a husband if hers after he cheated and tried taking the kid
Weird flex but ok
How is that a flex
I mean, what else the point in touting that your 20 year old car smells good because it had women previous owners
I'm meaning the car has been through some shit
And still smells factory
Good interior design
good interior design
Chrysler
I don't think those belong in the same place
Imo Jeep name turned to shit after Willy's died
probably a bad idea to add those filter lights without 2 seperate lanes
just gonna make people frustrated and do this
road design go brrrr
Yeah that makes 0 sense
There's a solid white line at the end of it so technically he could have been ticketed
uk wise that'd kinda be legal, since its a stationary vehicle blocking his side of the road
Uk?
united kingdum
although that seems to be in poland
Id imagine you can pass a vehicle on solid lines in the US if its stationary too
usually slow moving vehicles too
No
If its solid white or yellow u cannot no matter what
If its a dashe line liek spaces between each mark white line
so if a agricultural vehicle is trundling along you cannot pass it
mmmm lane dicipline
normally id have been up the inside but too unpredictable
jzx90?
16 mpg is not great.
For a 4wd car I'll take it
A/C compressor unbolted
bracket was removed from the engine to clear the compressor without having to unhook a/c lines
more electrical connectors removed and taped off
tomorrow we disconnect the last few electrical connectors, remove the starter, undo the exhaust, unbolt the bellhousing, and remove the throttle cables
and then we can slap the cherry picker on it and yoink that leaky mf out
niCe tUrBo
While you already have the engine out...
Might as well slap a 6.0l/T56 combo in there :D
#ParkingIsHard
Best purpose for a Caddy
"Bloody council not cutting the trees back"
Also a video 👀
Whut?
Is it a Caddy or Transporter?
Crusty.
A entire piece of the pad is missing
Definitely a Caddy
Weirdly shaped Golf
No super charger
When you get a good super charger you get that nutty whine
Some other pics
I have the intake off rn as I was trying to replace a headlight bulb
It's a mess it's been sitting for a yead
Year
Yeah I painted the valve cover when I rebuilt it
But It didn't last as I didn't use high temp
I also did the timing cover
And the exhaust manifold
Not okay
Till you snap it.
Penetrating oil or WD-40 or something. Just a bit.
Then a trick from what I remember is to tighten it a bit, then loosen.
Anyone know what car this is I think it’s a camaro
nah man, im not sure
I recognize that center console. Totally a Camaro.
isn't that just Water Displacement?
Guys i have plan to buy lotus elise targa is that a good car?
Lots of trouble usually serious
I don't rewlly know to be honest how good this car is
I still can't remove sparkplugs
using penetrating fluid and even trying to unscrew them when engine is hot, they won't move at all
longer bar
I'm too scared I'll break the head
Reversing the i30 with the weedwhacker engine out of the drive with no handbrake is fun
Not an SUV…
Having to use a blowtorch to remove the handbrake mechanism on a i30 every 6 years. Very good hyundai.
The mechanism on them is just garbage anywhere where this wild thing known as corrosion exists.
that year is at a model change I think so not sure if the same as ours
ours is 2007-2012
ours is a i30 ES. Especially shit.
maybe because someone decided to undercoat my car
all trough in someplaces it did more harm than good
still need to replace the passager side sill because it has sunklen in to the floor when jacked
Yeah if its not done well all it serves as is film over all hell breaking loose underneath
hmm
I can buy the same exact focus in hatchback for 490 euros
but it doesn't have that automatic climate control and AC
If insurance was less aids id have tonnes of shitty cars cause I could park them on the road somewhere
Wish I could have insurance in my name and not for specific car
and it needs to be insured, because if not you automatically get fined
theres a guy around here which owns like 10 shitboxes parked on the street lowing the house prices of his street.
same here with insurance
have to declare it SORN if not keepin it road legal
I just want an extra car to have when my car is in repairs
here you need to have it even if it's just chassis with nothing in it
you can't declare anything unless you can't afford
hm? you cant declare a vehicle off the road
nope
been looking in to that
my neighbour has a multipla that broke down and he got a fine for no insurance like a month ago
So what even farm vehicles that never leave the ground need to have insurance on them. You cant just tell the government its offroad only?
it has been sitting on parking all this year
If its parked in a public place then yeah understandable.
public access though?
same here unless you declare it off the road
even farm vehicles need to have insurance
What happens when a car goes to die then
you have to pay insurance
you are telling me scrapyards are paying insurance on cars in there yard
o no
scrapyards and used cal dealers don't need insurance
I got confused
you need to declare car got scrapped
im sure thered be a way for people on private land to have a shitty car with no insurance
lots of farms here have beater cars like that
weird. I just pay for tax on the saab and its marked back on the road.
can just as easily take it off the road and get my tax refunded for the duration remaining
thats the jeep gladiator basically a jeep wrangler with a truck bed
Saab is hot
it is, no AC and a whopping 21C which is way too hot.
pls return to 90% cloud cover completely obstructing the sun
oh
i like that
saab is cool
this is the coolest truck i've seen
and the doors are the same as the wrangler
thats why they have the indent even knowing there isnt the wheel well there
and it comes in a 3.6L v6 with a manual or auto
and a 3.0L diesel v6 auto
here in brazil I only see hiluxes, chevy s10s(a simplified version of the colorado) and ford rangers
the diesel makes 260 hp @ 3,600 rpm
omg
and the v6 makes 285 hp @ 6,400 rpm
both engines make a 4,500K towing capacity
but i bet some suspension mod in the back and some frame reinforcement
u could tow more
and maybe if some redneck could mock up a gooseneck with some other mods
5 foot is equal to how many meters?
cool
that's very big
in brazil we don't have full sized trucks
we go with the compact trucks like the colorado and the ranger
And a 2.0T hybrid, and now a plug in hybrid.
30 miles of range apparently.
That hasn't been released just yet
But fr no
Hybrid? In a truck
A offroad truck
Nah
we had the f250 for almost 15 years but it never sold well
ram 2500 is the only full sized truck sold here, and it became a symbol of tasteless luxury in Brazil
It has a straight six 6.7l Cummins diesel
ppl only buy the 2500 if A:they have a truck driving license and B:they had a tremendous amount of money to buy
plus they disrespect the traffic laws all the time
when i mean traffic laws,it's because in brazil we have a law that forbids trucks from being parked in downtown from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM
and 2500 owners ignore this shit and just straight park everywhere
Well the truck weighs from 5 to 7k pounds
Yup. Definitely a truck
It can be optioned up to 7200lb towing. Mine is 6800
that looks fucking badass ngl
Thanks! She’s almost complete haha. It has a 2.5” lift, 37” tires, running a 5.13 gear ratio in the axles.
Low emissions zone in edinburgh proposed ofuk
Doesn't LEZ's mostly effect diesel powered cars?
and here we went to make electric cars only
meanwhile electric cars are too expensive for 80% of people and most most of them drive Diesel cars
why not just straight ban all traffic in the city and make everyone walk 60 km to work and back home
I always hated diesels in passager cars
it should be left more to utility/off road vehicles
If you do the miles and its not a little underpowered engine i dont mind it
well
all cars I have driven had underpowered little diesel engines
they always made me motion sick
but now that I have driven trucks that had inline 6 in them
it wasn't so bad
I just find it funny that my uncle bought like a mercedes suv with a diesel engine and they are doing like 4000 km yearly meanwhile me with my crapbox I'm doing 20k per year
my friend drove a 180hp diesel Audi A6 recently - said it felt faster than a petrol equivalent because you so rarely get into the peak torque band of a petrol engine
Meanwhile me
Depends, modern turbocharged gas engines have basically diesel-like torque curves and characteristics
eh, who knows. I haven't driven a diesel car since 2007, and only a diesel vehicle about three times (two luton vans and a sprinter)
I got cheapo struts installed
The handling is night and day difference
It's much firmer
not sure if anyone wanted to know
but i got a honda accord from 2012
it has v-tec
2.4 litre
inline 4
mhm
ik i can feel ur jealousy
ur envy
Mostly diesels feel faster due to the torque curve, which is basically flat over a very wide rev-range, which makes it feel like it can pull forever
But nowadays with turbochargers on petrol cars you get the same characteristics
However, then you get the "but diesels still have more torque than a petrol car" discussion... true, but to compensate for the lower amount of RPM you have to use longer gears
Vegetable oil engines 👀
Vegetable oil doesn't seem that bad as a lubricant
but it lacks detergents and other stuff
and will degrade rather quickly
Actually works for some diesel engines as fuel but idk shit about that
vegetable oil is good but sythetic is way better
btw i hate you aisin 5040
why do you need to change oil every 30k km?
Because they want your car to be destroyed out of warranty
or IDK\
aw5040 is the most cursed gearshift i've seen outside of psa's al4
oh
Yeah. I convinced this friend to buy a 2015 Skoda Octavia instead of the 2010 Audi A6 estate
Looking at it I was wrong, it was a 2.7L V6 diesel, so it probably had more juice than I said
the 150HP Skoda was easily quick enough for them (0-60 in under 8 seconds) - and when I pointed out that it's £30/year to tax and does 55mpg they went for it
Now im interested in how much less space you get by getting an Octavia instead of an A6
The boot on the Octavia is technically bigger, even in the hatch I think
590L boot on an Octavia hatch, 540 on an A6 wagon
Now of course, that's to the load cover (I think), not the roof, and the A6 is considerably wider and the boot will be more cubic
so in practical terms there will be times when the A6 has the more versatile space
but given this guy doesn't have, or indeed, want any kids, or ever expect to be carrying three people in the back, the lack of width is unlikely to ever bother him. He's just got a newer lower milage car that's easier to park
Its kinda amazing that you don't get that much more space for going from a golf variant/octavia/leon to a passat or superb
Most added space is in the second row
what year
You don’t say, BMW’s been sending notifications on the My BMW App to my dad for not going to a dealer to change his charging cable from a recall, but when he calls the dealer they said they have no stock :/
this is why i like the marea
Marea?
Fiat Marea
A very good sedan that was sold in brazil but gained a bad reputation here due to bad owners
Apart from the fivetech engines which were too far ahead of its time the car is very good
It's a straight 4 with 5 vavles per cilinder
160 hp with the 2.4 20v which is the most powerful fivetech engine outside of the 2.0 20v Turbo which had around 182 hp
@noot#2909 neglected 2002

Greetings to all! I'm sorry for the crooked translation, I translated it through google translate.
I am from Russia, and I would like to know what are the popular niche, middle and upper class cars in America?
for upper class, and middle class Tesla's are really popular
actually Tesla's are quite popular in general
I have a tesla
the only tesla I can afford
Except that they aren't. Especially not in the midwest. What really sells right now are trucks and crossovers.
Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Chevy Suburban, Toyota RAV4 is pretty damn popular.
in San Diego, 60% of the cars on the road are teslas
where I live
Speaking of Tesla. All of them got recalled in China.
Not often automakers recall every single one sold in a market.
lol
China's State Administration for Market Regulation said that in certain models the cruise control can be mistakenly switched on when drivers attempt to change gears or if they brush the gear selector by accident, which has the potential of causing the vehicle to accelerate unexpectedly.
That's an oof to say in the least.
Beast
I know it makes it sort of redundant, but if I was gonna get a diesel I'd definitely get a V6
well it is a biturbo V6
is it the 40TDI? or the 45?
those came in 2018 iirc, in 2016 it was just the 3.0tdi biturbo
it still came in HP variants though
this was 272hp stock, ecu tuned to 332
Gotcha, that would be a 50TDI now, that's the really fun one :p
yeah it really can launch surprisingly well
stock was 5.6s, I'd say currently it's under 5
Yeah it's not surprising, you've tuned it to be a 60TDI (not sure if they actually make those)
I could have easily gotten 400hp with just the ecu tune but that would have affected the reliability so decided to stick to 332
best part is that I got the tune completely free because the shop "owed" me 500€ for a few parts I had laying around in my garage that they needed
which i had given them for free
on a highway going 120kph and on economy mode I get around 55
actually 50 might be more accurate
going around town it's quite thirsty lul
especially because I like to floor it
how many miles do you do a year?
dont know yet, had this for like 5 months as of now
but so far I've driven like 30k km
30k km in five months? holy crap
yeah.... I like to drive
didn't even know it had auto unlock until i recorded that lol
Dope
actually not all of that is from me, maybe like 1k is from my dad
yes a6 diesel would be my go to car to dump miles into
Yeah if you're going to do a lot of miles it's ideal. Quiet, efficient, practical
I'm likely upgrading this to an etron gt in the future tho btw
I rarely need the cargo space
and when I do we have a huge ass trailer
literally bigger than my car
I have to say though, as the world's biggest electric car fangirl
with the kind of miles you're doing, I don't think an electric car is the right call for you
in my town its worth it, charging points everywhere and I dont drive long distances often, just going around town with friends etc
Ok, I have no idea how you could possibly have driven 18000miles in 5 months and not done long distances
longest drive I do "often" is to Helsinki which is only 100km away
My saab has an avg yearly mileage of 4000 miles, :^|
So how are you driving 120miles a day?
I can easily go 200km a day here honestly
Mate, according to your numbers you average 200km a day
there are a ton of small fun roads around my city where there are 0 cars where we can just pretty much race
and you do that all day every day? for five months?
and yeah its pretty accurate
nah but the days I do it can go upwards to like 400km
and then ofc going to work and back is 30km x2
which is often 50km there and back because I usually take the smaller curvier roads, just more fun to drive
trust me, I drive a lot lol
Only you know your habits. But most electric cars are recommended to be kept, generally, at 80%
and an etron won't do 400km on one charge
doesnt need to, just that on a good day thats the entire days driving
and you're basically averaging doing 80-20% every day, which is going to absolutely annhilate a battery
and I could just charge it from like 20-80% in 15 mins
Yep, at a fast charger you can
You do you, but that's a £100k car that I really don't think is ready for 65000km a year
iirc the chargers at my local store are 200kW
Yeah, but supercharging batteries is bad for them if you do it too often
hmm
with an electric car you really want to be keeping it at 80-90% and mostly charging it on a level 2 charger at home
I honestly want an electric purely because of how much I spend on diesel lol
using superchargers mostly for road trips every once in a while
I mean you'll also be spending a fortune on your electricity bill, but it will be less than diesel
but you'll probably lose €50k in value on your car in four years, which is probably more expensive than the diesel you'd buy
sounds like the optimal option is that I keep the A6 and buy a second car
Of course, no one knows how etron GTs are going to depreciate-we know Teslas don't depreciate fast, but other electric cars do, but GTs are desirable, so who knows. But a four year old one with 250k km on the clock is definitely not going to be the most desirable thing ever
Not sure - unless you buy a daily driver that's way more efficient than the A6 for your commute/boring driving
it sucks balls that I cant afford an rs7 or rs6 here, they are stupid expensive. in germany or usa you can get them for around 100k, here a new rs6 is over 250k
and again, if you spend money on a car to save you money on fuel, that's pretty hard to do
because you have to buy, insure, tax and put fuel into the car
to save you the difference in diesel
here's the only new rs6 for sale here atm
to be honest, my best guess is to keep the car you've got. Can't imagine there are cars that do a better job of being fuel efficient, fast, fun and practical than your A6
I mean, I quess
Like if you want to get a 2 seater sports car to race in, or a Skoda Octavia to commute in, then you obviously can
but if your goal is to end up with the most amount of money left over, say in four years, then keeping the one car is probably the optimal solution
not necessarily the most, if that was the case I would sell this and buy a 2002 clio or some shit lmao
Yeah for sure
Nice pothole on the right
Whe he you have a shitbox
You drive a lot
But when you have a very nice expensive car
You baerly drive
At least from what o have experienced
hah yeah it's been filled
they put cones around it so those two parking spaces can't be used
depends how expensive
what is a shitbox
I get 8l/100km in the city lol
noobs mine can eat 1l/1km
auverland jeep
My shitbox gets 30mpg UK (9.42 L/100km)
imagine being able to support the rear of your car on the sills
It’s on 1 jack stand to give me more room to work
Although I could put it on 4. Not needed though
I know, our civic is very rusted out in that area
Yeah, this is a 1990 Toyota Corolla
2002 civic, its probably heading to the scrapyard
it failed its MOT so wont be able to drive it after the 9th unless we get it repaired
yeah its a shitbox, even if it had a year of MOT youd have a hard time selling it even for £150
Jeez that’s a bummer
all bushings gone, all brakes binding, one new shock absorber rest old.
rusted brake lines, abs fault
Yeah seems like a little too much work for that car
probably would fix it if it didnt need welding
but the reality of shitty little patch welds over holes is you are going to be doing it every year
Mhm, especially if you live in a wet climate
sloped driveways are such aids :^(
Sad
in this episode we head up to guatamala mexico boznia to test out the cummins drift truck on the togue. on the way there we huck a big offramp for the clout.

Rs etron GT or taycan turbo ??
Lol, Doug the type of guy to think that 'Door sill' is short for 'door cylinder' 😂

He said door cylinder in one of his videos

I'd go taycan
guess I need go to shop to change sparkplugs
I can't get them out even with an impact driver
lol
Vrrrrom
This is the car we use to chase tornadoes (and my buddy driving it)
Bruh someone had done put jb weld on them threads then like a 7 foot breaker bar, most spark plugs torque to a max of like 50 pound
Witch motoclye should I get next eh
I was thinking of a r6 or 636 or gsxr 750
Just sold one and crashed the other
Anyone have tips on how/where to find cheap used go-karts
Lotus?
Diablo
And the people who were fixing my suspension over torqued the nuts
Thats standard procedure
Apparently they told me I might need the head to be taken off
And someone got their Tyre punctured modern car
On the side wall
Try a fz07 or 09 yet ?
Yeah not what I'm looking for

I have a car whose Maryland state registration expires in 07/2021 (so July 31) and will be moving to Indiana in that same time frame, plan to leave Maryland on July 31 and reach Indiana in about 2 days. What am I supposed to do about the car's registration? It wouldn't make sense to register it in Maryland for another year, and I am not able to visit Indiana beforehand to have it registered there. What's the best thing to do?
@edgy crescent
hmmm that doesn't help
yeah, was about to say
The Indiana temp rego is perfect, but it is for people LEAVING india, not going to
?
I'm going to Indiana, not leaving there
yes, that's my point
looks like maryland DoT are a bunch of useless assholes
NM
Description of application
LOL
You're not wrong
There you go, 15 day temp rego
.... and I'm in australia.
I just used google and clicking around.
Hmmmmmmm
How did I not find that
lol
I was only aware of the 30 day first time you register a car temp plate
Thank you so much @edgy crescent
it's because it's in the store - not on the page
it does look like an esprit but yeah its a diablo
Dont know if I should be asking this here but should car oil smell kinda like gasoline
And when the engines on you can smell that smell
If it's a strong smell then I'd say it's not normal
I find when I start my diesel on cold mornings it has a very strong smell
Man i wished they'd give the model 3 the model s headlights
I never liked the model S headlights tbh
Or the front end in general for that matter
huh, I always thought the Model S was the best looking electric car
did the best job of any car that doesn't have a grille, not looking like it needs one
Honestly the model s is still the best looking car since they removed that pseudo grill
If you ignore the golf i guess...
Electric cars always end up looking weird from the other brands
The ones i like: The taycan looks like a redesigned porsche, audi etron looks like another suv, and teslas also look like a normal car
The ones i dont: Audi etron gt then again kinda weird in the front, both vws look weird because idk i guess they need to look eleiand futuristic
How would one go about putting the tow mirrors up on a 2017 ram 2500
Gasoline can mix with oil if your piston rings are no longer sealing with the bores and the gasoline is un-burnt. Typically do to metal expansion on a cold engine the rings are not completely sealing the combustion camber from the crankcase. I would start with checking spark plugs to see if any cylinder may not burning the mixture. Look for broken tips or plugs that are unusually black compared to the others. You can do a compression test too and see how the different cylinders compare if they are not close to the same you may have a problem. You probably want to do an oil change. I believe gasoline and oil will not mix however they do not have the same lubricating properties. Your oil level gauge / (Dip stick) if a little high may show a need to do an oil change soon too.
The Model S looks like an algorithm designed a car. It was kind of cool functional when it came out, but it's just meh now.
idk every automaker seems to be able to get it right in the concept phase. Trouble is a lot of traditional automakers would base electric concepts on existing platforms to save cost, so you'd always wind up with the grill being an issue.
etron GT has a great stance, but even it has the grill issue to some extent. Looks WAY better in some different color-ways though.
I just find Teslas to look boring
Stylistically they're very much an 00 design in a 20s era.
Oi i wrote car instead of electric car 👀
Its far from being the best looking car xD
Teslas look like a basic template for a saloon car
maybe cars don't need to change for the sake of changing but it seems like the Model S has been left to languish
Design-wise
Getting away from electrics I think the only properly pretty modern saloon is the Guilia, but even that's getting a bit long in the tooth. Such a fucking joy to drive though, makes it easier to forgive the fact that it's a basket case of reliability problems.
Comes in manual in the EU as well
I like my Corolla HB's styling. Can't say I'm a fan of Alfa Romeo
I used to have a lightning mcqueen bed
...are these thoughts connected somehow?
Yes. I prefer Toyota's design language to Alfa Romeo's.
And do you think a single human being on the face of the earth has ever asked themself "hmm, will I take the four door rear wheel drive italian sports sedan, or the front wheel drive japanese econobox?"
I'm not sure how the point is connected to styling
It's just a weird point to make
And even if the Alfa was only 23k, I'd still not like the styling
Why is the rotor surface peeling off like this, I didnt realise they had 2 seperate materials
I mean, the Corolla HB is probably the best looking Toyota in 20 years unless you're fond or their trucks, but it's an appliance. The alfa, for better or worse, is more like a toy, or if you wanna be real pretentious it's an art piece.
I've driven it, it's a lot better than the old one was.
pre-HB
that thing was dogshit
but it's still not up to par with mazda or honda dynamically IMO
how new? the one they were selling in 2018 was definitely better. I mean in some ways a worse car for sure, but it drove better.
2019 and up
Can't speak to that one
The new generation feels very blah
And Honda didn't impress either. Dated interior and less than brilliant engine and clutch.
I've been pretty disenfranchised with Toyotas since like 2005
With the exception of the Toyobaru twins and the Tacoma.
love both of those
So the Civic you're comparing came out in 2015 the corolla was 2018 or 19, the new Civic that's out now has a better interior.
I mean they're both good, old civic and corolla HB.
But god, everything Toyota used to make had a little magic. Like I had a Matrix XRS at one point, should have been such a boring shit car, that 2zz engine and the manual throttle body.
I hate the engine in the current Toyota it sucks driving stick without manual throttle body man. The revs just HANG and don't drop it's not just Toyota either it's like all modern manuals.
Fuel savings
I haven't had issues with throttle hang
idk what qualifies as an "issue" but it's measurably worse than their early aughts manuals, and that goes for every modern automaker pretty much
even the Miata isn't great in that regard
God I miss the 2ZZ
Honestly? Better than the 90s Contour I drove.
I'm not gonna deny your experience it definitely gets the job done.
Just, nobody is gonna go back and swap it into an MR2 you know?
2zzGZe was a dif beast
Sure
But as far as tech goes, the Dynamic Force line is about as advanced as it gets
Throttle hang is pretty nasty in our cars
makes it pretty hard to drive smoothly but thats more of a compound issue with motor mounts
mazda 2 needs a new dog bone
Its why I love the saab, nice cable without too much confusers getting in the way.
With the amount of money Toyota has I'd like to see another MR2, but honestly none of their engine tech excites me enough. Unless they took that Subaru motor from the BRZ. An electric version is more likely, but then, is rear engine (motor) even something you can call unique for an electric car?
If I can't reach into the engine and pull a little cable and make it rev, it makes me sad
reach into the engine BAY i mean lol
don't count on a new mazda 2 in north america
the CX-3 was the answer to thet
Im in the unooted kingdom
ah well maybe you'll be blessed
I have a 2010 one so theres newer versions
not like there's any shortage of decent subcompacts on the continent
Im giving it to my mum because her car has been taken by the rust
My saab is almost finished so thatll be mine.
Honda Civic 19 years old rear all rusted out.
RIP saab
saab is 26 years old and is brand new compared to the civic
Brought up from 450 miles down south a year ago
person that did that used it until the MOT ran out. went through hell trying to sell it for a month or two then I came along.
(by finished I meant on the road again)
gotta love british road-worthiness laws
I mean it is a heap of shit and dangerous
They can be inconvenient but in the grand scheme of things its good cars as fucked as the civic are being forced with a ultimatum such as repair or scrap.
this was the fail but doesent nearly represent all the issues with the car
cool
but this is a lot better:https://s.aolcdn.com/commerce/autodata/images/USC70SUC043D021001.jpg

opinions on the new M3 grill and why the Alfa works while the Bimmer doesn't.
Apparently the new M3 is amazing dynamically, but idk, I can't abide by these modern BMWs. I was driving their press cars in the worst era and I just grew to hate them.
Like I got into that shit at the end of the V8 M3, so I got to experience the Lime Rock Park version of that, then the 2012-onward turbo cars. F18? was that the model designation, I know it no longer started with an E. I've hated every 3 series I've driven since the 2011 3 series came out.
m3 grill ugly
Honestly they're both trying to carry over a styling element that hasn't worked in the last 15 years.
Unfortunately both have built an identity around said styling elements.
We review the upcoming 2022 VW GTI MK8 and compare it to the Mk7.5. We cover all of the technical and engineering changes and how that affects the driving experience. Then we discuss the good and bad of the tech included. This hatch competes with cars like the Honda Civic, Hyundai Veloster N, and Mazda3 Turbo. Would you jump to the Civic Ty...
All hail two steps forward, three steps back.
Going from a benchmark of ergonomics and ease of use to... touch screens.
Weird they didn't discuss all the cost cuttings they made for the new model
Overall it's definitely more build to a budget, the new Mk8
Yeah maybe the US spec Mk7's already had some of those cost cuttings
I do not like they way they integrated the infotainment and IP cluster.
USDM GTIs are Mexico built I believe.
I mean... the entire car looks like a European Corolla HB.
Massive front grill that goes the full width. Token top grill. C-shaped taillights. Pinched waistline.
And yeah the new infotainment is horrible, it's a lot of new VAG product (Seat Leon, Skoda Octavia, VW Caddy, VW ID.3, VW ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, Golf, Cupra Formentor) and it's horrible in all of them
I wouldn't mind it as much, but the HVAC being all touch is a no no to me.
What if you want to change out the infotainment?
Also USDM GTI doesn't get dual injection.
Yeah I heard that
Thing that also bothers me is that you have to change all your safety settings etc in the screen
Want to turn of lane keeping assist? Let's go 4 menu's deep to disable it
4 menus... ouch.
And then it's not even a list of the assists, it's a graphical view of the car on which you have to select it, which it horrible while driving
I mean not a huge deal honestly. That's not something you should mess with one the road.
Could be 3 handlings tho, maybe 4
But Toyota's system is all through steering wheel controls, and it's uhhhhh... 2 menus away?
Well it's annoying if you have to turn of lane keeping assist every time you start the car, as ofc it turns itself on every time
🤔
So I wouldn't like to wait on the system to boot up tp change it every time
Because it's probably sAfEr to turn it on every time
All the safety features remember their last state of stetting.
... except for stability control. That's default on. Not that it matters in my case.
It's a Corolla not a GTI.
Well yeah there's a difference between stuff like ABS or ESP and Lane keeping assist
Tbh most things can stay on, if you drive normally they won't bother you
Lane Keep is nice for long road trips.
But lane keeping would steer me in to an oncoming lorry if I leave the village lol
But I keep it off in the city.
Especially since my city has decided to start road work on every single road.
So my car beeps at me a lot.
I almost had a collision with an ID.3 on a country road here because lane keeping suddenly y33ted it in my direction
Luckily the driver corrected
The thing is, country roads often have lines on the side of the road here
VW owners are waiting on their systems to start up to respond.
So it tries to keep left of it
But if you do that, you're driving on the middle of the road
They have to go 5 menu's deep to reply
Some things just need to be hard buttons in cars, including HVAC, safety equipment, basic radio control and shotcuts
And if you have a Tesla Model S Plaid which didn't catch fire yet: a gear selector
HVAC shouldn't be hidden in a menu imo
Radio has no volume knob? Fine. But give me a mute button.
I like to twist the button... although VW puts the on/off logo on the turnable section of the button so it's not upright, which is also horrible
That being said.
I wouldn't mind a new VW.
Hopefully the new WRX will be something nice.
or something new at any rate.
I hate that Honda has a point on making a big fuss about moving back to hardware controls.
Idk it starts at €50k here, for that price I'd buy something else
Had to cut the handbrake expander off the i30
I think its pretty shit for something like that to begin seizing up at 6 years old and completely seize by 8 years
bad design

only reason we are fixing it is for inspections
leaving it in gear is all fine until you forget the the car doesent have a handbrake and roll into the house.
still not as bad as my neighbours across the road old corolla which had a handbrake failure and deleted a wall we had down the side of our house.
wall: obliterated
corolla: tiny scratch which came out
lol wtf just buy a porsche lol
y porsche
What the fuck are you talking about?
I'm talking about the grill design.
Dude, it’s fine if YOU don’t like the way the Alfa looks, almost everyone disagrees with you…
Okay and?
You have weird taste man.
Want me to just go with the flow and agree with everyone else?
I find the Alfa grill to be undersized on an otherwise blobby looking body. I don't see the chiseled looks everyone talks about.
The shape compared to say... Audi looks truncated and squished.
It does not fill me with joy.
The shape looks athletic, it’s clearly rear wheel drive, shit looks like it’s about to pounce. It’s not some frumpy fwd can forward bullshit.
Cab-forward
How does a car look like it's about to pounce exactly?
And a lot of FWD cars have a "cab forward design"
Yeah
And most are ugly
The rear wheels are further apart, front closer, like a cat that’s about to take off. That’s the rwd effect man. Or it should be. Mazda breaks their back to emulate that shit on fwd designs.
The wheels honestly look undersized.
Stylistically I have a lot of issues with it. I do not like it.
Of which it shares a lot of issues with modern cars.
I do like the green tho
for me personally the Gulia/whatever its called is probably the best looking currently produced saloon car
not that its competition is particularly up to much
Guilia's competition is just as overpriced
and just as unreliable
But saying its the best looking 4 door sedan you can buy rn is a pretty hot take
what do you think looks better
only thing that might beat it in the compact saloon sector for me is the S60
The newer Lexus and Toyota 4 door sedans definitely look the best in that category. I am a little biased though
doesn't look as good as the IS or GS, but I think the Giulia looks nice
The new Hyundai's look pretty good too
The new G70 is surprisingly good looking
Yea
The sonata, I think? That has the weird DRLs that run up the body line actually looks pretty neat
May not be the sonata, but it's definitely a new Hyundai that has it
Same
in pieces rn
Pilot bearing self diagnosed with dead
so I pulled the motor to clean it (37 years of grime) and replace a bunch of gaskets
manifolds off
Sonata is nice, but I honest like the K5 a bit more.
Wouldn't say no to either.
idk if I've seen any K5s up close
If you've seen a Sonata... eh either way.
Biggest reasons I like the Korean twins is the fact they also remembered to style the sides and rear.
So many cars are totally anonymous from the side or rear without an emblem.
The elantra for example? You are not mistaking it for anything but a Hyundai.
Meanwhile best people could say about the BMW 8 series was, "It looks like an accord coupe from this angle"
I can't even tell BMWs apart
They lost that rear pillar swoop that made them sort of unique.
That's excellent.
Yea, its really coming around
I won't be able to get every nook and cranny perfect, but still
I was also planning to paint the 12A Mazda lettering blue to match the air cleaner
which should be a bit more visible with the vacuum system modifications I'm doing
I'm just waiting on a house to come my way before I do anything more with the Jeep or 'rolla.
fair enough
and some of us like both cars and computers
Also like... 4 people on LTT staff are car nerds.
imagine
They should make more car videos so they can up the production quality even more.
You'd be surprised how much work you can do with a driveway and a set of ramps lol
uh
I am not surprised tbh. I live in a complex right now.
bro
Yea I feel that
But ramps are on my wish list.
... and whatever tools I can buy from Harbor Fright.
Or was it Harbor Fraught?
no its Harbor Freight
They wish.
