The superior mid engined toyota
got my extractor sockets, makes me want to go around and replace all the corroded fasteners
honestly its hard to believe they did any corrosion prevention like zinc plating on my cars original fasteners
what do you think is the better deal, Toyota GR Supra or base C8?
C8 Corvette
It handles better, has a bullet proof motor.
You could reliably run a big ass supercharger on that engine.
nicee
What
Wait I have tesla Taxi too
I saw it the other dya

Remove the license plate on that photo above
Just like blur it out

ur newbalances are fucking dope man
In my country, at the airport, all the taxis are teslas
Well like 90% of them

Imagine having a channel dedicated for shoes 🤣
diesel
this looks like it was taken near me
ive seen that graffiti before i think
🤔 Personally I disagree but if it makes you happy: 👍
Looks horrible in the middle.
Idk I don't really see the issue, they clearly designed the bumper in such way the plate can be placed in the middle
And even then it looks bad.
Idk I'm used to every car having a plate in the middle (except Alfa's)
I sometimes see BMW with their plate lower... Idk just looks off to me
I'm used to no plates on the front.
I'm not sure that's legal in most states.
~12 inches off the ground and visible.
That's pushing it in both cases.
Well must be legal in Europe as Peugeot's came with that placement from the factory
but y some cars don't have a plate on the front and you have one ?
just remove it
problem solved
ah it's not legal in all states then ?
cars look some much better without a plate on the front
20 or so states don't have a front plate mandate.
I had the misfortune of moving to one.

Guys what color do you think I should make the sparkplug cables on my car? The valve covers are black with aluminium stripes on top
A classic ford mustang
VEEEE DUB
what year

Heres a pick of the engine bay, still has the old valve covers on it and no air filter currently cuz im working on it
But the air filter that im putting on it has a blue strip on the bottom so i was maybe thinking blue
id say blue then
true
Make your engine stand out from the rest in looks and performance. Flame-Thrower 8mm MAGx2 wires deliver in more ways than one with dual current paths for reliability and redundancy. Low 500 ohm/foot rating gets more energy to the spark plug. Select a custom tailored set for out of the box fit or a universal kit to match your unique engine and w...

Always get NGK wires. Blue wire gang
Yeah was thinking of something like that

"Vortec engines are made of pure tornadoes"
If I can find one in decent shape for less than other things, sure.
Honestly anything goes if it isn't too fucked up.
Only thing I will avoid are Fords with the 5.4.
Avoid basically all Ford Modulars
The 2-valve 5.4l is the same as the 4.6l.
Thats a common misconception that people have.
And the 3-valve 4.6 is just as bad as the 5.4l.
6.2L ftw

Single-sided swingarms aren’t that uncommon
Honda is using way thicker spokes though
Ya the ones on that generation of monster were small
And a 4 lugnut mounting
The second gen monster is a really pretty bike
But they’re quite pricey
Oh yeah
I don’t like the newer monsters as much because imo they look kinda like robotic insects
Might risk an Exploder.
But a nice basic 4x4 would be swell.
Best bet is old 4.0 Jeep.
L A M B O

I already have a Corolla.
I need something that's good in the things the Corolla isn't. Y'know snow and stuff.
Prius
Evo
bet it was a beemer
boom
get a wrx or an normal impreza
what year is your corollla
E39 i think
2019 hatchback.
Thought my car was being special, but apparently they're all fairly crap in the snow. lol
I could rant, but this article covers it. I won't even touch on why capactive touch buttons on the wheel for common controls is dumb.
Other companies have hard buttons... and you'd be hard pressed to claim that Ferraris are mass market cars.
Citroen had button turn signals, but those were on the dash... and Citroen doesn't do that anymore.
Must be a long time ago Citroen used button turn signals, not in the last few decades (unless I'm massively wrong)
Capacitive touch buttons are also in products from VW and LaRo/RaRo now (maybe even others, idk)
Not for indicators luckily
Yeah, touch controls are used in a lot of cars for things like volume or radio or whatnot, but not critical driving actions like gear selection or signals. And people have hated those existing touch controls for a while now, with some makers now going back to physical controls.
Model 3 pushed the limit, moving most wiper controls to the touchscreen and requiring multiple taps. They had a physical button on the end of a stalk you could use for single wipe or for wiper fluid. Model S now won't even have that.
So Tesla is making a shittier version of your typical F1/GT racing wheel
kinda implies that an F1 wheel is shitty no?
The F1 Wheel is tragic for daily driving and any steering input that requires you to take your hands off the wheel.
IE: more than 180 degrees of turn.
I think hiding essential controls in a touchscreen is peak stupid.
but perfect for what it needs to do, like saying a fighter jet isnt a good plane because its flight performance is unsuited for commercial flight
i feel like the motor industry has probably been moving closer to that kind of model (although probably using something a little better than capacitive shizzle) for a while
ofc, if i had the cash, i'd still get a taycan or Polestar 2
Thank god the competition in the EV space is getting fierce and we have completely normal cars that just happen to also be fully electric.
Decided I love my Volvo so much, wife wants one too, anyone with a 2016+ xc90?
Tbh, not a bad interior of the Tesla imo. Nice and modern. Cool idea for the touch buttons on the wheel, but I can imagine it getting annoying if you accidently move your hand across them. Half wheel doesn't seem too bad, just grab from the bottom when turning. I rarely ever have my hands at 10 and 2, mostly 9 and 3 with my thumbs on the thing(forgot what it's called, lmao). Musk plans on autopilot being fully autonomous this year if whatever needs to get passed gets passed. So seems like this update
is more oriented towards what will happen in the future. And if people are really annoyed with the half wheel (and it doesn't get changed when the update actually gets released to the public) I imagine there will be plenty of aftermarket items to make it a full wheel. Lol
Plus the idea of being able to play Cyberpunk 2077 in it seems pretty cool.
when reversing i put my hand at the top of the wheel so i can lean over with the other hand
not happenin with ze tesla
hi, not sure if anyones from the uk. But i found a number plate on a official number plate selling website, thats for less 1000 less than its value. if i list the plate on ebay, but i havent bought it yet i have no ownership. can i list it? i would buy it if someone is interested on ebay. would that cause problems?
kinda scummy
i get it, but if i buy it and no one wants it im stuck with it
so i was thinking if this would work.
I would not call the Tesla modern or nice
How am I supposed to use the buttons if I'm wearing gloves in the winter? How am I supposed to know how the car will pick what direction to drive in?
And there's no fucking way we get fully autonomous driving this year. Especially not functional and safe enough to just dick around and sleep/text. There's absolutely no way.
It's wrong when you need to modify your car to make it usable and ergonomic. I also doubt there will be much of an aftermarket for the steering wheels. You'd have to design around Tesla's big brain play of deleting the traditional stalks, and that's a tall order for any sane steering wheel company
Tesla was bad, and now it's on a downward spiral. If anything, Elon is cementing that he is completely insane and constantly on some pretty powerful drugs
There was no need to reinvent the steering wheel or the operation of the vehicle. Autonomous driving, and any of the associated technology, is nowhere near where it needs to be for any of this to make sense
Besides, a fully autonomous car has no need for a steering wheel or any controls as the car straight drives itself. So, if anything, Elon is trying to compromise on a halfway point that looks half baked and not thought out all the way
To me, it looks like he's designing cars that he wants. But is failing to take into consideration the people who actually buy cars. None of the Tesla's are ergonomic, user-friendly, and only a few models are barely affordable. The pricing makes zero sense for what you get. The Model X? I wouldn't pay more than $40k, yet for some god forsaken reason the MSRP is $80k+
Does not look or feel like a $80k car.
The EV market is completely fucked up right now. There's barely 2-3 decent looking/feeling EVs, but they're at least decently priced and don't have complete garbage range. Tesla has range, but nothing else going for them. And it's not long before other EVs start catching up in range, while destroying in quality and price
i think teslas good but theyre new quality is pretty butt
and autonomous driving isnt gonna be comin soon
cant wait till they actually get some more prototypes of the new roadster
mine since 2nd January 2020
crashed twice in a month December & 17th January 2021
just pretty recently starting to love her more
and did some cosmetic mods
I saw someone riding a dirtbike today...
I mean, we have -2°C, wet road and snowfall...
He gotta have balls
Autopilot won't be released this year
Steering wheel is absolutely flawed for consumer applications, especially during emergency maneuvers.
NHTSA apparently agrees.
Me from Germany, who wants to have that steering wheel
To be honest, on a "round" steering wheel i almost never used the upper half. Actually mostly I only use the lowest 20% of the wheel in daily driving apart of maneuvering into a parking lot.
If people didn't like it, people wouldn't buy it. The beta for full autonomy seems pretty promising, and Elon is pretty confident in it being released this year. Whether that actually happens or not idk. Clearly people aren't allowed to sleep or text while using it. That shouldn't change from the way autopilot is used now.
Also, a fully autonomous car should have a wheel and controls, at least in this point of time. People would be pissed if it didn't. That's like buying a Lamborghini only not being able to drive it, or something you can more relate to, buying an rx7 not being able to drive it and experience the doritos that are supposed to be controlled by your feet and hands.
Same.
Tesla Motors already is modern & nice because it does kick butt in the "establishment" of the automotive industry
And for all-electric vehicles in general, Tesla's are the objects of reference for all others.
Personally, I wouldn't say "nice". They do have a lot to improve on, such as quality of their vehicles, customer support, etc...
But I will definitely say that they are modern, if not futuristic.
If I had the money, I'd buy one though.
In essence, Tesla Motors is the reason why I can have the car I own now
Its a VW eUP
Ayyy, that's pretty neat
Though I'm planning on a Cybertruck as next one..
because I want the original... And to be fair, the eUP is just a bit too small for me to enter being 192cm tall on the long-term.
Especially when I wear boots which add another 4cm to that 🤣
Elon plans on a smaller Cybertruck for Europe...
Pro: I'm German
Con: I need a large car. 🤣
Loool
I think I saw them get wrapped before on a video, so I think so. But I have no personal experience, so I wouldn't take my word...
I just don't think it will be as strong of a connection but should still stick.
👍
People buy Tesla's for the status symbol really. I've not met anyone who owns a Tesla who wouldn't be better off with something nicer and way cheaper
"not allowed" and "not supposed to" are completely different things. People will do it regardless. There's already been videos of people seen sleeping behind the wheel of current Teslas.
From what I've seen, the progress on self driving isn't looking that great. It's progressing slower than it would need to to be released this year
The irony is that if we decatted 80% of the cars on the road today, it would still have less environmental impact than burning coal, shipping things by sea, and air travel/shipping
The least we can do is lessen the amount. Better than having both impact our environment.
Although it is going to be hard to give up them sweet exhaust sounds. 🤤
Restricting automotive emissions to the point of eliminating ICE engines doesn't solve the problem
It doesn't, but it helps.
Barely
Still better than nothing.
main benefit is busy city air quality
That's virtually the only benefit
Not like we can abandon ICE tech right now anyway.
my government wants to force it
EV tech still can't beat ICE in a vast majority of situations. Not to mention the I infrastructure and cost is just not there
Everyone wants to force a switch to EV, but I don't think any of them realize how daunting a task that is
I highly doubt anyone will be able to cough up the funds required to develop EV tech to even a basic "good enough" level, nor the funds to support a charging infrastructure on par with traditional fueling stations
EV tech isn’t at a basic “good enough” level?
Not really
Seems like this is just a bad faith argument and you just don’t like Tesla at this point tbh
Charging is slow, cost is high, availability is poor, and EVs are purely at a niche consumer level right now
Okay.
You can't go out and buy an EV for $25k and expect it to do everything a comparable $25k normal car can.
There are no good affordable EVs yet. Most EVs are geared towards people with money, who just want a new way to flex their wallet with a fancy status symbol
And the ones that the average consumer can afford, aren't good enough for the average needs
I dont think everyone wants to flex a status symbol when they buy a Tesla. 🤔
I'm down for EVs, but I strongly believe that the approach that's being taken is all wrong
I haven't met anyone who isn't buying one for the status. It's like buying an iPhone
Is it not any different from buying a sports car, like your rx7?
You think I bought my iPhone for a status symbol?
A lot of people do. Ofc iPhones are quite a bit different from cars. But my point still stands
Sure.
On one hand iPhones actually are a decent product. Beyond range, Tesla's are pretty garbage
Question, does everyone who buys a car thats more than 25k flexing a status symbol?
No they’re just average adults with a car.
Dude just has something against Tesla. It is what it is
Alright, that's what I was thinking too.
Lol, I used $25k as an example as that's a solid price a large majority of people buying cars can afford.
It's when you spend over $40-45k on something, unless it's a performance car, that you're needlessly over spending
And yes, I suppose you could say I have something against Tesla. Their cars have abysmal quality control, made even worse by looking at the price you pay.
They have had, and continue to have, a multitude of catastrophic and silly issues. And when your car breaks, it's difficult, expensive, and extremely inconvenient to get it repaired
Buying a used Tesla is quite literally one of the worst decisions you can make, thanks to a lot of Tesla's anti-consumer practices. Which are geared towards artificially increasing new car sales by making used cars a bad deal
And just the design overall is poor. The interiors are poorly designed, full of big brain ideas and poor ergonomics. A lot of the "features" and controls are pointless and end up doing it worse than the traditional method
EVs are viable in parts of the US
Aren't in my part.
Also there is a pretty dramatic lack of viable choices below 30k.
As for coal... It's on its way out in the US.
Poland be like
"let's reduce emmisions by banning petrol, diese, hybrid and alternative fuel cars instead of doing something about burning coal"
I'm not scrapping my 1000 euro crapbox
Most Tesla owners enjoy their Tesla's. Until it breaks. People want to spend their money on something new and cool, so they spend it on a Tesla. I can't blame them tbh. If I had a Tesla, I'd be doing 0-60's all the time because it's fun. I don't think buying an expensive car is a status as much as you're thinking it is.
Unless someone goes out of their way to flex that they bought it.
TIL there's a car chat here
If buying an expensive car isn't a status thing... Then what is it? I'm curious now
^
well, maybe it's about the car? you can't just pretend the only difference between an S-class an a hyundai i10 is status
Build quality and outright performance... And perceived status.
At 100k. What would you rather have? Mercedes or Tesla?
I feel like a solid amount of people in this world don't immediately thing status.
status is part of it, yeah, but even if you don't care about status and have enough money, why would you buy a cheap car rather than a better one
If people don't care about status, they'd buy a Camry and call it day.
Tesla, but that's because the 0-60, cool autopilot features, built in cameras to record people who hit you, and because it's a safe car.
Tesla technically ranks higher in safety. 🤫
Technically the Model 3 failed a pedestrian test in Europe
¯_(ツ)_/¯
And legally speaking, Autopilot is still considered a driver assist.
for good reasons
Alright, but it's still a cool feature in the Tesla. xD
Sure. No argument there
you would be completely surprised. I've never really met many people who aren't buying expensive cars for the status associated with the badge
Have you met Genesis owners? Maybe there's surprise to be had.
we could all easily get around with Corollas and CRVs without a problem. Humans always like showing off, so not everyone will get a Corolla or CRV. Some of them will get $60k Mercedes so they can laugh at people barely able to afford a lease on a shitspec Chevy Sonic
Not everyone, but definitely a decent people.
Yea, its all subjective really
people will always choose things that they want to flex
for some, they want to show that they've got money and "with the times" by buying a Tesla, even if its not the right car for their needs
for others, they'd rather flex a 90s shitbox
Teslas are the new Prius I feel
oh yea
I remember when people were buying up Prius' to flex that they were "helping the environment"
oh the irony
Nearly got a Prius
little did they know that nickel mining is bad for the environment
when I'm ready for a new daily, I've basically decided my options are going to be: new Prius, new Corolla Hybrid, or Mazda MX-30 with rotary extender
test drive them, sleep on it, debate back and forth, and pick one of those. They're really the only 3 cars that are compelling to me in any way
someone that likes that car
Where's my JDM gang at?
I wanna make some Americans jealous
My Corolla was built in Japan
I'm showing off status with my ford
I can't afford to own a car
I'm still surprised my engine runs buttery smooth after gaoing like 30k km with only 2 oil changes
and air/oil filter changes
and its has like 300k km
le only think I did if fix rust
the car doesn't look good
and it will never look good
👀👀
The Previa is officially the only car without fog lights
But not for long. The JDM headlight housings shipped
i love old toyotas sadly not the most attainable things here
They usually rust to pieces before they physically die.
they just werent that common in the UK to start with
and yeah the ones that did exist are rusted to pieces
What do you guys think about CarGurus?
I'm not very knowledgeable or huge about cars, so what does the community here think about it?
🙂
Looks like a website for cars about cars?
My best advice is to use multiple sources when doing research about cars. For example their review of the Corolla HB has one glaring digression from literally every other review I have seen, heard, or read.
It also has electric steering, which is the most dissatisfying mechanical element of the car.
Lifeless on center and too heavy and numb off-center, the electric steering is the worst thing about driving the Corolla Hatchback. And with the lane-keeping and lane-centering-assist systems engaged, it is a constant source of irritation.
Too heavy is something you will never hear about the Corolla. The steering is light. Most reviewers would complain about it being "too light, which is great for commuting but yadda yadda..."
So yeah. Multiple sources/sites/channels to keep them honest, and yourself informed. Also user reviews aren't something I'd trust. It's either a nice generic glowing review... nice if you want someone to support your tastes... or people have an axe to grind and have literally nothing nice to say.
yea, user reviews are confirmation bias
but can be helpful in the sense that you can look at the distribution of good to bad reviews
if, out of a large pool of reviews, most of them are bad; then that product is likely bad
Honestly. I place written reviews fairly low these days.
man i really need my summer wheels again :C winter wheelsa are so depressing :c also new exhaust finally installed ❤️
time to find a new car https://twitter.com/corvitz_/status/1355617518317170693
i lov explorers how much
Can I eat this car?
Also
My focus has a weird issue
Every time when I pull to a stop on neutral or clutch pressed in
The engine just dies
Only when I stop crawling
idle control valve
and or vacuum leak pertaining to that system
I hear a whistle on high load high rpm
diesel or petrol forgot to ask @fathom socket sorry
check idle valve, lpg converted petrol engines run hot and produce alot of carbon build up you may find its sticking. easy fix soak it in petrol for a few hours then the dirt buildup is easy to clean out
So I should basically remove the idle valve and soak it in petrol?
basically yes petrol is one of the best cleaners around it dissolves 99% of things
ive been a mechanic for 20 years 🙂 used to do major work for main dealers. Now i just ply with high end cars.
I'm just a broke ass man that drives like a 1200 euro car that I was lucky didn't break after 3 months
my daily is a £400 mk5 golf 2.0fsi petrol i know how it is
I have 1.8 zetec focus mk1
Mostly rust free
But my weather seal cracked in the trunk door
And water was collecting
Being a Ford the water that collected did something fords are well known for
My car looks so bad
I would say like it was washed with sandpaper
But I love the heated windshield
i hate all the salt and sludge that gets on my car daily now
Awww @ember dove you had a variant of the escort
Speaking of shifters
It seems my gearbox is pouring oil out of its seals
@fathom socket if you have Instagram search for logicvpc that will show what I deal with and have been dealing with for 2 years now
i quickly switched to a 500$ explorer that lasted 500x more miles lmao
@ember dove I'm from England we had proper escorts haha
I did 30k km with my focus with only basic maintenence
And a welded starter motor
At least I know a new technique to start my car without pushing it
Erm welded starter motor @fathom socket never come across that before
is it bad I kinda like the interior of that ford coupe
@civic girder nope its not a car is what you make it and how it makes you feel
@fathom socket ahhh you had a starter with a bad solenoid then
after installing new battery
it didn't start
and the old one was dead
I've just removed it
opened it up
seen nothing wrong other than the brushes are on the end of thier life
and it's working perfectly fine
@fathom socket @civic girder fancy seeing a car i have not long finished for a customer i have before... mid and finished pics
idk
beyond getting a new color, I don't really see what was done
nor do I understand why
people with too much money
it was done in peelable paint
so when you get bored of the colour just peel it off an its orange again
like i said people with too much money
also fabricated a custom titanium exhaust for it
what advantage does titanium have over aluminum or stainless
longevity and heat dissipation
interesting
Lighter too
much lighter
but its hard to work with
steering wheel is on the wrong side XD
no, its on the correct side
I see the appeal (pun unintended)
lmao @flint sable its unbelievable how many people want peelable paint but its 7k+ to have it
I'm pretty familiar with the check engine light glow
Because a good paintjob costs twice as much.
both my 95's have emissions related codes
dead cats?
Sanding, priming, good paint, clear coat, and whatever other work goes into that.
And as far as exotics go. Repainting tends to lower the value.
still better than whatever this truck that I drive is showing up
nah, one has a dead EGR and other is supposedly evap but I haven't actually hooked up a scan tool yet
@fathom socket ford check engine reset if you dont have a diag machine ....
- Close all doors. 2. Turn the ignition key to position II. 3. Simultaneously press the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal and hold for a minimum of 15 seconds @fathom socket
on my Toyotas, you just pull the EFI fuse and wait 10 seconds
then put it back in and start
clears the codes
@fathom socket did they give you a p code when it was reset
but they come back since its still a problem
no
need to EGR delete and jump pins on the one, and need to actually figure out what the issue is on the other
I had my car prepped for inspection
because I still need my car so I can get to my truck driving
I'm not spending 4 hours in a bus
if one car is broken, I have 3 other ones to take to work lel
EGR deleted with custome ECU tune?
lol @civic girder i have 3 on my drive and 2 in storage
EGR delete without tuning is pointless
mmm yes, let me tune my OBD1 ECU on an economy car
Lol then why do the delete?
the 1.8 zetec does not tune well at all but they do turbo very well
to get rid of the code and not pay $150+ for a new EGR
- reduce heat and help the wiring harness last longer
How does deleting EGR remove the code?
if mine breaks I'm fucked
you yank that shit out, and then jump connector pins to trick the ECU into thinking the EGR is working
tbh, wouldn't even have to take it off
can literally just paper clip short some pins
and doing like 1300 km trips with a car that I really don't know if it will break
but I will take it off for whatever weight reduction it can give me
what car is it on?
a Corolla
vvt?
that just means it will last longer 😄
Its a Toyota, it'd last forever either way
what year?
95
i have a mk2 mr2 its in storage for years at a time, always starts and drives after neglect
jap import
idk what the evap controller has to do with egr
Nah in that year they had vacuum switching valves to turn on and off the EGR.
oh those pos
I had like 3 of those break on my RX-7, didn't need em
I don't see a reason to bother fiddling with it
@civic girder oooo i like rx-7 had one sold it then got an rx-8 worst decision i ever made
lmao
had an fd for ages but the mrs wanted something more modern
that's when you abandon ship
Oh that happened not to long after luckily my latest mrs (5years so far) loves cars too
oof
My driveway currently
Mk2 golf(or rabbit to anyone US) then a mazda 3 mps and finally my daily a mk5 golf fsi
I don't have a picture of all my cars together, unfortunately. Have to have one parked at a buddy's house for now until I can move out
Then in storage I have a Toyota mr2 a jaguar xj6 executive and a mk1 fiesta xr2
which MR2
Mk2 turbo jap import ( tbar) I had it imported in 2007
nice, SW20s are cool
I'd rather have a sc AW11 tho
I've got supercharged roots, ig you couldsay
I'm just hoping i can get my hands on a winter beater this year.
I had a good deal with it so I took the chance
My 'rolla ain't great in the cold.
interesting
And I'd rather not drive her in the winter if I can avoid it.
sorry getting merry so my typing is suffering
I have a 87 rolla
The RX-7 starts great in the cold, so its interesting that a modern car is having issues
So goal is old Jeep or something off roady is in the cards for me.
Cold staring is no issue. I get heat within 5 minutes.
But icey conditions and snow are just... oof.
my mk2 golf is on a 2 barrel carb it starts in 0 Celsius with no choke old cars are unbeatable
interesting.....
Speaking of ice. Finally felt my car's stability control kick in. Absolutely weird feeling hearing/feeling your car apply brakes 4 different ways to keep you on the straight and narrow.
cause my Prius drives just fine on snow
odd that a new Corolla has difficulty with the snow
my 87 starts in -25 with relative ease
wow dont swear @civic girder
what
I imagine it could be a power band quirk.
wdym
But I have to beyond baby the car to get moving without lighting up the TCS.
And generic salt worries remain.
sounds like you can't drive?
lol
if I can drive on snow/ice without lighting up TCS in a car with instant tork
then you should be fine in a similar car but with less low end tork
I can definitely understand the fear of salt tho
hybrid lol
tbh i got to drive a range rover sport hybrid a few days ago it surprised me
i deal with anything land rover at work because where i work has the contract for repairs
oof
from brand new unregistered to 30-40+ years old we are located not far from landrovers main hq , i live not far from solihull where it all began and they still operate from
I can drive just fine.
I need to EGR delete my diesel
But there are times where the speeds I have to travel at to not slide are a bit low.
So yeah. I can drive fine.
its a common problem to leak water into the intake
previous owner put foam in the fucking body panels
car’s not worth repairing anymore
sucks cus i got attached to it
This is random, but looked cool, figured some people here might enjoy watching this.

We took this little fella for some country roads fun. The whole road segment was actually closed due to construction in the village and we had spotters on the way. Drive safe!
Edit: Thanks for all the lovely comments! Lot of questions about the specs of the car - the car is the Circuit Pack, Nokian winter tires and driving in Sport mode.
The fo...
This is one of my goals, to have all my cars in one picture. Doesn't help that of all the projects, only 4 of 7 can actually move under their own power.
at least you have a car that you actually own
Did I mention that the clips on my rear view mirror cover didn't want to live anymore?
Have seen that you can just remove the mirror and zip tie it... Which I might do.
the old but not that old civic is back on the road ready to hit some corners with a tragic alignment, bad tyres, new shock on one side and 13 + year old one on the other side.
tis the shitbox experience
You always want to do suspension components in pairs.
i know that
if it was my car it would be done in pairs
the car has a MOT soon which will decide its fate
"Why is only the one side changed? Fix the other ASAP."
because it collapsed
hmm yes mx-30
ah the mot wont care about shocks as long as they dont have oil coming out of them
we used to have a bounce test but it was removed because peopls cars fell apart heh
the cars sills are going and what not so dont want to sink any money into it incase its being crushed.
@fathom socket as in a coach built electric car or BEV swapped bentley? (both have been done)
i want one of those so bad
unfortunately they fucked up the seat mount
Oh really? Biiiig rip.
Yeah I want one too. It's so fucking cool. Lil' hatchback that's AWD.
Who would've thought, "Bro! This is a Toyota Yaris! So sick!"
like 250 probs
At least if it was Rosso corsa
Saw an autozone Eagle sticker on the side of a GTC4 lusso once
That's oddly specific
just funny that it was like a 4.99$ sticker on a 200k+ car
I must buy bird stickers
gosh I wish my car wasn't a generic looking white company car
get a wrap for your mk1 focus estate
Wrapping is muy expensive.
it deserves it though
2nd one. Might be a wee project I'll do someday. Dunno how bloody expensive that'd be though
@fathom socket More affordable than it used to be, but the hardware has gotten a lot better as well
All you're really swapping is the powertrain/electronics and the suspension stays intact
So basically 80% of the things that go wrong and you save alot of the fuel running costs
Seems pretty damn legit
There's EV swapping, and then there's making it indefinately reliable

Follow our 'second' ...
Down the rabbit hole you go
You can either pull out your brain getting the tesla system to be friendly, or buy aftermarket third-party stuff at a premium
id mess around with a mk1 yaris and a forklift motor but itd be hell to get insurance for.
Some day...
Sounds like a better project than converting an ambulance into a campervan
Which is what my uncle's doing
when do they toss away ambulances
Pretty damn high mileage I suppose
This one spent it's last working days in Orkney I believe
My Ford deserves to get fix all oil leaks that I can't afford
Only fixing transmission leaks for now
thinking of saving our honda as a project
it needs brake lines hard and soft, basically every bushing, oil leaks sorted, sill rust, subframe rust, rear suspension arms and abs troubleshooting.
oh and the other strut done on the front heh.
my car needs new seals for the transmission, new valve cover gasket, the entire rear suspention needs to be rebuild and the steering rack needs to be rebuild
dont know what the oil leak is caused by on ours its not too bad at the moment though
my car may or may not have some oil leak but i dunno if its real or not
makes a weird noise when turning on too
the alternator and battery is also gone :^|
I don't really think that the oil leaking from the heads is a big problem
but the transmission is
and the rear suspension in impossible to fix
:^ |
I thinks it's more like I need entire rear suspention
and just the suspention is something like 600 euro job
why did ford put a multilink suspention inside eco box
i mean its a reasonably big car
labour i guess maybe
especially that I can't salvage crap from my suspention
everything needs to be replaced
if its so bad that everything needs replaced its been long overdue for years
it's because rust
beh if you need the rear arms and even rear subframe theres plenty of donors at this point
your car doesent have struts on the rear so its easy enough
you might be able to find the entire rear assembly for your car
they go for like 100-150 here ofcourse not brand new
the driver side suspension is knocking
I would need to ask if they could swap
and I need a new brake caliper for the rear
just have to find a independent shop that arent clowns and are friendly enough
friend that i use is changing to truck driving :^|
I have 2 shops near me
I used to have an indioended car shop when I lived in different city
But 1 of them is scummy but i only went there to change tyres
tyre shop i went to were happy enough sending me away because my tyres still had tread
still went with it because they were dreadful
just suprised they tried to tell me i didnt need tyres
I got steel rims but they needed new valves
And also I bought winter tyres
My all sezon tyres are uneven and they have almost no traction in snow or rain
And Temps went down to - 21°c
good ps or real
Mazda gang
mazda gang
Focus gang
Nissan gang
honda fit gang
in the garage boi
🥰
took it off the road March last year, slowly rebuilding the engine and shit, its in for a respray and that soon, with a new spoiler on the way
GTT
ah yes
they didn't make 4 door GTRs
it's a mod to do that
I know
easy done, just a new bonnet bumper and wings
does it have rb26 too ?
the stagea or
yes
there was a version that had it I think
the Autech version probably did
the normal ones had the same RB25DET as the Skylines
ah yes I just made a mistake
wasn't sure
but wait do you have a stagea or did I understand sh*t ?
I have a Skyline
yeah theres a joke about the 3 door 4 door and the stagea
🤔
3 doors single, 4 doors single dad, stageas the family car
I fckin love Nissan
nice what year ^^
https://www.nottawaautosales.com/vdp/16923280/Used-2003-Ford-Ranger-Edge-SuperCab-4WD-for-sale-in-Sturgis-MI-49075 this is exactly what im looking for but the miles and rist sketch me out opinions ik theres some ranger peeps in here
98 Supra mk4 2JZ-GTE (875hp) friends.
MB GTR Pro (1 of 1 paint) friends.
WRXY loves the snow. (430hp) mine 🙂
(4 banger btw)
I am also Mazda and Toyota gang
I'd love something awd for winter
I had to shovel my driveway cause I started doing 5th gear burnouts
slid into a ditch this morning
awd probably wouldn't have saved me, but I still want an awd car to rallyx and winter beater
Maybe I can find a rusty speed 6
lol
I'd want something manual, for rallyx, but auto would be nice for winter beating
so idk
Idk manual fun
it gets old after a while, personally
I'm not having anything auto unless it's an explorer for winter/towing
I wish my Previa was awd
have to go out of your way to find a auto here generally
but its still a s/c Previa, so I can't complain
Mid engine toyota gang damn
Manual swap typically easy
have to go out of your way to find manuals around here, usually
it would be if the car wasnt wired as much as a nuclear power plant
Bleh
computer no happy
manual swapping a Previa is difficult as well
the unibodies between the 5mt and 4at are different
its even worse if you want to 5mt swap an awd previa
pretty sure you need a new driveshaft and all on the e39 among confusers n that
one day I would like to awd swap the Previa
when you factor in the costs and issues with insurance here you might aswell of bought a manual to start with
but I have no idea what all is different, so I'd pretty much have to find an awd donor car
My insurance doesn't even care I don't live in the same state anymore
which I am definitely not opposed to, parts car would be nice to have in general
my last company wouldnt let me have anything but the factory alloys
Ew
insurance here doesn't care either
lucky
I could twin turbo LS swap my RX-7 and the insurance would still cost the same
I'll have to deal with inspection when I finally get proper papers but weh
here for it to be legal you have to declare the engine to the DVLA
Mr2 emissions exempt
need the engine code and proof of ownership
imagine having emissions testing in 2021
same for changing colour :^|
Euro insurance is the worst
have to notify and declare a non standard paint job which beams your rates up
even if I had emissions testing, as of last year, my 95 Toyotas became emissions exempt lmao
the only car I'd need emissions tested is my daily, so it would be of no consequence
glad I don't live in the counties with emissions testing
needs to be 40 years old here to be inspection exempt
imagine having inspections
It's gonna suck buying a speed 3 and not straight piping it
unless you have nice insurance they wont cover you if you dont continue to MOT it
I hate straight pipes
I hate the smell but I want bang bang
the back box fell off my 1.3 mazda 2
at least have a muffler pls. I don't want my ears bleeding
my RX-7 pops on stock exhaust
i can understand it on a mr2 but a shitty little mazda 2 making those noises
also has a destroyed cat tho
No cats left on mine
I need to cat delete the RX-7
Just need to buy a header and resonator, and take the old stuff
also if you make a substantial change your exemption resets
and have to wait 30 years before its exempt again
Fuckin wot
yep
that's the dumbest thing I've heard all day
its only 30 years just be patient
So you can't actually modify anything old
well you can you just need to MOT it
funny thing with modern cars is the MOT testers arent allowed to remove anything
so with all the plastic covers, plastic side skirts and what not so many of the rust points are hidden
Gg
engine swap then put a plastic cover over it. They'll never know
beh if you crash it ya dead
then don't crash
anythings possible
my friends claim is still in dispute
clown in a volvo suv decided he would change lanes without looking
yep
me getting nervous whenever someone slingshots past me on snow and ice
also nervous when you're matching speed
Don't usually have to worry about that here since 98% of people drive autos
but occasionally you'll get a smoothbrain who puts it in park, and then mis-shifts it into reverse instead of drive
the amount of people here that at hills in stationary traffic hold it on the clutch is painful
just going backwards and forwards
holding with the clutch is tremendously stupid
and no easier on your legs than holding with the brakes
I seen some dude in a jeep doing that once
I tried to call him an idiot but he refused to look at me and my superior manual driving
every once in a while if there is no one behind me ill hold on the clutch and try to get a perfect balance to practice my clutch control
I hate 3rd gen fiat Ducato, Citroën Jumper II and peugeot boxter II
They always blind me when they are behind me
Isnt a porshe a VW van with extra steps
Guess the issue. And you'll receive an internet cookie.
No fuel? Parking brake on while doin 20km/h?
on the gauge
did i guess it?
Still have a solid 5-ish liters of fuel left. 50 km range. Parking brake is not on.
wut
Need to fuel up tomorrow morning, tho.
but the red ligtht down in the right corner
It's a combination of lights that are all lit together.
One common issue causes those lights to light up at once.
i cannot see the light in between the two gauges
Hint - I have no ABS, TC, or Stability control.
oh
The light in the middle is for the traction control.
k
Far right is ABS light.
idk lol
Very likely a bad/dirty wheel speed sensor.
our old civic consumes wheel speed sensors
abs light is on at the moment probably cause of one.
yes very very very many extra steps
isnt any car a ford model T with extra steps?

hi
No
Except the E92 M3
what is ur fav car
We have to hate that
yee
yesss
lol
he makes it look bad
noo
jakes doent have m3
he has like 335I
hello
anyone there
bro
@sullen flower
Ah
No he had a E92 335i, he now has a E90 M3
For like... 2 years already
oo
Vroom Vroom tech tips
should i overclock my engine to 5GRPM?
5,000,000,000 RPM? 🤔
I like the Sedan M's over the coupes.
Ive put some thought into it, and I think I can do it if I apply liquid metal and delid my engine
Welp, shes not good
You will convert your car into an airplane?
✈️
Gimme one of those guns.
Want to mount it on an extendable remote turret platform on my future Cybertruck^^
Oooo thats bad
I'm dumb and I don't really understand what's exacly wrong
i should probably check the oil on the civic
ive got the filter for my car just need to get the oil heh
*thieves
Old Volkswagens go on for ever but did you ever realise how easy they are to start even with a flat battery.
This is my beetle being started with a cargo strap on a standard Alternator pulley.
just up ahead i consumeth pothole covered with water :^|
Nice S P E E D for the road lol
thats slow smh
yeah gotta go faster to smooth it out 🧠
exaaaactly
trying to avoid hefty puddles and everyone on the other side with no puddles is tracking the centre line with their wheels :^(
id probably fumble on the button and end up getting it stuck on and sliding to a stop
lol you think thats narrow
Yeah that's not really that narrow lol
Depends on the game lmao
2012 pothole eater 9000
thats practically as wide as the bloomin' road!
