Just powder coat the entire disc pepebigbrain

fathom socket
#

Still confused lol

#

Ngl

#

I haven't driven it in a month

#

It's pretty dirty if I show you the front bumper and the side skirts lol

#

I'll clean it this saturday

#

The whole thing is getting nasty

#

Riding out in the pandemic is tough for me

#

Staying indoors is too comfortable if I'll be honest

civic girder
#

I was confused bc you said "let me show you before and then"
And then proceeded to show a picture of a Porsche and then a Mercedes.
So I was like.... "Did his porsche turn into a Mercedes....?!?!??"

fathom socket
#

But ever since then

#

It's been 9 years since I got a new car haha

#

So that's why earlier today I inquired about what comes next

civic girder
#

Minivan time

fathom socket
#

And 2022 is gonna be my tenth anniversary with the cedes, and I hope to add a new one to the bunch

fathom socket
#

But

#

Practicality wise, it's the same with all my other vehicles

civic girder
#

RX-7 time then

fathom socket
#

Imagine a front wheel drive minivan with an AMG m270 v12.

#

Now that's sick

civic girder
#

How would that even fit lmao

fathom socket
civic girder
#

F

fathom socket
#

It'll now be one guy and his rear engined fwd v12 minivan

civic girder
#

I don't think anything other than a boxer would fit in my minivan

stoic ledge
#

Espace F1 šŸ‘€

fathom socket
#

The only minivan that has a chance of tailing me when it's 2 am šŸ‘€

civic girder
#

Kinda hard to fit a V or inline engine when the stock inline engine is damn near horizontal

fathom socket
#

Literally impossible to fit it in the front

stoic ledge
#

Install an I6 on it's side pepebigbrain

fathom socket
#

You'd have to get a new powertrain and transmission custom built for this minivan

civic girder
#

That's the top of the engine

fathom socket
#

Yo

#

Imagine if

stoic ledge
#

Previa

fathom socket
#

You hooked up two R1 motors to the rear and front axles and shed as much weight as possible from that previa

#

šŸ‘€

civic girder
#

R1?

fathom socket
#

Yamaha r1

civic girder
#

Yikes

fathom socket
#

It's a motorbike with a v4 1k cc engine

civic girder
#

That probably wouldn't fit well

fathom socket
#

It'd definitely fit in the back don't tell me why šŸ‘€

stoic ledge
#

The only Yamaha I want is a 4.4 V8 in a Volvo

fathom socket
#

At the expense of your seats

civic girder
#

And the floor

fathom socket
#

Exactly

civic girder
#

Hard pass there chief

#

I already got a supercharger, what more could I need

#

Oh wait, I need another minivan

fathom socket
#

But imagine hooking up a

#

A modded 1uz in the back

stoic ledge
#

You need a wagon eastman

#

A Camry Wagon

#

With dual wipers in the rear

civic girder
#

Yes

stoic ledge
fathom socket
#

Lmao

#

Supercharged camry

civic girder
#

Or a Corolla wagon, doesn't matter

stoic ledge
#

But does the Corolla have double wipers? šŸ‘€

civic girder
#

I need more preserved 90s Toyotas

civic girder
fathom socket
#

It has twin turbos instead

civic girder
#

That sounds like a terrible idea

fathom socket
#

And it's turbine powered for some reason

stoic ledge
fathom socket
#

sHEESH

fringe lake
#

Y'all remember the 1UZ prius?

fathom socket
#

lmao show me it

fringe lake
#

Ecologically Terrible

#

k wait

civic girder
#

Damn, that's a lot for a 90s Camry

stoic ledge
#

Yes monkawew

fringe lake
#

ok 1jz but whatever

stoic ledge
#

84k miles tho

civic girder
#

Idk if I could pay $6k for that

#

Ok nevermind

fathom socket
#

The world's fastest prius

#

The ultimate prius

civic girder
#

Under 100k single owner, I'd pay that

stoic ledge
#

Why didn't you SadPuddlePepe

#

Imagine the buyer of that ricing the **** out if it

civic girder
#

Cause that's half of my savings and I have nowhere to park it

fathom socket
#

The pandemic hit me different

stoic ledge
#

Says the guy with a V12 AMG

#

šŸ˜›

fathom socket
#

Bro i bought it 9 years ago for literally dirt cheap

#

I don't buy cars from the dealer, never will

stoic ledge
#

How dirt cheap is dirt cheap monkawew 200k is not dirt cheap lol

fathom socket
#

But it was out of the lot, and had 3k miles on it already

#

Bur those times were the good times

#

As we speak rn, I have 14k in savings lol

#

I trapped myself with rent

stoic ledge
fathom socket
#

If I never spent the money on the cars I'd probably have gotten a whole house and not have have worry about 150k in rent lmao

#

I messed up

#

Owning these cars made it even worse

#

I voided my warranty 5 years ago, modded my merc and reflashed my ecu

stoic ledge
#

150k in rent monkawew

fathom socket
#

Worst mistake ever.

#

Let me tell you something about the mechanics in here

#

They are robbers

#

Thieves in the daylight

civic girder
#

The untold stories of people modifying newer cars

fathom socket
#

And sadly you can only trust them, they're all you have here

#

So now I have to put up with mysterious bills in the exporting of my vehicle every time anything goes wrong, uncharge on the simplest of things, and the humiliation of having no options

#

It's either I fix it or kiss it goodbye

#

And me being aa foolish as i am, would never throw away anything, even if it meant killing me

#

But I think it's time

#

Owning these beauts were the life, but living with them is not so ideal

#

If i want to seriously get my shit together

#

I'll have to set them aside until things get better

civic girder
#

Imagine owning german cars

fathom socket
#

This is what everyone here believes

#

And even I, have fallen to

civic girder
#

I find that to be utter bs lol

stoic ledge
#

Yes, Opel is the epitome of luxury

fathom socket
#

Tbh they're a joy to ride, unlike anything else tbh

stoic ledge
fathom socket
#

That's why I put the quotations haha

#

They're money pits

#

Total money pits

low carbon
fathom socket
civic girder
#

Most german cars are chock full of useless features, mechanical flaws, design flaws, and older ones especially aren't really that nice

low carbon
#

Honestly it all depends

#

My experiences have been perfectly fine

civic girder
#

At this point I think they really just have brand names going for them

low carbon
#

Just normal maintenance

#

Just not used to getting transmission fluid done hahahaha

fathom socket
civic girder
#

Normal maintenance that costs twice as much as other cars, if not more, because they're designed poorly

#

Everyone I've talked to who owns or has worked on any semi modern Mercedes says it's awful

fathom socket
low carbon
#

Too poor to get a merc

civic girder
#

My friend is afraid to touch his BMW most days lol

low carbon
#

I just settled on VW and Å KODA

#

No issues so far

fathom socket
#

Even with money

civic girder
#

Oh god, vw

fathom socket
#

The merc will just eat it all away

low carbon
#

What?

charred depot
#

vw isnt that bad here

#

i see alot of americans going oh nooo vw though

low carbon
#

Yeah exactly

stoic ledge
#

VW bad šŸ™ƒ

low carbon
#

Cause the American ones are shit

civic girder
low carbon
#

And people wonder why they’re so bad to work on

#

Everyone just leases them and does servicing at dealer now

civic girder
#

USDM VW has been absolute garbage for 20 years

low carbon
#

So they don’t bother

charred depot
#

vee dub in the house

fathom socket
#

But still

civic girder
#

I'm the same way, but yikes on Mercedes ownership

low carbon
#

All this VW bad rubbish and I’m sitting here like ok then what’s a better all rounder than a Golf R Wagon

fathom socket
#

Tbh, a good driver knows to enjoy the car as it comes

low carbon
#

Nobody makes small fast wagons anymore, only VW

fathom socket
#

I just wanted more and look what it did

stoic ledge
#

Focus ST Wagon?

fathom socket
civic girder
#

Wagons in general are basically a dead breed, so that's unsurprising

low carbon
#

And I hate Ford interiors

stoic ledge
#

Peugeot 308 SW GT is also quite fast

stoic ledge
low carbon
#

Again, not sold here

fathom socket
civic girder
#

Yea modern ford can't make an interior to save their life

low carbon
#

And those 308s are slow as fuck unless you get the GTi

fathom socket
#

Never rode or sat in one before though

stoic ledge
#

slow AF, the GT has 205hp which is fine

low carbon
#

Yes

#

Slow as fuck

civic girder
#

My dad's 2016 ford fusion hybrid is the most uncomfortable car I've driven

stoic ledge
fathom socket
#

I rode a 2006 308, it was

#

Uncomfortable

low carbon
#

Just cause my daily has 360hp, in a 1400-1500kg car that’s fine

stoic ledge
#

Ah yes the 2006 308, which didn't started production until 2007

fathom socket
#

I'm honestly confused

low carbon
#

Not my fault y’all Europeans love slow cars hahaha

fathom socket
#

I think I have photos of it on my old camera

stoic ledge
#

Ah yes the 2006 208, which didn't started production until 2012

fathom socket
stoic ledge
civic girder
#

Slow cars are superior, change my mind

fathom socket
#

I'm mistaken

#

It doesn't even have a 8

stoic ledge
#

Hi mistaken, I'm MK

fathom socket
#

It's a 206 LMAO

stoic ledge
low carbon
stoic ledge
#

Yes lets go back 2 gens to a car from 1996

#

Eastman has a Prius

fathom socket
#

Stonks go up with good cars 😶

low carbon
#

Prius are pretty fast in the hands of an Uber driver

civic girder
#

Prius mentality is only good when it's the correct Prius mentality

stoic ledge
#

Rentals are the fastest cars

low carbon
#

Had a rav4 2.5 rental car

#

Absolute pile of shit

civic girder
#

Anyone who thinks their Prius is good for the environment or whatever bs, they're dumb

#

Wot

civic girder
#

RAV4s are nice

fathom socket
#

Owning literally anything is a danger to the environment

low carbon
#

Never knew that

fathom socket
#

But if you care about that in your cars, that's a very limiting belief

civic girder
#

The Prius is just the god of fuel efficient daily commuters. Nothing more, nothing less. They handle well, but can barely get out of their own way

fathom socket
#

Cheap to maintain as well? Or nah

civic girder
#

Yes

fathom socket
#

Who am I kidding

low carbon
#

Ofc they’re cheap

civic girder
#

It's a Toyota

fathom socket
#

Toyotas the king of maintenance

#

I heard they're not even that efficient lol

civic girder
fathom socket
#

Huh?

fathom socket
#

Theyre on the top when it comes to fuel efficiency

civic girder
#

I literally own one, that's a bold lie

fathom socket
#

It was either that or emissions

#

Literally best bang for your buck in this regard

civic girder
#

Many cars have caught up in fuel economy, but the Prius is still in the top 3

low carbon
fathom socket
low carbon
#

Don’t call me bro

fathom socket
#

That's the prius I had in mind too

#

I will

civic girder
#

I can't watch the video at work, what mpg did the M3 get

low carbon
#

Better than your Prius

civic girder
#

Ok, give me a number then

low carbon
#

1

fathom socket
#

Eastman

civic girder
#

"better than your Prius" means literally nothing and invalidates your point

fathom socket
#

What model year is your prius from?

low carbon
#

Mans got no sense of humour

civic girder
#

I have a 2009.

fathom socket
#

He's joking btw

low carbon
#

You really think a top gear clip would provide an actual real world fuel economy stat

fathom socket
#

The og top gear were the greatest

low carbon
#

Tech discords be like

fathom socket
#

The new top gear is just empty

#

They have no soul but they have quality

civic girder
#

That's why you watch grand tour instead

fathom socket
#

Or just watch em all together

civic girder
#

I tried watching the new top gear, but it was just empty

charred depot
#

whend you get a prius

fathom socket
civic girder
charred depot
#

still have it?

civic girder
#

Yes

fathom socket
#

Someone backed into my car the other day... in the furthest corner of the parking lot...

low carbon
#

Should’ve bought a Prius

fathom socket
low carbon
#

What’s his dream

#

Upgrading to a new Prius?

charred depot
#

someone disloged my front bumper and drove off :^(

fathom socket
#

A 2jz + 1uz minivan from hell

stoic ledge
#

Best Prius is a Corolla

low carbon
#

You can go beyond a Prius PHEV?

civic girder
fathom socket
#

That's

#

a noble goal worthy of praise

low carbon
#

We do stan a V6 rav4

#

Too bad the new ones are shit

civic girder
#

Since when

fathom socket
#

Bro

charred depot
#

not a fan of the super eco cars as we tend to have these things called turns on our roads :^)

fathom socket
#

No

#

A hybrid highlander

low carbon
#

2.0 CVT go brrrrrrrrr

charred depot
#

werent the tyres they sold the prius with complete garbage

low carbon
#

RAV4 hybrid is fine

civic girder
#

RAV4s aren't the pinnacle of crossovers, but they're not shit

fathom socket
low carbon
#

The day I just give up on life I’ll buy a rav4

charred depot
#

fuel economy not the greatest neither noise

civic girder
#

My cousin has a 2018 rav4, it's nice.

low carbon
#

The rav4 is the epitome of ā€œthis car goes from a to b and that’s all that mattersā€

#

(For people that need a bigger car than a Corolla)

civic girder
#

Yep

#

Theyre fairly cheap, and are typical toyota reliable

#

Decent interior and build quality

#

But if you want an actually nice small suv, you get a Mazda instead

low carbon
#

Nah family friend has a CX-9, nice and luxurious but boring to drive

stoic ledge
#

My current "normal" tires have a better efficiency label as my previous eco tires

charred depot
#

i just look for wet grip

low carbon
#

Even for a family car I like to have something that I actually find a bit fun

charred depot
#

not sure how much the label is to be trusted for that

low carbon
#

@charred depot hankook noble are good value tyres in wet conditions

charred depot
#

dont look to have that big cutouts

low carbon
#

In my experience they’re quite good in the wet

charred depot
#

i like my current ones as they dont aquaplane on small puddles

low carbon
#

The S1 Evo2 is great too

charred depot
#

my car has pretty wide tyres for its weight so

stoic ledge
#

Ventus Prime 3 0_PogLick

low carbon
#

Prime 4 is coming out soon, hope it’s as good as the Primacy 4

stoic ledge
charred depot
#

probably be 20,000+ miles or a pothole until i need new tyres

low carbon
#

I get 22000 miles out of my pilot sport 4s

#

Not bad for predominantly chip seal roads

charred depot
#

thankfully the drain cover hadnt sank 5 feet into the ground like they usually do here

low carbon
#

Bruhhh why no embed

charred depot
#

what even is that, only got audio

#

oh a messed up range rover

low carbon
#

Normal Range Rover

charred depot
#

got a lift from someone in a range rover and the reverse camera got stuck on heh

civic girder
low carbon
low carbon
charred depot
#

maybe if he had his other hand free he could of honked heh

low carbon
#

It’s reflected in the engine tunes. The 2.5 turbo isn’t fun and dies out towards the top end, it’s all about low and mid end torque

charred depot
#

or you know drive like a sane person while around other people

low carbon
#

Which is perfectly fine, it’s just not fun

charred depot
#

I run into the most issues with suvs so no likey

low carbon
#

Too bad they cost way too much

#

Ironically sounds better than a 2021 M340i

charred depot
#

get a old one with water leaking into it then

low carbon
#

I’m good

#

I’m too used to cars with good standard equipment - in my country you don’t even get rear heated seats standard in the X5

civic girder
#

At least in economy/normal cars

low carbon
#

No, my Golf R has very good power throughout the whole rev range

#

Apples to oranges

fathom socket
#

Frick

civic girder
#

F

stoic ledge
fathom socket
#

Bolt snapped

#

How the heck do I fix it now

civic girder
#

New studs

#

Pressed into the hub from behind

low carbon
#

Plus I get 29.5mpg so for 360hp 350 ft lb

#

Not bad

charred depot
#

can get away with hammering them in a bit then tightening

fathom socket
#

Do you think driving with 3 lugs is a no

low carbon
#

It’s probably fine

charred depot
#

plenty of people have done it

low carbon
#

Depends what speed and distance

#

Driving around town for a few days should be fine

charred depot
#

i check mines every 50 miles because im paranoid anyway

low carbon
#

You should be able to phone into a tyre shop and get it sorted within 30mins hopefully

civic girder
#

Imagine only getting 30mpg KEKW

#

That's 90s Corolla mpg

low carbon
#

For a sporty car

#

It’s perfectly fine

#

I can afford it so it’s not really a problem

charred depot
#

my ecobox only gets 34 us mpg :^(

#

drivers fault

low carbon
#

Oh I can get that if I actually tried to drive efficiently

#

But life is too short for that

charred depot
#

with only having 80hp im flooring it everywhere

low carbon
#

With 360hp I’m flooring it everywhere

#

Every traffic light is a 0-50

charred depot
#

imagine traffic lights

low carbon
#

I hate roundabouts

charred depot
#

🤔

stoic ledge
low carbon
#

Probably because I go too fast around them and wear my tyre out

#

Plus the only time I ever use my horn is in big roundabouts because nobody here knows gap selection

#

After 37500km

charred depot
#

normal

low carbon
#

Alignment every 10000km and tyre pressures checked every week

#

Yet shoulder wear on the outer tyre

#

Can’t complain tho I got the mileage I expected from the tyre

charred depot
#

going to uni

low carbon
#

When I went to uni I just bussed

charred depot
#

i used to but it took over 2 hours on busses

#

and a general pita

low carbon
#

Oh ok that’s fair then

charred depot
#

4 connecting busses not very fun

low carbon
#

For the hours I were going there was a bus stop very close to my accomodation and it was mostly bus lane so took 20min

charred depot
#

im 30-40 miles away

low carbon
#

Driving anywhere between 10-35mins so stopped bothering to drive

#

In winter I did drive though because heated seats

charred depot
#

can get there in 30 mins in my car

low carbon
#

That’s fair then

charred depot
#

providing someone doesent crash :^ |

low carbon
#

Can practice precise driving taking roundabouts

charred depot
#

instead of just turning left going to the roundabout a mile down the road and doing a u turn theyd make stupid chances

fathom socket
#

tyreshop closes soon

charred depot
#

i had a opportunity to get a reliant robin for £400 but the insurance was not so friendly

#

would of gotten it for the hell of it otherwise

#

that ones causing a small queue but not as bad as the cyclist did

stoic ledge
#

I would not like to drive a Reliant Robin every day lol

#

Or even once every <long period>

low carbon
stoic ledge
#

I also use my car to go to uni POG

low carbon
#

All 4cyl smh

stoic ledge
#

Public transport would take me 3+hrs

#

Car is just 30min

low carbon
#

Might as well make it transverse and make the interior bigger

stoic ledge
#

And it's literally cheaper

low carbon
#

Thought Europe is the king of PT

#

Was great when I was there

charred depot
#

no one uses busses where i live

stoic ledge
#

Well 4cyl + longitudinal + RWD is still better than 4cyl + transverse + FWD

#

PT is fine is a big city

charred depot
#

im going from town to small snobby city

low carbon
stoic ledge
#

I live futher away of PT so we're not important šŸ™ƒ

charred depot
#

isnt the 1 series fwd now :^)

low carbon
#

Exactly

stoic ledge
#

Now I wouldn't

#

Yes

low carbon
#

Because 95% of the owners don’t care

charred depot
#

yes thats 90% of the cars here

low carbon
#

I can and I enjoy it but I don’t own any

stoic ledge
#

Imagine thinking it's special to drive "stick"

charred depot

murica hours

sacred osprey
#

BMW, when I was looking at them, has barely any manual transmission vehicles.

charred depot
#

ive only been in 2 automatic cars as a passenger

low carbon
#

My local Å KODA dealer is very nice and lends me an Octavia RS manual for the day every few months

charred depot
#

a funeral car and a skoda octavia where the person driving it was disabled

low carbon
#

I don’t get what’s with Americans and manual Golf Rs

#

They act like manual Golf Rs are the dogs bollocks but the DSG suits the car far more

charred depot
#

i dont see many 500's where i am

sacred osprey
#

Lucky.

low carbon
#

Now a GTI a manual is nice to have

charred depot
#

steweoptypes are siwr

low carbon
#

Too bad the Mk8 GTI CS is DSG only

charred depot

suv drivers i have issues with up north

stoic ledge
#

Mk8 < Mk7.5

low carbon
#

Agree

sacred osprey
#

Abarth 500s are cool though.

low carbon

Hence why I was looking at upgrading my Mk7 to a Mk7.5

Too bad COVID has fucked the pricing of the used market

The Abarth 595 is an amazing hatch

#

Those are small my today’s standards

charred depot

An E46 doesent even fit in my garage

sacred osprey

I really want a Renault Wind.

charred depot

and thats not because of stuff in there just where the walls are

sacred osprey
#

Look at this disgusting thing.

low carbon
#

E46 best older 3

sacred osprey

It's beautiful.

charred depot

id like a E36 but they are hard to get now

I need one thats unbutchered so i can actually insure it

Nah not a fan

charred depot

Modern classic sure

charred depot

in the UK a E36 is certainly a classic

I nearly picked one up last year.

charred depot

going to get a cheap e46 to learn the pain of working on bmw's and learn to weld on cars

sacred osprey
#

Got into a crash and was this close.

Learn to weld off the car.

MX6 for sale, more power than a MX5 but not rwd :^/

#

quirky i guess

low carbon
#

A long while ago

charred depot
#

suprised you guys got compacts

low carbon
#

Not bad for what probably was £500

#

Being a factory manual was half of that £500

charred depot
#

is that the 316 with the 1.6?

low carbon
#

316 swapped with a 318 motor apparently

#

Couldn’t tell the difference

charred depot
#

i liked how well built the e36 1.6 and 1.8's looked

low carbon
#

The fucker was running on 3cyl

charred depot
#

all plasticy after that

low carbon
#

It’s an alright car

#

Great around the paddock

charred depot
#

no one really cared for the compacts here so they are all tin cans now

low carbon
#

We bought it only to use as a paddock car

charred depot
#

e46 compact remains but i dont know what they were thinking with the frontend

low carbon
#

Compacts are shit

#

Especially the e36

charred depot
#

id prefer the e36 compact to the e46 compact

#

funnily enough more expensive to insure a compact than the normal car

low carbon
#

Fair

charred depot
#

the transformation

low carbon
#

The tourings are awesome

charred depot

from cars shows to..

#

friend that owns it now

#

i prefer the orange corner lenses on the e36

#

I like E39's but i dont think i have the space for such a long car

stoic ledge
#

I barely ever see an E36 nowadays

#

Even E46's are getting rarer

charred depot
#

me neither that one was well cared for until..

#

only 80k miles on the car, has a engine swap.

#
