What about
its slow
Cars that had 16 hp
Or 22
It don't remember
But there are plenty of cars on road that have less than 30 hp here
126p? π
Sadly not
then the 340hp
A lot of 126p were destroyed by idiot millenials
I'd love a 126p
π’
Can get them for like 2200zl
Mostly it's cinquecento and Seicento
Didn't they cost like 300 PLN
I mean a different 126p
So basically what happened to all DAF's here π’
Well the price varies
Everybody used to own them, now they're rare AF
the ones that people are willing to bring to the UK are like 2200zl
They aren't rare
99.9% died in reverse driving races lol
My friend in Lodz has like 4
I have 0
π
But I have a Ford Focus that is worth less than a 126p
There's a great "Meanwhile in Poland" video with lots of 126ps
Jk, they can be quite nice
yeah at time stamp 1:26 (fitting lmao)
is it really poland if you aren't exclaiming ja pierdole and kurwa every sentence
WrΓ³bel
You will hear from me every time
I'm born i and Poland
But I'm very unpolish
Doesn't seem to have those bug eyes vents
Very nice
no widebody kit/stance?
Dunno why one would buy a civic/city in this economy
LOOK AT DEM CURVES
From the time when cardesign was actually interesting and innovative
my music teacher has a multipla
Interesting and innovative
is a funny way of saying 'fuck ugly'
From the era that brought you this megane
Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, though car design is more derivative and less distinctive now, new cars look so much better than they ever
have
I remember in about 2007 trying to work out which car I liked the look of the most, and I hated the back end of literally every car I could think of
I agree
all so round and bubbly
honestly i don't like either of them, but I get what you are trying to explain
I have a thing about spoilers
I don't think I could drive a car with a wing like that without feeling like an absolutely ridiculous douchebag
mobility scooters do exist, it's called a crazy electric bike
you don't even spin it, they come with like 1000W
and reach inane speeds.
GT3RS wing is even bigger
but I don't like that
can confirm, dad has a porsche and it's true
audi is a whole different story tho
And maintenance is expensive
i love audi because they make all forms of decent cars
just the maintenance is expensive
yeah the whole back axle movements and stuff
i saw one down the highway passing every car like a crazy ass person would do
i'm more interested in the lower end stuff tho
like 3.2 FSI, and 3.0 supercharged S4
we might buy a 3.2 FSI A4 quattro one day
would be a decent change from our 2.0 TFSI, as second car.
I just drive an off brand vw
skoda used to be better, well sometimes they're still good but like, IDK
we went to a dealer with mom once, the cars were too plasticy on the interiors
octavia, superb, etc.. all plastic everywhere cheap plastic i mean.
just felt low quality
seat might be a better go.
latest gen skodas are pretty good
might be, haven't kept up
lexus good

They're bringing a V8 back to the IS
meh
IS 500 F Sport iirc
That's true, but it's nice to see someone still putting V8s in stuff that isn't Dodge
All of the real F cars are expensive pretty much
except the RC F
it's depreciating
because its meh
it's like buying a lambo when it comes to buying old stuff
LC is beautiful but people aren't buying it so its depreciating too Lol
seemingly people ask insane prices just because it has some form of custom package value
LC looks nice
My 1999 RX 300 is worth 40k because its a special colour /s
not sure how practical tho...
haha its not remotely practical
yeah...
effectively a 2 seater (regardless of what lexus says)
it has "back seats" but they're the typical useless coupe ones
not all coupe back seats are useless, but like.. G37 back seats are a meme
A5 prolly much better.
tbh that's one thing my old RX does well
has really really good visibility
(yes I know they're not remotely the same car
)
our A4 has decently well visibility as well
you gotta be snappy tho, like, jump from one side to the other
especially during the night time, because it has no smoked side mirrors.
my mom's Explorer has terrible visibility out the back
then again we're driving it in istanbul so it's worse than LA
thing is much easier to drive on an empty road
like.. obviously
yeah
I don't understand why they even put back seats in like that
Like even for kids it doesn't make sense
because kids need car seats or legroom
neither of which you have in a Mustang
I've heard the thing about "it's cheaper to insure if it has 4 seats" but that's been soundly debunked
insurance companies aren't stupid
that LC back side has no izofix
yeah its certainly not a practical car
you want that for mounting a baby seat
I'd totally buy one if I could though, since I already have a practical RX
I don't ever want a car like that
same.
but like, if you buy that, it's guaranteed you'll sell it once you deal with family and kids stuff..
Plus I really like the A5/S5/RS5 sportback
so if I wanted a coupey looking car
I'd just get the sportback
or an Arteon
or a 4 series
S5 is baller in the coupe form
well my real dream car would be a GS F but those don't depreciate
the LC is depreciating fast
I actually prefer the look of the sportback
The RS5 sportback to me is kind of an awesome sweetspot in car form
it looks cool with a swoopy back end
but it also has enough space for people and things
it's fast as fuck
but not toooooo thirsty
ye, the GS F doesn't have the swoopy back though
I prefer both the swoopy back end, and having a hatch over a trunk
that's actually a gs 350 but whatever
same rear end
one thing about GS F that
is really appealing to me is the lack of turbo/superchargers
If I had infinity money, and did too many miles for a Tesla, the RS5 sportback is what I'd daily
Yeah, it's true.
THough the Turbo V6 in the Audi is pretty reliable, as I understand it
Certainly better than BMW
the maintenance cost I think is mostly like the ceramic disks and shit
I'm mostly talking out of my ass
but my understanding is the BMW V8s are more reliable, but the Audi V6 is more reliable than the I6 in the BMWs
By far the biggest shortcoming (imo, and having not driven it yet) of the GS F would be the infotainment system
that shits terrible
but there's hard buttons for everything so
For being what it is, its actually... surprisingly decent highway fuel economy
People seem to be getting like 24-28mpg highway which (imo) is pretty solid for a car like that
anything can be reliable if you are willing to put enough money into premptive maintenance
if you have infinity money, you buy infiniti xD
the sportbacks are a bit too large IMHO, i prefer the S4 and the coupe S5
though those ACC sensors on both sides are baller
perfect for preventing head on crashes
though those usually come with an another issue, the beep sound that makes you brake too fast, and another person rams to you from the back.. possibly.
s4 isn't as fast as the m340i or c43
if it were my money i'd be getting the c43 probably
lol, who cares, S4 is still fast as heck,
also it's a whole lot more better than those other two vehicles
DSG shifts the gears in a whim
no way i'm getting a BMW or C43 over an S4.
wdym
Idk to me there are better options out there
itβs a civic
you literally cant go wrong with a civic
i wanted a reliable car with good fuel economy, not something thatβs gonna drain my bank account every time i drive it
and it was an amazing deal
57k miles
Lol, they're 4cm longer
and 1mm wider
Fair point
you can at least here
i mean the whole sportback / notchback concept is not that excellent
it's fast, aero but i don't dig the roof coming down on top to the back seats
You been in the back of one? Fine unless youβre like 6β2
i'm like around 6, maybe a tiny bit couple cms above
i prefer your average sedan type a bit more
from the bottom of the car to the roof, it's not too big
i was talking about the whole car when i said a bit too big
sportback has a higher turning circle coming to think of it.
our A4 is already not the best parking car
like give me a hot hatch with torsen.. π
I just think they're dope. I think practicality would win out and I'd get a Golf R wagon instead as I said the other day
golf R is haldex tho, no point
almost as quick, way more practical, more rear seat headroom (but less legroom)
%90 of the power on the front, overheats and becomes even worse
the AWD system is garbo
I don't give a shit about any of that
I'm paying more for the 150 extra horsepower
yeah but how reliably it puts that power down to the floor?
More reliably than the 1.5TSI that's the next biggest petrol engine?
it's going to be harder to drive
that can't possibly be true.
there are literally tons of different VAG vehicles
The Golf R wagons get great reviews for ease of driving
Conspiracy hat on
no i'm talking for real.
Like if you're pushing it as hard as you can
all that haldex is adding to the total cost of the car.
also as i recall haldex fixing is not low on your wallet..
You're probably right
but you can pick up Golf R wagons used for like...Β£15k
given the combination of performance and practicality
i wouldn't deal with it, simply knowing the overheating issues of the AWD system but like
yeah it's fine
even if you factor in maintenance
but still too expensive
i mean you can get other cars
why not like.. get a wagon A4?
Golf has a way bigger boot
20% larger
and it's shorter and narrower
so it's easier to park etc
TBH I probably will get a A4 estate eventually
except FWD cars are not the easiest park..
especially when the vehicles are wagon
or just tall like the old cadillac DTS
A4 estate will likely be your best bet
The Golf wagon is like 20cm shorter than the A4 estate--that's going to be easier to get into a multi story car parking space
even if it is mostly FWD
it's not just about 20cm tho, yes
I'd want an AWD Audi
the back side of wagons with front wheel drive bias are bad
like if you're sitting on the back, you'll shake left to right
I've only ever driven FWD hatchbacks
i've been to a volvo of that sort, it was crap
like as if i'm sitting on the back of an off-road vehicle
down a mountain or something a bit.
yeah since you would be the one driving it
it's going to make so little odds
i'd put the money to an A4 quattro tho
my drive way is pretty short
not just because we have one, but because of it being nice as an all around car
get a B8 too while at it, B9 AWD is not all that great
When does B8 end and B9 begin?
like any 2013 and above with the 2.0 TFSI
B8 ended with 2015
B9 started around 2015 and above
it's probably because the cars are expensive and the owners go fast
the sad image of it
oh yeah, 100%
i used to drive like a madman but i no longer even fully pedal it
you learn from your mistakes after a while lol
Yeah. I tried hooning it in a 1.2 Honda Jazz
did a 180 kick flip
that was the end of that
I have two small children now, so I drive a bit more carefully
you can tell from the rims and the ACC kinda
Nice
The Golf R wagons seem to be losing their value more quickly than the Audis
so you can get a nicer one second hand for the same money
there are isofix'es on both seats on the back of this
so you can mount two child seats.
True of all cars manufactured after 2011
yeah this is a 2011 btw, went to traffic during summer of 2011
as what the paper says.
I have a 2011 Seat Leon
so it dealt with the oil issues, i checked over engine code
but it doesn't burn oil at all anymore
oil is always on top when i check from infotainment, recently went to service.
I just want something with leather seats, a bigger boot and an actual infotainment system, and can do 0-60 in under 8 seconds
grab a 225 HP one, like 2012 and above
the older ones are 211 HP with the oil issues.

yes it has 4motion instead of quattro, but I don't think I'm going to overheat the Haldex just driving along
I do
or the better ones
yeah the passats or golfs normally don't come with these
they save the better seats for audi
the one you posted was nice, except for the seats
those nappa-kind stuff are the default seats, executive / limo etc packages come with the seats we have on ours.
wipe clean leather seats suit me. I expect they're vastly more comfortable than the shitty ones in the Leon
yeah, easy to clean as well.
With 2 sticky children and one sticky grown up, that's essential
I've never seen the appeal of leather seats imho
I actually don't think leather seats feel better (personal opinion)
this might do it..
Ew a diesel
diesels are far more reliable on the audi end π
No
also you're carrying stuff so, yes
Buy a v10 estate audi
Less price more power
Noob
no you π
U r dad
dad is gud
No u are a dad like person
the car's point is A to B
Bo
i'm fine with 252 HP π
I do chatt with dads
some dad cars for ya
I have a W220 c63
U cant handle the power
noyou.
basically nothing more than a glorified C300
it's a block on the reliable end but still a trash car
With 600+hp
yeah
Get out
Bye
That's how you know your o-rings were bad I guess
Nah chunks are made to make it easier to put them together
Anyone know anything about electric motors plz dm me I need help
I might be rebuilding a ford 335 in my shed in my backyard
So uhh
That might be chaotic or great
i know some stuff about EVs
you doing the old ford tractor or a 335 to a car or truck?
I don't have any vehicle yet
Just the engine
So we'll see what I can get
It'd be cool if I could get an old maverick or something
mercury maybe
yeah
I wanna say I have the 302 but I don't remember
i dont think it has run in a good 20 years
and it has been sitting in what is a essentially a lean-to on a tire
over sand
What am I lookin at?
My 3rd aftermarket steering wheel kit

i suppose this might actually work on crapper cars
i bought it for our A4, never used π
I thought my front left tie rod was blown as thats the one i usually smack into potholes
front right is actually terrible
front left is a tiny bit of play
Great battle between the Porsche GT1 and the McLaren F1 GTR at Le Mans in 1996. Listen to the great sound of the McLaren en see the nice flames at the back site of the Porsche when the driver is changing gears
I find this very cool
rip tires.... and clutch
one way ticket to hell and back..
at least turn on the interior lights so you don't end up with such a poor video
they arenβt working rn unfortunately
current gen has the same zf 8 speed as the m340i..
DSG > ZF
agree
all my cars are currently dsg
but im not going to buy a porsche panamera just to get a powerful car with a dual clutch
S4 exists, you know.
the b9 s4 has a zf you mongol
why would you compare a generation old car to the m340i/c43?
then why would audi start using the zf 8hp then?
audi cheaped out on B9
lmao
they went for a cheesy AWD compared to the torsen
you clearly have no idea what you're on about.
cheesy awd?
you clearly have no idea what you're talking about
you're the one without a clue
all the 6cyl a4s have torsen awd systems
B9 has crapper AWD than the old B8 torsen
only lower powered ones have the quattro ultra system
the AWD system on those suck
also the guy behind audi is saying they'll deliver EVs with LESS range
he's a douche.
a lot of their cars will be replaced with electric equivalents
they said they'll no more make ICE A4s and stuff.
lmao
maybe be informed before trying to sound like a complete smartass
lol what a baby
@eager grove look at this child
has absolutely no idea what they're talking about. then when they get disproven, blocked...what a joke
Yeah, I dunno. You shouldn't call people mongols though
This cat was telling me that 4WD systems on all Golf R wagons overheats and dies
lol - they recommend the basic leather seats in the b8 a4. they're just as bad as the base leather seats in the passat, you'll slide off the seat base when taking corners with any speed. you can tell he's one of those guys that only likes one brand (audi) and will talk shit about everything else. like really, calling a c63 a c300 with a different engine?
that's just like saying an rs4 is just an a4 with a bigger engine
lol. haldex is actually a good awd system compared to other fwd biased ones, especially the new gen6 system
my haldex did need a software update while in my ownership though
rs4 is an awesome daily though but i couldn't find a good setting with the standard drc suspension. at the time you couldn't order it with standard suspension so decided against ordering
oh. and it has a proper quattro system and zf torque converter unlike what that kid was saying
He also said he'd want an S4 vs an S5 because the S5 was too big
and I was like
it's 4cm longer
must be a child
doesn't know the difference between quattro and quattro ultra, so just says the generation with both is 'not all that great'
that also makes zero sense
what is a block???
conspiracy theorist lol
what does that have to do with the efficacy of the front assist system? guess what - if the 'basic' MRR single radar system was unsafe, it wouldn't be used
honestly, imagine being this confidently ignorant. must be an easy life
I thought that FWD hard to park thing sounded like bollocks
paid reviews, i KNOW that's bollocks
and he has the audacity to get all 'i know everything, you're the ignorant one here' rubbish and block me
absolutely laughable
btw, what are prices like on the c7 a6's there?
What dates are C7?
There's a wagon for Β£13k
2012
Pretty quick too
Lol that looks odly cheap imho
Yeah I think so
usually think they're closer to 15 or 20
especially with less than 100k miles on the clock
yep, take a look at them
haven't driven a 'normal' one tho, only the s6. twin turbo v8 with s-tronic was a bloody hoot
Yeah that one is suspiciously cheap
love me some dual clutch
I wouldn't trust it for that "cheap" lol
no 2.0?
Don't think we got the petrol 2.0
interesting
I think it came later, like in 2015
ah right, the c7.5
Ah no it was also there in 2012 my bad, only the lower power output tho
None of those on auto trader - no wagons at least
180hp
next newest one is 2018
Price: Β£12,350. Well looked after prestine condition body and interior.
Owned the car for 4 years. Was taken to MRC for stage 2 pulley upgrade, eco tune, gearbox eco tune.
Sleeper luxury saloon.
Car has been resprayed at the front so no unsightly stone chips. And then protected with Paint Protection Film to ensure no stonechips whatsoever. The ...
honestly the tdi ones are good tho
Only one saloon
3.0 tdi
I don't do enough miles for a diseasel
I'd kill a diesel engine
why?
too many short journeys not enough long trips
Yeah thosr are from 2015 as far as I can see
advice is go diesel if you do 12kmiles a year
i do heaps of short journeys with my kodiaq rs and no issues
how many miles you do a year?
about 10k
if you do any regular highway miles (like 30min a week) it's perfectly fine to have a diesel imo
yeah, I just don't
so it'd get all gummed up with sludge between trips to my in laws
plus they're trying to ban diesels where I live
so not smart
getting a fast diesel would be fun if I had a long commute
the torque is why i have no issues with modern diesel
yeah man
prior to the kodiaqs, my only experience with diesels have been utes
saw a review of a 435d Gran Coupe
guy was getting close to 50mpg in something that was a proper weapon
when they first landed i drove the 180hp tsi and 190hp tdi and was absolutely hooked on the tdi
what car?
the kodiaq
but then i got the golf so had to upgrade from the standard kodiaq because it was too slow lol
500nm is about enough torque for me. kodiaq rs is 500nm and my golf is 470nm
I haven't driven enough cars
but yep the jump in refinement going from a 4cyl diesel to 6cyl is massive
to know when I would want a higher HP car or a higher torque one
yeah I wouldn't want a 4cyl diesel
we were thinking of moving to the country
depends. the vw bitdi is a cracker of an engine
tuned you're making golf r power but with way more torque
I just don't know what a high HP/low torque car feels like compared to a low HP/high torque car
like if the kodiaq rs being a boat with that bitdi is fine to me with a 4.3s 0-100 golf r, then it's fine lol
ea888 = best of both worlds
when in boost, it feels like you're got that sweet mid-range rev from a diesel
but being a turbopetrol, instead of having that pull for around 1500rpm, it's around most of the rev range
a proper 'performance' diesel is a multi turbo 6cyl imo. i've driven range rover sports and touaregs in v6 and v8 diesel form, and the v6s do noticeably handle better due to the lighter front end. of course, the v6s don't pull as much but any high powered one is honestly powerful enough
you've gotta drive a 535d or a6 bitdi
should try a new one
but not brand new, i've driven a q8 with the 50 tdi v6 and its horribly laggy
I learned in a diesel, but it kept speeding up when I went round corners slowly in too high gear
hahaha
just gotta send it
i'd like to upgrade from my kodiaq rs to an x5, but there's no 'middle of the road' diesel available
nah not my thing
i have too much mechanical sympathy to beat on a cold engine when its needed
i don't really get why manufacturers don't put install block heaters in phevs
yeah that is dumb
in the plug in hybrid market it's the best there is
55 innit?
there's both
and the battery isn't big enough
the X5 has proper range, even when it's cold. Only problem is the charging speed
literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard
that'll teach them for closing all their fecking nuclear power stations
so so so dumb
but you can commute all week on a single electric charge
my biggest pet peeve with the x5 is that the side sill isn't covered
so annoying, i had one for a few days last winter and had to wash all my pants
and then on a long journey you have electric for towns and stop start, and the V6 for the motorway
I've never owned an SUV but SUV drivers complain about that a lot
not an issue on most though!
I just can't imagine my trousers ever touching the damn car
it seems to be a specific x5 problem
Mat watson mentions it on every SUV review if it has it or doesn't
most other brands make the side sill cover a part of a door unlike bmw
My friend has a Hyundai Tuscon
same problem
I think the way I climb in and out of cars must be different because I can't imagine in mattering
not sure how that would happen in a tuscon
This BMW X5 45e arrived at HG 6 months ago and we've now done nearly 10k miles in it. This video explains what we've learnt about running a plugin hybrid after living with a pure electric car during the previous 12 months.
This video was created with the support of:
http://www.footmanjames.co.uk/
https://bit.ly/Magnitude_Finance-HG
https://www.s...
its small oversights like that which is making me consider the gle instead over the x5
plus the 400d is available here unlike bmw's 40d
@low carbon I think I'd have the Q7 diesel, but the X5 plugin hybrid for me would be ideal as a pre-switch to electric car
That car is worth $17000 obviously
I have a question
for how long my car should output white "smoke" from exhaust
or this is something that LPG conversion does
At the start it's normal, mostly water vapor being evaporated
If it continues after half an hour of driving, it's likely a head gasket problem
I still see white smoke after driving for 20 minutes
but it doesn't seem to consume any coolant
unless I have a puddle in my muffler
through the most exquisite fram filter
i did a oil change on my poor car
whilst it was in the air i discovered that the right tie rod end is toast, i thought the vibration noise was just the interior panels but no.
Windsor vs Cleveland vs FE
Which would be the best to build
I have one of them but I'm not sure which one
It also could be a 400
Based on research I could get at least 500 hp out of each one
But which would be the cheapest
F
Interior of my Silvia
is that the original radio too?
yes sir
wow
It works too
even more wow
The cassette player as well
when i bought my car, it came with an aftermarket radio from the early 80s
my car is from 67
What car?
a 1967 Mercury Cougar
that would be an incredibly rare find in america
all of them pretty much got destroyed after the fast and the furious movies came out
Well, it has 49k miles
They are rare here in EU. Regardless of condition
oh, ok
my car is even pretty rare in america where it was domestically sold
only about 2% of the ones made are still on the road
Wow, how does it drive?
well the thing is i'm not exactly old enough to drive it, my dad and i have been restoring it for a good majority of my life
it will be mine when i'm 16
Ohh, that's nice!
but from the limited times i've driven it, it drives really well, the only thing i don't like about it is how heavy the steering is
everything mechanical is pretty much brand new
Do you own that cougar?
it's in my dad's title because insurance would be crazy expensive if i owned it
it will be in my name when i'm 18
Right now I think I'm going to build a ford engine (still not sure what it is yet) and find some old roller to put it in
It'd be cool if I could find a maverick or a fox body or something
The engine that I have is either a late windsor, a cleveland, an FE, or a 400
I think it came out of an f250 from the late 60s to mid 70s
My plan was to get a car and work on it with my dad as well. But we got the silvia and there's nothing to work on. I am 16 and here in EU you need to be 18 to drive. Big oof
oh
the engine we had in our cougar was a 289 windsor but it pretty much had a massive meltdown and cracked all over the place
a couple of years ago we sourced a heavily modified 289 that pretty much had all of the bells and whistles
that's what's in there now
the power band is 0 to 3,000 rpm so it has a lot of low end torque
I'm relatively sure I'm going to have to have the block of the engine I have now machined because it hasn't run in at least 10 years and it is sitting in a building with 3 walls
And I think it is seized
It's just a weather seize so it should be fixable
If it is a cleveland or a 400 I hear that they have some iffy casts so I won't get it overbored too far
If it is a 351M I'll have to get a crank
hmm
i'm kind of into japanese cars as well and i would like to own either a Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno or a Nissan Skyline BNR32 GT-R sometime
I would like to own a r32 one day as well :))
just like my dad lol
but i'm slowly turning him
and also the reason why i got a cougar was because he had owned several cougars in the past so i thought they were really cool and wanted one as well
it's been a really fun journey restoring it
it used to be owned by some redneck in the midwest who built demo derby cars for living and when we bought it, it was pretty much stripped out so we were guessing he had plans to turn it into a demo derby car
luckily it didn't
351 Cleveland is what i have
Just found out
So if I put a crank in it I get a 400
Then I cam it
And do some valve work
A new intake and carb
And I think I could get approx 500 hp out of the stock heads and pistons
No
I will need pistons
400 pistons are taller I think
let me do some research
i don't think that's how it works
the number is how large the cylinders are in cubic inches
pistons from a 400 wouldn't fit in a 351 block
unless you bored out the cylinders
im gonna have it bored
i think about the farthest i could go is 4.040"
i can also get heads
we'll see which one is the cheaper option
1978 Ford
i think that is approximately 5.7 liters
and if i get it bored it would be about 6.6 liters
q7 is too big for me tbh, don't want a 7 seater
i think the q7 is more than 5m long so instant no for me
question, what mileage by your experience do Oxygen sensors go out?
never
I don't have those
ok den
Lifespan on exhaust bearings?
about 20 miles
Gonna have to change them on the model S pretty often huh
If I end up building and keeping this 351 cleveland should I put it in a car (maverick or something) or a mini truck
Mini truck
Air suspension hmmm
Flashbacks to an R-class we had that was lopsided because both left shocks went
I probably wouldn't daily it
thoughts on the 2021 CLA 45S Amg
tru but afterall its the fastest 4 cylinder so cant say no
Just build in aftermarket powerstearing
If you really want to
Do a fox body, fox bodys are the best
I own one myself
Currently being restored btw
I rather have something less hot, and more smoother riding.
anyone recabled their subwoofer box (from car audio)?
How much fabrication will I need to do
We have a quick ratio steering system from a Shelby, I think thatβs as aftermarket as you can get
Lol
Wdym
The first time the cougar has been in a Ford dealership in 54 years
Oh
Well yeah, i dont think you will be able to fit a big block anyway, not sure
Idk what your plans are tho
I just want to make a cool engine and then make a cool car for as cheaply as I possibly can
What engine are you planning on?
I can send you some pics of the engine bay on both sides to judge if you have enough space or not if you want @fathom socket
351 cleveland is what I believe I have
I believe it is either a small block or a mid size block
Should probably fit with some adjusting of as you said the engine mounts etc
Ok
Depends on the headers you wanna put on it tho
I believe it has the same transmission mount/bell housing as a small block
Long tube headers are tricky, only specific ones will fit probably, ones that are made for the stock 302
I could fabricate an exhaust if it comes to that
Ok wait
Welp my internet is so bad here that it wont send the pics. I'll just keep em uploading i guess ull see when its done lol
Currently without headers on it tho @fathom socket
Yea probably
This will be my first major project outside of tractors
So that will be interesting
Indeed
The Previa's rear brakes were fucked, it's no wonder the pedal felt like ass
Handbrake? More like that handle you have no idea what it does
But replaced shoes, wheel cylinders, and drums; and it's made a world of difference
Didn't replace the hardware, unfortunately. The kit I was sent had the correct part number, but had nothing for my car in it
So I will have to complain/return that, but I cba to take it all apart again for new hardware
I'm scared of touching drum brakes
They're annoying, but not hard
The first time is the worst bc you're looking at an alien device. But every time after that it's simple, just time consuming and a pita
Doing the Previa's drums was dumb simple, but took me like 7 hours to do
I would have to replace my rear right caliper
Lmao, ok bot
should I replace both or I can only do 1?
Caliper? In a drum brake? What?
disc brake
Oh
some handyman welded bleeder screw
I mean, it'd be a good idea to replace or rebuild both calipers. Or replace one if it's toasted and rebuild the other so it's fresh.
That way you know both sides are good and you don't have to worry about impending doom from the old one
At least that's what I would do
I mean
basically both are good
it's just I can't bleed one of them because welded bolt
Well, my thinking is that you have one side brand spanking new and the other side is god knows how old. I figure it'd be just my luck to do the brake job and replace the one caliper, and then the other caliper blows out and leaks brake fluid everywhere
or bleeder valve
Why would you ever weld a bleeder screw in place lel
I know, I'm just trying to understand the 10 billion iq who did it
I'm still finding surprises in my car
What if you replaced the brake line? Like how would you bleed the caliper. Lmao, that's such a big brain play
Yea
It was great when I was taking apart the Previa's brakes. Fiddled with the shoes and then the wheel cylinder literally fell apart and leaked brake fluid everywhere
that doesn't sound good
And I was just like "no wonder I have to floor the pedal to stop"
I'm not sure if that's worse than the RX-7's rear brakes were. The wheel cylinders were completely seized and would not move
I guess it's in a similar category, just one was less messy
F
I need new calipers, new rear struts, replace steering rack, replace fender, fix water leaking inside car and probably something more
I somehow find the money to fix 4 cars and still have leftovers for more important things
I really can't afford owning a car
F
I really put my money on most basic maintenance
I change only oil and filters
and replace stuff when I have to
like when my right lower control arm broke in half
oh yeah
I know what else I need to repalce
this CV joint
or shaft
or whatever is called
looks like your stabelizer link had a nice go at your axle
i hope you replaced the inner tie rod heh
i love how chonky our old civics lower control arms are.
it was replaced
hot
Question for you guys, 993 or 997.2?
Would like a cabro, MT, under $60k to keep for a long time
993's seem like they'd be easier to fix as time goes on
but would like input
Quit my job and saw this on the way home lmao
@odd talon I like the 911 in general but the 993 is going up in value if I'm not mistaken
It's also the last aircooled 911 so definitely a future classic if it isn't already
Love the GT
That's my favourite GT
Yeah I donβt know if the cabrio will be worth anything
I'd leave the wing off though
That's a big investment
So perhaps a 430 spider should be considered too
Yes but the manual box has a much higher price
True
I know that feeling lol
I hate me sometimes.
One thing I hate about ferraris
The maintenance schedule
Other thing is that the leather dashes tend to get damaged
The 993 interior quality is meh but it will likely always stay that way
It's very 90s
But also still a 911
I guess it's mostly about which you like more personally
993 was considered a high point
And their value has been on the rise since the 997 dropped.

The 2021 Toyota Rav4 Prime is simply a fantastic v...
it looks pretty nice without clear coat i better tell my guy to hold off for a bit lmao
Lmao wat
yeh, lexus
Its a sign, you did the right thing
Looks like I got some bad valve seals
Mine only smokes like that for 2 - 3 seconds and it clears right up. Only on a cold start though
I've noticed there are a crap ton of vauxhall astras imported from UK
and a lot of other cars imported from UK
but the insurance is like insane
Why have RHD cars in Poland? Makes no sense
it's not just the el echeapo material. there are people boomer enough to import whatever some fujiwara drove in an anime cartoon..
the engines are mostly fine as far as i know
just stay very far away from easytronic
i drove one and it was garbage, shifts like a tank
I just rememberer we had a Astra H 1.7 CDTI and it broke in just 5000 km more than my focus did in 30000 km
1.3 CDTi = Fiat, 1.7 CDTi = Isuzu
Sure 2.0 CDTi 1.6 CDTi etc are Opel engines, but the Astra H mostly had other engines
Also: most important is maintenance, they can get very high mileage but often get cheaped out as they get older
yeah i noticed
most opel owners here don't seem to care a lot
but like some insignias such as the higher end models get the good treatment.
My Opel is in π shape
2012 Corsa π
don't tell me easytronic
Lol no manual
ah good π
I just don't really do anything to other than changing oils and filters
My parents had a 2003 Cors C Easytronic... shifts were slow but no other issues
the engine is fine
but not only that Astra broke so often
it had a 6 speed manual
but also it made me sick
the corsa i drove out of the driver's course auto was awful really
Ah yes zhe M32 gearbox has some problems
could not be inside for more than 15 minutes
i got the license on a juke which was manual, that thing was far better
the eastronic was just shaking the car all around during the shifts
also the car was slow as donkey
the only 2 automatics I drove was a 2011 audi a3 and 2014 VW polo
no matter what you did, even in the sport mode it would just go LOUDER BUT NOT FASTER LOL
the A3 prolly had a ZF
shifting like a maniac still can't pass good auto
like DSG.
My grandpa bought the Corsa C with Easytronic new... as he wanted an auto buy the 4spd slushbox was like 2k more, so the Easytronic was a great solution
i think that corsa was prolly a 1.0 or 1.2 or something
π because its not expensive as hell to maintain
