not even a daewoo matiz is that slow
fuck i want a daewoo matiz
would be such a good paddock car
Its a holden with a daewoo engine
Apparently with a meh start I even reached 60km/h in 7s (looked up an acceleration video I made once)
they made a ute out of one
Mates AU does 0 - 100km in second gear
laughs in golf gti
Same as zhe Corsa
Not surprising for a similar type car/power/...
> VAG
the manual ones have stupid long gearing
Those are mean little engines

They like to pop and crackle
Me over here with my Mazda BT-50
0 - 100 you bet đ
in nz it seems all the subie yobbos move to mk5 gtis
2nd gear tops out at 50mph in my car
Same
weed whacker status
Short gearing = necessary to keep it moving
Zach, my diesel actually takes off faster than my mates au
Diesel torque for the win
because its a ute
i wish my first gear went further and understand why it doesent heh
His is a ute
au ute
Yikes it's 3 AM
weirdchamp
Cya
sweet dreams about a pacifica hellcat with crossclimate plus tyres
wait a super cab
wtf
both the v6 and v8 drove like absolute rubbish
yike
i love how useless they are
they shouldve mass produced the monaro vf
Yeah
the coupe 60 probably the best looking holden ever
All the old holdens
concept only :(
no thanks
there was no money in it
Mhm
look at how abysmal ss sales were in the states
Yeah
holden just deserved a better death
GM didn't exactly market the SS.
Colorado Sports Cat
lmaoooo
idk whats worse
the sports cat or walkinshaw having to use the torque of the amarok instead of the power
w580 amarok yeah bet
Lmao
w190 doesnt quite roll off the tongue
just get a ranger lol
Shitty EGR coolers failing and destroying your engine
Mates got a ranger
Good shit
D-max is just a 2021 BT-50
200hp 400nm
yep
Yeah thats a lot more than my gen
Shitbox?
I wouldnt take it 4x4
fuck driving one without a warranty
^^^
yep for 80% of what most people do
aftermarket support isnt as big as the other utes tho
ive heard the opposite
But the co-vid tax on them is stupid
i heard aftermarket support for the patrol isnt nearly as good as the lc200
amaroks look so good
Looks like a future trophy truck
Rumors are the next Amarok will be based on a Ford platform.
Oh boy
its been confirmed monte.
I love the 5000 - 7000 pound trophy trucks
#Amarok#VW#VWAmarok#Jump#Diesel#Truck#Sand#OffRoad#KingShocks#LongTravel#EvoCorse#BFGoodRich#Rally
that looks fun
thing is that a ranger raptor can do what that amarok did stock
Raptor is a truck stock tho
Just by looks and what not
Amarok is like a work / luxury
similar price tho
Yeah
Yup
lol i once saw one with pilot sport 4s
What you think about the v8 in the 79 series
they good
Those are fucking mean with 3 inch exhausts
so expensive those
no wonder people get patrols
Filmed with GoPro Hero 3+ Black & External Microphone.
Car: 1998 Nissan Patrol, 2.8L Turbo Diesel. 3" Straight through exhaust with no mufflers.
Only mods are; 3" Exhaust, Boost T (16psi), Butterfly removal, EGR block
Lmao
Manta Torqit Pacemaker PPD Xforce Rhino Varex Y62 Patrol Armada Infiniti QX Exhaust
TD42
the y62s are what 20k cheaper than the lc200
yeah lol the ti-l is 30k+ more than an lc200 sahara
Yup
less*
the ground clearance is essentially the same as a lc200 with a 2" lift anyway
plus its nice not having to bother with dpf and egr
Thats a pog
My car doesnât like the Tennessee snow and decided to get itself stuck
Parked my car went to get out and it slid sideways
its telling you to do skids
same happened to us in a parking lot, started sliding very close to the car next to us
they plowed the entrance but none of the parking spaces or exit
so do donuts in the parking lot like a normal person
or, use winter tires for winter so you get traction
you can't expect low profile tires to perform in snow
Winter tires can have a lower profile than summer tires
snow tyres would rot before we even put 5% of wear on them
oh but hurr durr all seasons bad
Yes
I had the dumb dumb idea of swapping me rear wheels with the front ones
whats dumb about it, thats a good way to balance tyre wear
unless your fronts were completely bald ofc đ
my rear tyres are all season
so?
and I've noticed my lugnuts are rusting really badly
I need to find normal bolt nuts then
n make sure u are using copper grease on the threads
huh?
u always put copper grease inside the lugnuts and on the threads
ok well im giving u advice to make it easier if u need to do it again
I'm just curious how much traction have those all season ones compared to my winter tyres
in which conditions? winter tyres will always provide more traction in sub 0/icey/snow conditions
especially under braking
yea well winter tyres wont completely stop a lack of traction in snow
yep
I just use summer tyres year round lmao
I hardly drive my car in winter because of the salt, and if I am, then its just ezed dorifto time
Until your front wheels go dorifto
Isn't that power sliding?
Donuts are really just free snow removal
The all-seasons I run on my van are severe snow rated and do excellently in the snow and ice.
that doesn't look that bad of damage but I don't really know how hard did it hit
its probably repairable but it doesent have an agreed value on the insurance
so he could get royally fecked
my moms toyota was super badly damaged
the hood bent and lamps fell off
and the crashbar was gone
but the police said
fuck it you can drive home
meanwhile the mercedes had go to a mechanic on a towtruck
someone i knows car
still sad to see a classic ruined by some careless driver not even slowing down slightly for the junction
exactly
their fiesta is easily replaced
but this classic
is a piece of history
it can't be brought back as easily as a fiesta
my dream rn is to get a shelby cobra, but with how much the original mints are, i'd rather get a replica at this point
Give it 40 years and the fiesta will also be rare
what about focus
Same
They are still common AF
Give it time
Rip the mini's headlight
DRL lights are stupid
People often drive with DRL lights on in the dark and most people donât know if that DRL lights are on there is no back light on.
DRL's aren't stupid, the people who don't use them as intended are
That's why a lot of new cars have auto headlights
Ah yes, so people drive around with no lights when it's foggy
my focus has auto lights
turn ignition on
and lights are on no matter what
I mean if you turn on the engine
My parents car had auto lights, but they never used that feature lol, the always toggled between on/off themselves
Their current car doesn't have it but I didn't care to look for one which did as they didn't use it
In the winter I have the lights in the "on" position 24/7
Engine on -> lights on, engine off -> lights off
I need headlights on here 24/7
and DRL are stupid because people don't know how to use them
and I don't see a point of getting them installed on my car
DRLs themselves aren't stupid, the intention is great. The drivers are stupid tho
Look cool
maybe in modern cars
I have a modern car
I have modernish car
there are possibly headlights for my car that have DRL
but I don't want to be bothered forgetting turning them on and switching to headlights when I need them
because I'll forget and cause danger
It's pretty obvious at night
I still see people driving on DRL during night
They're idiots
idk why
I've moved from Greater poland to kujawsko-pomorskie
and I see a lot of people driving on DRL during night
At work...
this region feels poor compared when I lived in PoznaĹ
I have once been in Poland. In 2018 between Swinousjie and Szczecin.
I often travel between the Netherlands and Sweden
the famous ĹwinoujĹcie
Normally over Denmark (Great Belt fixed link and Ăresund bridge) but I wanted to take a other way back then
my drl's and headlights share a bulb on the dash
too expensive to have a second bulb :^)
I drive everywhere in poland
not that i cant tell the difference
it was hell to drive from to KrakĂłw
I drove 13 hours with short breaks
had to pickup my mom from there
I find that ford makes uncomfortable seats
but it feels like heven compared the the aftermarket seats the Mercedes van had
SwinemĂźnde in German
im comfortable in most seats but i weigh about 2 kilograms
barely 5 foot 7
I'm like 1.93 meters
crikey
im friends with someone thats a giant aswell who also drives a mazda 2
funny seeing him getting out of it
I'm just unnaturally wide
2 Kg? That is 2 cartons of milk
minor exaggeration
got another friend who is short but has giant feet
couldnt wear shoes in his little peugoet 206 else hed hit all the pedals
im 19 and people guess my age as 13 :^ |
looks epic
I can't fit in opel corsa C
count yourself lucky i guess
renault clio 1 2 and 3 are way too small for me
why?
people do all kinds of tasteful modifications to corsa c's here
it was stock
barely see a stock one left now
our 2002 civic is a rarity now despite our neglect
âTalk about how 4 bangers suckâ this is so âhello fellow kids whatâs popping in the niz nat newsâ
Iâm gonna run twin turbos on my car so I can blow it up
I could eat the engine
my plastic side skirts are hiding the pinch welds for the most part but where theres holes for the jack its bad
No need the TT will start to kill the engine itself as soon as oil runs through them
my driveways not very safe for working on cars so i dont get much time under them
lets see
i go under with a spare tyre next to me incase it slides
You have a driveway?
a very steep one yes
I have this thing called a patch of grass
probably be safer
i measured my garage and if i manage to get it 100% cleared out it would only fit a 4.4m long car at maximum
How to not get your car stolen in the US: ||G||||e||||t|| ||a|| ||m||||a||||n||||u||||a||||l||.
garage used to be longer but part of it was stolen for the kitchen
this was just 1 giant hole
underside looks better than mazda
and I've just realised how little crash structure my car has between rear bumper and the LPG tank
if you look at the crash tests of my car the spare tyre is part of the structure heh
A really funny video about cars with DAF VarioMatic transmission in the late 70's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7ipFApsFec
Jaren 80, met commentaar van AndrĂŠ van Duin. Circuit Zandvoort.
thatd be great for single track roads with no passing places until you overcorrect heh
wait
can actually as toyota hybrid go as fast in reverse as forwards?
or it is limited
probably limited on anything modern that has the possibility of doing it fast
The DAF with VarioMatic? Yes. For a couple of years (When it was in production) they held comptitions for that đ
Jaren 80, met commentaar van AndrĂŠ van Duin. Circuit Zandvoort.
They should bring races like that back
Too bad it'll never happen with modern health and safety regulations
Lol I didn't scroll up far enough

It was held in Valkenswaard (by Eindhoven) then

Would play the multiplayer mod

thats quick af
looks like a very warm winter over there
Southern hemisphere == summer now
Oh God
It's - 5°c outside and it's raining
I've encountered ice on the parking lot and even boring like on the clutch my car couldn't stop
It's a VW: don't

Is this Passat or golf?
Golf R wagon
@stoic ledge eat my ass
We also donât have opels here not like Iâd ever consider one
My humble ride
oh look i found its twin
skodas are great. got a kodiaq rs for family duties
tdi or tsi?
it seems everyone is buying skodas now instead of VW here
what country
poland
oh interesting
it's basically VW but cheaper
and usually better lol
yep
then they basically said skoda needs to be shit again
so probably wont be getting another skoda. two in two years is enough
My ride
Mondeo?
bruh lol
fOcus
So funny I forgot to laugh
yeah i wasnt saying lol to the focus joke
the focus st is great but fuck me the interior looks absolute trash
you haven't seen true trash interior
i probably have but ok
better than the focus interior
its fine
nice
It may be 20 years old and not that powerful but I like my vrs
theyre good cars
I like my focus
but
multi link suspention
every mechanics tells me that my rear suspension needs to be rebuild
just because bushings went bad
or are on it's way
Did you 3d model that?

Multiple reasons, as they are:
- heavily overpriced
- don't really drive that well
- quite onreliable
And more to đłđą : - Shitty importer which is corrupt AF
Also, imagine comparing a small hatchback to a Golf costing 4x as much
Polo then
My sister in law has one, basically same year as mine
Tbh mine is more engaging to drive. Also narrower inside and overall less spacious, even while I have a 3 doors and she has a 5-doors
- heavily overpriced is really a local issue
- donât really drive that well, ??? depends on the car.
- unreliable, no issues with the three in the garage but mine are newer.
looks at all the 1.4TSI/1.8TSI problems/DSG DQ200/1.6 TDI problems đ
Not saying that
Opel also had there issues, look at the M32 gearbox and Piston failure 4 of the 1.6 Turbo
Thatâs you
You literally said âitâs a vw: noâ
You didnât go into any specifics as to why not to get a Mk7.5 R
Itâs not exactly a 1.0 TSI with the DQ200 is it
Very true but it's still an overpriced POS
Well idk wtf it costs there but it costs the same as a 335i or something here
Which is better in every single way
âŹ39k
How old
That's way too much imho but sure if it makes you happy then buy it
C43 facelift was on the list but not many good ones on the market at the moment
Oh itâs stupid I bought my 2015 Mk7 R for âŹ31k 3 years ago but used market is fucked cause COVID
Thereâs literally cars similar to mine selling for similar prices rn
And the 2017 car I sold in 2019, right now theyâre selling at the same price for a higher km low spec car
I know, that's the same here
My brother had an E91, got stolen, got the purchase price back, but couldn't buy the same car back as they were 25% more expensive now
âŹ43k but shit spec
Who buys silver and doesnât get black optics
And those wheels are ugly as fuck
Ok lemme check
That car has everything but sport diff
At this point might as well just lease a new car
âŹ1k a month for a C43 estate specced how I want
M340i was on the cards but the new 2021 ones donât have any fun noises so no thanks
S4 too slow, would get a used then tune
Ok so the cheapest 2017 S4 is âŹ55k, that's not that bad
RS4 came standard with DRC, too hard for new zealand roads
How many km on that 55k s4
84k
43k and has 18k km
The lowest mileage S4 for sale has 53k km on it
Glad Iâm not in the Netherlands

I like being this distance away from you :)
Part of me was thinking of financing a GLC63 as a fuck it final hoorah before electric
Top selling car in NZ is the Ford ranger
I see XC40's everywhere
Nice town cars but I just find these small SUVs pointless
I guess people like them here because they're good during winter
Having extra ground clearance doesn't hurt
Just rather an A3 quattro
Interior not as lush as the XC40 tho
The A3 40 quattro s line spec is so bad in nz
âŹ42k and you donât even get heated seats
Gotta buy a âŹ2k package for the privilege
In nz we generally donât bother with shit engines for premium brands
Base engine is the 35 lol

Very likely
The fact that illuminated makeup mirrors is an option in Europe
I take that as an insult
Oh lol yeah our spec is better
Park assist, adaptive cruise and blind spot detection standard
Itâs also -dignity if you actually use park assist
Yet Iâd still pay for it if thereâs a button for it
Base trim is advanced trim in nz
Base trim here is some Business trim
As these cars are only bought as company cars tbh
Yeah no wonder nobody buys new in Europe
Everyone leases cause the rates are cheap and the retail price is high
Well it's especially đłđą which is bad, Portugal and I think Norway
Those countries all have an added tax
Yep
You want a V8 Mustang? Sure that'll be âŹ110k for a base model

Just buy a focus st
Starts from a mere âŹ53330
(Focus ST that is)
Auto +âŹ3300 (so we shall stick with a manual)
Wagon +âŹ1250
âŹ36k lol
For an auto
Focus ST Wagon Auto âŹ59255
Auto only here which is disappointing but then again the only people buying them here are 40yo women
And no wagon
You think I donât know
No but I like to keep mentioning that đ

For âŹ58k I can get a Volvo V60 T8 PHEV (400hp combined) R-Design
So a Focus ST Wagon or a Volvo V60 T8
Looked at a V60
I know what my choice would be
Too old man for me
You need to get it like this

Honestly itâs just too boring
The ideal car is honestly a C43 chassis and steering, AMG 53 mild hybrid drivetrain, and M340i looks
Canât believe Mercedes is making a better inline 6 (disregarding tuning potential) than BMW
Yes
Had a guy try drag me at the lights the other day in an evo x
Dunno why he even bothered trying

I guess thatâs the good thing about having a Golf R wagon
Sleeper af
Probably thought it was a 1.4 tsi
Itâs hard to tell
Thanks to Volkswagen being cheap pricks the mk7.5 r line has essentially the same front bumper as the r
Unlike the mk7
This is a 1.0 TSI 85hp for sale here
Mk6 1.2TSI
Ffs
Watch that itâs funny
Itâs not that bad here
But people will make their Mk6 GTI look like an R
Lol nice
Well it's not like everybody does that here
Most are specced as an R-Line/AMG-Line/M-Sport/S-Line/R-Design here nowadays tho
Yep
My brothers Volvo is a 2.0 diesel, but it has an R-Design package with twin exhaust
318i lol
Wonder how much slower it is than the 320i
Same engine just a lower tune
The e90 320i is the slowest modern BMW Iâve ever been in
Meh
For its time good chassis
Better steering than the g20 lol
The g20âs steering is very vague around centre
The C43 actually had the best steering out of the 3 in my experience
Problem with the C43 is that the twin turbo V6 is super inefficient and the RHD conversion Mercedes did is terrible
The foot rest is like 1.5â wide
And the pedals are too offset to the right so left foot braking is bad
Well left foot braking is bad
How
Didnât know a C43 was manual
That's why you shouldn't drive a C43
Left foot braking gives you a very jerky ride tho
How
Because you often still have some gas + braking at the same time
Nope
Didnât know you live in the footwell of my car
My foot is never resting on the brake
Also with my left foot I can't really dose the brakes as well as with my right foot
Thatâs a you problem
You implied it
No
Well thatâs the point in saying that
What I meant was when you apply brake to slow down, you might still have some gas applied
That's what I meant
Well when you take it of the gas pedal, just move it to the brake pedal
I've never seen anybody use his left foot to brake
Congrats
Thanks
Very few of my mates do either
Iâm ambidextrous when it comes to brakes
If thereâs little traffic or on the highway Iâll use one foot
one foot only unless you have a manual
Disagree
you will cause a crash eventually if you continue to drive recklessly
Woah, didnât know that braking for a corner using my left foot will cause a crash
that's why they have driving classes to teach you how to drive
please take drivng classes
Lol look at you
this is a serious issue
Lmao
if a cop were to find you doing that you would get a hefty fine
Wow really
yes
well don't bring that shit out of NZ then
Explain how itâs a danger
your brain will get confused while driving. especially in stop and go traffic or if someone pulls in front of you quickly
How?
you think you can do it but there is no such thing as multi tasking in a vehicle
Mine doesnât
your car is not a go kart
Itâs pretty easy. I use my right foot to brake if my left foot is on the foot rest, otherwise itâs the left foot that brakes without any confusion
go karts are designed to use two feet. cars are not
Perhaps I have more mental capacity than you
with exception of manual
Whatâs the difference between hovering your foot over a clutch than a brake pedal?
I definitely am not
Iâve never had any issues using my left foot braking technique in my years driving
I have the same dexterity braking in my left foot as my right
No point linking the informative team OâNeil video of left foot braking on the street, youâre far too self righteous for that
Hmm, no replies. Must be trying to dox me for whatever reason, very mature
The only time I left foot brake is when I'm drifting
Theres zero point to left foot braking driving in traffic though
Your engine doesnt like being under braking and power at the same time
Iâm not braking while on the gas pedal.
Of course, Iâm talking about driving an auto though.
I prefer to move my two feet in one axis if that makes sense
I get what you mean, but it doesnt make much sense to do it
Iâve driven like that long enough that itâs just muscle memory
Until its not and you slam on your brakes and accelerator at the same time and fuck your engine
Never done that, plus most modern cars cut power when you brake and apply gas at the same time
Mine definitely do, Iâve tried it just to see if thatâs true and it is lol
Just because you haven't done it yet, doesnt mean you wont do it
Its just better to /not/ have a bad habit of it
For if you drive different cars
I donât. All my cars are VW group cars that behave the same.
Theyâre all dual clutch, so I definitely make sure not to fuck around with the pedals
You don't /currently/
But you aren't keeping yourself open to what might happen
Unless you've got a crystal ball, which would be sick
In a car Iâm not used to Iâll obviously adapt how I drive
Get me next weeks lottery numbers

Oh so because I left foot brake sometimes that means if I get into a different car Iâm not used to and use my right foot Iâll cause a 10 car accident
logic
How do you know it won't happen, though?
Because thatâs how I actually learned to drive
Two pedals two feet
Yes, I learned to drive in an auto
It's weird they teach it like that
If my left foot isnât hovering on the brake pedal, itâs on the foot rest and Iâll use my right foot. And in an auto, the brake pedal is generally raised as well
Iâm not going to kick my left foot with my right foot then brake haha
But whatever, agree to disagree. Situational awareness is more important anyways
If I remember correctly, I was told not to by the instructor when getting lessons (manual car though). But for my full licence test, I forgot that I wasnât supposed to and with an auto I did left foot braking and the tester was surprised
Thats cool, I'm a combat driver and I've got a laundry list of driving qualifications and experience, and Id still not recommend a habit of left foot braking

I'm quite sure the fail you if you do that here
Although it's hard to do in a manual car
Definitely, its a preventable safety
Take your test in an auto, and your license is only valid for an auto
Thatâs how it for your ârestrictedâ licence
Ive had my manual license for 7 years
left foot braking like Colin McRae
Ha yeah, people say stuff like that and then thereâs me left foot braking to a traffic light in an automatic Golf
Perhaps doing LFB a bit of a disservice
Drifting an AWD is hard
Coming globally to Netflix on March 19...
In a year like no other, F1 witness a unique, unforgettable season - and Netflix were there to capture every raw moment of triumph and heartbreak, every dramatic twist and turn.
Go inside the fastest sport in the world like never before. From the producers of Senna, Amy and Diego Maradona, Drive to Su...
Agree to disagree
I driften a friggin 4x4 sisu sk 181
I just googled what that is and Iâm impressed
Lol my dad did a doughnut in the intersection of a street in a 1966 corvette.
Wasnt exactly fast but I did drift it in a parking lot
Lol.
Drifting in the mud near a tree is no fun.
Especially when youâre in the side the tree almost hit...
I've driven this thing in mud that was deep enough to submerge the whole tire
Lmao.
Slow speed and locks does wonders
But if I were to get stuck getting out would be impossible
Literally threw everything in the sled and my brother had to hang on for dear life lol.
And? You wont fall into the ice if you ceep the momentum
Mhm.
You can drive it on only water if you really wanted
Lol its like the one time I was skiing and it was like 60 degrees outside and I went over the water.
I wish I had a video of that.
Correct momentum, yes. But you canât gain anymore momentum on the water with a snowmobile.
Unless...
Well no.
I mean you can if its powerful enough
Not easy on an 09 charger AWD even though they can slide very easily they grip like hell with AWD
Traction control off and snow = fun times
I drift my A6 quattro all the time in the snow
Nice.
Slush snow no fun.
Too much drift and lock up.
Unpredictable.
But powder snow fun.
Much more sliding.
I like Black ice drifting LOL
When you hit the tree itâs the best.
And then you go into a never ending sleep.
Lidl
oh yeah
my 2nd favorite place to drift
right after tesco
always covered in ice
Iâm honestly obsessed with the fact that Toyota decided to ship an economy car with butterfly doors
Actually I was at a motonet behind a lidl
Did you attempt to murder an F1 driver while you were there?
Huh?
Context- Fernando Alonso (2x world champ) got wiped out on a bicycle when someone turning into a Lidl didnât see him coming the opposite way
ohh
i took this in forza
could you please turn the stereo to funky mode?
no
i dont have a car irl
do you have a hotwheels car?
Mine got totalled
I drive a totalled car
iRacing supremacy gang
nah my laptop cant run beam ng
how?
im too broke
Assetto Corsa Competizione is on geforce now
hmmm
my ford isn't worth fixing if just fixing the suspension costs as much as the car is worth
lol
and oil leaks
it's pretty much all fixed up
only fixing major ones
Looks sick ngl
we just need to do the bodywork and repaint it
Add RGB
looks like something I would crash
lol
Strong 70s detective show vibes
I don't dare to drive old muscle/pony cars
burnside special vibes
my car is basically just the american devil z
oh god
the discord quality
ok better picture
So car go vroom
I feel like it's pretty easy to grasp the concept that you are doing the generally recognized unsafe thing. Whether you're good at it or not doesn't change that it's not something to promote. I can drive with my knees because my dad always did it and it's normal for me to do unless I'm going at a hard turn, doesn't mean I'm gonna get all antsy or be surprised when someone says "you really shouldn't make a habit of driving with your knees it's not safe" đ
Come on man why you gotta bring up the one at the bottom of the lake. It was one time
i just gotta
TIL when Ferrari claims a car is a limited run, theyâre actually lying lmao
Like they claimed they made 399+1 Enzo and all Enzo cars come with â1 of 399â on them but over 490 unique Enzo cars have been found in the wild
Yeah but do they all of # of 399 on em???
Nah each one has a plaque with â1 of 399â. Iâm sure Ferrari knows the numbers but they would rather not publicly admit
And customers wouldnât dare sue, lest they lose an allocation on a future special car. Ferrari gets real pissy when you call them out
Damn ferrari playing mind games for real
Not only do you have to buy all their cars, you also have to spec it with ludicrous options, take it to their overpriced events and never say a bad word and maybe if youâre lucky, youâll be invited to drop a million dollars on a car. Stockholm syndrome for real (and probably how Nvidia shouldâve handled the 3090 release lmao)
Great business model đ
Ferrari is the strongest brand in the world. Regardless of whoever you compare them to.
Yeah, only Lamborghini can match them in terms of loyalty
Ferrari is a stong car brand, but for me at least it feels like they've not been as strong marketing wise thanks to a lack of f1 championships
not like thats gonna improve too soon either đŹ
Their brand image isn't based on F1 anymore.
It's the rich toy image that sells em these days.

And a theme park in Saudi Arabia... or was it Dubai?
Plus, during Ferrari's F1 championships, their road cars weren't really that good compared to the other years
Either you put money into racing or road cars.
sure they had a few, but in general they weren't that good
now it's going to be more into their road cars, assuming Ferrari's budget for road cars is affected big by their F1 budget
now they'll have a budget cap so
Everyone whining that a budget cap will ruin F1...
it'll only make teams closer
As if F1 is any good under current rules in which "those who spend most win."
not necessarily, Ferrari is the 2nd biggest spender and yet look at their 2020 season
and iirc in 2017-18 they spent more than mercedes and lost as well
Having more money doesn't imply you'll win
its hoped the new regs in 2022 combined with the cost cap will level the playing field enough that teams will be able to equalise in performance reasonably soon
orr mercedes will manage to have the best car for the next 6 seasons in a row...
being realistic we'll never see F1 with the teams being reasonably equal in performance, there'll always be a clear best car, but we can hope to see a top 3 title fight again
yeah thats what i expect from the regs
new engines in 2025, so there's a chance we won't, however Mercedes prepared for the 2014 spec engine in 2008 so...
the main issue with F1 rn aside from merc winning every championship pretty easy is the lack of close racing, which 2022 aims to solve and i really hope it does
historically there's always been a best car, Fangio jumped teams to get the best car, in the 60s there was Lotus having the best car for some seasons, then still Lotus for some years in the 70s, in some years Ferrari, some McLaren, then the 80s the dominant mclarens and williams, 90s the benetton and williams followed by mclaren in the very start and very end, then the clearly superior Ferrari from 2000-2004, 2005-6 the Renault was a clear winner, then until 2010 yeah there wasn't a clear best car, and imo that was a great couple of years for F1
long text my bad
inb4 the 2025 engines are a whole new kind of engine that Mercedes has been working on since the early 90s...
knowing mercedes, they'll likely have already started working on them, while other teams haven't given it much focus yet, which is why Mercedes was a whole new level of good in 2014, they simply prepared a lot more than everyone else
Didn't they also know some stuff about the regs before they were announced?
if im not mistaken, Renault were the ones to push for the v6s
no idea about that
Unlike driving with your knees you can maintain full control and precision of the brake pedal with your left foot if youâve driven like that your entire life. Canât exactly make a lock to lock turn with your knees can you.
NHTSA did a study a while back on pedal application errors which included using both feet:
"DRSs commented that clients who began driving with both feet late in their driving careers have been more likely to make pedal application errors; both-footed driving does not seem to be a problem for those who have driven with both feet all their lives.â
Lmao one of my mates and his flatmates broke down cause one of the flatmates didnât torque his oil filter right and it fell out on the motorway
ouch
Getting a whole race karting package with two karts be and my brother are splitting the cost 50/50
that's dope, i hope you enjoy it :)
ah, ouch
I've been hybrid knee hand driving my whole licensed life, I obviously switch depending on the situation and wouldn't attempt a lock to lock turn with my knees (what an absolutely brain dead question I might add) which is my point, it's just kinda shilly to blame others for advising against a recognized unsafe practice as opposed to presenting non anecdotal references to why its okay or aknowledging the issues with it. I can tell you in my car in my hands my knees will never present an issue. But I'd never tell anyone else that makes it okay even if it's something so natural for me because for them it probably wouldn't be
yeah i wouldnt go in anyones car who uses their knees at any point
not sure what crazy seat position your in to make that possible anyway
And I fully respect that, only person who gets to see me drive like that is my girlfriend
A lot of cars had a fairly low seating position.
I balance my hand on my knee on longer trips.
id have to physically lift my leg up to steer with it
I just move my foot closer to the seat.
Ah I'm a bit tall and typically my seats end up adjusted so that it just works out. I've been in cars where it doesn't and in those circumstances I don't go out of my way to make it possible
im barely 5 foot 7 and my seat is nearly fully back
I just curse the car for making me work different
i have it set so i can lock my knee in place on the clutch
i couldnt think of a opportunity id have to steer with my knee outside of doing 5mph on the motorway
Only for long stretches of interstate.
Can't do the knee balance trick when shifting.
ours are still reasonably bendy and filled with potholes
and most of the time im getting blown about when i pass a truck
Yeah. I keep a hand on the wheel at all times.
