I can't drive with my knees because I drive stick
I only drive stick for my dump truck
Niice
It's just 250 miles of a straight road.
no such thing here
And my dump truck does not go far or fast enough that I'm ever worried about how I drive the damn thing haha
What road is that? Sry I just got here
one sec
sorry i live in the UK 250 miles is an insane distance to me
Feeling a bit jealous of Carlo right now if I'm being honest
not much over 300 for me to go to the other end of the UK heh
Ah, yeah I think I've been there before
80mph speed limit?
South Dakota has the 80.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggKFMhRwLbk Here we go.
Time-lapse from Bismarck to Fargo. Beautiful day with very little traffic. Unfortunately battery ran out a few miles outside of Fargo, but close enough, right? Please like, subscribe.

Out here on south western side all interstates must have curves every so often by law so there is no such thing as straight hundreds of miles 😔
Need to get a charge mount for my go-pro. Then I can just film the entire trip.
I-39 here in Illinois is pretty straight for about 40 miles
And not do a timelapse. lol
im lead foot in this video the entire time by the way
I need to edit a few more videos.
If I buy a beater maybe start doing more about it.
the car im passing is also the same car im driving
I need a car for myself in general
damn I miss Japan.
i tend to put myself on the most cursed roads possible so im rarely on the motorway
The countryside has excellent roads.
Like honestly? Best country for driving around is Japan.
Plenty of convenience stores, decent enough interstate.
I could never learn Japanese though
we have the best b roads ofcourse
why i need a new lower control arm i do not know
i only really need the ball joint but you just replace the entire thing
Flying down an empty Arizona highway going 104-96 in an FiST
i got pushed home by a fiesta st once :^|
It was a great car
he chickened out on a bend so i win anyway :^)
theres alot of fake fiesta ST's around here
The day we traded it in
more than fake M bmw's heh which is truly impressive
behind a E46 with one which was throwing out a intresting amount of soot for being a 320D M3
all our motorways are littered with speed cameras so no speedy speedy for me
its great 60mph on a battered narrow road through villages which people are allowed to walk on + horses A ok
80mph on a empty motorway: criminal scum
we would potentially have a 80mph motorway limit if it werent for emissions.
just got told that only body on frame SUVs can tow boats
the dodge durango would like to say hello
I am not to worried about that right now they are sitting in their garage while they are in Florida or something can’t go get them till mid April and when we do it’s 4 hours one way plus loading and returning 4 hours home but it’s everything you need for such a amazing deal it’s worth it
the current generation
pretty impressive that you can tow up to 8700lb with the new ones
Modern unibody crossovers and SUVs are pretty strong.
yep
Bc they roll
my car started making concerning clicking noises
and then when I wanted to record it
it went away
Just turn the music up
Could be worse
Mates Audi Q5 broke down just now two days after it got back from the shop lol
mine broke right after inspection
I've been lucky because it would not pass inspection if my LPG conversion broke
love the fact that car is cheaper than public transport
But at least my stag installation is modern
Like it was put in my focus in 2012
But I can't check it because it's just crammed in the engine bay and I don't dare removing some engine accessories
And I don't have a lift
Im trying to shove my Skyline through MOT
but they care about emissions and rear foglights and horns and shit so
Anyone heard of sherp??
Yeah. They are kinda stupid for normal people. They have a very special usecase.
Yeah tho I would love to have one someday for offroading
I mean you can practically go anywhere
more than half the height of the car is wheels
I really got to drive the SHERP for Road & Track! Check out the written review (and amazing Dave Burnett photo gallery) here!
https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/car-accessories/a28215381/sherp-off-road-review-test/
The SHERP ATV is the closest thing to a truly all-terrain vehicle that exists for sale, anywhere. It can drive across any su...
thats a nice micra
Had a Mini meetup a few months back (we own the red one)
I got a better picture somewhere if I cant find it real quick
Is that a BMW 👀
A Mk4 Supra isn't a BM lol
VTAK!
Just got my first car (I mean the first that I own lol). I know it’s not a Miata, but this is what I had money for 😅
downbadgedgoodbois
Wait that’s illegal
great wheels
overbite
Cleaning today, soon they'll be waterblasted (like sandblasting but smoother)
and after that, new paint
got me a Jeep Grand Cherokee
my friends had his rear subframe out in a parking lot
I don't have pressure washer to wash brake dust off my wheels
And I don't feel like doing that in shower cabin
dont need one
not worried about stuff snapping etc?
🤷♀️
everyone kept bothering me to help with their cars so I had enough and just did it lmao
What car?
Grand Cherokee.
All Volkswagen group cars are just rebadged Volkswagens
- a Volkswagen fan
depends on the model
the only vw on the mlb platform is the touareg but yes an a3/q3 is just a fancy golf/t-roc
which is why i tell people unless you want an rs3 just get a golf
Which VAG platform is exclusive to a single model?
they use mainly two modular chassis architectures yes
however the mqb platform which vw use for most of their cars is only used by seat, skoda and lower end audis
the a4 isn't a rebadged passat in the way the superb is a rebadged (albeit slightly longer wheelbase) passat
so not ALL vw group cars are 'rebadged' vws
you can say that the bentley flying spur is a rebadged porsche panamera, but you can't say that they're rebadged vw arteons
amarok
The Amarok might be one of the few that don't share a platform with anything else from VAG.
Oh, wait. Nevermind.
which isn't available yet
so currently, it is on a vw-engineered platform for that sole model
Yeah. But that's probably because it's one, if not the only one that's on body-on-frame.
the current volkswagen group range consists of four modular platforms
that's the way that most big manufacturers are going
Yeah. Which is understandable.
my point was that not all volkswagen groups are 'rebadged' volkswagens
so i'm still correct on that point
Even if they were. That would just mean that you could get a lot of value getting a higher end platform of a low end model.
sure
Feel that you would get lightly better QC of those.
just like how a volkswagen touareg has a lot of the chassis tech of the higher end models
so it's a good thing really, the tech seems to trickle down more than with other brands. it's different nowadays though with the latest tech being debuted on lower end cars, like how the mercedes a class was the first to get the latest mbux infotainment system
s class is the first however to get the updated 'separated' portrait screen
speaking of mercedes: new c class got leaked
mercedes really do be beating audi's game of making all their models look the exact same
I would say that sharing platform should make cars cheaper. But I guess development is still pricey. And cars just keep getting more tech in them. So the purchase price is offset by that...
Not to mention that the number crunchers would rather take the savings and keep it for themselves.
the volkswagen mqb platform did cost $60b to develop, so it's obvious why they want to get as many models on the platform as possible
How many models are using the MQB platform? 40?
too many to list lol
if you include all the chinese cars on the platform easily 40 currently
One platform to rule them all.
approx 50 that are in production
And then you have the same engine in each of the cars. Which is a lot more understandable.
in the sense that they all share common engine families?
Yeah.
yep
mainly ea211 for lower powered petrol, ea888 for higher power petrol, and ea288 diesel
i've got two mqb cars, one with an ea888 and one ea288
I like the modular BMW engine they have. Inline one.
3/4/6 cylinders. All the same stroke and bore.
yep
was considering ordering an m340i, but they neutered the sound with 2021 models
and i don't want to mess with the warranty to get fun noises back
And all 2021 models are mild hybrids now, aren't they?
yep
which i personally don't have any issue with. ever since driving the mercedes-amg gle 53 with mild hybrid tech i was hooked
I can dig the 53 engines. Love an inline 6.
the start/stop system is so damn smooth on it, wouldn't ever bother turn it off. too bad they didn't make a c53
the c43 seemed to consume far more gas than the m340i in my experience. the c43 sounds leaps and bounds more exciting than the bmw though
Would love a M340i. If only they didn't have the new 'fancy' digital displays.
i personally don't mind it, you have a heads up anyways to see your speed
I just much prefer the more simplistic sweeping needles.
Yeah, I think so too. But you're really limited with the surrounding options if you want that.
yep unfortunately
First sunny weekend here
more I look. More I like the Mach E.
It looks ok but it should have just been called the Mach E
Rather than Mustang Mach E
Mustang branding is stronger.
Bronco Mach-E
I love the engineering of the Koenigseggs.
facts, the doors especially
I'm all about that power/drivetrain.
then i got something else for you
still a bugatti
lmao
better for your taste?
I need an 89 NS(e)X in my life
Odd that the lever you'll use more often is further away
I don't fully understand the 4wd 2wd lever
2WD > 4WD (when there is slip?) > 4WD > Neutral > 4WD Low
I don't think you'll be shifting 35151 times from 2WD to 4WD LOW to .... but shifting from drive to park to reverse you'll do way more often
So it would make sense to have those closer to the driver
so the part time is like 4x4 panda?
the 2nd gen one
Part-time will be mostly 2WD but 4WD when needed
Idk what type the Panda uses
I'd have to look it up lol
its in the perfect place too
Handbrake turns > shifting
handbrake in my focus is covered my the arm rest
just remove front brakes
Mine is partially covered by the arm rest but I can reach it just fine (for normal use)
I can't reach it when the armrest is fully down
I've broke it like 5 times already
Lol
because let's face it
self tapping screws
in plastic
I kind of want to make my own little center console out of plywood
It's reachable
and put raspberry pi
instead of bt radio
would be fun if I could integrate obd scanner in the pi
Lhd weird
Same can be said with imperial units.
my cars in km lol
also the broken ass truck I drove
I need to fight with the gear stick to put it in reverse
2WD: rear wheel drive only
4 Part Time: locks front and rear axles together, do not use on paved surfaces as it can cause damage to drivetrain components. Off road/snow only!
4 Full time: powers front and rear axles but allows slip between them through use of a center differential. This can be used on any surface or condition
Neutral: allows flat-towing as the transfer case is disengaged from the transmission
4 LO: Locks front and rear axles together just like 4 Part Time, but also adds a 2.72:1 gear reduction, giving you 2.72 times more torque at the wheels but makes your Jeep 2.72 times slower. Not recommended for use above 25mph. Also, not for use on paved surfaces. Off road/snow only!
Anyway. reason for lever positions is probably placement of transmission and transfer case.
seems like it.
I know one of the dudes that helped take the jesko around the US
Yikes
Whats "Yikes" about that?
Flashbacks to hardcore fanboys
So?
So it made me go yikes
What a weird thing to add to a conversation from a while ago
mans says yikes to JDM, but drives this 👀
as what
I mean it was made in Japan, so yeah
Cool
not my favourite of the Z bodies
just has really ghastly headlights
would rather have them as S13 style popups
They are nice
Jdm in Poland be like
Buys a 90s common Honda Civic
Puts a fart can and a wissle
And jdm stickers
People misuse the term JDM all the time, calling stuff JDM which was sold in many more markets
Well its stuff thats meant for the Japanese market, but is also exported elsewhere
It doesn't really exist these days, since global exports is so easy, and they can either centralise or decentralise production in different countries
and have country specific models etc
That's why I joke about my Corolla being JDM.
It's built in Japan.
That being said the JDM Corolla Sport should be more or less the same as the USDM platform wise... engine and transmission choices are different.
Sedan not so much.
if its LHD, it's not JDM
As I said. That's why I joke about my Corolla being JDM.
The term is meaningless.
My Corolla is more JDM than the Mirage or Hilux.
Which is why that SMZ isn’t really jdm
car built for japan = jdm
My favorite car is the Prius
Lol
no
Yes
Winter here is like 50F lol
here it was like
rain and -5c outside
It was -30°C or -22°F the other day here
the lowest I want was -26c
Coldest I've seen is -40F/C
But not here, here the coldest I've seen is like 18F
but I think it's not as bad as in texas
my partner is from texas
Nice, I'm in Houston
Oh that's not good
and home was basically flooded
the worst part of the winter was -5c and rain
basically the road was ice
I've drifted by going like 5kmh
how many miles on your skooda
~160k miles
When it was that temp here the flooder in the carburator on my dads old truck froze so it was overflown with fuel lol
160k miles? Still young.
yes
M3? If yes, manual?
Nah it's an octavia vrs but yes it is manual
Oh dang it really looks like an e36 M3 in dakar yellow from that angle lol

Yeah it seems to turn just fine, just cutting the power a bit when trying to accelerate with the wheels still turned on a wet surface
also i don't know why anyone would take a corner that fast when driving "normally"
could be just perspectives tho
Because
what is TC?
traction control
is it even useful in slow cars
wait actually lemme check if my car has it or not (probably does tbh)
i guess
sometimes i break the wheels loose while pulling onto busier roads where gaps are rare and questionable
never seen a angry light flashing at you in the honda?
not really
i mean i drive slower in the rain, but i feel like the honda never goes full accel from 0
this UK right?
Theres a really dodgy bend on the road from St Andrews to Crail
Dont think your sentence is posh enough for someone travelling from St Andrews
I just pass through after terrorising the students 👀
Had a friend in high school that managed to get into St Andrews uni
just surrounded by rich kids heh
English too
We went for a subway yesterday and was getting some amount of looks for cutting about in rig
cant believe a lowly establishment such as subway is allowed to exist in st andrews
I like dodgy bends
committing onto a bend you cant see at 60 on a road you have never driven :^ )
i dont actually know st andrews that well, just hear things
Y’all use mph or kph?
mph
Itd be a fine road if it was closed off and I was the only one on it
I use both
Bc jap car
most insulting thing someone can do is not indicate left when going left at a roundabout
that pain of slowing down then seeing them yank the wheel to the left
Or just not indicating at all on a roundabout
What a nonce
even with my messed up indicator mechanism i still do it
if i turn so far right with my right indicator on it turns it off, very helpful car thanks
God you don’t know about motorbikes here
swerved around a giant puddle and the guy behind me with yellow tinted fog lights on without need dived straight into it
no rear cam though :^ |
is it the engine 👀

wonder when our civic with throw a big issue
so far only brakes / suspension but that could be attributes to general wear
still havent had it put out the abs code hopefully its a sensor again and not the module
i may be getting insured on it in which case it would be getting tonnes of parts including tyres that allow you to take a roundabout faster than 20mph in the wet
My pedal jitters when mine activates but I think that's just because of the fluid being manipulated and not a purposeful warning
Yea mine does this as well
No dash indicator tho
Now that I'm driving in winter I wish I didn't have it lol I need to build proper panic braking reflexes and snow is perfect for that
because that car was made with it, it needs to be working to pass the MOT
Ew
ABS is a good thing to have.
You can't
You absolutely can
Modern ABS will work on a per wheel basis
I don't have modern abs
You can work 4 at a time, no less.
And you can still practice
Just run the brakes just enough to avoid abs
The problem is when the car thinks it needs abs
If it goes on, slippage has been detected
I can outperform abs
just disconnect all your wheel speed sensors
I just need to outperform it in an emergency
Idk how the system in my car is specifically I think since it has abs the speedo works off the wheel sensors
i dont think they have gone that far with cost reduction yet
use an arduino to fake the signal 🧠
our civic seems to chew through the wheel speed sensors, we do buy cheap ones though so i guess you get what you pay for
some guy made an arduino program to simulate an engine for the rx8 so they could do a electric swap without the car assists getting pissy
Anyone got experience with the mazda miata lineup? was thinking of getting an old miata
ive seen those alot in my town lol
8 ft trucks are the realm of contractor trucks in the US
So F150, Ram 1500 classic, and Silverado
Or Tacoma
if you're looking for a truck with an 8' bed it's probably going to actually get used as a truck, so a taco isn't the best option
they're good but light
Tacos don't die
most other trucks will, unless they have one of the blessed engines; even then they'll still rust into oblivion
tfw my shitbox from the 90s has an amazing ABS system
I have an abs system 😎
This truck is super basic
5 speed, v6, no cruise control, manual windows, manual locks, manual mirrors, no ac
yet still has proper wiper controls
yet my car in a country with constant rain just has slow slow constant and speed
1998, my car has fully electric folding mirrors, heated front and back windscreens, xenon lights, a special rear wheel steering system, electric windows all round, and an AC that has a range from 18C to 34C because fucking reasons
i thought ford had a patent on heated front windscreens or some shit
Audi has a rear wheel steering system unique to Nissan?
sad clio is sad
Genuine wipers
I had to take a cut off wheel to the last 14" wiper I had so itd fit
the hook is a dumb ass shape
cant run my rear wiper once
I just get the Bosch wipers which fit my car lol
has to do 3 slow cycles
I can blip mine once
Lol that's stupid
also where they put the washer jet it misses half of the wiper
Its oem or modify for the rear wipers lmao
Mine basically is on/off in the rear but just tapping it twice makes it go once 😛
What Mazda do you have?
05 Mazda 3
i feel like im being nosey when i wipe my rear window when someones behind me
I'll spray my windshield with cars next to me while stopped lol
the furthest sprayers completely miss my windshield and hit anything the lane over
Bosch H351 should fit 😛
my sprayers got clogged a week or so ago and the wipers just smeared salt all over the windscreen
turned the corner into low sun :^ |
The notch doesn't look sharp enough
If Bosch says it'll fit I trust them 😛
I exclusively use Bosch wipers, they just wipe the best in my experience
And it's not like they're expensive, like ~€20 for a front set and <€10 for a rear one, for €30 I'm set for multiple years
ive had a bit of my dashboard off for a week and surface rust has appeared on the metal structure just from the lack of plastics
I'll try to remember to get bosch next time I need them
You're in the US right? Idk if you can get Bosch there, maybe you can idk
clean before
Is that all plastic keeping the shifter in place?
mhm?
That's the shifter assembly no?
Idk if mine is being held in place by some plastics... That seems like is could be an issue when the car gets older
Idk lemme check
nylon in a enclosed cabin so not likely to cause any issues
Looks like it's metal in mine
Although the lever you pull to put it in reverse appears to be some sort of plastic
what car
yeah its not a cable setup

closer to steering wheel better for speedy shifts :^)
Imagine steering with 2 hands and not have 1 hand at/near the shifter at all times
🙃
incase you need to go full lock speedy quick
Wow RSQ8!!
Guys i need help with my car, it wont start, it just clicks
https://streamable.com/ttagm1
any idea whats wrong?
raise your volume
checked battery voltage / tried to jump?
not sure why it would pulse like that though
didnt try to jump but i replaced the battery with another new battery, a multimeter says the original one was fine tho
i guess id check to make sure the terminals arent corroded at the starter or battery
i guess ill check for the starter
but is it the starter thats making the clicking noise?
or a relay
i see
the clicking every few seconds is weird to me
if i had to make a wild guess id say there was a short somewhere or a bad connection at the battery causing so much power to be drained the confuser completely blacks out has to rescan the key chip.. and repeats
but in reality i have no idea
maybe but if u pay close attention 2 of the dash lights stay on the whole time
but ive got a general idea whats going on now i guess
not sure then just trying to guess why it resets every 2 - 3 seconds
ill check the terminals to the starter tomorrow
and if not i already checked the fuses and relay
and a new starter itself isnt that expensive
be interesting to see if it still does the 2 - 3 second cycle with the starter disconnected
i didnt even think of that lol
If you could check the codes somehow that would probably help
Some cars have a built in way to check without a scanner
Yes, but Jeep good for health.
NO
Relay/solenoid may have corroded contacts if the lights stay on
I off road in a geo tracker
Jeeps are out of my budget
bike good for health cuz moving make fat go adios
okay i see
Because the draw of the battery is what makes the lights go off
The Suzuki was out of my budget.
The Jeep was not. lol
Got the old school 4.0. All I need is diff locks I suppose.
Yo brothers
What do I spend the next ten years saving for? Any recommendations? I'm used to saving for european sedans and the such, but I'm now open to japanese classics and I'm really hyped, I just want your recommendations brothers
will it instead get butchered like the IS200 :^)

not even the autos were safe
i want an LS400
buy it
At least the first 4 gears work then, the truck I drive doesnt want to go into any gear
had to take turns on 6th gear
Its kinda fun driving a truck that is a workout at the same time lol
Also this sisu sk181 can do donuts so theres that lol
the other truck I drive requires a shit ton of force to drive
and then I go to car
and basically just floor it
and change gears with too much force
Yeah that happened to me too before I got used to it
ick
what the heck is a SISU and why the heck is yours the SK181? what kinda naming scheme is that???
I have a 1993 Talbot express camper van
and changing gearas in that thing
I have never heard of Talbot either
is like wrestling a friggin bear
This thing? @vagrant dune
Yes, its the off road army variant
Ol military truck for the boys ey
Mine looks more like the second one
I always remember seeing these on the road in the US, how do they drive?
I mean
it's from 1993
it has a really hideous manual gear box
a carburetor
and no power steering
Ouch
Dude, the sk gearbox isnt straight like every gear you move your hand a bit to the right
Not like 1st and 2nd left, 3rd and 4th middle etc
Wheel doesn't turn lightly
Luckily has that
I one day want to drive a car with super strong power steering
How do I explain it
Basically just high sensitivity but for steering
Try a scania g490 lol
I hate the camper but my wife loves it
What's up with that car?
Its a big ass modern truck with light steering but you need to turn the wheel like 4 times to do a full turn lol
Scania G490 is a full on HGV
4 rotations each way to turn so in total you can do like 8 rotations to turn that thing lol
Wowza
Its mad comfy tho, I would gladly daily drive one
Not from my own pocket tho, expensive as fug
There is probably a private individual out there who owns one of these just for doing personal deliveries
I doubt it
Its possible
I doubt they have any private sales at all
Well actually
you might have some one or two man businesses that have lorries like that
Iirc it was sweden where you can have a car at 15 years old but limited to 40 kph
like for a removal company
So someone had a full on scania for going to school
😂
I mean that would be lit tho
Damn right
would it?
Just pulling up to school with the Scania with a trailer hooked up
You'd be able to bring your entire class with you
As I said, if I dont have to pay I would daily a scania gladly
Well obviously but trucks are expensive
Like I am buying an audi rs etron gt in summer and that scania is like 4 times more expensive still
I kind of want to buy a truck and convert it to camper
Holy shit
Same
I've seen trailers being converted to homes
400k+ for a Scania? Jeez
600k
Yeah lol
pulls up to school in the Scania with all 30 of his classmates in the trailer
And the diesel cost, 😬
Like 60 when trying to drive as economically as possible
Maybe I can put in my bio that I drive a 100k+ euro vehicle
60/100km I mean
60 liters a KM?
Or 60 per 100km
oh
so at 100 per 100 that's a liter per KM
Jeez
I've got like 999
That's basically a dollar a km if you put it like that
Like press gas and slurp there goes a few euros already
I can't imagine electric trucks
The battary would need to be heavy and able to deliver more current than my entire complex does
I mean tesla semi seems promising
I don't really think that electric vehicles are viable if all we do is burn coal and the 2 charging stations in my city are broken
Luckily burning coal is illegal here
Let's carry 10t in batteries to move 3t of cargo
Most power plants and hest in homes comes from coal
Gas is too expensive to heat home with
Here its mostly solar, wind and a bit nuclear
And we don't even have a single nuclear power plant
Nuclear is the way to go
Everywhere
In 2018 the powerplant here in finland was the 2nd most expensive building in the world
And making cities so you can only drive with electrical cars is a bad idea
Olkiluoto 3
We produce nearly 60% of electricity by using natural gas, 16.5% by coal, 9.5% by wind, 4.3% by solar and only 3.2% nuclear
So 75% is from a non-renewable source
Yet we promote EVs big time
Gotta love it
Well it's still a emissions improvement
I think 60% here is coal
And we basically wanna force everyone to drive ev
It's mostly about money than ecology
Imo we need more push about renewable power sources
Tesla has been selling solar panels but not pushing them as hard as their vehicles
I just feel that electric vehicles are just a gimmick for rich people
If we get better batteries and better energy generation then no
Tesla is not the only one with solar panels tho 🙃
Anyways, solar alone won't cut it
We have the entire roof of our house filled with solar panels, it barely covers our home production
Adding an EV (or even 2), we would need way more power
Also, you also produce a lot even when you're not using it. So for that you'd have to add a home battery which is expensive AF
Which still wouldn't make it possible to charge your car overnight
And ofc, solar power isn't consistent. You need something stable besides it (like nuclear)
Don't get me wrong, solar is great and if you can afford it, it's definitely worth the investment
or even can get
If I could move to switzerland I would get an electric motorcycle
but I need license for that sadly there
I can drive a 11 KW motorcycle here
but in switerland I can't

I read up on it
And it's the one I wanna take home...
I've been eyeing the LC500 for years now, but I thought owning it would be impractical until i realised how wrong I was lmao
I didn't even consider reliability at the time, but now it's all I want
Having a Japanese sedan with the heart of a LC500 and the reliability that comes with the name of Lewis, its definitely the one to take home
Owning and maintaining german vehicles is a headache once they're out of warranty, you always gotta export em for literally any issue, I live in the middle east and our mechanic shops are not even worth breathing in
I have two options to choose now, either the LC500 or the IS500, once I scrap the old Mercedes it's all good
Lmao typoo

But seriously
I'd dig a LC/IS500
These four years will be very long lmao
Im thinking of dropping my daily driver too 💀
Daily a IS500
Tbh resale for a 2012 s65 is garbo...
:surprisedpikachuface:
I expect a maximumof 10% of the original retail price
If that lmaooo
Not worth it at all
Thank god for rich people
I found my exact spec listed for 65k AED 😔
Lmao
Many people here loan their lives away in dubai
Unlike me who saves for yearsssss
Wanna see my ride 👀
I'm in the br rn gimme a min
It can't be better than my 1.2 16v I4 with 83hp
If leasing wasn’t so shit in my country I would
The minute passed 😈
Cars don’t come from the factory used do they
Hi done I'm MK
So? 😛
Leasing or just buying new means used cars for ppl
I’ve contributed to that. I’m just saying that if you have the money to buy new (as I do) you might as well just lease unless you plan to mod etc.
However there little long term hire options in my country so there’s no point, I just paid cash
Idk I'd just pay for it at once if I had the money or intend to get a new car
But I don't fancy the 50% depreciation in 3 years 🙃
If you have the spare cashflow why not honestly
If you treat cars as a hobby then IMO you could spend more than the r/personalfinance 10% of annual income on a car, if you wanted to. All depends on your financial position
spending 50% on car stuff :^ |
im a clown living with my parents though with no reliable income stream
Bought a ŠKODA Kodiaq in 2017 for circa $65k, sold in 2019 for 42k...thanks to COVID there’s literally lower spec ones with 2x the km selling for 47k

Oh Jesus no not 50%
I just don't fancy spending money I don't have, that's why I wouldn't buy a car on a loan
I'm back
If something would happen, I won't have to pay anyone or anything. It's mine
Hi back
I intend to get another car soon
I know some people in the UK that’ve somehow saved money instead of paying cash by financing and just paying it off in a month
Manufacturer rebates etc. none of that in my country
someone bought a factory crashed car
thats interesting
That sounds slightly illegal?
they sold him as new
Oh that’s fucked
I think I’ve heard that before though
That's definitely illegal
my car is a crash car but it has 70k miles :^)
VW got stung once for selling preproduction cars
Yikes
Well Tesla's also come broken from the factory
It should've been branded as such
Haha Tesla bad
broken is a different thing
lada should make electrics / hybrids
Tbh I'd get a tesla, but Im not fond of their batterys and interiors
we might get something not bloated
Their battery tech is some of the best value wise though
The #1 I'm not fond of is the business behind it
It doesn't
Bc stonks
Rumors are coming out that employees are being exploited of their wages and that the working conditions is subpar
Why can’t anyone just make a mildly quick AWD EV wagon
And also, its a business after all, they invest and are invested in, so that's why their value is so high, but sadly with their "quality" it's clearly just a game to them, no passion
cause the customers want hefty chonker suvs
Sweet
Just give it a mid-late 4s 0-100, 400km range and I’ll place a deposit
Honestly brother.
my car has a 14 second 0-60mph :^|
My dream is to get a 992, and electrify it haha
mine on does il less than 10 seconds
It’s not like I need a super fast car, 4s is fast enough
from 0-100 kmh
Imagine giving classics a electric powertrain
The sheer power they'd have
4s is fast as feck
if I can get enough grip
Eh it’s quick but not exactly 911 turbo s
The s65 is so torquey, that 0-100 is way slower than 100-200 due to how much grip is lost in the first powerband
4-5s to 100kph is all you ever really need
14s
911s are blisteringly fast
Yep
14 seconds trying to join a busy 60mph road pls dont hate me
But it gets boring if you like having a licence
Im thinking of buying a 2017 911 turbo s, it's my favorite model ever made
id love even a 10 second 0-60
FFS I wish leasing wasn’t so expensive in my country
An ecu tune can easily pop out an extra 60-100 hp, but the panemeras are were ecu tunes shine
<10s would make wou faster than everything here as people are just sleeping
Swap the intake on the panemera turbo s, ecu tune it for accel, trust me it goes too fast for its own good, all while being some what of a daily driver
US$1250 a month for a 36 month lease on a Mercedes C43, and that’s with US$22k down
FFS I wish cars weren't so expensive in my country
just for pulling out onto a 60mph road and not having someone fly up behind you instantly
i am sorry sir im trying my best
The dealers here come with a passive 20% inflation from their asses.
Meanwhile in the US people are paying $0 down and $600 a month
A s65 is supposed to be around 250k abroad, its sold for beyond 300k, and people feed this market with loans
The dealers in Dubai know that the people are desperate
If only people knew what importing is 🙃
European manufacturers are beginning to lose their touch
Caring more about revenue than innovation and the such
They're sticking to their good old successful formulas and it seems to work for them, but not for enthusiasts lmao.
If only reliability and maintenance were at the top of their agenda now
You can tell that touchscreens are now cheaper than having buttons hahahaha
Audi literally messed up so bad, creating the Audi Q5 from 2013 onwards, with the shittiest maintenance history my entire bloodline ever faced
actually LMAO
There's this company called designo that mod cars and tailor it for people, and they sold their minimum luxury set for the s65 w221 for around 30k, it came with buttons and upholstery "custom designed" by them
Lucky me I didn't spend half that.
🤯
Laughs in monochrome LCD
get a tiny car
But I have people to lug around
same
Although my tires were like 50% more expensive than those on my parents car, which is bigger

fit 5 people in a mazda 2 just fine
my ford has like 14 inch rims
16"
My daily has cheaper tyres than the family car, one of the reasons why I’m not looking forward to my next daily probably having 19” rims
I think I paid €310 for a full set including installation?
Step 1: order tires online
Step 2: get them installed at your local garage for €15/tire
Step 3: profit
Laughs in €750 a set installed
well
My local garage overcharges the hell out of me
I've bought rims for another 35 euros and another 35 euros for installation
Also those tires are just expensive AF probably
My garage isn't trustworthy anymore
Euro resale lol
Michelin supersports 😳
Nvm pilot sports now
Super sports are crap
So many people in my country buy nice euros then put shitty Chinese ditch sliders once the tyres are gone
Yup
Why wouldn’t you get the PS4S
These were my first sets since forever
And I always swapped to it
But my porsche got super sports
My country is very humid and hot
Probably not for anything else
€2500 for a set of tyres for the family car ha
Around 738 lb feet stock, I got a custom manifold and swapped all intakes
Might as well just sell it before they’re used up
That’s what I did with the last one
No one buys these
The marker in here is more akin to
Off road tires and the such, and everyone's balling on supercars, I'm just different, I like me a sedan
I'm chilling rn
I'm so lost here
I'll show you my brakes now when i head out
brake rotors that arent crusty are nice
cheap ones on my car made of the finest rustolium
Even good ones will start to surface rust as the material wears away
get some which are painted where the pad doesent contact atleast for a nicer look
Most are powder coated along the edges
Getting tires replaced in zhe Corsa
But I have never seen rotors where the hub is painted
