If people drove what they could ACTUALLY afford, prices would drop substantially because insurance would not be needed as people couldn't afford 50k+ cars. People would mostly drive in sub 20k cars forcing companies to produce more of these. Used market prices would also drop a lot.

Where I live, majority drive around on bikes that cost anywhere between $1k to $8k. You don't see people complaining. Cars are in the $5k to $20k range. Used market flourishes

My del Sol technically had three 10s in it. They were all different and separate boxes. lol One was this $40 'sub' + amp combo I got my sister for Christmas because she was complaining the stock system in her car had no bass. It was really only there to make her 20 year old stock system sound like a modern stock system as that's all she wanted. It made a great 'front sub' though. All the lows from the trunk and the higher bass in the cabin. I mean, I got that bandpass box for like 10 bucks on clearance in Best Buy way back in the day. Yeah that big hole you see going all the way to the outside of the panel there - there's basically a very similar one on the other side of the trunk/power rear window that is right behind the rear speaker mount. So the sound can go thru pretty easily too.
