Well... Mercedes and BMW aside.
I prefer hard aggressive angles
i mean if you look at the 2019 ford taurus ist still rounded as hell it just has more pronounced divots
One of the coolest fords ever made in my opinion
Ford isn't a great example tbh. Their current Taurus is last decade styling.
I wouldn't say rounded anything anymore. The new Corolla is pretty snazzy all things considered.
I do own a 2014 ford focus aswell, its an alright car. Nothing to special really, but the looks aint that bad.
Titanium Sport edition so makes it look a little better
gotta have more dive planes on suburban vehicles cause reasons
more scoops and naca ducts
I don't mind that
Angles and aggressive lines are the way to go.
And no superfluous ducts/vents/slashes.
but when I go get my groceries I expect my Toyota Camri to go 140mph both ways
It needs the schoops

Why is Auto's so popular in the US?
Convenience.
In Europe its mandatory that you learn to drive with a manual for your driving test.
I dont really get how its that convenient. I mean sure it removes an element of driving, but its not like manual is hard.
And its way more expensive if it fails.
Usually anyway
America is the land of 1000 mile journeys, traffic jams, and eating on the go.
Also modern automatics are smoother, just as reliable, and much better on gas.
I mean if you're travelling 1000 miles I'm sure like 90% of that will be on the highway where you dont shift a lot anyway.
shit thats like....here to california every summer
actually take that back as soon as you get close to california the traffic starts even on the highway
Automatics are 100% more convenient.
Then you downshift a couple of times then upshift again, big deal
Not that easy.
Cause traffic isn't going fast enough to do the couple of times.
You're feathering your clutch for an hour or so.
Maybe you'll get into second.
you gotta be out in the dakotas
I am now.
You're making it into a problem which it isnt tho, how can we drive effectively here in Europe then? Where most people are on manuals
I don't see what the issue is with automatics?
I agree an auto is a lot more comfortable if you have to deal with traffic jams daily tho
Europe has some pretty decent stretches of road though
They're easier, more convenient, and better on gas.
its not all dense city
Very few people care about "driving pleasure."
Europe goes for manuals because they're cheap.
That is true
Cars are expensive enough as it stands.
in the US as soon as you hit a big city like vegas or LA, especially LA shit just stops
In the US. You're spending northing of 40 grand anyway. Why go for a less convenient option?
Yeah I can imagine that, I've never been to the US
I remember being in traffic off the highway and into LA for like 2 hours
Forget Vegas. Think Chicago or Atlanta.
hell naw
And once you hit the open roads. An automatic transmission will be better on gas.
and forget about their spaghetti bowls as well
I would never rent a car if I went to the US
they don't make anything faster just more jammed up
I've seen to many vids on random police pullovers where they get aggressive and as a foreigner you do one wrong move and they pull on you.
If you aren't breaking the law, they won't pull you over.
You don't like people here constantly renting dodge chargers?
the 2018's
they're pretty cosey on the interior
It's not like they're V8s.
@dense shard Breaking traffic law in a foreign country could be done unintentionally tho, missunderstand signs, different traffic habits / laws etc.
Read up on it, and you'll be fine.
@dense shard true
Yeah true I would, if I was to go there and drive.
I drove in Japan for a few years. No issues outside of a few traffic habits thing.
Turns out people ignore speeding cameras there.
Sometimes.
they do the same thing in south korea
cause they just automate their tickets
for whatever reason we haven't implimented that here
but they got plenty of ticket cameras in south korea
but people ignore it and just speed anyway
Thanks for the chat folks, ima head off. 4:11AM here now.
Automated cameras should be banned.
They don't make for safer roads, local governments don't get more money, and private information isn't protected.
local government surprised to get bill from private company that runs speed cameras
lol
You can't face your accuser in court or anything
Lol
I broke the fitting to my headlight washer t and dumped like a gallon of washer solvent on the floor earlier
oof
Headlight washer will remain a novelty in the US.
despite the fact that we could probably use em.
uh no it has real launch control
throw the dsg into s
take off trac control
hold the brake and put the gas to 3000-3400 revs
hold for 3 secs and then woosh
I redlined a geo for so long without much coolant today
It was really steamy
Also I am in the US
I got the geo tracker
those are good
It is rwd with a transfer case so I can also do 4wd and 4L
This one used to be a manual but has an automatic now
Geos are cute.
its the exact same one
rusty is an understatement
just needs some minor welding
this what one of my ex friends is driving
idk how does he pass inspection with a car like this
here that things a light year away from a pass
Wanted a welding project but actually want to be able to insure and drive it when i finally finish it

They aren't bad at all.
Fortune Island
hello
which is...

The USA is used to produce worlds best cars back in '50s and '60s. Now, if you look at the American car companies, not only they don’t have any significant portion of the foreign market, they can’t even dominate in their domestic market. So why do American car companies are failing so miserably?
Help me to do this full-time: https://www.patreon....
The wipers stop on the windshield when it's cold
If Americans vehicles are so good. Why aren't they dominating all markets?
GM, FCA, Ford only account for something like 45% of the US market.
Everywhere else it is much, much worse.
Btw. Their market share in USA is shrinking.
Easy answer. In the 50s and 60s, American automakers had no real competition. Toyota, Honda, Nissan either didn't exist, were still making motorcycles, or had just started selling in their home markets.
The Koreans were literally rebuilding from smoldering rubble.
VW had maybe two cars in their lineup.
Dominance of a market doesn't make your products good.
American automakers are mainly looking at short term profits.
I'm not entirely sure I agree with that anymore.
I don't think they're doing a great job preparing for the future, but the entire industry is shifting towards crossovers.
Why invest in a marketshare that's shrinking rapidly... especially if your company has struggled there in the past?
Fact remains that Americans love their big stuff. SUVs and trucks are the main sellers right now, and the big three are 100% investing properly into those markets.
okay, this video is... pulling facts out of their ass.
GM has a 13% market share in China. Second only to VW. I wouldn't say Europe has runaway from the US in the biggest automarket in the world.
And saying the "Europeans dominate the US market" is disingenuous at best.
In order from biggest in 2019: GM, Ford, Toyota, FCA, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Subaru is below 5%.
VW at 3.8%. Daimler and BMW have 2%, then Mazda and Tesla make up the rest.
The Europeans in total make up maybe 10%... and those brands very very notably exclude Peugeot, Renault, and Citroen.
Also more to the point. VW has spent the last 30 years in the US trying to actually make a splash. They've failed on every account. They never gained the traction they have elsewhere. Question is why and how.
This video has a lot just... it feels as if he's bashing American makers for the sake of it. "American automakers failed to adapt to foreign markets."
Great... if you ignore Ford of Europe who still produce the Focus and Fiesta? And the flags in the video... Japan and India? Both of those markets are wildly native focused... no one has broken into Japan, and India is even worse. Suzuki absolutely dominates that market. 50% marketshare last I checked.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
Why does BMW owners have lice se to blind people
police hate when you have fog lights on here with little to no fog
literal criminal scum if you do
Fog lights in a clear situation are about as appropriate as high beams in high traffic?
yeah im not saying the police are wrong
Meh fog lights don't blind as much as high beams
just funny how hard they go after people that do it
But I agree with the popo, don't use them unless it's foggy
Considering buying a Focus ST as a lil fun/project car. For no more expensive than they are, seems like a solid choice.
there's no reason not to have your fog lights on during the day. it's for increased visibility
DRL runs all the time too
The only time I see fog lights being a problem are on those big ass for no reason trucks where they are eye level.
days here are pretty dark so can be brutal
well trucks.... that's a whole different level
even brake lights get to me after a while
i think truck owners are just on the road to blind other people.... most people don't even use them for their intended purpose
around here anyway
Yeah, people here will lift their trucks to the moon and put goofy wheels on them, to never even be off road. I think its some kind of complex or something.
But I digress.
Those colors though
anyone with a lifted truck should be sent to wales
Oddly specific
I found this on YouTube
I'm trying to get some TFSI A4 audio
Audi*
Like 2008-2012. Cert preowned or idk
Well it's a bit too old for that
Anyone have any experience with those? What mileage should I avoid; which year should I avoid like the plague, etc?
I hear the 2001 and earlier are good but I ain't trying to go grandpop style
haha
(Insurance, etc)
Avoid em all, imo.
Older VWs aren't known to be reliable, durable, or cheap to repair.
Some people swear by em, some people hate em.
if you guys see a guy with a 2020 Mercedes Benz please take the time out of you day to spit on him
why
Is it just me, or does it seem like the dude in the BMW is always the asshole on the road?
That is true
For me it just seems like every 4th driver
Although the odds do increase for either an SUV owner or a exec saloon
hh
Nah, it's always the person in a prius
They either go 5 below the speed limit or 25 above. Never use turn signals, always have a sticker on their car.
Idk, I see far more headasses in BMWs
Theres some kind of stigma with cars like that. People seem to think because they're a little more expensive, they're better than others on the road. When in reality, my truck costs just as much as that M3, if not more. And its still stock and nothing crazy.
Was in car while an aggressive base 3 series pushed up behind us
Was tailgating us for a bit then saw the badge on the back of the car
Immediately backed off
Usually when someone tailgates me I just take my foot off the accelerator and coast for a bit, then they try to pass and I just pull away. Petty, I know, but it sure feels good. Especially since im usually going 5-10 over the limit anyway.
I don't fit this description at all lol
My car is free from stickers, at least for now, and I drive at or around 4-5 over the limit
And I always use turn signals
I always see BMWs, Mercedes, and Nissans being driven by asshats. With a vast majority of SUVs and the afornentioned cars never using turn signals
Then performance cars usually get driven by asshats too. Lane weaving and/or speeding excessively, and ofc not using turn signals
I have a "performance" car, but I dont drive like that unless I'm alone on the road.
I can have my fun away from people for the most part
Jeeps and trucks (mainly modified trucks) are also bad. They like to cut people off and speed
I also have a truck lmao, but its not modified at all
Yea
I just chill while driving. I hover around the speed limit bc I like to drive efficiently to save on gas. And I always use signals and try to merge/change lanes to make way for faster traffic
I have my fun accelerating from stops up to the speed limit. Beyond that, I just save it for closed courses
My truck is a diesel, so I dont save on fuel at all. My BRZ does alright on fuel. A little better after the turbo add on. Even if I drive the car harder now lol
Lol
My RX-7 does pretty crap on gas even when i try to be efficient lol
At least it gets low-mid 20s
The Corolla gets low 30s, and the Prius is high 40s
I've got a nice balance lel
I think I average like 15-18 on the high end in my truck. and like 24-26 in my car.
I could squeeze more out of the car, but I like having fun too much
I can't imagine getting that poor of economy on the regular
I still cringe when I think about the times when the RX-7 was averaging 13
Well my truck weighs probably close to 7000lbs, so its not surprising.
i dont know what i get in my car but i dont think its much
lemmie estimate
about 22
supposed to get double that wtf
i get 40 UK mpg driving like a clown
33.3 us
not actually had any issues with BMW's. Had issues with vauxhall insignia's, passats, golfs and general suvs. oh and range rovers
i get 14 in mine
what u driving?
An 80s death trap
a 60s death trap
i must be calculating wrong or something there's no way
Id of gone down the route of a classic as my first car but insurance was like lol no.
it was 100% motorway so its supposed to get about 50
yeah same
although i'd probably only choose one i have a chance of surviving a crash in
i saw an xjs a while back but ofc insurer aint gonna exactly like the idea of a 3.6l v12
damn man when that overdrive kicks in
£6k/y for me to insure
there's so many reasonable affordable to buy sports cars from pre 2000s that are really cool
but then that insurance hits
S2000's are pennies to insure if you can get one heh
oh wow yeah they cost a fair bit now
only like £600/y to insure and im young
im sold
just gotta get one
pray that the used car gods are kind
i considered a smart roadster for a while there
yeah and i only kinda recently saw one irl
makes the mini look gigantic
i'd consider one as a kind of track toy thing
probably be better of with a mx5 parts wise imo
thinking of buying a rotten NB once im decent enough of sheet metal welding
should get a bentley as a track day car
id go to knockhill but its quite expensive, here is pennies but the track is tiny. https://youtu.be/6lq94f-ta-0
my dad has one
he bought it for $10
good shape too
runs perfectly
the government rot gods dont treat cars well here
it was kept in storage for a long time though...
it wasnt running until my dad wacked the fuel pump with a broom stick once
wow that is quite a narrow one
still like 5C and its the attack of the salty gritters already.
wouldnt want to do that track with my main car due to how little run off there is
i can see me misjudging a corner dipping my wheel onto the grass and meeting the tyrewall
interesting to seee how its assembled
The more I look at it, the more I wouldn't mind an automatic Mazda 3.
Me and a couple of friends are looking to build something to put through the MVSA Heavy Quadricycle approval. Honestly I think its going to be easier to get it approved than it will to get insurance for it. I might try call a few places later but i am expecting alot of wot.
Essentially allows us to build a car up to 20hp with a max speed of 56hp and max weight of like 400kg
A proper car approval is much more involved but probably easier to get insurance for :^|

Hmm rs2 is a neat car
But it always makes me wonder what an rs version of the a2 would have been 🤔
As I thought, the RS2 was never sold in NA.

Golfs are kinda meh
I've heard golf's are pretty good. I don't own one and can't say anything, but my friend got two of them and enjoyed them quite a lot.

electric shooting brake
Mark says it right.
6 years ahead in tech, 6 years behind in being a car.
A disposable car.
I don't think Tesla's are that bad tbh. Considering that Tesla is such a new company and caused such a stir in the market is a pretty awesome accomplishment in of itself. Definitely pretty far ahead on technology, but I wouldn't say 6 years behind in being a car. If it were that bad as a car, no one would own a Tesla. (Except for the extremists who want to change to full EV asap, but that is besides the point.)
(Bad = Cars 6 years ago. Not that they are actually bad. I just didn't know of a better way to put it.)
Cars in terms of driving honestly haven't changed that much in 6 years
Drive a 2014 audi A4 and a 2020 audi A4 and they feel essentially the same
In that case Tesla's build quality is 6 generations behind. Problem is that everyone buying Teslas have been the gung ho extremists.
And new company or not, their QC issues shouldn't exist. They have over 100 years of manufacturing experience to draw on. 5 years or 50 years. Bumpers shouldn't fall off, and Tesla sure as fuck shouldn't be blaming the drivers for issues. Especially when it comes to say... FSD.
Lololol so true
Anyone here watching F1?
Also while I'm still on a roll.
If Tesla wants to shill the "but we're actually a tech angle"
That honestly brings back the QC double. Apple, Samsung, Sony do not have quality control issues by and large... also of of these companies have been caught fudging benchmarks, crippling phones with updates, and have fairly limited lifetime support.
Looking at the early Model S? That has already been proven when owners were forced to buy upgrade hardware out of pocket to allow for future updates.
Tesla as an auto company falls short of automotive company standards.
Tesla as a tech company falls short on quality and has the same potential issues as a tech company.
Either way... Tesla needs to step it up. They've been around for nearly 20 years now. They aren't a start up.
This was the stock version of my car
I've done so much more to it,
Chrome Delete, new rims, new entertainment screen (making it bigger), new Steering wheel and new headlights
Also, the plate isn't in use anymore so gl finding me 👍
Honestly regarding tesla as company i wonder how their solar stuff is doing
Im more interested in their solar stuff than their cars
Their solar stuff is great for dragging prices down.
It's less great for some of the behind the scenes stuff.
Personally not a fan of the always on internet thing.... ugh not like everything else isn't IoT already.
So I don't think I can rag on them for that. Otherwise they've had some installation oops and other Tesla™️ grade bullshit.
What do you mean by build quality exactly? I mean, the only thing that I notice that's bad about Tesla's build quality that I don't typically see in other brands is the extreme panel gap, misaligned trim, and occasional paint defects. The actual quality of the screens, trim (besides alignment), seats, etc. seem fine.
Sure, you have the occasional faulty battery and other stuff, but major failures can happen to other car manufactures, not only Tesla. I remember my mother buying a new Hyundai and the automatic transmission broke within the first week.
Now Tesla blaming people for issues is fair in certain aspects. Plenty of people out there don't keep their hands on the wheel when using autopilot, and a lot of people have tried to sue Tesla for being stupid because they hit the "gas" pedal instead of the brake and crashed into a wall. Now when it's actually the cars fault, then it's Tesla's fault, but that seems quite rare actually. At least they aren't like Ford with the Pinto where if you get rear ended it explodes. Lol
Tesla solar is cool though. I don't do too much research in that department though so I cannot say much there.
Let me address these points in order... tho the Savage Geese review does actually hit up on the points very well.
Telsa's own building of the cars has quite a few faults such as missing screws, tabs, and the such. It happens in other automakers, but Toyota produces magnitudes more. But panel gaps and misaligned trim is something legacy automakers have figured out in their base offerings in the 80s. I shouldn't have to expect any build quality issues in a car that starts at 40k. This isn't an issue at that price point anywhere else.
The screens have actually have been an issue in the Model S and X. Both have leaky screens it seems that eventually require replacing. This is ignoring the memory issues that require a few grand to fix. This isn't a if issue, but when. And because Teslas put so much functionality into the screens, this becomes a safety issue in many cases.
Seats and what have you do seem fine, and the style is subjective. Some people like minimalism, some hate it.
The Tesla blaming people for issues goes beyond autopilot, tho Tesla's own marketing team hasn't been great. If people hear autopilot, they'll expect autopilot. Tesla's very own branding is misleading. Don't blame the user for your own promises. Don't blame the user for their faults either. Especially without an investigation, and sure as fuck don't blame the dead. it's a bad look.
They are pulling a Ford/Pinto right now with the dying media units and refusing to recall cars due to rust. Mind you Ford didn't really blame users on that. They accepted fault, and let the bean counters dictate not fixing it as being cheaper. The PR fallout remains with Ford to this very day. I wonder if the person who cleared the non-fix feels like they made a mistake.
Tesla tried to blame Chinese drivers for being abusive to their cars. Once again... a no no. Don't blame a local market for your inability to build a car. Especially when other makers haven't experienced this issue.
Same goes for Canada. Drivers were experiencing catastrophic paint failure on the lower panels after just a few months of winter driving. That's NOT normal, and you should do more than offer a couple of mudflaps. That's insulting.
The china thing btw? Is actively being investigated by the NHTSA right now. (And I have other salt to sow on other automakers, but that actually goes very solidly into politics, so I'm not gonna touch that here. lol)
I also abuse my car in a way that the roof seperates itself form the the body
Tesla states everywhere that autopilot is an assistant, and when using autopilot, you are to keep your hands on the wheel and to be attentive to your surroundings. That's why I think it's the user's fault when someone gets into a crash, unless the actual autopilot itself or the car caused the problem. Their marketing team definitely isn't great though. But their failing MCU and Rust problem is no where near as bad as causing a car to explode when in a rear-end collision. Funnier part is, is that Ford decided to just pay for the hospital bills rather than the recall to fix the problem at first. Also, coming from someone who lived in China for over four years, I partially agree with Tesla in that aspect, they are fucking wild there. Lol
True, it is such an old case.
Tesla's issues are now. And once again. Blaming the user is literally customer service 101 no no.
But manufactures, if not restricted by government regulations, would probably still do that type of thing.
Automakers don't anymore. Since the Toyota fiasco in the late 00s, all automakers have been very proactive in doing recalls.
The Takata thing is ongoing even today.
The autopilot thing is debatable either way, but using untrained drivers to beta test a system is just... wtf
Shush
What Tesla should do: make sell powertrains for other car companies to incorporate
Their drivetrains are good, the car around it not so much
(Just my 2 cents)
Yes, Tesla has been saying drivers should keep their hands on the wheel. I'll grant them that much. Tho the failsafes that should prevent that aren't great. GM apparently uses sensors in the steering wheel itself instead of just a torque sensor.
why
Stfu
Faiz, chill.
Tesla needs to be held accountable like everyone else.
Stop waffling about cars
Ford got slapped so hard they're still reeling from the Pinto thing.
xQc is cool and all, but no need to be toxic chief.
It's not a new Ford? It's a Pinto from 50 years ago.
Or the new engine cc manufatuer 8213

Except the fact that the F150 remains the best selling truck in the US?
Yh the 2897ds
And remains THE benchmark to surpass for everyone?
That new engine is sick
What do you think this channel is about?
Im not sure
But no one cares about the new cc plate 287680 engine triple mph
Waffle
Thought this was funny.
I feel that Tesla has a ways to go before it becomes the threat it thinks it is.
Yh yh tesla is shit rn
uhhhh, I wouldn't call it shit.
But there will come a point at which hype will no longer be viable.
...
I mean, it's not that Tesla thinks it's a threat to other brands. I definitely don't think it is. But they definitely have increased the whole push to EV's. And according to Elon, that's what the brand is supposed to mean. Elon even said that he wants EV competition because it means that it brings further progress to the switch of a world that uses renewable energy. Though, that could just be a scheme to make Tesla seem like a good company. :/
I agree with everything you just said.
Apart from the Tesla thinking it's not a threat.
... well... maybe they do think that?... but I've gotten mixed messages on that.
Also, I'm not sure what Elon exactly meant by patents, but he claimed that the patents to a lot of Tesla's work is open.
They're available to use, but I bet you a cookie there are ropes attached.
Yeah idk tbh. I think wanting to bring change might make you need to be a threat... Idk..
Fun fact: Tesla sales dropped by 85% in my country this year
If Tesla wants to be a force of good in EV adoption, they shouldn't have used a stupid proprietary charging standard.
European EV adoption is good because there is a single universal charging standard for everyone right now.
Yeah I agree with that tbh.
In Europe Tesla uses CCS
tbh... Telsa would only need to adopt CCS for my opinion of them to improve by like... a lot.
CCS is one of the 3 dominant charging standards in the West.
Omg no way
4 in the world.
...
I could take your trolling seriously, but I doubt anyone here doesn't know why a universal plug standard is a good thing.
Having a universal charging standard would be pretty awesome. Especially if they made all of their Tesla charging stations use the standard and allowed other EV's to charge there.
Imagine every car brand having a different gas filler shape
I try not to MK.
Imagine how crazy gas station pumps would be. Lmao
Ah you have a Toyota? Here, use this star-shaped charger 🌟
Lol
errrr
Loooool
Toyota still uses chademo.
Like... Toyota is part of the problem.
Wait a minute, gotta find the star shaped pump. I got confused with the triangle-shaped pump.
Chademo isn't bad... in a few cases better than CCS.
It's just the standard that lost out.
ChaDeMo is basically only a thing in Japan
It's being phased out in Europe and the US.
Toyota is sick relax urslefs
They're selling the UX 300e with ChaDeMo in Europe, so it's sales are basically 0 because the infrastructure isn't there
The UX EV sounded nice until I found out it's ChaDeMo... which doesn't really matter since it's not coming to the US.
Allowed or not. Even Nissan has moved to CCS.
Yeah
Unexpected, but a nice development.
Although Nissan is still using air cooled batteries so I wouldn't get one
Air cooling would be fine if it was active.
Hell, the Leaf's steering wheel is only height adjustable, so that's a definite no-go
Passive... not so much.
oh lol. Adjustment for reach should be standard.
Thankfully my 'roll has reach and height.
It's height adjustable throughout the entire range
Agreed
Even the most shittest shitboxes have height and reach nowadays
The Leaf is the only car I know sold new which doesn't have it
Mind you the Leaf is a decade old platform.
... they should have updated it for the refresh.
Should've been standard in 2010 even
I wouldn't mind an EV, but it's just not feasible here. Even a Tesla wouldn't work.
Well I'd need a realistic 300+km (185 miles) range so it would work for me, but that's just unaffordable for now for me
Also, gas engine go brrr
I'd either need 500 miles or more chargers.

The American plains are empty af
Yeah sure for some parts of thr US definitely
Maybe in a decade.
I would kinda need 200 km's of real life use.
I have zero reason to believe that CCS will have any availability here in the next 20 years.
Or at least 150 km's.
I'm still at 1 car garage in my life.
Same.
Imagine having a garage
I'm paying extra for one.
We have a garage spot. But it's a big, shared garage.
No outlet that is rated for EV charging.
We have Fastned chargers + Ionity, it's usable nowadays as long as you can charge at home
Unheated garage is alright.
Built over 60 years ago. Probably.
It'll be nice once it hits 10 below.... Fahrenheit.
Fahrenheit 👀
I'd need to be able to charge at home before I can daily an EV.
yeah I don't think the complex would appreciate me charging my car.
Same.
... don't tell them.

The outlets we have in the garage is for engine heating. Mostly.
If it's a rental complex/public place you can request a car charger, but that will be public and be usable for more people
Can you smell this 💩
I can smell pizza
OOF
They just use scooters here
Although "here" it isn't a thing as we live in a smaller remote village
I am ricer
Hi ricer, I'm MK
Hello
That's like a 5 year supply for us
Clean time
6-cyl manual BMW :PogWant:
Just in time for the rain
Should lower the X5
Love this boy
I named it Franklin, and he is a frankenstein and was one from the factory as what we can tell. Has a whole load of M parts, a huge modified to race inline straight-six, and has closing in on 300hp with the existing mods and a whole lot of torque. Short shifter and cold air intake, as well as slightly lowered suspension and staggered wheels
👀
ig ones a donor car
Oh yeah, didn't realize that. That'd make sense.
what's the best BMW car to buy on a $5k budget??
I guess an E46?
You might be able to get an E90 for that money as well. @lilac loom
I bought my E46 320i for about $6,000 over five years ago.
But then again. Bought it at an ideal time, kinda.
Had just over 70,000 km's on it when I bought it.
yoo nice MR2!! with dat 4AGE 😁😁
I'd just look around in the $6,000 area and see if I can get something around there.
With reasonable miles.
Gotta fix another ground point on my car. Left rear is having some issues.
Oh welp. Should be an easy fix.
I bought both MR2s for 1000$ total, white one rusty as heck, silver no title automatic. Swapping everything into the silver one
And it's engine had a blown head gasket and a broken ringland lmao, but that engines mint
I'd avoid any turbo BMW for under 5k. E46s are getting fairly cheap right now. E92 is getting there I imagine.
My thoughts as well.
Huh. You can get some pretty decent BMW's for around the $5,000 price mark.
2005 BMW 325Ci Coupe for $4,825
117k miles
There's even a 2011 328i being sold for $5,500, and only 71k miles
Today i saw a old van with white AMG wheels and a big gym guy getting out of a fiat 500 i dont mean to be carsist buut
Anyone about to watch F1?
On BMWs you should factor in at least a 1-2k delta on top of the purchasing cost
you will have to replace parts that the previous owner has neglected
Aye. And for future stuff in general.
Old cars age. So stuff just wear down over time.
Lower front bushings is something that goes bad quickly on E46's.
meanwhile the civic churns on
Fix those headlights.
bruh they are like slightly fogged
You can use toothpaste or whatever to remove the foggyness.
will probably become a endless cycle unless your clearcoat them
Yeah without a new clearcoat it's useless
I'll just get a new set of lenses for my car.
not too bothered on a car that is worth £300 reaching eol
Use fine grit sandpaper and rubbing compound
dat camaro tho
Auto hot wheels package
Both of mine are cracked so I'll either replace them or sell the car
i riced my car:D better headlights tho
How 2 access mid engine fuel lines
Step 1: remove engine
Step 2: have a nice sit down

This filler hose is the worst thing on earth I have no idea how I got this on last time
oof
Seeing a Mazda makes me miss my RX-8 😫
Where is the jubilee clip?
The what
Oh a hose clamp
Nah
It's already on its not coming off
And I'm not taking it off
It's the stiffest most garbage 30 year old rubber there is and the only thing that goes through it is gas when you fill the tank, it'll be fine
Nice wheels
thank you
are those off of a late 2000's pontiac?
Pontiabuwu
Im a simple man, I see outback I like
I'd love something awd
Be missing having a complete mr2 😒

The Jaguar XJ220 was the fastest car in the world, for a brief period in 1992, before the McLaren F1!
Kinda want new rims for the car. But don't really want to move away from 16 inchers.
for a bit i thought that mr2 picture was on a road, man those parking spaces are wiide.
😮
Nice speedometer
I'm thinking my fog lights are aimed too low. Can barely tell they're on from the driver's seat...
I did install them just last night, so it's entirely possible they are
xD
New car
yes it's dirty and all
But I have a lot of little project to make it looks and drive better (first clean it, change the wheels for better one in 15", paint black parts in blue, fix the right door, change the spoiler, add a lip to the rear bumper, change the grilln etc)
Idk, personally, I think having black trim pieces adds flavor. Having everything the same color looks bland
That's a good little car.
@warm sparrow you sold the 208?
No back part are really not good
Or just the low parts (bumper, sides) but with paint on it not just raw ugly plastic
the worst is the license plate thing
the 208 is on sale
https://youtu.be/VRYTEFT8UYY Doug likes the design, I don't. It looks like a offroad ford flex, and the ford flex always looked like a hearse to me.

The Ford Bronco Sport is a new compact SUV -- and a very highly anticipated one. Today I'm reviewing the Bronco Sport, and I'll review all the quirks and features of the Ford Bronco Sport. I'm also going to drive the new 2021 Ford Bronco Sport and tell you what it's like behind the wheel.
FORD SYN...
yay
mostly because of that back window it looks like a ford flex
my focus rear suspention is knocking
Car
that means it's gonna to be expensive to fix
since the rear suspention seems to cost more then the engine
I hope those are bishings
but IDK if I can do that at my own
...you have a focus?
yeah
that made me sad
but beside the starter welding to it self nothing in the engine broke
except I need to change the valves
wtf 3.5k ?
3.5 k waht?
USD
yhea
you could buy 3 of my focuses that I have
but in all fairness i do have 110-105k miles on it...
2 Civic EK3
I have 300k km
the engine is kind of loud and the rear suspention is knocking
how old is it?
2004
ah
it was company car
ok
and I'm a 5th owner
no wait
I have sequential LPG instalation
so that isn't the problem
I need to adjust the valves then
or how it's called
how focus rear suspension cost more than a focus
Bushings I need for my car is like $50 for the pair.
I forgot what I paid for my springs and shocks that I replaced a few months ago.
I really need them but we'll see the back is so clunky and noisy
Let me check what I paid for my stuff.
I paid $750 for my springs and shocks.
Eibach springs, Bilstein shocks.
£20 for a rear spring, £20 for a rear shock on my ecobox
Nice and cheap
mazda 2 rear suspension is caveman technology though
Ooo you have a 2?
Ive always felt superior to 2s in my 3 but now I know it to be true lmao
they are really nippy
I toss my 3 like it's a miata lmao
the engines in the previous gen which i have are pretty much bulletproof for atleast 130k miles zero maintenance
no belts or anything
I have a 2.3 and I'm just waiting for it to eat itself
The rear springs on my car were also broken. Half a turn had rusted away.
i had to get a 1.3 so insurance company would like me
Good olll europe
problem with mine is when the half a turn goes it slips out of its seat and knocks into everything
I don't think 2.3 is even an option unless it's an mps there
Ow
I'm pretty sure my mr2s have original struts
can see a bit of a oil leak from the corrosion defense system
Oh of course
bit late on the deployment cause the subframes going extra crusty
Oil IS corrosion prevention
lol
that springs broken twice now so it has a lean
Thank god I have florida car lmao
dreading doing it because the bolts are most certainly one with the strut
if you sharp turn to the right then left all manner of horrible noises happen
I bought my 3 with 4 blown shocks, unbalanced wheels, mismatched tires, all blown bushings, no ball joints, and bad axles
we dont have much shit that fucked thanks to our MOT
our civics last mot
had more issues but ofcourse we only fix what it needs to pass
I do not look forward to inspections and I will not do them for as long as possible
we had one fail because the washer didnt spray a adequate amount of fluid
Wtf lmao
who tf sittin there with a measuring jug
I put the soapy water from a car wash in mine
And now it fires over the windshield and past both my mirrors
tanks too small on mine for how dirty the roads are
rear wiper washer is positioned in such a way that 90% of the fluid misses the wiper
MOT's are good though cause if someones selling a car you can just put the plate it and get a decent idea of how its kept
Ny has inspections but their not that intense
can look at anyones here by just typing in the plate
I wanna drive my shitbox in peace don't look at it
I'm gonna get my mr2 inspected for the lols
the big killer here is arch / sill rust
Basically doesn't happen in florida
once a car gets to 20 years old here its pretty much 100% pancake time
off to be turned into tin cans
Sad
theres people who have classics that dont fully restore them, just means they have to do welding every year
classic shitboxes like old ladas, peugoet 305s etc
my 10 year old mazda 2 has a big spot in the middle
i dont think the lackluster undercoating was meant for gravel roads
0 anywhere on my 3
There's exposed sheet steel from paint flakes and a scrape and it's not rusty
theres bits underneath where theres no undercoating it seems
at the end of the day it is a disposable car so
wish they made a speed 2 when they had that ford money
I have never heard of that lmao I wanna see
doesent exist really
id have to fabricate everything really
nothing really exists engine performance wise for the mazda 2
I'm not getting ny registration until I have a better understanding of what passes and doesn't for NYS
also in the UK you have to declare everything to insurance and it costs alot
cause I definitely wanna swap my mr2
Mornings are the best
Im looking to get a E36 318i to somewhat restore
Id love to go for a E39 but insurance is not ver nice.
Fun times
I don't ever really see myself in something german
Ah with the factory hood intake I see
its just built different
funny, the hood is like that because the latch wasnt properly hooked up
can see here
are those front merc wheels?
yeah
Am I allowed to post motorcycle pics in here? haha
yes
ooooo sweet
She ain't alright.
Wiper fluid is a major defect but a cracked windshield isn't???
If its a chip its not necessary to fix but if there is a leak or not enough wiper fluid it can be dangerous
Imagine being on a highway and a truck splashes mud on your windshield and you have nothing to clean it with
@ember dove
Your wipers lmao
You've never been offroading
Yes, yes I have
And I can quarantee that its in tougher places than you because I drive a 6x6 sisu sa-240 in the finnish army and it barely gets to some places I need to go to
Maybe my wipers are extra good idk but i still hate inspections
And it is MUCH more capable than any off road car on the market
yeah i need my washers alot here
Does it ever not rain in the UK?
yeah just random short showers happen alot so our roads always look damp
atleast up here in Scortland
I love washing the truck after driving in like 70cm of muddy goodness...
Not many trucks that wont get stuck there
my dad offroads a 2009 hyundai i30
Wut
goes through copious amounts of balljoints and bushings
I offroad one of these bad boys
this is peak offroad performance
Yes
everyone he works with has suv's
i take alot of gravel roads on my mazda 2 but im too scared to even dip a wheel into the grass, i see it as quicksand.
just reverse to the passing place rather than playing a dangerous game
This thing is actually insane, like insanely deep uphill with mud in it and this thing just keeps going
Sounds abt right
