My mums car is worth about ยฃ350, its old and we pay ~ยฃ100 a year maintaining it to MOT standards.
Don't come here with that sov-cit stuff.
How???
wouldnt want to spend some of my money on such menial items
You know what else causes an economic strain? Having an accident because your car is unsafe, causing someone to have permanent injuries
Cars being maintained reasonably creates jobs
And inspecting cars is also a job.
If your car is so far gone that you have to spend a substantial amount of money to meet basic inspections well.
So your solution is to never maintain a car and then buy a brand new one?
Its too far gone isnt it?
Shitboxes needs to be safe as well.
My family has shitboxes. We maintain them to MOT standards for little cost.
Also great idea, why didn't I think of that: don't have an accident
My car is basically one. There is stuff wrong with it, and I know how to fix it. But your average driver doesn't. Nor are they willing to do anything about it. Because it still runs.
if another car makes more sense, not necessarily a new one then change.
So your life or the life of others isn't worth keeping your car within the minimum limits of maintenance?
In my eyes, then used 10 year old cars are the sweet spot to buy.
cannot concur mmlol
But those are also cars that will never see a dealership again.
My fault for buying a crash car though
If you fail the MOT on something which costs a large sum of money then the car is simply unsafe
If you fail that badly
Most $1,000 cars are already something that is falling apart. In most cases, at least.
They will only tell you to replace them if they are actually worn down.
Funnily enough you can have inspections that guess what, make sense.
thats not a little heat damage
if YOU have warped your rotors then they need replaced
relevant
Send it back and get a new one
Thats nothing to do with inspections heh
buys faulty parts from back alley part store
"iNsPeCtIoNs ArE a RiPoFf"
What does any of that have to do with inspections?
And
"We shouldnt have inspections because my brother received a defect brake disc!"
Defective parts are bad yes, you should take that up with the supplier
Sucks to be you I guess
But inspections dont cause this.
Faulty parts will just get replaced by good parts
So we can agree inspections are alright.
Lol sue them
Nothing to do with inspections, still.
โ๏ธ
...
๐ค
That's quality control. Not car inspections.
If the car fails to meet expected requirements on a rolling road braking test then yes it would fail
They dont care how old the parts are
It either meets the requirements or it doesent
They only tell you the end result. If your braking power isn't there. Then you need to fix it.
Mate your control arm is totally bent: "buh its brand new!!!!!!!"
alright then guess you pass
Yikes.
Yet you wouldnt go over 40
They dont check for warpage on a inspection
thats way too much effort
the thickness is checked and it is put on a rolling road
So you're saying that you are good enough at inspection your own car, and taking care of it.
so if it "brakes fine" then it passes.
meanwhile cant identify a problem for 2 years
Yet you let it drive like that for two years?
so just neglect it for 2 years
But you're telling us that you're so good at keeping good care of your car.
Why didn't you just buy a new car?
Nah cars dont need taken care of if it moves its good innit
I dont really think a person that buys a 2016 Camaro is the kind of person that should be complaining about having to maintain their vehicle.
That sounds like warped brakes. Or maybe some suspension components.
...
It wasn't checked out after that?
its just a troll really
Sounds like the issue is deeper than just rotors.
but people like this do exist.
Aye. Sounds like a troll in my eyes. A Joker, if you will.
Then it's at the point where the insurance company should just take the car.
even if this story is real its a story of incompetence rather than anything bad about inspections.
If a car that has been in a collision can not be fixed after several attempts to fix it. Then there is something wrong with it.
If you don't mind me asking. Who was at fault in the accident?
So true.
My whole opinion is still that you should have chases after the people who repaired your vehicle. Having documented faults would have made the whole process easier for you.
Tesla meh but this steering wheel is unforgiveable
unless they give it a fast as fek steering rack or its very annoying
and fast steering racks are annoying for highway driving
also the wheel is annoying for reversing at speed
just y
Elon's goal is to make every human input something the car is supposed to do. Steering is something that the ai is supposed to do, so no need for a giant steering wheel or anything...
My summary of his words at least. Lol
Too soon
it is a pretty dumb steering wheel design
The software certainly isnt there yet for that to work out
not even hypercars have wheels like that
mfw a hypercar is more sensible than a tesla
The wheel looks cool but yeah seems uncomfortable
itd have to have a very high speed rack for city driving
which would make motorway driving horrible
no one wants to have to be that precise in a commuter car
Eh, usually I don't need to turn my wheel more than 90 degrees while driving
UK then
Do teslas have electronic steering?
yeah
US of A-holes
but its still directly mechanically connected afaik
so you cant adjust the speed only the resistance
ik BMWs can get like some fancy steering gubbins as an option to make the steering different for different speeds
theres a bend on my way home that I do more than a full turn
I need to use full turn just to get off my driveway lol
the camera makes it look longer than it is
I figured
ive hit full lock bumpstop when doing it in the wet
Many T junctions in the UK dont give you much room for manouvre
so you have to turn the wheel fast at a exact point
else you just cut the corner
also miniroundabouts
Dang, guess I won't go to the UK unless I get a scooter or bike
Got me into the habit of palm steering
need to get one of those funny steering thingys that truckers get
i swear they're illegal or something like that
seems not
also reversing with speed on single track roads with that wheel will be aids
sorry mate youll have to reverse I bought a tesla
Still doable but its not making it any easier
BuT tHe Ai WiLl Do It
With how non existent the road surface is here will have to be a pretty smart one heh
road not found
The AI will defo not be able to know how to deal with oncoming traffic on country roads
i guess that'd be when the silly meatbag in the driver's seat would have to take over
I cant wait for people to stick 30mph signs on the back of their cars on 50mph near city roads

cant wait lol
just stick one outside your window to cause an accident
I really dislike how the plaid looks like a standard Model S
I really want BMW to integrate high beam flashing into their self driving when they add it
car
2 wheel car ๐ฏ๐ฏ
Oversized Motorcycle
and the fire's on the inside
literally what internal combustion is by definition
The yoke in a Tesla is nearly as tragic as removing the wiper/signal stalks.
It's like we're back in the 10s... the 1910s. Were you had to relearn everything to drive a car effectively. Telsa is bringing fragmentation back into fashion. Control stalks which are universal across car brands? nah. Not even a light switch knob. How about a PRNDL gear selector? lol no.
Minimalism shouldn't come at the cost of functionality.
smh you cant even get a manual gearbox on a tesla
i refuse to buy until that's an option
Lol are you serious?
A manual gearbox in an electric car is pointless
maybe for top speed but in normal city driving TQ is king
You're parked in a parking lot. And want to reverse. But car just wants to go forward. Because there is nothing in the way.
I hate on-screen buttons. Hate then with a passion.
I don't mind a dial, or anything. I just don't like on-screen buttons for anything.
Especially not if I want to do tasks that should be simple, and only require muscle memory.
Learn the new ways
Going through a touchscreen to change gear should not be the future
๐ค Looks like some terrible street design lol
this is the good bit :^|

This looks horrible lol
2021 Tesla Model S Plaid Refresh Driving around with Yoke steering wheel. New Tesla Refreshed Model S Plaid. Yoke steering wheel.
I would rather drive austin allegro than this
This would be even more incentive for people to drive over miniroundabouts than go around them
vehicle
haha square wheel go brrrrr
It is actually
You can operate it by feel
That what makes physical hardware controls better. You don't need to look to adjust lights, wipers, or other functions
If it's a touchscreen, you'll be looking
y tho
Looks should not come at the price of functionality
Except you can't do things by feel
Changing wiper speed requires a menu
It requires you to take your hand of the wheel
There's something wrong with that thumbnail
Give me the tl;dr
I'm failing to see how it's better than hardware controls
What if the screen breaks
That sounds bad
Why tho
If my screen breaks I can drive my car
I can't tell how fast I'm going
Down a hill it does.
A very very steep hill
You can't use the car at all if a Tesla
Tesla don't know how to spell. It's spelled Joke. Not Yoke.
I can still drive if my screen breakd
Nope
And Linus has been more negative than other outlets
That reminds me. I know of someone whose Model S had its screen go all black.
He could still drive. But no screen.
LMG is not a Tesla safe space
Can't remember if it was both the infotainment, as well as the instrument cluster.
Model S, pre refresh still has hardware controls
Tho the MCU failing would kill the car
Yeah. It does. Which is why he could keep driving it normally.
With the new one, then you wouldn't be able to reverse and do some other stuff.
On-screen stuff.
"Because that's not the future"
And yet it is
As are turn signal stalks and wiper stalks
Buttons aren't as intuitive
How so
We're talking about cars
Capacity buttons are the worst. No feel to them.
Motorcycles handlebars don't spin 800 degrees
You never take your hands of the bars to turn
Saw one of the videos about the guy driving with the yoke wheel. And he accidentally hit the horn.
How intelligently designed
Also, doesn't some super cars have motorcycle like blinkers?
That requires you to take your hands of to go to full lock
Isn't it 900 degrees? That's what I heard.
Same
Turning it on on a roundabout?
Also yes
Wat
Wow, rude
Kek
Sounds like an r/cars member
Where's the mod for such deathtreath?
Wishing harm on someone is no bueno
And there are situations that turn signals are called for mid turn
Living in a city makes that super obvious
You know what I wish upon you guys?
||Ice-cream||
Anyway roundabouts are a valid reason for turn signal weirdness
I sometimes have 2 corners very close after eachother, basically left-right or right left. You don't have another choice then to indicate mid-turn there.
But also don't forget turning on your indicator while exiting on a roundabout..
You don't it on to enter it. Only when exiting.
And slightly off set streets
A stalk is just way more convenient for such operations
I do in the US... Just in case
I only do it if I'm taking the first right, or the third right.
It's nice being over clear some times.
I also turn in on before entering when turning left or right (not straight), but that's not mandatory (and even forbidden in some countries like Belgium). Signalling before exiting is mandatory (luckily, although not everybody does)
It's kinda instinctive for me. If I'm turning off the road so to speak, blinker goes on.
Also, if it's a roundabout with more than one lanes. Then you can signal if you want to go between the inside, and outside lane.
That's a fucky gif. But I've seen it before.
Americans Trying To Use First Roundabout In Town Is Terrifying To Watch
Aerial footage has provided a unique insight into the carnage that ensued when a roundabout was installed in a town in Kentucky.
You see, roundabouts - while considered commonplace in the UK and Europe - aren't usually found in America, where they prefer things to be done...
Apparently the first one in that town?
Anytime I go through in my Jeep
But they made it super clear.
I literally drive a truck for work.
Heaps of steering input. All. The. Time.
More than 90 and I start questioning the buttons on any steering wheel
Getting back in the old Scania again for a while.
Cause using steering buttons upside down is a pain.
Thankfully the splitter was repaired.
That's the problem. I shouldn't have to focus on where my dang indicator is.
Yep
Or else I become the person you hate. The one who don't care about using them in the first place.
If it becomes an inconvenience. Then I legit would stop using them.
And that's coming from a BMW driver that always uses the indicators.
So much so that the stalk has gotten a bit of play in it.
I don't believe you.
I can get you a dashcam video of that, but I'm too lazy to get it
A bmw driver indicating?!?
Indicators just need to be on a stalk. Period.
Wiper and indicators really do need to be separate controls. Since they should just be muscle memory.
Had that bite me once
It's always in the same place, you can hit it how and wherever you want to, it'll still go on. You don't need to guess where it is, touch a very specific captive button on a specific place
Interesting strawman.
But
The closer a shifter is to the wheel the better
Idea is to have both hands on the wheel as much as possible
That's not bad tbh
You guys seen the 2CV shifter?
Man what would you do if Elon suddenly decided you have to sit backwards in the car in order to drive it?
Yes, and I own one of them
^ yeah I remember that, more Citroen had it
Nah, only reverse
I'd show him what a shambles the new Ford's are.
It's sure is a better car in my eyes.
I'd take the F150 lightning over either
The one and only reason for me to ever think about getting a Tesla would be the charging network.
Pretty much
The Cybertruck is also a joke. Look back to when it was announced. How much have they progressed since then?
Not to mention the Roadster V2.
It's a car for 140k. I can't afford it
If Tesla had a 25k hatchback I'd be interested
But the CT looks inferior to the EV F150
And they'll have to ship the truck out of state to sell it in the state
Ford has a bigger one
A big drawback with any EV is just how much the raw cost of batteries is.
River Rouge is one of the biggest and most storied production facilities in the world.
Wat
I wonder what will happen to Tesla in 20-25 years.
What even is English?
You know what would have kicked ass? Tesla just sticking to battery production.
Making EVs actually affordable!
It is. It's just the batteries that are costly.
And the development to start off with.
What's crappy about either?
Isn't the Leaf one of the best selling EV's?
Ah, so any car
In that case damn near anything is better than a Tesla nevermind an EV
The thing with EV's is how many incentives you get, and how cheap they are to run.
Poor Tesla /s
Mitsubishi Mirage
Before or after government incentives?
This year, they're down 75% from that so far ๐ฅฒ (comparing numbers from January - May)
It goes from unaffordable to affordable for me
It might literally cut down on 25% of the price. Why shouldn't I care?
ICE cars aren't going to be around forever. So why should I care about them?
Because they go brrrrrrr and that's fun

I prefer the spacy sounds of the Taycan.
I'm looking forward to the Lucid Air ๐
Smh. They literally explode as you move.
Better get yourself a steammobile.
Much safer!
Don't tempt me
That was an actual argument for getting a steam powered automobile back in the day.
"You wouldn't want a car with an engine that literally explodes! Steam is much safer!"
Steam is way worse. By the W. Since you're dealing with a big pressure cooker.
Yeah, but it's just one big boom vs many booms
Stop being such an ICE shill jeeze. ALL HAIL HORSES
I prefer donkey's
Not a fan, too much of a kick
Alpacas?
Horses don't exist.
I think he left
Good night all.
Oof gg
Damn did i miss the party
Construction has been going on here since 2020 and I was just doing my usual routine not realising they were finally starting to open up lanes
screw the traffic lights though
cries in road construction since I was born
I dont know how long it takes to repave a roundabout and place some traffic lights
the repaving has been done for ages. Maybe the one person who programs traffic lights in Fife is on holiday and isnt available to make another wack setup
There is the express way thag is under construction since I was born and still loathing changed
I remembwr being driven there as a 5-7 year old and driving there now with my own car
Its exactly what I remember

Being from the nordics i found that whenever LTT or others discuss Teslas they neglect the following.
Norway as an example has the highest Tesla per capita in the world. VW deliver specific Nordic equipment packages to their electric cars to the nordics to appease the market up there.
SO what are you neglecting might you ask.. well, the plaid makes no sense anywhere other than the nordics I will give you that.
However.
A normal vehicle in the nordics(Norway and Denmark especially) are heavily taxed. Electric cars are not.
so for a regular Audi A5 (similar sedan looking car) in a normal spec you pay 119.450 usd.
However the top current model version of the Tesla s can be had for round 95.000 usd.
In an attempt to get the electric car market going, what happened is that a Tesla plaid, with is absurd any where else, is good value in Norway.
I know it is just a 20 million people market, but Norway has sold a lot of Teslas electric vehicles.
I added a link you the tax calculator, feel free to see first hand how this all gets cheap cause its electric.
https://www.skatteetaten.no/person/avgifter/bil/importere/regn-ut/
I like how Tesla sales dropped by 60% last year and 75% again this year in ๐ณ๐ฑ
(kind of similar taxation rules with gas powered cars being expensive, but not THAT expensive like the A5 you said)
Im danish, so i just found the numbers from the norwegian dealers, in denmark we have the same high taxation on petrol cars, but only remove the vat on electric and hybrids. we dont remove the registration fee you pay to get plates on your car in denmark.
Just chose the norwegian as they emphasise it alot clearer.

But in norway you then also park for free and can drive in bus lanes.
Every fuel type has to pay VAT here, so there's always 21% tax.
But, on petrol or diesel powered cars (or hybrid, PHEV... anything which is nog full-EV) we have to pay BPM, which is bascially an emissionstax. It ranges from like โฌ2k for an Aygo to โฌ6k for a Golf, or โฌ60k for a Mustang V8
So besides not having to pay the emissons tax, + 0โฌ road tax (which is โฌ600/year for my Corsa, โฌ1300/year for a Golf sized diesel, โฌ3k for a X5), + lower taxation if you use it as a company car (12% vs 22%) EV's have enough benefit imho
With petrol vs electric prices, they are a win in dk as well, but in norway you would have to be a moron to not buy a tesla, an e-golf or a jaguar i-pace..
I did some calculations here recently for a Ford Ranger:
Ranger XLT Double Cab:
- โฌ29750 before taxes
- VAT: โฌ6248
- BPM (emissions tax): โฌ53408
Total: โฌ 89406```

But yeah in Norway EV is the way to go
Although it's kinda hypocrite, subsidising EV's by selling/retreiving fossil fuels
yes..
70k usd for the base audi A4 apparently
76k for the long range model 3 in dk..
SO who goes and buys the worst A4 model then ?
52k usd in norway.. again why buy anything else then..
I really hope they dont make tax for petrol cars aids here
with the gerenal wealth of the norwegian population im sure they hardly realised they have the tax ๐
Mach E would make just as much sense in the nordics! cause you would save alot of money anyway.. just EV everything in this region !
Seems like it, yeah
Does the BPM also apply to used sales?
It does in norway and denmark, here its a yearly fee.
https://www.norwegianamerican.com/norway-teslas-biggest-market/
so yeah.. who is the tesla plaid made for ... rich ass norwegians ..
For The Netherlands... Kind of. As cars were more expensive new, they remain more expensive as they get older. Yeah could import a car from another country, but on import you have to pay (a remainder of) the BPM tax on import. Sometimes it makes sense, sometimes it doesn't
Apparently a whopping 4 Model S's have been registered here so far this year in ๐ณ๐ฑ
4 ? in all of the Netherlands ?
https://teslastats.no
norway had 1439 this month.
Model 3 going from best selling car in 2019 to... #quiteabitdown
Market share wise... They've gone down quite a bit as well
The best selling EV now here is the Volvo XC40 P8 iirc
Followed by the e-Niro and the Kona-e
Ok yeah they dropped from #1 to #82
That be Audi e-tron in norway, cause you know norwegians cant be seen in some chepo cars..

Ties right back to who is the plaid for..
E-Tron sold when it just came out because those few people just wanted the Audi electic SUV, after that sales dropped
176 E-Tron's this year, 45 E-Tron GT's
214 Taycan's
So more Taycan's than E-Tron's
Not by a small margin either..

https://www.tv2.no/a/11755730/
They already reached 1000 of those sold in norway..
Porsches fรธrste helelektriske sportsbil har satt nye standarder for kjรธreopplevelse for elbiler, til stor begeistring for stadig nye kundegrupper.
Gotta use those oil funds to buy something ๐
and the fish money ..
ID.3's they registered a ๐ฉ load of them here in December 2020 (like 8000 in a month)... Over 2000 of those still haven't been sold by now and are still parked at dealerships, they only registered 197 ID.3's so far this year
๐ฅฒ
Those have been kept back by vw though, due to software issues.. that they still have.
No these are all actively for sale, with the software "fixed" according to VW
They just sell really slow, they had an inital run (as is with basically every EV here), and after that sales just dropped for the ID.3
I have the last of the e-golfs. and they offered me to swap to the id.3.. NOOOOO! to that..
E-Golf ๐
Just picked one of those up from the dealer cause its cheaper with a hybrid in dk than an old passat..
Seat: Let's make Cupra a separate brand
Cupra: Let's take a Leon and slap some bronze accents on it
and strap the undercariage from the a4 on ๐
And lets make sure we give it stupid stuff nobody needs!
Did they? ๐ค
Ah yes, the Tribal Tattoo logo literally nobody understands
Yes, its the adaptive suspension platform developed for the A4.
and the drive line from the GTE golf
so lets just throw some stuff in here and call it a race model seems to be the strategy here ๐
But to their credit, it rides reeeally well ๐
Horrible infotainment system tho
yes!
they have alot to fix there.. but i use car play, so could not really care less about it ๐
Haven't driven a Cupra Leon yet (a probably won't drive it ever) so not going to judge it on that ๐ (driving capabilities I mean by that)
no you are definately right.. alot of wierd little bugs..
utter crap
continues to use AUX and MP3 CD's as infotainment
carplay FTW!
cupra has android auto implemented, and that works flawlessly in there ๐
(i run one android and one ios phone, and 4 sim card.. will loose my mind soon.. )
Lol xD
Too bad you still need to go 3 menu's deep to turn of stuff like lane departure warning every single trip and such
no thats right in the main thing in the cupra thanksfully!
2 successive clicks on the left handle thingy.
Ah ok, in the VW one you have to go in to multiple menus and they you get that stupid imagine of a car driving with some random functions scattered around on the image
yes the e-golf has that issue..
also, both have seperate key profiles, but none remembers reqoup or assistant settings..

why have key profile if they only change the radio chanel ?!?!
Nice
Key profiles in my car change almost nothing, mostly stuff like follow me home lights, auto rear wiper and stuff like that
But I'm the only one who drives it so wouldn't bother me anyways
in my old audi it set the seats, and i really loved that.. but my new cars are manually actuated seats.. sooooooo..
still VW.. get it fixed..
They only just started arriving in denmark.
what are people in the netherlands even driving ?=
Mostly whatever is the most interesting as a company car
passat gte it is ?
~20% of new sold cars are owned by private owners, all others are company cars in some form of way
PHEV's were selling well a few years ago, but not anymore
2013-2016 mostly
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, Golf/Passat GTE, V60 D6, stuff like that
if you have a company car in denmark or norway you get taxed unfairly for it, as its an "advantage" to you job.
The "cheap" thing to do here is to get a loan from your company for the car with minimal interest.. and compensate with a slightly higher payroll.,
You get also get taxed here, but it's added to your pay in some way and then it gets reducted from the pay before taxes, so it's cheaper as getting it yourself
Top 10 so far this year
looks like a sad list ๐ฆ
Last year
Mostly smaller cars as that's the only thing that's affordable
Smaller cars or larger EVs
Also often higher trims but low engine specs
due to taxation ?
Yeah
I wish someone from the ltt staff could weigh in with how the taxation applies to that taycan they tested.
i dont know the premise for hos they said the price related to the performance..
As i said, in norway its actually a "good" value propersition ..
I think the Taycan is the cheapest Porsche you can get here
โฌ89k, ok not the cheapest as the 718 can be had from โฌ87.5k ๐
you can always get a boxster ๐
That is some sort of funny though ๐
You know what else is funny? A Land Rover Defender 110 base price is โฌ20k less than the Defender 90
๐ฅฒ
We dont really trust those up here ๐
Nope
lol imagine buying cars for more than $100
now this is a car
I saw one of those drifting at the Freedom Factory drift night
We review the new 2022 VW Taos, an SUV with different names around the world. We are overtaken with options in this class, however with a $22,000 starting price, $28,000 as tested, this cute machine is a value. The question is would buyers choose it over the tough-as-nails Ford Escape, Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-30, Honda CRV, Hyundai Tucson?
Ind...
Yeah they ugly but it was hilarious to see drifting
I got a video of one doing a burnout
lots of smoke!!!
My friend burning out in his grandma's car haha (just kidding it's his).
Oil was used since the Taurus can barely spin tires on its own.
Watch, rate, laugh, and comment.
its an early 4th gen tho
2002 most likely
so it would have a durraTec 3.0 liter I'm pretty sure
I own an 04 and it is really fun especially considering the fact it still runs as well as it does
California banned the 992 911 gt3 6 speed manual cause itโs to loud ๐๐คก
They did some serious stuff to that Taurus
I think it was turboed so probably not the factory engine
the one in the video is stock its just using an e brake the drift one is probally the 1jz swapped rwd taurus I wanna do a 5.0 rwd drag setup on my eventually
Little video of Louis and his 1jz supra powered Ford taurus! Check him out on instagram Porschetech101 to follow his build!
Sorry about the rough audio/wind noise in some spots it was super windy. i tried to edit out some frequencies but i am still a noob at that lol
Please like/comment/subscribe for more videos in the future!
you don't see many making actually power most of em if they are modded are just riced out
I really wanna get a 96-99 sable and do something with it
What's even the point of this VW?
Did it replace the Tiguan? Looks similar sized, but just made of crappier materials?
Also the wheel/body proportion makes it look like some Chinese budget car
its a seat ateca
the american tiguan is the allspace, so they conjured up a vw ateca which as you know is basically a tiguan
made from shittier materials because america
The US also had the Tiguan iirc, both the Tiguan and the Tiguan Allspace
Interior looks more pulled out of a T-Cross I'd say? But yeah that's also a massive downgrade from the Tiguan
Which also kind of makes sense as the Ateca, Karoq, T-Roc and now the Taos are both on the A1 platform, whereas the Tiguan (Allspace) is on the A2 platform
So it's basically a T-Roc sized like a Tiguan
they had the old tiguan selling for a year or two
not both the new ones
yeah they called it the tiguan limited
interior is your typical vw mishmash
centre console is same as tiguan but new dash layout similar to the facelift seat arona
fisheye intensifies
this car is my dream as a late 90s-early 00s car lover
why I thought that was fiat brava?
I thought it was a fiat aswell heh
oh it is a fiat, thats sorta disappointing
but If I would be honest
The 2 fiats I like is the Fiat tempra and the Fiat coupe
but I've seen tempra, and it was just Christmas lights inside
love the front of the coupe, back is a bit eh.
everything was broken
I agree with the back
but it's still a nice looking car
get the inline 5
oh
The American Tiguan even the 5 seater is sized like a Tiguan all space in the UK, yeah
A Tiguan sized T-Roc is about the size of it, I think. Good cargo space, slow but efficient engine, crappier materials, but good features. Like a CRV but less reliable. Not sure how itโll sell in the US
I feel like when Americans want that, they go Japanese
yes it is like that in brazil
Varies market to market- I think the bigger ones are made in Mexico
The Tiguan they sell now is what we know as the Tiguan Allspace, yes (but cheaper built).
But they don't sell the "normal" Tiguan as we know it, but the Taos which is Tiguan-sized T-Roc kind off
I had a friend who is slightly more qualified than me look at the exhaust and he was like yeah nah thats not passing
managed to get a new rear silencer for ยฃ50 though
I also didnt like the fact it sounded like a lawnmower
The Taco will place below the Tiguman in the VW line up.
Weird considering VW doesn't really need an entry level product. Jetta is cheap as it stands
Just find it weird they don't offer the regular Tiguan as a Tiguan under the Tiguan Allspace in the US ๐
Especially with the price difference, Taos starting from 22.995 USD vs 25245 USD for the Tiguan Allspace in the US... I'd say the Taos isn't worth it?
Between SE's, the difference is just 150 USD?
SEL 1055 USD?
The Tiguan seems like a better purchase, having a more upscale platform + interior
Not forgetting the bigger engine
I want to drive this. https://www.blocket.se/annons/skane/volvo_fh650_lastvaxlare_6x2_euro_6_lagmil/95520558

Im playing car mechanic sim
and I have a RX-7
But what
else
do I fix
LS swap it
cant
don't most of the car mechanic sims give you a list of tasks that need to be fixed?
Oh gosh
I did look at the prices for my mom's first gen yaris
And the parts are like 2-3 times more expensive used than for my first gen focus
Shit It Is What It Is
reminds me of the mini with its broken/misaligned level adjust lol
broom broom
Bruh the honda
Has ABS light on for months
installs jumper for ABS diagnostics
ABS light goes off and doesent come back on
guess I fixed it!!!
Thatโs how it is with the srs light in my rsx. just unplug it and plug it back in once in a while and the light will go off
I just took the ABS bulb out of my car lol
got tired of it and I don't plan to fix it. Not much ice here in texas anyway
couldn't even fix it if I wanted to most likely, the parts are long gone
My justy people are like how did you get one
But hey im thinking of putting a boxer in it
But i know nothing
Oh boy there might be hail tonight
My truck is outside
My truck only has liability insurance on it right now
im looking for a first car rn. How much should i be paying for an rx7 in usd. No problems with the car but can have an ok paint job like a bit of paint fade etc.
help is greatly appreciated โบ๏ธ
Hmmmm
Buy a OBD2 scannner
Scan it
If it has problems ask for the reason
And check for any curves
In the bodywork
Like unlogical curved
And if it is
It might have been In a accident
Ask for a inspection sheet
Check if the paint is original
After your done go and service the car
Get a oil change
See if the engine runs smooth
Change the tires
Yeah
Any other problems dm me
I'm almost 24/7 up
$h!t car

An Indian woman has claimed to have found a unique way to beat the extreme heat in the nationโs westernmost state of Gujarat โ at least while driving. Taking a cue from traditional insulation used on builds, she covered her car with a mix of cow dung and mud.
Foll...

So stupid
My car overheated
Went to red when driving on highway
Out of nowhere, I have full coolant and oil
At speeds under 89 kmh does not overheat
i wanna be here
MPG intensifies
moneypits
sussy
woah what if you covered your engine with cow dung?
i thought a chunk was missing for a second there
bro literally everyone is saying that lmao
all our cars have been taken by rust before we are blessed with needing the clutch replaced on FWD cars
no
our cars have been taken by unpleaseant regulations
wot
cars were outright original in the late 90s-early 00s
everyone was trying something new and cool with design and functions
well a bit unrelated but ok
now everything is futuristic, ready for eletricity, needs to attend a hella lot of regulations to even get to work, turbo lowsized engines which will be painful to repair in the future, also the cars are becoming more and more forgettable
Cool air channel system to keep the brakes cool (2002 boxster)
where rust
I think last time I checked a 2002 boxster costed me as much to insure as a 2002 1.6 civic
cool attainable cars but I need more storage space
I think the 90s were some of the most forgettable cars ever made. Especially GM and Ford. I would say Chrysler, but those didn't survive warranty in the winter.
I'd say the newest batch of compact cars are very memorable. Toyota and Mazda design language is actually interesting. Honda got boring again, but ultra functional, Nissan and the Korean twins pushing what luxury means at a budget.
For you americans
For me in Brazil it was the craziest
Remember we didn't had imports from 1976 to 1990
And when imports came back with the Real Plan in 1994 with a 1:1 parity of prices within dollar and real which attracted a lot of car manufacturers
Can't speak for Brazil, but right now is a golden age for cars.
A Corolla makes 170 horsepower, is styled as it is, and offers all the goodies BMW charges you for now.
Civic can get up to 180, Mazda around the same in the US.
They make I guess the most beautiful cars I've seen since I saw a 80s Lambo
In brazil it is the most sold sedan here, but it's starting to overlap with the more basic trim lines of the Big 3 Luxury brands(Audi,Mercedes and BMW).
Overlapping with cars like the A3 Sedan, the C180 and the 320i
I think we all know what the better car is here
good car
ye the subaru
Nah the mitsubishi colt to the right ofcourse.
I just saw a pulsar gti with the stock hood replaced with a normal hood
There's one car that is unforgettable however.
And it's this.
The style was so controversial, but I personally love it.
No doubt there
Anyone else watching the French Grand Prix right now?
Yes, at work ๐
I won't get called in to work for a few hours, got up early to watch. Not a track I like, but always happy to see one live
It's only 7 in the morning here
almost 16.00 here

I'm in Vancouver
๐ณ๐ฑ
...cheering for Max? ๐
super max ๐
Basically mandatory lol
Yeah
Didn't like Max when he was a new driver, but he's matured so much. Really enjoy him now.
Yeah he's doing fine
I like seeing Red Bull apparently not getting pwned on strategy

Max is gaining again, at this pace he might have a chance
Yea, I think the three TWO stop was a good choice...combined with Perez going long
Yea, much better than the last time at this track
Oof the differences per lap between Hamilton and Max are quite large
yes... but getting teh pass isn't going to be easy
I think Merc will two-stop Bottas but leave Hamilton out
Likely
I think they want to finish Hamilton without a second stop
Will be some exciting final laps
NICE
Damn nice pass
Love seeing them wheel to wheel for a bit there
Yeah they where side by side for quite some time
I threw a vote at Ricciardo for Driver of the Day\
There goes Bot
Yes, Stroll into the points!
FUCK YEA
Yeah true
That was a good race
Yea, that was a smooth pass. Honestly he took Hamilton more easily than I expected as well. An excellent drive
I disagree.
bruh
lol no
no
that's a hot take if I ever saw one
Best like cheap long distance commuter engine, eh yeah Iโd go with that. Best overall, nah.
cheap long distance commuter engine? 2ZR out of a Corolla.
I'm gonna be basic and say 2jz-ge
My LTT Porsche GIF got accepted
You can find it by typing ltt/ltt porsche in GIF
we need a battle like senna x prost in the 90s
Honda D16 clearly best engine
vtec?
vtec is a good oil level sensor. EML comes on from vtec error? low oil.
Do we think that's Linus' new house in that gif/video?
no
My two girls
its no diagonal parking spaces :^)
my two fine automobiles
total value: ยฃ2100
Might be able to get more for the mazda 2 with young people getting their loicenses and things going back
Is that a GR YARIS!?
Yes sir
OH MAN! wish they had those here in the states! I drive an Abarth 500 [American 500 Abarth is more similar to the euro 595 tho]
Should I buy a car or just spend it in on a bike cos I live in london
bike because europe became too much car unfriendly
True
europe is killing cars
i will not drive electric cars
gimme my fiat marea with its 2,4l fivetech engine
@fathom socket I drove the competizione with 180bhp ages ago
Fun car
The GR is completely different if Iโm honest
If anything my black 400bhp Seat is closer to the Abarth really
Just spins tyre everywhere
my abarth is about 165 BHP, the american stock abarths are a little faster than their euro counterpart, i think they euro ones are 135 stock. Regardless, it's an amazing car and ill probably never love another car as much as my Abarth
my car loves premium octane fuel and the suspension feels like it's made form Gravel
A nice bike is really worth it in London if it don't get stolen
I know so one who got stabbed for his bike
Road an are sooooo stupid
Mazda 2's suspension is rock solid and has little tyre sidewall
Is anyone here in America
unfortunately
Saw this a few dats ago
unrelated, love the artstyle of your Profile picture. Hondas are reliable as hell ^-^
thanks, and yes thatโs why i wanted a civic, only 60k miles so iโm hoping to keep it for a while
certainly more reliable than my abarth! ^-^
It kinda has that feel about it. Two great drivers. Both with great cars, teams and teammates...and in a season right before major changes. This is a great season so far.
yikers 23 diesel mpgs
27.3 MPG U.S. ๐
10 mpg ๐๐
23.1 MPG US = 27.7 MPG UK, if you forgot to convert it
would expect better from a deesel
It's not bad for a Yukon XL lol
If I had 10 US mpg it would cost me ยฃ35 ($49) to go to uni and back
That'd be 4.2km/l... So on a roundtrip to uni that'd be almost 18 liters... * โฌ1.76 (regular) or โฌ1.89 (premium) atm that's โฌ32 ($38 USD) or โฌ35 ($40.5 USD)
That's a roundtrip of 45 miles
65 ยฃ1.30/l :^)
If I took my saab to work on my old pay my first two hours would be moot

Despite having 2 cars when I start working again on monday ill be hitching a ride
My pay wasnt even that bad considering I was 17 at the time.
Roundtrip to work for me is basically 1 liter of fuel, but with LPG that's like <โฌ0.50
So that's not too bad
every journey I make is usually 60-70 miles roundtrip :^(

its like 15p a mile in the mazda 2 and 20p a mile in the saab.
Ive never tried hypermiling or driving with fuel in mind though
Latest refueling was 42.1c/liter (LPG), so 3.4c/km = 5.5c/mile = 4.7p/mile
Ofc no hypermiling, that was a quite inefficient tank xD
Do you get about the same mpg on LPG as you do petrol
A LPG conversion would probably be good in the saab but its probably not something I can legally install myself.
Yeah no you can't so that yourself
Many Saabs do run great on LPG tho
Your Mazda not so much
Apparently you can do it here legally
They sold Mazda 2 Bi-Fuel's here, and although it was "factory" it wasn't, it was installed somewhere in Belgium.
But those engines can't take LPG well, requires a head rebuild every 60k miles (and probably way sooner)
You can do here as well but then you can't get an LPG-G3 certification, idk how that is in the UK
apparently the certificate here is just something insurance companies can be stingy over
but you can pay to get your installation examined for like ยฃ50
It's also for tax purposes here, LPG is taxed twice as high as LPG-G3
And my LPG-G3 Corsa is already โฌ660/Year in tax
๐ฅฒ
the saab is so old its just taxed based on the size of the engine not the emissions
pre 2001 be like that
Everything here is taxed based on weight and fuel type
But there's a distinguishing between LPG and LPG-G3 as fuel type
We have different tax systems based on when the car was made
different pre 2001, 2001 - 2017 and 2017 - now.
Ah no a brand petrol new car of 1200kg has the same road tax as a 30 year old 1200kg petrol car here
Hmm yeah my Corsa as LPG would be โฌ1176/year vs the mere ( ๐ฅฒ ) โฌ684 I pay now
So a nearly โฌ500/year difference in tax... So a professional install with G3 certificate is an investment you get back quite quickly
(although mine came with it from the factory so ez pz)
itd be 52p /l LPG vs ยฃ1.30/l petrol so If i was doing 10,000 miles a year in the saab it would make sense to pay for someone to convert it
A conversion will be like ยฃ1200
cars value ยฃ450
If the car was newer id grudge it less, just have to factor in the cars at the age where its life is questionable.
Im suprised they dont have government schemes for lpg conversions :/
laughs in no car taxes
But the insurance is expensive compared to the income at least for me
its a 6000 lb car lol
you can get a 6.2l gas v8 with 16 mpg US combined

Probably still cheaper in gas than a shitbox here

Probably
not a car meme but figured this would be the best channel to post this in
O
Shipping an exhaust in a plastic bag with random sheets of cardboard ๐ง
I just broke the end of the bag open because I knew it would be damaged shipped like this. Will probably still be fine / bendable back but smh
Netherlands?
Ja
My radiator is gone I think
I touch the fins and they disintegrate
and the bottom is cold
mazda 6 wagon is eh
one thing mazda does is still putting manuals, +1
that red legacy
Wot
Depends on the wagon. I like this one
Was a good car
my gosh that's cool
i like the corolla touring sports
It was fun. Good power, my dad ultimately got rid of it because he likes the LR Defender more and needed something more practical/less nice
Looks good!
To me a wagon needs to be fairly muscular and the back needs to slope a fair bit
Like the e36 wagon looks horrible
Along with the panamera wagon
sort of taking the idea of a land rover defender 130, some extra space at the back
works for LR, not a wagon tho
it is a buick roadmaster/olds vista cruiser from the early 90s
Do get they are really good (110)
Mixed up 110 and 130
130 I think is planned though
yup, apparently
8 seater would be cool ngl
guys whats the fastest 0-60 production vehicle in the world
and is tesla roadster redesign released or no
Valtra T234
Not released
Rimac Nevera 1.7-1.8 0-100kmh
On rod
Not on prepped drag strip with special tires
Just stock on a road
Unlike a Tesla Model S plaid
Think y'all would appreciate this. ๐
Valtra is faster
Its a tractor
Well a fiat 500 is basically a ball so yeah i agree
as a driver of one, i agree xD
might as well have not touched it in the first place
๐
