want something i can learn on and not be mad when i time it wrong and blow it up
Peugeot 106
MX5 is also very good for that
Engines are £200
Gearbox is like £50
ive considered a nb mx5 but itd be useful to have more space
What’s your use for the car
learn on and potentially replace my current car
Any track or fast B road driving?
good handing would be nice but im not too picky
im considering a low spec engine E46 touring
decent chunk of stuff to maintain, im sort of looking for a pain
ill keep the mazda 2 unless i happen to get the e46 reliable
main reason i wont really do work on any of the cars in use
Shame you can’t really have a cheap RWD JDM project car these days
Drift tax killed them off
my friend has a e36 touring which id like but much harder to get than a e46
drifting has done a number on his
it has a MOT still
Stevie wonder doing the MOT
Not huge on his choice of wheels
There’s some idiot with an e36 saloon on my road
He’s got mismatched wheels and also painted the fronts pink?
looks horrific
Complete cop magnet
he did the rear bushings in his old high schools rear parking lot
Oh no
no one stole the diff was left there a day or two
Most people don’t look at a car with mismatched colours and think anything’s worth stealing

bonnet was red aswell but spray painted
the car only has 100k miles on it
want to get a dual action polisher
probably quite the trek from central scotland
Small but ever growing arsenal of products
There’s more that aren’t in that photo and I’ve bought more since 🤣
e39's are going more than e46's here at the moment somewhat cheaper too
Hahaha
F
if you want my recommendation for any car cleaning products go straight for P&S btw
Their shampoo is perfect and reasonably priced
might, would only really benefit my car
dads car has clearcoat peel i think from the sheer amount of bird shit
Haha
There’s a good product for that (I don’t own it)
Think it’s called dry rinse?
maybe too far gone now
Love that my car switched to lpg on a sharp turn
I fricking lost control for 2 seconds
Really reconsidering
i seen a couple of the old yaris gr's here
Also I need to fix that play in the throttle
dont think they are called gr's
done any trackdays?
I guess I own one too? 🤣
Nah
Had one booked December
Got cancelled due to Covid
theres only really one proper track in Scotland
Rebooked it for April
charge like £300 a day
yeah i live near there
they are killing off e46 compacts which is a good thing i guess
why couldnt they just keep the same frontend
theres lots of drift car e46's for sale round here. id like something i can properly insure though so i can drive it elsewhere without getting immediately beamed by the police
That’s my issue with the MX5
The Cupra I can mod to all hell as my insurer loves modifications
The MX5 is insured with a not so friendly company
All I want to do is KW coilovers and upgraded arms etc
Definitely don’t rice the outside police will hate you
Boutta get a 2010 nissan ultima for 3k.
What should I do to it and all of its 110 HP glory?
Ultima? The ultimate Nissan?
paints too nice
Its like a flat grey
Audi Nardo Grey probably
was really popular a few years back
people were painting everything Nardo Grey
You know better than I, still a great looking truck though
Its a "refurbished" 1973 Ford Bronco
Though, its more of a full rebuild and restore if anything
what car do you guys recommend as a first car?
Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic.
CiViC
Corolla, Civic, CR-V, Rav4, or anything similar to any of those 4
is the civic the fastest out of all of those (type R)?
you're funny
Surely the type r civic is faster than a corolla or rav4
Maybe not a top end CRV
Bro, this question and answer has nothing to do with the Type R
This is about cheap shitboxes for first cars
HONDA FIT FROM 2013
OHHHHHHHHHH THEN YEAH all of them are fine
Yaris is expensive, get an Agya/Ayla they're less than $10k new
Yaris are cheap as fuck in the US
In the US its under 20k
new?
Yaris is also big ded in the US
you can't get them new anymore
or do we have one more gen of the Mazda 2 rebadge
Yep
Leaving the Versa, Mirage, and the Koreans as the last sub 20K cars
And apart from the Mirage... decent choices
GM wishes it was
You do have a point
I'd rather have a Mirage
and personally I'd argue the Versa isn't much better than the Mirage
Mirage only outputs like 64 HP no
The Accent isn't completely awful at least
The new generation is much better
is it still CVT?
Nissan and CVT don't go in the same sentence
unless you also include class action lawsuit
^ yes
CVT WRX
Absolutely horrendous
Luckily there's a manual option
(not the they are affordable here, €100k
)
All CVT WRXs here are driven by short women somehow vaping and on their phone at the same time in stop and go traffic
Had to drive lorry with trailer that had flat Tyre
Hey sexy.
milwaukee and bosch are great
lucky
LMAO true
Milwaukee fuel is god tier
Shame you need to remortgage your house to buy any of it
ehh ig
i feel like ive had better experiences with bosch than makita
but milwaukee is truly top tier
#cars I Wanna Thanks to everyone who made it possible for for me to reach 1k sub
I found bosh proffesional is super expensive
and people tell to stay away from bosh green
people tell me that dewalt is also very good but it's expensive
I got ryobi
Ryobi R18PD3 4 Ah + 2 Ah 18 V
paid like 115 euros inc shipping
my brother uses parkside tools for work
Is dewalt expensive?
I thought it’s pretty cheap here
Ryobi is decent too
I’m about to buy into an ecosystem just can’t decide which
I found ryobi had a decent price and it has a lot of werd things tthat could be useful
meybe depends on the tools I'm looking
I'll probably go Milwaukee.
if u have money
I have money
AS someone who has invested in the DeWalt ecosystem, cannot complain about the tools but regret not going flexvolt or just going Milwaukee but it depend son what you are using them for and how frequently.
For 95% of people DeWalt, Etc are overkill..
I've heard DeWalt is really good
but I've invested in Ryobi
at least I can finally work on my car on parking lot
i just live without power tools for now, its painful for rusty bolts but less risk of breaking them i guess
Yeah Milwaukee is the way to go but expensive upfront cost
Not as bad as the 4 series gran coupe though
The sedan version of the coupe version of the sedan version
I just don't know why they call it a coupe though.
"low roof"
🅱️
lmao
IIRC they call one of their SUVs that too for probably the same reason
almost looks like a Mercedes, idk tho its hard to tell from this distance
Coupe really just means “less practical” now
Then again some cars are being made with a coupe version in mind...the new Audi Q3 Sportback has the same space as the regular one to the cargo cover
What’s a good affordable first car
@fathom socket Ryobi is like in the middle of the brand for quality tools
DeWalt and Milwaukee are the tops I reckon. Thats if ypu wanna pay like $450 for a 1/2 impact gun or angle grinder
@solar verge What kind of car are you looking for?
A car I'd easily recommend is a early 2000's Lexus es300. Decent power, fairly luxurious, and pretty cheap. It uses shared parts from the Toyota Camry, such as the engine, so it'll be pretty reliable also.
Tank
I wonder what an electric helicopter would sound like
exactly the same as a normal helicopter?!
Because the sound of the helicopter you hear from the outside is generated by the mechanical blades interacting with the air.
The larger the blades, the lower the sound.
when youre inside or the helicopter isnt flying, yeah then u can hear the engine.
Gonna be cool to see a lot of electric army equipment getting around
well, there are already battery-electric destroyers (ships) and main combat tanks.
I would like to have the upper left 😄
Top right looks sick tbh
Not neccessarily. IRL tanks do also not always have tracks despite having a high caliber gun.
It does need tracks indeed
Ground clearance is a big factor too
I just see it being hung up on everything from the long wheelbase
As long as you make the ground clearance lile 70cm i dont see a problem with that lol
I have been in one of those. Its the long wheelbase that throws it off
Thats the point. Tanks with high caliber guns dont need tracks^^
Wheels are more reliable then tracks for speed and distance
than tracks*
Actually yes
more traction with tracks/chains
traction is determined by contact area and applied pressure
Yes, and the surface it self
If you lower the tire pressure you get a lot of contact area and rubber is stickier than metal tracks
surface .. Thats the contact area u mean
Anyway i gtg to school now bye
But u know that there are also rubber tracks?
Because tanks need to be able to drive on roads without destroying them
im in school btw atm^^
Tracks dont last so they use these to get to the site. Mostly because those tanks use to much fuel
nah those suc
But its electric
Hello
who cares
Me
ok
The military does. Because the vehicles are much more silent and cooler without an internal combustion engine so they have a highly reduced signature.
Also its easier to deploy a power source/storage on-site than it is to deliver gasoline.
Also you can operate in many more environments like in serve cold or at high altitudes where ICE does fail due to lack of oxygen or freezing liquids
Like airplanes, which are effectively limited by the engine efficiency because of supplied oxygen of how they would rise.
RIP
the nurburgring has lost its queen
nah that one was coller
look at it
Thats matter of perspective. I do like the Cybertruck, but I also like me some good old ATV/Quad with a 14L Gasoline engine and much 'roar'
In case I ever get to get a Cybertruck, for sure I will use it along my gasoline quad. Need to compensate the missing noise and smell a bit at least. 😉
The CT for road and light off-road and the quad for everything else.
@solemn inlet fellow army trucker?
I see why cars that have r5 or v6 are luxury here
The tax is like 18.6% for engines bigger than 2l
I cant drive a truck with a big trailer either, but I drive a truck in the finnish army
I saw am army truck with a pathetic looking little trailer
I think they had an ATV i think
It was so tiny
What do you guys think of the TRX, better than raptor?
Ugly? Idk new stuff looks so weird now
all the bmw's indicating today meanwhile a riced out zafira and your usual crossover people ehh
The first-ever BMW i4 is designed with heritage, passion, and the future in mind.
The BMW i4 combines optimized aerodynamics, a balanced weight distribution, and an all-electric drivetrain for an extraordinary performance. While at the same time, it is an ideal companion for long-distance journeys - with a range of up to 590 km*.
Get to know th...
seriously BMW?
Decent anount of metal in my old oil :^(
F
probably my fault for doing stupid stuff on old oil
pretty stupid car park design really
a lot of people turn right on that no turn sign
What’s the problem
The 4 series is ugly as we all know, so might as well make it an EV to get those EV diehards into the brand because it looks different and stands out
All the new ones are like that i think
Engine wise, yes
But I still think raptor has the advantage in everything else
With the Baja racing experience
The TRX is essentially bespoke. I'd say they're pretty much on par.
🤔
Bye winter, hello shitty all season tires that at least have more grip
top gear top tip when exiting tescos onto the roundabout position right dont indicate left then turn left.
i am mad
Why does my brain automatically connect a red Mazda of that era with the rx8
My all sezon tyres have no grip
They just slide on rain water
And they are not round
Ah yeah Dougie boi talked about those on his more doug demuro channel about how they are #1 on his list of cars he would love to review
Looks like a Jeep with a body kit.
Today was st patricks day, guess I forgot to wear green
Was too busy driving this
Going to look at this
Anyways I have 3 green Volkswagens now
I swear it isn't intentional
I feel bad for you
So a Mazda can go that fast???
my friends rx7 spitting flames
ik u watch more doug demuro

Breaking down exactly what I've paid to own my Tesla Model Y over the course of one year. What's the true Model Y cost of ownership? What should you expect to pay? Let's get into it.
► Model Y One Year Review: https://yout...
Doubt anyone cares
but this guy had his model Y for a year, drove close to 15k miles, got 272 wH/mile
which equates to an average range of ~267 miles
then?
much less than the 315/324 that Tesla quotes
So Tesla lied like it likes to do?
Could just be the batteries degrading
Maybe a little, but not by too much in a year. A few percentage points maybe
What's shitty about the EPA test is that manufacturers choose the bloody numbers
so Tesla (and others, like Nissan, Peugeot, Polestar 2 etc)
have numbers way higher than their actual range
but the Taycan beats it by a lot
and the Mach-E tends to hit it, even with a lot of elevation changes, because the battery in it is so enormous
hmm
Shame the tesla is worse lol
Then again they have the charging network so
what a joke
This is why I don't touch mercis
or just don't live in a country without good rejection/lemon laws
true
@fringe lake I think the fact that it can hit over 250 miles in 15000 miles of real world driving is amazing - I ran some numbers, and that's what I'd need off an EV to make it so that I didn't have to increase the number of stops I'd take on road trips
apparently the case is fairly well known in poland yet mercedes don't care
I mean, 250 is only the beginning
Once we get 400/500+ is when the story can truly start
Think about it
NYC to Cali with only 6 stops to charge
I think I've told that before
Someone bought a brand new Mercedes that fell of the lorry
Got repainted
wild
@fringe lake I think faster charging is a big part of it as well. The 800/900V infrastructure the Taycan uses means it can dump a HUGE amount of electricity in not very long.
I think electric cars are not worth we're i live
That would make the difference for me. As I said - on a 300 mile road trip I'd stop at least once anyhow
Yeah, the charging time is a big issue
Gas? 10 min if you're taking it slow
Charging? An hour or more
So if you're on a 400 mile road trip for example and you have to stop once, that's no biggie
but if you have to stop for 45 minutes vs 15 minutes, that's a bigger dealbreaker for more people
yeah, like imagine spending 30 hours instead of 24 on a trip because of charging
Makes a much bigger difference in the states
I live in Bristol in the UK
even a trip to Inverness is only 530 miles
in 9 hours of driving
I'd stop for food twice on a 9 hour drive anyway
I think the biggest issue here would be cost and finding a working charging station
I think the issue is getting more stations out there
so if I had a 250 mile EV I could use 80% of a full charge (down to 20%), charge up with lunch back up to 80%, go back down to 20% again, charge back up to 80% with dinner and have made it all the way
If there is a station in every town, then EVs will become much more viable
The Tesla stations are everywhere, and most service stations in the UK have chargers, but they often aren't even 50kW
I think there should be at least every gas station
Surprisingly Tesla isn't everywhere yet
At least outside city
You won't find a station in a lot of states which should have them
I'll get a ev bike instead
The Tesla route planner from Bristol to Inverness has a 23 minute stop, a 22 minute stop and a 15 minute stop
zoom zoom
I really go for long trips so
Bikes on long trips don't seem good
Bike for the city
I think it's much viable option for me
If only better RxEVs were available
I still wonder how my 1200 euro focus didn't totally fall apart after doing 30k km In 1.5 years
Poland
55km/day for 1.5 years is bananas
The most i did was 1200 km in 1 day
But mostly I did 500-600 km trips few times per year
Because it's cheaper than train
34 miles a day is nothin :^ |
Imagine truck driving
bananas - during lockdown? Where could you even travel to
Now I have over 300k km
I did 6000 miles last year, and half of that was driving my son in circles to get him to sleep
pro nascar driver eh
le mans time
Mostly trips to family
Once did 5 hours driving to and from the airport in a single day
How many hours of travelling was driving 750miles in a day @fathom socket ? That's insane
The 1200 km trip took like 14-15 hours
Nice highways you got there
Only driving with no breaks counted
In my country from where I am to a big city it is 500 km in 13 hours
Indonesia
i did some delivery driving for a charity during lockdown probably one of the most stressful things ive done being that most of the drops were in Edinburgh
that was gruelling, I cannot imagine 17 hours of driving in a day
The furthest I would ever drive in a day would be to inverness or to Germany - both of which would need less than an hour of charging time over 9 hours of driving
(In a Tesla Model Y)
3 stops both times
so I just don't see that it makes anything but the most extreme road trips unmanageable
guys
I have to stop every 250-300km to put gas
What it has to do anything with cars?
Nothing, just funny
And if you really want a relation many cars need help
My car needs help to push it over 100HP
I think 113 hp my focus has is enough
Would need more torque and wider tyres
For my car?
My
But I don't want go diesel
They are meh
Diesel is expensive and the economy is not that great for non-oil
diesels decent in the UK
For me it's just a vomit machine
yeah diesel is stinky
I like the smell of gasoline, smells like hard work and doing stuff to your car
Diesel is quieter though, especially in big vehicles
In big yeah
But all diesel cars i had in my family
Made me just sick
I drive this
And I have no problems
Not exactly a usual car
I get in Astra 1.7 cdti or VW Passat 1.9 tdi I just throw up after 20 minutes
the busses we had for school were rattling all the windows at idle
that really annoying like resonance
gets in your ear and everything
Newer diesels from the German manufactuers are clean-ish, diesel gate notwithstanding. Much quieter than the crap we used to have
but even then we had a diesel 1995 Nissan Serena, then a diesel 2000 Ford Tourneo 9 seater and then a diesel 2004 VW Touran
and the improvement each time was astonishing
I hope never to own a diesel
lolwut
someone is trying to sell this piece of shit for £9k
Any modern diesel either has an EGR system or DPF
You'll never see any soot from them at all now
You get huge fines here if you tamper with the emissions system
Lucky
nobody ever checks for emissions yet
I hate EGR systems
if the cooler fails, coolant drips into the engine and gives you head gasket signs of problems
just lock the valve
On my diesel you need to get blanking plates and a chip that plugs into the map sensor to tell the ECU its still got an EGR sytem working lmao
Otherwise it puts itself into limp mode
meh
and I'm still thinking
I got a check engine light 2 weeks ago
and now it's gone again
last time before it went away it was blinking
and it felt like it was misfiring really really badly
Yeah misfires will throw codes
This is what happened to mine. map went faulty on me
Truck squeezing past cars in my street
Managed it better than some cars that come down here
Welcome to the UK
My car always zaps me with static
dang
Tesla's Beta "Self-Driving" Software Sure Seems Heavy on the Beta
car go brrrrrrr
you don't understand that's only for the look
do you think my fake Password JDM tow ring is useful
it looks real but it would probably break if you try to tow the car with it xD
I know that it’s only for the look
But I don’t understand why you would want your car to look like it breaks down a lot
really ? that's just a race car style, this thing is mandatory on a track (i mean in a real useful version)
But you just look like a muppet
It’s not cool or functional
Phoenix NB MX5 going for £1995 here with 86k miles
Presumably has the LSD bit too nice for me though
full service history and everything
what do y'all think about the mk2 headlights?
beh
I personally think they look too big
still runs
We are targeting 3:45 p.m. EDT on Thursday, March 18 for the second hot fire test of the core stage for the Space Launch System rocket at NASA’s Stennis Space Center near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.

I still wish they'd used the V12 AM but I can understand why from a logistical point of view
Very helpful if you can use the same spare parts on either engine
Can't get insured on a mazda 2
wtf did you do
nah was experimenting with pay by mile insurance
Ah
seems to require you to be over 21/25
would of been great for a second project car but ill probably just have to live with paying for a full policy the now
I need rebuild my steering rack
theres so many junk focus' why not yoink one
Or never drive on highway
With my luck
I'm going to get another one that has play in it
You know what was fun
mines has play on the inner tie rods not the rack itself
I have new tie rids and it still feels loose
sure they did the inner ones aswell?
i want to do my inners but ill probably find a way to mess up the clip and have it undo while going 70mph
But not being able to control the car while on emergency in highway going 140 kmh was so un fun
mines has noticable play but its not dangerous
when i corner at 60 on high friction surface im pretty sure its the cause of the heavy vibrations
Dingeth door
Happy radiator
Skill
Engine temp after driving 140 kmh on highway
Something is off
I never see it go in the middle
RIP thermostat

weird lightbar not my thing, good car though
It literally goes up to this temp and doesnt go further unl;ess I push it harder
but still not much higher than this
Sounds like a bad thermostat
Here's the video with sound. https://youtu.be/xpwmN3d0x_s
This is the badest burnout i have seen in a while and its a mini van SUBSCRIBE & SHARE thanks!!!! Credits to bubav8 channel
This is bubav8 channel http://www.youtube.com/user/bubav8 Go check it out he has some bad ass video and a killer mechanic!!!
Oh it’s a burnout
I don’t think that’s the problem, it’s just that the DBS is more grand tourer than the Vantage
https://youtu.be/HZnaypsIs-w got me a dragy lol
You might be right, just thought they would want to use the superleggera engine since it does fit in the chassis
Although
I don't know any figures but I suspect the v12 engine is much heavier
Not really ideal when you want to be taking corners as fast as possible
I think they’re just slowly developing the V12 Vantage
Took ages for the last one to get the V12 variant iirc
They shoved it in the speedster
but
obviously that has changed weight ratios so it can't really be applied without a lot of testing
Minor leak

Definitely getting there, cool to see the progress of automated driving.
It's nowhere close to being there.
And the fact Tesla is relying on non-professional drivers to test it's half baked software on public roads horrifies me.
the thing is with these kinds of systems is, without a huge amount of data from a full open beta roll out, it would take much much longer to make the same strides forward
There are ways that don't involve putting the public at risk.
Otherwise we can wait.
probably not as well as a real world scenario could do it
the guy said it did alot better in suburbs, which is probably what they tested for
The more you add into the system, the more unstable it begins. Fortunately we can run simluations that test for all cases without using drivers.
You can generate an insane amount of data far faster than even a million drivers can.
but you cant ensure that your simulation data correlates with real world data without a fair amount of data
I wouldnt be suuper suprised if they roll back the system, or geofence it so it wont be exposed with those kinds of city environments once they have a fair chunk of data
You can ensure anything digitally. You can program the most tragic of edge cases.
You can run a billion trolley simulations if required.
People shouldn't have to put themselves in danger or put others in danger to develop a system. Especially not when Tesla refuses to take any responsibility.
There's definitely better ways of doing it
but i'd guess this system, even though it did pretty badly there, did better than other current systems might have
We don't know if that's true because other automakers haven't released half baked features into the wild for customers to beta test.
i'd like to see apple just magically release a self driving car
and then as all the accidents happen, they either say they're driving it wrong or, that they had the courage to release it early
Honestly? The stuff I've been hearing about them over the last 5 years?
I doubt they'll release a car to consumers any time in the near future.
Maybe do a paper launch by 2025.
But they have no reason to rush in right now.
I'm more curious to see how they'll work with automotive ownership and maintaining relevance as older models hit the second hand market.
“We make offers to customers who then come to us. For example, you have a customer with a battery-powered vehicle, and if we notice he does long journeys, we can provide him with additional range, which we can do digitally.”
fucking volkswagen
inb4 extremely easy car hacks making all cars the highest trim immediately
that's already sorta been possible with vw
in europe, instead of spending $$$ on lane keeping assist, auto high beams and traffic sign recognition, you could just spend $100 on traffic sign recognition and code the rest in in half an hour
since traffic sign recognition was the cheapest way to get the camera that those other paid options use
Icheck engine light again
I've noticed a pattern
When I drive a lot in the city
It comes up
But when I drive outside the city
It goes away
You hooked a scan tool to it?
If ur engine is rough around the city
Could be a misfire
Tried
I get no connection
Also one time when it broke down on highway
I got huge missfure for short moment
Yeah sounds like a fueling problem or sensor
Check engine light was blinking and then went away after 20 seconds
The problem was chewed up wiring
Were you just getting off the highway or it did it while you were just driving
Ah I see
bio?
But it does even on gasoline
Yeah
sometimes the valve that switches from petrol to lpg gets stuck
I know it happens a lot on the older gq patrols
But thats not ur problem
I have to plug my truck into an electrical outlet if it gets too cold to keep the block warm or it won’t start 😂
@fathom socket Sounds like compression
rings are cold then it warms up and can burn fuel
did you mean oil?
Nah
When your engine is cold the rings are smaller which lets air get past them. So the fuel doesn't always ignite causing rough idle while cold. Once the engine is warm the rings get bigger and seal better. All engines will run rough in really cold weather for 10 - 30 seconds
If a diesel is really hard to start while cold. I would always check glow plugs
I dont know much around LPG engines. Mostly petrol and diesel
It runs more for like 5-8 minutes
Hm...
The most sold pickup truck in the US, the Ford F150 now also does suffer major shortages of silicon.
Estimated 2.5billion USD loss within first half of 2021.
And Toyota apparently was ready.
Water pump
suprised your rear outer arches arent bubbling
why?
focus mk1's left are quite tatty around the arches
theres barely any left and the ones that are still going often have rust around the rear wheels
most of my car is rust free
all the rust it has is on the right fender and all the doors
fun to think about the hard depreciation on these
i imagine a 730D back in 2004 costed a hefty amount now going for £1600
I really consider cheap BMWs as unreiable cars
but uk car prices are like 1/3 or 1/2 of here
certainly not the easiest to run cars yeah heh
idk what my old frield bought
but his bmw costed as much as my ford did
it fell apart after 2 months
i want a E46 to take apart and learn on
I wish I could work on my ford
but I look at the engine bay
and It just scares me away
yeah can be hard to get started with work like that especially when its your only car and in use
also everything is so cramped and I don't want to risk
maybe some old carburated 4 banger that engine bay is half empty
there are plenty of "destroyed" ones
I think the appropriate term would be
ruined
Łada nivas are really cheap
i was actually going to go for one but the insurance was too steep for me to justify
was a riva
one way to find out
I guess it's spanner time
give it a little bump into a wall
Yeet.
Pagani Huayra R with naturally aspirated V12? 🤔 They gots me attention once again
Hoonigan.com has 50% site wide for the weekend
Do you want to know how much tires for my firetruck cost
At least $50.
$500 per front tire
And around $250 for each rear tire
And there are 4 rear tires
So I was right.
It was at least $50.
If I have to replace those anytime soon I think I will die
do you know how much a set of tyres for my focus cost?
They usually last two-three years, or there abouts.
I forget how long the tires on my truck last for. Haven't really had it long enough for it to matter.
I already had 2 flat tyres on the truck I drive
and 1 on the trailer
and they ran out of spares
i pay $ 160 for my tyres.. including change and install (on my car)
Tires for my firetruck are worth more than my car or truck
my car is around $850 worth 😄
I think 1 tyre is worth more than my car
mine has value of around 300 euros
500 at best
I pay 30 euros + 20 euro install fee
I just got Stelies for winter so I don't need to visit tyre shop so often
especially after fucking up
I had a stone punch through one of my drive tires while I was fully loaded.
That was FUN.
I've also had a mild blowout on the right front tire on the freeway while fully loaded.
Btw, I weigh ~28 tonnes while fully loaded.
that sounds scary
Lets just say that I woke up from that blowout.
I only drove unloaded truck and unloaded trailer
At least it was a mild one. In the way that it was a loud bang, but the air was let out slowly.
That's supposed to be IN the vehicle.
It's on a tractor frame
I'm more worried about the rusted oil filter.
This hurts my brain
HELLO fellow VCDS user!!
Yep, too bad it’s useless with the new MQB evo platform
It only works for basic functions
Hell even MY21 models you couldn’t code anything driver assist related
I wonder if Uwe will update it for those cars
nope. gotta use other software now
you can do a diagnostics scan but you can't change coding/adaptations without an authorisation token from VW
so basically, instead of the classic 20103/31347, you need all auth tokens to the SFD backend
i'm not sure what you'd really call the token though, people say auth/handshake/session key...
@low carbon bummer! so is VCDS useless for newer cars?
MQB evo cars like Golf Mk8 onwards yes
Maybe not useless but you can’t do nearly as much
Looks good to me
VCDS?
a high quality piece of diagnostic software for vag cars
Sounds like proprietary expensive subscription based software.
You can get some China clones for like 20 bucks
those are shit and can only be used for basic diagnostics
obdeleven is the most cost effective route for coding vw group cars, but ios support wasn't available when i was getting coding equipment
I still have one 👀
meh remi gaillard ....
He’s great!
I just need vcds for key relearn
Agreed
It’s resolved issues for me
Also been able to tweak my diff and TCS settings
$9,900 is not 10k. Smh
ok fine 9.9k for a mach 1?!
I don't know if that is a good, or a bad price. Seems to be decent from the quick search I did.
More interested in the Thunderbird on the left.
We had a blue one that ended up selling for around 27k iirc, but it was still dealer prepped and in perfect condition so that contributed a lot
Yeah arent the ones on the pic mach 4's?
Season three of Formula 1: Drive to Survive is just so much fun. The first episode felt like a crazy movie time capsule in which you watch a world fall into pandemic
Damn. I'm looking forward to the new season!
i though the hand was going to get sucked in
it's many
unpopular opinion but it is the same stuff every year, just repeats the races imo
Same with tech tbh
i can agree with that
some civic pictures for your eyeballs
I'm not seeing enough ugly Priuses
oh no
Yea that's ugly alright
My Prius is nice.
How baller is a 88 Toyota Supra?
Less than a 1993 but way more than a 2019.
It's a BMW Z4 underneath which really isn't a cool car.
It's an excellent engine, excellent transmission, nice styling, and great performance
And it's built by Magna Steyr which is ultra cool
it's just my personal opinion and I don't disagree with any of your points but it doesn't have the same street cred as the old jz supras imo
The old Supras only real claim is making stupid power and being overpriced on the second hand market.
The B58 in the new Supra is every bit as potent.
I honestly think the 90s Supras have attained a reputation so overblown it makes Tesla owners seem humble.
Yeah I see your point. I guess I just think if I wanted a BMW I'd buy one.
Might have a better dealer experience.
But I've come to accept this new reality. Alternative is no Supra or GT86
and it beats Toyota going to Ford or GM.
Looking at you Honda
Turns out GM will be making Honda and Acura EVs in the near future
Ford's are pretty good, GM aren't. Lucky we don't have them in the UK anymore they sold up to psa
Fords don't have a good rep in the US
They not to bad in the UK. But that's probably because they have always being compared to GM's Vauxhall which are a meme at this point 😅
At least since the 70s
Their reputation is not bad
The EcoSport is tragic.
I thought Chevrolet was the laughing stock
Chevy isn't much better
That's not a great defense.
Fleet vehicles are often a sign of cheapness and attempting to pad sales figures.
rip mercury
Look at the amount of non fleet vehicles on the road even
EcoSport? I got a Mondeo (fusion in the us) with a 1.5 ecoboost as a company car, it's decent enough
Everyone else ended up releasing more compelling products
ford doesn't really have good quality parts
