My keys fell out from the ignition
Put back in and start back
Find very good mechanic and dont let them rip you off i mean of money
I think I could do that my self
But also knowing that my car has been broken in in 10 seconds
So try get best piece not cheap ones they break soon
💪 💯
all fun and games until a friend/relative needs to borrow your car and they can't get past the biometric security
I have no friends or family
My old tyres were so bad
I can go up the steep hill without doing a massive burnout
And it's hard to get wheels spin
Even in rain
Rust converter
Turning rust in to steel... It's magic
I guess you could convert my sills to steel

unfortunately it cannot reconstitute the hole that is there
but thats what metal reinforced filler is for : )
probably isnt completely gone unless you own a peugoet 305
But I own ford
The entire sill just turned in to dust when car got jacked there
But 180-220 EUR isn't that bad i guess
Im gona do 200 cell catalytic converter with dpf off on my megane
Still quite steep, but I But cheaper than plane ticket and Trai is tickets to where I would need to go
ok
maybe a little less worse
unless you really care about the aesthetic most people here just have patches fabricobbled
they dont really make repair panels for my saab so i will have to cut the arches out of one that is being parted out or just form pieces to a close enough shape to patch in
he gettin a bath
nice!!
tint ❤️
at least you got a nice car color
cries in slight cream white paint
What should I be wary of
I'm kind of thinking
There is a part of highway that was in construction when I was born
But it still looks exactly the same after like 17 years
Do you live in Illinois
So many taxes
Such poor roads

I live in Poland
00s Chryslers are not considered to be... quality. Daimler cut a lot of corners. I'd be wary of the drive train. Differentials apparently like to grenade. And general electrical issues.
Very
there was a cobbled road that was actually used that was covered by asphalt but it was so badly made the cobble came through again
within like 2 yearss
I think the truck has been taken care of pretty well so hopefully it does not happen
Also it is only $2000
They just rebrick the roads here
Are there any Typ44 Audi fans from the US or something? Greetings from Germany
Im more of an r8 type guy, but i like audi as a company
just looked it up, that's a cool car
wow
looks like there's a wagon version too
i would love to own that
only bad part ab it is that everything audi puts out is a bit overpriced
The new Z400 looks like a winner
Anyone here from Australia?
Holden’s are hard to find in the USA
I just dont think the new z fits in right
Why not? The Camaro is dead, and they need a good affordable coupe
I’d get one if I was looking for something in the mustang- Z370 Camaro ish speed
More looking for the BRZ or Miata
Im more into econo boxes and wedge cars
Then the Z cars aren’t for you
I’m the opposite corvettes, the BRZ, BMW Z4, Mazda MX5 are my style
Im more thinking yaris camry focus 5.7 challenger etc
Camry is always solid choice, but the Corolla is more fuel efficient. The hatchback won't sacrifice much cargo capacity vs a Camry either
I'm in the "anything Toyota except SUV" camp lol
just depends on what you need
errrr, honestly the new hatchback may have a smaller trunk than the Camry.
oh, no. A bit bigger. 🤔
hatchbacks have the advantage of being able to stack things where a sedan has limited cargo stacking ability
Corolla HB trunk is fairly shallow.
And slope of the rear glass doesn't help. Then again, unlike the Civic, the Corolla HB is an actual compact.
tastes like beemer design with a weird badge on it/10
what is this?
MY05 Subaru liberty (legacy) with ... many mods. all the usual crap. big turbo, EJ207, brembos, E85, whole bunch of interior crap.
bonnet is from an outback with custom vents, front is JDM
Didn’t that sell on DuPont registry
oh really? i didn't know
Could’ve
Time to pick this up tomorrow and get it tuned later on
I heard the 2.0 tfsi get's a nice extra kick from just a tune
2.0 TFSI is a power plant yeah, tunes nicely
are those ea113 or ea888?
Not sure on that but the car is a 2005 A3
@civic girder
Its more of a tire size thing for performance with camry over corolla also bigger brakes
The challenger i like the lighter motor would probably get supercharged
Focus cuz focus
Yaris = rally car
Thing is i want to get into manufacturing of high performance product packages for cars
The challenger is an outdated platform. Shits over a decade old, the tech is ancient
The focus isn't amazing, and unless you live in Europe it's dead anyways
The Yaris is also dead, and it's a Mazda 2 anyway
But the thing about Camry vs Corolla is that you can easily negate the tire size and brake size issue with some fairly easy diy upgrades. The Camry weighs more, so personally I'd go for the Corolla in this application
The focus won't be any lighter than the Corolla, and the challenger will be pretty heavy as well
Challengers also aren't known for their cornering ability
You also have the Corolla Apex Edition and Camry TRD anyways, so they're great starts
And the sad fact of the matter is, no one actually wants real high performance packages anymore
They either want a sports car or a commuter. It's sad that we won't really have stuff like the Mazdaspeed 3 anymore, but that's just how it is
Its not about not wanting its about not being able to afford good competition cars due to dealers and manufacturers thinking they have something specieal
No it's not something people want
Why are you buying a Camry?
To drive to and from work
Why do I want a sports Camry
Because youre now a dad but dont want to let got of your teenage racing days
Fact is, if you're a dad chances are you don't have much choice
Exactly
What
Yeah you can get an extra 50 hp out of them
"Its just a camry" sells better than "this super fast car its the fastest they make"
Im more a Fan of actual tuning tho
You could say that when buying a Mazdaspeed 3 or Focus RS, so it doesn't matter.
The focus rs has one of the most advanced awd systems currently being made
Speed3 was fastest car mazda made at the time
Yes, but you could play it off as "it's just a Mazda 3
Well yeah
You can also put an m3 as it’s just some old bmw
Still gapping some new amgs
It would be like trying to sell the trx as "just a ram 1500" or the raptor as "just an f150"
Yea
Tbf the 1500 only has 400 hp
And the big problem with all these special versions of cars: they're overpriced for what most people are looking for. They're niche
If you want a truck, what's the point in getting a TRX or Raptor if you don't have cash to burn
Yeah same with my modded 650
That was totally the focus RSs problem
It’s a super nice car but it’s really too expensive for what it is
Bingo
That's why performance specs are dying
It's all specifically sporty models now
Oh yes 50-60k car right
A bit more lmao
Oh wait thats only because thats what the dealers were selling them for
Mine was 144.520€ retail
Realistically how many STis are sold in comparison to regular WRXs?
I can tell you rn I wouldn't even consider the STi over a regular WRX
It was only $5k over base msrp of a focus
Hey isn’t “Lexus IS” better choice than a Camry or Accord?
I recently spent 7.7 on an 26 year old bmw, even that is overpaying
Lexus IS has an old engine tho
I mean it’s a good engine, but it’s old
It depends on how luxurious you want to be and how much money you have
Imo the Lexus is300 is just the better Supra
Camrys and Accords are nice but Lexus is waaaay nicer
However
The Lexus is like $13k more
2.0T Accords are also pretty damn fast
And a good base to mod
The 1.6L Accord is a joke though. I'm glad they neutered that trim
But they aren’t good in Europe due to lack of spare parts
People in the us always explaining about the service price on bmws and Mercedes, well all the stuff gets shipped from Europe
Same as dodges for example are really not possible to own in Europe
whats wrong with a 1.6 accord :^(
The problem with German cars is they are designed to not be serviceable by the consumer
The engine
tis good enough
The new ones yes
Civic engine in a larger chassis that weighs a lot more
But to be fair I was able to rebuild the whole exhaust system including turbos and the whole intake in my own in my 2016 bmw
Old ones are significantly harder to work on compared to other cars, so it's a similar problem
Not really, the e36 is famous for even people who don’t know much being able to swap whole engines out
There are more engine swapped e36 in Germany than stock ones
I can agree with both of these points
Like I said I paid 7.7 for mine
Wich is too much
Definitely
A lot of cars suffer from overhype driving up costs for no reason
Ahem Supra
$8k for a good condition old BMW sounds fine to me. It is still a old luxury car at the end of the day
I got a beat up mk3 for 7.8 about half a year ago, has a 2j in it with 270k km on the clock and does not run at all
Now that's terrible
This is it, it’s rebuilt and engine swapped
Still it’s an 26 year old car
I mean, my 26 year old Toyota is worth $2.5k on a good day
I sold my golf mk2 for 3k
My other 26 year old Toyota is worth $4k
But only cause it’s a Certified Classic
Car value and the car market is impossible to understand
And well it only had 2 owners and not even 60k miles
Overhyped cars cost that much because the people that want them are willing to pay
A mk1 with the same specs is worth about 25 in Germany
Yeah I’m part of the problem
Objectively speaking are they worth that much? No.
But if people will pay, then technically they are
I’m actually looking forward to buying my first car within a couple of months. My Choices are BMW 1992 E36 1.8 litre (not M series)($8,000) or Honda Accord 2 litre($6,500) Price by my country.
Cause as stupid as it sounds, give a young person a lot of money and he spends it in a dumb way
People will pay a lot for something they wish they had
The irony is afterwards they realize they're stupid
Nah I already knew I’m stupid
Id get the accord if it was me. More reliable, easier to service.
And cheaper
I'm stupid, but in the right ways
I’ve spent an extend amount on cars in the past year, could have bought a house
I've spent like $10k total on cars in my entire life. I own 4 and have only ever owned 4
My saab has been nice other than potentially having to pay 40 euros in shipping for small clips
Currently on 8
i guess thats brexit for me :^)
I plan to be able to collect cars in the near-ish future
Nice advice but I was surprised how rear this cars were in my country, even the 1995 Accord
My biggest issue is parking space
I don’t know the exact total amount but it’s somewhere close to 600 grand probably, to be fair I’m still paying off about 250 of that and that includes a payment I haven’t made yet
I can easily afford 80% of the cars I want
I have the luck of having a big driveway
Yea that's what I need
I have place for about 10 cars in my driveway
Id really like an aventador sv
Or a Murcielago sv gated 6 speed
I can fit 4 :^|
Unfortunately have to tough it out and save for a big house in the countryside eventually
House isn't a concern for me right now
I need more shitbox Toyotas
I could park more on the street i just dont want to be an arse to my neighbours
House is a huge concern for me right now. I have no space to live at the current moment
My room is full of shit and I lack parking space for even my 4 cars, even worse I lack an actual place to work on my cars
Plan to rent a place that will remedy my problems soon
Big driveway, I have 3 of those
My problem is the size of my garages
I have a car that I need to park at a friends shop cause it’s too wide
Technically only these two are mine but I have the luck of my neighbors not owning cars
I dont even have a house
I live with my parents
But I’m totally fine with that
Props to my parents Tbh
Cause they the reason I can afford my cars, they let me live at theirs
I feel that
I just have no choice right now
Not enough cash and the housing market is dog shit
Nope, that's 2009-2013
Same generation
Can’t remember the visual difference between the pre facelift and facelift
Same generation of car, yes
Yet used a different engine pre and post facelift
And can be easily distinguished by the different shaped headlights and more modern looking DRL
that aint big, THIS is a big driveway
Queues up 60x80 driveway
im a silly boi but a lucky one. I started my car in gear like a clown while parked maybe 6 inches away from the saab
those 6 inches were very much closed but didnt hit
usually i park closer but decided to leave a bit of my car on the footpath so i could walk around the saab else it would of been an instant bonk
likely wouldnt of been any damage but still silly
That looks like a jeep had a baby with a firebird
The #ToyotaCorolla family is growing for 2022. This is the #ToyotaCorollaCross, a new sub-compact SUV built on the same TNGA-C platform as the Corolla and Lexus UX. Unlike the C-HR, the #CorollaCross will offer AWD and more trunk and interior space with a design that blends both Highlander and RAV4, it goes on sale this Fall.
We're also on:
In...
Corolla Cross is confirmed. For the people who want a Corolla, but taller, and a C-HR, but less stylish.
Does get the better engine tho, and AWD.
I love the aesthetic of this picture
Liminal
Very much so
I own two different 1995 models and a 2009
Yea, it is pretty liminal.
Photo is obviously taken in 2021, but the location and subjects + the look of the photo grain (that's unedited and unfiltered btw) give it the look of a photo straight from the 90s
first time using an actual camera, i gotta learn how to properly use this thing, first picture has blur edited in post

i found out that one of my family's old friend/relative was going to give me his old cars after i get my drivers license next year. one of the cars was a 1982 Lada Zhiguli 1300S (2105) :)
Damn that's cool
I'm also getting an old car when i get my drivers license
mercedes w123 if i remember correctly
@civic girder I know a guy who owns like 15 pre 2000s corolla lemons
And a caldina gt4
Craziest dude I ever met
87 civic dx sedan for 700, should I buy
borrowed a mahoosive makita impact off my friend, that thing was lovely to have
overkill for me, and very expensive. Want to get a cheaper impact soon but still something that is semi decent.
I'll probabbly get the Ryobi R18ID3-0 because I already have other tools from them
but the makita equivalent would be more basic/less featured at the same price
Dm me car hub vids
@merry plover
That looks cool
I spotted a lotus elise
I stole the whole collection once
Old meme
how much does a good e36 or e46 cost
very dependent on where one resides
About 3
30k?
Idk xD
this is going for £800 by a guy I know, which would be great if I didnt have this needy 900NG
Ofcourse when I buy a car a bunch of interesting shit appears heh
I like the 900NG just have to finish up some uni work for the 9th then i can fix it and do many many miles
I did 30k on my focus already
but sadly I need to do some repairs if I want to go abroad
I never really did big journeys in the Mazda 2 for the fun of it, Didnt really connect with the car
Probably because the thing gave me spinal damage if the road wasnt 100% smooth
I really go on very long journeys
but I need a longer seat for my car because they are too short
and my last 16 hour trip shows
I love the saab seats, Get absorbed into them, the mazda 2 seats are basically rocks compared to them.
but I wonder if I can legally have different cars seats
ford seats are meh
but my rear is just so soft
I really need new struts If I want go fast
worthwhile investment if you are going to hold onto the car
I wouldnt bother if you arent going to keep it for the next few years
I mean I drive a lot and I need for work and go abroad because I have no other option and it's reiable
I would actually hold it on as long as I can
If you are willing to pay for the welding it needs and what not then sure
The 2's suspension is rock solid whereas i can actually move the saabs by leaning on the car.
makes the 2 fun to drive when the road is of good quality but id rather a bit more comfort.
270 eur doesn't sound that big of a investemnt
all adds up
replacing the right sill and new struts
if the 270 eur includes new struts eh
I mean cheap replacements, but eh
cheap replacements really arent worth it
I really don't have that much savings to invest in the car.
would get better ones when I have a proper job
also won't pass inspection with the struts leaking oil like crazy
Here I can just get an astra estate or some GM shite for £400-600 if needs be. Wouldnt throw too much money at a old focus estate
RHD cars depreciate faster than LHD cars 😉
people keep buying RHD cars because these are cheap
Also, when buying a "new" cheap car you also don't know what you'll get, might be some work/problems arising on that soon as well
but insurance is like 4x
Kek
5.3 ls straight pipe inbound the guy at the parts store is quitting in a week and knows some Freinds so have me a 30% discount and is installing it for free for is YouTube
Dm me more if you guys have any
My check engine is gone for a while nie
But also the issue I used to have when engine was cold but air was warm it had issues keeping stable rpm on idle
And it had bad throttle response from low reva
Its good when your fuel pump isnt fucked. 30,000kPa is where it should be at idle. Around 4,000Psi
ok
these are quite common cars lmao
IS THAT A MIATA
Yeah, the one based off Ken miles Daytona car
thats actually sick bro
Owner was super cool, told the whole story of allocating it and driving it out to the show
Straight pipe from earlier and then a burnout on private property with permission from the property’s owner
sounds like an engine
No need to be an ass about it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leBgkSd8BK8 I remember when a few people got angry that Ford wasn't doing hub motors.

how was that being an ass
No clue, and I don't think more coffee is going to help.
yeah and for vettel and gasly
vettel really struggeled before monaco
now he is 1 with the car
there was a Sandero? and I thought the Logan was funny
lmao
Proof that Corvettes are really good at everything.
She needs a bath badly
is it possible to install custom firmware on subaru headunits to avoid having to go to the dumb dealer which wont let u update
or can u just use a us version software on an australian unit
I doubt anyone has bothered to crack factory headunits
Also not recommended to mix regional software.
all this for a O ring
Love the sport turismo wagons
did you guys see the dacia in the 24hrs nurburgring
Damn
car
That one cool chiron
Sexy
I was wrong. It was the Logan. I just always think of the Sandero because of dang Top Gear.
heh, it deserves the win
Reminds me back when Chris Harris entered a rally with a GT86.
If you want higher chances of winning. Enter a class of one.
Id love to do a shitbox endurance race like lemons, But i certainly cant afford anything outside of the UK
requirement: part worn 10 year old tyres
Here in Sweden we have some who race shit boxes.
Theres alot of banger racing here but you really have to properly set up cars for that
I know a guy with one of these
i saw one of those on a truck like 2 days ago
can oil leaks be caused by using wrong oil?
suppose in the case of engine oil you could end up with a higher pressure if you used something that wasnt thick enough
power steering absolutely
Ill probably be a liqui moly shill soon enough
owner manual say I should use 5w-30
I mean id stick to what your owners manual says on relatively modern cars
it's old, and also says 5w-40 and 10w-40 can be used
and what type of oil does not matter
just gives some compatibility certificates
your oil leak is probably normal with the age / mileage of your car
I got that lego senna
i always tell my father to stay far away from driver's course vehicles when i see one
even when the instructor drives them they still tend to be pompous and drive like butt
Depends on the instructor I guess
true though
I was with a pretty nice independent guy, see him about all the time in the area
Nice I got a cheap non-GTR 2 hours ago
For broke kids
It's Lego's cheaper line of car models
I mean yeah, but 13 euros for a Senna is surprisingly cheap for Lego's standards
13 euros?
Yeah
that's cheap actually
Ikr
Indeed
I only have some cast matchbox like cars and my shitbox
I want my lego crate back
I'm saving up to fix my shitbox
Yeahhh xD
and go abroad if I can
I remember 2 celicas
Cheapest shitbox with pop-up headlights
one tne that was being towed and other that was drinking oil
I don't know what was the milage of that one
my car has 300k km and doesn't eat oil yet
but it leaks
What place-
crankshaft seal
That's very much not fun
my clutch burned up and I said to replace everything just to be safe
probably it was it's 2nd or 3rd clutch
You forgot the documents at one of your previous places?
I think I lost it
focus mk1 1.8 v16
the engine seems to be bulletproof
At least that
transmission is running very smooth
had only replace halfshaft seal because it broke
new clutch and battery
Yep
and tires
Makes sense
I've already went trough 3 sets of tires
I mean the ones I got on my car when I bought were used up
Wow
and then the winter tyres I got used they were pretty much used up, but still good enough to drive and pass safety inspection
Yeah
and the other tyres I bought just went bad
Poor tires
now I have a winter set on Steelies and summer set on alloys
That's nice
ik nothing about cars and i want to learn about them, where do i start
Just delve in tbh
and it has working AC
I tried finding a way to start learning about cars but
It's all connected to eachother
is there like a certain website or something to learn at first
YouTube's always good
ok cool
Donut media is a nice car channel
you can always get a book or something
ill check it out
yea imma look into that too
thanks
we actually just got a new minivan
ty
thanks
Engineering Explained is also good channel
ight ill check it out
tysm guys
Very much so
honestly i dont even remember how i got started with pcs lol
even thiugh it was a year ago

He actually has a playlist for people new to cars
Basically anything of him that has "guide" in the title is pretty nice to get to know shit
Enjoy

Thinking of adding fake M badges 😏
I present to you: the BMW 328i xDrive F30 with the M-sport trim shadowline
Might just be me, but badge tuning just is not my thing,
i was being sarcastic, but im with you on that one
feel like M badging would just ruin the look
But she do be looking pretty spiffy
Agree
i could pass her off as an M340i and nobody would notice
put a rs6 badge on it
I am not that great with the technicals of newer beemers, but have the all become boring 4-bangers by this point?
the base ones yeah, with turbos. tbf it’s been that way for over a decade now and i’ve got no problems with it
i had an older E90 and i loved her
Yeah, it seems to be the future, cant stop it
i just can’t agree with the latest M3 and M4
oh, not to mention fake engine sound played through speakers
But again, if it pulls and makes the right noises, i guess it's fine.
Wonderful noises coming through my speakers there
what’s more is that it’s a straight 4 turbo 😩
yes
the fact that it can make that kinda noise is beyond me
Yup, they have got it pretty dialed
only revved 3K because i was scared it would vomit gas all over my phone
I work in events, and an artist once showed up in an i8, damn you can do a lot of good stuff with speakers
oh yeah for sure
Noiceee. I have a 335i E90. Great cars (Apart from when they break and they cost 2020 BTC money)
i loved our old E90 328i. unfortunately it was totaled in an accident (not our fault
)
thats funny, our E90 nor did our F30 had any problems whatsoever in the 8 years we drove the E90 and 6 years we drove the F30 (aside from a singular cracked turbo which was fixed for free)
I've heard bmw turbos tend to have problems, is that true or did I get bad info
Ni||ce ca||r
Damn got me there
that the bmw?
Hit or miss honestly. When they work, they work like a charm. when we bought ours certified pre-owned, they found a crack in the turbo but it was replaced for free so I can’t really complain
The G80 M3 can't live up to our expectations from the M3 badge when the G20 3-series it's based on barely resembles a 3-series.
Or can it?

Nice
I imagine the new ones will live up to expectation better than the last few generations.
Then again... what does r/cars expect?
I want a bikes channel, or can I share a video of my bike in here too?
I think you can
Well it says share a pic of your ride... And since it's the only ride I have...
Here's my ride
I’ve spent the past 2 years working on the n54 platform. It’s a fickle thing but when everything is right in its world, amazing engine.
My wastegate flapper rattles around like a rattle snake in a tin can X2 (Twin turbo) but ive got another set of turbos being rebuilt atm
Oh fuck no why
I actually will probably make some car content on the rebuilding/install of new turbos with the car club i run in australia/the workshop my best mate runs. Still learning how to shoot and edit, but I do it all my self: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEx2_XI9HeY + www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJ6WQ60N1eI
After last years event up at MTA in Wodonga (Victoria, Australia) was sooooo good, the guys plus 25 of our best car buds ventured back ou to hit the track.
The day was sick! Weather was amazing, and there was SOOOOOOOOOO MUCHHHHHHH TRACK TIME!!!!!
We can't wait to hit the track again soon. Probly Winton, Sandown, or Broadford - As well as some ...
Just like that one guy said.
"Just. Do. It."
mmm
I'd like to get a 944 at some point i think, hopefully their prices arent insane by the time im in a position to get one 😅
currently £7k for one with 250k miles....

What car would be good for 5000 euro? (Germany)
depending on what you want?
944 turbos are becoming more appreciated now
Love the wheels
Oh lol
i think im just gonna buy a golf IV
or ford/opel
it's gonna be my first car so i don't really want something fancy
if you can find them in good condition then go for it
Corsa D 👀
we used to have astra H with 1.7 CDTI
I like the look of the car, but engine had constant issues
my mom has astra j, everything is working fine
and i was thinking about astra H, i like the look of it
I would not buy the DIESEL tho
GTC
but also IDK how is the domestic car market from germany
im acutally from Poland
oh
but the cars in germany ar in better condition than here
a lot of cars from Germany ar getting imported to Poland
"better" condition
I'm from here too, but generally cars imported from germany are ran down
Yea, but if you buy them there from the 1'st owner they're in a very good condition
way better than in Poland
I bught my ford from 4th owenr
It's hard to find something like an Astra H, which is atleast 12 years old, from a first owner
it has 300k km on it, and beside engine leaking oil and a hole in the sill the car drives fine
and some normal wear
i was thinking about golf IV
I personally don't like the ford focus mk2
For 5k? Way too much
you can buy a focus mk1 for 5k PLN
Ah lol
nah mk1 is too old
and i don't like the look of it
my friend has focus mk2 hatchback and it's pretty nice tbh
hah
at least my car never broke down and left me stranded
only 2 things that happened was the control arm bending and starter motor seized
Why not get something Fiesta/Polo/Corsa/... sized?
i'm a big guy
I have plenty of space in zhe Corsa 👀 I'm 1m94
oh
remembers when I could not even get in the corsa C
THONK
it was C
need to think
not D
Ah yes C is way smaller
D is quite spacious
Especially the 3d
i'm on a Polish site where they sell cars, most of them are from Germany 🥴
https://www.otomoto.pl/oferta/ford-focus-salon-polska-1-6-benzyna-ID6DSC5Q.html#9c6d106417 this looking pretty good ngl
Damn that's a chea[ trim, not even radio controls on the steeringwheel or accent colors or something 👀
But doesn't look too shabby
Howmany € is that?
2400
Ah that's not too bad then
yea
LOL this was sent to you??
nah, guy I know. but this is the average experience when selling old mildly interesting / obscure cheap cars here
person I bought the saab off was ready to give up with the clowns and timewasters he was getting
honestly i prefer the MV over an AE86
I guess stock id prefer an MV and modified an AE86
but isn't it originally bought in Poland?
Yea this is
I searched for cars that were bought in Poland
mine was bought in poland too, even if I'm the 5th owner
at least engine and transmission are in good condition if you ignore leaking crankshaft seal
This looks lit
Yea this gonna be my first car so i dont really wanna spend lot's of money but I wanna buy something that wont be broken all the time
I always disliked the inrerior in the MK2
looks like they tried to make it look like german car but with the "new edge" style
or maybe because I'm used to my interior
If I could be honest
I didn't really care how my car looks (even if my mother does)
But this is looking very goooooood
I just care that it can drive me 1500 km to and back
Yea

if I get to do that trip this year
I'll probably won't have time because I'm late with my documents
but at least If survived a trip from Toruń to Koszalin and then from Koszalin to Kraków and then from Kraków to Toruń
after like spilling half of the oil trough the oil cap that popped off
Lol
It was quite a trip
Yea it had to be fun
the un-fun part was basically getting off the A1 and driving on the main road
and road works on the A1 towards Kraków
same here
it was hell to drive truck when half of the road was closed
and nobody was directing traffic
Traffic jams most of the day
basically I created a 2 km traffic jam
LOL
but there was no way to accelerate fast enough in such heavy vehicle
I'll have to think about the car and make a good choice
the ford with the engine I have is apparently reliable
but the engine dates back to like 1990s
Yea
and basically same car
Fabia/octavia and im good
I only drove passat B6 and I didn't enjoy driving it
Or even a ford fiesta wouldnt be that bad
and the astra H I drove was a total disaster
But a passanger wouldnt be able to sit behind me
but it was because engine and suspension was basically gone
cries in 2004 yaris
Yaris isnt that bad
I enojoyed driving it in my driving school
But it was a newer one
I don't really fit well in the new ones
my legs constantly rub against the steering wheel
I kind of have the same problem in my moms astra J
But im big so that might be the cause
the old yaris I have the steering wheel way too far away
I could say same with my focus, but it's not that bad
but I would need a longer seat
the ammout of leg space behind me in 2004 yaris
I could fit behind my self in my focus
but it would be uncomfortable for long journey
No kids around me
maybe shorter peole
like 1.7 meter tall fit there comfortably enough
but I also keep my spare between the seats
Who doesnt
Alright imma head out, need to wake up in 7h
Have a nice night
And day
And life
rain closeups are the best
hole
Finally got through that wreck
Three helicopters total
Two hours of standstill
And so far 2 fatalities
wait wha?
I was near paducah kentucky and traffic came to a standstill
No service
There's one of the helicopters that came in
Landed right on the interstate
what wreck?
big hole
ouch F.
i painted some other random bits so they dont get suspicious of the one painted area when doing the inspection heh
why did I think that was some sort of discount painting
I mean oil painting
I cant drive the car anywhere and feck am i towing it to get a little bit of welding
metal reinforced filler adequate
at least my focus got inspection before my sill totally came off my car
I need to call my local bodywork shop to just cut it and replace it
the sills are really good on this car but they dont get chipped as it has plastic covers
I could get them
I don't have inspections where I live
I think my neighbour has them
cries in europe
I dont mind inspections its just when you cant drive the car anywhere for repairs :^(
it is the buying a car with no MOT experience though
I specifically looked for stuff without MOT as wanted the experience of getting a car close to being scrapped back on the road
We scrap good cars for much minor things here :^(
menwhile Poland
I think my focus is roadworthy, but I see people driving cars that are worse than buying a wreck from a junkyard
outside of the cars the shitbox professional I know has my saab is probably the shittest thing ive seen in ages
and it isnt even that shit
The audi a3 that my not so very friend anymore is so shit
Basically suspension is gone, floor has big holes, and sils are gone, wheel arches have holes, engine is drinking oil and coolant
He needs to pull over every 100 km and check for oil and coolant level
the oldest car I have seen this year is a 2002 outside of people I know and my cars
I rarely see anything older than 2007
oldest car I've seen was something over 25 years old
but I can't recall what car it was
but it had those special license place for old cars
have to be like 40 year old for them here heh
not that people dont follow the rules
40 year rolling date*
the oldest car I've seen was FSO 125p around my area
or Polski Fiat 125p
and also this Fiat 125p
guy i know has a Fiat 124 with a "lada racing engine" swapped
"lada racing engine"?
cant remember its some built engine from a lada
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WH-Cnd88yO4 I didn't know you could get more concerning than sidecar racing.
Sidecar Motocross GP in Roggenburg(Switzerland) 27.08.2017
with two crashes.
- Valentin Griraud / Elvijs Mucenieks(9)
- Etienne Bax / Nicolas Musset(82)
- Koen Hermans / GAALEN Kenny van Gaalen
Great music by FayMaks - Don Stop
So why not sidecar motocross?
just trying my luck out here. Anyone know citröens at all? especially a 2005 c4
We had a Peugeot 307, same car underneath. Does that count? 😛
no suspension play advisories!
Just gotta fix those brake lines.
Yeah. Screw having cars that are fit for being on the roads.
Most cars pass the inspections. And what usually fail on them is bad tires, worn bushings, rotors, pads, etc.
Depends on what. Some stuff you can get away with.
Government doesn't like modifications that change the emissions.
Mods are fine with out inspections
Inspection only requires the bare minimum lol, if it can't pass that there's something not right with the car
My car is slightly lowered. And it passed inspection.
If you're afraid your car will fail inspection, you should be afraid driving it
Basically, yeah.
we usually just fix things for it to pass
I've had to sort out my bushing on my car.
Something people wouldn't bat an eye at. Normally.
@stoic ledgevery critical question
should i buy a 75cc kit or a very expensive 70cc kit
All the bushings are screwed on the Honda, I believe it is getting scrapped this year though

Disappointed there's no 69cc kit
i mean
i got an 69.80cc kit now

Tuning Kit 2Fast 70cc Derbi Euro3 buy from Maxiscoot ✓ fast shipping ✓ expert support

I dont think they quite compare
With how bad rust is here and the number of small city cars using torsion beam suspension that can easily rust around the bushing and completely detach the rear axle from the car
Probably a good idea to have an inspection for it
Wouldnt say thats the case here
It drives unsafe cars off the roads.
If you are unwilling to pay the money to purchase a vehicle that meets basic safety standards then I dont really want to share the road with you to be honest.
Some are oblivious and drive around like this. And this is one part that they are dealing with.
I like shitboxes but Ill happily fix anything that is majorly wrong with them
man. that kit costs more than my car
low production engine parts do be spensive
... Okay then.
Let them drive like that until they have no brakes at all.
Nature will sort it out.
Yeah. But the thing is that we can prevent it.
What if you buy a 10 year old car? What dealer will tell you to replace the brakes?
When will they tell you that? They have no idea about the condition of your car. It's not like you ever take it in for service or anything. Because that's a money grab.
A person bought a car from another private party. They needed something to get to/from work. And that's all they care about.
And guess what. The majority of drivers are oblivious to the maintenance of a car.
Many inspections cant be done without a lift
🤡
tell that to the person who was killed by a fiesta losing its rear axle.
Those brakes that I showed you. Those are fine to drive on. Up until they are not. And it will be so gradual that won't notice.
Now buy a Tesla model X.
It's the same with people with bald tires.
Few people notice when their brakes go unbalanced
Or tired that are cracked to hell and back.
Pft. ABS will sort that out.
Not really
Yeah. I know.
That's the thing. The majority of people hate driving.
But they NEED to drive. That's why they do it.
I love cars leaking large amounts of oil and coolant. But you know they still drive fine right?
Screw motorcyclists and any animals / pets.
This isnt about reliability
Reliability is basically untested at a inspection
Just gotta refill that stuff. Water is good enough. Even when it becomes freezing.
or they care about your balljoint not popping out when you go over a bump flying into a pedestrian.
or you know being able to perform an emergency stop
So you're suggesting that they let the car deteriorate until the point of being in an accident.
That's some incentive to get a new car.
if it happens even 10 times a year why not aim to stop it
which is
Plenty of cheap good cars here
£400 for an Astra which meets basic safety inspections
We're not talking about cars being, or not being safe from the factory.
We're talking about wear items.
Or do you suggest that people just get carbon ceramic brakes? That will slow down the wear, for sure.
And replace all rubber bushings with solid mounts.
dont see where safety inspections come into this
balljoint worn > replace balljoint: keep old car
I really have no words.
your point?
Inspections are there to warn you about stuff that you may not notice yourself.
What? How?
having to maintain your vehicle to a reasonable standard costs an amount of money yes
truly amazing
If you cannot afford to keep a vehicle that does not endanger others on the road well its that simple. You can not drive it on the road.
Maybe you shouldn't be driving if you can't afford to maintain it 🤔
buh muh rights
Idk, I spend way more every year in taxes, insurance and fuel instead of maintenance
you dont fail a MOT for a little rust
Depends on what part, structural or just bodypanels
My car had some rust on its brake lines. Didn't fail. They just gave me a head's up about it.
A little rust implies there is no hole / cannot be dented with finger pressure
Driving is a privilege, not a right 😉
if a structural component can be dented with finger pressure or have a hole put in it then its more than a little rust
