are you sure itll need an alignment once its fixed
That is done sick steering anytime you got bro
increased toe in for extreme high speed stability
Das toe out
The Accord crashed at night probably, when we had lockdown. Accord crashed near junction.
classic accords
I can relate
that looks like a Civic lmao
for a while i dont think US got same cibics as us
did US get this?
noh
We got something along those lines I'm pretty sure
front end looks like something we got
prolly called something different
2014 american civic
non us 2014 civic
tbh people talking about american cars always gets confusing for me
all these names i've never heard of or seen in person on the road
or names i've heard but completely different cars
(this is our 7th gen)
i think us got it in the some amount but only as like a sport version
maybe just imports
dont you just love it when you see a 2006 nissan centra with a non existent steering shaft?
We took this little fella for some country roads fun. The whole road segment was actually closed due to construction in the village and we had spotters on the way. Drive safe!
Edit: Thanks for all the lovely comments! Lot of questions about the specs of the car - the car is the Circuit Pack, Nokian winter tires and driving in Sport mode.

i like the mini gp better....
but its perssonal preference aftr all
you could buy this brand new in 94

@quasi lava nice seeing my hometown has bad drivers
its gonna be starting production post cybertruck "inside scoop from man who may or may not work at tesla that i may or may not know that may or may not work on the cybertruck"
After they start with the Cyber Truck. Or after it's production?
after they effectively launch the cybertruck for sale expect production to slowly start
he/she may have also said cybertruck is within 3-5 years from the road
Wouldn't surprise me.
Ngl, I kinda liked the cybertruck but it looks a bit dated now
Takes a long-ass while for anything to get through development stuff.
And safety testing etc.
And then you also have the Tesla Semi.
BMW YARIS
It has a i4 engine or i3 idk
The 2020 Supra is BMW made
well I prefer Civic Type R or Evo X
Evo X is about a decade old.
Its 5 years old
And the Type R isn't a rally machine.
subaru
Evo X design is over a decade old... and honestly the 4B11 never attained the same following the previous Evos did.
Fair enough.
I'll stick with Toyota. I do wonder how they'll make the Corolla GR interesting.
Cobalt SS.
That is all
🤔
Z4 is tiny af lmao
Oh yeah the Z3 and first gen Z4 aren't big cars.
But I wouldn't mind either of the hardtops.
I like the design and idea.
Yeah
My dad would be squished in those cars
Even my bros
I even found a E32 for $3000
Well, for only 3000 grand more you can get it fixed up.
And you'll have overpaid for an old 7.
I can tell.
Yeah
i8 is horrible
Its slowwww
Btw I can get a Gallardo in my country for $60000
60 thousand dollars
Abd add exhausts and a lotta hp it can also replace a Huracan
But lambo parts are Expensive af
Even BMW
Even my Chevy Trailblazer parts are expensive

I like the I8 but it's horrifically unreliable
It is a first generation plug in hybrid exotic car.
Honestly I'd say that's totally fair... for once.
its probably one of those cars that will become rather popular in the future i imagine
It's kind of funny that my focus started right up on first crank
I had to warmup and charge the battery
But it started with no issues
Why the hood go that high
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2517064868595804/ is this any good? I have been looking for one for a while
Car is awd 6 speed manual runs and drives great has new drilled slotted rotors and brakes to go with it just has a few minor things to fix but can drive it home today may take trades trade
To be different
Lel
Service position
for real?
yes
?
I just made some kids night. I think.
I turned into a parking lot. Skidded around for a little bit. And they looked to be cheering me on.
I left the place dumping second gear.
Makes me hate having an open diff even more.
haha
OPEN DIFF GANG UNITE
open diffs are horrible for when you dip one of your front wheels into mud
hm yes this is the appropriate wheel to give all the power
also fwd :^|
parked as a porsche owner
looks like they were going for the single bay and not taking two on purpose aswell :^|
997 turbo?
Lightly squeeze the brakes. Poor man's LSD...
Just a bit tricky with manuals.
wouldnt be hard for me to do i think, ive got a heel toe cheater pedal :^|
?
Lightly blow the engine. Poor man's E-brake...
Just a bit tricky with manuals.

@civic girder did you decat the rx-7 yet
no, I've been lazy and its winter
ah okay
i just saw a post on reddit where someone decatted their rx-7 and thought it was you
ah okay

Looks like fun
I wanna get a new car but the wife said no 😦
basically Eau Rouge
How about wheel chains?
bit excessive and only legal in deep snow
Hammer nails into the tires and call it Spike wheels
illegal
Say who
Of which country?
UK
UK.... Thats a special case...
damages the road surface too much
I don't have that Problem. Cant damage a road where none is 🤣
surface is screwed here too, doesent need screwed any more
More screws should fix it
Anyway... Good luck ^^
Only way for u is downwards and hope theres another way around
Or do it like the military and lay woodplanks to drive on.

why would someone buy a tesla in china if they can buy a byd
A new hobby I've been doing with a couple of friends. This is the engine on my go kart that I just installed and is kitted to stage three. Be aware the video is on the loud side. If you enjoyed Subscribe to the channel and like the video. I also plan to have a new gaming video up shortly!
not a car, but a go kart lol
speaking of go karts
how terrible of an idea would it be to build a go kart from scratch with an ls9 engine
or really anything more than a lawnmower or typical go kart engine
Status?
S u r e
Sounds a bit like my car.
Very nice
Nice. A party machine.
That Fiesta looks like it's in a great shape 👀
I need to give my car a bunch of TLC.

Need to refresh the coolant system. New hoses, expansion tank, etc.
I want to put a new exhaust in mine
what are the laws on tinting windows in the UK?
and are there any laws on lowering the suspension?
None that I know of. As long as headlights and stuff are at the correct height.
hmm..
I’m thinking of tinting my fiestas windows a smidge
Lowering it
and sticking a booming exhaust on it
Want a fat tip?
Don't.
Why?
Stay clean and legal.
Isn’t all that legal?
well for one the tint will probably get you pulled over more
Scrap the tint then
Same with being lowered. And having an exhaust.
lowering will p much destroy your ride and you'll wreck your exhaust on speedbumps (at least a sleeping policeman thingy)
It might not be illegal. But it for sure draws the attention of the police.
My sisters boyfriend has like the special edition bmw that’s like all carbon fibre, he put a mega loud exhaust on it which got many complaints from the neighbours but the police said it was fine and that they couldn’t do anything
nothing wrong with a stock Fiesta mk4
yeah, I agree, but I want it to roarrrr
Doesn't mean that he doesn't get the wrong impressions from people.
well for one you wont be going to a funeral in it
Trust me when I say, just stay clean and legal, until at least the age of 25.
only mod i'd consider rn is a bangin stereo for me tunes
but cost of sub 300 and absolute minimal modification of the car itself so you dont have to declare it
(i wont actually do that though)
Also - Remember that you're driving a <1,000£ shit box. If I'm going to be blunt about it.
There is no need to spend as much as the car is worth on anything. Unless it's stuff like tires.
hey the MK4 is not a shit box, even if it did cost £700
And service.
if you heavily modify something like that you just kinda end up looking a bit silly
I wasn’t gonna heavily modify it, just a new exhaust and whatnot
A boring car is a good car.
And remember. Just having any sort of personal transportation is amazing when you're young.
Cheers guys
I’ll keep my “shit box” as it is for now haha, thanks
I bought it for meeting with my girlfriend and getting to college
Is the car written in your name? Insurance and all?
Then yeah. Keep it as vanilla as possible.
And stay safe on the roads.
Remember to check how old the tires are as well. Don't drive on ancient rubber.
I always get called weird for it being my dream car for 2 years though lol
I’ve always loved them
Old Ford fiestas are the way to go
Yo wtf?
2 things 2 say. Numero uno. Nice cars! Numero dos. Nice garage!
Also how does a jeep sound for a first car?
USDM bumpers
Whats USDM bumpers?
Uglier than the bumpers intended by the manufacturer
The big rubber things
For example that Carrera 4 on the right, the black rubber things besides the license plate
Yes

Us domestic market
The Chiron has terrible ones too
Most Chiron owners remove them
Yeah the Chiron has some ugly ones as well

Or cars with harmonica bumpers
Like this
It does devaluate the design so much
Hmmm.
what do those rubber things do
ye but what regulation makes them needed to be put there
Pop ups are more expensive, heavier, more prone to failure, and don't jive with pedestrian safety.
And aren't great for aerodynamics.
Till it breaks and only one light works.
And there are many others who had.
still cooler
be me and have LED popups lmao
I don't care for popups. I feel I'd forget to ever put them down.
But that's just me.
Other than messing with highway fuel economy.
POPUPS 🤤
I bought the donut media shirt lmao
Dude I want the pop-up shirt
koenigsegg???
Yes
Typical miata owner
Jesko is sick
I like some modern cars, but they'll never beat the 70s and 80s designs.. or 50s American cars
(pic is my Citroën BX)
Oooh

passaaaat vs 15 tonnes
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I love the look of this car
when I was a kid my grandfather had this car
citroen AX's used to be the shit here
that back end is hideous
i dont like it
I think it's already discontinued tbh
It was a short run specifically for the Middle East
Limited run
Ah yes, according to Wikipedia:

Awesome BX!
Thanks!
It's a great car to drive
It had a couple of issues some time last year - hydraulic system had a couple of leaks - but I managed to get the parts for it and get them replaced
Man. I love the engineering of the Koenigsegg cars.
technically no transmission on the regera
I cleaned my ute, came back 10 minutes later and see this
sooooo. my mom was teasing m e abou tgetting a trd camery. ( i cannot spell) 2020
I feel like trd camry isnt worth it
Explorer from within a explorer
My moms friend has the same trim and year explorer i do
S class.
Apparently the key sucked
Reminds me how I saw an RS4 the other day.
Parked in a handicap spot (with a permit).
Thing was not even 2 months old.
nice they are really making use of limited space
hondas nice they will sell me bolts for a 20 year old car just fine, granted a bit on the steep end of pricing. meanwhile my 10 year old car which has been out of production for like 6 years mazda are like what do you mean bolt?!
Nice
My mustang (currently being restored) running without an exhaust
Why is it a stupid download file
me and the boys at 3 am in the Walmart parking lot
i remember when my cougar used to sound like that lol
This was before the engine blew up
rip engine number 1
previous owner lied about it's condition
oofs
he said he just rebuilt it but nooooooooooo
lol
luckily we got a new engine that should have about like 400bhp
5.0
Ours was built by a tuning shop but I forgot the name
I think it was called roadjam motorsports?
this is what it looks like now
oooo nice
indeed :P
i got really lucky when i got my car
ya see, there are only about 2,000 67 Cougars left in existence
the previous owner built demo derby cars for living, and i'm guessing that if i didn't buy it, he would've turned it into a demo derby car
it was already kind of stripped down
i didn't think he knew how rare they were either, i got it for $4,000 when they usually go for $20,000
kind of? it spent most of it's life in california before coming to the midwest
shouldn't be too bad then, my dad has a 66 ford pickup which isn't rusted trough at all, cuz it spent all its time just standing outside in cali, we had to fix some rust tho, not a lot
.
there it is doing a burnout lol
nice
Ford F-150
Yupp. That is a car.
i’m getting a 2014 mazda for free as my first car :))
Good 4u
You should get a ford mustang 1988
@fathom socket
And electrify it
Lol
honestly i’m just getting what i can. it was a family members car
i do want a 350z tho😤
also, what could i do to make it better. it already has bose speakers in it
This is what I got for free
I would wait a while to do any real modifications other than purely cosmetic ones. A good cheap start would be just a steering wheel
I guess a new stereo would pair well with that
#MyFirstOwnCar
lol my friend test drove a golf recently and the guy was being insanely pushy at arnold clark arnold shark
he was basically saying the car was his and the agreement was done
sad to think thats probably caught someone out
Yikesss
honestly the story is hard to believe but i know arnold clark is that bad
At least in Germany, we have promotions for installing a 11kW wallbox with 900€ per installation.
So in essence if the box costs 650€ and the installation a round 250€, you pay 0€ in total for it. 👍
It doesn't support 11kW AC charging tho, right?
7,2kW AC, 42kW DC
And as every household in Germany does have 3-phased by default, we don't have much issues regarding those installations.
Germany has some sick government grants/promotions on EVs
Wish the US did.
I wonder if my apartment complex would indulge me by installing a charger in my garage.
The worst of them is a 4k€ promotion on buying a hybrid..
So ppl buy them not because they have an electric motor, but because it does have a lower theoretical Co2 rating and gets some advantages like being tax-free
hybrids tend to have higher Co2 emissions because they never use thier electric engine but have to carry the additional weight of the 2nd propulsion system
VW has quite a lot of PHEVs now
Hybrids always use their electric motors.
Honda hybrids are designed to almost exclusively use the electric motors.
Well... Most of all hybrid car users just drive the normal gasoline part of the vehicle and disable recuperation because they want to let roll out the car and use the mechanical brake
You can't disable that.
Sadly, you can.
Tell that VW, Mercedes, Audi & BMW
Something no one does.
They fucked with their emissions.
Last I checked Mercedes hybrid systems are mild, and are literally built into the car. There's no way to turn it off.
VW barely builds any hybrids.
I mean, I even can turn off recuperation (engine>generator braking) in my full electric car.
The Dutch EV grant is €4k for a new EV for private owner, sadly they only had a budget for 277 cars
They're programmed into the operation of the car.
So the entire budget was empty within 24 hours
At least it was used.
Sure, but then make it 1000€ so 4* more people can receive something, or €500 for 8* more
People would still buy them
Worth it in Europe.
The fun part:
While the automotive companies themselves try to advertise all-electric vehicles, their own car dealerships mostly advise against an electric vehicle, even if the user profile 100% matches.
Yes.
That's why we should allow direct sales from automaker to customer.
We don't need dealers.
Thats what companies like VW did... The contract/payment all goes to the VW group direct, while the dealerships just get a fixed payment and are only there for support & consultation
U may see the issue
VW in 🇳🇱 is the worst, the importer buys the cars without warranty from VW and then "provides" the warranty themselves
So they don't
And where in many other countries cars got good warranty services for many things (TSI, DSG...), they didn't in 🇳🇱
VW in the US stopped caring again.
A few years ago they offered a 7 year warranty. 72k miles.
They stopped it, and now it's 2 years 24k miles. For reasons.
What again did Tesla offer? 8yrs or 200k miles?
It has never been more than 2 years for VW here
Tesla changes their warranty every 3 weeks
Many EVs are now being sold with 6y/100k mile warranty here
oh, oof
I dont like the ID series. Im happy I got an eUP
Also VW in the US doesn't do direct payments.
It's a dealer franchise model last I checked.
Most manufacturers have different warranties depending on drivetrain and other stuff.
Tesla's issues aren't usually drivetrain related.
EV's motors are stupid simple. So they pretty much won't ever have issues with those.
I don't think the ID.3 is a bad car (although a lot of questionable decisions were made), but their tech is still buggy AF
I wished it was more of a normal car. And less of a tech show case.
That's the way it's going.
the motors simple yes but they find plenty of places to add in confusers ahead of it, basically dealer only when it goes wrong.
Dealers don't care to get it right.
I don't mind it having screens, but the implementations of those screens
For my next car after the eUP I wait on the CT..
Does only have one or two screens, but thats fine.
CT?
CyberTruck
I doubt it will be sold in Europe.
& I'm an optimistic person.
It won't
It won't for sure
It's more likely to see the EV F150
Size & pedestrian Safety is no reason why it couldnt get allowed in europe or germany tbh.
lol this things could NEVER be legal on the road here
CyberTruck is already too big for the US.
itd need the front cut off and replaced with plastic heh
Yes it is
Pedestrian safety is the #1 reason it won't get allowed in Europe.
Cybertruck is about average pickup size in US
It's about the size of the F150
And the F150 Raptor is an average pickup
Every car looks like how they do now for pedestrian protection
it isn't.
more talking about width
The Raptor is shorter.
But much wider.
F150 crew cab with 6'5 bed is very common.
Most trucks offer a crew cab variation.
model x's are already too wide here
While you are waiting for the cubertruck, others will catch up and start to produce their own product.
Last time I've checked the F150 didn't have a 90° angle of aluminum sticking out of the front
When is the cybertruck even being produced and released?
soon™️
Do we have any details how it will look like other than the reveal stuff?
Thats just false information. The question never was if its getting a permission as personell transportation vehicle (in german PKW). But most trucks, 40t ones, offroad vehicles with road allowance & construction site vehicles do have even worse "pedestrian safety" than the CT
When production starrs, is, European even the chance of getting it on European roads is still years away
That's a bold claim considering we know almost nothing about the Cyber Truck.
To sell in Europe you must meet minimum regulations.
It's rumored to start production in late 2021. With more options coming in 2022. So not really that close yet.
Tesla can potentially avoid those in the US since trucks over a certain weight aren't subject to crash tests.
Nobody is going to purchase a Cybertruck and register it as a PKW, and I'd say even a massive cab-over is more pedestrian friendly as it's 100% plastic in the front
If it doesn't fit in the 3,500 kg weight range. Then it won't really sell in Europe.
Or 40t trucks... or y'know... other things?
The Cybertruck is intended to be below 3,5t in weight.
It won't be.
It will be a fucking heavy truck.
All steel, massive battery, AWD.
F150 weighs anywhere from 4000-5000 pounds.
Yes
It's very likely that the cybertruck will be in the 3,000 kg range kerb weight.
There was a big rumor on german media that the CT never could get a vehicle registration in Germany because the "TÜV" mentioned that.
But bad for the TÜV, that they do not decide if a car gets a registration
When it's over 3000kg, don't forget you can only put up to 3500kg total in it including passengers and cargo
That's fine in that case.
It's not like the CyberTruck will ever get used as a truck.
So if it ways 3250kg, you can only put like 2-3 persons in it without any cargo
It's going to be the greatest lot queen you have ever seen.
And man oh man that stainless steel body is gonna look distressed after a few months.
A big problem with the weight is really that we can only speculate. Since there are no real numbers yet.
According to Tesla.
It's going to be a medium duty truck.
That's going to put it against serious competition.
The Model X weights less than 2,5t..
And the steel of the CT is supposed to cause less weight than aluminium chassis. Ofc the CT is supposed to have a higher battery size.
I'll believe it when I see it.
I find places say anywhere between 5,000 and 6,500 pounds.
That's heavier than an F150 on average.
Should depend on the version. Guessing that the tri-motor one will be in the upper range. So closer to that 3,000 kg mark.
And if we're going on Tesla's size claim... their tow ratings look less brilliant.
They're up against the heavy duty lines from Ford, GM, and FCA. Meaning they gotta compete against diesels.
Honestly. Almost everything we know about Tesla is pure speculation.
I just searched a bit..
In fact, the Cybertruck could get a plate in Germany, if you register it as M1(G) or N1(G).
But that information is - similar like the statement that it wont get a plate - only speculation as long as it isnt out yet.
I don't know what those registrations mean.
And does M1(G) or whatever require a license or special endorsement?
in the UK you can only drive up to 3.5 tonnes on a normal drivers license nowadays
Its the european categorization standard for vehicle classifikations
my parents can do like 8 tonnes or something cause of grandfather rights
Okay. So means that it can only go up to 3,500 kg. I take it.
yeah that includes anything in the vehicle n trailers sorta tho
Yeah, I know that.
That's going to be tight.
Meaning that it wouldn't be able to tow anything with the heavier version of the cybertruck.
Unless you registered it as a heavy duty truck.
And got yourself a CE license.
sounds like fun
itd be a monster truck where i live though so theres no chance its coming here
To make things simplier:
Vehicles such as campers, and busses are M1.
M stands for person transport
N for material transport
G stands for offroad
That sounds like a special license requirement.
M1G vehicles are allowed to weight 5t and tow an additional 3,5t*
I get these sizes, but my question remains.
Do you need to take extra tests for these whatevers?
i would
And you live in the EU, right?
oh, RIP
A normal license will only allow you to drive a vehicle weighing at most 3,500 kg in Europe.
muh license
A vehicle category classifies a land vehicle or trailer for regulatory purposes.
I'm still not sure how Tesla is going to go about certifying their tow ratings in the US.
And about the weight..
Even if its 7,5tons, doing C1 isnt that hard.
It's still extra work most don't want to go through.
tis expensive is it not
C1 is like... the requirement if you work in the transportation/industry business
like a grand
U know, that doing a normal PKW/B license costs 1-2k alone?
That's really expensive.
If you want to drive anything more than 3,500 kg for work. Then you also require further stuff. You require something called Work Competence. Or whatever it is in English.
Do yourself a favor and search for what u need to pay and do in order to get a B license in Germany 😄
me in the UK paying like £60 for a test
And I can't read German.
In Germany the driving licence ("Führerschein") is a governmental privilege given to those who request a licence for any of the categories they desire. It is required for every type of motorised vehicle with the exception of the smallest mopeds below 50 cm³, with a speed limit of 25 km/h, as well as motorised bicycles (even for these, there is a...
Me getting a license to tow trailers with trucks (CE) will be at least €1,500.
so many people here tow tonnes without their B and E
If I remember an american reporter statement:
Doing a driving license in Germany would allow you to fly for South-West American airlines
What's fkq
farmers shit

Can't drive that with my B-license
okay... so taking a license in Germany means you can only operate one type of vehicle.
SouthWest Airlines is notable for only flying one aircraft type.
80% of the theory tests for C and CE are just the normal car-license stuff.
i hate the hazard perception stuff
Same.
it compromises of several practical lessons in different conditions (city, country, autobahn >120kph & during night)
Several lessons also in theory. usually a 20-30 hours for each, more if you have difficulties.
U need to do a theoretical exam and need to pass with less than 10 errors.
Also need to do a practical test within a city with both your instructor and inspector
Standard time it takes to get a license: 2-4 Months.
Money: 1-2k€
Size, pedestrian safety, and apparently weight, remain concerns.
And frankly, I question the truck's ability to be a truck in the US.
"Driver Certificate of Professional Competence"
That's what it's called in English.
My instructor wanted me to drive at least* 125mph ^^
Unibodies have fared poorly in the US.
i dont even know if my car could get to 125
High bed sides make it questionable for 5th wheel applications.
You require that if you want to use vehicles weighing more than 3,500 kg for anything work related.
I learned driving in a Mercedes C220
for it to be legal, it'd need to fit in standard lane widths. otherwise you wouldn't be allowed more than 10 km/h with warning lights constantly blinkig
i learned in the high performance vehicle: vauxhall corsa.
Which is a 140 hour course that you need to take. Along with a test.
The fastest vehicle you can have is always the rental.
someone here drove their instructors car into a hedge and still passed
US tests are easy.
deep scratches in the paint
wtf
narrow roads
Japan's test less so.
but why did they pass lmao
Funfact: Tesla Motors already offers preordering the CT especially in Germany
it wasnt really a big issue
I learned driving in a Renault Clio IV 1.5 dCi
i dink my mirror into the hedge often enough
Tesla offers preorders to everyone with 100 dollars.
If they'll actually sell it there is another question.
And to be honest, Im living countryside. We do not even have roads with markings. So Autopilot doesnt interest me. But wheel size & ground clearance, resistance against scratches from rubble etc does interest me severley.
That's just so that they can stats-pad.
And stats have been padded very well.
"Hey look at us! Look at how many pre-orders that we have!"
Also in 🇳🇱 but they can just refund it, it's not a big deal
When it comes to people actually paying for the vehicles, then it's a different story.
Accepting pre-orders and actually selling the product are 2 different things
A lot of Model 3 owners dropped their preorders.
It's also $100 with zero commitment.
isnt it kind of scuffed they can do it with no expecation of actually selling the product in that country
44 grand for an high performance offroad electric vehicle doesnt sound expensive to me
I think here in germany it would be illegal to have the hedge so close to the road (not quite sure tho)
44 grand compared to the 30k for a Jeep.
send the hedge to jail
So a big win for the electric vehicle
Not really?
Cause when we're comparing truck to truck.
You can get a work truck for less... and it will tow more.
15k difference for the ease of no engine repairs/maintenance, no oil checks, no refuel station, no sound, higher engine performance.
hedges are a nice soft crash barrier provided by nature.
electric = no taxes in germany (for a few years still, after that determined by weight so maybe CT won't be that great...)
You still need to recharge... which still takes much longer to do than refueling.
Indeed, but not as extensively as for gasoline vehicles.
Tow range will be crippled.
Also range itself collapses in winter up North.
30% less range in the base model would make it useless.
It's a wonderful mall crawler, but as an actual thing to use... kinda crap.
Oh, the Cybertruck doesn't even have a price over here in Sweden.
That I can not confirm.
With my current eUP I drive like with every other car when I'm on the road.
Left lane max speed & climate control with more than 20°C difference to outside temp. Didnt drain much more..
Try winters that go -30 C.
There's just a price for the self-driving stuff. Which is over 77,000 SEK for it.
And it's not faster drain, it's flat out less range.
Well... Didnt drain much more to when I use the car in the summer, as its the exact same scenario, just cooling down instead of heating up while driving Vmax
Than you are unique.
Because 90% of EVs lose a noticeable amount of range.
The other 10% are lying.
I'm one of those german stereotypes who drive the max speed allowed or slightly above it whenever they can. That includes 200kph/125mph+ when the car and the autobahn allows to
we have no winters im germany that go -30° C, in fact they even got up to 16-20° C in the last years
... yeah.
Usually we have -10°C in winter
Real winters will kill battery.
Heavily depends on the region tho
I see no significant change.
My eUP is stated with 220km range. I never got above 160 tbh
That's pretty horrible.
-30 is maybe excessive but it does get quite cold in certain area's
160km range for a 38kWh battery isn't good
Actually, the eUP is stated by the manufacturer with 260km Range. By the ADAC with 220km and realistically I get 160
yeah, 16-20 is just the peaks, but I've never heard of -30° anywhere inside of germany
I never said I did.
32kWh netto
I'm one of those german stereotypes who drive the max speed allowed or slightly above it whenever they can. That includes 200kph/125mph+ when the car and the autobahn allows to
Your sentence implies otherwise.
so what does the car allow
130 km/h apparently.
Google Maps says about 135 over a duration of 20min
wut
so they could just put a gearbox in?
Tesla Model 3 can drive 261kph (>155mph)
Also, if we're being totally honest.
compared to ICE thats nothing
Going over 70mph in an EV is stupid.
You are defeating the point of efficiency by going faster.
compared to planes thats nothing
Range goes down like crazy
good thing we're talking about cars.
And yes, compared to ICE, EV top speeds are a far cry.
I'm a bad example for a BEV driver.
I'm about speed. I don't care much about Co2 and do own a gasoline quad for fun
so why the eUp then? I would really like to buy an ev, but 130km/h vmax is just too low
I wanted to have a BEV. It does sufficient service for my current needs and budget.
Because it's cheap
eUP is cheap-cheap-cheap. And you get heaps of incentives for buying EV.
So cost up-front is low.
My driving style may result in a netto range 60% of the "official" one stated available, but thats still sufficient for me... and tbh I estimated/assumed already that the realistic range only is a bit more than half of what the manufacturer tries to state.
130 km/h i splenty.
130 kmh is enough for me, too. Generally the fastest I go during my commute to work.
130kph/80mph may be sufficient for most other countries.
For german standards, thats F slow.
I disagree, but it probably is for most people
It is for most people.
Idk 130 is just below my cruising speeds, and I need some more for overtaking
Because in most countries, the speed limits are there.
Non-autobahn speed limit is 100kph.
LKWs/Trucks drive 70-80kph, so thats still easy overtaking.
Meh I've driven plenty of times in Germany, loads of area's aren't unrestricted, and when it's unrestricted you're already going "fast" when doing 130 excluding the few going 200+
My previous car was a Golf 3 Cabrio Bon Jovi
yeah a lot of folks just put 120 cruise control to not have to worry about restricted areas
Germany also has the habit of using different speed limits every 300 meter, which is ridiculous
In my parents car (C320) I tend to be one of those 200+
Cool
Idk if that is "cool" ...
Imo all others are just slow
I literally like to go after the saying:
We paid for the whole car, we gotta use the whole car.
They max out at 90 kmh.
So you're one of the slow guys as well
May do that in the Cybertruck.
Sound shouldnt be an issue when u drive 200kph with 35" offroad tires
also depends which autobahn you're driving on tho (and at which time), some are just too full to drive fast, others are practically empty
I probably wouldn't be driving 200 kmh on the autobahn with my E46, even when it can do it.
Lol sure thing
Have fun driving from charger to charger every 100km
just buy a diesel
That was one major reason I wanted an electric car.
Dont need to drive to a fuel station and have the pain of paying physical money.
wut
I'd love to own an EV and just plug it in each day.
beh i only use pay at pumps
But it doesn't work where I live.
8L/100km ... What a dream number
gotta get my tesco clubcard points
A gas station trip is 4 minutes and a swipe of the credit card.
Total average is 7.68 L/100 km.
I haven't used actual bills to pay for gas in... okay 2 years.
for some reason german gas stations tend to not have the credit card option
I used money in Japan. It was easier.
I just press some buttons on my phone and it unlocks the pump.
And then it's paid for and all.
Average on my parents C320 is about... maybe 13L?
Mercedes states the engine/car with 4L
just put your card into the machine here
What are those funny words you used there?
i get 5.88l / 100km in my ecobox
Work truck gets like 27 L/100 km.
The most useless feature in cars: Ecomode
dunno, I like em.
my car is stuck in eco mode
Truck as Eco and Power mode. But it's generally just how it holds the gears.
i used to drive my parents c200d and it actually got 4.5 in ecomode when I wanted it too... but with my usual driving style, 8.5
I tried ecomode in my eUP...
it just turns of the climate control, reduces engine performance & max speed..
So... in essence just a speed limiter.
Eco: 120kph
Eco+: 90kph
my car has little confuserisation
that's the point.
Thats nothing someone couldnt do themselves when they want to save up fuel/power.
Shut down climate, accelerate slower and drive slower.
someone i knows selling a hyundai stellar but id feel bad owning a actual classic
£1k though
Limiting HVAC and acceleration is not something everyone knows how to do.
Tru.
I like that Hyundai's and Kia's often have a driver only setting
So just pressing a button to get more range is something people might appreciate.
Thats just sad...
Almost as sad as the women which tried fueling a Tesla Model S up on a gasoline station.
Rental?
Not everyone is good with cars.
back to the topic of driving license... tho I sometimes also wonder how stupid some people can be even after receiving all that education
shame they arent more loved despite how rare they are here.
I have the G923
anyone like the old audies or mercedes ?
The 1995 Toyota gang has begun
anyone got any good reccomendations for a manual car that has a hatchback with a sporty feel
I have come up with the Volkswagen golf gti as best option
You’ve just described a textbook definition of a Golf Gti so I think that’s your answer
Lmao
Or a used focus rs
Maybe a civic type R but you either love or hate that car
Or a Toyota GR Yaris, they look nice
used focus RS please
speed 3
I doubt you could engine swap anything into a Previa tbh. The frame/chassis/drivetrain is designed specifically for the whacky uniqueness of what it is. Why it exists? We will never know. But I sure am glad it exists. Its the most based family car Toyota's ever made, followed closely by the Corolla
fuckin 2.4L inline 4 that consumes 6.2 quarts of oil
its impressive how large the capacity is for how small the motor is
I also like in the service info:
"Supercharger Oil:
TOYOTA Supercharger Oil or equivalent"
Yes

there is a version with a v6 turbo (but maybe not this generation)
Later models were available with a V6 (used in basically every Toyota) but it didn't have a turbo
i thought there were one with turbo 🤔
I need a car
buy one
🤔
fixeth vehicular
so it needs fixethed
I would need to take a photo of my focus where the issue is
can't even find a picture of a random focus that shows that part
and IDK how it's even called
"Just gonna check my oil real quick"
Toyota has made the coolest mid engined cars.
Indeed
Idk if the Previas engine was in anything else. It's a really weird setup
I swear, there's some weird shit going on under there of a 2.4L 4 cylinder needs 6L of oil
Btw. Mid-engined Corolla-powered = Lotus.
Why are Europeans convinced that Golf GTI's are the best cars ever?
Because it's a well rounded car. That can do most of what you ask of it.
Except be reliable
But Lotus isn't owned by Toyota, right?
So even if it's got a Toyota power plant, it's just not the same
Aye. But still a Corolla engine.
MR-2 did it better imo. But ye
Lexus is 👌
I have a friend that I've been trying to buy an MR2 off of for several years.
Lol
It's literally been sitting for ten years, and has bad brake lines.
Oof
I offered $2k, and they say that it's worth waaay more than that.
And that they will get around to fixing it.
What year?
Yeah I think so.
It's been sitting for ten years.
Still, it's a rare model. If it's fine other than surface rust and brake lines, it's worth more than $2k
Ah, in that case it's probably worth $2k as it is
I wanted it so I could swap some weird engine into.
It's sat outside in Indiana weather, engine is probably locked up.
Oh, f
The reason why the brake lines never got replaced was because the bolts were so rusted that they couldn't get them loose without rocking the whole car on the jackstands.
I don't think it's even worth $2k
He swears it's worth a whole lot.
He told me at least $8k
🤔 🤔 🤔
No.
Have to flex with the mr2 talk
thats one stubby jack
