so i bought a car
Honda
i sure do hope you're parking in that parking spot
its parking only!
I park my car on the middle of the road
we were still at the dealer when i took that picture
also wtf else do you do in a parking spot except parking
dont really get why you have to clarify its for parking only lol
Well it only takes one... ๐
Looks like a road I used to drive a lot near Exeter
shopping for a car this would be easier if I could settle on a brand or at least a body style
Dont worry i have a very quick and easy solution to your problem
Buy a Renault Twizy
I would genuinely buy a Twizy if they sold them here, no hesitation
me thinking about buying more minivans
Need something large enough to move a dog to the vet
If it wasn't for that, it's an interesting car
Looking at upgrading a car screen with one of these it is a 2019 440 I is there any drawbacks
Because I want Android Auto wireless
My VW Golf 6 1.4

:^|
Any recommendations for a cheap starter car?
Something that'll do 0-60 in less than 5 secs
And isn't a gas guzzler
a cheap starter car?
you'll definitely have to look in the used market for something that good and that cheap
Eh used is fine
any companies in mind?
Anything that won't break down after a month
you'll have to look at old chevys
Hmm preferably something not american
something that can go 0-60 in under 5s, all while being less than 10k, cheap to maintain
I was thinking a modded e36
bmw's with oem parts aren't cheap to maintain if i'll be honest, BUT THEY'RE A HELL OF A RIDE
let me be honest, getting modded cars is like getting another man's love and joy, does it really bond the same way with you as it did with him? you'll have to kinda redo everything he's done to it, or just carry on with his set of mods
No, modded as in I mod it myself
and maintaining a modded car is very fun if you have the means to it
ohh
buying it bone stock isn't cheap either
hmm
finding it mint is the problem
Oh no that's easy
but if you search hard enough, and are dedicated, trust me it'll be a hell of a ride
i meant this
a set of fine group of germans would tell you that they last forever
But 200k ones are easy to find here, its like $7k or so for a "nice" one
200k kms that's around 10 years of daily driving bro
Eh, as long as it runs and doesn't break down all the time its fine
Its only a starter for like 4 years lol
I love people who sell toyotas with 450k+km on the dash and sell it for 40 - 50k lol
just make sure you don't buy a reall torn down one bro
toyotas are the epitome of reliability but i feel ya, they depreciate so easily here though
a 2008 yaris with 150k kms is sold for 500 bucks here, on god.
i mean its only $500
150k is a lot
honestly
but they still run
Same with nissian patrols
and that amazes me
Even tho I want one
Oh wait sorry $20k but regardless
i have a 2009 armada, 170k kms on the dial, ill never replace it
theres tonnes of 321k km yaris' going around here
The only cars I've ever had were a 2012 Sonata, and a 2019 Baleno (newest one)
i've had three german cars break down on me on several occasions, but this beast won't go down
Sonata was nice and all until the alternator went kaput multiple times
30 year old toyotas be like
german cars are built for performance and luxury, but clearly not reliability
I know someone who has a 30 year toyota, still runs great
Heck not even toyota
Daihatsu
Their "cheap" brand
my uncle's toyota xe is literally the backbone of our family
lol
it's the one car out of all that will never back down in it's service
My uncle has a little Daihatsu Ayla from 2015 that still works great
daihatsu is made for small japanese roads so they ought to cater to it
That + low income countries
i.e. indonesia
yupp
once i become a doctor, i wish to sponsor many people
money is a gift that's meant to be shared
Strapped to the roof obviously
HAHA
bruh V12?
Why not
a mercedes w270 motor LOL
It will fit on the roof
lol
idk there's probably someone on the internet who has done something similar
Try finding a p50 first
a peel p50 with a 600cc yamaha r6 motor paired to a 6 speed transmission
but man lately
i've been looking into getting into motorcycle riding, it's honestly liberating, but i see the dangers, and i don't fear them
but until this darn pandemic's over, i ain't leaving a dollar for such liberty
pocket rockets haha
Heck just for cruising here and there a mint Honda Prima will do a nice job
I want one of those mainly for photography and all
bicycle yes, but in the USA not where i am rn
a motorbike :0
aww
nah, ain't allowed to for safety reasons
Tbh its nice
But I have friends who can drive me around w/ their Varios so its fine
And besides, covid means online school
so not much to do out there
and there are places only bikes could trek
i have $1500 in tests to take in april/may/june
so i can't exactly rlly go out to do much
It is what it is
tests?
IGCSEs
๐
taking 8 of them
goddamn bro goodluck
gotta get top ranks, so i gotta study
i have a younger friend who has to take those as well
goodluck man, with good preparation, you'll definitely make it
I was like "uh oh" when I saw my school's post about that 7A* kid lol
thx
Most of the stuff is easy, I'm just worried about math, additional math, physics, and maybe spanish
i dont know you personally so im not sure if you do this or not, but sleeping well is a really huge factor in your performance, please take sleep to consideration
I sleep from 10-12 until 7-9 in the morning
Depends on whether my first class is something I need
oh
i sleep from 12-7, i'd sleep sooner but im busy, and life's worth living so i tend to forget to sleep haha
i regret that though.
for the hours i am awake, it's a living nightmare
Yeah, 12-7 is too tiring for me
I need 9-10 hours of sleep to function efficiently
Dunno how people deal with 6
they clearly have nothing physical to work with
likely
as a musician and future surgeon, being sleep deprived ruins my entire form
and mental stress on top of depression
idk why
but i feel like my life is becoming more and more meaningless as i sleep less and less
i've had hobbies before
and now im beginning to lose them
due to not being able to do them at all
studying is stressful
but not being able to enjoy life is even worse
i mean that's how it works, less energy = less motivation
If you're too tired you won't wnna do much
I don't wanna do physics questions at 8am
Too tired for that
let me tell you the truth
i always try to sleep at 10, but i overthink so much
and i've never napped in i think 11 years now.
I nap only when my body is so tired that computer screens don't help
been sleep deprived for several months now, ever since my second semester started
ouch
studying is the root of my issue, there is no flexibility at all
i meana, studying is something personal
like
you can study to reach top marks but at what cost
i study to both understand/get top marks
no use in being a nerd who knows nothing
That's not selfish, rather an issue with your dad I'd say
yeah
What are you trying to prove?
This is a car channel
me and him have no bond, he never personally sits down and talk, nor do anything, being around him is awkward, so i'd like to prove that i'm able to live on my own one day
idk man convo goes brrrrrr sometimes
we were talking about cars then deviated lol
well, as a person you don't have to prove anything
live your own life
to the best of your ability
that's all
k i gotta get off pretty soon, gn y'all
thx
Driving gloves... in a BMW..... Where have i seen this before?
yikees
oof
if you open 1 door its a lot easier to go to each door and open it from the inside
mapp gas
I've tried crow bar
It worked on rear hatch
But still can't open from inside
Feels like I'm going to snap door handle
Ah yes, the Tesla solution. Heat car for 30 minutes, then you can enter it
just take off the doors completely while they are unfrozen and they wont get frozen shut next time
tesla is just useless to me
no way to charge it
is super expensive
and charging stations are more expensive than gas
if I had any near me
EVs definitely aren't for everyone yet, hopefully they're getting there
hybrid is the best compromise
Depends, all the maintenance of both types of systems which is a bit annoying.
just living in a city and having pure EV is just a pain
That's actually the ideal case for an EV, as long as you have charging at home or work.
I just love that govrment is forcink people to switch to EVs
while we don't even have infrastructure
That's partly to force the development of said infrastructure. It's working well where I live (BC, Canada). Very rural, but becoming very possible to travel anywhere with an EV.
and like 98% of people don't even have a way to charge them at home here
but still
people here drive like 1000-2000 euro cars
98%? That seems a bit high to be true
when most of the city is just buildings like this
the problem is that there are no garages
That would make some sense then (98% still seems high). Without a powered parking spot, things are rough for sure.
I don't know ho much
bot for sure 90%
or more
If I could get a motorcycle license
You don't need a garage per se, it's just the most common easy way to have power nearby.
Like a hotel I was at didn't have "charging" available, nor underground parking or anything like that, but they had outlets for block heaters. Usable for charging.
would buy an EV bike
we sadly don't have that
The infra will have to come eventually then. We're not sure how it'll happen, but it's not like gas stations popped up everywhere immediately either. At least the electricity is typically somewhat nearby, it's a matter of running access to it.
the issue is that I can't run extension cord over the street because that vilates the code
Yeah no it won't be by extension cords :p
and also I live on private property
and gating an outlet installed would be so much cost
and the fact that I'm still too poor to even own a 1000 euro car
That's why the changes come from the government level. Not meaning to get into a discussion on how governments run, but working into construction code and such at least ensures new construction is accounting for available charging. Retrofitting older buildings will always be a problem (see: hot water, electricity, asbestos)
Ideally that cost is spread out. Good news is you're getting the rich to pay for it first, probably, the early adopters of EVs.
lmao
Plus I'll assume that's a lot of salt on the car?
is that the paint or just pure staltage?
salt
bruuuh
you drivin in the dead sea or smth?
Certainly looks the part
That's what the salt does
Now that's a sexy shot
i need it clean with the winters and then a foot deep in snow
fwd lol
Brrr
whats your fav. car brand
is that an accord or a civic
So I was thinking of getting one of these for my Mazda 5 but I'm not sure if it would look just way too tacky
I think it could look good for a bit but I'm not sure and don't want to spend the money for something I'll get rid of within a week
Depends on how bright the effect is, but it might look good at night assuming its a soft glow
I'm hoping for just a bit dimmer than how the Mercedes badge is
rust free
2010 civic
Yes
Between Porsche, ford, and koenigsegg
Toyota and Mazda
Nissan, Audi, maybe BMW, maybe Toyota, and definitely Hyundai for the bigger cars
Audi ETron sportscar honestly looks sick afffff
I better like Toyota since I own 3 of them lmao
And better like Mazda if I own one of their most infamous models

i own the infamous mazda 2
didnt take off that much suprisingly, cmon guys its a fiesta but better.
I'd rather have a Mazda 2 than a Fiesta, but Im biased towards Mazda and against Ford
laughs in Fiesta using the same platform as Mazda 2
Imagine having two fuel systems
Imagine paying โฌ1.70/liter for regular
Imagine not living in the US and buying regular only
Wait, the Previa takes premium cause boost ๐ญ
I put Premium in zhe Corsa
still have to phone my insurance company
i know they will say lol no, but i will be mad if they say lol no
Imagine not paying less than โฌ0.50 for regular

yes it costs less than โฌ0.50 where I am for 88 ron
just get a diesel car and get yourself some red diesel
just put some black ink in it
And 95/98?
Why subsidized?

lol
the CEO is a rlly good dude so gas prices very niceeee
he got sent to prison because someone else got offended when he didn't do anything
feel free to take a look lol
convert from IDR to EURO
ignore racing
no one uses that
shocks on my car are mostly gone so ill put expensive coilovers in if my insurance lets me
Does insurance really check for what suspension you have?
imagine not using AKI
Well tbh the monthly wage is probably much lower than in for example Europe

I make more than minimum wage with crypto mining ๐

everything down to stickers needs to be declared if you want to be 100% legit
its understandable not to inform them about stickers but you are definetely screwed if you dont declare performance modifications
So I'm guessing that swapping a stereo would be a gray area then
its best to try and tell them about everything but you dont really hear about people getting screwed for having a different stereo
there was cases of insurance providers looking at forums and potentially invalidating insurance policies for stuff like undeclared engine swaps
having your policy cancelled like that makes it very hard and expensive to get insurance in the future
It depends on provider
I believe mine allows modifications up until ~ยฃ300 before you need to declare it
I dunno if fitting my missing front speakers counts as a mod...
Cool
You have to contact your insurance company when you put a stereo in the car???
for some yeah
some give you a max value that you can do stuff upto like jon said
oh hello there
hey
By law you have to declare all modifications.
You might be confusing with a rule in your insurance saying that they won't charge for modifications up to ยฃ300
It only matters if you crash your car or make a claim, or you have some wacky insurance that demand a dude actually come and check out your car
some insurance companies you only have to declare certain things, mainly specialist insurers.
I only have to declare performance or aero parts on my insurance
but the law still says you have to declare all modifications
depends on the company
I have to go real specialist because of my car lmao
need to work up the strength to phone mine about something i want to do
What have you got, what are you doing and who are you with?
Mazda 2 with Hastings premier and a bunch of suspension mods
How can you have a bunch of suspension mods
lower control arms, torsion beam reinforcement, coilovers.
they'd only care about the coilovers
not taking any risks
Adrian Flux are good for modified, I was with them first
until they tried to fleece me on my renewal
yeah my last company tried that
i may have to switch and loose out on a bit of noclaims
sisters aswell but she phoned and said x company quoted me y and they matched it
yeah its a really good tactic to phone around and say "well this company offered me this, do better"
They are the customer, not you
you're a client
I still love that a S2000 is cheaper to insure than a civic and accord
ยฃ5000/y?
Something like that
I got my first year ยฃ4,000
second year ยฃ3000
thats with a 4 and 5 year NCD
my parents pay like ยฃ10/m on their cars
they dont care when people hit their car, never used insurance for anything
civics 20 years old and has tonnes of high quality bump repairs with the wrong paint used in various locations
my first year at 17 as a new driver was ยฃ930
my job also usually adds a 20% too
im a uni stoodent which im pretty sure puts off insurance aswell
lots of clowns with modified fiestas in the parking lot heh
but is it declared
lmao
Fiesta STs are pure cancer
totally ruined the UK car scene, now I only go to invite only car events
which, I always get invited to
some of them have ST badges probably not real
my main friend group consists of 3 mazda 2's, a mazda 3 and a bmw e36
My local group we have, 2 S13s, 4 S14s, 2 R34s, 4 R32s 3 supras and a few scoobies of varying models
oh yikes
yeah we don't do hoon shit in public
I'm 20 minutes away from Driftland and good friends with the dudes who run it
you are in scotland?
Yeah
yeah i dont think my mazda 2's going to be achieving much at driftland i am close though
Dunfermline
not been to a meet myself either
theres a few about
I mean they are all friendly enough communities, and I'm don't mean to be a snob, but
I like cars with character, not finance deals
the rusting out 10 year old limited edition mazda 2 with the 1.3 engine isnt much to share
wouldnt finance either
I'm about to get my skyline into the shop for a respray and bodywork stuff, and get it back on the road
I took it off the road at the first lockdown last year since I wouldn't really get much use out of it and theres no point wasting money
eww fiesta ST
thinking of getting a cheap e46 to mess around with, my driveway is pretty sketchy though.
id love to work on something that isnt pretty rusty but i guess thats sort of a pipe dream.
I mean
unless you have a budget of less than ยฃ1000
thats not a very hard dream to make reality
You just dont have to look at piece of shit cars
true
either that or learn to weld
beh its not that bad just the process of getting stuff apart
much more fun when the bolt head still resembles a hexagon
last car i worked on
anyone have opinions on the new FA24 from subi?
oo dats real nice
passed mot like 6 months before that without even a minor corrosion advisory
Idk why Japanese cars rust that fast lol
its 20 years old and im pretty sure those are the original struts heh
Usually mechanically they're very solid but they get junked/scrapped due to rust
Ah that's the Civic
Not the 2

yeah my struts arent perfect but they still have some black paint remaining

Well my point still stands, my neighbors had a Mazda 6 which was mechanically fine, but the rust was just horrendous. Not even that many miles on it
the ~2010 mazdas and what not suck for rust
3's that i liked are mostly gone and what remains oozes with rust
Yeah but it's weird, if you look at literally any other car from the same area there's no rust at all
Ok maybe surface rust on the undercarriage but nothing deep or structural
sills on the NB mx5's are basically water tanks if you arent careful
Yeah
my car has plastic side skirts so if it gets sill rust no one will know therefore its not a issue :^)
OOF
the rust on my car is pretty savable without welding if i put the effort in
ive got some paint for the civics subframe and just need to fix the abs then it might be able to skimp through another MOT
Well let me tell you this.... We owned a 2003 Peugeot 307 from 2007 to 2017. The paint on the trunk lid on those isn't great, so it started to let go a bit. Underneath, it was showing a bit of (surface) rust. So my dad bought a stickey chrome strip at the local car store, cut it to size and put it on there. The other week, I spotted the car for same again, and the chrome strip was still on there, doing it's thing
heh
our civics got rust visible from the outside in a few places mostly from not having crashes repaired
Because Japan don't use salt on their roads
so they don't treat the underbodies of their cars for salt-induced rust
the models that come here get a bit more protection
which is why you really really should have your car undersealed properly on import, and have it redone every few years
but if you import it yeah
Well they know where the car is going, depending on the region they should put something on it
imported mx5's are basically open to elements
Or even the dealer should coat it
Not if it's a private export...?
- I've never known a UK import company to not offer a undersealing service on import.
Well it also happens to cars which were meant to go to "here" (Europe)

But also most people are dumb and don't clean their cars properly
That I do not know
they think that washing the paint is cleaning their car
my cars been undersealed really well but I still jetwash the underchassis every other day in winter months
I washed mine this week even though it'll be raining/snowing, just to getval the debris/salt off it
But I've never washed the underside

but it's still good practise to get into, it's not even 30 seconds more
But getting the power washer out is a big deal lol
I usually just wash it by hand
Getting hose, run it out, put down some power, connect it all, afterwards drain everything... Soo much work ๐
I just go to the local garage
ยฃ3 for 5 minutes spray
easy done
also you don't need to use a power washer, just put your thumb over the end of the hose
Well getting the power washer out isn't that much work, running the hose is the shittiest part for me
I'd say a pressure washer would be nice for underbody stuff.
if he has that car he probably has enough to wrap it
so thats the last he want to worry about
I guess it depends on the wrap you get. And how careful they need to be with it.
And how readily available the cuts are.
from 1k to 5k average
Will Ferrell explains why he hates Norway and why General Motors is all about EVerbody In.

and
https://www.gm-trucks.com/super-bowl-commercial-preview-gm-teams-up-with-will-ferrell-to-hate-on-norway/
problem with wraps is that it can screw up your clearcoat
If done improperly, sure.
@potent ivy good one luckily this is a tech community we can help
Hmm, valve timings off?
I'd look at maintenance first like plugs or filters
oh yea plugs exsist, forgot about those, should DEFINITELY look into plug replacement
spark plugs, spark plug wires, ignition coils, distributor components/timing, and fuel injectors can all cause misfires
fuel filter, just some shitty gas
shitty gas would cause ping more likely
old fuel filter isn't likely to cause a miss either I wouldn't think. You'd just have poor fuel flow so it would run rough and struggle to accelerate
which could be interpreted as a miss
true
damn, that sucks
though I do know the pain of fuel filter replacement
it was a fucking nightmare on the Corolla
I have a new hatred for steel flared lines
no matter what I tried, I could not get that bastard to stop leaking
ended up paying a shop $100 diagnostic fee to get the leak fixed
but on my RX-7, it takes literally 2 seconds to change the fuel filter
and I have two fuel filters on it
I kinda want to replace the Previa fuel filter, but I have a feeling it uses flared lines
and flared lines are my mortal enemy
the Corolla did need it tho
the fuel that came out of the old filter was legit black
i spent like 4 hours trying to get the filter off the lines on my mr2
i had to go buy new wrenches and literally jump on the thing to get the banjo bolts to loosen
yea, I had a similar problem with the banjo on the Corolla's old filter
but when I put the banjo back on, it didn't leak
probably the same filter xD
so much less painful
possibility
the Corolla's had a Banjo on top and flared line (like a brake or clutch line) on the bottom
that looks similar, but its not the same
I bet its a royal pain in the ass on my RX too
UM
I don't know much about cars but that seems really off
Skyline fuel filters are right in its guts
You need to do a combination of a boot and back seat diving job to get to its lid

Which reminds me thats another bullshit thing I need to do
Fuel filter and fuel pump
Wahlbro 450 timeee
sweet ride homie
goodluck bro
it's all worth the effort
if it's hard on your own and you don't got the time then i recommend taking it to a shop or someone whose experienced with loomin
Problem is that not a lot of people in the UK can work on Skylines or S bodies, or whatever
Nearest dude I trust is 200 miles away
Even the Nissan dealship told me to 0121 Do One
I mean, 200 miles is a nice road trip soooooo
Road trip + modification
200 miles isn't that bad
I've done over 750 miles in a day before.
Wow
Max I've ever done is about 500km through forests and on ships
Granted I didn't drive, but goodness gracious being the GPS is tiring
It was like 1,200 km's that I did.
Yeah.
Going avg 70-80 mph
Nah. Not really.
Not that fast.
I was gone a whole day, picking up a puppy for my sister.
I do something like 500 km's a week going to/from work.
When I would drive a whole lot more with the truck at work. Then I would do over like 5,000 km's a month.
For context, going 60mph is already quite fast for a roadtrip here lol
5,000 km's a month really isn't that much when you drive almost all day.
I guess so
yes but for me to drive my car 200 miles, and then have someone to take me back, thats 400 miles and a days trip, and I work full time
Plus it's my daily
wait
you got on
an R34
r34's aren't that hard to get, its a matter of patience and money
well true
It's only Americans that can't get them
well as an american and someone who doesnt have patience and even less money it does suck
plus people write off the 4 doors as being lame, so they are turbo cheap, despite being the same as the 2 door GTT
ah
but they still look the tits
I'm just buying new bodykit for them right now, skirts, front bumper, front wings
My new spoiler is on it's way from Germany
4 door skylines are sick, both speed and comfort
absolutely
and from the A pillar forward, exactly the same as the GTR and GTT in terms of shit fitting ๐
had her sat at 350 to the tarmac before I took her off the road at the start of lockdown last year
going to get it resprayed and back on the road hopefully by summer
damn
they do tho
no
snow tires and rims. now that's smart
the tires are only like 9 years old
I too like living on the edge.
they're winterforces they're invincible apparently
wish we were able to justify snow tyres
probably rot out before they even get 5% of wear
I dont even have winter tyres lmao
I cant be fucked having a second set of alloys, and I might as well drift with my sports tyres in winter
i live on a street that is a steep hill with driveways that are a steep decline
my neighbour hit their garage door with a basically brand new ford focus
oof
they lease cars or whatever though dont actually own them

tbh who owns their cars outright these days
my family i guess heh
we all rock ยฃ2.3k max shitboxes
2 of the cars i think youd struggle to get ยฃ700 for
one of our cars hasnt had a proper alignment for atleast 13 years
clean civic is best civic, rice bad
What does rice mean to you?
something about that civic design that makes me think the entire car body is made of plastic
i could of had our spare old civic as my first car but insurance was insane on it for some reason too
Not a huge fan of new Civics... at least till I saw what Honda revealed for the next generation.
Rear end is just a Jetta
What's the hatchback like ๐
Hmmmm don't think it'll appeal to the European market
But I don't think that's their goal nowadays
Civic will get sold likely only as a hatchback in Europe.
Mind you they shutdown the UK factory.
Yeah probably, but even the sales of that are heavily declining... In 2007 they sold 120k Civic's in Europe, in 2020 just 17k
It's not their core market, they'll probably focus on anything but Europe
Ofcourse 2020 sales were down for every brand
But that's still very low
ah well.
I'm not particularly impressed with the new Civic styling. It's a nicer Jetta.
It's not that hard to achieve that lol ๐
Jetta looks aight.
wonder how well the 99-05 one sold in the UK compared to newer models
after that they gave them an arguably excessive sporty look
headlights remind me of the charger
But Corolla, Sentra, and now the Korean companies have more compelling products.
Corolla is stylish now, Sentra is a valid value proposition, and the Koreans have just... nice products.
Stylish and a good value.
I want a nice Scania S or Volvo FH.
that's a lot of space
I drive man tgl sadly
and oh god I'm not looking forward switching to one that gearbox jams very often
So in my school we learn on freightliner
They take the bed out
And it seat 5 people
Cabover vs conventional?
They are both cabovers.
R line is a more rugged truck. Where as the S line is more for longer hauling on mostly pavements.
wouldnt even fit the truck into some places regardless of trailers if it wasnt a cabover heh
Cabovers is pretty much required in many parts of Europe.
Also handy as basically everything is length restricted, so maximize it a cabover is way more efficient
Using a nose truck isn't really a problem, you just need to have a 6ft shorter trailer
Aye.
Max length here is generally 24 meters.
But a lot being allowed 25.25 meters.
And 32 meters having become a thing for certain routes as well.
24 meters is allowed to weigh 60 tonnes.
video of a truck here advertising its extra 2 meters trailer capacity and how it was good for the environment
turns a corner hooks a van and drags it along
Truck + trailer here is max 16.5m iirc
Here they all going to 53ft trailer now
Fedex still have some shorter than 53
Sliding tandem and sliding fifth wheel
Hmmm a 53ft trailer (16.15m) isn't really feasible with a max 16.5m combination length here
A Russian truck driver attempting to navigate a tight street unknowingly collided with and dragged a small car through an intersection as it rounded the corner.

Our instructor tell us when you turn
There is a max length of 12 meters inside of Stockholm.
Watch that back tandem like a hawk!
much respect for truck drivers here in Scotland, im like wow this is narrow: artic truck appears going the other direction.
Air horn
This is fairly impressive. https://youtu.be/xkKFpoELhj4
Verkligen imponerande backning! :)
You would think that...
Also. The guy had to reverse and turn around because of an underpass I think it was.
He was too tall.
i sometimes fail to see the indicators on the front of modern cars at night
Common for those trucks to be 4.45 meters tall.
super powerful headlights with a little led indicator tucked in next to them
And stupid people got to do stupid shit
Change lane at last second to get on that off ramp
Not just cars semi do that too
in lane 1 of 3 for 5th exit on the roundabout ๐ง
i dont really see trucks doing anything bad myself other than extreme tailgating
thought i was following a truck doing 40 but when i passed it i got to see the astra that was 1 meter infront of it
plenty of stupid people on the road
get their licenses out of cereal boxes and vending machines
when your mom gets a cooler car than you
she just got the Toyota RAV4 black edition
More than just that. In many parts of USA it is required to have a car to get anywhere due to how houses were all built.
That's America's charm... and downfall.
who leaves their wipers in the upright position?
i feel bad for the car
in the winter i like to keep anti ice spray to use in these conditions
mostly use it for windows or locks that ice up
If it is raining when you are driving your wipers are moving, when you turn the car off, they stay up, it where they were
well yeah that's why you turn your wipers off before you shut your engine off
just like you should also shut your HVAC off before turning the engine off as well
Why though
it's more stress on the alternator and battery during cold starts
Also it turns out it is fun to tow 23 feet of caravan and have 32 feet of car and caravan
Who cares about cold starts lol
its never cold here
i mean they're all motors
it's kind of like unplugging your pc instead of shutting it down properly
I would never forget my instructor said "watch those tandem like a hawk"
when driving a truck
scare tacit he used that he was an EMT
and respond to a case a semi tandem run over a kid in a turn
semi trucks don't have air bags
because air bags won't save you
at least my car has electrically heated windshield
We have heated mirrors
i gotta wait 5 years for my car to start producing some heat
Sadly I don't have heated mirrors
And gosh I have to remember take the battery home
I'm gonna throw my battery in the ocean tomorrow
its decided tonight was the night it wants to stop being a goodboi 12v battery and now a piece of shit 15kg 9V battery
I hate it when cars do that, mine just finishes it's cycle when I turn the car off

im a masochist who manually triggers each wipe of my wipers half the time
Anyone know much about the 90-00 Lexus LS400? I've been looking into getting one and wanted to see people's opinions of it on whether it's a good/reliable car or not. I can find a few decent ones for around 3-4k.
yeah I manually trigger my wipers a lot
guess you cant say speed with more e's than needed
my cars 3 options are every year, constant fast, and constant very fast
Manual wiper gang
2 Nissan Patrols
hey, im new here. I was wondering, whats the best car you can get after graduation (has to be under 10k, assuming i have the money)
A used Corolla or Civic.
Men will literally convince themselves that Teslas are going to be self-driving instead of going to therapy.
best is relative
it deends on what you will be using it for
your first car should be cheap. i mean cheap. you will make a lot of mistakes owning your first car so don't get anything you will attach yourself to
my first car was a cavalier. 1st gen TCS and shitty ABS
it was pretty reliable. the most reliable vehicle i've owned was a 2008 cobalt. 12 years on stock battery. never once let me down
having a battery inside the vehicle will extend its life
GM does a pretty good job with locating their batteries inside the vehicles
Idk why everyone keeps saying that lol
People told me the same stuff when I bought a fairly new car as my first car
Almost 5 years later, I haven't crashed it yet
Am I an exceptional good driver, did I just get lucky, or is it something else?
there's probably some trend that more recent drivers crash less
but again its really region dependent
driving on motorways near liverpool is like 3x scarier than edinburgh at least in my very limited sample size
will cars ever fly?
Edinburgh city bypass has several accidents daily
not been further south than Edinburgh yet
Make sure to do research on car manufactures too. I didn't realize that a 2001 Lexus ES300 was pretty much the exact same as a camry for cheaper, and it was nicer too.
Honda's and Toyota's kind of seem like they are overpriced these days based on where you get them.
closest ive come to an accident happened in Edinburgh i guess
hm yes turn right lane to go straight suddenly without indicating left
i got into an accident and made money on my car lol
doubt id be so lucky
part of me thinks you can probably put alot of those down to the density of traffic in terms of cars/lane/km
the main motorways in/out and about liverpool are friggin huge in places and at least 3/4 lanes
but the times i've driven around both, there were a bit more dangerous driving around liverpool
?
What engine is in the patrols mate
I believe when it fly people no longer call it car
ouch

-_-
350Z
Bruh
xDDDDDDDD
if you want an automatic, go for a ford crown victoria
lol
if you want manual go for a 350z
Yeah, easily moddable aswell and make a ton of power on stock engine with some basic mods
tru
if you want to make any decent power you need to swap it
at which point ur better off getting the car that you swapped it with
facts
"best" is subjective, if you want to drive to work every day then you're gonna have a bad time with a fast and furious style car
You can get a 350 for 5K and then get some mods for it
boom, easy power
You can make like 320 wheel
And if you get a bigger turbo you can easily go to 400 on stock internals
yeah
At around 550 wheel i would start swapping internals
but stocks can go like 470-490 with no issues
