lol
also killed a bronco at the same time 💔
it was previously tboned not once but twice
never wrecked one owner grandma owned
lol
They’re solid trucks
Dude this is literally the only thing I want to do to it 😭 Is make it slightly louder. Not insane or obnoxious just enough to hear it. Besides that all I plan to do is restore it with some paint work and either getting new seats or having them reupholstered
And yes I plan on getting another car as a project
That doesn’t mean I don’t want to do anything to my daily
Oh and also doing a new headunit and speakers I got a Sony CarPlay unit and a 12 inch sub for 160$
Also this is my first car which I bought for 2500$ with money I got from buying and selling pcs from 15 until now 17
Gotcha. Still a waste of money. Restoring a painfully forgettable 20yo econocar is unfortunately just not worth it man. Better to be happy with a running vehicle while you save for a better car. Anything you put into this now, is money better spent down the road on a better car.
I know this isn't what you want to hear, but trust me, money is a finite resource. Don't throw away pocket money now, when you could get more for it later.
Fair enough I get your point I do want to get a project car a little down the road but I’m not sure what to get either
I know this is basically another of the same thing but I test drove a Toyota solara first gen and I really like those
Or id like so get a Lexus gs430
Honda demonstrates the incredible ruggedness of the next-generation Passport TrailSport by hanging three unmodified Passports end-to-end from their stout front and rear recovery points using a 140-foot-long crane.
Now that could be a fun ride! Not the most popular Toyota/Lexus ever built, but fantastic powerplant. Lots of aftermarket support. Although thanks to the 2JZ, it never got as much attention stateside. But it's a great V8.
Yeah and they’re pretty damn fast stock I think it’s a 5.7 second 0-60
Basically a sleeper sedan at that point
Plenty of older V8 sedans floating around FB marketplace that would be very fun, very cheap projects.
Great sleeper luxury sedan options.
Yeah definitely and the UZ line of v8s definitely sound good and can handle some power
Tons. The nutjobs in Australia have slapped turbos on them and made somewhere North of like 900 HP?
Yeah I’ve seen some pretty batshit builds with them supercharged and turbod
Lexus was first introduced to the world at the Detroit Auto Show in 1989. The launch of Toyota's new luxury brand included a series of memorable commercials touting its refinement, quality and technological advancements, which helped make it a roaring success. Here we feature "Balance," one of the first in a series of ads that included "Ball Bea...
That engine family is legendary for its engineering. Making it maybe boring stock, but ripe for heavy modification.
Sometimes when you only have $3 you gotta make do.
Mod list:
Megan Racing Coilovers
Front & Rear Megan Racing Sway Bars
3rd Gen Lexus GS430 wheels (18x8) with Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+
Superpro Polyurethane Caster Arm Bushings
K&N Air Filter
Recaro SPG XL bucket seat
Muffler & Resonator Delete
H&R DRM 20mm spacers (Front)
H&R DRM 30mm spacers (...
I honestly like this 430 a little bit better but they are harder to find locally
Years don't matter. Powerplants and known issues matter. Find the platform you like, identify which years are the most reliable and/or best built, and which you like the look of, and do your research.
Figure out what everyone says about them. What kind of issues you'll have to deal with, what people are doing to make power with them, and what they're typically selling for.
Then just keep researching while you save up.
Be selective about which one you buy though. Don't just jump on a "great deal" that's suspiciously cheap.
Figure out what decent examples typically go for, and plan to spend about that.
If you find a decent deal, consider getting it inspected by a local shop before purchase. Typically shops are happy to do a "pre-purchase inspection" for you. And as long as the seller isn't trying to hide anything, they'll be fine with allowing you.
Or when buying an older car, go in expecting to rip the engine out and rebuild it, get the cheapest non-rusty, not cosmetically shit option and just rebuild it
Good option, but with him being 17, I wouldn't recommend taking on such an involved project. Better to stick with a functioning daily driver before he goes in on a rolling chassis he's going to need to pull the engine on. I doubt he's in a living situation that he's got access to an engine hoist and a ton of tools.
Being 17 I wouldn't recommend a car like this at all
Get something cheap, fuel efficient, and reliable that you won't care about crashing
It's a reliable platform, and it's a Toyota. It'll probably cost him more than he expects, but every project does. Especially your first.
Ah I see they already have the cheap, fuel efficient and reliable camry
He's already got a Lexus badged Camry.
Oh they're the ES guy
Do not waste money on any of this. Save it and spend it on a better car in a few years
Yeah I had a pre purchase done on that solara I test drove ended up having like 13 grand in repairs needed so I passed on it
Use a U-joint adapter. And/or a shallow socket + small extension.
Or a flex extension.
Ah okay thanks I’ll go to the store tomorrow and get one
Things being a huge pain I just gave up for right now 😭
That's just how projects go. Nothing ever fits the way it's supposed to. Or it's rusted shut, or the bolt sheers off, or the documentation is for the wrong model year, or you bought the wrong part, or you just can't get your hand into the right position...
It's a labor of love, but it's also just non-stop frustration.
The other stuff I did was pretty fun to be honest I did all 6 ignition coils and spark plugs had to take the whole intake manifold off to get the the rear ones
Also a shop quoted me 1200$ to do just the rear ones
And I wasn’t gonna do that
Good place to start! Honestly, as someone that's learned the hard way on a lot of shit, I highly recommend finding good easy projects to get your hands on experience. Run into a few little problems before you commit to huge projects doing a hundred things you've never done before.
Probably seems like a completely different direction from where you want to go, but small engine repair is a great way to get the basics before you're elbow deep into a 20yo V8.
Start out on little sh*t like getting and maintaining a dirt bike or small dual-sport, will give you so much more experience than thousands of hours spent trolling car forums.
A small, light, easy to access thumper (single cylinder) motorcycle is 10x simpler, easier to work on, while still having all of the same concepts as a full sized car. Same basic engine design (minus a few cylinders) same 4-stroke process, WAAAY cheaper.
If I had a garage or something I’d love to just get a cheap bike or just an engine itself to tinker with
That's the primary problem with aspirational project cars. Everyone wants a cool car, but if you don't have a garage, everything is harder and more expensive.
You tell yourself you'll do the work in the parking lot, but it's so much harder, and you eventually run into something that can't be easily done without help, a lift, power tools...
This is what happened with one of my BMW M6s
It needed work my friends and I couldn't do with our tools
Maintenance ended up too expensive for me (at the time) so I offloaded it
It was a salvage car I bought to fix up
ended up losing $4000 on it but it was fun for the brief time I had it lol
I've replaced an alternator AND starter, in the pouring rain, ducking my head under the hood while a friend tried to shield everything from the rain, while working with live wires 🤣🫨
Knowledge gain (and the stories) is worth the cost sometimes.
Oh yeah absolutely, one of my favorite cars was the shittiest one I've ever owned haha
But it gets old fast, when you're hammering on parts at 11pm in a gas station parking lot, hoping to get it to work well enough to get home.
I have great stories of it but it was a nightmare to own
Haha, same
pretty much. I don't think I will own a 90s car again after I get rid of my '92 RX-7 next week
It's been fun while it lasted but I prefer newer vehicles with their better build quality and longevity etc.
And then you see a listing for a '92 NSX...
Where I'm at now, Skylines are littered all over FB marketplace. And thanks to the 25yr limit on Japanese imports, people are paying boat loads to bring over ratted out R32s and R33s
at all
I don't fit in the driver's seat
I'm trading in the RX7 for a V10 R8, which I'm excited about since it's my first actual supercar/exotic
😂 a buddy of mine that's two inches shorter than me warned me about that when I told him I was looking at AP1 S2000s. He'd owned an AP1 and AP2 previously.
90s JDM cars can be ridiculously small
The RX-7 is uncomfortable but drivable
Trading blue for blue lol
Lol, why not go even smaller?
honda beat
MR2 Spyder
no I mean honda beat is smaller
We rebuilt a teacher's yard ornament Fiat Spider in high school auto shop. That car was so light we could pick up one side with a few bodies. Which we had to do because the shop garage was stupidly laid out.
I love that when you Google "Honda Beat", you get photos of Honda scooters mixed in. Perfectly encapsulating what class of vehicle you're looking at 😂
I wish I could've gone to a car meet while I was last in Colorado
but unfortunately I had to get my car towed 2 hours due to a flat tire

lol
I want to go to slush again that was the coolest thing I’ve ever been to
Yeah, after countless beaters and projects, I finally shelled out for my first new car in 2023. Just so I never had to worry about reliable transportation again.
And frankly, I'm having way more fun with motorcycles these days anyway.
I'm still thinking about picking up a 2016+ Audi S8 Plus for carting around fancy clients and date nights. But gas and maintenance is just too goddamned expensive out here in CA to make that my daily driver. 😂😭
That is pretty awesome. I've spent time on tracks, but not been shotgun for a drift event. 🙌
Two hours!?! WTF did THAT cost? 😂 You didn't have a can of fix-a-flat handy?
Ive had purely 80's french tat as dailys for a good while now and been recovered once so far. Beats alot of my friends with their new cars having issues, I have to drive alot for work and if I break down it will be "oh if you didnt have such a old car" so I cant break down.
Rip my week salary

Train whistle
car started like it was a 3 cylinder
nah its a super charger
Another 5 gazillion issues to your polo
Yo shit is cursed my man
I started the car and it was so rough like it was about to stall somehow
at this point vro
just sell it 😭
yo shit is cursed i stg
you be getting more issues than a french car
bro
first
you had squealing sounds
then it was anotyher shit
and now this
get a toyota instead
(shoutout to someone)
clearly they dont
any toyota issue is clearly the fault of an other worldy power
I finally opened up that back driver side door
Now I need to buy the parts for the dent repair
It’s not really a dent it’s more like a um
Crater
I haven’t broken down yet
Oh
Yes toyota super reliable!!
It doesn’t sound good or bad
I’m not sure how I feel
Ignore the naked wheel
Ooooh yah
Is this motorcycle safespace
Yes
well i’m just out of the hospital
they suspended my driving license until september due to poor health conditions
i’m not even allowed to work for a full year
if i ever get a bike
id get like a wrap like those probably
why?
i mean riding one and backpacking is different
id never want to be someones backpack
so i get that
tho gear has come a really long way, they even got airbag vests now
I hate wraps like that especially dva but ngl this one works on a bike
meh i like em
What happened
Holy peak
heart issue
Aw bummer
la oof
They go kinda hard on bikes
Interesting
What I want to do with my car.
You stop you. It's not some forgone conclusion. Yes, motorcycles have higher incidence of accidents, and higher incidence of injury, than cars. But those numbers are heavily skewed by a few major factors that can easily be greatly mitigated or avoided entirely.
LOL, that's a Ninja 250. No one's breaking laws with a bike barely capable of highway speeds.
But I get that you're more concerned with wraps than the actual vehicle.
Not to my taste, but everyone deserves their joy.
i mean i would like to get a 300, not a fan of how the 250 looks
but yeah it was just to show the wrap
No. 1) Neither the Ninja 250, 300, or 400 are being made anymore. They immediately proceeded each other and are all now replaced by the 500. And 2) Neither the 250 or 300 was really ever appropriate for North American roads. They just don't make enough power to comfortably sit at highway speeds, much less have enough leftover to pass. Which with a motorcycle, is a very important thing for the sake of defensive riding. You need to be on constant alert, always ready to quickly get yourself out of a bad position.
Which with inattentive drivers these days, means some checked out commuter that doesn't even notice they're merging right into you.
i dissagree with they don't have "enough power" there light weight and nimble as well
also i know the 300 isn't being made anymore... but as someone who's never ridden a motorcycle i don't need a big powerful bike
Picking up a used Ninja 400 is an absolutely awesome way to get into riding though. They're relatively cheap. Almost always first bikes for others, so you're getting something broken in, but generally not wailed on. And thanks to the Ninja 500 existing, the used prices are kept even lower these days.
plus im not looking to commute on one
i know i've done my research on this
400 don't like the look of and if i want more power i can always mod to make more power
Dude. None of these bikes are "big and powerful". We're talking about bikes barely capable of doing triple digits while in a full tuck, and enough time in a straight line to boil an egg.
To be clear, that might still sound like "Well of course I don't need to go 100 mph! But it's not about top speeds. It's about the bike being comfortably capable of maintaining 75-85 mph without having to pin it.
ok first off don't call me dude. im not a guy im a woman... secondly im Canadian so idk where you think your getting your 100mph number from here
On a motorcycle, you need buffer room to be able to drop a gear and pass. To be able to get into and out of places quickly, because you cannot rely on cars to realize you're there.
Depends how much highway use they plan to do tbh
If not a lot its fine
👆
Alright dude. ✌️😂
It's just an expression, no one's attacking your gender. I couldn't care less. But I will refrain from calling you dude, because I'm not trying to insult you.
Yes. You do need a bike capable of 100 mph because whether you realize it or not, a bike capable of less, will struggle at 80 mph.
And as I've already stated, you don't want to be in a dangerous position and find out you've got nothing left to extract yourself with.
As for "it depends on how much highway-" no, it doesn't. None of these baby sport bikes are capable or comfortable for doing big highway miles. This is still just to manage short, hr or less stints on the highway.
🙄
says he'll "rerain from calling me dude" calls me dude anyways
bro stfu... it totally is a gendered expression and i TOLD YOU to not call me that
as far as a bike thats "comfortable with" being at those speeds... its not that much of an issue cause like i said if i wanted to go faster then id just mod it to make more power
80mph is well above our highway speed limits
Jesus Christ who sh*t in your fruit loops? It was a joke to try to de-escalate your freak out over an obviously benign phrase.
You do know that your car is capable of more than 100 mph right?
its not benign and i didn't find it funny or to be a joke
Sounds like your problem.
bro 100mph is like doing 160Kph
our speed limits are 100Kph
🤣 alright "bro".
no sounds like a you being a shitty person problem
We get it. You don't know how driving works.
No, it sounds like you're looking for excuses to act triggered. No one's attacking you.
Yeah, no. You blew up because you didn't like my advice, and are now trying to play victim. No one's calling you any names.
im not i told you not to call me "dude" or "bro" and you still did
no your mansplaing shit i already know. plus i never asked for your advice in the first place
you don't know me
You literally made the conscious choice to call me "bro" specifically to instigate more BS.
you have NO idea who i am, what i do and where im from
cause your a dude no?
No one here is trying to hurt you, or misgender you.
you never asked me to stop but i would if you did
then don't call me that shit please
its not a "sounds like a you problem" thing its about respect
Sure, and I specifically stated that I would stop calling you the completely benign term "dude". And I did. And you continued with this line of antagonization.
after you called me it tho
then you called me "bro"
sooo like should i believe you??
im not fucking stupid
So what you're saying is that I stopped calling you dude after I said I'd stop calling you dude then?
holy fuck my guy
Seriously. Stop. You're freaking out where there needs to be none.
No one is attacking you. You need to recognize the difference between casual conversational terms and "attacks".
the point you missed, in the same breath as saying "i will refrain" you said before "alright dude"
you think its "casual" i don't
Are you seriously dense enough not to recognize the language you've been using with me?
are you know telling me how i should feel?
i don't fucking know you
your not my friend were not buddy buddy here
No. You think it's an excuse to attack me and use language no one's been using with you.
your just some asshole on this chat that decided to mansplain me about something NO ONE asked you about
@lyric tulip
mods?
you know what
fuck you bud
i've had enough of that shit
be gone forever
Oh my god... Seriously. Check in with your therapist. I'm not saying this to insult you. I'm genuinely worried that you're experiencing something more complex than some guy on the internet using the word "dude".

such a lovely bike
i either want a black one
or
nice red
kinda leaning towards red more so... cause i've got a lot of monochrome cars
I hope you get your bike.
Finally got one of the o2 sensors out on my car I got a breaker bar to see if that would work and it came of super easy
Also used a lot of pb blaster
i left my sunroof window open this night and it rained so much😂 , thank god its not a new car with a lot of electronics
Not quite cars but related enough
If you're a hobby mechanic. Please don't take it up full time in the UK
I mean
You're kind of an asshole
Like
Barging in here, mansplaining and acting like a douche doesn't make you look good at all 🤷♀️
That's nice
500, a 1000cc isnt a beginner bike
even tho the rebel isnt really "fast" still would not advice it
No one was "mansplaining" anything. Maybe scroll up for a bit more context? I was being repeatedly attacked and cursed at by a child that needlessly felt embarrassed or defensive about showing off photos of a motorcycle without a clue what it was.
It's just childish insecurity when someone decides to take offense to basic, well-meaning advice because they don't know what they're talking about, and would rather explode into completely uncalled for outrage than to simply consider the new information in the spirit that it's given. Isn't that why they're here? Why else would you post about it on a public forum?
Regardless of gender, which I didn't know or care about, because gender had no bearing on the subject.
A Rebel 500 is a perfectly reasonable beginner bike for an aspiring cruiser rider or very short person because it's very low to the ground, with low center of gravity and approachable seat height. But it's still a bit underpowered for the amount of weight it's being asked to move, and more so than cars, power-to-weight ratios matter more than just HP.
So while it's still a perfectly reasonable beginner friendly bike for almost anyone, it's not going to be nearly as fun to ride or last as long in your garage, as something with a bit more power or less weight.
Normally you're completely right, but the Rebel 1100 is absolutely nothing like other 1000cc+ bikes, and while not necessary for a beginner, isn't going to kill them either. Many larger, older individuals would be perfectly fine on a Rebel 1100. But that's about the only modern 1000cc+ bike that I'd suggest for a beginner.
Its really not about displacement as much as actual hp/tq and power delivery.
In general, if you want to start out safely, get good (and safe) quickly, you want the lightest 40ish hp bike you can find. Some minor exceptions to that are exceptionally light dual sports like a CRF300L or KLX300, which despite being only ~27 hp, are light enough to (mostly) overcome the power deficiency.
These bikes make fantastic beginner bikes, despite not being the most fun to take onto highways, because what they lack in high speed capability and stability, they more than make up for in off-road capability.
Those look cool. Although I'm not the biggest expert on cruisers. So I have no practical experience with those. But if you're looking in that direction, check out the Kawasaki Eliminator and Vulcan S as well. The Vulkan S is a bit on the heavy side, as generally staying under 400 lbs is better for a beginner, but with as low center of gravity cruisers are, you can handle a bit more weight than say a towering 500 lb Adventure bike or dual sport.
A slightly more upright, fun to ride bike in the same vain as the Rebel would be it's close relative the Honda SCL500. It's the same engine, very similar frame, but sits a bit more upright with more sporty ergonomics. Making it more fun to ride while maintaining a Scrambler-y cruiser vibe.
There's also the Triumph Bonnevilles, Street Twins (basically a Bonneville) and Trident 660 as well, if you're not dead set on Americana styled cruisers, and dig British standard/naked bike vibes.
This totaly didnt fall off 10minutes later
The actually safe version
🤣🤣
We are adding some power to our baby Ninja, and testing whether a small bike with some power mods can take on the big boys, the liter bikes!
Huge thank you to the entire team at Graves Motorsports, and specially Mr. Graves. Go get you some sweet parts:
https://www.gravesport.com/
Thank you to Compact Octane for letting us crash their track day...
Tints seem nice on super sunny days but they're illegal here and i dont wan give cops any reason to look my way
it would be cool if we could get auto glass that had like an active tint
i know the technology exists to make glass transparent or opaque when given voltage
cause i do appreciate the tint on my XKR sometimes... but other times i wish it wasn't there. especially at night
Damn that's dark tint in front
yeah hopefully they didn't tint the windshield
none yet it’s getting 35% soon
no real tint laws in my state so i went dark
they pull me over regardless so i just don’t care anymore lol
forced the homie to detail the zx10 today
😬
Clear. 👌
It's not even that deep lol, there's something to be said for not sweating small stuff
also this is sick, super excited for u
i met him irl once
he is REALLY tall
Since everyone is posting their bikes
Mine is neglected
Even after a bath and a wax, it's not gonna cover up the years of rust belt abuse by the previous owners, but she's still fun to drive around.
The lovely stock 18in aka (hit literally any bump or any ground clearance and grind the hell out of the undercarriage) aluminum wheels, I Don't know if 16's would give it some more ground clearance....
Nah
Its been lowered
More tire might help or maybe lift it back up
What percent?
5% on everything but front windshield, getting a lighter tint on the front windshield at some point
W
wanted to do double 5% but i sat in a truck that had it on every window and couldn’t see shit lmao
I ran 5% on everything but the shield on my caliber
it’s really the best option
Perfection
I wish wagons were more popular in the US
Hell, I wish hatches were more popular too
I loved my A7
the ideal layout
oh lol that's just an image of the type of bike i want. not an actual bike I've gotten
see the problem is that it IS a gendered expression. like if you were to say to a straight guy "how many dude did you fuck last night" they'd get all upset about it
PLUS as a trans woman I've worked so fucking hard not to be called things like "bro" or "dude"... i deserve to be called a woman
A wild Corvette
C4 turbines
Yeas
fuck yeah
bmw diesels are insane
Is that...166mpg? over...0km?
Looks like it
M40B16
In is going an S52B32 once the chassis is rust free
Hoarding parts to do a full (US Spec) M3 conversion suspension/interior/drivetrain wise
Should be, this is my 5th E36 😄, finally making the one of my dreams
Mechanic said that the misfires and rough engine during cold starts could be caused by a faulty MAP sensor so im getting that replaced but still waiting for a quote. But its not confirmed so who knows if it’ll be the fix
Well yeah that what happen when you start new trip while going downhill.
was going uphill in a tunnel
Sure...
For 0.1s while CC wasn't inputting throttle
was like that throughout the whole tunnel though, it went up when i got out and the speed limit changed
i think you gotta find a new mechanic lol it sounds like he’s just firing the parts cannon
find someone who can actually figure out your issue
not just guess
So the whole tunnel was less 1km and took less 1m to drive?
the whole tunnel was about 6km, i started the new trip in the tunnel cause the mpg gauge in the cluster was really low
i just wanted to see the number
Maybe you’re right but im still going through with this
Unless price is high
this gauge
get a long term average if you want to show off mpg's
Yeah so just like i said earlier you started a new trip and took a picture before consumption went up.
i do get about 5.8l/100 in the city
yeah 😭 any car will have crazy crazy mpg if you reset it while coasting
because i promise you you’re not getting 1.7l/100km or about 139mpg
on the highway
no, you were going down hill
Get on my level /s
the gauge in the cluster is real time though
i was in fact not
brother the picture you sent the engine is off 😭
random pic off google
are you… ok?
mb i thought u were showing us pictures of your car
I make up for the difference
Drive the car
It takes corn
I miss my 1er 🥲
america’s weird
seriously love mine, not fast at all but still insanely fun
What's weird
not a bad road-tripper either
I had a ~500whp 135i
i’ve got a ~120whp 116d…
My e92 dynoed at 707whp
i’ve seen them referred to as the e92
whatever
they both look good
this is what confused me
Car in the picture is indeed an E93 👍
well
Might make it better for youtube SEO to refer to it as the E92 or something
E90 - Sedan
E91 - Wagon
E92 - Coupe
E93 - Cabrio
I believe the E93 sold decently good, partially because of the hardtop it came with.
Yeah I thought about buying one before my e92
I've been considering a diesel E92 to have as a daily driver while the E36 Project is on going
or an E82
he should be able to read it out, maybe go to a other shop
They did
And searched the codes up and came up with this conclusion
Yeah
cursed car
Does it burn oil brev, no fault codes, random miss fire, coil pack and sparks changed sounds like rings brev
I'm not sure if its burning oil but when i checked oil i feel like there was quite a lot gone
335d ftw, I would love one but we never got any E9x with the TTD in Australia
have you done a compression or leak down test
it’s probably fucked
Mechanic said not worth money to do compression test
They said it’d be a waste
?? it’s free brother
pull the plugs
use the test gauge
he just wants you to spend more money
Guess not
Idk what to tell ya i got no experience with cars
It’s like 10min innit
i can tell, i think your mechanic is taking you for a ride
I would do it for free when changing the plugs if someone asked tbh
a painful ride
it’s legit a test gauge and someone has to crank the motor
you could do it yourself if u can pull plugs
Probably
Well i’d rather not
imo you should at least ask him to do it
no sense in chasing a misfire if your engine has low compression
I’ll get that sensor replaced if that aint fixing i am contacting a more specialized garage
He already has chased it if it is using oil it’s got a be rings
yeah
@prisma frost what have u replaced so far
Just plugs and coils.
That’s where mechanic wanted to start
Piston rings?
Yea
Ah
whenever i’m chasing a misfire i go plugs + compression test, distributor/ignition coil, then dig into wiring
or since i own mostly gm, intake manifold gasket leaks lmaoo
Idk just see how much oil it uses after like 500 miles or smth
I’ll maybe try and call a vw specialist tomorrow and try to get an appointment
i thought that’s what your mechanic was replacing
oh mb yeah the mass air flow sensor
He’s replacing map
Manifold absolute pressure or whatever the nerd name is
Idk all i was told is that he read the codes searched on internet and came up with this
interesting
And me knowing nothing about cars I just trust his word
Oh shit
If he got code for it then ye lol
I thought he wasn’t getting anything from it
Current symptoms are sluggish acceleration during low rpms and rough idle after starting car with car shaking excessively around 1000rpm again with cold engine and revving the car to about 1200rpm makes it shake a lot again. When engine is warm its all smooth and no shaking
Well I could only read a misfire code with my cheap €5 obd scanner but im just trusting their words here
What’s interesting is that after changing the plugs I had no issues for a week and then suddenly misfires here and there and flashing engine light and then after changing the coils I had no issues for 10 days and then misfires again with the flashing engine light. It’s so annoying, you keep thinking its fixed and then getting pranked by ur own car
How much did he quote for the sensor ?
I haven’t had a quote yet bc their system was down or smt
All I know is that they’re ordering from VW
And that isn’t always cheap
But hope im hearing a price tomorrow
Yea but at least when it’s genuine u know it ain’t that if prob still there
Put copy Chinese parts on and u can end up chasing faults for no reason
its like 30euros nothing bad
I deffo think he’s doing it right would stick with that guy from what u said so far yk
wym brother they’re all aerospace engineers n shit
Prolly engineering or coding
I make music & YouTube videos
Used to work for LTT so really the secret is to work for LTT and be a furry
Damn
You collaborated with STUPDENDIUM? Nice
The ball's in your court, Hyundai. And you need to work on your free throw.
Guess I need to consider myself extremely lucky. As I have 2. lol
They all make 10 billion dollars somehow
@candid token I love my brother's 96 Dodge 1500
Yes!! I want one
I call it mount rustmor
Because I don't have 120k for a Platinum f-450
Do not get a diesel for a daily
My brother has 3 maybe 4
I like it
And two semi cabs
Wow
I was considering more like the cheapest 120i coupe with 400k km on the clock 😁
Drive it until it breaks, then think about N57/M57
Da silly turbo on da silly engine in da silly car
Jesus 😭
Yea lol I think it’s all internet shit
Chronically online stuff
My AC system had 0ml of oil
Casually has LTT channel linked to your discord
you dont know the meme do you
the suspiciously wealthy furry meme
anyways custom center caps for my 3 piece wheels
needs more sanding still
This is the quote I got. Sensor itself is €165 and labor is €90. Is this a somewhat fair price?
Looks sick
nuh uh that's not true... im broke af 😭
MK3 jetta
noic
hoping to get wheels back from powder coat this week
fancy
mount rustmor is crazy
Is this the MAP sensor?
When I search the part number it seems to be but some people in video I saw said it was a MAF sensor
Not all cars run pressure - some run air flow. MAP vs MAF. Personally, I prefer MAP.
MAP is better for performance
It's better for forced induction. As long as you have an accurate representation of the amount of air going in, the ECU will manage.
MAP is generally good for forced induction or na
The location would vary differently depending on the application like for na would be tend to run in the manifold but it is cheaper and more efficient just to throw a maf in the intake
And generally just as effective as MAP for natural aspiration. The problem with forced induction is stuff like blow off valves letting already metered air out of the intake system instead of into the engine.
And boost leaks.
The part I dislike most about MAF is if you want to change the intake then you're stuck with 'well WTF do I do with this' or buying a vehicle specific intake system that has a prevision for the sensor.
Yes
Does anything seem off about the MAP reading?
I found this little menu on my cheap OBD
Not really
On a faulty one its normally obvious
Like jumps around like crazy
If u leave it ticking over does it just stay at around the same number
Wdym
I bought a aftermarket sensor from Bosch to test if it makes any difference since it easily replaceable
When it’s idling does it stay at the same kpa
Yeah it stays at a almost constant 35kpa
Yea it’s fine then innit
i have no fucking clue
i was drivin and heard it dragging, then it flew off
ripped the backup cam and plate light wiring harness yippee
Well im sure its normal
That's very odd
Didn't some cars lose their bumbers after they had gone through some water?
Not a large amount, just a bit of standing water.
update took it to a body shop and I learned whoever repaired the car previously attempted to use glue to fix broken clips and they completely broke lmao
gotta go through insurance bc it did wiring damage and i’m not paying for that lol

them clips are a masive pain in the ass but interesting to hear that only the clips holded the whole ass bumper
no screws at all?
either they weren’t reinstalled, or it’s just plastic clips
the only screws i could find were for the fender liners
is ai
i kno
I really like my new truck
Theres a tune you can get done at the dealership that gets it to 455hp and 536 torque but keeps warranty
Seems fun
I did a transmission fluid change on the rav4 for the first time in 12 years of ownership...
somehow the colour was still red
dark red so defo time to replace, but shockingly alright
Toyota reliability goes wild
Gah damn boy
What is it??
Its 405hp and like 450-ish torque stock since its tuned for 87
Apparently in Europe they detune it all the way down to like 280hp
definitely doing an insurance claim on this one jesus christ
i love shoddy bodywork i’m so happy my bumper just fell tf off
But man. Wanting to replace virtually every single thing.
That the V6?
Yeah they dont offer the v8 in this smaller one
Ik, it's the 2.3T and whatever size that V6 is
Not even sure if you can get the I4 in the raptor
In the US the raptor only comes with the 3.0 twin turbo v6
Theres a 2.7l NA v6 I think for the regular ranger
I think it shares most of the engine options with the Bronco
Yeah they're the same platform I think
Yee
Same engine and transmission as the Broncos raptor but its much cheaper
Kinda wish they shared the manual from the bronco
Would bolt right up to a I4T ranger 4x4, might need to do a bit of crossmember relocation
I really like this ranger raptor
The new ranger tbh aint really my thing. Learned to drive in a 2G, techincally have a 1G currently
I didn't like the regular ones too much but the raptor I think is the best mid-size on the current market
Maybe if the TRD pro had the v6 from the tundra in it that'd be pretty cool
But that i4 hybrid system in the $75k toyotas is not fun
Wish companies would just let us just use whatever drivetrain in whatever trim level and such instead of having certain trims restricted to certain drivetrains
Oh fuck you, warship
And bring back the base model manual transmissions, damnit
Its not just the powertrain for the raptor though I love the suspension
Maybe because ive had so many suspension repair bills just from normal northeast roads on my c43 lol
I’ve grown an appreciation for the v8 Nissan titans recently
Only modern recently I have been actually considering buying
why tf would you give me the telematics in an unreadable xml
sadly it needs all of it 😭 whoever fixed this car left every clip broken lmao
That’s pretty good
It’s all Greek to me.
who would’ve thought.

Is anyone going to plug a 5090 into their car?
I did and it enhanced my performance
It would hypothetically improve my car's self driving.
Finally did all the o2 sensors on my car and took it for a drive
Still sounds kinda funky I think the gas might be bad or something it doesn’t have any obd2 codes anymore though
what dies it sound like
is it making a pinging noise
I don’t think it’s pinging or rod knock or anything like that it still sounds like a mis fire
But I mean it might be I’m not sure I’ll have to take a video next time
Hopefully it isn’t
how do your plugs look
Plugs and coils are all new just did them
And new o2 sensors
pull them again, check the spark plug gap w a feeler gauge, and see if they are oily or smell like gas
Ok I will later might be a headgasket or something if so
borrow a compression tester from autozone or any auto parts dtore
could be low compression
is it eating coolant
(just had very similar issues with my 98 crv lol)
I don’t think it is but I haven’t checked the coolant yet
I just hope it’s nothing too major
i hope not. i had very similar issues till mine overheated
replaced plugs messed with distributor and what not
ran a compression test and three cylinders were at 120, one was at 75psi (all supposed to be around 180 lmao) and shortly after it blew up
Damn that sucks 😭 if it is something bad I guess I’ll just drive it till it blows then get a different engine. This 3.3 came in so many Toyota that they’re dirt cheap
I replaced the MAP sensor (I’m guessing what I replaced is the MAP sensor) with a €30 aftermarket bosch one instead of spending €300 at a mechanic
But still not sure this is the sensor the mechanic meant
it has only 1map sensor at the intake pipe so if you replaced that than you did it right
I replaced that sensor. Some people in yt video said its a MAF sensor but when I search up the part number it brings u to MAP sensors
It started rough again annoyingly
Ouch
Rev
a little raspy
I kind of want to slap my resonator on but it's a bit of a pain
My exhaust is stainless so I can't weld it
I don't have stainless wire
Oh - well get 308L wire and tri mix
That sounds like a lot of money for two welds
Clamp is also a pain because nobody carries my size exhaust clamps
or be a raspy farty mcfartfart
🥲
I'm open dump so the car is crazy loud during pulls anyways
Thats mild 😛
It's a quick car though
I like keeping the mostly stock look to deceive people
What did it dyno at
over 1000

7675 billet
My car only made 707whp on the dyno because I had a fueling issue at the time
And I'm still open deck
I still have vanos and everything
thats prob like a 6262
6466
close
Speedtech kit
It's a great street car honestly
I did power tour in it last week
~1300 miles
I miss my 135i a little because of the cornering ability
This car can't corner at all
Built for straight line
The one I sent is an E34
its stripped down, ground control coil overs
its on M/Ts most of hte time but it still handles
like 3100 - 3200 lbs and 1048 rwhp
This is an e92, my other car is an e39, and I used to have an e82
I have many
I was on an et street r but switched to the NT555RII because water
F80, F30s, E30, E34s
After these I want to try the et street s/s
hate the interior
I like mine but it's also in good shape
it just seems so 2007
yeah thats too .... i dunno i cant get into it
It's much better with the newer idrive system
My wife has an M440i GC and E84 35i
Early e9x/e8x idrive was terrible
This has bluetooth phone support and everything
yeah same but it feels... old
I think the only option mine doesn't really have is individual audio
I kind of want to do an android auto idrive screen but this one isn't that bad
I am thankful my wifes car has N55
yeah i have a bimmertech mmi to put in my wifes car but haven't yet
shes been driving m440i gc
@wispy cloak at least you got your shit together on that thing unlike @deep zealot
What's wrong with his
flapgs gums talks a lot of smack never has any details
N54 is the best for making power but an ewg n55 is probably the best stock daily
Oh
rent free lmfaooooo
deleting posts like a weirdo
dunno what you're talking about
in the process throwing around false accusations lmaoooo
don't take anything this noodle says as real
rent free i tell you
just like living at moms house
curious who the scammer from another server is
I think you know
Me when I forget to enable dtc
you need free rent bro, drivin moms car
im on standalone with TC - totally tuneable which is nice
I just have jb4
😬
So I can edit a fair amount of parameters but it's very... interesting...
yeah kind of frustrating
Maybe I'll go motiv eventually
full standalone here - motec PDM
But my car is tuned by docvu and his whole bread and butter is jb4
yeah people make it work
I need to keep working on my 60-130 times
I have done a few piggybacks but they don't cope with LTFT and shit over time
This is still "slow" for this car
6 speed
I think I need to add a little more fuel bias in the higher rpm range
I have a ZF8HP for my E34 but it just runs and I don't want to take it apart
It's not dropping pressure like that one time but it seems maybe a bit lean
8hp swap is the dream for this car
Yeah I have a ZF8HP90 for it
You've heard what the twin discs always sound like in these right
my green car is on its 3rd or 4th ZF320Z
I run a twin disc
I have a UUC carbon/carbon twin
Does yours make the awful noise or is that just an e9x thing
all do
Yep
the howling and rattle?
I have an xclutch
Mine sounds like a bad throwout bearing and crazy gear clatter
ya
its the floater plates and shit
yup
It really turns heads when I press the clutch

Always a fun time explaining how that sound isn't bad
you should hear my poor ZF320
in neutral the input shaft is like .... it pays more rent than Vert
When I had my caliber srt4 the gear clatter and clutch chatter was insane
That was a full face macleod
Nearly an on/off switch
The bmw is a lot more driveable
macleod is overrated - had one in an LS1 it was kind of terrible
Yeah it wasn't great
This xclutch is fantastic
It slips nice off the line for normal driving
But you can dump it and it'll hold great
yeah looks similar to my UUC
It's rated for 1200lb-ft if I remember right
Yep
they chew the heck out of the floater/flywheel
they will work for a while and then one day its like.... no torque clamping
The only weird thing about this car is that the rpm drops so fast during normal driving that you need to blip the throttle on some upshifts
yeah that's what is nice about standalone
i let the idle valve chill between shifts
it helps keep it from stalling/falling too low between shifts cruising
I'm drive by wire so it just does things
right same thing though
if you could control it you can just not let the throttle go below X % when clutch signal is present
Just magically through electronics
so even if you let off the throttle it will still be like 3-5%
No physical cables
yeah i have DBW also
Fancy pants
I still run an idle valve though because my throttle is like 96mm
Ginormous
so when closed it goes from like "no air" to "ok maybe too much' off idle
I'm just glad this isn't one of the hybrid systems
With a physical throttle cable AND drive by wire
That's how my e39 is
yeah its a little weird

I feel like this car is going to take another 2+ years before it makes power on the street
Hardly ever active but can't help but share 1989 Mk2 Golf 1.6 petrol first time running in 15 odd years, still very rough round the edges but a major milestone from a cheap barn find
Oh definitely
My overhead console fell out and shattered when I was getting off the freeway the other day. Gotta do this until my used one comes
Yeah I think my engine might just be screwed
Weird thing is I go for a drive then pull off turn the car off then I start it back up and it sounds and runs perfect for a while
Maybe it’s the timing or something?
Maybe it’s a tensioner or some type of pulley because I’ve been driving it a bit now and it drives basically perfectly besides that noise
Something getting warm, expanding, and hitting another thing
Check the pulleys, maybe the timing belt/chain
Cool I will thank you
giant ahh car
Citroën Ami
is a mini cooper from 1996 a good first car?
Lil bro revving the two cylinder lol
no
i love shitbox trucks
also my service engine light must have burnt out lmao it is very dim
No
I hate when there's one on the road
@indigo sinew these are all really stupid gimmicks fyi
I prefer diesels personally but had a Tesla for awhile and I drive a LOT because I own 2 companies. I hated the Tesla because climate and radio controls are on the touch screen with no physical options so I have to actually take my focus off the road to adjust those.
GM has supercruise which does everything I ever used Self Driving for (full self driving is really dumb imo)
Why do you need AI in a car 😭 😭 😭
@magic zinc I saw that gray elantra n leaving the movie theater last night
Also some dude in a roush midnite showed up
I did not realize how limited production those were
This console is infinitely better due to having a hybrid of touch screen and physical you can adjust basically anything you'd want to while driving in these trucks. Newer Jettas are really similar too but I'll never get a new Jetta till they make a diesel again fuck gas engines
black trim?
I like AI in everything! I’m a huge supporter of AI in all my tech
This feels like a good mix to me
yeah that's my friend
Could your AI fix the various issues the cyber truck has that where all solved on MD trucks of the 1970s and HD trucks never had to deal with (it tries to be an HD)
I don’t even do any work these days… I just ask ChatGPT to write my patient reports, send emails etc
the cyber truck is a giant fucking triangle yet doesn't follow basic structural design rules neither does the model 3 I had
We had a "meet" (nobody really sent public invites so very few people actually showed up)
Tesla's all fall apart eventually purely because they don't follow the most basic rule of design and engineering
USE FUCKING TRIANGLES ITS THE STRONGEST SHAPE
if you hmu i would've shown prolly
For cars actually worth looking at it was just mine, that mustang 360r, and the fto
There's supposed to be one a little bit north this evening I think
Idk if I'll be there or not
ik there's one in kkee
here's a rear view of a Silverado 5500
This truck sits higher then a cyber truck does, is designed to pull loads nearly 3x that of the cybertruck
Has a hitch receiver lower to the ground, has a smaller bar for said receiver yet has no known issues with snapping for example
This one is supposed to be near the old afb I think
oh shit i'd show for that
I'll have to double check where exactly
The cyber truck has hitch snapping issues at loads as low as 1/8th that of what it's rated for. It's the only truck built since 1995 in the HD weight ranges to have this issue
(izusu made a weird 4500/5500 version of the elf between 1992-1995 that has the same issue as the cyber truck for the same reason.)
the curved hitch bar just makes the reciver snap.
GM could uniornically have $100K from me again if they just sold more of these
I miss my super duty
Had a crew cab long bed 6.0 that was studded and deleted
I sold it because I stopped towing as much and I regret it
I love my extended cab 05 just it has so many fucking issues now
I own a powerstroke, cummins, and duramax just get the duramax
it pulls a lot but good lord we aint goin anywhere quick
yeah that’s all i’d buy
the company powerstrokes aren't even a year old and having issues
all 3 are having block heater issues intermittently and weird fuel issues
and then we have a RAM with a concrete mixer on it and it blew up its engine around 80K
yeah i’ve heard new cummins have major grid heater issues
meanwhile the 3 old duramaxs we have (same engine in my 2025 too) are still kicking
entire bolts be melting off and into the cylinder lmao
The 6.0 is a lot better than people say but prices are going up on them
390K, 621K and 509K miles last I checked the duramaxs at work
i mean once you pour money into them yes. i refuse to buy one still though lol
2020, 2018, and 2016
Literally the biggest issue I had on mine was a standpipe o-ring going bad
(those trucks have unimaginable work hours fyi they litterally haven't had a hour they where not running for in 2 years outside mainteince)
And when my turbo exploded but the way it blew up shouldn't have been possible
I think somebody had it apart and didn't know what they were doing
just get a 2017+ duramax and leave it factory
I will not buy a gm product
the only 5500 trucks i’ve driven were ram gassers with the 6.4 hemi and i will tell ya to not buy one ever
I almost bought a 6.7 that needed a fuel system
oh besides the one F450 and RAM we have all diesel 3500s
don't get a 6.7
blew a trans in the first 10k miles on one and they’re just fucking slow and struggle on hills cuz its a gasser
Why
my company has went through 11 6.7 RAM 3500s in the past 3 years lol
our 6.7s are all having intermitent issues
and we had to get 8 whole ass trucks replaced
I'm a d1 mopar hater and I own a hellcat killer
i’m done with mopar and i hesitate to buy fords
fords
all i buy is cheap junk tho so
we're getting a new dump truck soon I just gotta take the dump bed off the F350 that needs sent back to the dealer
(I don't trust my only forklift operator to run a skid steer without ripping a door off the truck or smth)
we ordered 5 F350s back in 2024 and 4 of them died within the year and the 5th died recently
all related to cam issues, dealer is just accepting to give our money back
good god i can’t believe they’re still using cp4s
the duramax is the only truck I've seen stand up to construction and plumbing
espically when you have 20 people working nights and 38 in the days
They recalled the newer ones but older 6.7 owners are just sol
that’s awful 😭 it’s been common knowledge for a LONG time that cp4’s suck ass but ford threw em in anyways
Why can't we just stick with tried and true hpfp solutions
6.7s are fine if you just tow with them and run them as street cars but when they're getting 1400 pounds of tools put on them 24/7 and 2000+ pounds of trailer weight on them basically 24/7 the engines NEVER hold up to running like that constantly
to be fair i do plumbing/pipefitting and we don’t even have diesels unless you count the kenworth w900 for oversized stuff
we do commerical stuff ONLY
yeah i do entirely commercial and heavy industrial
so we're reguarly moving hundreds of pounds of metal pipe lol
When I worked at a small equipment dealer/rental place we had two main trucks
but yeah outfitting those trucks with the tools for 4 man teams to run them is pretty hard on them alone
A 24v cummins that was mega clapped and an earlier 6.6 truck
we just load the fuck out of base model chevy’s and fords (some of which have the 4.3 v6 lmao 😭)
The 24v was on its third trans, had no dash, and no AC but it was a 3500 dually so we used it the most
I've lowkey been considering just finding a 24v mega cab 2500 for the supervisor
The 6.6 was just a 2500 and it was too light
